The worst | [Worst] Wolverine/Logan X [Male Iron Man variant] Reader
Tumblr media
Logan hates the void, but he hates it a little less after he meets a bearable Tony Stark - except you aren't exactly a Tony Stark he recognizes.
Quick Notes : I haven't actually written for Logan before, but I'm obsessed after Deadpool and Wolverine so... Here we go. I might write a part two, but I'm not sure yet.
Story Details : Deadpool & Wolverine spoilers, Reader is male but referred to with 'You/Your' pronouns, about 800 or so words, light angst, Logan drinking (obviously), cliffhanger ending.
Logan disliked the void; he disliked it nearly as much as he disliked Wade, which was a lot. Through the entire thing - the fight in the damn honda odyssey, getting the hell away from Cassandra, even getting brought to the resistance hideout - the only thing he wanted to do was down a few bottles of booze and crash for the night. The conversation he’d had with Laura made him feel… odd. It was hard to explain, and Logan wasn’t exactly known for being ‘in touch’ with his feelings. Hell, he preferred to drown them in alcohol over talking about them or even feeling them.
The mutant was drawn from his thoughts (and the bottle in his hand) when the door to the resistance opened, your form entering the hideout. He felt his nose scrunch - the stranger smelled like rust and metal, an unpleasant combination. You looked up from something in your hand, glancing at Logan before giving a curt nod and moving towards the nearby table. It was then that he caught sight of a slight blue glow just peeking out from overtop your undone top buttons; an arc reactor. Logan grit his teeth, tearing his eyes away as he downed half the bottle - of course he’d have to deal with a damn Tony Stark variant, it couldn’t have been that Wade was awake, it had to be him.
A grunt from you pulled his attention back towards you, his gaze soon affixing to what was in your hand - or more accurately, on your arm. It was a repulsor gauntlet, probably part of a full suit if he had to guess, with the paint faded and scratched. With only a glance, he had a feeling you’d been here a long while.
“You’re the first Wolverine I’ve seen here,”
Your voice cut through Logans’ thoughts, and he couldn’t help the bitter scoff that left him - of course you’d know who he was. Shaking his head, he approached your spot at the table, taking a seat across from you as he watched. You were fiddling with your repulsor gauntlet, the screwdriver in your hand digging between the metal plates as you scowled. For a brief moment, he locked eyes with you. Huh. It was then that he fully took in your form - really looked - and noticed that you weren’t quite the Tony Stark he was used to; you didn’t even look like a Tony Stark.
“You gonna’ tell me how you got here, or are you gonna’ keep staring at me while I work?”
Logan huffed at your question, bringing the bottle of booze to his lips as he regarded you. He didn’t particularly want to talk - especially to a damn Iron Man - but he relented, the alcohol flowing through his system loosening his tongue.
“The jackass known as Wade got us both stuck here,” you paused at his words, arching a brow as Logan took a swig, “He pulled me from my universe to try and save his.”
He could tell something about his words had struck a nerve because the moment he mentioned his own universe, you all but glared down at your gauntlet, your movements with the screwdriver less controlled and precise.
“Least you’ll get a chance to leave,” came your bitter words.
It was now the mutants’ turn to raise a brow, his eyes watching you - analyzing you - for any sign of what set you off. He looked away, tipping the bottle of alcohol back as the liquor slid down his throat.
“You been stuck here a while?” Logan found himself asking, surprising both you and himself.
Even more surprising, you looked up from your gauntlet and nodded, your expression softening as you tossed the screwdriver onto the table and sighed,
“Been here longer than most. Had the TVA approach me to join the fuckin’ ‘sacred timeline’ or whatever, and when I turned it down - tried to warn the Avengers - they sent me here. I got every one of my mates killed.” Logan frowned, but didn’t interrupt. Even to him, it was clear you didn’t often talk about your past, “Cassandra’s been tryin’ to get me on her side for ages now, but I refuse. I’m a genius, not a fuckin’ lap dog for some deranged bitch.”
That got a bark of laughter from the mutant, who shook his head in amusement; you had the signature ‘Tony Stark’ cockiness, arrogance might have been a better word, but you seemed more down to earth than the one he’d known of back in his universe. You seemed to have a shadow following you, something hidden to everyone that kept you locket away; it was something he could relate to.
“You got a name they call you?” Logan asked, taking another swig from his pilfered bottle of alcohol.
You hummed, returning your focus to your repulsor gauntlet as you picked up the screwdriver once more,   “I’m the worst Iron Man.”

So, uh, just reread "chapter"all it takes is one bad day" and does Twice have pure white pupils and irises like AFO supposedly does? Like, I haven't seen any clear official art of his eyes, but in the one back cover of him they look like they're pure white?
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
At this point I'm just going to have to make an entire essay on how we should be reading Japanese media with an understanding of cultural and class markers. No, Jin does not have the same eyes or similar eyes to AFO. Yes, there's connections with Jin and AFO but that's another topic. 1. AFO's eye color hasn't been really confirmed aside from that one WSJ cover that implies they can be clear and white. 2. That's not what the "something about my eyes rubs people the wrong way" means. This is what I mean about the cultural context being missing from most of us Western-readers and how we just don't get reading the manga with no guide to explain small details to us. I also wish Jin was just popular so I don't feel like I'm the only one in the fandom yammering about the ridiculous amount of depth he has as a character and in his storyline. First off, Jin's eyes are sunken in, his features abnormally "chiseled" and rough for an anime character. By the time we meet him he looks like he's had a hard life but we also find out in flashbacks he always kind of looked like that.
Tumblr media
He's unkempt - stubbled, has the sunken eyes and dark eyebags the villains are generally drawn with. He smokes, drinks, wears a wife beater, has no eyebrows, and used to ride a motorcycle. All these things are a red flag. This is where "you really need to be familiar with Japanese media before you read BNHA" comes in, Jin, while drawing from several different Western comic characters (John Constantine, Deadpool, Rorschach), is also neatly fitting into the yanki and bosuzoku (sorta) trope. Or Japanese delinquents. What throws people "off" is the lack of eyebrows. Yanki are traditionally portrayed with no eyebrows. This link here explains that at sight a delinquent can be identified with shaved eyebrows. This is why so many villainous or rough characters are eyebrowless. It's like the Japanese equivalent of giving villains twirly mustaches and goatees - something about the imagery of that already implies villain in our minds, whereas the lack of eyebrows implies delinquent/criminal in the Japanese cultural imagination (in modern day settings. Heian-era eyebrow-lessness is a different story/class marker).
Tumblr media
He's also blonde, or "chapatsu" which is also another "Delinquent" trope in Japan - many delinquents in the 70s-90s bleached their hair to this yellow or orange color (hence "cha" which obviously means tea/chai). Japanese schools are infamously awful at allowing for self-expression to the point where naturally brown-haired students can be forced to dye their hair, and chapatsu hair was a marker of a rebellious/delinquent student. Twice isn't the only one who Horikoshi uses this trope for. Tomura, for example, really had the "up to no good" look early on even if I think he's more of a homebody.
Tumblr media
You know who else?
Tumblr media
Huh, interesting, given Takami's a murderous professional career thief alcoholic. Wait a minute, wasn't Jin was one of the greatest Japanese thieves until his accident, I wonder exactly what Horikoshi meant by making Thief Takami have a similarly unkempt appearance, rough rugged facial features, and barely any brows? Wait -
Tumblr media
Something to understand is that we've gotten information from Yoco Akiyama in TUM about how the main manga's design process works and apparently the facial feature consistency is really important for the artists. Thus the fact Keigo's parents were designed with: 1. Rough, sunken features (Thief & Jin) 2. Unkempt facial fair (Thief & JIn) 3. Deep eyebags (Jin & Tomie) 4. Similarly disordered filthy homes (Takami fam & Jin) 5. Beer Bottles lying around everywhere (Takami fam & Jin) 6. Small, beady eyes with little pupils (Takami Fam & Jin) 7. Grey-Blue Eyes (Tomie & Jin) 8. Clear mental instability (Tomie & Jin) Was absolutely intentional. For all that we see Keigo's parents, Horikoshi knowingly designed them to resemble Jin. Again, Jin was Keigo's villain to save. Keigo was Jin's hero. Keigo failed because we needed a character to fail to save "their villain". Both Keigo and Jin have clear working-class background and criminal class markers. These things tie them together, these marginalized identifications make their relationship something that should have worked. If we want an in-universe reason for Keigo's focus on Jin, it's absolutely true he likely (subconciously) saw his parents superficially reflected in Jin, and decided to "save" him because he was unable to save his parents. Of course, that was not only presumptuous, it was also wrong because Jin is not a stand-in for Keigo's parents (and unlike them is a decent person). Anyway, yeah, no Jin's design/looks made him look like a "thug" to people in his community. That's why he had issues and that's what his comment meant. People's biases about people who look like Twice made him just get...away less. If someone "looks like a thug" you will try to make connections that justify that bias. That's why things like his motorcycle accident hurt him so much. He was uneducated, likely a middle-school dropout, fired from a job, had a record and had "bad vibes". Who'd hire him? Can you understand why Jin was doomed into having to survive as a criminal? Society decided he was meant to fail years before he did fail. So much of BNHA is about people falling into traps of pre-determined outcomes. Jin's tragically so.

If you're still looking for drabble ideas, maybe a CG Deadpool with a masc little who wants to play superheros with him when they're little :)))
i haven't played superheroes in forever but it was my favorite :D
i hope this is alright! sorry it took so long though, classes started early
Super
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
While Wade may not be the typical definition of a superhero, he tries his best. He's cut down on the whole stabby stabby part and *tries* to follow the law most of the time. After all, he's often got at least one little one to wrangle and being covered in sharp objects is far too dangerous! He's gotta be baby proofed more often than not and everyone knows he can't be parted from his beloved bubbies for long.
Thankfully, he gets to play the supervillain in this game.
-
With an evil cackle that could probably land him a role in a Disney movie, he runs across the yard with a hero quick on his tail. "You'll never catch me! I've already taken your poor cookies hostage, and you're never getting them back!" He says in an overly dramatized voice.
"Nuh-uh!" Is the only response he gets before being tackled onto the soft grass. His little peanut has thwarted him? Impossible! He's the great... uhh... Cookie thief! No one catches the cookie thief!
He hugs the cookie filled bento to his chest as the hero stands up over him, pointing down at him with an accusatory finger.
"Let go of the cookies an' nobody hafta get hurt." they say in their 'hero voice'.
"Never." He says, pouting up at the hero.
That seems to take a moment to process. While to Wade it may be a bit obvious that a villain is never going to simply stop because a hero told them to, it might not be as intuitive to his baby boy.
"... *Maybe.*" Wade dramatizes. "Maybe we can come to an agreement, hero."
His grip on the bento loosens slightly, his gloved fingers drumming on the top. His baby crosses their arms and looks down with an attempt at a scowl, ah superheroes.. always so serious.
"I'll release your precious cookies.. on one condition!" He points up, "You've gotta wash your hands.. AND!"
"You said one!"
"And I'm evil! Evil people lie!" Wade scoffs, "anyway, *and* you need to join me for snack time."
The hero taps their chin as he thinks, giving a drawn out 'hmmmm' as they do so. Just as he's seen on TV.
"What's for snack time?"
"Well.. as the renowned Cookie Thief, I think it's only fair for there to be *some* cookies involved." He reasons, trying to sweeten the deal so he can escape once again.
"Can there be apple bunnies too?"
"Of course! I'll never say no to some delectable apple bunnies."
The marvelous hero, having saved the cookies, steps aside and allows Wade to stand up. Wade, true to his villainous nature, breaks off into a run. Not a true run, he still needs his baby to chase him after all, but a joking sprint for sure.
"Muahahahaha!" He cackles, "Race me inside, then we'll see who gets all the cookies!"
"You'll never win, Papa!"
And yeah.. that's true. He always lets his little guy win. He's a *reasonable* villain, and how could any reasonable villain say no to that cutie?

Your favorite movie to watch together
A/N: I highly suggest watching (most of) these movies if you haven't yet. I also added in Tom Blyth from The Hunger Games A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and have added him to the previous preferences as well.
Jonah Hauer-King
Tumblr media
The Lion King will be playing on repeat during movie night. Maybe the sequel Simba's Pride will also play once in a blue moon.
Be ready for a sing-along with Jonah blasting I Can't Wait To Be King.
Tom Glynn-Carney
Tumblr media
Saltburn is a fun movie to have on on a Sunday evening.
He likes mysterious movies almost as much as playfully teasing his on-screen brother Ewan Mitchell by pestering him with theories of Mitchell's character. And let's not forget that him and Barry Keoghan also go way back to Tom's debut movie 'Dunkirk'.
Ewan Mitchell
Tumblr media
The Mask of Zorro is one of those movies you can watch every week and not tire of.
He likes the idea of a masked man with a somewhat troubled past being the hero and will find a way to make it about his character Aemond Targaryen. Whatever you watch, there will always be a parellel drawn. He just loves him too much.
Matt Smith
Tumblr media
Gremlins, especially the first installment, is just a whimsical movie that will always remain entertaining.
Die Hard would be a runner up, but he just enjoys the sillyness that Gremlins has. And it is even better knowing that it used to be a feared horror movie.
Joseph Morgan
Tumblr media
Joseph is a big fan of scifi movies, especially Star Wars.
His favorites would be the old movies with Han Solo, but you also like to watch the ones with Anakin Skywalker, interested in the arc of him turning into Darth Vader.
Daniel Gillies
Tumblr media
Fifty Shades of Grey.
You both love making fun of how bad the movie truly is, jokingly making headcannons about the story to try and make it better. But failing.
Paul Wesley
Tumblr media
Deadpool is one of his favorite movies to watch with you.
Deadpool & Wolverine would probably be his favorite. He loves how unhinged they are and Ryan Reynolds is just a comedy legend. His favorite character would be Dogpool.
Ian Somerhalder
Tumblr media
The Graduate is his favorite film, but he enjoys it even more when he watches it with you.
He likes the more classical and old movies and discussing them afterwards while finishing your snacks and tea, or Bourbon, especially because there is something nostalgic about movies made before Hollywood became as big as it is. He enjoys the simplicity of the old school.
Chris Wood
Tumblr media
The Scream franchise are fun movies to watch, whether it's Halloween or early August.
He likes the first two because they're new and they're classics, but the first installment of the reboot is also up there, being more creepy and gory. He will also probably be performing songs from the parody musical.
Jensen Ackles
Tumblr media
The Silence of the Lambs is a thrilling movie that with the brilliance that is Anthony Hopkins will never be a bad watch.
It's a little spooky, has some humor and shows one of the greatest characters brought to life by Hopkins. While other movies in the franchise are enjoyable, nothing can truly top the brilliance of the original.
Jared Padalecki
Tumblr media
Good Will Hunting is a movie that means a lot to Jared, especially with the passing of Robin Williams (RIP).
The movie gives a good and well-read view into the psychy of Matt Damon's character Will. Especially the line 'Some people can never believe in themselves, until someone believes in them,' is a line that really hits home for him.
Matthew Daddario
Tumblr media
Grown Ups (RIP Cameron Boyce) is just a fun-loving movie to watch in whatever mood you're in.
It is a campy and funny movie that doesn't require any deep thinking, which is especially good after a long day of work. You can just relax, grab a bite and cuddle up on the couch without worrying about anything else but each other.
Dominic Sherwood
Tumblr media
James Bond might be a classic British franchise, but it's always fun.
There's plenty of movies in the franchise with plenty of actors stepping into the shoes of the titular character, so you can always pick another movie in the franchise and by the time you've seen all, you probably won't remember all of the one you started with. The ones that will probably be played most are those with Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan or Sean Connery (RIP). There will probably also be a lot of teasing with you trying to convince him to audition to be the next Bond.
Dylan O'Brien
Tumblr media
Never Been Kissed.
Are you even surprised? It's Dylan's favorite movie as it's a funny and cute movie. He will however probably be mouthing along the words as you watch.
Tom Holland
Tumblr media
Spider-Man has been Tom's favorite for almost all of his life.
Whether it is Andrew Garfield or Toby Maguire behind the mask, as long as it is not him because, like most actors, he doesn't like watching himself. But they're funny and have enough action to keep your attention.
Josh Hutcherson
Tumblr media
Josh likes scary movies, but with you his favorite would be Saw.
It's creepy and bloody and has a hint of mystery to it. He especially likes the way you curl up against him and hide your face in his shoulder with the scary moments or the scenes that make your skin crawl.
Tom Blyth
Tumblr media
An underrated movie that he loves to watch with you is the trilogy of Sissi, Die Junge Kaiserin with Romy Schneider as Elisabeth.
The original movies are old and mostly forgotten and skipped as they lack the sense of excitement in today's movies. But that old school feeling is one of the things he likes about it. It's romantic and very sweet and also brings out the romantic in him.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first oc is mei lynn, her whole backstory is basically that she's SUUPER unlucky, like really REALLY bad luck, and on her way 2 school she did isekai'd, fell through the air, landed in a lake and broke her leg ^^
n the second oc is florian, his nickname is driam, hes a dragon shifter, meaning he has a full dragon form (which i haven't drawn yet), a half dragon-half human form, and a fully human form (i haven't drawn this yet either), n his backstory is that his parents who were also dragon shifters [and unapollogetically so] were killed by discriminatory humans who beleive shifters shouldn't be aloud rights called hunters, so he usually just parades around as a human, the only people who know hes a dragon shifter are his partners, (havent drawn them yet but he has 2 partners; his boyfriend abbie who's a cat shifter and his girlfriend mira, whos a mage that specializes in ice, water, and healing magic) and bestfriends, (elliott, a freelance programmer who beleives everyone deserves rights, shifter or not and protests these rights happily. piper, florian's roomate before he moved in with his partners, a human who lightly dabbles in plant magic but she wouldn't consider herself a mage, her apartment is above her flower shop which she named ' The Bluebell ', its her pride and joy and she hired mira to set up protection runes around the shop that activate when they close up for the night. and mikhail, whos a demon that refuses to make a deal with anyone for anything out of fear theyll hurt them because a deal with a demon always backfires on the person making the deal with them because a demon always wins in the deal they make, and demons are just angels who were abandoned by their patron god/goddess, mikhail's patron goddess was the goddess of the night and stars, he was abandonded by her out of hope that the mistreatment he got for being an angel would lessen and in a way it did because in the end he found a family.)
this post wasnt sposed 2 b about my ocs but it was fun to write about...
next post i do will most likely be alot of headcanons for alot of different fandoms !!

hi im sick and delerious but i want to say that i look up to your art so much... not only that but the way you write, characterize, and tell stories is so fascinating — to name a few i love the fillyjonk origins post and the dialogue of both moominpappa confrontations and the fuzzy Mafia au and of course the sun dog au!!! youve inspired me so so much and your comics motivate me to let myself indulge more into the fandom and make my own stuff (tho it will take a bit of confidence to post it, thats another story)
anyways, love rant aside, im curious : do you have any characters of your own, unrelated to fandoms? if so id love to see them/hear you talk about them !!
(ahem, and if you have time id also love to hear your writing process and how you structure comics to tell a story... sorry if this question doesnt make sense the sickness is catching up to me)
bye now im off to make a warm mug of milk to cure The Soul
AAAAAAAAA THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! It really means alot to me and that my stuff inspires you!! 💕
I had my own non-fandom OCs waaaayyy back before I even entered the SU fandom and back when Sony Sketch had a social media feature (which was ages ago - around 2015 to 2017 I think?) and I haven't touched them at all. Alot of them were random characters I made up while drawing or here-and-there concepts I just wanted to make, and quite a few of them were inspired by Greek mythology since I had a hyperfixation on it for a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I still have a few more but I couldn't squeeze them into a collage format)
They were a surprisingly diverse cast that didn't necessarily belong in the same world but I always had alot of ideas that I needed to get out and they didn't necessarily have to be used or drawn more times (although it would be very interesting for me to redraw/redesign a few of these fellas)
As for my comic making process? Hmm... I don't think I have anything too helpful to say. When I make a comic I start out with an idea I really wanna draw, it can be either a vague concept or a fully formed conversation/scene. I go into my drawing program and do the drawing first, then the dialog. It's a matter of going with the flow - sometimes the dialog you write isn't the dialog you thought about in your head earlier and that's perfectly fine, the main goal I have with my comics is getting ideas out there or to get a laugh from atleast one person out there.
My comics outside of the SunDog AU aren't any serious business and my mindset for them isn't super serious either. They're not meant to be the next Watchmen or Deadpool and that's okay! They don't even have to look good or be super well-written, they're fandom comics meant to fill a small niche and only a few would appreciate and that's it! It's about the fun of it!

Ok but, if love to hear about some of your super heroes someone. Man if you haven't played Stardew Valley in a while you should, they recently updated it and added some cool new stuff. Also I totally get the shibari thing. I don't sketch or draw but I think it's very aesthetically pleasing in a non perverted way and can see how it's be a fun excessive in posing and angles and such, especially with some of the more extravagant artistic shibari. Do you have a PC and what consoles do you have? Sorry to hear that about your friend, I know even if you're growing apart loading a friend can suck really bad.
Thank you for this ask, also.
I so wanna see how the new updates look in Stardew, like there's a new island to explore? And whole new fruits? (My wine aging casks in the cellar are a vital part of my little operation bringing in cash every day so new fruit to make wine with is exciting to me, baha) And yeah, like even being like ten years in on one playthrough there are still so many trophies I want to attempt when I start it up again. Even though some of them depend on being a traitor and siding with Joja mart in a new save.
For consoles have my slightly battered PS4, which has weathered two moves and multiple corrupted data reboots sadly, and may need puttin out to pasture soon 🥲🥲🥲 Im really strapped for cash and the thought of pricing a PS5 or something as a replacement and Im trying to be like hold on old girl just one more 700 meg download of a DLC for me
I also have a Nintendo Switch handheld with, like, two games loaded that my friend James sent me, it's second hand and I do not love the controller drift but I really enjoyed Pokemon Sword and the remaster of Skyward Sword a lot!
And also my GBA, that thing will outlive me and I still have a dozen games for it. First edition, I got it for Xmas 2001, it has followed me my entire adult life.
And yeah, you get it! I truly believe all art has validity to it, even horny art has it's niche as expression.
And man I would love to talk the heroes I created in high school, it's just such a thing that I might be here all night 😅😅😅 It started, oddly enough, with me mimicking cartoons. Idk if like anyone remembers, there was a bad, old Avengers cartoon on Fox in the 90's. (It was. Bad. They all had armor, nonsensically) so starting in middle school, using that as a jumping off point, I created Avengers in Armor ripoffs I called the Detectives. And they were my first real attempt, middle school wise, to do more than just random comics. I took spiral bound notebooks and I just began filling them up. And I was experimenting, tinkering all the time, because creating an experience that was as much as I cojld make it LIKE a comic book, in that it was very crudely drawn anatomically bad figures from a middle schooler. But the formula began taking shape, the notebook pages became stock, nine panel grids and from there I just filled page after page with ongoing adventures of this team.
Now. The Detectives. Sucked. And even in 8th-9th grade, I was losing interest in them because that Avengers show I took the germ of inspiration for their adventures from didnt even last that long, and I was getting into other stuff. Harry Potter. Blade Runner. Toonami cartoons, MUCH better shit than Fox Kids. I began using that and started cranking out more and more heroes.
Killed the Detectives, just wholesale had them wiped out, they sucked.
But I began building a universe of heroes beyond them, starting with a Harry Potter sort of pastiche that I also used as a commentary on high school and he was a little bit okay a lot like me, named Johnny Dreamer. And then other heroes in Johnny's world. And then, another comic, which I brilliantly named Systems Crash, about a dark anti-hero named Downfall (total Deadpool ripoff) and a Supergirl pastiche I based off a friend of mine. And just on and on. The notebooks began bursting with content, and I was riding some fucking lightning pushing these out and not doing any schoolwork. I was creating a little shared universe.
Like I said, I remember it all too well. It's just there doesnt seem to be any getting it back 😅 which makes me sad.
And yeah. Story of my life a bit, friends leave. It never stops being hard, when people who spoke to me every day begin texting less and less and move on with their lives, but it feels like Im just not... worth it? Idk it does make being friends with people hard for me.
So uh.
Thank you for the questions, honestly

Twelve Days of Rarepairs: Scydia/McMartin | Scott McCall x Lydia Martin (Teen Wolf)
Requested by @wonderdoves & anonymous
"This place is…"
Scott can't even think of a word. He just gazes ahead of them in wonder and awe. For miles, all he can see is snow. A thick white blanket of it covering the entire path ahead, the roads, the cobblestoned buildings, the trees—god, even the trees feel like something out of a fairytale, with long, twisting branches that have a dusting of snow themselves. And it's still going, trying to make them part of the scenery, too.
"You'd think you'd never seen snow before," Lydia teases.
"I haven't—not like this! California's snow is nothing compared to this."
Lydia just smiles, a certain fondness in her eyes. She squints up at the sky, her nose wrinkling slightly, their suitcases dragging along through the snow behind them as they continue their way from the ferry port. Something else that Scott is admittedly still in amazement over; he'd never actually been on a ferry before.
It's just a good thing that the snow stopped long enough for them to actually reach Ireland, or else they'd have still been holed up in their cabin, stuck somewhere in the middle of the sea. Not the worst scenario he can think of, to be fair. But he's glad, nonetheless, because this is so much better.
"I don't know," Lydia says. "I think I prefer the warm winters. I'm just hoping that Gran and Nana make their hot chocolate like they used to when I was younger, I'm telling you, it's the best thing ever."
Scott smiles, finally looking at Lydia as they come to a stop outside a two-storey, cobbled house with a gate around the garden. Her cheeks are flushed from the cold, her nose a pale pink. Snowflakes have clung to her green hat, along the shoulders of her matching green coat, and to her eyelashes. There's a gleam of pure excitement and joy beneath them as she stares at the house.
When she takes a deep breath, it returns like a puff of smoke. Scott gently squeezes her hand and holds it up in his own, bringing her gloved knuckles to his lips.
"You look nervous," he tells her softly.
"A little," Lydia says, nodding. "Only because I haven't been here since I was… nine? And there's so much to tell them. I mean, I know my mom filled them in on pretty much everything, but still."
Scott nods as well, saying, "I know. It's a lot. But it'll be okay."
"Yeah, of course," Lydia agrees. Her smile seems a little more confident as she gives another nod.
They walk through the gate, into the garden that Scott's now seeing is teeming with things; empty plant pots, kids toys, an overturned bicycle. Even the stones of the house are more interesting than he had initially realized, with bright murals painted across the whole front of the house.
As soon as they enter the house, the door closing behind them, they're hit with unexplainable warmth. And the shouting and giggling of kids that whiz past them, nearly knocking them off their feet.
"I forgot how loud it gets here," Lydia says, but she's laughing. Scott can see it in her eyes as she looks around the entrance hall, beautifully decorated with lengths of tinsel, and handcrafted baubles hanging from the ceiling.
Framed pictures line the walls up the stairs as far as he can. The closest one, hanging by the bottom of the stairs, has a familiar little girl, giving her biggest smile to the camera beside a young woman with a striking resemblance.
"Is this you?" Scott asks, his smile wide.
Lydia looks at the photo. "Oh god, yeah. I think that was when I was, like… six? I came up here every Christmas and New Year before my parents divorced. That's my gran."
"You look like her," Scott tells her, and he can hear the joyful skip of heart, hear it in her proud little hum of agreement.
"Well, maybe without some of the grey hair," a voice says from behind them.
They both turn around, and Lydia's face lights up. She's already squealing and dropping her suitcase and Scott's hand.
"Gran!" Lydia practically flies at her, hugging her tightly.
Her gran laughs, caught by surprise but only for a second, wrapping her up in her arms. "I've missed you too, Ariel!"
"Haven't heard that name in a while," someone else says, with a distinctively more Irish accent, but still holding the same fond, overjoyed tone.
Scott looks at the woman who appears at their side from the room behind Lydia and her gran. He recognizes her instantly from all the photos.
Maddy places a hand on Lorraine's shoulder as she and Lydia pull apart. Lydia looks on the verge of tears as she buries herself into Maddy's open embrace as well for a second, both laughing now.
"And you…" Lorraine looks over Scott with a smile and a gleam in her eyes. A certain kind of knowing. "... You're Scott McCall."
Scott returns her smile and nods. "I am. I've heard a lot about you, Mrs. Martin."
"Yeah, I know a thing or two about you as well," Lorraine tells him, and he knows.
He knows she isn't just talking about him and Lydia being together, but about everything. The deadpool. She knew who he was and what he was going to be before he even hit ten.
For a moment, his worries from the ferry come back. Not all supernatural creatures are a fan of each other, and with the destruction that werewolves have a history of causing, banshees can't be that fond of them. And especially with everything that's happened to Lydia.
But then her smile grows and she says, "I'm glad to finally meet you! And, please, call me Lorraine. This is my wife, Maddy."
"So, this is the little wolf that got your heart, huh?" Maddy jokes to Lydia, an arm around her shoulders.
Lydia looks at Scott. She bites her bottom lip through her smile, and her eyes are saying everything.
She nods and softly says, "Yeah. He is."
"Then you're more than welcome here," Lorraine says.
Relief starts to lift the weight off of Scott's shoulders and chest. The warm, welcoming atmosphere is hard to resist, and he's already feeling at home.
-
Lydia was right. The hot chocolate is one of the best things he's ever had. Creamy and overflowing with marshmallows with a candy cane to stir it around. Not to mention the plate of cookies. He has never had a gingerbread man that tastes this good.
It's already dark outside, the sun having set an hour or two after they arrived. They already changed into warmer, more comfortable clothes, and settled in front of the fireplace in the living room to get rid of the chill from the snow. Lorraine and Maddy insisted. Didn't want them getting sick, and ignoring their protests about not being able to actually get sick.
"Your cousins don't look like they're having a good time," Scott comments quietly, watching the half-asleep couple sitting in the corner.
"They have five kids, all under the age of ten," Lydia replies. "I think the only thing they can feel right now is exhausted."
Scott snorts. He looks around the room. He's met nearly everyone on this side of the family by now. Every cousin, second cousin, aunts, uncles. The kids that Lorraine and Maddy took in have been especially eager to meet him.
His attention is drawn back to the little boy sitting cross-legged in front of him. He's only nine.
Scott wasn't expecting it when Lorraine and Maddy told him that around ten years ago, another banshee had found them. She was only nineteen and had no one and no idea what was going on with her. They took her in, Lorraine helped her. And from then, it's like their home was its own supernatural beacon, but for kids who had nowhere else to go.
Sean, the little boy currently sneaking another gingerbread man from the plate, is a werewolf. His family, his pack, were hunted down when he was four. Lorraine felt it coming. She and Maddy found Sean.
There's a little yelp and Sean clutches his hand. Scott catches a glimpse of tiny claws where nails should be.
"Can I…?" he asks, holding out a hand.
Sean hesitates, but he glances at Lydia, who smiles and nods encouragingly, then back at Scott. He slowly gives him his hand, palm up.
"I don't know how to control it…" Sean mutters, looking down sheepishly.
Scott inspects where the small trickle of blood is coming from. Three little lines where his claws accidentally caught his skin in passing.
Shaking his head, Scott speaks gently, and draws on the pain in Sean's hand. "It's okay. You're still learning."
"Yeah, it's actually harder for born wolves," Lydia chimes in, nodding convincingly when Sean lifts his eyes to her with curiosity. "You'd think it was the other way around, but one of our friends—he was born a werewolf."
"And he didn't learn until he was sixteen," Scott tells him. "It just takes time."
"And knowing what keeps you grounded," Lydia adds. "Your anchor."
Sean looks at Scott. "Do you have an anchor?"
Scott nods. "I do. I had to learn to let me be my own anchor, but when that doesn't work for me, I focus on all the people I love. My mom, my best friend, my pack."
He glances at Lydia only to find her already gazing at him with the softest smile, her cheek leaning against her shoulder. She places a kiss to his shoulder, her hand resting on her arm for a second.
"You just need to find something that makes you feel more in control," Scott finishes, turning back to Sean. "Even if it's an emotion."
Sean nods slowly. His expression is one of deep thought, trying to work to figure out what his own anchor could be.
"Now, you should go clean this up," Scott says. "Just run it under warm water with some soap, okay? It might sting a little, but just ask Lorraine or Maddy if they have any antibiotic cream, and then put a bandage on it."
"Are you a doctor?" Sean asks.
"No," Scott can't help but grin as he says, "I'm just a vet."
That answer only seems to confuse Sean. But he gets up and hurries off to go do what Scott instructed.
When Scott turns back, Lydia's still watching him. She has this look on her face, a thoughtful glaze in her eyes and a certain kind of smile that he can't read.
Chuckling, Scott asks, "What is it?"
She lets a beat pass. She shakes her head, takes a slow breath in, then looks over at the window instead.
"It's still snowing. Do you wanna sit in the garden? There's a nice bench out back."
Scott's eyebrows furrow a little, but he stands with her, following her to the back door from the kitchen. Stepping outside is like what he'd imagine stepping into a walk-in freezer would feel like.
But the cold biting at his skin is unimportant. The awe hits him all over again as he takes in the sight of the garden, feeling like he just stepped into a fairytale instead. Everywhere he looks, everything is white and sparkling. From the entire ground, to the gazebo at the end of the garden.
Somehow, in amidst it all, there are flowers. Whole roses and everything, snow dusting across their dark red petals.
"This is…" Scott breathes out, his eyes wide, "... I don't even know what this is. This place doesn't feel real."
Lydia laughs gently. She wraps her arms around her and nods, looking around as the snow falls around them.
"Yeah, it does feel kind of… magical."
"We could actually make a snowman," Scott continues. "Or have a real snowball fight. Are snow angels things that people actually do?"
Lydia's eyebrows are raised when he looks back at her, and she's shaking her head. But she's got a smile that stretches to the corners of her eyes and he can feel emotions radiating off of her.
"You are so dorky." She moves closer, wrapping her arms around the back of his neck. "And I love you."
Scott smiles. His voice is soft and giving away all of the fondness he feels for her when he says, "And I love you."
She leans in, her head tilting. Her lips are soft against his. He pulls her a little closer, his arms wrapping around her waist. The cold and even the snow is easier to ignore.
Lydia pulls back, her hands lingering on his shoulders. Scott doesn't let go at all.
"I'm really glad you're here with me," Lydia tells him. "And my whole family now loves you, so that's a nice bonus. I think you even made a friend."
Scott grins, shrugging. "Your family is great, and I am… beyond relieved that they like me. And, I think with Sean, it's a werewolf thing."
"Oh, no." Lydia shakes her head firmly. "Maybe that's a small part of it, the whole Alpha thing and all, but all of the kids in there love you."
They pull apart. Lydia sits down on the bench. Scott follows, and can't help but start piling the snow from the arm of the bench into a ball in his hand.
"You were amazing with Sean," Lydia comments, glancing at him. She's doing the same thing with the snow on her side.
Scott shrugs again. "I just told him the same as I told Liam. And Alec. It's how I wish I could have been introduced to all of this. With someone reassuring me that it would be okay."
Lydia nods in a shared understanding. Neither of their starts in the supernatural word were exactly pleasant or comforting. Scott's only sorry that Lydia was brought into it the way she was.
She rests a hand on top of his, curling her fingers beneath his palm. She squeezes gently.
He knows that she can tell what he's thinking. Sometimes he worries that banshees have the ability to read minds as well. But the look she gives him and her hand there with his draws his thoughts away from the past. Everything is okay. It's better than okay.
"It's amazing what your gran and nana have done, though," Scott says. "Taking in supernatural kids who have nowhere else to go."
"Yeah, it's like a little foster home, but… for werewolves, banshees, and everything else," Lydia jokes, but her smile is sincere. "It's a really good thing they're doing. The kids are so happy here."
"I can see why," Scott says, gazing back out across the garden. The snow has the sky practically glowing, in no way looking like it's dark enough to be night.
There's a slight pressure against his hand from Lydia's fingers, moving slowly.
"Do you… do you think that's something you'd ever want to do?" Lydia asks, careful with her words.
Scott looks back at her. She's watching him again, with curious eyes. His heart drops many beats.
"Wait, are you—?" he starts to ask, but Lydia's eyes widen and she quickly shakes her head.
"No!" she hastens to answer. "No, I'm not! I just meant… you know, in general, is it—is it something that you can see for the future? Not necessarily the foster home part, but… you know."
She chews her bottom lip. Scott takes it in, letting the question process. After a moment, a smile curves the corners of his mouth up.
"Imagine, the first werewolf-banshee hybrid," he says.
"That can't have been done before," Lydia agrees, a laugh to her voice. "I wonder if one side would skip them, or if we'd be creating a whole new species."
Scott actually does laugh now, and Lydia joins him. His stomach is buzzing with butterflies or bees, he can't tell.
When they both go quiet, Scott slowly nods. He lifts his eyes to meet Lydia's.
"I like the sound of that," he says softly. "Whether it be a werewolf-banshee hybrid, or even an orphaned werewolf with nobody else… yeah. It's something I see for the future."
Lydia takes in a deep breath. She presses her lips together as her smile threatens to take over her entire face. She just nods, and breathes out slowly.
"Good to know," she says. "I do too, for the record."
"Okay, that's great," Scott says, grinning from ear to ear.
Lydia hums in agreement. Then the ball of snow that she'd been forming hits him square in the chest.
It's safe to say that it is freezing. The snow instantly seeps through his Christmas jumper, melting into his skin. He gasps while Lydia laughs behind her hands, hee eyes wide.
"You said you wanted a snowball fight…" she reminds him.
Scott nods. "You're absolutely right. I did."
The ball of snow in his own hand hits Lydia. She gasps, snow sticking to her jumper as well now.
"Oh my god, so cold!" she exclaims. "Why is that so cold?!"
"Because it's real snow," Scott says, his excitement quickly returning.
Lydia looks at him, her eyes narrowing. A familiar, competitive smirk forms on both their faces.
"Game on," she says.
Next second, they're trying to dodge out of the other's way, snowballs flying across the garden. There are gasps and shouts and laughter when they successfully land a shot.
Maybe it's a little unfair that Scott taps into his heightened abilities to move faster. But the advantage doesn't stop Lydia from managing to sneak up on him and tackle him into the snow. It's so deep that they sink a few inches into it, laughing until their sides and faces ache, and neither of them actually win, both claiming they did. But they end up just lying there in the freezing snow, curled into each other, staring up at the night sky.

Note
hey, deadpool! i was wondering if i could request a life tarot reading for my lifetime as N Harmonia from pokemon b&w-- while i've had this kin for a while, i'm still not particularly sure what to make of the lifetime as a whole. thank you in advance! <3
Tumblr media
Hi, N! I'd be happy to do that for you. Let's get started.
Overall vibes:
Nine of Cups (Reversed); Dissatisfaction.
The Nine of Cups in it's reversed position represents someone who doesn't feel fulfilled. It's a card that represents someone who's been wishing or hoping for something, only to find their dreams haven't come to fruition.
How you perceived yourself:
(Dead note: Uhhhh! We got three. Sometimes multiple cards just want to get drawn. Sometimes all three of them are Major Arcana.)
Death; Change.
Death here represents that it's likely you saw yourself as a new beginning. You were convinced that you were heralding the end to something and bringing new life into it.
The Star; Hope.
The Star represents to me that you were someone who was full of hope, who despite all odds was driven to bring about that change.
Judgement; Atonement.
Judgement as the final character card tells me that it's likely you had something to atone for when all was said and done. It's a card that literally means "you reap what you sow" and it represents the end of cycles.
How others perceived you:
Three of Pentacles; Teamwork.
The Three of Pentacles indicates to me to me that you were a valued member of a team, that maybe those people who valued you wished you were more inclined to working with them towards a common goal though.
A source of conflict:
(Dead note: UHH. THREE AGAIN.)
Four of Pentacles (Reversed); Manipulation.
The reversed Four of Pentacles represents lies and manipulation, materialism and greed. It indicates that perhaps you weren't being treated fairly.
Ace of Swords (Reversed); Recklessness.
The reversed Ace of Swords represents reckless decisions and poor judgement. It represents emotions clouding your way of thinking and an inability to see things logically at times.
Ace of Cups (Reversed); Emotional.
Following the Ace of Swords, the reversed Ace of Cups represents a lack of control over emotions and bursting out in unhealthy ways.
A source of joy:
(Dead note: Man, my deck likes you. Two here.)
Five of Swords; Conflict.
Since this is a positive spot in the draw, a usually negative card represents it's opposite. The Five of Swords here represents that you were not often at odds with the people you were close to, that conflict wasn't common.
Queen of Cups; Nurturing.
The Queen of Cups represents to me that you were caring and compassionate, that you loved to take care of the people you loved.
Someone you were close to:
Queen of Wands (Reversed); Insecure.
The Queen of Wands represents an individual lacking in confidence, someone who has lost their fire or feels uninspired.
Someone you disliked:
(Dead note: Would you laugh if I say you got two again? Are my cards just sticky? Is my deck mocking me?)
Seven of Pentacles (Reversed); Destructive.
The Seven of Pentacles represents someone who was a foil to your plans, who made it hard for you to advance in some way.
Four of Cups; Apathy.
The Four of Cups indicates to me that this individual was apathetic, uncaring and likely caused you to feel as if you weren't being heard.
I decided to throw in some Oracle cards because my tarot deck liked you so much.
The Stag (Reversed); Pride.
The Stag represents someone who was may too prideful at times, that maybe you used your inflated ego to hide feelings of inadequacy. The Stag also represents sacrifice and it's importance to you.
Moon Card: "Adjustments are required."
