#can’t help but recognize how kieran is a fantastic unspoken representation of autism#i see a lot of myself in him and the way that he is so isolated and lonely and yet cannot help but perform and find solace in his daily#routines is so heartbreaking in its own way to me. like no matter what you do or where you are you have no choice but to be yourself and fun#nction the only way you know how and it will never not be vastly different from everyone else. and when you’re surrounded by people who DONT#like you and will not accommodate and are not at all willing or curious in understanding WHY you are the way you are you’re left to just ….#live in your own head forever. i’m certain kieran thinks many wonderous things and sees the world in a beautiful light and i know this becau#se i am autistic myself and because of that i see the world in colours that neurotypical people will never comprehend but we’re never allowe#d to see the world through kieran’s eyes. we are never allowed to see where his heart rests or the poetry he waxes or what he believes or wh#at his triggers are or what’s a stim and what’s just habit or anything. anything. the breeze sounds different to him and he can hear birds f#or miles and the sun makes every hair on his arms tingle and that’s why he wears layers everywhere and every green he sees sings a beautiful#song to him and yet we’ll never know. because he is too different even for the van der linde gang. he is incomprehensible to them and he doe#s all of his 4/5 daily tasks over and over and over again and while he would always do them and will always do them because they are innate#to him no one will ever know just what they mean to him. no one will ever know that kieran duffy can distinguish the horses behind him by th#eir breathing cadences behind him as he scrubs the spare saddle with the sun high above his head and he can know when something is wrong bec#ause he can hear it. no one will ever know that he CAN read but the only thing he’s interested in is books about wildlife and horses and fis#h in particular and no one will ever know because he knows no one will ever understand or even care and if they do they’ll be sure to make#it a point to tell him how DIFFERENT he is. and realistically even if the vdl’s DID come around to liking him he STILL would NEVER be unders#tood. i know for certain he would always be described as odd and despite its new affectionate approach he would still be the odd one out wit#h his daily routines and his texture preferences and his inability to make eye contact and his erratic seemingly random triggers and his#anxiety that seems to have a mind of its own. no one would ever know how bright the tree leaves are in his eyes or how every horse smells di#fferent or why sometimes it’s more fun to reel his rod in over and over instead of actually catching a fish. he will always be …. different.#sorry. novel moment. he means a lot to me.#i’m not super happy with how he looks in these but i’m just trying to draw more :’) i always say that but i always mean it too#also if my novel makes no sense then just ignore it. it’s late and my head hurts. i tend to get tangential#rdr2#red dead redemption 2#kieran duffy#image#art#hero draws sometimes

just finished reading the secret history and WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?????? 'But you're not very happy where you are either'
just shoot me at this point, I fell victim to the morbid longing for the picturesque at all costs and now I'm in love with the book and hate the characters and I want more bc although I hated bunny at the beginning he didn't deserve to die, but I kept trying to justify their actions and like that's the whole deal, they're not justifiable.

hi whatever. p4 drama cd adachi supercut. no it's not translated no it doesnt include "You'll understand when you get older", but it's all in the video description anyway. I genuinely like how they depicted adachi here, maybe because of the fact they didnt visualize him at all and im left to think about it on my own and not get bombarded with the very interesting visuals p4 has had to offer throughout the years. but otherwise i really appreciate the characterization here
anyone who wants to see the rest of the drama CDs documented you can look here I suppose

kill me
(*wobbly tearstained voice* this is father & son richard plantagenet in henry vi part 3 1983 dir jane howell btw. which is. extremely good)
#HIM. DAD!!!?!?! YOU SEE#I thought the ian holm (1965) version of richard and york's relationship was devastating. I had no idea what was coming for me#henry vi part 3#shakespeare#richard iii#he just folds into the hug so completely and without trepidation even when he thinks he's being reprimanded. is the thing#'love forswore me in my mother's womb'#WHAT WAS YOUR DAD THEN RICHARD??? CHOPPED LIVER???????#*on my knees on the bare earth rending my garments and clawing at my bloodied face*#your brothers kind of suck I will grant you but they frankly seem to love you just as much or more than they love each other lol#I'm fine. the self-fulfilling prophecy and utter desolate isolation of abject self-loathing just got in my eyes again#I suppose a lifetime of your mum going 'shame of my womb' would do that to a motherfucker but STILL#honestly nothing beats moving through henry vi parts 2 and 3 before hitting richard iii. especially in this version#when you see the desperation verging on mania of york deciding to claim the throne reflected in his son later and it's like. ah. oh.#'not like the dam or the sire' are u sure about that margaret lmao#even the way richard will eventually do his asides are direct mirrors to how his father does it in this version#the matching limp after york gets wounded by clifford. the way they clearly share a sense of humour. *sounds of agony*#never have I witnessed a york I actually rooted for so deeply as bernard hill's even WITH that worrying intensity tho#among other high points of this version: a neverending cavalcade of some of the best noses you'll ever see in your life#also an unusual but SO fucking good take on richard. laurence olivier's version is certifiably Iconic of course (for better or worse)#but he is also like. transparently a disney villain haha I believe I coined the term 'murderscamp' to describe him#lots of fun to watch but it makes everyone else look like such absolute dumbasses for not seeing him for what he is#and lots of performances to my mind go way too far into the creep factor way too quickly#with ron cook's softspoken more believeably vulnerable richard from the outset it's easier to see how he flies under the radar#he's short and slight his voice doesn't rise that much even when he's in a rage and he's the softest with their father#you see how edward and george could still categorize him as their baby brother and not take him seriously -- not realize that some things#have uh. Shifted!! under the surface! over the years! in ways they probably should have been paying attention to!#to them he's still the kid warwick carried off stage on his shoulders.#frighteningly capable in battle but still more to be protected than protected from. until... god. augh. ow.

Neil Newbon really did an amazing job with Astarion, and I'm sure he deserved that best performance award, but I am a little sad how the hype around him tends to overshadow everyone else. The general standard of voice work in this game is SO GOOD, and I feel like the other VAs whose work feature heavily alongside Newbon's deserve to be talked about more too.

assigning six roles to the girls of east high, strictly on vocal ability, vocal tone, and what i like to call, vocal vibes:
catherine of aragon: kourtney greene
just listen to no way and tell me that you can't imagine dara singing it, you can't. hell, i can even picture her performing it on stage. she has both the power and sass needed to be aragon
anne boleyn: dani
don't lose your head is both bouncy and vocally challenging, something i feel like kylie could be good at. she could probably EASILY pull off the runs at the end. it's also funny to me because she put on a british accent as tiara and there's the "don't be bitter" part. i also think that kylie could portray the comedic, banter-y vibe
jane seymour: ashlyn caswell
julia's voice is very powerful and strong, but also light, which is how i would describe jane's. the ad-libs in the final chorus of heart of stone would probably come so easy to her, i can just feel it
anna of cleves: gina porter
get down is made for someone with a deeper singing voice, which sofia has. i think she can portray the sass well. i also think she would sing it pretty close to the way genesis sang it on the original recording, strong and full but not very high-note-y (which is NOT a word but you get the point)
katherine howard: nini salazar-roberts
olivia's lower register would sound really nice on the verses of all you wanna do. and i feel like she would be able to nail the parts where howard breaks down as it's not much different from the vibe of her music (or at least what i've heard of it). and she could most likely hit the notes in the final chorus
catherine parr: emmy
liamani could easily pull off the vocals of i don't need your love, i know she could. like julia, she has a powerful but light voice, which works for parr's parts (hehe parrts)

do you have any headcanons 😁 (hypnotizing you) ooouyhhhh ouhhhhhhhh you will tell us about yiur headcanons about the bands dynamic🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥 (theres no hypnotize emoji)
i saw a post about another media i wasnt familiar with (i think it was in stars and time?) talking about the group's dynamic as like. it's found family but in a way that specifically rejects the traditional family roles- ie there doesn't have to be a "mom" and a "child" or any other named role for individual people, just their closeness is enough on its own to make them family. and i think that's how i feel about the rockafire a bit! like tbf i do think mitzi has a sibling-like relationship w beach bear and dook but that's kinda the only named relationship i feel even a bit strongly about lol. i feel like i can't think of any rae character without also thinking of how i like their dynamic with at least one other character, the way each character interacts with the others strengthens their own personality and i think thats super cool. i love those guys

for some reason people always get mad when you point out that shim changmin is a very talented, very good singer, lmao. they always have to fall over themselves to insist that he is in fact unskilled and untalented, that he just yells (lol?), when that is just… not the fact. singing is an art form, and i don’t know why that scares people? yes, you need a technical foundation, and the best singers have a very good technical foundation, but why does it scare you when singers simply use their voice as an instrument? with different facets. changmin’s voice clearly serves a purpose in his songs, and in tvxq songs, that isn’t just perfectly singing up and down a scale, he is a vocalist, first and foremost. his voice is his tool to create art, in that case a performance. a vocalist does not owe you pretty singing. they owe whatever serves the song/narrative/performance. if you want to hear technically correct, aesthetically pleasing singing, then go to a masterclass or sit in on a vocal lesson, or just go towards more classical, lyrical pieces that are supposed to be sung that way.

there are some really interesting differences I'm noticing in the performances of the british and american masc rooks in the weisshaupt mission that do different things to rook's characterization -- with the 'there's worse than darkspawn on the way' line as an example, british rook sounds genuinely disqueted, almost hushed, it's a really compelling little shading he does with his voice. you get uneasy along with him. meanwhile the american one sounds SO almost unsettlingly determined and focused rather than unsettled himself. he sounds like a bullet of a person ready to cut through anything in the way to get where he's needed and not even contemplating any other outcomes as possible. it's almost stark in its clarity of purpose, despite the lighter and younger-sounding voice.
they're both really good performances and they give slightly different shading you can use as material for what rook is like as a person, I really really love this

it is Seriously so illusion breaking sometimes when some characters have an obviously trained singing voice
#ari opinion hour#ava midnight burger. her vibrato should not be that good#i get being a good singer i get her mom started her with music lessons as a kid but i just dont think like.#if she was graduating from high school when she was nine i just dont see her putting a lot of hours into music in a way that would get her#a singers vibrato that refined!!! like theres no way!!!#her voice wouldnt have been developed enough when she was nine to even have HAD those kinds of lessons#and to be frank - and understand when i say this that this is one of two total criticizable areas of midnight burger 4 me at all whatsoever#i do not think that joe fisher knows much at all about music in practice. tbh.#i mean for that hes got some fantastic shouts in there! stella splendens is a really great one!#but like. stella splendens the episode.. theres one part in particular that i was like Oh these harmonies are WAYYYY too developed to be in#the 14th century. also the thing about a marching band appearing when thats clearly like a fife and drum thing whichis an entirely different#ensemble that No One calls a marching band (it is Fife And Drum thank you.) and same with the 'gregorian monks' which admittedly maybe the#characters dont know what thats supposed to sound like but they should at LEAST know that a marching band is not That TO BE HONEST#and then they also dont edit music out when theyre using it for flashbacks and its like oh augh putting soundtrack on top of soundtrack is n#not great#also ava when playing the piano would sound less practiced. that i get is the limitations of the genre you cant hve the charactwr perform as#they actually would but. yk.
