You have a horrible habit. Okay, you wouldn’t really consider it to be a habit per say, but you’re not proud of it. You will for it to end.

1) He just… doesn't? He admits that they are great but their music is not Aether's cup of tea. Though he likes "Enter Sandman" and "Whiskey in the Jar".

2) It's a funny story, actually! When I started writing the fic, I didn't know much about the people behind the masks, just their names, and to be honest, I preferred it that way. I decided to make Dew a tuner and a guitar tech in the fic, because it seemed logical to me story-wise - if he earned a place in the band and eventually turned out to be a brilliant guitarist, he needed something to start from, right? Then, some time later I was doing a research about road crews. I started from the Wikipedia article, and there was a list of roadies who went on to join bands and write music, and I was scrolling through it when suddenly I noticed a familiar name. And I was like: "Fuck, am I Baba Vanga??"

3) It's another funny story. I used to play "The Arcana: A Mystic Romance", and one day I saw this fan animation. And I liked the song! It was playing in my head for days! And then I heard "Square Hammer", and the rest is history. I got hooked on and I dragged a friend with me) From the start, I immediately liked Aether. I liked his stage presence, his interaction with Copia, other Ghouls and fans. Not to mention that he looked so hot in those tight pants) Then Dew stomped his way into my heart. And Cumulus! The ferocious lioness of my soul! (As you can see, I'm more interested in the Ghouls than in Papas ^^)

I'm really, really sorry that it takes so long to finish the new chapter. It is Aether-centric, and I started to write it before the sad news arrived. It just… well, it blocked my writing process.

knox finds himself smiling when the woman laughs, feeling that swelter of pride in his chest grow and grow until it completely envelops him. he feels warm, downing a swig of his drink and looking back at the woman. "i knew it!" he celebrates. "you listen to everything! i guess i'm that way, too, but you branch out a little more than i do. well, a lot more than i do. i've never really gotten into techno or anything like that." a sad, dramatic sigh, but he quickly perks up again while she rambles, listening intently and nodding along to every word.

"i always preferred 'i was a teenage werewolf' to anything else, but you have admirable taste," he says, raising his glass to her. "i'll admit, i don't dabble too deep in the cramps, but maybe i'll have to now that i know you do." knox pauses, realizing how flirty that had come out as, and while this woman is stunning he hadn't even meant it that way. hoping it'll be ignored, he blunders on as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. "metallica and iron maiden rock. 'enter sandman'..." he exhales. "that song does wonders for me, man."

the woman seems to wear a permanent smile, and it makes knox feel much more at ease. that has to be the reason he's perked up so much, because his drug of choice is a downer, and it's not like he eight balled it ; simply put, he shouldn't feel this giddy inside, certainly not after the past couple of days he's had. her energy is infectious, creeping tendrils into his soul. he already wants to be her friend. she must be the coolest person around town, that's for sure, and it makes him feel lucky to have sat here in the first place. even better, she likes his taste in music! even tells him that much! knox grins from ear to ear, because if he's got good taste, then so does she.

he eagerly takes her hand to shake, then tilts his head at the compliment, shock apparent in his face. brows raised and jaw slightly unhooked. "oh," he says, then laughs. "thanks! no one's ever said that about my name before." that's definitely going to be something that sticks with him for a while, one of those things he thinks about before he falls asleep. remember that girl who said your name was badass? but then she says her name and knox isn't sure he's ever heard a cooler name on the planet. "woah woah woah. your name is indigo? and you go by indie?! you have the coolest name i've ever heard in my life!" he smiles even wider, if possible. "i'm truly jealous." he goes back for his drink but realizes it's entirely gone, and woah, that was quick. a little quicker than he'd thought. whatever.

"well, indie," knox begins to answer, that is, until he spots a familiar head of hair out of the corner of his eye, and instantly it's like every good emotion he's ever had is inflated out of his chest. why the fuck is silas here? the rest of the band probably is, too. can knox ever get one day away from them? silas, especially? jesus fuck. well, hopefully he won't see knox, so he turns to continue chatting up his new friend, maintaining that same excitement even if it's a little more forced now. only because of how hard his heart is thundering. "me and my band are on tour in the great city of new york right now, so i thought i'd get myself a drink before our big gig tomorrow." he looks at her, curious. "what about you? and what brings you to new york, unless you live here? and if that's the case, you must have some good stories." he certainly has some stories from living in san francisco, so surely new york city is even crazier.

Hades profile

Profile description for my version of Hades for a webcomic I'm hoping to develop.

Hades has a predominantly sardonic personality who speaks very sarcastically with very little filter as to what’s on his mind, often not caring for restraining his own temper. Holds a lot of discontent towards his younger brothers, particularly towards Zeus with his hedonistic lifestyle and loose morals, though Poseidon’s pragmatism can often leave the two of them at odds as well. He possesses the most godly power amongst the three brothers, even before gaining the power over life and death, but he's frankly too tired to take advantage of it. For the most part he seems to only hold concern for Persephone, Macaria, Orthros and Cerberus, for whom he actually shows deep adoration and compassion for, Thanatos and Hypnos, who have worked for him since they were young so they’re quasi-adopted by him, and Hermes, Melinoe, and Zagreus, whom he seemed to raise more than Zeus ever did. The rest of the pantheon, both Olympian and Chthonic alike, could screw off for all he cares. Mortals, both dead and living, he’s pretty impartial to, but believes in acknowledging when a mortal shows themselves to be exceptional, and can often show kindness and generosity to them, despite their inherent fear of him. He is however quick to show his wrath if a mortal tries cheating death, or if they just died through a completely asinine method. 

Unlike the seas and Mount Olympus, which were far easier realms for his brothers to conquer, the Underworld was the native home many Primordials who were none too happy to see that after the tyranny of Kronos was toppled, one of his sons walked into their realm, declaring himself their “king”. However, one primordial, Nyx, saw the potential in Hades to be a sufficient ruler after watching him fight in the war against the Titanmachy, so she appealed to the others to give Hades a chance to rule the realm. Taking to Nyx’s appeal, Chaos wrote up a lengthy contract that Hades was to adhere to by the letter lest he be cast out permanently. Most of this contract is never going to be referred to directly, with exception to the clause that dictates the time he is allotted to leave the realm.

Hades, the undersigned, is permitted to enter the other realms, but will do so only on borrowed time. He will be permitted up to two weeks' time to wander the other realms as he sees fit, at the end of which he is required to return to the Underworld, and is unable to leave again for six weeks. If the undersigned does not return to the Underworld within the time limit, the realm will take it upon itself to return him immediately.

The long time he’s spent underground has left his skin extremely pale, which makes the scars all over his body left from when Kronos consumed him really stand out. His hair normally falls naturally around his face, but when he’s angered, it flares up and almost appears to be made of blue and white fire. When adapting his look from the old Grecian style to a more modern one, he adopts an Italian mafioso aesthetic, wearing a lot of suits and dress attire, gloves and black jewelry.

Okay, so @viterbofangirl tagged me in this and I need to start learning to post my own shit, so what the hell, why not?

I have very random music taste and I listen to my music on shuffle alot, so I made a playlist of the ones I like the most (that way I don’t hafta skip 150 songs to get to the one I feel like) so I’m gonna use that one.

1) History of Violence - Theory of a Deadman

Hoo boy starting off light huh?.... Yeah so, I was in the drive thru at Sonic when I first heard this on the radio and was immediately like “holy shit”. Instead of like metaphors and poetic subtlety, it’s just straight up like “here’s a poor abused woman who resorted to murdering her shitty boyfriend/husband cuz she couldn’t take it dum dum dum”. Even though the actual situation is not the same, this song is perfect for getting across the internal issues and turmoil of my character Mikey. Its so perfect I’m even planning to animate something for it...... if I ever get around to learning animation that is.....     

2) The Vengeful One - Disturbed

Two songs in and I look kinda emo.... But hey this song is soooooo cathartic! I love me a good heavy rock song, and the drums and electric guitar are perfect for my ears to absorb. This song gives off a feeling of overwhelming power mixed with a coldness and disdain for the bad in the world. Obviously, thats not my usual temperment, but its an interesting one to explore! Especially when I’m trying to get into the head of characters that exude that like my OCs Spark or Ryu. Plus its fun to sing in the car X)

3) Enter Sandman - Metallica

Okay this one is just a classic! Same thing with the drums and guitar they both slap SOOOOO GOOD. I don’t really associate this song with any of my characters or fandom favorites, but it DOES give me a super strong urge to learn the drums. EXXXXXXXXIT LIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! OFF TO NEVER NEVERLAND!!

4) We Are Giants - Lindsey Stirling ft. Dia Frampton

I don’t really to listen to music by band or artist, but I LOVE Lindsey Stirling!!! She’s probably my favorite musician! This is such a good song, especially for someone like me. Its a positive song that talks about feeling alone in a crowd and unimportant to the world, but how you really do matter and shouldn’t be afraid to dream big and shoot for the stars. It really speaks to me and the vocalization is so good (especially for singing), not to mention the official music video is animated and AMAZING!

5) Cetus - Lensko NCS

I dunno if anyone knows this song, but damn its good. Its one of those Royalty-Free songs that people look up for their channels, which is how I found it in the first place, but I loved it immediately. Its a peppy 8-bit electronic bop that turns a little Irish jig at the end and honestly I think if I ever start an animation channel I’m totally gonna use it! (Also go support Lensko he make good beats!)

6) Sanctuary - Utada Hikaru

I did not grow up with Kingdom Hearts, and only played KH2 within the past year n’ a half. But good God, the moment that Cinematic Opening came on and this song started playing I swear I astral projected into a daze of feelings without names. I know that “Simple and Clean” is the quintessential Kingdom Heart song that gives everyone feelings, but IMHO Sanctuary blows it out of the water. As beautiful as the animation was, or how curious the occasional backwards lyrics are, or how weird it is having high-res Goofy and Donald in what is essentially an anime opening, I really can’t be distracted from this song when I play.

7) Chemical Plant Zone (Rock Remix) - Zerobadniks

Chemical Plant Song is like, one of the TOP Sonic songs by popular vote (and we know how awesome the Sonic series is musically so thats saying something!), but I could never quite vibe with the normal 8-bit version. I think I first heard this as someone’s ringtone and was immediately like “THATS PERFECT THATS EXACTLY HOW I NEED IT!”. The rock makes the song soooo much better and honestly gives the song the perfect vibe. Unfortunately, it took FOREVER to find cuz none of the Rock Covers of this song were the right one. In fact, tbh, I’m not even sure whether Zerobadniks is the correct artist..... that’s just who everybody was crediting when I found it.

8) The Wolf - SIAMES

YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEOS???? THIS IS A GOD-TIER ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEO. I found the video first, and seriously, if you haven’t seen it YOU NEED TO!!! The beat works perfectly with the images on screen and the story being portrayed is really intriguing, with the lyrics adding to atmosphere without necessarily describing the visuals shown. Even without the animation, the song itself is a banger. It bring to mind the feeling of intense motion forward, but unable to decide whether its movement TOWARD something or AWAY from something. I love listening to this on a nighttime drive.

9) Burn the House Down - AJR

If you ask me, the best way to make a pop song better is to add either violins or trumpets. For this song, it was definitely the trumpets that first caught my attention, and the rest of the song kept me listening. I don’t really know how to describe the vibe of this song, and I don’t have a specific character or story in mind when I listen to it, so its a little hard for me to talk about it. I think the best way I can describe this song and what draws me to it is a feeling of nonchalant go-with-the-flow attitude to shenaniganry. Almost an undertone of “We’re hooligans in a situation that we probably should get out of, but hey we’ve got life and each other so why worry?” At least that’s the closest I can get to a verbal description heh...

10) Slim Pickens Does the Right Thing and Rides the Bomb to Hell - The Offspring 

DANCE, FUCKER, DANCE, LET THE MOTHERFUCKER BURN!!!

So this also has a KICKASS animated music video, but its technically combined with the song “Dividing by Zero”. Now the video works SO well with both, and the shifting artstyles reflect the differing tones of the songs PERFECTLY. However, I have a preference for both the animation and the song on the Slim Pickens half. Its fun to listen to and sing at the top of your lungs and its SO CATHARTIC. Again I cant really describe what my head does when I hear it, but I think you can probably feel a similar vibe if you watch the music video. 

11) No Heaven - DJ Champion

The first time I finished the original Borderlands, I had been playing for days on end, had just finished a long battle with the Destroyer, and sitting back relieved to have beaten it and reflecting on how much I had enjoyed the adventure. Then this song started playing. For what I believe was forty minutes this song looped on my TV while the credits rolled. By the time the credits finished I was pulling up the song to listen to again! What an absolutely PERFECT cherry to add to this experience. This song perfectly encapsulated the chaotic, trigger-happy, morally ambiguous craziness that I had enjoyed and absorbed in this game. Every time I hear it now, I imagine myself in the wastelands of Pandora, driving haphazardly across the sandy dunes as my companions and I shoot and blow up everything in sight. You know, living the dream.......     

12) Hit & Run (Wolfgang Lohr Remix) -  The Electric Swing Circus

I fucking LOVE electro-swing! The electronic beats and rhythm blend so well with the wild and energetic freedom of swing. A lot of electro-swing gives me a vibe of wild movement, reckless abandon, and freedom from constraint. I think this song melds all of these feelings the best! As the last song might have indicated, despite my general nice and sweet temperament, there is a part of me deep down that is an absolute gremlin secretly enamored with chaos, insanity, and a general disdain for law and authority X). But whereas anything Borderlands related has a more “morality is an illusion blowing shit up is real” air about it, this song is far more peppy. More of a “good-hearted but insane” type of chaos, like an 100mph car chase where you end up sailing over the train tracks JUST as the train passes.

13) Kickstart my Heart - Motley Crue

I love this song, but I have to be VERY careful when and where I listen to this. I love songs that make me feel like I’m going a million miles per hour, like I’m gotdam Sonic the Hedgehog. Unfortunately, I may or may not have had multiple instances of listening to this song in the car and abruptly realizing that I’m going like 15mph above the speed limit...... So yeah, regardless of absolutely perfect it feels to play this song while speeding down a nearly empty highway, please be careful and drive responsibly!!!

14) I’m Born to Run - American Authors

Imma just up and say it. This song is a Sonic song; like not like actually from the series but a song for the character. This song encapsulates Sonic as a character better than some of his ACTUAL THEMES (and remember Sonic music are bangers!). Its a song about freedom, living life as it comes, and not letting anything slow you down. Frankly I’m surprised they didn’t make this song FOR the Sonic series, or even the movie! Speaking of which, ironically I heard this song right after watching the Sonic movie in theaters, so yeah there’s no way I can associate it with anything else. 

15) Opa Opa - Antique

Oh, what a PERFECT way to end this list! This may be one of my absolute favorite songs of all time! I don’t remember exactly how I found this song... I think I had just relistened to Dalar Mehndi’s “Tunak Tunak Tun” and was looking for other catchy non-english songs and BOY HOWDY I found one! I know nothing about the band or what the song’s about (its in greek and i dont speak it), but this song is just a masterpiece of retro, pop, and dance sounds. This song feels like the musical and lyrical manifestation of dance and movement. I really REALLY wish I could dance JUST so I can express how happy and free this song makes me feel! This is the BEST song for me to end this list with!

SCD 2020 - Week 7: Musicals Week Results Thoughts

Am I that much of a Six stan that during the & Juliet performance I was excited about seeing Grace Mouat on the Strictly dance floor absolutely ANYWAY omg JJ my heart nooooo 😭. Idk if in general I would pick JJ over Jamie, I really like them both, but purely because Jamie was dancing to one of my favourite musicals I was glad to see him go through even tho he’ll never do it again 😂. But we must talk about... BILL IS DOING METALLICA NEXT WEEK.

Now, I’m not ACTUALLY a hardcore Metallica fan, blasphemous, I know, but they’re so familiar to me cos I’ve basically grown up with them in my house I could name all the members when I was 5 😂. Obviously I know Enter Sandman (dubbed the worst song ever by my dad he’s one of those who loves Metallica but hates their self titled album) and while I prefer a couple of other Metallica songs HAPPY TO GET SOME METAL REPRESENTATION UP IN THIS PLACE 😂. I’m seriously leaking into my music blog here I’m sorry but this is my element 😂. I know on Strictly we’ve had Guns n’ Roses before, I think someone did a Heart song a while ago, I’ll have to look and see what other bands have had one of their songs ballroomed or latined to (that didn’t work did it) but I’m very happy about the BBC expanding their musical choices to stuff other than classic songs and late 20th century to modern chart pop 😂. 89. What does your room look like? It’s full of yellow and white furniture. Cora helped me add a chalkboard wall and we drew some sunflowers in one corner. Nate says my room is soft like me. I have some of his and Cora’s artwork on the walls and a bookshelf crammed full of books to read. My bed is really soft and I have piles of fluffy blankets and cushions and stuffed animals.

95. What’s your strangest hobby, if you have one? I dunno if it’s a hobby, but I kinda collect sunflower things. Anything cute with sunflowers I always wanna buy. I have a cushion, a bunch of fake sunflowers, artwork, some yellow makeup that Cora got for me that has sunflowers on it, tops, hoodies, all sorts.

111. What is your favorite childhood story of yourself? It was kind of funny when I found out that I was really badly allergic to bees. My mom took me to this flower park when I was ten and I was running around the flowers, and then all of a sudden I saw this bee hive. So I go up to it and this bee comes flying right at me, but I thought bees were cool so I just held out a flower and tried to get it to land on me. The bee comes over to my flower and then suddenly a bunch of bees are surrounding me and rubbing on me and I started getting really itchy. And then when I dropped the flower to itch my hand, I must have upset a bee because it stung me. And immediately, I just started having this really bad reaction and I was covered in hives and my face got really swollen and I couldn’t breathe properly. Luckily, my mom carries epipens because she’s allergic to almonds so I didn’t die. But since then, I’ve hated bees.

117. What is your favorite form of self expression? I love singing! I sing in the shower, when I’m tidying the house, when I’m working on uni work and I drag Cora and Nate to karaoke all the time. Cora likes to sing BTS with me and she showed me the DRR machines that have kpop.

64. Can you sing or play any instruments?: I can kind of sing, [very badly, mind you] and sort of play the guitar. I’m tryin’ to learn Come as You Are by Nirvana at the moment... but that’s about it

Your favorite song

At the moment it’s Edge of Darkness by Greta Van Fleet. Last weekend I attended a speaking contest and I was so damn nervous but I listened to the whole From The Fires but especially Edge of Darkness gave me a powerful feeling. As a bonus, my speech was somehow matching the idea of the song so thanks to the song, I managed to put in a lot of feelings at the contest

A song you hate

Alright now don’t come hating me and throwing rotten tomatoes at me but I really can’t stand that new song with Dancing Monkey. I would appreciate it if radio stations could get a little more inventive and play something else besides that

A song that makes you cry

Definitely Dead in the Water by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. I remember when I went in 2018 at his gig, all the way to Berlin. And how I waited in the storm for hours and hours before and I caught first row, right against the barricade. When Noel played Dead in the Water I was there singing my lungs out and without noticing starting to tear up and eventually cry

A song that cheers you up

Twist and Shout by The Beatles and Got my Mind set on You by George Harrison. I simply can’t fight against these songs. No matter how down I am, these two are always here for the rescue. George’s song is tied to a memory in London, 2017, I was in Camden Market and I found this guy who literally offered me George Harrison’s Cloud Nine album for 3£! While I was listening to that song on my phone!

A song that reminds you of a special moment

Free Falling by Tom Petty (and honestly the whole Full Moon Fever album). When I was little, my parents got me my dog, Yumi and we got her from Budapest, Hungary, so we drove a couple of times there before to see her and talk with the previous owner and eventually to take Yumi home. So on the way back home, after we crossed the border back in Romania, it was this exact song playing and my dad turned to me, and next to me on the backseat was Yumi in a little carton box, and he said “Welcome home”

Honestly there are too many. The first one I knew this was probably was Enter Sandman by Metallica. I first learnt that prayer kind of thingy, you know what I’m talking about and then came the rest of the song

So I wasn’t going to say I was that much of a dancer until I went to Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood. The very next day after seeing it at the cinema, I left on holiday and there I found the official soundtrack CD in a MediaMarkt. So at home I played it and literally found myself dancing to some of the songs, especially Hush (the original version) by Deep Purple

There are a lot of them since my parents “carved” my music tastes. Avalon by Roxy Music reminds me of my mom. She always played their Best Of in the kitchen while cooking lunch and I was there with her helping. As for my dad, probably You’re in the Army now by Status Quo and Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival. My dad insisted on learning me some phrases in latin and well... Status Quo was one of them and it came down to this

I don’t have similar preferences in music as any of my besties, though we do like one song in common and it’s Bon Jovi’s It’s my life. We heard it when we were on summer camp in 2016 I think and since then it’s our jam
