Château de Modave, Berlin

The house is nice, the grounds are nicer

This abandoned concrete swimming pool was swarming with damselflies and dragonflies, 10/10 best part of the château

The valley below the château, also very pretty. A lot of the paths are barred with gates, which stunts some of the exploration.

Bastoni #3 (Sainte-Baume), 2020, C-Print, 29,7 x 21 cm Bei @epcontemporary ist in der Ausstellung "übernatur" eine Serie zu sehen, Fotos von Stöcken, auf Wanderungen aufgelesen. Sie stammen aus Wäldern in der Umgebung von z.B. Sainte-Baume, Halifax, Flagstaff, Altaussee, Bern, Nördlingen. Mit der Rückkehr in den stärker von Zivilisation und Architektur geprägten Raum lasse ich sie zurück und halte dies in Fotos fest. Das erste Bild entstand nach einer stürmisch-nassen Wanderung im Massif Sainte-Baume, Südfrankreich. Part of the groupshow “supernature” @ep.contemporary is my series of photographs, sticks from hikes, which I had picked up along the way and used walking, in forests in the vicinity of e.g. Sainte-Baume, Halifax, Flagstaff, Altaussee, Bern, Nördlingen. With the return to the more civilised and architectural space, I leave them behind and record this in photographs. You are turning 3 today.

In January and February I took you to Lappland for the first time. @brilliantyears and I like to spend part of the winter there and you loved it of course, after all you are a Finnish Lapphund.

Later in February and early March we were in the South of France and drove up the Atlantic coast to Carcassonne and La Rochelle.

We went to Norway and Sweden in summer and spend the long days hiking and meeting friends we hadn’t seen in a long time.

We spent time at both the German North Sea and Baltic coast and of course you braced every day life with me in Berlin.

I couldn’t have done it without you.

Sorry for the delay nonnie, and it's tots fine, I'm just gonna change it from high-school to college, cause I don't really do high school AUs

Being college friends with Ness and Kaiser

- Both Ness and Kaiser are Theatre/Drama in Berlin, you go to the same college as them, also taking something like Performing Arts and ends up sharing a couple classes with them

- They were definetly something, with Kaiser's big personality taking up a lot of space in any classroom, you can't even really tell how you became friends with them

- Whenever all of you have some space between classes, you spend it together, handing around the campus or going out to eat

- Kaiser, being very popular, always gets invited to parties, he usually drags you and Ness along with him

- Ness usually offers to carry your stuff just as he does for Kaiser

- You help them rehearse lines sometimes, and even help them get ready when they have an actual show

- Kaiser ofter brings you two to hang out at a bar after class, or sometimes a restaurant, tho sometimes you hang out at their place

- Ness and Kaiser live together and you are pretty sure if it wasn't for Ness the place would be a mess

- Whenever you have a day without classes you do something together, like going hiking, or going biking, or even taking a day trip together *cough* Amsterdam for the drugs *cough*

as a man mostly spending time abroad and with international people, könig has some hard habits to shake from back home

obsessively opens the windows every hour to get some fresh air while mumbling something about lüften

cringes at the thought of giving or receiving a nickname by a lover, especially when it's in German

does stretches in the morning to help with his ever present back pains

his understanding of a fun time includes taking a hike, trying some alcohol or a combination of both.

will not buy frivolous gifts that break easily for a lover. he will however fix and optimise virtually everything in their life (and sometimes fixing little stuff around the house without being asked as that is care to him)

also does not get the concept of decorating for a specific season unless it's for Christmas or ironically

not too much into sweets but Sunday is coffee and cake day. And that doesn't mean a coffee shop.

is extremely cut and dry about a lover, friend or colleague needing menstrual items. it's just another point on the task list to him.

is also extremely pragmatic about clothes that sometimes borders on plain. according to him clothes should look fine, be well done and ideally hold forever.

either he hates Berlin as the worst german-speaking city or he loves it as the best one. no in between.

i'm going on uni exchange to france this august to december - does anyone have any suggestions for where i should go while there?

i'll be near paris so anywhere that's easy to get from there (and cheap too haha). i like history/museums and also natural attractions, i'm a trail runner so hikes, national park recommendations etc. would be awesome. i'd also love some more 'off the beaten path' recommendations but also want to cross off a lot of the big sights too (i've been to the colosseum, st peter's basilica, ponte vichio, galleria dell'accademia, berlin wall/east side gallery, buckingham palace, big ben, umm those are the only ones i can think of off the top of my head lol). i'm not interested in skiing/snowboarding and i'm coeliac so most foodie experiences are off the table unfortunately.

i really want to see more of france (have been to paris before and done some of the 'big sights' like the eiffel tower, arc de triomphe, galerie lafeyette, the louvre etc., basically most of the typical paris sights), a goal of mine is to see all the capitals (if that's the right word) of every french state (province?).

i speak german and am really keen to get back to germany so any recommendations there would be great too.

i've been to berlin, munich, frankfurt (only really the airport though lol), leipzig, hannover, dresden, rome, florence, venice, verona, vienna, salzburg (hardly saw as i just got out of hospital the day before we got there lmao i spent the whole time we were there in bed so would defo love to get back here, liked the tiny bit of it i saw), paris, reims, amsterdam, london, cambridge, budapest -- am pretty keen to get back to these places but also want to see new cities/countries too. i'm australian so unless i move to europe i'll have never have an opportunity like this again too, am pretty keen to see places like andorra, luxembourg, czechia etc. really just anywhere i can get to.
