When Elle first told her friends that she was a girl—when she first told Tao that she was a girl—Tao knew immediately he had to do something to make sure she knew that he—that they—supported her. Finding the enamel pin with stripes of baby blue and bubblegum pink, was just luck. Elle put the pin on her bookbag, and it’s been there ever since. (Tao smiles every time he sees it.)
The second pin was Elle’s idea. Several months after Tao gave her the first pin, Charlie told them he liked boys. Elle suggested giving him a pin similar to hers, the only difference being the colours used. Charlie wore the rainbow pin on the lapel of his school uniform. At least, until the bullying got really bad, and he stopped. (It broke Tao's heart when he realized Charlie didn't feel pride in himself anymore.)
After that, it became a tradition. When Isaac told them he didn’t think he liked anyone at all, and again when Aled told them he only liked his best friend, Tao and Charlie found pins with stripes of purple, grey, and black for both of them, as well as a rainbow flag for Aled. When Elle’s new friends Tara and Darcy made their relationship public, she presented them both with pink and orange pins.
Three weeks ago, Nick Nelson told almost the entire Paris trip that he gave Charlie Spring a love bite because Charlie is his boyfriend. Tao bought the pin almost as soon as they got back from Paris, but he simply hasn’t found the right moment to present it to Nick. Maybe he’s being a bit dramatic about the whole thing, but it feels like more than a pin this time, and the idea of giving it to Nick in front of other people makes his stomach twist.
He hates to be vulnerable.
His moment comes during a film night. Charlie’s been bringing Nick to them more and more frequently and at first, Tao thought he’d be more annoyed by that, but Nick turns out to be the only person who doesn’t argue with Tao’s film suggestions, still too worried about making a good impression. He knows Nick doesn't actually like the films Tao forces them to watch, but the fact that Nick tries so hard to like them is endearing in itself.
“Can someone help me with the popcorn?” Tao asks, standing in the doorway of his bedroom, already halfway out.
Predictably, Nick, always eager to be helpful, immediately hops to his feet. “I will!”
“Great, thanks.” Tao leads Nick downstairs to the kitchen, pulls out a bag of popcorn, throws it in the microwave, sets it for exactly 2 minutes and 17 seconds, and turns around to face the other boy.
“So, uh, what did you need me to do?”
“Nothing,” Tao answers flatly. “I was lying.”
“Oh.” Nick looks like a confused puppy. “Okay?”
“I wanted to talk to you privately,” Tao says before he can change his mind. “I have something for you.”
Nick blinks quickly, a tentative smile pulling gently at the corners of his lips. “Like a present?”
“Kind of,” Tao pulls the pin from his pocket and presses it into Nick’s palm. “It’s not a big deal.” (That’s a lie, obviously. But Tao doesn't think Nick knows that.)
“What is this?” Nick asks, examining the pin, and turning it over in his palm several times.
“Don’t you recognize your own pride flag?” Tao snarks, arms crossed defensively.
“Obviously, I know it’s the bi flag,” Nick huffs. “I mean, why are you giving this to me?”
“It’s a bit of a tradition in our friend group to get one of these pins for someone when they come out.” Tao stares at a point above Nick’s head, unable to bring himself to make eye contact. “Just, um, a way we show each other support or whatever, I guess."
Nick is silent for a beat too long and Tao wonders what he thinks of it, if he can see past Tao's defensive, snarky tone, and understand the gesture for what it is.
“Oh,” Nick finally says, voice so soft and disbelieving that for a second Tao thinks the Rugby King might actually start weeping in his kitchen. “I’m going to hug you now.”
“Wh—" Tao has no time to react before Nick’s arms are around him, squeezing him tightly. Nick smells like pine-scented soap and his jumper is soft cotton and he hugs like it’s the last time he’s ever going to see Tao, and Tao—
Tao can see why Charlie spends so much of his time wrapped up in his boyfriend’s arms. Nicholas Nelson is a damn good hugger. And for a brief moment, Tao lets himself relax into Nick's embrace.
“Awww,” a gentle voice floats into the kitchen. “How cute!”
Nick lets go of Tao and turns to face the newcomer. “Charlie! What are you doing here? Not that I'm complaining.”
“You were taking too long,” Charlie pushes out his lower lip in an exaggerated pout. “I missed my human pillow.”
Tao rolls his eyes. “You guys are disgusting.”
“Like you and Elle are any better,” comes Charlie’s retort.
Tao feels his face heat up at the mention of his girlfriend, and he knows he’s blushing furiously, but Charlie and Nick are too caught up in each other to notice.
“Alright, I’m going back upstairs. Please remember my mum is home and could walk in here at any moment.”
The other boys flush at the implication, and Tao leaves them like that, heading back upstairs to his bedroom.
“The party has returned,” he announces as he walks in, throwing his arms out dramatically.
Elle looks up at him from her perch on the floor with a raised eyebrow, unimpressed. “Where’s the popcorn?”
“Oh.” Tao freezes, looks down at his empty hands, and remembers who he left alone in the kitchen. “Crap.”

hey guys! this is the first piece of writing im gonna post here. it’s for @heartstopperdrabbleblog, and the word prompt is “relax”. enjoy!
Relax
It was the last day of the form. A-Levels were done. And Charlie Spring was EXHAUSTED.
All of the studying of useless facts, all of the mind-numbing toiling over textbooks, had turned his brain to mush. His dad had given him a ride to Nick’s, but he could barely even focus on his boyfriend at this point. He was just glad Nick had a beach blanket and a soft back lawn, because that’s where he lay now, hoping his mind would eventually slow down.
“Hey.”
Charlie looked up to see Nick sitting next to him, a warm, familiar smile on his face. He already felt his mood improving, despite his exhaustion. “Hey.”
“Tired?” Nick asked.
Charlie sighed. “Yeah. I really am.”
“Mind if I join you? I’m tired too, after this week.” Both boys chuckled wryly. Exam week tended to take its toll on them.
“I don’t mind at all. I never mind,” said Charlie, grinning.
Nick giggled at his words and laid down in the spot next to his boyfriend. It really did feel good to lay flat on his back after being hunched over an exam for hours. So did the heat beating down on him.
“God, why are exam rooms always so cold?” said Nick.
Charlie laughed. “I know, right! Like it’s not enough to test us on heaps of weirdly specific material. We also have to narrowly avoiding freezing to death to pass the term!”
The two rolled with laughter. After catching their breath, Nick looked up at the sky. He pointed to a passing cloud.
“That one looks like you,” said Nick.
“What?” Charlie laughed, a bit surprised by the odd comparison.
“No no it does! See, the little wispies on the top, they’re like your curls. And…and the little spaces in the sections of the clouds are your dimples!”
Charlie was in a fit of giggles by the time Nick mentioned his dimples. “I don’t see anything!”
“Maybe I’ve finally gone mad,” said Nick with a chuckle.
Charlie cupped Nick’s chin, capturing him in an adoring gaze. “Or maybe you’re so in love with me you see me eeeeeverywhere…”
“Shut up!” Nick teased, a blush creeping across his face.
After the laughter had died down, the two continued to lay there on Nick’s beach blanket, staring at the sky.
Charlie turned his head in Nick’s direction. “I’m so glad I get to just relax with you now,” he said.
Nick smiled. He scooted over a bit and gave Charlie a peck on the cheek. “Me too.”
Nick interlaced his fingers with Charlie’s, and Charlie snuggled into Nick’s shoulder. Gradually, they both dozed off, enjoying a well-earned nap.
the end! thanks for reading! i may write a tara x darcy one with a different prompt after this :) have a nice day!

Tickle Fic Prompts
a/n: this turned out so much longer than I expected it to but eh whatever, somebody teach me how to get to the point aahh!!
(pre!nick/charlie)
"Okay, come at me again, and this time, see if you can actually get the ball off me."
Charlie nodded, breathless from running across the pitch for the last hour.
Nick clamped the rugby ball tightly in his hand, getting himself into a sturdy stance as he watched the newest member of the Truham Rugby team charge at him.
Their bodies collided. Nick staggered backwards a few steps but managed to catch himself. Charlie was clearly becoming more confident with his tackles.
They grappled at each other, tugging at shirts and groaning with strain; Charlie more than Nick. "Come on, you're nowhere near the ball," he tried to encourage the younger boy.
"I'm aware, no need to rub it in," Charlie grunted from somewhere around Nick's waist.
Nick chuckled and lifted the ball high above his head. His other hand secured a tight grip around Charlie's shoulder and without much effort, pushed him away, holding him at arms length.
Charlie struggled for a moment. Once he saw where the ball was now, he took a step back, grumbling to himself. "You're not making this very easy, you know?"
"I could but then how would you learn?" Nick teased as he lowered the ball again, remembering the time Charlie tried to do his math homework for him.
Charlie sighed, wiping his nose on the back of his sleeve. "Have you seen yourself? I'm not really built to take down a 6 foot 2-
"Hey, first rule of rugby: Height doesn't equal strength."
"I thought the first rule of any sport was 'Have fun and do your best'."
Nick paused, blinked, then broke out into a rich, wheezy laugh. A laugh, so contagious, the corners of Charlie's mouth curled upwards involuntarily. Shame he didn't hear Nick laugh like that more often.
"Alright, alright." Nick cleared his throat once the laughter died down. "Let's just go again. I know you've got this."
Charlie could feel his cheeks heat up at the encouraging words. Luckily there was enough distance between the two that Nick couldn't tell.
Run. Collide. Stagger. They found themselves back where they just were. Only this time, Charlie was determined. He would do what it took.
Nick could tell Charlie was giving it his all. He had to try a lot harder to stay on his feet and felt the younger boy's hand against his, gripping the ball, several times.
Just when it seemed that Charlie could dislodge the ball, Nick raised his arm over his head again, a smug smile on his face. After all, a lot of the players were taller than Charlie. It was a perfect learning opportunity.
Charlie groaned and made an attempt of tugging on Nick's arm, which barely budged.
Just when Nick thought, Charlie would result to climbing up him like a tree, a set of slender, pointy fingers dug into his exposed armpit.
The sensation that shot through him took him by such surprise, his mouth could not even decide on what noise to make. A throaty wail blundered out. Nick's arm shot down, elbows snapping tightly against his waist. The assaulting fingers were consequently trapped in place.
Charlie could barely compute the older boy's reaction. He stumbled forward, getting dragged along by his trapped fingers; the same fingers Nick was twisting and squirming to get away from.
"Nick, I'm stuck," Charlie chuckled over the sound of the older's ragged laughter. His fingers flexed, attempting to grab onto Nick's shirt. If he kept getting dragged around, he would need to hold onto something in order to stay on his feet.
Nick's knees buckled with a yelp. Charlie's blunt nails brushing against the fabric was enough to bring him down. And Charlie along with him. They crumpled into an awkward pile of limbs.
"I caaahahan't-" Nick whined through a laugh. He had the side of his face pressed into the short damp grass of the pitch. The way his nose crunched up made Charlie's stomach flutter momentarily.
It wasn't clear if Nick meant he couldn't get his arm up to release Charlie or couldn't take any more tickling. Either way, the younger boy had a counter solution. With his free hand, he experimentally squeezed at the crook of Nick's neck.
Another yelp and Charlie was free. The secondary attack had been so unexpected that Nick scrunched up his shoulders up without a second thought. Charlie's trapped hand was released, along with his previously tight grip on the ball.
"So, do I win?" Nick heard Charlie ask from somewhere above him. After taking a few moments to collect himself, Nick lifted his head and gazed up at the younger boy stood above him, holding the ball with both of his hands.
"Boys, time to change! No being late for your next class!" Coach Singh called from the middle of the pitch.
Both boys looked over at her briefly, then back at each other. Charlie grinned, feeling pretty good about himself and trotted off in the direction of the changing rooms.
The typical lopsided smile spread over Nick's face as he propped himself onto his elbows, cheeks flushed. He got to his feet slowly, a warm, tingly feeling still lingering under his skin.

Mystery Character Drabble for Heartstopper + “Did you steal my jacket?”, please?
Tumblr media
Prompt: Did you steal my jacket?
Character: Charlie Spring
It was winter break and Charlie had come over in the morning so the two of you could spend the day together. Between band, theater, and clubs, each of you was far to busy at school to interact beyond classes and lunch. It was really the first year that you seemed unable to spend the large amount of time together as you were used to. You had hoped at least that this day would give you some time to catch up.
You’d just returned from the shops in time to beat the snow. The weather had been announcing snow for the past few days yet nothing had fallen from the sky until that afternoon. Slipping into the kitchen to make hot chocolate, you left Charlie alone to go through your DVD collection in order to pick the movie choice of the day, or at least the first of the day depending on how the two of you felt.
He called out from the living room that he was going to get blankets to begin the creation of a fort. Knowing that Charlie wouldn’t give up on that idea you directed him to where some of the extra blankets were located as well as extra sheets. As you entered the living room setting the hot chocolate on the table Charlie returned arms full of blankets, and wearing a jacket you’d never seen before.
“Is that Nick’s” you asked him.
Charlie blushed, “Yes. You sound like him about this, he asked ‘Did you steal my jacket’ when I first took it”
“Because that sounds like you stole his jacket”
“I’m his boyfriend, I maintain it’s a rite to take whatever jacket I want”
You nodded, “Well since you have a jacket and I don’t. I call dibs on having an extra blanket!”

To spend everyday with you ♡
Tumblr media
notes: a lazy sunday with your boyfriend, Nick, and you couldn’t ask for more.
genre/trope: fluff, golden retriever reference 🐶
pairings: Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) x reader
(a/n): i’m back with a very short imagine of Kit Connor who’ll be referred to as Nick as in the series Heartstopper because he is my absolute favorite character in the show ❤️ enjoy~
Tumblr media
You’re in the midst of playful giggles and teasings, rolling around on the bed with your boyfriend, Nick, when he abruptly man-handles you on top of him and stops to stare at your face.
“You’re so…” Nick mutters under his breath and pauses for a moment. Then his fingers travel up to your forehead to move your messy bangs out of your face.
He looks into your eyes for a moment longer.
“What?”
You respond with a chuckle, barely able to hold his gaze. You pretend to be indifferent to his intent stare though it’s pretty obvious that you’re deeply flustered; that every little thing he does churns your tummy with excitement and makes your heart feel whole.
And each time, you fall even harder for him — if that’s even possible.
“You’re such an idiot.”
A playful smirk forms on his lips when he finishes his sentence and you both burst out into a fit of hysteria. You roll your eyes jokingly at him.
“Oh really? I guess you’re into idiots then hm?”
You challenge.
“Not really. No.”
He retorts, a smirk still playing on his lips,
“But there’s one exception.”
He adds and the sides of his lips go up, forming a gentle smile. A gap of silence fills the room as his gaze begin to soften. He studies your face with his beautiful hazel brown eyes, whilst his free hand moves up from the sheets and laces itself into yours.
His gaze slowly shifts down to your lips and the smile on his face widens.
You feel your heart racing a little faster.
“I might want to kiss you right now.”
He whispers softly, his lips an inch away from yours as you tighten your grip on his hoodie.
A nervous chuckle escapes your lips before he slides his other hand behind your head and tenderly pulls you closer to his face.
“I’m going to kiss you.”
He repeats himself, his eyes gently looking up at you to see your reaction. You nod your head feebly and then slightly tilt your head to the side, locking eyes with him.
“Did I ever tell you you look like a golden retriever?”
You utter out of the blue.
He freezes for a moment and then raises a brow.
“That..” he titters, “That was so random.” He breaks into a full-on hearty laughter, throwing his head back in the process. “You’re such… you’re such an idiot.” He says in between laughs.
“I know I—”
You begin to cackle with laughter but your words are muffled by his lips softly pressing against yours.
Mm. The feeling of his lips; the feeling of Nick Nelson.
He inhales softly and pulls away.
“You’re an idiot but i love you.”
He pecks your lips gently again.
“Wrong. you love me because I’m an idiot.”
You tease, your chin resting against the fabric of his hoodie over his chest as you glance up at him innocently. He shakes his head with a broad smile spread across his lips and you feel the tips of his fingers gently stroking the scalp of your head behind your ear.
“I love you.”
He whispers, leaning in to kiss you on the lips again. Only, it’s longer this time and more passionate.
“Me too.. so so much.”
You have a million things to say in your chest — if only you weren’t so overwhelmed with love for this beautiful being before you — but that’s all you manage to sputter.
He throws you a smile again and your heart sighs.
Oh. If only.
You return his smile with one of your own and drape your arms around his huge physique.
If only I could spend everyday like this with you.

heyy can I please request a prompt?
so I've seen heartstopper on your fandom list and my heart stopped because I'm dying to read something about Elle and Tao. They are my favorite pairing and I wish I could find more content of them. Anyway if you have the time can you please write something w/ them on it? it could be a date or a joint leisure day, like going to the cinema or having a picnic brunch. and feel free to throw in tickles
have a nice dayy
Something short for you xx
Tao was, despite sometimes pretending otherwise, someone who struggled with insecurities, and Elle had seen the ways he displayed them throughout their friendship. From panicking and saying the wrong things, to isolating himself because he couldn’t stand his own emotions. Her favorite way was when he became nervous, fumbling over his words and blushing. Maybe it was cruel of her to enjoy this evidently vulnerable side of him, especially since her being able to catch the signs wasn’t always done so with his consent, but could you blame her? While she had no problem telling him when he was acting like an asshole, she spent most of her time swooning over nearly everything he did. It was frankly a bit embarrassing.
He was nervous during their date that day, even though he had no reason to be. It wasn’t like their first attempt at dating, where everything was awkward and wrong, and so she enjoyed the obvious signs of timidness that he displayed, from fidgeting with his sleeves to laughing a bit too giddily when she cuddled close to him. The park was relatively empty, because it was technically still too cold and too unpredictable to be doing picnics, but they were young and they were in love, although they’d never mentioned the last part. Elle knew they both felt it. Knew their relationship had started developing in ways they were too scared to speak of yet.
“Do you think it’s gonna rain?” she asked, shuddering at the gust of wind that had suddenly swept past them. She enjoyed the excuse of being able to lean into him for warmth, though she’d already done so ten minutes ago and couldn’t really scoot any closer now.
“I hope not.” He squinted at the sky and took the opportunity to squeeze her tightly as if she wouldn’t notice. “It doesn’t look too ominous.”
Had it been nighttime and they’d been looking at the stars, Elle was sure the tension would be unbearable, but the gray clouds and birdsong kept them safe from territory they were not ready to breach, and so she simply leaned back to mimic him. She’d not very long ago realized that this was one of her insecurities. The serious conversations that could change everything. She knew Tao feared them, but neither of them seemed to have realized he wasn’t the only one until recently. She knew Tao knew it too and maybe that was why it was easy to keep pretending. Was it really that bad to allow herself to enjoy this, whatever it was, without making it complicated?
She buried her face in Tao’s neck out of frustration, seeking his comfort, and while she expected him to let out that shy laugh of his she didn’t expect him to giggle, and yet she knew exactly why he did instantly. Those were the perks of being best friends before being anything else.
“Sorry, am I tickling you?” she mumbled into the skin.
“Of course n-not.”
“Oh, good, then I’ll stay here then. It’s cozy.”
She made a big show of nuzzling his neck and he started twitching away probably without meaning to and Elle realized that maybe the serious conversations wouldn’t be so bad if it meant she could live like this for as long as she wanted to.
Naturally her feelings were translated into her arms circling around his waist so that she could squeeze his sides, because this was neither the time nor place for anything serious. Besides, she enjoyed the way he now fully leaned into the laughter, squirming in her hold and begging her to stop. They had time to be a little silly, she realized, gray clouds be damned.

Flowers
“I, uh…” Tao stammered, clutching the colorful bouquet. They were just going to the cinema, but he'd wanted to surprise Elle with something nice.
“Here!” He presented the bouquet, being rewarded with the prettiest smile in the world.
“Flowers? That's unexpected. Thank you, they're lovely. “
He shrugged. “I thought you might wanna paint them or…”
“Hm, I don't know… They’re beautiful, but not the most beautiful thing in front of me.”
She smiled and, before he had time to fully process what she'd said, leaned over and kissed him. And maybe the flowers got a little crushed, but who cared?

Star player ☆
Tumblr media
Nick Nelson x Charlie Spring :3 ⬇
The school had won another rugby match, all because of Nick. Charlie swore the team would be nothing without the other boy, he was the star player for a reason.
Charlie wasn't playing with the rest of the team. He had told Nick his ankle was swollen and he didn't think it'd be a good idea for him to play. Nick had than pointed out that it looked fine, to which Charlie had told him he could change that, making Nick agree that it did look a little painful.
Charlie was snapped out of his thoughts when Nick came running over to him, face red and out of breath. The blonde jumped on him, trapping him in a hug. Charlie returned it, laughing at the others antics.
Charlie giggled into Nick's shoulder, "I told you you could do it."
Nick laughed in response, "It would've been better if you were out there." He said, giving the boy a squeeze before releasing him.
Charlie hummed, pulling back to push the hair out of Nick's forehead.
"You did just fine without me, you are the star player." Charlie teased.
Nick ducked his face into Charlie's shoulder, groaning. The other boy just barely got a glance at the way his cheeks flaired up again.

so close (but I'm farsighted)
A continuation of Nick and Tao's scene in 1x08. It's kind of a mess, but it was fun to write them. I like to think that Nick won over Tao a little bit. 900 words. Fluff and angst.
“Look,” Tao leaned forward in his seat. “I’ve known Charlie since we were eleven, and he’s always had a tendency to believe that him just existing is annoying for other people.”
“Yeah,” Nick nodded, running back through his memories of Charlie, of the countless needless apologies. “I sort of got that impression.”
“He’s not going to force you to come out. Which is good,” Tao continued, earnest. “And he would literally never tell you this, but he probably wants to be something more than ‘secret guy you kiss sometimes on the down-low.’ And if you can’t give him more than that then…” Tao trailed off for a moment, before finishing. “I mean, that’s fine, but it’s always going to make him feel a little bit crap about himself.”
The entire time Tao had been talking, Nick felt his chest constricting. The last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt Charlie, but he knew Tao was probably right. He opened his mouth to say something, anything, so Tao would know that he’d understood, but all that came out was a single syllable. “Oh.”
Fortunately, Tao seemed to know what Nick meant anyway. “You should talk to him.”
“Yeah, so should you,” Nick responded. It was easier to turn the conversation back to Tao and Charlie, rather than to himself. He didn’t know how to begin to explain how he was feeling to Tao, or if Tao would even care.
“No,” Tao answered quickly, defensively, before adding, “I’m gonna stay pissed off with him for a bit longer.”
Nick smiled to himself. Tao was going to forgive Charlie, he knew it already. “You should try rugby,” he said, teasingly. “It’s good for releasing negative emotions.”
Tao raised his eyebrows, unamused, but didn’t say anything.
Nick raised his orange soda and took a sip. “You’re right,” he said, setting his drink back on the table. “That’s a terrible idea.”
“Hey!” Tao crossed his arms. “I could do rugby if I wanted to! If someone as brainless as Harry Greene can do it, it can’t possibly be that difficult.”
Nick laughed loudly, surprising even himself. “You’ve got a point there.”
Tao nodded and held out his apple juice bottle, pleased. “If there’s one thing we can agree on, it’s hating Harry.”
“That’s true,” Nick clicked his soda can against the bottle. “Well, that, and lo—” Nick cut himself off, “Caring for Charlie.”
Tao’s eyes widened slightly, and he seemed to soften. “I suppose so.”
“You know,” Nick swallowed, skin suddenly feeling prickly. “He is more than that.”
Tao blinked. “What?”
“Charlie,” Nick clarified, “is more to me than just some boy I kiss in secret.”
“Oh.”
“He’s…” Nick fumbled for the words to explain how he felt about Charlie. “He’s my favourite person. When I’m with him, I feel like I can be myself completely. I’m safe with him. And he makes me laugh all the time, and not a fake laugh like when I’m with the rugby boys, but a real laugh. He’s so kind and smart and he’s basically good at everything, and I…” Nick flushed, realizing just how much he was rambling. “I always want to be around him.”
For a moment, Tao just stared. And then, without warning, he burst out laughing.
Nick’s blush grew deeper. “What?”
Tao laughed for a moment longer, before finally composing himself enough to speak. “That was just super embarrassing.”
“I—” Nick pursed his lips, before looking down at the table and letting out a deep sigh. “I know.”
“It’s okay.” Tao reached across the table to put a hand on Nick’s shoulder. “It’s good, actually.”
Nick looked up slowly.
“Look,” Tao started. “I’m pissed at Charlie right now, but he’s still my best friend, and I know he deserves to have someone be properly smitten about him.”
Nick smiled tentatively. “I just wanted you to know that I’m not messing with him. I’m just…figuring things out.”
“I think I’m starting to get that now.” Tao dropped his hand. “I know I gave you a hard time before, but I was only being protective.”
“I know,” Nick’s smile grew. Tao was hard to read, but he got the feeling he’d just earned some kind of approval from the other boy. “I meant it when I said you’re a good friend.”
Tao nodded, and they fell into silence for a moment. Nick took a few bites of his lunch, unsure if he should say something else, or just wait for Tao to speak, or if the conversation was over.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for someone to see how amazing Charlie is,” Tao finally spoke. “I just didn’t expect it to be the star of the rugby team. I was so sure you were straight. I honestly feel a bit stupid about it now.”
“Life’s full of surprises,” Nick shrugged. “And I am very bisexual.”
“Bisexual, huh?” Tao nodded thoughtfully. “I guess that makes sense.”
Nick froze. He’d been fairly certain he was bisexual for a while now, but he’d never said it out loud before, not as a definitive statement, at least—unless you count that one night he practised saying it in front of the mirror. He hadn’t even realized he was saying it until he heard himself say it. It felt right, though. “Yeah, bisexual,” he finally said. “I’m bisexual. Wow. That’s the first time I’ve said that to another person.”
“Oh.” Tao looked hesitant. “I’m honoured?”
“I—” Nick was cut off by the bell, signalling the end of the lunch. “I’ll see you later.”
“Yeah,” Tao agreed with a half-smile. “Definitely.”
They each picked up their stuff and turned in opposite directions towards their respective classes. Nick walked across the damp grass feeling just a bit lighter. Not only had he won over Tao, but he was also one step closer to feeling ready to come out.
He just had to figure out how to tell Charlie everything he’d told Tao.

Week of 30 Jan 2023 Prompt: Clover
@heartstopperdrabbleblog
Nick and Charlie lay on a picnic blanket watching the clouds.
"Do you remember the first time we lay here?" asked Charlie.
"I asked how you knew," said Nick. "And you suggested I kiss you. To be sure."
"It was only a suggestion!"
"It was a good one," said Nick, leaning over for a kiss.
"Did I tell you that I found a four leaf clover that day?" said Charlie.
"No."
"I'd never found one before. Maybe my luck is backwards. Clovers don't bring me luck, luck brings me clovers."
"Oh?"
"And I was already lucky because I had you."

lola i would write anyone if you asked me to i swear😭😭 this idea>>> bisexuality is stored in pirates of the caribbean-
no because it was supposed to be just an average movie night - you're both sitting on his couch with tons of blankets and some snacks scattered about, expecting to watch the film in peace.
you and nick are just exchanging looks, constantly darting your eyes to the other person when keira knightly or orlando bloom do something that could be considered even the tiniest bit attractive. when they interact, you can hardly hear the dialogue over rambled commentary and complaints that its impossible for two people to be that fit.
of course, you dissolve into an argument as to who's the hotter of the pair, and argument which becomes extremely passionate (though the answer is obvious: it's both of them. it's both.)

Hi Locke! Can I request an one word drabble for Nick Nelson (Heartstopper) with the word Blanket? Please and thank you!
Tumblr media
You’d known Nick Nelson for years. He was your best friend, the person you went to for advice and who you knew would listen when you needed to talk if you were upset. He knew you the best and you felt that you knew him the best as well, which was why you knew something had been up with him lately even if he wasn’t saying anything about it to anyone.
The fact that he hadn’t come to you about it worried you because he’d always told you everything as long as you’d known him. Still, you knew better than to pry into his life because whatever was going on with him was something he wanted to deal with on his own it seemed to you. And even if that weren’t the case then you knew one day he’d come to you and let you know what was going on.
Nick had a tendency to under-think rather than overthink. He’d dive head first into something sometimes without thinking of the consequences. You’d been invited to stay the night at his house over the weekend like the two of you had done time and time again, only now Nick said he had something important he needed to discuss with you. Without elaborating he’d left you questioning everything and becoming nervous over what you might uncover.
The two of you were watching movies in his room when he’d told you what was going on, when he told you about Charlie. There was a slight shock at first, this being the last thing that you’d thought Nick was going to tell you. Then comes laughter, bursting forth before you can even stop it.
“You didn’t think maybe you should have grabbed an umbrella? Or even put your hood on?”
He throws a blanket at you and it hits you in the face, “I panicked, I didn’t want him to think I didn’t like him or that I was going to ignore him!”
“Oh no, I don’t think he thinks that now. Maybe just that his boyfriend is not to be held accountable for umbrellas”

Emoji Drabble Prompts
A promise - 525 words
"Oh, come on, Char."
"Absolutely not."
"Just one time."
"No, go away."
"This is my bed."
"Shut up."
"Please?"
"No- Stop looking at me like that!"
"Pretty please? I promise I won't go near them for the rest of... today."
They were at a stalemate. Well, something like that. Sitting face-to-face between a tangle of sheets with Charlie holding Nick's hands at arm's length. They both knew Nick was strong enough to break free or simply push back, but he was being nice. He was always nice.
"It's embarrassing," Charlie huffed.
"No, it's cute."
A hot flash came over Charlie and he knew his ears must be glowing. If he would only stop using that stupid puppy face to his advantage.
"Pleeaase?"
"..."
"Charliee."
He was using that stupid sing-song voice that always left Charlie with a hint of anticipatory giddiness.
"You promise to leave them alone after that?"
"...Well-"
"Nicholas, I swear to-"
"Alright, alright. I promise."
Their eyes locked for about five seconds, which felt a lot longer to both of them, with Charlie glaring suspiciously and Nick barely able to contain the growing smirk.
"I promise on all the jumpers currently in my wardrobe."
There was another beat as Charlie considered the offer. In that case, he almost wanted Nick to break his promise.
"Fine," he huffed finally, but still gripping Nick's hands tightly. "But if you don't, not only do I get all of your jumpers, but I will destroy your neck for... at least an hour."
Nick's eyes widened and he resisted the urge to scrunch his shoulders up at the mere thought of the possible revenge. But he nodded, his tongue running over his bottom lip briefly.
"I promise."
With one last steely look, Charlie slowly loosened his grip, lowering their hands before finally releasing Nick's. He did not even have time to let out a surprised yelp, so fast were Nick's hands glued to his knees.
It only took a couple of precise clawed pinches to the muscle just above the kneecap and there it was. Mixed with the frantic giggles and words of protest, a squeal. And there was no way to disguise it as anything else.
Charlie threw his arms over his face, which was not only to hide his burning face but also muffle any more potential squeals that were threatening to burst out.
Nick couldn't help but laugh along, his face beaming at this new discovery. He held on for a few more of Charlie's kicks, successfully eliciting one more of that adorable sound before finally keeping to his promise.
He reached up to flutter his fingers over the exposed strip of stomach Charlie had left so readily available, only to get him to bring his arms down and, to no surprise, it worked wonderfully.
Charlie was breathless, but even more so when he saw the look on Nick's face, his head tilted to the side as if admiring a piece of art.
"See, was it so bad?"
"Yes, it was."
"You're so dramatic."
"Oh, I'm dramatic?"
Nick should have expected that his neck wouldn't get away unscathed as it was rarely the case.
