ayo do any of youse guys know about keeping house spiders? or like, bug enclosures in general?
i think she's a barn funnel weaver. i actually let her out of the house near the woodpile some days ago and i'm SURE it's the same one that's come back! makes sense-- it's her home! even though she looks freaky to me, i'm so fascinated and so impressed with this little animal's tenacity. i would LOVE to let her stay in my bedroom but psychologically speaking that's just uh, not possible. but i still want her to thrive. i don't know anything about keeping one of these as a pet... would love some advice.
I found him after I washed the dishes.. does that mean I touched him many times without realizing.. I ALSO JUST GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCHES.. ITS A BROWN RECLUSE?
What I am taking for a Common House Spider (Parasteatoda tepidariorum) with her egg sack, out on the chicken coop pretending to be a common coop spider, I guess...
A Desid spider native to eastern Australia, but has since been introduced into New Zealand, Japan, urban California, Mexico, and Uruguay - a remarkably succesful spread compared to the handful of other Australian spiders that have managed to establish elsewhere.
Often found living around houses, which provide abundant nooks and crannies for them to build their messy funnel=shaped webs.

While the family was watching the fireworks, I was enamored by this House Centipede and House Spider chilling together! Surprisingly, they tolerated each other’s presence, and stayed in their spots waiting for prey! I pity whatever poor bug finds themselves in this ambush.
