Horror Movie Night๐Ÿ˜ˆ - Alastor x Reader
Tumblr media
Charlie wanted to find an activity to bring everyone together, since a lot of the personalities in the hotel would clash. She had made a list of ideas, but majority of them were turn down for being too childish. The last option was a movie night with everyone, and surprisingly everyone agreed. The genre of movie was the real problem. Charlie wanted a musical. Vaggie had a preference for drama. Angel dust preferred either a steamy flick (aka porn) or comedy. Niffty voted for romance. Husk didn't really care, but he wouldn't be upset if it was an action movie. Sir Pentious was interested in historical / documentaries. Alastor was not a big fan of modern technology especially television, but he would give it a try if the movie was a horror. You enjoyed all genres of movies, so it didn't matter which one you saw. Coming up with an idea, you suggested pulling a name out of the hat, to decide the genre of movie that gets picked. Borrowing Husk's hat for a bit, everyone wrote their name on a piece of paper and tossed it in. After a quick shake, you grabbed the first piece of paper and pulled it out.
Yelp, looks like it was going to be a horror movie as Al's was the name you pulled out. Everyone had made their way to the couch, while some of them sat on the floor. They were all dressed in their pajamas. Niffty had made popcorn and drinks for everyone to enjoy during the movie. Charlie was lighting some candles to add some effect when the movie was playing. Next to you on the couch was Alastor. He was wearing a red stripped top, and black lounge pants. He seemed very cozy. "Hey Al. What movie did you pick?" Alastor looked at you, smiling big as always. 'Well my dear, I picked whatever seemed interesting! I hope you will enjoy it!" Giving an awkward smile back, your eyes turned toward the TV as soon as Charlie pressed play. You didn't mind horror movies, but being the scaredy cat that you were, they still made you scream.
The movie that Alastor picked was "The Descent." The start of the film was a bit slow, but it slowly began to build up overtime. It got to the point in the movie where the characters had entered into the large cave, to explore. Yeah, that was already a red flag. Scanning your eyes around the room, you took in everyone's reactions. Charlie and Vaggie were hugging the life out of each other. Niffty was smiling, but she was clutching on to her plushie very tightly. Angel was on edge and tried to cling on to Husk, only to be pushed back by him. Angel huffed and decided to a least grab Husk's hand for comfort, and Husk allowed that at least. Sir Pentious was cowering on the floor, wrapping his whole tail around him. Alastor was just smiling next to you, obviously enjoying where the movie was going. You, on the other hand, was getting a very bad feeling in your stomach as the characters kept exploring the cave. The pillow that you were holding was being used as a shield as you kept hiding behind it, waiting for something to happen.
The climax of the movie had arrived when the grotesque bat-like monster had made an appearance and proceeded to feast on one of the characters. Everyone in the room had screamed and jumped, including you, as you covered your face with the pillow. There was a chuckle to your right as Alastor was laughing, at both the movie and your adorable reactions. From the start of the film, Al was seeking glances at you, wondering what your next reaction would be. The face you made when the dread set in was highly entertaining to him. However, he did pity you a bit, as he could see that the movie was frightening you tremendously. Unbeknownst to you, you felt someone drape their arm behind your shoulders, pulling your body closer towards them. Looking up from the pillow, it was clear that it was Al who had done it. His eyes were still watching the movie, clearly enjoying the gruesome moments. Not saying a word, you continued to watch the movie, but the feelings of fear had diminished a bit due to Alastor's actions. The movie had finally ended, as the credits began to flash on the screen. Everyone gave a sigh of relief, except Al . Clapping with glee, he found the movie quite invigorating. Vaggie rolled her eyes at him, while whispering "creepy weirdo" under her breath. It had gotten super late, so it was time to head for bed.
Wishing everyone a good night sleep, you carried yourself back to your room, despite the prickling sensation that you felt crawling up your back. That movie was still on your mind, but you tried to push the fear away. Alastor was following from behind , since the both of you were next door neighbors. "Feeling alright, my dear? That picture show had you shaking like a leaf!" He was definitely smirking when he said that. "No sโœชโœชโœช, Sherlock." Grumbling your response back at him, you continued to make your way to your cozy abode. Having arrived at the door, you turned to Al, who had just arrived at his door. "Good night, Alastor." "You as well, my dear!" Making over to the bed, you laid down and got under the covers, adjusting yourself to get comfortable. It took a while, but the droopy feeling had taken effect on your eyes, and you fell into a deep sleep. Pitch blackness was all around you. The muscles in your body felt like they had been ripped apart. The air felt heavy, almost dry like you were underground. Something was moving around you, circling you, watching you. The monstrous sounds it made created a haunting echo. You begged your body to respond, it was no use. The sounds were coming closer. No. NO! You bellowed out a scream.
"Y/N!!" Someone was shaking you, causing your eyes to snap open. Your body was shaking and there were tears in your eyes. You slowly realized that you had a nightmare. Alastor was in front of you, hands on top of your shoulders. His glowing eyes eyeing you with concern, yet his smile was still present. "A-Al? W-what's wrong? W-why are you in m-my room?" Struggling out a response, your eyes looked at Al in confusion. "My dear, I had heard your shrieks of terror and rushed over! It appeared you were having a nightmare! A rather horrible one at that!" He was still holding on to you, which gave you some comfort. "Oh, I'm so sorry if I disturbed your sleep." Taking in a few deep breaths, helped tremendously as you were able to talk properly and control the shaking. Shaking his head, Al had let go of your shoulders, and moved his hands to your cheeks. "Darling, there is no need for you to apologize! But, may I ask what were you dreaming about?" Massaging your cheeks like a cat, Al smiled down at you, softness in his eyes. Explaining it in full detail, Al realized that the film you had witness, was the main cause of the night terror. He had known that you were scared, but not to the point it would result in you kicking and screaming in your sleep. He needed to rectify this.
"Come along, my dear!" Your body left the sanctity of your bed, and ended up in Alastors arms. He was carrying you like a bride. "W-what Al?! Where are you taking me?!" Whispering at him, while your brain was trying to wrap around this situation. Cocking his head to the side, he gave you an optimistic smile. "To my room!" There was no time to refute back as the both of you had arrived at his door. Creaking loudly, the door to his room had opened by itself. His room was like something out of a story book. One side was the normal room decor, illuminated with candle light. The walls were plastered with Alastor's personal trinkets and stag heads. The other side was saturated in moss, tall pine trees looming above. Chirps of crickets could be heard and glowing fireflies were flying around. Eyes widening in amazement, you continued to gaze around the room, earning a laugh from Al. In the center of the room, was an enormous bed, covered in satin sheets and black pillows. "How... How were you able to do this?" You breathed out, as Al placed you on the bed. Raising an eyebrow, he smiled down at you, wagging his finger. "Ah ah ah! A magician never reveals his secrets, my dear!" A thought popped in your head: "Where was he going to sleep." Snapping his fingers, Alastor used his powers to snuff out the flames from the candles, leaving only the fireflies as a source of light. Realization hit you, causing you to jump off the bed, leaving Al staring at you in confusion. "Wait Al! Are you okay with this? Sharing a bed?" Alastor looked at you, head crooked to the side. "Why of course! Are you oppose to the idea? Haven't you had your share of sleepovers with the effeminate spider?" Well yes you had, but this situation was different. "I'm not opposed to it, but I don't want you to do something you aren't comfortable with." You told Alastor this, rubbing your arm with your hand.
He was still befuddled by your statement until he began to wrap his head around of what you were saying. How charming you were! Thinking of him and his aversion to physical contact. "Darling, There is no need to worry." His body moved to crawl under the covers, sitting on the bed and looking at you. His finger pointed towards you, beckoning for you to return back to the bed. Still hesitant about the whole situation and observing his body language, it came to your decision that he was really okay with it. Your feet carried you back over, and slowly made its way under the covers, plopping your head on the pillow. Al huffed, a little annoyed that you didn't follow his instructions. He grabbed your wrist, pulling you towards him. Your head was engulfed in his chest, feeling his chin, nuzzling it. "Comfortable, Y/N?" A warm breath whispered into your ear. His voice sent chills down your back, while also causing your heart to skip a beat. "Mmph" was your response, as your mouth was muffled against his chest. Hearing a hum from above, you felt Alastor nestle closer, hooking his leg over yours. The static emanating from him had quieted down and the thumping sound of his heart sounded much clearer. Extending out a yawn, your eyelids began droop while listening to the calming sound of Al's heartbeat. Soon, your eyelids had closed and you fell into a deep sleep.
Managing to stay awake, Al had watched you, making sure you were able to relax. He never in a million years thought he would be doing something like this. He was the radio demon, the most fearsome and all powerful overlord. Everyone trembled in fear from the sight of him, yet here he was now, cuddling you in his bed. He was getting soft, which displeased him greatly, yet he couldn't help but find it comforting as well. Your very-being was changing him, in both a good and bad way. Sighing, he pushed his thoughts away as he had a busy schedule tomorrow and needed to be well rested for his broadcast. Nuzzling closer, Alastor hugged you tighter. His glowing eyes dimmed and he had fallen asleep as well.

Alastor's head snapped to the side, with a sickening crack accompanying the movement
"Show me," he snarled, his voice taking on an inhuman quality, heavily filtered by radio waves.
Without hesitation, Angel gestured towards the billboard, his expression blank.
"Get in there, and see for ya'self."
.
A few blocks away, at the Vox Tower.
The heavy door before you swung open to reveal a diner. Chandeliers hung from the lofty ceiling, the crystals casting shattered reflections of light across the expanse of golden tables below. The centerpiece of the room was an expansive aquarium, its transparent walls housing sleek, metallic sharks that glided gracefully through the rose-tinted waters.
Vox guided you inside with a hand on your back, leading you towards a secluded booth. He was dressed in a neat, crisp royal blue suit, perfectly matching the attire chosen for you by Velvette. She had dressed you in a stunning cerulean silk dress that hugged your figure in all the right places. The fabric flowed gracefully as you moved, the long skirt sweeping across the floor with every step of your white heels.
"I didn't realize there was a restaurant tucked away in here," you whispered, your eyes widening in awe as you took in the glowing ambiance of the place.
"Well, we at VoxTek are full of surprises, my dear," Vox chuckled smoothly as he moved to pull back the chair at your table. "It's quite a diverse company."
"I see," you murmured, a sense of intrigue coloring your tone. Taking a step closer, you sank into the plush seat, a soft hum of contentment escaping your lips as you settled in. Vox pushed you in before taking his seat across from you. With a snap of his finger, he gestured for a nearby waiter to approach.
Once the menus were presented, Vox glanced over at you expectantly. "Feel free to order whatever you'd like, my dear. Consider it a treat for all your hard work." A waiter slid over a tablet for the bill, and Vox pulled out a sleek black card which he quickly swiped. "Take your time. We have all night to go over your contract."
Grateful for the gesture, you returned a smile before turning your attention to the menu, scanning the options while Vox took a sip from his glass of wine, the scarlet liquid swirling.
Before the moment could continue, however, a sudden wave of static crackled through the room, causing the tables to tremble, drinks spilling and tabletop decor tumbling aside as the lights flickered erratically. Startled, Vox choked on his drink, coughing as he accidentally spilled it on himself.
You looked around in worry, confusion furrowing your brow as you whipped your head around to assess the situation. A few of the patrons were talking amongst themselves in hushed tones, their concern mirroring your own.
"What was thatโ€ฆ?" you asked, your voice barely audible above the din of the lingering static.
"Second fucking time," Vox grumbled under his breath as he attempted to wipe the wine off his crisp white dress shirt, but his efforts only seemed to smear the stain further across his chest. The crimson stain stark against the pristine fabric made it look as if he was just mauled.
With a resigned sigh, he abandoned his futile efforts and without a care in the world, tossed the soiled tablecloth back onto the table. Despite the mishap, he flashed you a reassuring smile.
"I'm sure it was nothing, my dear. Just a temporary glitch in the system. I'll have my workers look into it later," he said, waving it off.
Vox clapped his hands with a sharp, authoritative gesture, summoning a few waiters to swiftly clean up your table and retrieve the menus from your hands. They rushed over with a sense of urgency, their movements swift as they began tidying up the contents, the clatter of plates and silverware echoing through the air.
Meanwhile, a tall, slim blonde receptionist approached, her steps slow as she made her way towards Vox. Her slender fingers pushed her slim red glasses up on the bridge of her nose, accentuating the sharpness of her eyes as she addressed you both with a polite nod of her head.
"Mister Vox," she began, tapping a pen along her clipboard. "I have a few tables available for you upstairs. Would you like to transfer while we get the ground floor cleaned up?"
"Do that for us, will you?" Vox nodded, standing from the table with a sigh you couldnโ€™t hear but could see in the slump of his shoulders. Straightening up, he brushed invisible dust off the front of his jacket and suit pants with swift, agitated motions.
"This day has been nothing but shit to me. The hell even was that?" Vox muttered under his breath as he glanced down at his watch, a luxurious 10-million soul bucks carat model he had allowed himself to purchase a few moons ago. "Alright. Time is ticking. Let's not waste any more time and move somewhere else, love."
With a nod, you followed suit and stood up, mirroring his movements as you prepared to leave the table. But before you could take a step, another round of static swept through the room, much stronger this time. The vibrations pulsed through the floor, causing you to stumble and grasp onto the table for support. The lights flickered and dimmed before abruptly going out, enveloping the room in darkness.
"What the fuck?" Vox snarled, the glow of his screen casting eerie shadows in the darkened environment as he turned sharply to the receptionist, the faint illumination of his face acting as a temporary flashlight.
"Get this checked out, will you?" Vox hissed.
"Of course, Mister Vox," the receptionist nodded briskly, maintaining her composure despite the chaos unfolding around her. Her pen scratched against the paper as she made a note of his request. "I'll have someone look into it right away."
"Satan. Alright, come on, doll," Vox called for you and slipped his hand into yours, interlocking them together with a firm grip. Reluctantly, you accepted his hand, feeling a sense of unease creeping over you as you followed him towards the staircase.
Together, you ascended the steps, the lingering sensation of static still hanging heavily in the air like an ominous fog. Another wave swept through the atmosphere, causing your skin to tingle with prickles and sending a shiver coursing up your spine.
Something was off.
The second floor was eerily quiet, devoid of the bustling activity in the ground floor. The subdued murmurs of the remaining patrons echoed faintly against the walls. You noticed that some of the only patrons left were already making their way down the stairs, their hurried footsteps punctuating the hushed atmosphere as they descended the glass steps.
As you scanned the area, your eyes landed on a TV perched high on the wall. Whatever show had been playing before was now reduced to nothing but static and glitches, its wires crackling with electricity like an angry serpent. Thin wisps of smoke curled up from the tangled mess.
"Doll?" Vox turned his head, catching your wandering eyes with a knowing look.
"I apologize for all this trouble, my dear, but worry not, everything will be handled in a jiffy," he reassured you, his thumb tracing soothing circles over your skin as he guided you by the railings.
Leaning his elbows against the metal, he took your hand into both of his, kneading and caressing it as he grumbled to himself. "If I knew this was going to happen, I would have taken you out another night."
"Well, there's no way you could have seen that coming," you muttered as you turned your gaze towards the ground floor. Below, various demons and imps scurried around, attempting to manage the chaos. With a shrug, you moved to lean against the railings, the cool metal soothing against your skin.
Resting your cheek on your free hand, you continued, "I mean, there's always another day. We can even hash out the contract right now."
At your words, Vox visibly deflated, a wry smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he cast you a dry look. "Always so professional, are you?"
"Yes?" you replied with a nod, tilting your head in genuine curiosity. "Is that bad?"
"No, not at all," Vox huffed, a barely concealed smile playing at the corners of his lips as he pulled you closer to him. "It's actually quite charming."
With a yelp, you stumbled into his arms, your hands pressing against his chest for balance. Vox leaned in further, his left hand coming to rest on your back, his touch gentle yet firm as he looked deep into your eyes.
"But would it be bad to say I wanted something more?" he murmured, a pinkish gradient tint glowing softly on his screen, casting a warm and inviting glow across his features.
You blinked, caught off guard by his sudden intimacy. "Something more?" you echoed, your voice barely above a whisper.
His gaze softened, his thumb gently tracing the curve of your cheek, his touch tender against your skin.
"Yes, my dear," he murmured, trailing his thumb down to press and part your lips. "Somethingโ€ฆ personal."
"I-I don't really get what you're telling me," you stammered, your heart pounding in your chest. As Vox leaned in closer and closer, you found yourself backing away until you could no longer retreat, your back arching dangerously over the railings.
"Then perhaps it's best if I show you," he whispered, his voice barely above a breath, as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box.
Popping the lid open, a familiar golden band sat inside, glimmering softly in the dim light of the room. Your eyes widened with recognition, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
"My ring," you gasped, your fingers trembling slightly as you reached out to pluck the precious jewelry from its box. However, your hand halted in midair as you noticed an unfamiliar engraving gleaming on its honey-colored surface. A wavy symbol was etched onto it, its silver detailing standing out against the smooth gold of the ring.
"Vox, what'sโ€ฆ what's this?" you asked, your voice trembling slightly as your eyes darted back and forth between the two sights. You could feel a hot fire starting to coil in your gut, your skin already slowly cracking. "What'd you do?"
Vox's expression remained impassive for a moment before softening with a touch of vulnerability. "It's a symbol, my dear," he explained, his voice gentle as he slowly took your hand and raised it to his lips. "A symbol of ourโ€ฆ partnership."
"Partnership?" you echoed, your eyes tracing the movement of his lips as he pressed a gentle kiss to your fingers.
"You'd make a good wife," he blurted out, catching you off guard. Your gaze shot up to meet his, wide with surprise, as his declaration hung in the air between you. "I could provide for you. I could make you happy. Give you anything, anything you want."
A clawed hand, its digits tipped with sharp, pointed nails, delicately plucked the ring out of its velvet cushion. Taking your hand in his, he gently slipped the ring onto your finger, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. Before you could even process what had just happened, a wave of static washed over the room, crackling through the air like tiny bolts of lightning, causing him to curse under his breath.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" he growled.
The room trembled again as another wave of static hit, this time with greater intensity than any of the past waves. The floors shook beneath your feet, the building groaned in protest, and you stumbled forward with a gasp, your knees buckling under the force of the tremors. Desperately, you reached out to grab onto Vox for support, clinging to him as the world seemed to tilt and sway around you.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed the receptionist stumbling toward you both. Her calm demeanor had vanished, replaced by frantic movements and panic in her voice.
"Sir, sir!" she huffed, her words punctuated by labored breaths as she stumbled to her feet. Her hair was disheveled, and her clothes were torn. "The building is under attack!"
"Attack?" Vox scoffed out in disbelief, his shoulders shaking from his laughter. "Who in Lucifer's name would even think of crossing me?"
The receptionist shook her head vigorously, her eyes wide with terror, strands of her disheveled hair clinging to her sweaty forehead.
"The radio demon," she rasped out, her voice barely above a whisper, laden with fear.
You froze, your hands shaking as they moved to cover your gaping mouth. Another wave of static shook the building, but your thoughts were scattered, unable to focus amidst the chaos.
Vox's grip tightened on you and the handle of the railings, his claws raking against the metal with a sharp scrape. His expression slowly shifted, the laughter fading as a dangerous seriousness settled over him. He took a deep breath, shutting his eyes briefly before looking back at the receptionist with a dark glint in his eyes, a storm brewing within him.
"What did you just say?"
Before a response could be made, an explosion thundered through the floor, sending debris and dust swirling through the air. In shock, you watched as tendrils of inky shadows began to writhe and thrash, lashing out and slamming into the walls with bone-shaking force.
A particularly powerful tendril crashed against the aquarium, its force shattering the glass and unleashing a deluge of water that flooded down through the ground floor, drowning the patrons below. The sharks were caught in the torrent, their powerful bodies tossed and thrashed about as they were swept away.
Another tendril snaked its way through the dust, wrapping around the receptionist with a vice-like grip before flinging her high into the air like a ragdoll. The desperate cries of the poor woman echoed through the room before abruptly falling silent as she slammed into a wall with a sickening thud.
"Fuckโ€”" Vox cursed, pulling you into him. His arms tightened around you protectively as he scanned the scene, his eyes darting around in search of any functioning piece of technology that could offer an escape and allow him to teleport you both out. However, his efforts proved futile; every piece of tech in the room was malfunctioning, either from the rampant waves of static or the overflow of water from the shattered aquarium.
Creak.
Suddenly, there was a deafening sound, cutting through the air and the chandelier above you both began to tilt dangerously, its crystals catching the flickering light before it started falling. Vox's curses mingled with the din as he swiftly scooped you into his arms, his muscles straining under the weight as he sprinted away just in the nick of time. With a thunderous crash, the chandelier came hurtling down, shattering into a thousand glittering fragments upon impact with the floor.
The glass shrapnel, propelled by the force of the chandelier's collapse, began to ricochet in your direction. Reacting swiftly, Vox made a split-second decision and hurled you over the railing and onto the ground floor. Screaming, you landed with a thud, the shallow water from the shattered aquarium splashing around you, soaking your dress and sending a shiver down your spine. However, Vox's own descent was less fortunate. As he jumped to follow, a few sharp glass shards found their mark, piercing his metallic body, tearing through his frame, and exposing the wires beneath.
"Ahโ€ฆ" Pushing yourself off the floor, you grappled with a moment of hazy confusion before a shock of fiery pain shot up your leg, so intense that your body instinctively recoiled, nails clawing at the flooded floors. A scream threatened to escape your lips, but you bit it back, your breath catching in your throat. Your eyes blinked rapidly against the pain, struggling to adjust to the darkness surrounding you.
Everything blurred together in a mess of shadows and rushing water. Your breaths grew heavy and frantic, your heart pounding in your chest as you began to shake from the sheer intensity of the pain.
"Dollโ€”!" Vox's voice crackled through the darkness, his form glitching and sparking from the water that seeped into his exposed circuits. Before his outstretched hand could reach you, shadowed tendrils snaked around him, yanking him away with a jolt and tossing him aside, sending him skidding into a nearby column.
You watched in horror, the dim light reflecting off the wet floor and casting eerie shadows on your face. Just then, the tendrils, like twisted serpents, slithered towards you, causing you to shut your eyes tight, bracing for the impending danger.
Time seemed to stand still as you lay there, your breaths shallow and rapid, every nerve on edge.
Still, nothing happened.
Slowly, cautiously, you dared to open your eyes, your vision blurred. As your sight cleared, you found yourself face to face with a familiar shadow.
"William?" you croaked out, your voice raspy from the exertion. William, Alastor's loyal shadow, perked up eagerly at the sound of your voice, its form undulating as it slithered around you, enveloping you in a gentle embrace.
With a weak smile, you raised a trembling hand to pat at the comforting darkness. "Hey, buddyโ€ฆ"
Your attention was abruptly torn away as a red blur darted towards the spot where Vox had been slammed into. Shock seized you, freezing you in place as you watched with wide eyes, feeling your pulse pounding against your chest and skull in a frantic rhythm.
William followed your gaze, his form stiffening as he silently scanned the area for any sign of danger. After a tense minute of no one seen nor heard, he turned back to you, his shadowy head tilting in confusion.
With quivering lips you uttered one name that had explained everything, "Alastor."
.
"Mgh!" Vox grunted as he collided with the wall. The sickening crack tore through his body as he crumpled to the floor amidst a splash of sparking wires, debris, and hanging metal. His systems went haywire, his vision obscured by flashes of glitches and static, each burst of light stabbing into his consciousness like searing knives.
Despite the system failures, Vox couldn't miss the sight of a familiar red-clad demon stalking towards him with a menacing grin etched on his face.
"You..."
Struggling to move, the overlord felt his arm pinned under debris, the weight pressing down on him like a vise, squeezing the air from his lungs. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he sucked in a breath. Each inhale felt like fire scorching his insides.
Finding the leverage, with closed eyes and clenched fists, Vox braced himself and pushed with one hand while the other pulled, every movement sending waves of torment shooting through his body like bolts of lightning.
There was a sickening crack, the sound drowned out by the deafening roar of static and electricity that erupted from him. His back arched involuntarily, nerves and sinew spasming, his body instinctively attempting to curl in on itself to shield against the onslaught of pain as he ripped his arm off. Opening his mouth to scream, Vox found no voice escaping, only a glitched, distorted wheeze.
"My, my," Alastor chuckled, his voice dripping with sadistic amusement as he watched Vox dry-heave from the pain, relishing every moment of his torment. "Good show! Ho-ho! It's always such a thrill to witness your suffering."
"Wh-Wh-What the fuck do you want, old man?" Vox's voice glitched out as he shakily got to his knees, beads of water dripping and soaking through his suit, mingling with the blood and grime that coated his skin. The stench of metallic decay hung heavy in the air, mixed with the acrid scent of burning wires.
"You've got some nerve coming for me straight at my base," he shouted out, his screen flashing with a fierce red hue. "I've got you at a disadvantage!"
Alastor raised a brow in mocking surprise, twisting his head side to side to survey the torn-up tower with exaggerated interest. "Who's at a disadvantage?" he quipped with a shrug, his tone laced with derision as he gestured casually at the chaos surrounding them.
"I'm not the one on my knees, old pal," Alastor mused, his tongue dripping with sinister amusement as he tapped his staff against the flooded floors, the sound echoing. In one, swift motion, a shadow shot out, piercing Vox's shoulder and pinning him back against the wall, the tendrils coiling around him like a vice.
"Fuck you!" Vox hissed, his anger boiling over as he shot out wires of his own. Alastor made no attempt to dodge, staying put as the wires struck through his shoulder, flesh and muscle spraying out in a grisly display. Despite the gruesome injury, Alastor seemed unfazed, tilting his head with an audible crack, his grin widening into something unsettling.
"Sloppy," Alastor spat, blood trickling down the side of his mouth and dripping down his chin. With deliberate slowness, he raised a hand to grasp at the wires, his fingers curling around them with a sickening creak as he pulled them out.
"What the fuck are you even here for?!" Vox screamed.
"Funny you should ask," Alastor mused, his empty gaze boring into Vox's screen. Shadows wrapped around his injured shoulder, forming a makeshift bandage, while his other tendrils reached out, snaking towards Vox's ankles and forcibly dragging him forward. The demon fell onto his back, briefly submerged in the water as he was pulled towards Alastor.
Humming, Alastor slammed his foot down on Vox's torn arm, eliciting a scream of pain as sparks shot out. Chuckling, the Radio Delon hand came down hard, driving Vox's own wire into his eye with a sickening crack, causing the screen to fracture in a spiderweb of cracks.
"I'm here for my wife."
"Wife?" Vox narrowed his eye at Alastor in confusion for a moment, his screen flashing with red, blue, and yellow hues, before widening in recognition at the sight of a golden glint on Alastor's mangled, clawed hands.
Immediately, he snarled, his voice barely audible over the glitches and static, "I ain't telling you shit."
"Oh," Alastor drawled slowly, twirling his cane in his hands with a devilish grin. "You will."
Alastor moved with startling speed, lunging forward to grasp Vox's arms with his bare hands. With a vicious snarl, he began to tear at Vox's chest cavity, his claws digging into the metal casing with a sickening screech as he began to pull it off. Vox screamed in pain, his systems protesting against the assault, but he fought back, unleashing a flurry of sparks and glitches in a desperate attempt to break free.
"Old piece of shit!" Vox roared, his words dripping with venom as he punctuated them with a furious pound of his fist against the ground. Leaning up, he lunged forward, his hand shooting out to scratch at Alastor's eye with a scream of rage. "Radio's fucking dead!"
"You've got quite the fight in you, don't you?" Alastor's laughter echoed through the room as he jolted back from Vox's retaliatory strike.
With a casual flick of his hand, he wiped the crimson blood from his cheek, strands of his hair falling over the new scar that marred his face. "But I'm afraid spirit won't be enough to save your worthless life."
Alastor leaned down, his muscles tensing as his fist crashed into Vox's broken eye with a crack, causing the screen to fracture further. Lifting Vox by his collar, Alastor brought him closer to his face with a snarl.
"Radio killed the video star."
Alastor's tendrils coiled like vipers ready to strike, but before he could unleash them, a sudden crash of debris behind him jolted his attention. With a swift twist of his head, he peered over his shoulder.
Against the backdrop of the dark brick wall loomed a disheveled figure, her rosy cheeks and tousled hair framing her big, doll-like eyes. The shimmering of a necklace with a delicate rose pendant around her neck caught his attention, and in an instant, he recognized you.
Your hand pressed firmly against the wall for balance, while his shadow, William, enveloped your waist, supporting your weight. The fabric of your dress clung to your drenched skin, torn in parts, with one heel missing from your sprained foot. Streaks of makeup ran down your face, smudged by tears that threatened to spill from your eyes. You sniffled, your face flushed with warmth as a burning pain spread to your throat, choking back every sob that threatened to escape.
"Alโ€ฆ"
Alastor didn't know what to do with himself.
Every muscle in his body tensed, locking him in place as if he were frozen in time. In his shock, Vox slipped from his grip, crashing to the ground in a heap of metallic clangs and crackling wires.
With cautious steps, he stepped forward, testing the waters, metaphorically and literally. To his surprise, there was no barrier, no force pushing him back, and no contract manifesting before him.
"Cher?" he called out, breathless.
The sobbing wail that escaped your lips was answer enough.
Heart pounding in his chest, Alastor rushed forward and caught you in a desperate hug. His arms enveloped your trembling form tightly, as if he could shield you from the world's horrors just by holding you close. You sobbed against him, your nails digging into his shoulders, your body going limp like a puppet whose strings had just been cut. His hand flew up to cradle the back of your head, his touch both tender and urgent, his claws grazing your skin slightly in his desperation.
The smile on his face long dropped. His muscles tensed as he whispered your name over and over again like a mantra, each repetition a plea to whatever higher power might be listening.
For the first time in decades, Alastor felt fear grip his heart in its grimy claws. His eyes remained wide open, unblinking, as if he feared that closing them would make you vanish before his very eyes.
"Mon cล“ur," you heard the dark timbre in his voice, the faint crackle of radio static lingering in the air. Your husband drew his head back, and you winced at the loss of touch, but he immediately dove back in, pressing his lips against yours in a long overdue kiss. The taste of his metallic blood flooded your mouth, but you couldn't bring yourself to care.
Sighing against his lips, you tilted your head and pressed yourself further against him and Alastor grunted in response, his clawed hands mapping up the curve of your hips and moving up to your chest, pressing his palm flat against your heart to feel its steady rhythm. It beat for him, raced and throbbed because of him
You trembled beneath his touch, more tears slipping from your eyes, dribbling down your cheeks.
"Thatโ€™s it, cher," he hushed. "My sweet girl. Youโ€™re alright. Everythingโ€™s going to be alright."
His hand reached out, cupping both of yours firmly, causing your rings to clink together. His thumb gently traced over the back of your right hand, caressing the golden band.
Alastor paused, his fingertips gliding over the unfamiliar texture of an engraving on the ring, a curious furrow creasing his brow as he moved back in to examine your hands. You hesitantly allowed his inspection, silently noting the subtle twitches on his blank expression.
Despite the tenderness of his touch, Alastor's face remained devoid of his usual smile. His eyes flickered up to meet yours, silently asking for an explanation, and you answered the unspoken question immediately.
"Vox."
With just one word, Alastor immediately understood. A fleeting smile graced his lips as he pressed a final tender kiss to both of your eyelids before his grin returned in full force. he snapped his head back to face Vox, holding you close in his arms, supporting your weight due to your broken ankle. "It seems we have some unfinished business."
"Yeah, we fucking do," a new voice interjected, causing both you and Alastor to whirl around.
Velvette and Valentino made their presence known as they stood stoically by the entrance, their disheveled appearances and visible injuries painting a picture of the struggle that had unfolded. Every bruise, every torn piece of clothing seemed to speak on its own of the relentless assault Alastor had unleashed upon the building. It was clear that they had endured their fair share of the battle.
"Come."
Velvette reached her hand out, and you felt an odd sensation of tugging at your neck. Suddenly, a hot pink collar materialized around you, and before you could react, you were forcefully pulled forward with a sharp yank. The sudden movement caused you to stumble several feet, your injured ankle buckling beneath you with a jolt. A scream ripped from your throat, the intensity of the pain washing your vision with a blaring flash of white.
Valentino immediately grabbed you by the hair, wrenching you up as though you were nothing more than a prize to be claimed. "You want her? Well, we're going to have to make a deal," he taunted.
Something primal gnawed and snarled at Alastor's insides. Even in the brief seconds since you were torn away from him, the ache for your presence already began to consume him, searing through his veins like a wildfire. It cut him deeper than any of the physical wounds he received. He had just gotten you, and now you were being torn away from him once more.
He wanted to scream, to tear at his own flesh in anguish, to rip through the barriers separating him from you until he could hold you close once more.
And if he had to paint the sidewalks of hell with the blood of these vermin to achieve that, then he would stop at nothing to see it through.
"There's not going to be a deal. I doubt anything you can offer would be of any value," Alastor's grin twisted into a snarl, his eyes flashing red. With a swift motion, he slammed his staff against the floor, unleashing a blare of crackling energy and swirling shadows into the air. "I'm going to end your fucking lives."
"Ay, calm down," Valentino snarled, his voice dripping with menace as he spread his wings, casting a shadow over the room. Dipping a hand into his coat pocket, he drew his gun and pressed it tight against your temple, the cold metal sending a shiver down your spine. Sweat beaded on your forehead as the searing burn of the barrel pressed against your skin, a silent threat hanging in the air.
You didnโ€™t realize you were crying until you felt Valentino's thumb run across your cheek, the demon cooing at you as if you were a child. Blinking away the tears, you opened your eyes to find Alastor's figure standing out vividly amidst the chaos, his red suit and hair glowing like fire against the darkness.
Like blood.
Alastor's entire body practically shook with anger, the shadows in the corners of the room writhing and twisting.
Their tainted blood should never dare to soil your skin, nor should the gaze of these wretches ever dare to tarnish your beautiful visage. In his eyes, you were pure and untainted, and above all, you belonged to him.
Only him.
"Now," Valentino chuckled, a twisted smile playing on his lips as he reached out to pet your head with a hand, his fingernails sharp and threatening. "It's really not worth the trouble. So why don't you stop this tantrum, grab your little bitch, and get out? She's not this fucking valuable to us."
"D-D-D-Don't!" Vox's voice crackled from his spot on the floor, his one functional arm trembling as he struggled to rise.
"Oh, shut the fuck up," Velvette scowled, her nails digging into the fabric of her torn dress as she hurled your contract towards Alastor with a vicious flick of her wrist. "Do we have a fucking deal?"
Alastor's hand shot out, snatching the contract mid-air before it could reach the ground. Holding it aloft, he tore it apart with a savage rip, the sound of paper shredding echoing like thunder through the room.
"Deal."
Instantly, the chains restraining you dissolved, and Valentino moved away from you. You felt a gentle tug as Alastor's swirling shadows guided you towards him. His arm enveloped you protectively, pulling you close as if shielding you from any further harm. His wide-eyed gaze remained fixed on Velvette and Valentino, a silent warning in his stance.
"I'll make sure you regret ever crossing us," Alastor declared with a menacing growl, summoning a swirling portal of shadows behind him as he slowly backed away, pulling you along with him. Before departing, he deftly removed your engraved ring from your finger and tossed it in Vox's direction.
"Radio isn't dead," Alastor snarked as the shadowed portals began to envelop you both, their inky tendrils curling around you like a shroud, "but this broadcast is coming to an end."
With that, you and Alastor vanished into the swirling shadows, leaving the three figures standing amidst the aftermath.
The building lay in ruins, reduced to disrepair. Water trickled down from the shattered remnants of the aquarium, its glass now fractured and broken, mingling with the thick dust that hung in the air like a shroud. From top to bottom, no room was left untouched by the devastation wrought on by the Radio Demon.
Velvette stood rigid in the center of the room, her figure shadowed as she bore her intense gaze into Vox. The TV demon scoffed dismissively, his broken screen flickering erratically, casting disjointed shadows across the room.
"I'm killing her," Velvette declared.
"Who?" Vox croaked, doing his best to sit up as Valentino helped him to his feet.
Velvette clenched her teeth, her frustration boiling over as she stepped forward and forcefully slammed her heels down on Vox's legs, sending him slamming back down, the sound echoing in the room. She spat in his fractured screen, her voice dripping with venom.
"I'M FUCKING KILLING HER!"
.
"Don'tcha worry about a thing, sweetheart!" Mimzy chirped cheerfully, her voice ringing out above the din of the crowded bar. Balancing a huge stack of beer in her arms, she maneuvered skillfully through the maze of tables, dodging patrons and obstacles with ease. The dim lights of the bar reflected off the bottles, casting shimmering patterns across the worn wooden surface, while the faint scent of alcohol lingered in the air, mingling with chatter and laughter.
Arriving at the table, a group of men erupted in hollers and cheers. Mimzy giggled in response, her laughter joining the chorus of noise as she shot a playful wink in their direction. With a bit too much force, she shoved the tray onto the table, causing the overflowing glasses to slosh and liquor to spill onto the tabletop.
"Enjoy!"
With a toss of her hair, she sauntered away, her heels echoing against the wooden floorboards as she made her way towards the entrance. The club was delightfully full tonight, and Mimzy could practically taste the mouthwatering green of money already.
But just as she reached the doorway, a hand grabbed her, yanking her out into the darkness beyond. The blonde's cheery demeanor disappeared in an instant as she found herself shoved up against a nearby wall.
The cold grime and mysterious mold clinging to the brick surface sent a shiver down her spine, the dampness seeping through her clothes and chilling her to the bone. The dim light from the bar seemed to fade into obscurity as the darkness of the alley enveloped her, suffocating her senses. Panic surged within her as she struggled against her assailant.
"Hey! What givesโ€”" Mimzy began, but her words caught in her throat as she realized she was face to face with Velvette. The overlord looked disoriented and disheveled in the dimly lit alleyway, her clothes torn and her hair in disarray. Her eyes, usually sharp and calculating, now held a wild, frenzied glint.
"There you are," Velvette's grip on Mimzy's dress tightened, her nails digging deep into the fabric and piercing skin, sending a sharp twinge of pain through the blonde. "I've been looking for you."
The blonde recoiled as Velvette's claws trailed up her throat, leaving a trail of stinging scratches in their wake. The metallic smell of blood flooded her nose as one of Velvette's nails grazed over her skin, catching on the delicate chain of her necklace and tugging it slightly.
With a trembling voice, Mimzy managed to choke out, "Oh! W-What do you need me for, sugar?"
Velvette's lips curled into a sinister smile, the glint of her sharp teeth shining under the alley lights.
"Oh, just a little chat," she replied, her voice dripping with malice. "Aren't you curious about what's been happening in your absence? Some skeletons in a closet got dug up."
The blonde's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest as she realized the gig was up.
"I didn'tโ€”!" she started, but her protest was cut short by the sickening thud of Velvette's fist against the wall beside her. Cracks spiderwebbed across the brickwork, the crumbling debris cascading to the ground in a cloud of dust.
"Don't lie to me," Velvette hissed, as she leaned down to the blondes height, meeting her face to face. "You knew who she was. And you helped him."
"I-I didn't know," Mimzy lied straight through her teeth, trembling in her heels. "I swear, Velvette. I didn't know anything about his wife."
"Don't play dumb with me, bitch. You knew full well who she was," the overlord snarled.
With a derisive laugh, she threw her head back and added, "But you couldn't even keep it under wraps! You got fucking ratted out in less than 2 days!"
"No! No, I swear on my life, sugar!" Mimzy pleaded, her voice trembling as she shook her head, her golden curls bouncing around her shoulders. "I was just a stray bullet!"
But Velvette's expression remained cold and unforgiving, her eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"You fucking liar," she spat, her voice dripping with venom.
A flash of silver caught Mimzy's eye, and she flinched as she saw the dagger in Velvette's hand. The cold metal glinted with a blue glow in the dim light of the alley, its edges sharp and sleek.
It was angelic iron, and the very sight of it sent bile rushing up her throat.
It hurt her eyes to look at the dagger, its presence filling her with a sense of dread she couldn't shake. But despite the fear coursing through her veins, she couldnโ€™t tear her gaze away. She was frozen in place, like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car.
But then, there was a sudden blur of movement.
"Wait!"
A sharp, searing pain shot through Mimzy, causing her to gasp. The sensation of blood trickling down her skin sent waves of nausea through her, and she dry heaved, struggling to keep herself upright.
Her eyes remained locked on the smeared blood on the steel lodged in her, the sight both horrifying and mesmerizing. It was so revolting, so surreal, that she failed to suppress a shudder of dread as she stared at it, transfixed by the grim reality of her impending fate.
Coldness began to envelop her, seeping into her bones as the darkness closed in around her like a suffocating cloak. Dark spots danced at the edges of her vision as the edges of her consciousness blurred and faded. She felt herself slipping away, consumed by the shadows, as the alleyway swallowed her whole.
Velvette let the body drop, the dull thud echoing in the desolate alleyway. A twisted feeling of satisfaction flooded her veins, coursing through her with a sickening thrill.
The harsh glow of the streetlights cast eerie shadows across her features as she surveyed the aftermath of her actions. With a flick of her head, she turned away from the lifeless form, her cracked heels echoing against the cold pavement as she disappeared into the darkness, leaving behind a trail of crimson steps in her wake.
"And so it begins."

You know what would be funny? Human reader making a deal with an overlord or a demon to have a kid.
But like, not get pregnant because Reader does NOT want to go through the whole process they just want the baby.
And the demon is like ..? ?? ???
So now you have Reader with their baby and the recluctant co-parent that happens to be an overlord / demon because Reader was smart enough to trick the other part to be up for co-parenting (a child is expensive).
It has the vibes for enemies to lovers, divorced couple energy.
Idea.
Per usual, if my ideas or little rambles inspire you, go ahead! And tag me please, I'd love to read 'em.

Of Course It's You. It's Always You. - Alastor x Reader
Pairing: Alastor x Y/N
Word Count: 1103
Warnings: Slight Injuries, but nothing major :)
Tumblr media
It happened again. Alastor had gone a bit too far when fighting off the many fiends that tried to ransack the hotel. This time it was some loan sharks that had come to hunt down who you had thought was the hotelโ€™s newest resident, Mimzy. Sometimes you wondered why Alastor, a man known for only ever paying mind to his own flights of fancies and rarely ever entertaining anybody else lest it was to gain something for himself, was so passionate about this redemption project of Charlieโ€™s. There wasnโ€™t much time to ponder this, though, as Alastor had burst into your room bruised, exasperated, and covered in blood (was it his? youโ€™d never know). You had never seen him thisโ€ฆ defeated. He still wore his trademark smile, but something seemed off. It was his eyes.ย
Ever since you became a resident at this hotel, you had grown close to Alastor. He was just soโ€ฆ enthralling. Interesting. You hadnโ€™t asked why he smiles so much, but instead learned how to read his eyes. And right now, his eyes needed help. You urged him to come to your floor and he sat down, gasping as you immediately pulled out your medical kit and applied alcohol to his bite wounds. Man, they werenโ€™t joking when they said those loan sharks had the sharpest teeth out there. For the first time ever, you were thankful that Charlie kept a stocked cabinet of essentials in every room, but more than that, you were surprised that anything could even get close enough to Alastor to hurt him like this. As you bandaged his wounds and filled them with gauze to prevent further bleeding, you slowly unbuttoned his ripped shirt only to be met with equally ripped skin beneath it.
โ€œOh, Satanโ€
you say while quickly using the few remaining gauzes you had. He hadnโ€™t said a word this entire time, only wincing when you pressed the bandages against his wounds. Without even saying a word, this was the most vulnerable you had ever seen the Radio Demon.ย
As both of your adrenalines died down, you faced him on the floor and asked him what happened.
โ€œIโ€™ve simply never seen anything like it before.โ€ he said.
โ€œThey- They had silver teeth- made of Carmine angelic metal.โ€
While this seems rather insignificant, angelic weapons are the only thing that can kill Earth-born sinners. These scratches were not just inconvenient for the all-powerful Radio Demon, but lethal.
โ€œAlastorโ€ฆ you need to be more careful. We could have lost you. Charlie IS the princess of Hell, you don't have to fight all of her battles for her.โ€ you say.
Alastorโ€™s voice rises.
โ€œY/N. You don't understand. I- I have to protect this hotel. This is larger than you could ever understand.โ€
For a second, you swear you could hear his radio voice falter slightly. You sigh in defeat. He could be so stubborn sometimes. As you lean your head against the leg of your bed, you repeat under your breath,
โ€œI could have lost you.โ€
You put your face into your hands.ย
You had been attracted to Alastor ever since you started to get to know him. It was impossible not to. He was such a gentlemanโ€ฆ such a thing could not be found just anywhere in Hell. And this man, this diamond among the rough, was almost torn away from you and your chosen family by some lousy loan sharks.
โ€œWhat was that, Darling?โ€ He broke the silence.
You lift your head off of your hands, slightly embarrassed that he heard you.
โ€œUh, nothing.โ€
You felt his hand on your arm, and slightly flinched. Alastor didn't seem like one who was very keen on physical touch, especially initiating it. You glanced into his eyes.
โ€œDarling, don't dismiss yourself. When I ask you a question, answer it.โ€
You blushed slightly, looking at the distant wall to avoid eye contact.
โ€œI said that I almost lost you. I just dont think I would be able to bear your absence. You- you have helped me see that there can be things worth fighting for, even in eternal damnation.โ€
Did you just - did you just say that shit out loud?!? Oh, that was corny as fuck, theres no way heโ€™s staying in this room with you after that. Instead of appealing to your inner monologue and leaving, his hand met your face, possibly the gentlest touch you've ever felt.
โ€œDarling, Iโ€™ve never once thought that a belle like you could ever think those things about a demon like me. I am truly honored to be a thought in your mind, and even so, a positive one. Why haven't you told me this sooner?โ€
Did you hear that right? Alastor, THE Radio Demon, just heard you confess your feelings for himโ€ฆ and he didnโ€™t end your life right then and there? You stammered,
โ€œI, umโ€ฆ uh,โ€
Alastor took your hand into his own, rubbing it with his thumb reassuring me.
โ€œI can sense your anxiety, love. I assure you, you of all people do not have to fear me.โ€ he calmly says.
โ€œOnly in my worst nightmares would I ever do anything to cause you harm. Despite my constant efforts to distance myself from you all in efforts to best serve this hotel, you have never faltered in your adamant spirit to justโ€ฆ know me. I know that it is not an effort to manipulate me, as you have not once asked me for anything in return for your constant care.โ€
As he finishes, you say, โ€œHow could I? You have done so much for us, for me, the least I can do is offer you somebody to confide in. Somebody that you can love without ever wondering if this love is reciprocated.โ€
The two of you sat in silence, staring at the red, wallpaper-plastered wall in front of you, his hand remaining on yours. You didnโ€™t know if what you had said about love was a bit too far, but glancing over at Alastor gave you your answer. His regularly toothy grin was replaced by a small smile, a genuine smile. He moves himself closer to you to remove the distance between your two bodies and slowly guides your head to rest on his shoulder. This gentleness was refreshing. Just two souls that know the same struggle relinquishing in each otherโ€™s presence.
โ€œAlastor?โ€ you ask.
โ€œYes, my Darling?โ€
โ€œThat thing I said, about loveโ€ฆ was that too much?โ€
He chuckled in reply as he leaned his head on yours. โ€œOf course not, my love. Why do you think I came to you of all people?โ€

Ask 'I very much enjoy the whole Gen z Overlord thing, I have been wondering you can do a what would they do when they meet Lucifer in the hotel. It interesting when they see how different he is to what they've been told of him.'
By @darkwrath32
During Dad beat Dad
Trying to write the whole episode, let's see how long it works out..
Slightly rush at the end
-
(Y/n) sat on the couch while watching Charlie theorize, well they aren't actually sure what she's doing exactly anymore.
"Charmander, I think it's time rest." Said (Y/n). Vaggie had ask them to help Charlie with figuring out the redemption plan as (Y/n) is the only Overlord trying to help with it, they agreed not knowing Charlie wasn't going to go to bed anytime soon.
"You can go to bed, (Y/n). I got the handled." Said Charlie, looking at (Y/n).
"Yeah, no. Vaggie will be super upset at me if I just went to bed." They said, getting up heading to the kitchen. "Plus I personally think the best time to think is the middle of the night. I also enjoy helping you with whatever we're doing because I've lost track. You want coffee?"
"Yes please, I'll explain to you when you get back."
-
"Charlie? (Y/N)?" Said Vaggie seeing the two standing infront of Charlie's planning board with a bunch of paper and string attached and to the side a few empty coffee cups and energy drink cans are on a table and floor.
"I'm just not quite understanding why it's not working. Okay, okay, think Charlie. Think, think, think, think, think, think, think, think. Okay if I do this, it's going to be-" Charlie said, panic in her voice. "I have trust falls every single morning-."
"With who? And why?" Said (Y/n) in a less panicked voice. "I can only see you doing it with Vaggie." Both of the demons look like a mess and that they obviously didn't sleep.
"Yikes." Said Angel Dust.
"Come on, come on, come on, come on." Said Charlie when (Y/n) noticed the crowed behind them, holding a ball of string with some of it in their mouth.
"Charlie? Sweetie? You uh, you good?" Asked Vaggie, Charlie looked back with sleep deprived look while holding a piece of paper. "(Y/n) this isn't what I ment by help her." Vaggie told the young overlord, who just shrugged.
"Nope! No, not really. Ha ha, I've been up all night trying to figure out why the hotel isn'tย working." Charlie said, crushing the paper in her hands.
"We've done trust falls and sharing our feeling which still ew." Said (Y/n), bitting the string in their mouth off the ball.
"And now we only have a month before the angel come-." Charlie said before laughing in her demonic form before turning back. "At this rate-."
"May it's time-"
"NO."
"-to ask-"
Charlie getting close to Vaggies face and holding her checks before saying "DON'T SAY IT."
"-your dad." Vaggie finished saying and Charlie just groaned. "Charlie, I know you don't want to but we need every advantage we can get."
"He let the extermination happen to begin with. They just had a meeting and said, "Go ahead and kill everyone"-ย Wait, that's it!" Charlie suddenly realized something.
"Kill everyone?" Questioned Vaggie.
"Say sike." Said (Y/n).
"No!ย Heย could get me a meeting withย Heaven!" Said Charlie.
"Boo! It sucked last time! Adam is a dick!" Said (Y/n).
"He was being an asshole but he isn't in charge of all of Heaven. We could go to the top. There's sure to be some angels who will listen." Charlie said, getting out her phone but hesitant on calling.
"What's the holdup? You got daddy issues?" Asked Husk.
"Doesn't everyone?" Said (Y/n), earning looks. "Okay, well then must be a generation thing then."
"No, we just have never been close. After he andย momย split, he never really wanted to see me. He calls, sometimes, but only if he's bored or like needs me to do something." Charlie answered.
"Daddy issues." Said Husk and (Y/n), with one being more quiet about it.
"Well I'd like to meet the big dick in charge." Angel Dust said.
"The ultimate bad boy." Said Niffty before laughing and while holding a knife that Angel Dust quickly took away. "I bet he's scary."
"Wait, who is Charlie's dad?" Asked (Y/n) when Charlie decided to call.
"How the fuck do you not know? Her last name is Morningstar!" Said Angel Dust.
"Well I know she's a princess and Morningstar is a weapon." Said (Y/n).
"Toots, who would be the big dick in charge of Hell?"
"The devil?" Said (Y/n) before it clicked in their head. "Oh shit!"
Angle Dust and Husk laughed at their reaction.
"How have you not know yet?" Asked Husk. "You're an Overlord, you got to know politics in hell for that."
"I know I'm just busy making sure my area is taken care off and then helping here, I guess I never had time to draw the connection." Said (Y/n). "I didn't know the devil had a last name! Or a child!"
"He has a first name too."
"Oh shut up."
"Welp, we have an hour until he gets here." Said Charlie interrupting the conversation.
Vaggie then assigned everyone to do something and everyone scattered.
-
(Y/n) stood next to Angel Dust while he was doing his makeup while sitting on the table. Angel Dust finished and got scared by Niffty who was just staring at him, (Y/n) laughed.
"Come on, my dear. As the other one sponsoring the hotel, we both have to be front and center when he shows up." Said Alastor before guiding (Y/n) to stand beside the door next to him.
"Okay everyone, it's showtime." Charlie said before opening the door to a shorter blond hair demon with fancy attire.
"Charlie!!"
"Hey, Da-." Charlie didn't get to finish before getting hugged really tight by her Dad.
"He's so short." (Y/n) whispered to Alastor, earning a soft chuckle from the demon.
"Oh its so good to see you. Haha!"
"It's uh, good to see you too, Dad." Said Charlie before he finally put her down. "Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel!"
KeeKee showed up along with Razzle and Dazzle to greet him and Lucifer, as (Y/n) finally remembered, greeted them and slight threat to Razzle and Dazzle to keep protecting Charlie.
"Wow! This place sure looks, uh...uh huh yah uh huh...It's got a lot of character!" Said Lucifer looking around the hotel before catching sight of the bar. "OH, what in the unholy hell is that?!"
"Just some of the renovations we had done. Adds a bit of color, don't you think?" Said Alastor, leaving (Y/n) and appearing next to Angel Dust.
"And who are you?" Lucifer asked, Alastor with a flare of the dramatic reappeared behind Lucifer.
"Alastor. Pleasure to be meeting you, sir. Quite a pleasure." Shaking Lucifer cane before wiping his hand off on his jacket. "It's nice to finally put a face to the name. Like my colleague said you are much shorter in real life." Panicked (Y/n) quickly got next to Alastor.
"Excuse him, I did not say those exact words." (Y/n) said, nudging Alastor. "But I'm (Y/n), pleasure to meet you."
"Who is this? Who is this man and child? Are you the bellhops?"
"Aha! No! I am the co-host of the hotel. You might have heard of me from my radio broadcast." Said Alastor.
"Not a kid, I'm co-manager slash other host slash sort of guest, usually when the others are busy. You probably haven't heard of me." Said (Y/n), copying Alastors introduction, shaking Lucifer's hand.
"Atleast this one has manners." Said Lucifer. "And nope havent heard of you! I guess that's why Charlie called it theย Has-beenย Hotel, ahaha." (Y/n) quickly moved back away from the two.
"Ha ha ha. It was actually my idea."
"Ahaha. Well, it's not very clever."
"Ha ha!ย Fuck you." Alastor said before Charlie got in-between the two.
"Okay! Okay, anyway. Dad, look at this lovely parlor where people can get to know each other and share secrets and stories and intimate feelings! Without Alastor or (Y/n), we wouldn't have been able to pretty it up this much."
"Charlie has a very unique vision. I am happy to fulfil her bizarre requests." Said Alastor, putting his hand on Charlie's shoulder.
"Well they aren't bizarred request. Charlie thinks outside the box and it's nice to see her dreams become real." Said (Y/n) from the table, not getting closer to whatever beef Alastor decided he had against the other.
"Oh thank you guys." Said Charlie
"Ahem, Charlie! Dear, eheh, why don't you introduce me to yourย OTHERย friends?" Said Lucifer, getting between the two and pointed at the group around the table.
"Oh yes, of course." Said Charlie getting next to Vaggie. "This is Vaggie, my girlfriend."
"Oh my golly! You like girls? So do I!ย We have so much in common!ย You put her there Maggie. Hey!" Lucifer said Hugging Vaggie, tightly. "Oh yeah, she's so pretty."
"Lovely to meet you, uh sir." Said Vaggie, taking a deep breath after being let go.
"This is our guests Sir Pentious, Angel Dust, and (Y/n) when they want to." Said Charlie.
"Your Majesty!" Said Sir Pentious trying to defend his cookies from Angel Dust and (Y/n).
"Heya short king~" Said Angel Dust, (Y/n) making a face at how Angel Dust said that.
"Hello from the otherside, again." They said, waving.
"(Y/n) helps with managing with Vaggie and helps when Alastor is busy." Said Charlie. "They just like helping, But anyway Husk is our bartender, and Niffty is our housekeeper."
"Nice to meet you." Said Husk before Niffty runs over and climbs up Lucifer's coat.
"Hello. I clean." She said before the chandelier fell making everyone cough.
"Alright then." Said Lucifer, pointing his cane at the chandelier magically making it disappear.
- "No one is gonna call you dad with that creepy ass smile" the song-
After Mimzy appeared, taking Alastor attention for alittle bit.
"So... you look nothing like how your depicted on earth." Said (Y/n), looking at Lucifer. "They used way to much red."
"..You're a sinner? When did you arrive in Hell?" Asked Lucifer.
"A few years ago. Around 2019 ish? It kinda blurry. I'm technically an Overlord." Answered (Y/n).
"(Y/n) is the youngest in the amount of years in Hell and age." Said Charlie. "They got here when they were 18 so that why they look like a kid." Said Charlie before Mimzy noticed that Lucifer was here, pushing Sir Pentious out of her way.
"Pleased to meet ya! Your Highness." She said before nudging Alastor. "Alastor, you gotta warn a girl when she's in mixed company."
"Charmed, I'm sure." Said Lucifer, sounding like he didn't care.
"As much as I'd love to catch up, Charlie, (Y/n) and I have a tour to continue." Said Alastor, Lucifer hearing this dragged Charlie.
"I'm sure Charlie can handle showing me around." Said Lucifer. "Along with (Y/n)."
"Why am I getting dragged into this?" They questioned with no response.
"Nonsense!" Said Alastor, grabbing Charlie and moved foward. "We started the hotel together, and we'll show it off together. Right, Charlie?"
"I was here before you!" Said (Y/n)
"Oh, right." Charlie said and Alastor let her go so she could show her father around with Vaggie and (Y/n) following behind.
This is going to be an interesting tour.
-
"So, once we have the proof that redemption is possible, this whole hotel will be full of demons wanting to check out into heaven! We just need a little time to prove it. The sharing circles haven't been working as fast as I hoped." Charlie told her father, leading the group. (Y/n) walking close to Alastor noticed when Alastor stop and looked back to see Husk.
"Hey, boss. Can I have a word? Uh alone,(Y/n)." Asked Husk.
"Hurry along (Y/n), I wouldn't be long." Said Alastor and (Y/n) got a nervous feeling about what the conversation going to be.
"Okay, see ya Husk." They said before walking to where Charlie and the others went, not seeing Alastor turn his head an 180 degree to face Husk.
"What is it?"
-
(Y/n) caught up with Vaggie, who was walking behind Lucifer and Charlie.
"What happened?" Asked Vaggie, who noticed (Y/n) and Alastor had stopped earlier.
"Nothing hopefully, Husk just wanted to talk to Alastor." They explained. "How's it going?" Noticing the nervous look on Lucifer's face. Vaggie didn't answer before they got on a balcony and Charlie had her help explain the hotel mission.
"And we've almost been able to find all of Angel Dust's drug stashesโ€ฆ almost." Said Vaggie.
"I remember when I found one the first time, still had no idea what it was." Said (Y/n), remembering how they showed Vaggie it and she quickly took it away and scold Angel Dust for it.
"So, once that's out of the way, it should be much smoother sailing!" Said Charlie, (Y/n) zone out know with how Lucifer acting Charlie would be disappointed in his response. They leaned on the railing, looking at the view of Hell.
"-Heaven, is not exactly as carefree as you might think. Yeah, they have rules,ย lotsย of rules, and they aren't very open minded as you'd hope. Look at (Y/n)!Why would heaven put a kid here? Unless they're a mass murder." Said Lucifer, getting (Y/n)'s attention.
"I'm not."
"These are our people, Dad, Iโ€ฆ I have to try!" Said Charlie.
"Our 'people' Charlie, are awful! They got gifted free will and look what they did with it! Everything's terrible!" Said Lucifer.
"Hey! I didn't even get to even use my so call freewill and Charlie is trying to help!" Said (Y/n).
"Well I don't want her to herself on the line for people like-." Said Lucifer before a loud thud, shaking the hotel.
"For fucks sake."
"Geez! What now?!" Said Vaggie before everyone looked out to see Loan sharks at the front door with a battering ram.
"Well, like that." Said Lucifer.
"Mimzy! We know you're in there you lousy bitch!" One of the sharks yell
"Oh go fuck yourself!" Yelled (Y/n) before being pulled into a portal by Charlie.
"Que Carajo?!" Yelled Vaggie.
"What's going on?!" Said Charlie.
"I maaaaaay be in trouble with some loan sharks. I may or may not have borrowed 50 grand fromโ€”." Said Mimzy before hiding from a loud sound "And I may have also stolen a carโ€ฆ and crashed itโ€ฆ into the loan shark's girlfriend, but that bitch had it coming!"
Then all hell broke lose by the windows breaking with a barrage of fireballs, scaring everyone.
"My windows!" Yelled Niffty, upset with the broken windows.
"Ah, we're under siege! Ah! Take cover!" Said Sir Pentious, finally letting go of his cookies while dodging a fireball. Everyone panicking scrambled for cover.
"I'm going to fucking kill these assholes!" Said (Y/n), getting pulled by Charlie again away from a fireball.
"You see? This is exactly what I'm talking about Charlie. You build something nice, you invite people in and offer them everything and they just bring violence and chaos to your doorstep. It doesn't matter how well intentioned you are, they're always going to disappoint you." Said Lucifer unbothered with the chaos, getting on (Y/n)'s last nerve.
"You- just shut up! I'll handle this-." They said before Alastor appeared infront of them.
"No my dear, leave it to me. It's time to remind everyone why I am here."
"I'm also here for a reason, Alastor." Said (Y/n), glaring at the other overlord.
"Very well, shall we dear child?"
"We shall."
"A reminder to all, not to mess withย the radio demon!"
"Oh, finally! Took you long enough!" Said Mimzy, earning a look from (Y/n).
(Y/n) let Alastor eat everyone in his demon form while they fought off and weakened the rest for him to finish.
"Does it even taste good?"
"Do you want to try some?"
"No thanks old man."
(Y/n) left Alastor to deal with Mimzy, seeing Charlie and Lucifer comforting each other before singing from the door way.
-"I'm happy they are solving their issues but why does it always have to be by song?"-
"Aww, that's so sssweet." Said Sir Pentious.
"It was." Said (Y/n), patting him on the back.
"Ok, I can get you the meeting but once you're in Heaven, I won't be able to go with you. Will you be ok?" Said Lucifer.
"I'll be fine." Said Charlie.
"That's my girl, good luck kiddo." He said before vanishing in red mist. (Y/n) got closer to Charlie.
"So you're gonna actually do this? Fucking mint, I guess." They said, not completely on board about Heaven of all places.
"The next part is going to be scary, you ready?" Said Vaggie.
"I'm ready, cuz you're gonna be with me." Said Charlie, hugging Vaggie.
"In spirit, right?" Said Vaggie.
"In Heaven!"
"Yay..." said Vaggie before (Y/n) started laughing at her reaction, earning a glare from Vaggie and a look from Charlie.
"You're coming too, (Y/n)!" Said Charlie, making (Y/n) stop laughing.
"Why?!" They said.
"Because you were the first one to help after Vaggie! You're a main part of the hotel!" Said Charlie, pulling (Y/n) in the hug.
"I'm killing myself." Said (Y/n) with a blank look on their face.
"(Y/n)!"
"I'm kidding... mostly."
"Shit.."
-
"Why would they want to meet (Y/n) aswell?"

Lucifer: Literally any pet name you can think of- All the time. He uses pet names more than your actual name. His favorites are Darling, My love, Sweetheart.
Mimzy: Sugar, Dollface, Buttercup, Cinnamon- Would use nicknames for most people, really unique cute ones.
Adam: Hot stuff, Eye Candy, Ball Plunger, Meat Condom, Weiner Wetter- โ€ฆ. Canโ€™t change my mind. Every day, all day. You donโ€™t have a name anymore.
Rosie: Darling, Sweetheart/Sweetie, Love, Doll- Sweet auntie vibes. Love her, she would use them pretty often, both platonic and romantic.
Lute: Hon - Honestly all I could think of. I love her but I feel like she wouldnโ€™t use them much.
Sera: Darling, Dove, Sunshine - She uses pet names on certain people, like children (donโ€™t be weird in like a motherly way), or her SO.
Cherri Bomb: Sugar Pie, Dollface, Cutie, Good looking, Boo - She would use nicknames on people that she close to, like friends. You will usually get a nickname specifically for you :)
Sir pentious: Uhhhh - He would try but can not for the life of him figure any out. Like bro would call you an egg and then just never again.
Nifty (Platonic): Beetle, Rolly pollie, Roach - Personal headcanon of mine; she likes to give people nickname based on different bugs.

โ€œYou're on air in ten minutes, Y/n. Pick it up before the host gets restless!โ€
Your so-called manager barked from the dressing room doorway, giving one last glare your way before strutting off, grumbling a string of curses you'd learned to ignore.
โ€œAssholeโ€ฆโ€ you scoffed, turning back to the striped mirror of your vanity; the large bulbs that lit it gave enough light in the old stuffy backstage space, illuminating every detail of your appearance.
Not one thing could be out of place.
You wouldn't allow it, committed to your role as a rising preformer in the golden age of the stage, and conditioned to perfectionist standards from years of tribulations
Suffering behind a practiced smile won you your stardom. The ambiguous beauty you possessed helped immensely in your success on the silver screen, but the truest contributor to your fame was appeal.
Humourous, intellectual, but most crucial, sex appeal.
That's what kept your admires enthralled, permanently put you in the limelight from the start, and inevitably earned you considerable amounts of money.
You weren't opposed to being called a child of Dionysus himself, envied by those who wanted you. Still, the burden of putting on a show for everyone every day without giving them a glimpse of your faults was excruciating.
Yet, you chose the burden over sulking in the darkness, remaining among the ordinary when you so clearly had the makings of a star, and your status of high popularity among the masses was proof of it.
So be it if your cheeks ached from smiling at frivolous fans that your laugh sounded less like your own the more you forced it, that flirtations of others felt like empty praises, or that every project you agreed to felt less and less stimulating.
So fucking be it.
Fame is fickle; you knew this all too well, but your existence felt meaningless without it.
Empty.
All the world's riches, the undivided favor you garnered from the public, and the sparkling awards cluttered your penthouse display shelvesโ€ฆ
Even with all that at your fingertips, you had yet to feel seenโ€ฆ
Seen and truly adored.
โ€œTwo fucking minutes! Get your ass in position. This interview is being broadcast live, remember?โ€ your manager harped at you from the hall, causing you to grunt in frustration before yelling back, โ€œWould you shut your trap?! Fucking hellโ€ฆI'm coming!โ€
You set aside the whiskey glass in your left hand, ran your right through your recently styled hair, and checked your reflection one last time.
โ€œIt's only a radio show. One little interview and you can go home and get black-out drunkโ€ฆโ€ the idea of spending some much-deserved time alone after running around doing a press tour brought a sad smile to your face as you stood and exited the dim room.
This would be your last stop, an interview with Louisianaโ€™s prided radio host, and the last person you'd need to put a show on for before returning home.
โ€œFinallyโ€ฆโ€ your manager grumbled as you stepped into the hall, giving you a once over as the two of you strolled down the hall towards the host recording area, โ€œDon't fuck this up. People say this ones a real talker and can make or break ya..โ€ he mumbled begrudgingly.
You paid his incessant pestering no mind, flashing him a suave smile as you both stopped before a heavy door, โ€œDon't tell me you're starting to care about my reputation now? Thought you only saw me as a nice money grabโ€ฆโ€
Your smile grew as laughter bubled in your chest, seeing the other slowly become agitated at your backhanded comments.
โ€œWhy, you little-โ€
โ€œOh, don't be rude, sir. You'll spoil my good mood, and god knows sour spirits bring bad luck,โ€ you smirked, enjoying the scrunch of his nose as his expression reflected his true nature, but before he could snap, you pushed the door open and slipped into the soundproofed station room.
What a fucking pain he isโ€ฆ
You cursed the raging man outside, sighing softly as the sound of jazz lingered through the air and the smell of freshly brewed coffee mixed with a distinct cologne engulfed you.
The space felt and looked inviting, relaxing even, but what caught your attention was the man who occupied it.
He sat in a desk chair across the small room, facing a table full of controls and a mic to match. His face was lowered from the device, glasses resting comfortably on the bridge of his nose as he stared at what you assumed was a script for your conversation with him, but the simmering amazement overtook your curiosity about the paper he held you felt hearing him hum along to the song he was airing.
You didn't dare move an inch closer, satisfied with watching and listening to him from afar, oddly entrapped by the silent allure he cast.
It was no mystery that people loved the sound of his voice. You'd be fooling yourself if you said you hadn't found his commentary enchanting, but looking at him in the flesh, you were sure he'd flourish on the silver screen like no other.
He could indeed win the eyes of manyโ€ฆ
Yours especially, and to some degree, he had already, but you hesitated to admit it even as he turned to face you.
Ohโ€ฆ. he is a beauty, that's for sureโ€ฆ
That was the singular thought in your mind as he smiled, standing from his seat before approaching you with all the confidence you'd merely portrayed.
โ€œHello there. You must be Y/n L/n. I'm Alastor Hartifelt. It's a pleasure to meet you, my friend!โ€
His voice was as smooth, melting into the background melodies inexplicably, and your heart lightened immensely as he held out a hand for you to shake.
โ€œThe..the pleasure is all mine, Mr. Hartifelt..โ€ you inwardly scolded your delayed greeting, losing track of your practiced charm relatively quickly in his grasp. Still, in seconds, you recovered from the blunder while returning his smile.
Alastor took you in with a glance up and down your figure, cataloging every detail of your appearance out of habit, but when his gaze met yours, one thought crossed his perceptive mind.
Longing?
How curiousโ€ฆ
You hid the familiar emotion well; seeing past the veil of contentment wasn't tricky, and though he was tempted to bring it forth.
You two shook hands briefly but firmly. Alastor stepped back, gliding his hand out to mention towards the recording station. โ€œCome, have a seat, and please call me Alastor. We will be on air after all; formalities aren't necessary for an engaging broadcast.โ€ His smile grew, emitting an unearthly kindness as you nodded in understanding before sitting in the chair opposite his.
โ€œYou make an excellent point, Alastor. I hope we enjoy each other's company.โ€ You chuckle softly, feeling a tad nervous for a reason unknown but genuinely harboring a rise in excitement, hearing him respond promptly.
โ€œI have no doubt we willโ€ฆโ€ Alastor muses more to himself, a delicate edge to his voice as he trailed behind you, and a certain twinge of intrigue rattled your spine at the implication.
For the first time in a long time, you weren't dreading the inclinations of your fame, gradually succumbing to the sparks of joy Alastor evoked with the most straightforward words and becoming surer of the fact as he took his seat next to you.
โ€œShall we begin?โ€ he implies cheekily, and you reply in a quick, witty fashion, โ€œWe shall.โ€
โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”-
โ€œCare for a drink, my friend? I believe weโ€™ve earned ourselves a cold glass of whiskeyโ€ฆ that is, If your evening is unreserved.โ€ Alastor made the offer moments after switching your respective microphones off, quickly arranging the recording panel to a specific setting as he listened for your response.
Your mouth moved quicker than your mind; a distinct rush overtook at the thought of spending more time with the charismatic radio host, โ€œI'd be delighted to join you. I must agree that our interview went quite well. It's rare to have an easy conversation with a stranger these days..โ€
Alastor raised a brow, sparing you a glance as he finished sliding keys and flicking switches into place to keep a calming stream of music lingering in his broadcast, โ€œSo, I'm still a stranger to you?โ€ฆ My, and I thought we were getting on so wellโ€ฆโ€œ
He spurs you casually, an air of hurt in his expression, and it stuns you, causing a red hue to rise on your cheeks, โ€œTh-that's not at all what I meant, Alastorโ€ฆโ€ Your lower head twinges of embarrassment staining your consciousness, and for the third time that evening, Alastor had chipped away at your charm.
He enjoyed itโ€ฆ.
Seeing you falter and conform to his standards, though you didn't need to, at any time, you could've remained indifferent to him and taken your leave the moment he shut your mic off, but you remained.
Solely because you'd grown attached to him or the defect he had on you.
Humbling, genuine understanding, but above all else, validation.
โ€œMy dear, I am only poking fun. I take no offense to your words, and I hope you'll grant me the same courtesy!โ€ Alastor reached for you, thumb and forefinger slipping under your chin to lift it, and you obeyed his gesture with a soft smile. โ€œOhโ€ฆIโ€ฆโ€
You paused, swallowing thickly as he raised himself from the chair, head lowered toward yours as he stood above you.
Had he always been so tall?
So brooding?
You weren't entirely sure, but your heart raced, every nerve in your body tingled with anticipation as if you were a deer caught in his headlights, but you couldn't retreat or evade him.
โ€œYou what?..โ€ Alastor cooed quietly, chocolate eyes on fire with an emotion you'd long forgotten but returned subconsciously.
Control.
You needed to be back in control, or the next breath between you two might lead to somethingโ€ฆ
Your mind played scenario after scenario, beginning to short circuit as he peered down at you, lips only inches from yours, and his other hand reaching to caress your cheek. His touch is searing, warmer than those you'd felt before, intentional, and your entire being buzzed in his grasp as if in a drunken stupor.
He was dangerousโ€ฆ able to tear through your facade easily, which was terrifying.
Polarizing.
Don't let him get any closerโ€ฆ
Keep him at a distanceโ€ฆ
You've only just met him...
Warnings rang in your head, but your eyes lowered to his lips, and your voice remained quiet as you responded to his question.
โ€œI" 'd like to have that drink before the night ends. Wouldn't you?"With a gentle nudge of your head and a soft laugh, you draw away from Alastor's touch. The space between you increases, and the ability to breathe becomes less strenuous as you stand to your feet, collecting your overcoat before slipping it on, "I'm not familiar with the city yet, so I'll leave it to you to show me around." The chipper in your tone amuses Alastor; you'd perfected the art of illusion so well that in the clutches of what some might consider an intimate moment, you balked and reclaimed sensibility like it never occurred, though you wished for it to carry on further.
He'd met and spoken to his fair share of actors, learned their ticks and telling habits, and used it against them when he saw benefit in toying with them.
However, being able to see right through you evoked another motive for the host, and he dared to think it was mutual.
"Well, I'd be honored to show you the ins and outs of this lively town I call home so long as you promise to keep up," Alastor retrieves his coat, a heavy jet black trench withered accents paired with matching hat, stylish in all the right ways -presumably warm to be in. Still, you were sure if he ventured into the night dressed like that, any stranger would fear him.
They had good reason to, but you didn't need to know why.
Not yetโ€ฆ
With a coy smile, you followed Alastor out of the station, matching his strides as he paved the way to a nearby speakeasy, "You'll find it quite entertaining, my friend. Few visit at this hour, but my dear Mimzy puts on a vine show regardless!" Your heart skipped a beat at the thought of Alastor being infatuated with another, for what reason you weren't sure, but your disappointment flashed clear in your eyes that he took it upon himself to clarify his remark.
"She is an old and loyal acquaintance. Nothing more. Nothing less."
You perked up at the explanation, face burning with a blush as you raised both hands to dissuade his interpretation of your expression, "I understand. You needn't explain anything to me-"
Alastor halted in his tracks, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he peered at you curiously, "Hm, so you did assume we were something to begin with?..."
Shit, was I that obvious?...
"Not at all..." you lie, as calm as ever but internally conflicted.
How could he go about messing with you so boldly?..
And why did it excite you?..
"Your eyes say otherwise, my friend..." he counters your nervous reply with a smug smirk, beginning to walk off as if he wasn't toying with your head, "My eyes?..." you whisper in response.
"They are the doorway to the soul...I've learned to walk through said doors, and you, my dear, hide a lot of fears behind them." Alastor chuckles, ears tingling as you reclaim your spot at his upon reaching your destination. Still, you're less concerned with the dark alley lit with a singular neon sign situated above a heavy lead door and more worried about what he is implying regarding your emotions.
Who was he to know anything?
Sure, he was pleasant to be around, an avid intellectual with a knack for continuing conversation with you, and you had no reason to believe he'd been faking his friendliness to you from the start...
That still gave him no right analyzing you, prod at your exterior with more confidence than necessary, and you intended to let him know it.
A glare beset your expression, mouth open to speak, but you weren't allowed to do so as the lead door swung open.
Alastor guided you close to his side as a gaggle of patrons spilled from the doorway, ranting and raving about the time they had inside. Their rowdy behavior irked him, but you did not comment on the matter as he placed a hand on your back to lead you inside after their dysfunctional departure.
โ€œDrunken idiots,โ€ he mumbled begrudgingly, and for the first time you'd seen the radio host truly bothered. He'd been so composed during your interview, inviting and flirtatious on and off the air, so getting a glimpse of his annoyed state felt like a treat.
At least you knew he had flaws, insignificant but telling ones.
โ€œUm. Alastor, you can..โ€ you paused, unsure if you wanted to let him know he was still holding onto your waist as he led you inside the dim speakeasy. Alastor hummed, irritation gone, and his coy smile widening as you shuffled alongside him. โ€œY-you can let me go now.โ€
โ€œOh, nonsense, my dear! I wouldn't want you to run into unsavory characters like the ones that just passed..โ€
He quickly navigated the lingering crowd, clearly familiar with the club's layout, and you marbled at its unique atmosphere as he led you through it. โ€œI can handle myself, Alastor,โ€ you tried again to reason, but Alastor was quick to give a response as he ushered you to sit at an unoccupied lounge chair complete with a table and lamp.
โ€œI'm sure you can but I'm rather fond of keeping you close.โ€ He sat next to you after setting his coat and hat aside.
What did he mean by that?..
โ€œHow selfish of you,โ€ you feigned disappointment as he shifted to face you with a soft chuckle leaving his lips, โ€œWould you be so kind as to forgive my greed for your attention?โ€ Alastor stares you down, noting how you bite your lip, another nervous tick you'd yet to disregard in his presence. โ€œI'll consider it if you buy me a drink or two..โ€
The suggestion was meant to sound confident, unmothered by the mounting pressure in your chest, but it came out breathless. You were sure that you'd mastered the art of indiffenece, permanently established a mask of charm, but as much as you wished to maintain the certaintyโ€ฆ
Alastair disproved it with little more than a gesture or equally compelling word.
It was unsettling, intoxicating too, but undeniably riveting.
โ€œA small price to pay,โ€ he mumbled, eyes lowering to your lips as you laughed softly and leaned back to admire the other patrons roaming or dancing around. โ€œI never said I was cheap..โ€ you taste him, gaze drifting to him as he shifted closer. You wanted to jump out of your skin as his arm came to rest behind you, head lulling to ward your cheek as he breathed into your ear. The resulting warmth made you shiver, quickening your breaths, and your body tingled with intrigue.
โ€œNoโ€ฆโ€ Alastor affirmed your jest, free hand raising your chin, tilting your head to face him as he continued, โ€œโ€ฆbut you are desperate to be loved. One might say that's just as inappropriate, mon Cher..โ€
His tone dripped with condensation, a sensual purr loud enough to drown out the jazz and chatter surrounding you, and for a moment, he was all you could comprehend.
You should've felt angry, unsettled even, but his words struck a more profound emotion.
Comfort.
You weren't crazy, a constant wonder for the masses to marvel at and never care about.
Alastor could see you.
He wanted toโ€ฆ
โ€œAnd so what if I am? Why would it concern you?..โ€ there was no harsh undertone to your question, and it earned a sultry hum of amusement from him. โ€œYou've interested me, so I must not ignore your charade. I'm partial to the truth of a person, and you, my dear, abandon it in the hopes of success..โ€
Spot on.
It is shamelessly hurtful but direct nonetheless.
You clicked your tongue dismissively, attempting to turn your head away from his grasp, but Alastor held you tighter.
A glare crossed your face at the brushing grip he established, but a pool of excitement rushed to your crotch as well.
โ€œI'm not one of your scripts to read, Alastor..โ€ you scoff, rolling your eyes to make your point clear, but he isn't affected by the arrogant gesture.
โ€œMy apologies if it seems that way, but my intention to know you, inside and out, is purely innocent...โ€
โ€œI find that hard to believeโ€ฆโ€ you retort, very aware of the minimal space between you two, and it became harder to focus on anything else but his soft lips that were stretched thin into a smile.
God, I was doomed from the beginningโ€ฆ you think to yourself as you laugh at your shameless line of sight. โ€œBelieve what you wish, my friend, but I enjoy being the object of affection..โ€
โ€œThat's inappropriate to suggest,โ€ you mutter, face burning with blush and your hands raising to grip his wrist and collar. Alastor hummed, amused by your denial, โ€œMm, I suppose it isโ€ฆwould you like another apology?โ€
You shake your head, tugging him in by the collar of his shirt, eyes lifting to his, full of determination, โ€œA kiss will do just fineโ€ฆโ€
He holds your gaze, checking for mockery, but there is none. โ€œThat's the first honest thing you've said all night, mon cher,โ€ Alastor points out in a hushed tone, lowering his head to place a slow kiss on your lips as they pull into a satisfied smile.

I rewatched Heartstopper for this. Was it helpful? Yes. Did it make me cry harder than the first time I watched it? Also, yes. Will I forever love that show?โ€ฆ (yes). Again, this is just part 1! The second half is being drafted. Please look forward to it. I'm not sure it'll include smutโ€ฆbut I'll debate on that later.

Title: What Happens in the Shadows
Pairing: Alastor x reader
Word Count: ~5,155
In which Mimzy has suspicions about Alastorโ€™s feelings towards the reader, and plans to use them to her advantage.
A/N: Part 4 of my Never and Always series
Warnings: TRIGGER WARNING (attempted assault), angst, fluff
Mimzy was a lot of things. She was loud, she was brash, she was showy, and she was bold. She was also, however, good at picking up a scent. Whether it was a good deal to be made, money to be earned, or an advantage to be won, Mimzy was there.
This usually led to one of two things.
One, she would get too confident, pushing herself into a corner when the tables inevitably turned against her, leaving her scrambling to the closest ally she had as a defense.
The second option was much more rare, when she would take her time, allowing herself to gather enough facts to truly know a demonโ€™s weaknesses before pouncing and closing a deal. Though it didnโ€™t happen often, those that did manage to fall under Mimzyโ€™s control were there for eternity, serving and slaving away as she ever so slowly gathered more power.
Mimzy was ever so hungry for power, after all, even if she was bad at obtaining it.
Which is why, when she witnessed the small spectacle at her club between her dear friend Alastor and a lowly sinner who had done nothing but dance with a woman, the gears in her head had started to turn.
She had never mentioned the incident to anyone else, of course. She wasnโ€™t stupid. She knew that the Radio Demon would have her head if she so much as breathed a word of it.ย
But he couldnโ€™t stop her from thinking. He couldnโ€™t stop her from watching. He couldnโ€™t stop her from noticing. And he most definitely couldnโ€™t stop her from coming.
~~~
โ€œYa think ya boyfriend would let mine go if you asked nicely?โ€
You flushed and looked away. โ€œAlastor is not my boyfriend.โ€
Angel Dust winked over at you. โ€œUh-huh, sure. Whateva ya say, dollface.โ€
โ€œHeโ€™s not,โ€ you insisted. โ€œWeโ€™re just friends.โ€
From his place behind the hotel bar, Husk put down the cup he was cleaning and looked up at you. โ€œYou and Angel are โ€˜just friendsโ€™. You and me? Just friends. You and Alastor?โ€ He shook his head, picking up a new cup as he looked over at you with an expression of vague concern. โ€œYouโ€™re more than that.โ€
โ€œHa!โ€ Angel said as he pointed over at Husk in triumph.
You could feel embarrassment pooling into your stomach. โ€œYouโ€™re both wrong. Al doesnโ€™t-โ€ you struggled to find the words. โ€œAl doesnโ€™t like anyone that way,โ€ you said hesitantly. โ€œAnd I know for a fact that he doesnโ€™t like me that way. He just feels responsible for me now, thatโ€™s all.โ€
Husk huffed lightly, his eyes narrowing. โ€œAlastorโ€™s never felt responsible for anyone in his life. Not for the souls heโ€™s collected, and definitely not for a sinner that doesnโ€™t owe him any more than the dirt on her shoes.โ€
You looked away. โ€œI do owe him,โ€ you muttered. โ€œHe saved my life.โ€
Angel laughed forcefully. โ€œThat was his choice, toots. You donโ€™t owe him nothinโ€™, ya hear me?โ€ He glanced over at you, his expression bordering on desperation as he searched your eyes.ย
Maybe you didnโ€™t agree, but it wouldnโ€™t do anybody any good to have Angel and Husk worrying over you with each passing moment while you stubbornly believed that Alastor was a good man who had earned your trust long ago.
So instead, you nodded, smiling softly. โ€œI know.โ€
Angel nodded firmly, but the concern in his eyes was still overwhelmingly present.
You couldnโ€™t blame him, of course, but you wished with all of your undead heart that the three most important people in your life would just get along. Not that it would ever happen while Alastor held Huskโ€™s soul.ย
You let out a long exhale before you clapped your hands together and smiled over at the hotelโ€™s bartender. โ€œAlright, enough of that.โ€ย
Angel Dustโ€™s expression relaxed as he turned to Husk as well. โ€œSheโ€™s right. Pour me a drink.โ€
Husk returned your grin with one of his own, pouring the three of you a glass and sliding yours over.
The three of you sat in silence for a moment, staring down at your drinks as you thought. You couldnโ€™t say exactly what was going on in Husk and Angelโ€™s heads, but you knew that you personally were thinking about a specific radio-themed Overlord.ย
You hadnโ€™t seen Alastor since the two of you had danced together in your bedroom a few days prior. It made sense that you hadnโ€™t seen him the day after, of course. It was your day with Angel, and Alastor would love nothing less than to get involved in your makeover session.
The days after that though, were different. Normally, youโ€™d at least catch a glimpse of the demon before he left the hotel to run his radio show or do whatever else Overlords did in their free time. If you werenโ€™t able to catch him before he left, he would always drop by the hotel a little later on, even if just for a moment. But no matter what, he would always stop by your room at the end of the day, and the two of you would just talk.
But now, you hadnโ€™t seen or heard from Alastor in days. You werenโ€™t worried, per say. You knew he was more than capable of taking care of himself. You did miss him, though, and you would be lying if you said that you werenโ€™t looking forward to your next evening conversation.ย
You drummed your hands lightly on the counter before shifting off of your barstool. It wasnโ€™t likely that Alastor had finally stopped by, but it wouldnโ€™t hurt to check. โ€œI think Iโ€™m going to turn in for the night.โ€
Angel Dust quirked an eyebrow at you playfully. โ€œSure thing, toots. Just goinโ€™ to bed, nothinโ€™ to do with Smiles at all, right?โ€
You blushed and turned away, walking towards the staircase leading up to your room. โ€œGoodnight.โ€
โ€œHave fun,โ€ Angel called up after you as you climbed the stairs and walked down the hallway to your room as quickly as possible.ย
You breathed a deep sigh of relief when you were able to reach your bedroom without any more comments from Angel. Though, that was probably courtesy of Husk. You made a mental note to thank him in the morning.
You closed your door behind you and leaned against it with a sigh.ย
Something flitted across your vision. You jerked back.
The object popped up in front of you, causing you to bite back a scream before you recognized it as Alastorโ€™s shadow.ย
You huffed in annoyance and pushed away from your door, walking around the shadow and making your way to your bed before plopping yourself down. โ€œThat was absolutely unnecessary,โ€ you said.
The shadow only smiled, quickly weaving its way over to sit beside you. It took your hand and raised it, pressing a gentle kiss to your knuckles.ย
You blushed. โ€œFine, I forgive you,โ€ you said with a giggle.ย
The shadowโ€™s smile broadened, using its other hand to gently put its claws to your throat as your laughter slowed.
โ€œNot that I donโ€™t love to see you,โ€ you said as your eyes took a quick scan of your room. โ€œBut whereโ€™s Alastor?โ€ The shadow made a small noise before reaching back and pulling a note off of your nightstand. It turned your hand over to place the folded piece of paper in your palm.ย
You pulled your hand back and opened the note, your eyes skimming over it as you tried to keep your heart from sinking.ย
It was a short note, and straight to the point. Alastor wouldnโ€™t be coming back to the hotel that night due to some unfinished business with gaining new territory. He didnโ€™t know when heโ€™d be back. He wished you a good night.
You folded the note again and placed it in between yourself and the shadow. โ€œItโ€™s alright,โ€ you said, forcing a smile on your face. โ€œI understand.โ€
But the shadowโ€™s smile had lessened significantly, and it stared at you almost expectantly.
โ€œIโ€™m fine, really,โ€ you insisted. โ€œI know heโ€™s busy. Iโ€™m just glad heโ€™s okay.โ€
The shadow looked unconvinced. But, you noticed with disappointment, its eyes had started to flicker back to your window.ย
โ€œYou need to go,โ€ you said. It wasnโ€™t a question.
The shadow looked back at you regretfully.
You reached out and placed your hands on its cheeks, lowering its head until your foreheads touched. โ€œIโ€™ll be okay,โ€ you said quietly. โ€œI promise.โ€
You released it and moved back.
The shadow caught your hands and pulled you back in, pressing a kiss to each of your palms before pressing them to its chest where its beating heart would have been. It gave you one last long look before it released you and melted back into the shadows, disappearing out your window.
You stared after it for a moment. Part of you wished that it had been Alastor who had come into your room and kissed your palms goodnight. The other, less selfish part of you knew that he had done the best that he could, and you appreciated it more than words could say.
โ€œDonโ€™t worry, heโ€™s always like this,โ€ a voice said from the other side of your room.
You nearly jumped out of your skin as you spun around, searching for its source.
Mimzy stepped forward from the shadows and gave you a sickening smile. โ€œIt doesn't mean he doesn't care about you.โ€
โ€œWhat are you doing here?โ€ you blurted without thinking. Your hands clutched your bed sheets as she approached you as casually as you would approach a friend in public. But you werenโ€™t in public. And you most definitely werenโ€™t friends.
โ€œOh, donโ€™t give me that, doll,โ€ Mimzy said with a wave of her hand. โ€œIโ€™ve been dying to see you ever since Al brought you to my club.โ€
โ€œWhy?โ€ you asked before pressing your lips together. It wouldnโ€™t do you any good to antagonize her, you knew. But you couldnโ€™t seem to stop yourself. โ€œWhat do you want from me?โ€
A small voice in the back of your head wondered how she had managed to slink into the shadows and avoid Alastorโ€™s. Shadows were part of his domain, after all. Shouldnโ€™t he have sensed her?
Mimzyโ€™s smile changed into something more sinister. โ€œI donโ€™t want anything from you, doll. Youโ€™re a sweet little thing, but-โ€ she looked you up and down with a note of disdain. โ€œI have a feeling you wouldnโ€™t make me much revenue.โ€
You felt an anger flare up inside of you. You stood, crossing your arms and pasting what you hoped was a firm expression on your face. โ€œIf you donโ€™t want anything from me, why go out of your way to sneak into my room?โ€
The club ownerโ€™s smile only grew. โ€œRelax, sugar, Iโ€™m not here to trick you into services. Iโ€™m here to talk about olโ€™ Alastor.โ€
You tried to hide the surprise and fear that shot through your core. โ€œWhat about him?โ€
โ€œWell,โ€ Mimzy said with nonchalance as she began to stroll through your bedroom, poking at your belongings. โ€œWe both know that he tends to keep to himself. Not many friends, but loads of enemies, am I right? But heโ€™s really just a sweetheart, thatโ€™s why weโ€™ve been friends for years now.โ€
You blinked. โ€œAlright.โ€
โ€œBut,โ€ Mimzy continued, her voice oddly sweet. โ€œI noticed the other night that heโ€™s taken a bit of a shine to you.โ€
You dropped your arms and shook your head. โ€œThatโ€™s not true. Alastor and I-โ€
Mimzy waved a hand dismissively. โ€œNow, Iโ€™m not one to stir up unnecessary drama. But Alโ€™s my friend, so Iโ€™ve been a bit worried about him since then.โ€ She turned to look at you, her eyes boring intently into yours. โ€œHeโ€™s an Overlord, you know. Lots of enemies. If any of them find out about you, think about what itโ€™ll do to his reputation. Or worse,โ€ she said, her eyes widening dramatically as she placed her hands on her cheeks. โ€œHis power.โ€
You flinched.ย
If you were being honest, the very same thought had crossed your mind more than once. Every time you went out with Alastor, even for a brief moment, you worried about being seen with him. You worried what it would do for his image.ย
He had been quick to ease your concerns, reassuring you that nobody would dare cross him, even if he were to be seen with you.ย
Even so, you had noticed that he was careful to never touch you, and rarely ever look at you, when the two of you were in public.
But, it seemed, despite all of his precautions, that your night together at Mimzyโ€™s might have started something that you had feared from the very beginning.
You swallowed heavily, meeting Mimzyโ€™s gaze as you repeated the same words that Alastor had said to you, time and time again. โ€œNobody would dare cross the Radio Demon.โ€
Mimzy nodded enthusiastically in agreement. โ€œOf course they wouldnโ€™t, sugar. But they might mess with you. And if Al cares about you half as much as I think he does, well, thatโ€™ll be enough to ruin everything that heโ€™s ever worked for.โ€
You bit your lip with worry. You were never quite as good as Alastor when it came to hiding your emotions. โ€œSo why did you come to me?โ€
The demoness shrugged. โ€œI knew Al would never listen if I told him that you were bad for him.โ€
You winced.
โ€œBut,โ€ she continued, โ€œI thought maybe you could convince him.โ€
An alarm bell began to ring in the back of your mind. โ€œConvince him of what?โ€ you asked wearily.
โ€œTo keep his distance from you,โ€ Mimzy said, a little too quickly for your liking. โ€œThe longer you stick around, the more he gets attached. And the more he gets attached, wellโ€ฆโ€ she smiled, her teeth sharp and her eyes dark. โ€œThe more likely it is that our old friend gets tossed out of commission.โ€
Your gaze hardened. โ€œYou want me to stay away from Al? Fat chance.โ€
Mimzy laughed, the sound forced and brittle. โ€œNot at all, sugar. I wonโ€™t be the one who ripped the two of you apart.โ€ She began walking towards your bedroom door. โ€œIn fact, I think you two are adorable together. But, you see, itโ€™s not just Alastor Iโ€™m looking out for. Iโ€™ve gotta take care of myself, too,โ€ she said as she turned to face you.
You recoiled at the sight of her hardened eyes and cruel expression.
Your bedroom door opened, revealing two large demons that closed the door behind them, blocking your exit. You whirled around as another demon entered through your window, cutting off your only other means of escape.
โ€œMimzy-โ€ you began.
โ€œDonโ€™t you worry, doll. They canโ€™t exactly kill you again, can they?โ€ she giggled. โ€œTheyโ€™ll just rough you up a little so that Alastor can finally come to his senses.โ€
โ€œWhat are you talking about?โ€ you asked as panic began to set in.
โ€œLet me explain it in simple terms for you, hun. I need you to help me break Alastor and get him away from you. Whether or not you help me willingly is completely up to you,โ€ she said with a shrug.
โ€œIf Al does care about me,โ€ you said desperately, โ€œthen it wonโ€™t do any good for you to hurt me. This is just going to make things worse for him. Itโ€™ll make him angry. Heโ€™ll lash out.โ€
Mimzyโ€™s eerie grin only grew in size. โ€œOh, Iโ€™m counting on it, sugar. I canโ€™t exactly gain more territory with the Radio Demon breathing down everyoneโ€™s neck. If I can get to him through you, heโ€™ll be too upset to think straight.โ€ She chuckled. โ€œIf Iโ€™m lucky, heโ€™ll be the cause of his own downfall. With him out of the way, things can be the way theyโ€™re meant to be.โ€
The three demons surrounding you came closer.
โ€œMimzy,โ€ you gasped. โ€œPlease, donโ€™t do this. Alastorโ€™s one of your oldest friends, he doesnโ€™t deserve this.โ€
The club owner tilted her head in consideration. โ€œWell, I suppose I can make an exception.โ€ Her teeth flashed. โ€œIf you were willing to cut a deal with me.โ€
The demons grew closer still.
You could feel your resolve faltering. One measly deal to get out of this mess didnโ€™t sound too bad. But as you looked back over at Mimzy, her eyes flashing and her smile turning into a snarl, the voice in your head that screamed out to protect Alastor came to the forefront of your mind with full force. Any deal that you made with Mimzy would only be used to hurt Alastor, and you would never forget how you had met him in the first place.
He had saved you once. You werenโ€™t going to make him save you again.
You straightened and stared straight into Mimzyโ€™s eyes. โ€œI hope you get whatโ€™s coming to you,โ€ you spat.
The sinner shrugged. โ€œWhatever you say, doll. Have fun, fellas!โ€
You heard your door open and close as the demons drew nearer, blocking your view.ย
A deep fear spread throughout your body, starting in your chest and working its way out. You could scream, but you were almost certain that Mimzy had found a way to mute the sounds from your room to the rest of the hotel. Nobody was coming to save you.
You squeezed your eyes shut and braced yourself as a feeling of regret shot through your heart. You had never thanked Husk for having your back. You had never finished your makeover with Anthony. You had never told your friends how much they had helped you, and how much you appreciated them.
You had never told Alastor that you loved him.
You let out a sob. You cursed yourself for crying.
A hand grabbed your arm roughly, your eyes flying open in horror. But before the demon could do so much as pull you closer, a shadow swept through your window and across the room, knocking the other two demons away from you. The third demon tightened his grip on your arm, but it was already much too late.
The lights in your room began to flicker as a new shadow entered your room. It grew in size, becoming more and more solid until it finally took the shape of one of the most feared Overlords in Hell.
โ€œI do believe,โ€ Alastor said to the last standing demon as his antlers began to grow and his eyes began to flicker. โ€œYou have something that belongs to me.โ€
You didnโ€™t wait to hear the demonโ€™s response before you shut your eyes and turned away. You knew what came next, and though you had yet to argue with Alastor over his methods, you had no wish to see them for yourself.
The demonโ€™s hand was ripped from your arm. Even without your sight, you were able to hear the screams of all three intruders as Alastor and his shadow punished them a mere feet away from you.
You sank down onto the ground, keeping your eyes closed as you pulled your knees up to your chest and buried your head in your arms. The tears that had begun to flow earlier suddenly returned with a vengeance, making their way down your cheeks as you sobbed violently.
Youโ€™re safe. Youโ€™re safe. Al is here now. Youโ€™re safe, you thought to yourself as you pulled your knees in tighter.
But another, horrible voice spoke up as you cried. He wasnโ€™t able to see Mimzy, it said. Why wasnโ€™t he able to see Mimzy? If this happens again, will he know? Will he miss it?ย
Can he save me?
You gasped and whipped your head up when a gentle hand brushed your arm.
Alastor was staring right back at you, kneeling on your floor. His smile was tense and close-lipped, his expression concerned. โ€œItโ€™s only me, mon chere.โ€
You glanced behind him and noticed vaguely that Mimzyโ€™s three demons were nowhere to be seen.
Your chest began to hitch as you tried to hold your tears back. โ€œIโ€™m so sorry, Al,โ€ you said, hating the way your voice broke. โ€œI should have been able to defend myself, Iโ€™m so sorry.โ€ The tears began again, your body slumping forward as you began to weep.ย
A pair of arms caught you and gathered your body closer until you were resting against a warm chest.ย
Alโ€™s shadow, you thought to yourself as you nuzzled closer.
One of its arms wrapped around your back, holding you close, while its other hand grasped one of yours and pressed it to its chest. It held you tightly, allowing you to cry and hiccup into its shoulder.
You werenโ€™t sure how long you sat there before your sobs became whimpers, and your whimpers became hiccups. You werenโ€™t sure how long it held you before you were able to breathe properly.
The hand holding yours released you gently, coming up to wipe your tears away from your face.
You finally opened your swollen eyes, already regretting having been found in such a vulnerable state.ย
You came face to face with Alastorโ€™s shadow. Holding Alastorโ€™s staff.
Standing across the room.
You gasped and pulled back violently, causing yourself to fall out of Alastorโ€™s lap and onto your floor.ย
The Overlord didnโ€™t react, instead watching you with an expressionless smile on his face.
โ€œI thought you were your shadow,โ€ you stammered. โ€œI didnโ€™t realize-โ€
โ€œI do hope you arenโ€™t going to apologize for reacting to the given situation, my dear,โ€ Alastor said as he tilted his head at you. He sounded, much to your surprise, mildly annoyed.
You froze. โ€œAre you mad at me?โ€
A flash of irritation appeared in the Overlordโ€™s eyes as his teeth gleamed. โ€œWeโ€™ve now spent a notable amount of time together. I do hope you know me a bit better than that.โ€ His voice held a note of challenge.
You sniffed and brought your knees to your chest once again without a response.
Alastorโ€™s eyes softened and his smile eased at the sight of your trembling form. He sighed, the sound revealing an internal exhaustion that he would never admit to out loud. โ€œI assure you, mon chere, my anger does not lie with you.โ€
You nodded, looking away.ย
Silence. Deep silence.
But you couldnโ€™t avoid the upcoming conversation forever.
โ€œPeople have seen us together, Al,โ€ you finally said, your throat raw. You looked up at him. โ€œPeople who want to take your power.โ€
You didnโ€™t miss the way the demonโ€™s smile tensed.ย
โ€œI wonโ€™t be the reason that you lose everything youโ€™ve built so far,โ€ you said, trying to keep your voice steady. โ€œYou deserve more than what I can give you.โ€
Alastor stood abruptly, climbing gracefully to his feet before offering you one of his clawed hands and pulling you up beside him.
He released you and grasped your chin in between his fingers, tilting your head up to face him.ย
โ€œAny demon who hopes to steal my power is going to find themselves sorely disappointed, my dear, regardless of whether or not your presence is noticed.โ€ His eyes hardened. โ€œI am more than capable of holding on to what Iโ€™ve gained.โ€
โ€œYou couldnโ€™t sense Mimzy,โ€ you blurted, regretting the words as they left your lips, but unable to stop them. โ€œYou didnโ€™t realize she was there until-โ€ you swallowed. โ€œWhat if it happens again, but this time they come for you?โ€ You hated how desperate you sounded. โ€œWhat if they hurt you, Al?โ€
The Overlord tilted his head. His smile twitched and his grip only strengthened as he looked down at you with something resembling regret. โ€œI do admit that both myself and my shadow were a bit distracted during its visit, and I do apologize for not preventing this whole ordeal before it ever began.โ€
โ€œThatโ€™s not what I meant-โ€ you started weakly.
Alastorโ€™s eyes flashed dangerously. โ€œThough I can promise you that such a thing will never happen again, mon chere. Not while I still stand.โ€
You didnโ€™t respond. Not because you doubted his ability to take care of you, of course. But because you didnโ€™t want this added responsibility to prevent him from taking care of himself.
โ€œI do hope,โ€ the demon continued, the static in his voice suddenly disappearing as he searched your gaze. โ€œThat you havenโ€™t finally begun to doubt me.โ€
You shook your head as well as you were able to with his fingers still clutching your jaw. โ€œNo,โ€ you whispered. โ€œNever.โ€
And in a rare display of courage, you reached out, placing your hands gently on either side of the Radio Demonโ€™s face as he released your jaw. You pulled him down until your foreheads met. โ€œNever,โ€ you repeated, your voice firm. โ€œAnd if you really arenโ€™t worried, and you want me to stay, then I will.โ€ You pulled back to look into his eyes. โ€œIโ€™ll stay with you. Always.โ€
Alastorโ€™s hands reached up and settled on top of yours as his eyes bore into you. โ€œThatโ€™s quite the commitment, my dear,โ€ he said. There was something strange in his voice, something that sounded almost like uncertainty, almost like tension, almost like fear.
Your grip on his face tightened as you looked up at him. โ€œI mean it, Al. Iโ€™ll stay with you, if youโ€™ll have me. If youโ€™re sure.โ€
Now, there were a great many things that Alastor would never do. Heโ€™d never make a deal that he wasnโ€™t in control of. Heโ€™d never submit to the Vees. Heโ€™d never tell Charlie the real reason that he was in her hotel.
Heโ€™d never tell you that he loved you.
But, he found as he stared into your eyes, he would absolutely give up everything that heโ€™d ever built if it meant that he got to keep you.
โ€œI donโ€™t intend to lose anything, my dear. Least of all you.โ€
You blushed, maintaining eye contact as a gentle smile took the place of your previous frown.
Alastor leaned forward. You followed his lead, expecting to press your forehead to his, when he surprised you by placing a soft kiss on your forehead.
You pulled back and smiled up at him before pulling him down to place your own kiss on his cheek.
Maybe Mimzy was right. Maybe you were something of a danger to the Radio Demon. But youโ€™d be double-damned if you were going to give up on him so easily.
โ€œNow,โ€ Alastor said, his eyes flashing dangerously as he released you and stepped back. His shadow surged forward, returning Alastorโ€™s staff to its rightful owner and standing behind its master with a chilling grin.ย
Alastor faced you, his smile gentle and his eyes hard as the static returned to his voice with full force. โ€œWould you care to give me the name of the foolish soul who tried to harm what was mine?โ€
~~~
Nobody had seen or heard from Mimzy in days.
Three new screams had joined the Radio Demonโ€™s broadcast.
Youโ€™d been too afraid to leave the hotel for a few days.
Alastor had begun checking your room every night before leaving you alone.
Nobody else at the hotel knew what had happened to you. Not even Angel and Husk.
You gained back your courage in the following weeks with help from Alastor.
The two of you had grown closer than ever.
Nobody had seen or heard from Mimzy in weeks.
~~~
You leaned back against your bedโ€™s headboard, watching as Alastor had his shadow sweep through your room once again.
โ€œIโ€™m fine, Al,โ€ you said, trying to contain your laughter. โ€œReally. Nobody else is going to get in. Thereโ€™s locks on the windows, and your room is close enough to be able to hear if something goes wrong.โ€
Alastor hummed in acknowledgement, though his eyes continued to roam around your room until he was satisfied.
He turned to you with a grin. โ€œIโ€™m only protecting what is mine, mon cล“ur.โ€ He turned to your door, walking away from you with his shadow following close behind. โ€œI do expect to see you bright and early in the morning for a short stroll.โ€
It was your turn to hum in agreement.ย
You were more than thrilled with the offer, of course, but you felt a sense of unease that threatened to keep you up all night. You didnโ€™t doubt Alastorโ€™s abilities, of course, but you worried about what might happen to him if he was attacked while he was momentarily distracted with keeping you safe.
Alastorโ€™s hand reached towards your doorknob. โ€œI bid you a good night, my dear.โ€
โ€œWill you stay with me tonight?โ€ you blurted before you could lose your courage.
Alastor froze in place, his hand hovering. His shadow, however, was much more reactive. It leapt up in excitement and made its way back over to your bed, jumping in beside you and nuzzling its head against your cheek.ย
You giggled and pulled away, allowing the shadow to slowly run a clawed hand from the base of your throat up to your chin before looking back over at its owner.
He had turned to look at you, a fond expression on his face as he watched the interaction.ย
โ€œOnly if you want to, of course,โ€ you said hurriedly as your smile began to slip. โ€œI donโ€™t mean to pressure you.โ€
Alastor waved a hand dismissively before he made his way over to you. โ€œYou couldnโ€™t pressure me if you tried, my dear.โ€
Your heart soared as you moved over, giving him enough room to not have to even brush against you during the night.
The Overlord climbed into your bed easily, settling against your headboard before looking down at you with a raised eyebrow. โ€œI do hope you werenโ€™t expecting me to sleep.โ€
You smiled. โ€œNot at all.โ€ You began to shuffle around to get comfortable and to avoid looking into his eyes when you said, โ€œI just feel safer when youโ€™re here, thatโ€™s all.โ€
The last words of your sentence had hardly left your lips before Alastorโ€™s shadow finally moved from its place on your other side. You laughed as it nudged you over before wrapping its arms around you and pulling your back to its chest, giving you a sense of security that you had never found with anyone else.
You closed your eyes and nuzzled in, allowing yourself to be swept away in a wave of comfort and exhaustion. โ€œGoodnight, Al,โ€ you murmured as you drifted away. โ€œThank you. For everything.โ€
You fell asleep before you could hear his response.
So you didnโ€™t see his eyes soften. You didnโ€™t see him reach out and grasp one of your hands in his own. You didnโ€™t see him lean down and press a soft kiss to your temple. You didnโ€™t hear his last words before he began to doze as well.ย
โ€œThank you, mon cล“ur.โ€
Chapter one: May I join you?
Tumblr media
In the dimly lit jazz club, the air hummed with the sultry notes of saxophones and the rhythmic tapping of drumsticks. Y/N sat at the corner table, her fingers tracing the rim of her whiskey glass as she lost herself in the melodies swirling around her. The ambience was intoxicating, drawing her deeper into the world of jazz.
Mimzy, her vivacious friend and a regular performer at the club, took center stage, her voice weaving through the room like silk. Y/N watched with a fond smile, admiring Mimzy's talent as she commanded the attention of the audience.
Amidst the crowd, a figure caught Y/N's eye. Tall and enigmatic, he moved with an effortless grace that seemed to defy the very essence of the music. His crimson suit gleamed under the soft glow of the stage lights, and his presence exuded an aura of mystery.
Alastor, that was his name, though Y/N didn't know it yet. He danced with Mimzy, his steps synchronized with the rhythm of the jazz. There was something captivating about him, something that tugged at the edges of Y/N's curiosity.
She took another sip of her whiskey, her gaze never leaving the pair on the dance floor. There was a story there, she could sense itโ€”a tale woven within the threads of music and movement.
As the night deepened, Y/N found herself drawn closer to the stage, her heart quickening with each note that hung in the air. Alastor's presence loomed larger, casting a spell that seemed to envelop her in its embrace.
Mimzy's voice faded into the background, replaced by the sound of her own heartbeat as she watched Alastor's every move. His eyes, piercing and intense, met hers across the room, sparking an electric current that sent shivers down her spine.
Their gazes lingered, a silent exchange of recognition and intrigue. Y/N's pulse quickened, her mind ablaze with questions she couldn't yet voice. Who was this man, and what secrets lay hidden behind his captivating facade?
As the final notes of the jazz melody faded into the night, Alastor and Mimzy took their bows, their performance met with thunderous applause from the audience. Y/N remained rooted to her spot, her thoughts consumed by the enigmatic stranger who had ignited a flame within her soul.
In the hushed aftermath of the performance, Alastor made his way through the crowd, his eyes never straying from Y/N's as he approached her table. There was something interesting in his gaze.
"May I join you?" he asked, his voice a velvet whisper that sent shivers cascading down her spine. Y/N nodded, her voice caught in the swell of emotions that threatened to consume her. As Alastor took his seat beside her, the world around them faded into oblivion.
"I couldn't help but notice you were staring, dear," he remarked, his voice a sultry cadence that danced through the air. Y/N's cheeks flushed slightly, caught off guard by his direct acknowledgment. She laughed, a soft and melodious sound that echoed in the intimate space. "Wasn't everyone?" she replied, attempting to mask the fluttering excitement in her chest.
Alastor's smile widened, revealing a hint of charm beneath the enigmatic exterior. "Alastor. Alastor Hartfelt," he introduced himself, extending a gloved hand toward Y/N. The air seemed to crackle with anticipation as she placed her hand in his, their fingers interlocking in a fleeting moment of connection.
"Y/N," she responded, her name rolling off her tongue with a grace that matched the jazz melodies still lingering in the air. "Nice to meet you, Alastor."
Alastor's gaze lingered on Y/N, his eyes betraying a curiosity that mirrored her own. "Are you here all alone?" he inquired, his voice a whisper that stirred the air between them.
Y/N shook her head, a soft smile gracing her lips. "Oh, no. I came with Mimzy," she replied, her words laced with warmth and affection for her friend.
Alastor nodded, a knowing glimmer dancing in his eyes. "Ah. A friend of Mimzyโ€™s is a friend of mine, Miss Y/N," he remarked, his voice tinged with a hint of amusement.
"She's a really good dancer," Y/N remarked, her eyes fondly following Mimzy's movements on the stage.
Alastor chuckled softly, his gaze still fixed on Y/N. "She's one of the only people who can really keep up with me," he revealed, a note of pride in his voice.
Intrigued, Y/N arched an eyebrow. "Are there others?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
Alastor chuckled softly, his eyes never leaving hers "I do not know, my dear." he replied, extending a gloved hand towards her. โ€œCare to find out?โ€
A spark of excitement ignited in Y/N's eyes as she accepted his invitation. Their fingers intertwined once more, and Alastor led her to the dance floor.
As the music enveloped them in its intoxicating embrace, Y/N found herself swept away by the rhythm of the jazz with Alastor as her guide. "I must say, Miss Y/N, you're holding up quite well," Alastor remarked with a twinkle in his eyes.
Y/N, breathing a little heavier, managed a breathless laugh. "I don't know how you're still doing this," she admitted, a playful glint in her eyes.
Alastor, the epitome of grace, chuckled softly. "Years of practice, my dear. It becomes second nature after a while." Despite her best efforts, the fast-paced dance proved to be more challenging than she anticipated. Y/N struggled to keep up with Alastor's effortless elegance, her breath quickening as fatigue set in.
She even stumbled occasionally, her steps faltering under the weight of the rapid movements, but each time, Alastor was there to catch her. โ€œFor someone who's not a usually, this is quite the workout." she quipped, attempting to catch her breath.
Alastor's eyes sparkled with mirth. "You're doing splendidly, considering," he complimented as he guided her through a series of spins with effortless grace.
As the jazz melodies reached a crescendo, their dance intensified, weaving patterns of connection between them. Y/N embraced the challenge, determination in her eyes, even as the fatigue started to set in. Alastor sensed her effort and, with a twirl, brought their dance to a graceful conclusion. They stood at the center of the dance floor, breathless but exhilarated. Y/N, her cheeks flushed, couldn't help but smile.
"I must admit, you have a unique charm on the dance floor," Alastor complimented, a genuine warmth in his gaze.
Y/N grinned, playfully rolling her eyes. "Maybe not as unique as yours, but I'll take it."
They returned to their table, the echoes of their dance lingering in the air. Mimzy, observing from afar, joined them with a knowing smile. Her voice cut through the lively chatter of the jazz club, her tone laced with playful concern. "Take it easy on her, darlin'," she chimed in, her eyes twinkling with affection.
Alastor turned to Mimzy with a charming smile, his eyes alight with amusement. "Of course, Mimzy. Wouldn't want to wear out my dance partner too soon," he replied, his voice dripping with playful banter.
Y/N laughed, sharing a glance with Alastor. "I was just trying to keep up honestly.โ€
Mimzy winked at Alastor. "Not everyone can keep up with this one.โ€
Alastor leaned back in his chair, a contented expression on his face. "What can I say, just pour me some whiskey, and I will be on the dance floor all night long."
Y/N chuckled, raising her eyebrows playfully. "A man of simple pleasures, I see. I'll remember that for next time."
Mimzy chuckled as she rolled her eyes "Well, well. Alastor, you're quite the dance enthusiast, aren't you?"
Alastor grinned, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "Guilty as charged. It's hard to resist the allure of a good dance."
Mimzy smiled, pouring a glass of whiskey and sliding it across the table to Alastor. "You know where to find me if you need a dance partner. Now, enjoy that whiskey, darlin'." With a wink, Mimzy returned to the performance area, leaving Y/N and Alastor at the table.
Tumblr media
As the jazz melodies continued to fill the air, Y/N reached into her bag, producing a pack of cigarettes. With a swift motion, she took one out, placing it between her lips, and lit it with a flick of a match.
Alastor, watching her with mild surprise, hummed, "Didn't take you up for a smoker."
Y/N exhaled a thin stream of smoke, her eyes meeting his with a knowing smile. "It's a bad habit, I know," she admitted, the smoke curling around her like a veil.
Alastor nodded, taking a sip of his whiskey. "We all have our vices."
Alastor observed Y/N, her features softened by the glow of the match and the ambient light as she nodded.
He noticed her gaze shift towards a clock on the wall, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. "Something on your mind?" he inquired, curious about the sudden change in her demeanor. Y/N glanced back at him, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Just checking the time. It's later than I thought." Alastor followed her gaze to the clock, realizing that the night had indeed slipped away.
Y/N took a final drag from her cigarette before flicking away the ash "I should probably be heading home."
Alastor raised an eyebrow, a hint of disappointment in his eyes. "So soon? The night is still young, my dear."
Y/N nodded, her eyes lingering on the clock for a moment longer. "True. It's just... I have an early morning tomorrow.โ€œ
Alastor, sensing Y/N's impending departure, smiled warmly. "Then allow me to escort you home," he offered, a gesture that held both politeness and genuine interest.
Y/N looked at him, touched by the offer. "That's sweet of you, Alastor. But it's not necessary. I can manage on my own."
Alastor chuckled, his gaze unwavering. "Consider it an old-fashioned courtesy. Besides, a gentleman wouldn't let a lady navigate the streets alone, especially at this hour. It's the least I can do after the delightful company you've provided this evening." He would know that.
Y/N couldn't help but grin at his charming demeanor. "Well, who am I to refuse such a gentlemanly offer? Escort away, Mr. Hartfelt."
As they made their way through the jazz club's exit, Mimzy waved them off with a wink. "You two take care now. See you again, Y/N!"
The city night enveloped them as they stepped onto the streets, the echoes of jazz fading into the background. Alastor's presence offered a sense of comfort, and Y/N found herself enjoying the unexpected turn of events.
As they strolled through the dimly lit streets, Alastor engaged Y/N in conversation, the night air carrying their voices in a gentle exchange. Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the whims of fate that had brought Alastor into her evening.
"Excuse my curiosity, but are you working at the jazz club?" she inquired, her tone gentle.
Alastor's eyes flickered with amusement, and he chuckled softly. "Ah, no, my dear. I'm just a patron who appreciates good music and the art of dance. Although, I must say, the idea of working at such a place is intriguing."
Y/N smiled, finding a shared appreciation for the enchanting atmosphere of the jazz club. "You seem like you'd fit right in.โ€
Alastor tilted his head, a playful glint in his eyes. "Perhaps. I work at a radio station. Mostly a podcast focused on dramas and comedy ," he confessed.
Y/N's eyes widened in surprise. "A radio podcast? That's unexpected," she admitted, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "I would have never guessed."
Alastor nodded, his enigmatic smile never fading โ€œI reckon you heard of โ€˜Ephemeral Voicesโ€™ from WWL.โ€
N's eyes widened with recognition. "Wait, 'Ephemeral Voicesโ€™? I've heard of that! I never connected the dots until now."
Alastor's smile widened as he took out a small card from his pocket, handing it to Y/N. "Well, now you have a face to put to the voice. Feel free to tune in whenever you like."
Y/N took the card, a mix of disbelief and excitement on her face. "I can't believe I've been listening to your podcast without realizing it was you." Alastor shrugged playfully at that.
As they arrived at Y/N's house, the night air took on a hushed quality, the city lights casting a soft glow around them. Y/N turned to Alastor with a grateful smile. "Thank you. You didn't have to come with me, you know," she expressed, the sincerity in her voice echoed in her eyes.
Alastor's gaze met hers, and he replied with a casual shrug. "I beg to differ. A gentleman wouldn't leave a lady to navigate the night alone. It was my pleasure."
Y/N chuckled, appreciating the chivalry that seemed to be second nature to him. "Well, I appreciate the company, truly. It's been quite an unexpected night."
Alastor's enigmatic smile lingered. "The best nights often are."
Y/N fumbled with her keys, her gaze lifting to meet Alastor's. "I suppose this is where we part ways," she said, a hint of reluctance in her voice.
Alastor nodded, a glimmer of understanding in his eyes. "I trust you'll rest easy knowing you're home safe and sound.โ€
She extended her hand, which Alastor took with a gentle smile. "Thank you, Alastor.โ€
Alastor bowed slightly, a gesture that seemed to belong to another era. "The pleasure was mine, Miss Y/N. Until next time."
As Alastor bid her farewell, Y/N watched him disappear into the night and she entered her home, the door closing behind her.
She couldn't shake the smile that lingered on her lips.
Human Alastor X Reader
Summary: The Reader is a Young Woman who recently started working as a dancer in a Jazz bar in New Orleans. There she quickly gets noticed by Alastor who needs to get to know her.
Word count: 1K
Warning: Mimzy
Tumblr media
(Picture is Not Mine)
It was something about the way she moved. Something about the way she swayed her hips to show off her magnificent body that had Alastor fascinated and intrigued. Usually he wasnโ€™t someone who stared at a woman, he was classy and decent but as soon as he saw this young woman dancing he couldnโ€™t keep his eyes off of her. Not that he wanted to.
She was the new dancer in the bar, he hasnโ€™t seen her before. She was new and interesting and Alastor absolutely wanted to know more about her. His eyes were fixed on her the entire time that she danced and whenever she even looked at one of the other men or winked at someone, he felt a wave of jealousy like he never felt before.
And then this young wonder left the stage. Alastor looked around the bar but he couldnโ€™t find her anymore. That was when he was suddenly approached by someone. That person touched his shoulder which startled him for a moment and without even thinking about it he shoved the person off. Only then he turned around to see that it was actually one of his closest friends.
โ€œMimzy!โ€ He said happily.
โ€œAlastor, darling. You didnโ€™t even tell you would come over todayโ€
โ€œWell, it was a spontaneous visit. And may I say I absolutely made the right decision. I just watched your newest dancer. She is an absolute jewel.โ€
โ€œYes she is, very young and very talented too. She brings in many men from the streets who all wanna take a look at her. Not the typical beauty but she definitely knows how to move.โ€
โ€œVery intriguing indeed.โ€ Alastor admits. โ€œI would very much like to meet her in person.โ€
โ€œShe will start serving drinks in a short while. But darling, donโ€™t you distract her too much, I still need her.โ€ With that, Mimzy left Alastor alone.
And just like she said, the young dancer came back into the bar, wearing a nice satin robe and carrying a tray of drinks. Alastor walked towards her and gripped her arm, making her turn around and look up at him.
โ€œStunning performance, my dear. Now please be a good girl and bring me a glass of Whiskey, no ice.โ€
The young dancer was confused for a moment, asking herself if she should know who he was but then she nodded and left. A short moment later she came back to him with a large glass of Whiskey.
โ€œHere you go, sir.โ€
โ€œThank you, my dear.โ€ Alastor said as he took the glass from her and drinks its contents in one big gulp. Then he puts the glass on a nearby table and smirks at her. โ€œNow, darling, how about a little dance?โ€
Without waiting for her to answer he pulls her into him and starts gently swaying from side to side with her. He holds her very tightly and makes sure that she couldnโ€™t move away from him.
The young dancer didnโ€™t know how to respond and in a weird way she was even intrigued by the man. She met many pushy men before but this one was different. He was rather charming actually. He looked deeply into her eyes and she looked into his. She was drawn to him, like he put a charm on her. They danced for a long while and she felt the sudden urge to just lean in and kiss him and she noticed that he must have felt it too. She noticed how his face got closer and closer as he slowly leaned down towards her. She closed her eyes but before she could feel what she wanted, no, needed to feel so badly, Alastor had to pull away.
The young dancer opened her eyes again and saw the reason: Mimzy.
โ€œAlastorโ€ Mimzy said. โ€œDarling, donโ€™t you wanna dance with me? You always do, Iโ€™m just waiting for you.โ€
โ€œMimzy, my dearโ€ฆโ€ Alastor said and gave her a sharp look. โ€œDidnโ€™t you just see me dance with this lovely young lady?โ€ He took the hand of the younger woman.
โ€œBut you always dance with me.โ€
โ€œBut not tonight. And now, if you donโ€™t mind I would like to keep dancing with my lovely darling over here.โ€
With that Alastor turned around and brought all his attention to the young dancer in front of him, making Mimzy go away in anger.
โ€œIโ€™m sorry about her, my darling.โ€ He said softly.
โ€œYou must be very popular when she is fighting for your attention like that. But then again Mimzy is fighting for all the attention all the time.โ€ The young lady giggled softly.
โ€œYes, well, she does enjoy attention a lot. But she is not getting mine tonight. Not when I have such a lovely young woman such as yourself right here in front of me.โ€
They continued dancing for a long time but once again Mimzy interrupted them by reminding the young lady that she had to serve drinks to the other guests and couldnโ€™t dance with one man all night long. Alastor kept smiling at the whole situation but the young dancer managed to see a hint of annoyance in his smile. So she decided to be bold and gave him a gentle little peck on the cheek which put a more genuine smile on his lips.
โ€œMy dear, how about I wait for you until your shift is over and then we take a nice walk through the woods? Would you like that?โ€
โ€œOh that sounds lovely.โ€
โ€œThen, let me give you something so that you wonโ€™t forget that Iโ€™m waiting for you.โ€
Alastor pulled her closer to him once again but this time without hesitation he pressed his lips onto hers in a firm kiss. His arms were wrapped around her waist and she brought her hands up to his neck and then into his hair.
The kiss they shared was full of passion and desire and when Alastor pulled away with a wide grin, the young girl knew she was in for a real treat.
Alastor with a female reader who is selectively mute Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is part 2 of this story. Mimzy is gonna be in this story as well, since we havent heard her talk yet or what her personality is like, im just gonna write how I think she will talk and act. Enjoy everyone:)
***5 Months Later***
You had adapted to hell surprisingly well. Yes there was some bumps along the way, due to you being mute, but you adjusted as time went on. Your relationships with everyone in the hotel had grown significantly. Charlie adored you and loved you like a sister. She was this close to telling her dad if it was possible to adopt you into the family, but you frantically declined as you suspected it would complicate things, but it was sweet that she loved you so much to do that. Vaggie slowly adjusted to you, don't blame her, she was always untrustworthy of everyone in the hotel, but she came around sooner or later. She offered to teach you some self defense as you were still an easy target. It was a bit difficult, but you managed despite your clumsiness. Angel Dust was a bit annoying in the beginning as he really wanted to hear your voice, but the puppy dog eyes you gave him made him quit. Now he treats you like his bestie, taking you shopping and having you attend some of his shows, which flustered you, but you wanted to support him. Niffty found you adorable when you first met and she still does. She has tried not to speed run towards you, since it always shocked you, causing you to drop your notepad in the past. It took a while, but she was able to do it. Husk was literally your dad figure. He always came over when you appeared upset about something and offered to cheer you up with his card tricks or make you a virgin cocktail, especially since your alcohol tolerance was negative 1000. You loved that he became that caring towards you, especially how gruff he was with everyone else. Sir Pentious was a new addition to the hotel. He first appeared when he tried to blow up the hotel a second time, only for Al to defeat him easily. Later after that, he became a patron at the hotel. He wondered why you didn't speak, but after a talk with Charlie and Vaggie, he no longer questioned it. He did enjoy your company, whenever you came to his work space, as he was crafting his inventions. His Egg Bois adored you as well, which pleased him. Alastor had become almost your protector/best friend. Its crazy to think how in the beginning, he was a bit annoyed when you didn't respond to his question, to now where he was always there to help you whenever you were in a pickle. His radio tower was your sanctuary as you always headed up there during his broadcasts. Alastor would always anticipate you coming as well, as it made his day a whole lot better whenever you showed up and took a seat next to him, admiring him as he continued his broadcast.
Getting ready for the day, you stood in front of your mirror, making sure you look spiffy. Alastor had invited you to attend one of Mimzy's shows at her club. Excitement raced through your body, and you nodded quickly when he asked you. Alastor mentioned before that her shows were very entertaining, so it made you very happy when he invited you to come. After a few minutes of looking yourself over, you walked over to the bed and grabbed the cell phone that was there. Charlie had gotten you it a few weeks ago as a gift. She had installed a text to speech app on it, so whatever you typed on the phone, a voice would respond back. Tears filled your eyes when she gave it to you, almost apologizing for all the trouble she had to go through to get it for you, but she said it was fine and it hardly cost anything. You knew she was royalty, so one cell phone wouldn't be a big deal, but it was to you. After a bunch of persuasion from Charlie saying it was really alright, you accepted the cell phone, not before engulfing Charlie in a hug. It took a while to get use to it, but it got easier over time, and it was a whole lot better then the notepad.
Rushing out of the room, your feet carried you over to the lobby, where a certain deer demon was patiently waiting. Alastor's ear twitched when he heard the pitter patter of your feet, turning to face you with a smile. Stopping to catch your breath, you stood in front of Al and gave a small wave, causing him to chuckle. His eyes scanned your outfit and found it to be perfect for today's activities. "Excited are we, my dear?" Looking at Al, you nodded your head, smiling widely. How adorable he thought. Hooking his arm with yours, Alastor banged his microphone on the ground, causing a portal to open in front of you. "Transporting like this may be new to you, my dear! Hold on tight!" The both of you entered the portal. It felt extremely odd, but you powered through it. The portal had brought you in front of a large building, with a large neon sign reading "Mimzy's." There was a crowd of demons around the building, probably ready for the show, as Mimzy was very popular. Entering inside, your eyes were drawn to the decor. It was a lavish place, the walls were covered in burlesque posters, and string lights decorated the ceiling. It had a very spacious bar and in the center of the room was a large stage with a small band in the background. Heading over to a certain section, there was a table that read VIP. This must be for us, since Alastor was a frequent visitor at this place. Sitting down in the seat, Alastor called over a server, asking for their most popular giggle water, while turning to you and asking what you would like. Taking your phone out, you typed your answer and played it out:
"๐™น๐šž๐šœ๐š ๐šŠ ๐šœ๐š‘๐š’๐š›๐š•๐šŽ๐šข ๐š๐šŽ๐š–๐š™๐š•๐šŽ ๐š™๐š•๐šŽ๐šŠ๐šœ๐šŽ."
The server was confused at that, but just shrugged and nodded while going over to complete the order. Alastor was not fond that you had to resort to that annoying technology to speak, but he did noticed how more calm you were using it then the notepad, so he kept his opinion to himself. After the server returned with the drinks, the lights began to dim, and the crowd began to let out cheers, as the main entertainer made her way to the stage. Mimzy was a very short demon, a little chubby, but very gorgeous. Her flapper dress suit her very well, as she made her way to the center of the stage. "Good evening, Ladies and Gents! Y'all ready for tonight's performance?" Cheers and whistles were the response to that. "That's what I like to hear! Hit it boys!" The stage lights flashed, as Mimzy walked closer to the front of the stage, standing in front of the microphone, ready to amaze everyone.
(LOVE THIS SINGER, Check her out)
The performance drew to a close, and you were blown away. Her voice was amazing. Loud cheers and applause radiated throughout the whole room, as Mimzy gave a bow. Both you and Alastor clapped with the crowd as Mimzy left the stage, leaving the band there, as they played some jazz to keep the entertainment alive. Alastor turned towards you, asking if you enjoyed the show, to which you responded with an enthusiastic nod. "Why Alastor! You made it" a familiar voice, called out from behind the both of you, as you saw Mimzy walking towards the both of you. "Of course, Mimzy my dear! You do know how much I adore your performances!" Alastor smiled as he greeted Mimzy, placing a kiss on her hand. Mimzy's eyes then locked on you. Oh boy, you hoped she was friendly. "Oh My Goodness! Who is this adorable little peach?!" Oh thank Lucifer, she was a nice demon. "Ah yes! This is another acquaintance of mine! Say hello my dear!" Mimzy glanced at Al when he spoke, then turned back to you with a kind smile. "How ya doin suga~? Did my voice blow you away?" Feeling uncertain, you wondered if she was going to treat you differently if she knew you were a mute. She seemed friendly enough, plus Al said she was a good friend. Slowly you grabbed your phone and typed out what you wanted to say to Mimzy.
๐šˆ๐šŽ๐šœ! ๐™ธ ๐šŽ๐š—๐š“๐š˜๐šข๐šŽ๐š ๐šข๐š˜๐šž๐š› ๐š™๐šŽ๐š›๐š๐š˜๐š›๐š–๐šŠ๐š—๐šŒ๐šŽ ๐šŸ๐šŽ๐š›๐šข ๐š–๐šž๐šŒ๐š‘. ๐šˆ๐š˜๐šž ๐š‘๐šŠ๐šŸ๐šŽ ๐šŠ๐š— ๐šŠ๐š–๐šŠ๐šฃ๐š’๐š—๐š ๐šŸ๐š˜๐š’๐šŒ๐šŽ. ๐™ธ ๐šŠ๐š– ๐šœ๐šŽ๐š•๐šŽ๐šŒ๐š๐š’๐šŸ๐šŽ๐š•๐šข ๐š–๐šž๐š๐šŽ, ๐šœ๐š˜ ๐™ธ ๐šŠ๐š™๐š˜๐š•๐š˜๐š๐š’๐šฃ๐šŽ ๐š’๐š ๐šข๐š˜๐šž ๐š๐š’๐š—๐š ๐š๐š‘๐š’๐šœ ๐šŠ ๐š‹๐š’๐š ๐š˜๐š๐š.
After the voice played, you pointed your eyes to the ground, feeling very shy. Clenching your hands under the table, you worried Mimzy was going to mock you for not speaking. "Oh my satan! Alastor, where did you find this angel? She is simply precious!" Mimzy had grabbed your cheeks, and began to squish them, like what a mother would do to a baby. "She had arrived in Hell a few months ago! She is a shy little one!" Alastor chuckled as he watched Mimzy coo at you. "No apologies needed suga~! Just happy you enjoyed the show! Here, let me give you a VIP pass so you can visit with no problems. Okay, darling?" Mimzy let go of your cheeks, and handed you the card. She had a very motherly side to her, which you liked. Grabbing the card, you nodded your head and smiled. Mimzy smiled and hugged you again. She then departed both of you as she had to meet up with some gents on the other side of the room. Both you and Alastor stayed at the club for a little bit, chatting about certain topics until you realized it had gotten late. Exiting the building, both you and Alastor decided to walk back to the hotel. Could have teleported, but the breeze was nice plus you both needed to stretch your legs after sitting for a long time. Your arm was hooked with Al's as he walked with you. Always such a gentleman. After walking for a couple of minutes, Alastor had stopped in his tracks. "My dear, may I ask you a question?" Alastor turned towards you, as he let your arm go, as he left you to stand in front of him. Staring into his eyes, you looked to see if there was any evidence of anger in them, but you found none. There was a little hint of sadness though, yet Alastor was still smiling. "I noticed during conversations with others, you always apologize! Why is that, my dear?" Tilting his head at you, he waited for your response.
Painful memories from your past began to flash in your mind once Alastor asked that question. Tears started to form, but they were blinked away. Reaching for your phone with trembling hands, you slowly wrote your answer and played it for Al.
Tears rolled down your cheeks, as you pointed your head to the ground. Everything you felt from back then began to pour out of you, and you couldn't stop. Alastor was silent in front of you, and you figured he was upset with you, but before you could type a response, you were caught off when you felt someone wrap their arms around you. You found your head being placed in the crook of his neck, as he held you tightly. HE WAS HUGGING YOU?!? The last months while staying at the hotel, you were able to find out that Alastor didn't liked being touch. Yes, he would touch you and the others, but it mostly involved an arm hook, slight shoulder hug or head pat. You never expected that Al would be hugging you like this. After a few seconds, he began to speak. "I am truly sorry you had to suffer through that, my dear! But let me tell you this, people who mock and taunt others for being odd or a little strange are the tฬธอ„ฬrฬดฬ’ฬฆuฬตฬ…ฬฆeฬดฬ„ฬข ฬถอ„ฬฐsฬดฬˆฬฑcฬทอ’ฬชuฬถฬ€ฬงmฬถออ‡ ฬธฬ”อŽoฬดฬ€ฬฆfฬธอ„อ” ฬถฬƒฬฆtฬถฬฝอˆhฬถอŒฬŸeฬดฬพฬง ฬดอ€ฬฏeฬดฬ€อaฬดอฬžrฬธฬŠอ™tฬธฬ•ฬฐhฬธฬ‰ฬค! They are the true monsters! Don't believe their heinous words! To me, you are the sweetest and most unique demon in all of the seven rings! Never apologize for being the way you are ever again!" His words made you cry even more. Moving your hands slowly, you placed them on his back, tightening the hug. You felt the slight flinch from his body when you did that, but he slowly relaxed and squeezed you tighter.
The hug lasted for a bit before Al slowly released you, snapping his fingers to have a handkerchief appear in his hands, as he wiped your tears away. Once he finished, he leaned down and placed his hands on the sides of your mouth, moving them up to make it appear you were smiling. "Come on, my dear! Smile!" The smile on his face was outstretched, revealing all of his sharp teeth. His antics never ceased to make you laugh. Looking at him, you gave him a great big smile. Chuckling, Al leaned back up and grabbed your arm again, continuing his walk back to the hotel. After about a few minutes of walking, you both stopped in your tracks as an unknown voice called out to the both of you. "Well well well, if it isn't the Radio Demon."
Laid beneath the heavy hotel sheets and warm blanket provided by your room, was you.
You would twist and turn under the covers, as if trapped in an upcoming dream that was meant to either haunt or kiss you with kindness and love yet despite this of course your slumber would soon be interrupted by the loudness of a few rows of knocks.
At first it awakened you slightly, your eyes barely opening but your mind not completely conscious.
But just as your eyes were about to close again to go back to sleep there was another set of incredibly loud knocks to which this time got your brain to finally react.
Your arms slowly brought your body up in a sit-up position, uncovering yourself from the sheets to get your legs over and off the bed, feet now snuggling in some cozy slippers.
Your nightwear was simple but comfortable, fitting exactly all your right preferences and into your favorite colors and/or patterns. It seemed to slightly resemble pj's from the more modern times but with your own 30s twist on it for nostalgia.
You would've ignored the knocks and stayed in bed longer, but you were never much of a sloth in heaven so you got up as you usually would.. yet somehow you were even more sleepier and tired down here.
Turning on a single lamp just to brighten up the room you slowly moved up to the door and opened it immediately-- not the safest move but here you were.
Opening it up you encountered yet again that damned face.
"Hel--!" you closed the door on the visitor, you were not in the mood to talk to him while he was acting all bright and loud at your front door like some sort of overzealous salesman.
But he wouldn't leave until he got to finish what to say, you knew that very well from him.
'Just see what he wants and get it over with.. the faster you deal with him the quicker he'll be away..'
With a reluctant sigh, you opened once more.
"--lo!" you let him finish his single word greeting before you crossed your arms with attitude, not exactly thrilled about this.
"What do you want, can't you see I am sleeping?.."
Alastor cackled lightly, "Sleeping? Oh dear then you must be sleep walking right now!"
"Iโ€ฆwha..โ€ Your eyes squinted in confusion, barely understanding what the hell heโ€™s saying with how slow your brain was processing all this โ€œYou know what- I'm not in the mood to play games with you right now so what exactly do you want..โ€
โ€œOh darling stop acting so harshly, Iโ€™m just here to tell you to come down and eat! You missed breakfast with everyone and you know how the princess wants you to meet the rest of the residents properly!..โ€ he paused, then went back with a slightly ominous tone โ€œ-it doesnโ€™t seem like your setting a good first impression on yourself my dear.โ€
You tensed up, knowing that to some extent he could be rightโ€” and you really wanted to get back home soon after the fight..
You sighed, โ€œIโ€™ll go down when I want to and when I think I'm readyโ€” and do you ever leave people alone? I constantly ask you to fuck off and you just donโ€™t.โ€
His grin widened, it irked you more โ€œNo dear, I donโ€™t.โ€
โ€œ...Noted.โ€ And for the last time you slammed the door in front of his face again and you locked it with no intent to open it a third time for him if he knocked again.. which luckily for you he didn't.
Turning your heel you then proceeded to drop down on the bed and lay flat on your back.
"Please.." you mumbled, your eyes and chest heavy, "Please.. help me get through this and get back home safely.."
Although.. Alastor behind the door wasnโ€™t exactly thrilled. After all, you told your own father to walk away and bite the curb.
He began grumbling under his breath, your disrespect really starting to claw at him.
โ€œWho in the world would tell their own father who raised them himself to โ€˜fuck offโ€™.. where did I fail in raising this wretched girl..โ€ yet a part of him knew he couldnโ€™t blame you, you had much good reason to act this way.. but he always preffered to be the one in the right.
If he wasnโ€™t so desperate to try to regain your respect, admiration, and acceptance he wouldโ€™ve held the door opened and had his shadow scare the absolute soul out of you as to teach you a lessonโ€”
But he knows that will only drive you away even more, so he bit his tongue.
------------------------------------------------
You rushed downstairs with your shoes clicking every step of the way, dusting yourself off and fixing your halo as you went down the stairs.
Reaching the end you turned your head to the left where the seating area was, the right to see a space of nothing. Both ways were quiet, no signs of life you could hear or see at the moment
"Hm.." taking a few cautious steps forward to continue to eye your surroundings, becoming a little nervous that maybe you took much longer to get ready than you initially thought.
"Hello?.." Your voice echoed and bounced across the large spaces inside the hotel, light vaguely shining from the glass windows and doors that lead as the main entrance and exit of the building. The air floating several dots of small dust against the light and the silence could almost be deafening--
until you walked a bit further into the middle of the place.
"New here?" A low and deep voice cut through the empty sound, booming from a turquoise green environment that seemed to be dressed up as a bar.
The bar looked a bit out of place compared to the rest of the red color schemes of the hotel, not only does the green and blue hues make it pop more but it seems as if it was ripped right out of a building and placed in there.
You turned and faced the direction of the voice-- although weary you really wanted to find the princess to apologize for your oversleeping.
Walking towards the voice you noticed that it was a dark brown cat with silver fur, a hat, bowtie, a unique set of wings, and a calm scowl on his face. He seemed to be leaning against the bar and cleaning a glass with a small towel. He seemed to be looking at you and referencing you as well.
"Oh! Hello mister!.." you walked up to the bar hastily, giving him a very small wave as you came up "You know where I could find her highness?.. I need to apologize for coming down here late..!"
The anthropomorphic cat shrugged his shoulders as he then went to place the now clean glass in his hands down and bring up another one and start cleaning that too. His eyes going from you to the actions he's doing "For all I know she's probably up in her room preparing her next 'lesson plan'. Other than that, I know shit to nothing."
You felt slightly discouraged as you looked off to the side "Well.. then, I suppose I just have to wait?" you asked, your brows furrowing in concern and eyes widening in a sort of 'doe' way. Not like you were trying to, it was just part of your look.
"I wouldn't know, stay here, stay there, stay anywhere. Not like it matters."
There was a pause, you thought that maybe this could be a good time to ask some questions and get an idea of how things work here. "May I stay here for a bit? If you don't mind?.. "
And with a second shrug of his shoulders, he said "Be my guest."
"Thank you.." you pulled out one of the bar stools in front of the bartender and sat on one of them with your arms leaning against the bar table and awkwardly just sitting there-- until you spoke up again.
"Sooo.." you started, the bartender looking up at you almost disinterested "How are you.. sir?.."
Another slight pause, he replies "Who cares, and just call me Husk it saves the more words you would have to say."
"O--kay!.. well uhm.. sir- Husk!" you leaned against the bar table yourself to try to start making proper conversation.
"So.. after all this-- you know the fight between Heaven and Hell.. I'm planning to go home ri--"
"Yeah yeah, what about it?" he interrupted you, your impression of him not really turning out very well.
"Uh.. so.. what I'm trying to ask is- how do I survive this place till I get to go back home? Any ways to avoid trouble or maybe at least not come off bad to the rest of the residents?.."
Husk took a moment staring at his glass that he was cleaning, seeing as he now had a new customer who needed advice from this experienced bartender. He would calmly set down his towel before responding,
"Coming off bad is the least of your problems down here, to survive you must avoid sticking out like a sore thumb.. which doesn't exactly seem like an option for you since you look like a fuckin' glowstick."
Your shoulders perked up in slight embarrassment, barely recognizing that somehow you seemed to faintly glow against the dark colors and shadows of your environments since you've been down here.
"But you also must make sure to connect to the right people, and avoid making deals with sinners that only want to drag you through the mud for their own benefit."
That part seemed to peak your interest a bit.. "Avoid and connect.. who would you recommend for those two things?.. is there anyone in particular I should shy away from?"
"I would say stay an arm's length away from everyone in hell, even in the hotel." He seemed to be looking down under his bar table, reaching for something.
"Not all of us are bad but it's more of a chance for you to get back home unscathed. Besides that, the Princess would be a good person to befriend."
"Hmm.. " you hummed in thought, feeling a bit curious about wanting to know if Alastor is someone to be wary of here. You already knew that he wasn't someone good to stick with but needing the opinions of others would help and set you at ease.
"Well.. should I stay away from the red deer man?--"
"Stay away from him at all costs." Husk's voice seemed to raise in volume slightly as he unintentionally slammed a bottle of juice down on the table.
Oh..well that made you jump slightly.
"That demon you seem to be referring to, is Alastor, he isn't someone to be taken lightly. An overlord like him shouldn't be dealt with in any way.."
"Wait.. What's an overlord, mister?.."
"..It's someone who's gained power down here for centuries, dealing with souls and owning many of them gives you that kind of status.." there was a bit of a somber expression on his face as he then went to pour the liquid in the glass in front of him.
"Alastor is one that you should stay away from, at all costs. That sadistic fuck only kills and kills for fun and manipulates those for their souls," He then pushed the glass lightly at your hands that were resting on the table, gliding across the wood only to lightly bump into you. Your hands themselves are a bit too shocked to even move at the moment.
"I can't imagine what he would want with yours but considering your own status.. wouldn't be surprised if he took an interest in you."
'I guess I was right,' you thought 'he's still as sick in the head as he was before..'
you wanted to tear up, you weren't quite sure why.
maybe you hoped that he wasn't as bad as you remembered.
that maybe you exaggerated.
that your memory failed you.
that for your sake, he somehow changed, that he learned his lesson down here.
instead he thrived, thrived and overcame, took over and is now an 'overlord'..
he only got worse and played into his sick fantasies and killed more than you could imagine for his own benefit.
you bit your lip lightly as if trying to hold something back, hold your disappointment in.
"So.. is it fair to say he is a bit famous for being a merciless killer?.."
"Basically it."
'as if it couldn't get any worse.'
Husk seemed to notice your conflicting expressions, since he seemed to sound a bit more gentle this time. "Look, kid, this whole thing will be some kind of culture shock. But just stay away from him and others similar, you're only asking for trouble if you do."
You were in fact, just a kid.
Maybe not one by definition, mentally you're not the same as the day you died, but inside you're still a little girl somehow. Scared and frightened, weary of the world--
a girl who needs her god-forsaken father.
but he isn't worth it.
since he's become who he truly was, and belongs right where he is.
"Follow that, and you'll get home just fine." and just like that Husk backed away to go work at the back of the bar to leave you with your thoughts, assuming that perhaps the full realization of the dangers in hell and how close they are could be infecting your brain.
Letting you take a minute to breathe, you finally looked down at the glass below your chin on the table.
It was a cup of a colorful liquid, you held the cup and put it up your nose to smell if there was alcohol.
None at all.
Your brows raised a bit in intrigue, maybe just the fact that you were an angel or seemed a bit young gave him the idea to give you anything that wasn't alcohol..
He seems like a good bartender.
You brought the drink up to your lips to quench that subtle thirst you had, the flavor of the drink tasted just as good as it would have in heaven or in life.
"Heyy Huskyy!" a new unique voice exclaimed from your right hand side, the noises of the bar chair moving in and out made you stiffen slightly.
Husk turned only to aggressively point a finger at the new person beside you. "Do not call me that yo--"
"Yeah yeah, anyway could you give me something fun with a bit of a kick to it?"
The cat rolled his eyes as he proceeded to grab a clean cup to mix something similar up to what this guest wanted. "Why? Finally something good happened to you for once?"
"Basically yeah, I got no shoots to do today due to Val's car breaking down and the guys he hired got kidnapped by a gang so I don't have to see my boss's bald head all fuckin' day! You know how amazing that is??"
You took a moment to move your head slightly to take a peak at this new person, surprisingly they seemed to look back at you too.. eyes widening slightly in the process.
It was a tall and slim guy that dressed rather provocatively, had fur that seemed soft to the touch and the extra arms and eyes seemed to give you an idea that he was a kind of spider sinner, his color scheme full of soft and hot pinks. A rather interesting individual to say the least..
"Say.. aren't you the angel gal that Charlie won't shut up over? You're much prettier than I thought you'd be."
"Lay off her Angel, the kid's got enough on her plate as it is."
"Now now whiskers, I haven't even gotten to introduce myself!-" he then proceeded to take out one of his four gloved hands towards you, waiting for you to shake it.
"The names Angel Dust toots, famous pornstar in all of hell!" he bragged, exclaiming proudly and seemingly posing as well.
Wait..
That Angel Dust?
The sinner that Charlie presented as her evidence of the hotel?
"Hey.. I.. think I know you.." you mumbled, your head turning slightly and slowly shaking his hand back while in a sort of an โ€˜aweโ€™ trance.
Angel Dust chuckled a bit, a tint of awkwardness behind it. "Sweetheart!.. you seem too young to be watching my work!.."
"I.. no nononono! not like that!--" you shook your hands in panic, eyes widening in shock as you tried your best to get your words out. "I meant as in I've seen you before when Princess Charlie was presenting her evidence to the court in heaven!.. "
"Oh? Now this is new.." Angel leaned against the bar table yet his whole body faced you as he spoke to you. "Charlie hasn't told me about this yet.."
"Yes!.. you seemed to be developing quite well in reaching heaven! Of course there's some.. issues I see there are with both places so I'm unsure how it's going exactly but!.." you smiled more fondly at him, a genuine expression with a sense of hopeful pride for him "You seem to be making amazing progress!.. genuinely, I think if you keep it up.. you'll make it just fine!"
Angel's eyes warmed up a bit, his expression changing into one in which it feels almost bittersweet. "Pfft, kid you and your ideas are cute but it's too late for m--"
A sudden poof of a shadow solidified into none other than of course, that demon of a formal man.
"Greetings! I see we're all mingling in vibrant conversation here."
You held back the biggest urge to let out the loudest sigh in all your afterlife.
'Where's the princess when you need her..'
โ€”----------------------------------------------
It was an early evening in New Orleans, and Alastor had some business to attend to.
Unfortunately, he didn't have anyone to look after you and he wasn't willing to leave you alone at home even if you were only thirteen years of age.
Your adolescent years were the years in which Alastor knew he would fear the most. He knew that the youth of today like to frolic in hobbies and places that are considered taboo and absolutely prohibited.. not like he was one to judge he's been a serial killer for almost decades at this point.
Nonetheless, he didn't need you to get any ideas to misbehave while he was gone. Even if you were one of the most well-behaving children in the world he knew that even the smallest of thoughts can plant seeds of defiance in the mind.
He would rather not risk anything.
"Hurry now _____! We can't be any minute late now! Remember, punctuality is good character!" He exclaimed from the exit of your shared house while holding your jacket and thick scarf in his hands and his own on his back, the small thuds and clicks of shoes against the wooden floor rushing out of your room and through the halls that connected every other room in the home.
"I'm here, father!.. I'm here!" you scrambled up as you fixed yourself up by straightening your outfit and dusting yourself off.
"Good girl, now remember darling we're going to be in a place where only adults belong." He spoke as he would then be putting your coat on for you, with you helping out by sticking your arms out in the process of it all.
"Young impressionable girls such as yourself should never ever be in places like those until you're of age, the only reason why I'm even taking you with me is because I can't bear the thought of leaving you alone while there's a wild killer on the loose!" He would straighten your jacket for you, wrap your scarf around your neck and tuck it in to keep you warm, make sure your gloves were set right and as the cherry on top would then pet your head gently with care.
"I can't have my one and only daughter out for the slaughter now can I?" Real funny Al... "Just keep in mind, don't talk to anyone while walking through there, well anyone that isn't your.. aunt."
You nodded enthusiastically, a tingle of excitement swelling in your chest in finally seeing such a place! Even being in there would make you feel like a cool grown up!.. like getting a small glance at the forbidden fruit of Eden.
"Yes yes, of course father!"
"Good good, now hop to it!"
Cheering as he opened the door for you to exit first, soon after he exited and locked the door behind him. He would continue to lead the way through there.
It was a very cold winter this year, as if it was threatening to snow at any moment yet never did. Cold winds would blow in your faces causing you to sneeze a few times but nothing major. Alastor seemed perfectly unaffected by the weather, nothing but calm and content with his permanent smile on his face. You held up your own smile as well.
The walk was quiet with small chatter between the two of you here in there, mostly your father asking you if you were okay and how he's going to make sure to brew up some warm stew when you both come back home.
It wasn't too much of a walk, most clubs were nearby due to how high demand they are but father always forbid you to ever go in them let alone peek inside, but since he will be around and has given you permission to see the forbidden, the air that hit you only ended up feeling like a chill of excitement instead.
You two finally arrived at the entrance, jazz music booming against the doors only heightened your senses even more.
Alastor looked at you from over his shoulder, "Behind me dear, keep your hands to yourself, don't talk to strangers, don't accept anything from strangers, and if anything happens just scream for me and I'll assist you.. oh and don't get far, stay behind and close at all times so I don't lose you." You could've sworn you've heard these rules many times even in public places that weren't clubs, but you simply nodded and obeyed.
Now that you properly noticed, he seemed to be dressed rather more sophisticated than usual. You would usually see him dressed this way for nights out and you could even smell that specific cologne he would put on when visiting jazz clubs in town so it does make sense but.. why was he wearing his work coat and not his going-out coat?... Maybe it wasn't anything but, you knew how calculated your father was to an extent.
He knocked on the door, when it was opened a tall man was seen through the crack. Alastor mumbled something to the man and the door widened further, seemingly accepting the two of you with just a few simple words from your father.
You two walked in and you stayed close to him as you were told, yet your eyes were widened and wandering around like birds in the wild.
Your brain was trying to absorb all the colors, noises, and smells all at once-- the smell of alcohol, cigarettes and cigars weren't pleasant in the slightest but the sweet and tangy scents of women's perfume and men's cologne were a treat to your nose.
It was surprisingly much warmer inside, aside from all the people here you also assumed that the collective body heat, sweat, and breaths made the room much more manageable than the winter streets.
People were on either side of the room eating, drinking, chatting to their heart's content while the others danced their souls out and listened to jazz with pure enthusiasm and joy you have only ever seen at those parties your father has taken you before.
Cheering, yelling, laughing, and talking were amongst one of the noises you heard aside from the music blasting across the room.
The various colors of women's dresses, heels, make up, and accessories had every color of the rainbow while men's suits would mostly be muted or monochrome at best, but there were few specks of color amongst the men at times.
"Whoa.." your throat couldn't help but show your amazement for all that was around. A twinge of amazement growing and growing each step of the way.
You two stopped in front of a large bar, Alastor stopped to talk to the bartender before pausing and looking back at you to continue following him. He seemed a bit peeved from that short interaction.
'Dad says he had business with someone here.. does it have to do with auntie?'..'
A huff of air escaped through your nostrils while you followed closely, saying a few 'excuse me miss/mister' here in there while passing by. Many people noticed you but didn't bother, or others didn't even acknowledge you due to them being caught up in their own world.
You two walked to the very back of the club where the band was playing their hearts out, you seemed to have walked behind the stage where the decorative curtains hid behind the stage and covered where the magic is made. It was much darker compared to the brightly lit place, there seemed to be a short hall of several backstage rooms, more specifically dressing rooms for singers or performers.
You two stopped yet again but at the entrance of one of the rooms, you smiled when your dad then started knocking on it twice. After all, it had the name 'Mimzy' plastered in bold.
The door was opened with slight caution but soon opened wide when the voice inside realized who it was that knocked on her door, "Alastor! Sweetie, doll face! Didn't expect you to visit me so soon, come in! And-- oh! My, do my eyes deceive me--"
Your smile only widened further when you finally felt the warmth of two familiar arms, the scent of, what the ladies would call 'Chanel No.5' basically slapped you in the face along with the smell of cigarettes and tobacco- even the feathers in her hair made your nose tickle but you didn't mind, since it was none other than!--
"Auntie Mimzy!!"
"______ dear! Why it's so good to see your little self again, look you've grown so much since the last time I've seen you!"
You giggled at her claim, "But auntie! You saw me only two weeks ago!"
She gasped, her hand over her mouth as if surprised "Oh my goodness! You've got to be kiddin' me! You've grown sooo much in just two weeks! What does your father even feed you huh?"
You giggled along with her before Alastor cleared his throat to catch the attention of the only girls in the hall.
"Why Mimzy dear, I absolutely hate to interrupt your ladies talk but I fear that there's some business you and I must discuss quickly?"
"Oh! Right!.." Mimzy then went to hold your hand gently, the sound of her heels clicked as she tugged you inside the dressing room "Come in dear, I have a few treats I've been given by a few admirers, so you can have some chocolate or cake while I talk to your daddy, does that sound good sweetheart?"
You nodded enthusiastically, almost jumping in excitement after hearing that. "Mhm mhm! Thank you sosososo much auntie! You're the best!!"
"Of course sweetheart, they are all on the vanity." She would then release your hand while you rushed towards the opened heart box full of deserts, you looked at them with such delight before you picked out your favorite and dug in.
Your father and auntie then walked out of the room, but before they closed the door Alastor only said one thing to you "We're right behind the door, if you need anything we're simply going to be here talking okay?"
"O-kay!" you spoke while eating the treats of your choice.
Although..
Gosh... you knew you weren't supposed to but--
'wait.. why couldn't they talk while I'm here?.. maybe it's adult business but- I'm grown enough to at least talk around!..' you frowned slightly while munching. You took your last bite before you took a moment to just sit there in thought..
'maybe just-- just for one second..? it shouldn't be anything bad.. im grown enough to hear this I'm sure..' you then decided to just take slow and quiet steps towards the door of the dressing room, hearing the two hushed voices seemingly quarreling calmly.. but it was still a bit tough to hear everything coherently so you could only try to make out what words they were saying with your ear pressed against the door.
all you could hear is your father say these few broken words:
"mimzy..... my friend.... is all... give...."
Mimzy replied with something along the lines of:
"....great help...but.....really it?.....wont help me any....."
He responded in a bit of a-- snarky tone?.. it was too faint to fully comprehend but you did hear him say:
"......won't risk.... for you...... my daughter...... care of it yourself......"
'Huh?' you thought, a bit concerned 'why am I mentioned.. what about me?..'
There was a sudden pause before you heard more muffled talking but you stopped focusing on what they were saying when you realized that the door knob started jiggling.
Uh oh.. guess they finished a bit sooner than anticipated!
'Oh fu-'
The door widened a bit harshly by Mimzy, she seemed much upset this time herself but at least they both came with a smile.. her's more forced.
Thank goodness you were fast enough to have sprinted and hopped on the chair in front of your aunt's before they could've seen you eavesdrop on them first.
"Well my dear, let's get back home now! All I needed to do was to talk about something important with Mimzy, let's get started on that stew now so you won't catch a cold so soon!"
You nodded sheepishly as you waved at Auntie Mimzy, she seemed a bit too upset to properly acknowledge you at first but she would soon shine back a brighter smile than before and then pet your head quickly. "Bye bye dearie! Don't forget to give your father a hard time at some point! A bit of rebellion is good for the soul!..โ€
You just smiled as you brightly before rushing towards Alastor, who seemed unimpressed. He turned his back towards the exit with you following behind and exiting yourself, closing the door behind him carefully before putting said hand behind your shoulders to lead you outside the establishment.
Your head almost turned back to where you were before due to the sudden distant noises of glass breaking and high pitched squeals of anger pounding against the door that held them back, Alastor kept your head forward from looking behind.
A few minutes later, you two were now outside the club. The inside was just the same as it was when you first walked in. As the door closed behind the two of you Alastor took a moment to just stand there, you followed what he did.
He simply looked forward with an almost blank smile, until his chin slowly looked down at you. It brightened, warmed up, his glasses glistening with his eyes even for just a moment.. a glistening that was only empty from his eyes if he wasn't looking at his pride of joy.
You looked up at him and smiled back warmly, innocent yet fearless.
His few words to you before you two finally walked home couldn't help but make you wrap his arms around his torso into a strong hug, and his arms around your shoulders and caressed your hair that he took care of each morning of every day.
"I will never let anything hurt a single hair on your head, my little dove."
He will protect you from all that threatens to linger, shelter you from the evil world for as long as he can.. for as long as he lives.
And keep you as oblivious as you can possibly be.
โ€œI've found you, my sweet, delectable little Doe..."
You stared up at the forming demon above you as wind whipped at your back, and green fog gradually seeped into the room, making you retreat into a pathetic little corner where you cowered beside the corner kitchen island.
"What... What is this!? What are you!?"
The air around you grew thick with the stench of rancid meat, rotten and burning down your throat as you tightly gripped a wooden spoon, looking around wildly for the source of the otherworldly voice. The temperature of the room suddenly dropped a significant amount as the mysterious green mist fully obscured the air around you.
"My, my, that little woman left me quite the darling lamb, hm?"
"W-What woman!? Who are you-?!"
The sudden burst of anger in your chest quickly chilled into fear when a long, shackled chain, simmering-hot to the touch and emitting an emerald glow latched around your neck with a clink. You scratched at it desperately, pure terror and bewilderment radiating from you as the beast's spindly form stepped into view.
Fear gripped you in its frigid clutches as you clenched your teeth, trying to make out the thing's figure from where you were huddled, only catching sight of an alarmingly wide, sharp-toothed smile, and you stiffened, ready to swing your spoon at the first sight of hostility.
What a lovely little Doe... Mimzy wasn't lying.
The demon took a step forward into your space, growling low when you pressed yourself up against the counter in response, ice-cold fear dripping into your veins and making you tremble with each uncertain shift of your body, each hammer of blood pounding in your head, screaming danger, run, go!
"๐ท๐œƒ๐œ‚'๐œ ๐œ“๐œƒ๐œ‡ ๐›ฟ๐›ผ๐›พ๐œ€ ๐›พ๐œ‡๐œ‚ ๐‘“๐›พ๐œƒ๐‘š ๐‘š๐œ€."
Slender, tarred claws snatched at you from the darkness, bringing you closer to the source of the pungent smell of rotten flesh and stolen screams, and you dropped your weapon with a surprised yelp. A terrifyingly wide smiled gleamed down at you, teeth yellowed and razor-sharp.
You shuddered as the demon brought you close, grinning even wider at your palpable terror. Your eyes didn't open even as its breath shuddered against your exposed nape, unaware of how the soft flesh of a potential mate called to the demon's deeply buried, primal instincts.
"๐›บ๐‘–๐œ‚๐œ€," its chest rumbled beneath you with fury, and you squeezed your eyes shut, body bracing and stiffening as you begged so sweetly for him to let you go, that you'd do anything, take anything but this-
"Anything is a strong word, my dear. It goes far beyond the reaches of what I'll have you do," glowing green stitches stretched the menacing grin across ashen-gray skin as it - no, he - smiled down at you, and you noted his striking red hair and raven-dipped tips framing his slim, sharp features, now that you could see him at such a close proximity.
Half-lidded ruby eyes shone in the darkness, amused by the heavy blush that tinged your cheeks, and your breath hitched when you caught a glimpse of his onyx tongue darting out between his soft, slim lips.
"How interesting..."
With a final kiss against the column of your neck, and a husky chuckle against the edge of your jaw, the demon pulled away, leaving you stumbling for his warmth in the green fog like a little lost fawn. So vulnerable, and so adorably lost.
The remaining crackle of static that wisped through the air tickled against your neck, like a phantom of his breath fanning against your hair and tracing up your arms with the promise of sin.
You could feel the smile in the demon's voice as he left you broken and distraught on the frigid kitchen tile, grasping at your neck for the vanished chain that had slipped through your fingers like smoke.
"I'll see you in hell, darling."
I'm the Fool ๐Ÿฅ€
Alright I haven't written a single thing in MONTHS! So, one of my current interests is Hazbin Hotel so here is an idea for an Alastor story!
Think of the song Goddess by Laufey for future reference. This is just a part of the story (which may be the reason the title doesn't make sense yet) tell me if you'd like to see where else this can go! *This was written with a fem reader in mind*
Alastor x Reader
๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€ ๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€
Imagine:
You were an outstanding jazz singer. Your voice would send chills to anyone that was nearby. You wanted to be famous and knew that one day everyone would know your name. Your next stop on your tour for fame was in a bar in New Orleans ran by a woman named Mimzy.
It was tiny little place nothing too big, but it was better than nothing. Mimzy greeted you and your crew at the door. She showed you to your dressing room and gave the crew time set up on stage.
"Alright everyone! Settle down! Settle down now!", Mimzy takes a breath, "We have a special show for you all tonight!" cheering could be heard.
"Now you all know that I only give you what's best, besides the liquor here of course!" Mimzy giggles to herself," No, today we have a chance to see and hear a new rising star!"
You hold a hand to your heart, closing your eyes and take a deep breath.
"Please give a big loud welcome to the singing sensation Darling Y/N!" Whistling, cheering, applauding all sounds of praise can be heard.
You step on to the stage, waving. "Hello! Nice to see all you folks here tonight! Can't believe you all came here tonight to see little old me, it's simply a pleasure to be here tonight!" You giggle lightly. "How bout we get this show on the road!"
๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€ ๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€
You take a bow on stage, "Thank you all for an amazing night!"
Stepping off the stage gleefully you make your way towards the bar. "Darling! That was perfect, absolutely stunning, your gonna make it big, and when I say big, I mean big bucks!" Mimzy grabs you by the arm. "You'll have to remember me when you make it big after all I'm giving you the help you need for your little stardom." She gives you a wide grin.
"Yes, I'll remember you, I just need to make it there first, and it's not all about the money." You tell her calmly.
"Why of course it's about money, everything is about money, you can't be famous without being rich!" Mimzy laughs. "Silly girl, you still have a lot to learn!" Mimzy takes hold of your hand and begins to walk you through the small club. "I have an idea! Why don't I be your manager?! I can be a big help! I'll get you into all the clubs you need. "
You never really thought about having a manager, you like taking care of things yourself.
"Well, at the moment, Mimzy, I'm really not looking for a manager, I'd just like to keep singing wherever I go, it doesn't really matter where." You say smiling at her.
Mimzy's face scrunches up a bit and she holds your hand tighter. "Well, that's fine I guess but you'll need me one way or another." She mumbles and lets go of your hand. " Whatever, I'd like for you to come back again, you brought in a hefty amount of people, and they absolutely adored you!"
"You really think they did?" You ask shyly.
"Of course I do! Didn't you hear all that cheering? That was all for you and that voice of yours."
You smile, "Yeah I did hear it."
Mimzy grins, "Even though you didn't make me your manager, I'm gonna hold out on your deal that you'll remember me and give me a part of your fame, so I'm gonna introduce you to someone."
"Who's this someone?" You follow Mimzy as she leads you to a table in the corner. You start to feel nervous.
"He'll want to introduce himself, so I'll leave that to him." Mimzy takes a look at you, "Don't worry dear! He's nothing to be afraid of!"
At the table you see a man sitting there with a glass in his hand. You take a moment to take him in. As if he could feel you staring at him, he looks right into your eyes. He stands up from his chair and meets you both halfway.
"Alastor! There you are! Why are you all the way over here?! I thought you'd be in the front!" Mimzy puts her hands on her hips. You stand behind Mimzy suddenly feeling shy.
"Why Mimzy you know I'd want my own view." The man named Alastor says smiling.
"I picked out a seat specially for you for that exact reason!" Mimzy huffs briefly. She puts a hand on the small of your back and pushes in front of her. "Don't be shy now." She whispers to you.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, quite the pleasure Miss Y/N." Alastor holds his hand out and you take it with a stutter. " Pleasure to meet you as well." You say to him feeling that your hand is a bit sweaty.
He takes your hand putting it up towards his lips and gives it a light kiss. Your face begins to warm.
"My, your voice is absolutely beautiful. I don't think I've ever heard such heavenly sounds before." He tells you letting your hand fall yet not fully letting go of your hand.
"Thank you for the compliment, although I'm not that great to be compared to heaven."
"Nonsense my dear, have some confidence in yourself! You are bound to be heard by the heavens themselves."
"You give me too much praise mister." You look away from him, feeling small in his gaze.
"The praise is very well intended, and please call me Alastor." You look back towards him.
"Ahem, Alastor" Mimzy nudges him, and he lets go of your hand. "Tell them what you do."
Alastor takes a look down at her and fixes his glasses," Yes, yes Mimzy I will," He looks back at you giving you a smile. "My dear I am a radio host in fact I'm the most famous host in all of New Orleans, and I'd be most delighted to have you as a guest."
"Really? I'm not all that special, I haven't got much experience, I don't think I'm radio material yet..." You begin to ramble.
Alastor just smiles and tilts his head slightly, "My dear," You look at him and give him a smile of your own. "It would be my pleasure to have you there with me."
You take a minute for yourself, "Alright I'll give it a shot," He grins even wider, " you'll help me right, Alastor? "
"Yes, of course I will darling."
๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€ ๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€
Alright! This just the beginning, please give me your thoughts. I haven't done this in a while. I'll start posting again soon enough once I make myself write again.
Have a good day!!
