The sun is nearly set as you continue down a long stretch of empty highway. You glance up and notice the sign for a truck weigh station. It is closed. You do not give this much thought. You keep driving. The truck weigh stations are always closed. For your own safety, you keep driving. You do not turn your head towards the weigh station as you pass. Once it is behind you, you do not see the headlights of a semi truck appear in your passenger side mirror, barreling up the weigh station exits on ramp. You know better than to look. You up the cruise control a few ticks and keep your eyes as far up the road as you can manage. It should get tired of following you in a few miles.
