I have a few more cyanide test kits left that are still good I might use them to check different things. sometimes letting water trickle over an area into a cup collects it, or smashing food in a cup with a little but of water stirs the cyanide in, or if it liquid its easier so you know if something has cyanide or not good to test kit stuff. I would never kms using cyanide but I know my father, brother and my ex would definitely do that. keep that in mind, I promise if I ever were to commit suicide it'd be a gentler more painless means like hanging. *I will never try to kill myself using poisons*

this post is fearmongering. the results of this study are concerning and should definitely be a matter of public discussion, but this is certainly not the conclusion the researchers came to.

the point of the study was to assess the risks of exposure to toxic metals- something one of the co-authors notes are “ubiquitous” fwiw- via menstrual products. Their research confirmed that these metals are indeed present in tampons, but no further conclusions are drawn. it is possible the metal entered into the cotton from the soil, which is a well-known phenomenon; cotton is so good at lifting heavy metals that it has actually been suggested as a part of the solution for revitalizing polluted ground.

the authors conclude with an acknowledgement that the study should be repeated- their sample size was 60 tampons- and a suggestion that further testing ought to be done to indicate whether or not these metals can even leech out of the tampon in the first place, let alone whether or not such leeching could occur at levels deleterious to human health.

there is, in fact, a body of research- too small, for sure, but much larger than this single study- indicating that long-term proper tampon use has no observable negative impact on health. i am grateful and thrilled that more research is being done and i hope that this study is the first of many on this line of questioning, but i am really frustrated at this post and the response it got.

obviously, if this study alters your approach to menstrual health, more power to you. consumers should be informed-risk-takers, and menstrual health is double-obviously a very personal choice. but it definitely wasn't the researchers concluding that you ought to “avoid using tampons at all cost," only this tumblr user did. the lead author of the paper, in fact, specifically says that she hopes people do NOT panic about the results.

(the notes of the post were disappointing. people affirming that they knew they were right to be suspicious of tampons all along, or even recommending alternatives that actually have very little to no research regarding the safety of long-term use, etc. it’s a different conversation, but categorical distrust of tampons is old-school misogyny. you certainly shouldn't wear them if you don’t want to, but there is nothing inherently scary or wrong about them, and people who prefer them are not being reckless or crass.)

Success Story: A small change can bring a Big Difference

Do you agree that the little things, if done consistently, add to the big things? The same applies to every field of life, whether it is personal or professional. The very recent example recites it very true. The whole story begins with an opportunity to supply and commission 8 numbers of Oil Quality Testing Equipment for a sector that is crucial regarding the nation's safety. We started our journey from Pune to a remote location in Odisha, Koraput. When we landed at the nearest airport, we knew it was more than a 5-hour journey by road, crossing many hills, valleys, forests, and ghats. During our travel, we encountered many wild animals and, surprisingly, snakes like pythons crossing the road. Probably, high wind and rain were making it more scary and adventurous. We arrived at our stay very late at night. After such a long day, we were excited to hit the bull’s eye the next day.

We couldn’t resist the enthusiasm and reached the plant before the time the next morning. We were very happy to see the grand welcome following intense security protocols. The industry can be classified as Defense & Space. A division regularly conducted workshops for the customers to better understand and utilize the products.

We showed our advanced Oil Testing Equipment, LPA3, but a few officers were not confident enough about the deliverables. The technology they used then was outdated and failed to meet the latest standard. We had to install, commission, and demonstrate 8 particle counters at different locations and in different machines. We did it within 10 working hours, which was an achievement in every sense. Along with the demonstration, we made them understand the minimum human intervention and the impossibility of tampering with our oil quality testing equipment results. As they were following traditional practices, this technological advancement was much needed in their plant, and it was about to bring a big difference. We did our best in the least time. The company officials were really happy & fulfilled and so were we. It was a great experience, and a perfect example of a small change can bring a big difference.
