Susan playing her recorder while her Grandfather contiplates his (future) life
a video from when me and my dear friend @cosmik-homo cosplayed Susan and the Doctor at a convention recently! we had a lot of headcanons come out of that day that i wanted to share!
(a true “in the middle of the adventure we are resting” cosplay moment lol, Ian and Barbara are probably here somewhere looking for them!!)
-my friend loves to play the recorder and, as we love to spaculate that Two took a lot of his traits from Susan, we headcanoned that Susan liked to play the recorder (probably learned it from her music class at the 1960s high school, if they played recorder there lol) and the Doctor, at first complaining, but enjoying the tunes, probably picking it up subconsciously until his next incarnation without his knowledge! lol
-the doctor probably likes getting food and drink with Susan, he just does! making sure she has enough. you see here the boba we both drank that day lol, the doctor takes his with tea while susan probably gets hers with a funky taste
-Susan adores human culture, even trying to act more human on times because she is free to do so! she is free to finally act like a child would, while we are not sure over if she could on galiffray at the time

Okay, so i was thinking about Lords' phones. Those lines must be ancient. They were probably like first phone lines to be made in village, between lord's families, way before Miranda took over. There was a plan to eventually extend them to every house, but that's when Miranda happened and she just never bothered :p
Also, I think those phones can work for casual conversations, it's just lors don't really have that much to say to each other.
Plus, Miranda probably can listen on they conversations :p
Yeah, that's kind of what I mean.
Alcina and Donna don't allow their staff to use the phones for that exact reason (Also because they really shouldn't have any need for them anyway), it isn't a secure line. They can dial to reach a specific Lord but that doesn't mean Miranda can't just randomly pick up on her end and listen in. Which is another reason the Lords don't typically call each other just to converse.
Elizabeta has probably been told to never answer the phone. Donna would rather just deal with whoever is on the other end by herself, even if she does have Angie speak for her. (Granted I feel like Miranda just kind of talks at Donna and then asks if she understands)
Miranda probably doesn't think the Villagers need phone lines. It's kind of another way of keeping them below the "higher ups", but also they've been functioning without them since Miranda was a child. The Village hasn't changed much since then. Why would they need them now? It's not important enough for her to bother with.
(Also, even though Alcina actively discourages the girls from using the phone, if she ever needs to call someone she probably needs one of them to dial for her. I mean, I assume they use rotary phones, and she's probably not getting her finger in there to dial herself.)

Merlin Loregasm Rewatch S1E3
Hi Everyone! Welcome to my rewatch of Merlin focusing on the lore. I am a giant nerd so pretty excited about this. THE MARK OF NIMUEH!
Tumblr media
Gaius saying that people must not see this and they would panic is likley NOT just because this looks magical as hell. See we know from later episodes that while Gaius has mastered herb lore for many ailments and injuries and anatomy as well (This is also important as it also hints that Christianity has not spread and thus it being forbidden to cut up human bodies to learn how they work is not a thing.) He and thus likly Camalot in general still base medicine on the Humors System.
This system attributed most illness to an imbalance of the four bodily fluids or humors. (Worth looking up if you wanna know more) NOW since in the system everyone has a diferant balance of humors it could explain individual illnesses A LOT BETTER than many plagues (Why would everyone suddenly have the same imbalance of the Humors) This would usually lead to the idea that an individual's chance to get or die from the plage was due to preestablished susceptibility to the plague (explained later) Or the heavens being angry. WHY PLAUGE HAPPENS usually was attributed to Miasma (explained later in post) or the heavens being angry. AND YOU DON'T WANT PEOPLE THINKING THE HEAVENS ARE ANGRY.
Gaius is VERY ahead of his time in medicine by thinking that illness could be spread though air, food, or water later on. It hints that despite the humors system being in use medical understanding is more advanced in Camalot then it was most of the medieval ages. This is very possibly due to the fact that despite killing sorcerers (Or perhaps Gaius being an exception because he learned pre purge.)
Old pagan knowledge of herbs had not been crushed. AND what's more no one was going around murdering regular herbalists ETC suspecting they were evil magic users, Mostly because they had REAL magic users to hunt. Still the spread by water air or food we see mentioned later is WAY Ahead of its time.
Tumblr media
Okay Gwen giving her father smoked pigeon as a seeminly every day meal perhaps continues my conept of Gwens father being a HIGHLY skilled blacksmith that serves the knights.
Meat was a rarity for the medieval commoner (We see this a lot in what Gaius and Merlin eat reguarly. Meat is a treat for them.) Pigeons were likely not eaten widely as anything but wild meat until the Norman period. Which means someone had to hunt and kill that bird. Which means this meat was bought or traded for. Which means Gwens family had the money for treats beyond the bare essentials (If we ignore history due to the show's anachronism we still have to compare this to Giaus and Merlin's usual food. (I know they talk about dresses later when he gets a really good job but we'll talk about that then. I'm also assuming this is everyday fare for them based on how they act.)
Tumblr media
Okay its time to talk about how Gaius and Merlin talk about disease spreading through water or contact or food is HUGELY Advanced for its time. See from the forth centery BCE to the early 1800s CE Disease was a result of the humors, The anger of the Heavens, or Miasma (bad air emitting from rotten organic matter or other things.) This means that despite humorism being the main theory there is SOME understanding in the Merlin world that disease can be spread many ways. I really don't think they have germ theory though so I think they are just more advanced.
Tumblr media
"He's got a grave Mental disease" AHHHH OKAY! So this means the Merlin world has a concept of Mental illness and that it's different from regular body illnesses. And this knowlage is common. Again this is HUGLY advanced for the time. So Humorism is the main theory! BUT They have concepts like infection, Mental illness, and an understanding disease can come from many places. All I can think is that this comes from having Magic in the world. And being able to actually study Anatomy. The people of the Merlin world understand the world better than most because they have more tools to study the world.
Tumblr media
Okay so I love how Merlin plays fast and loose with magical creatures. (Especially because I can too writing my Merlin fics) I think the Afanc might be based PARTLY on the folklore Afanc but also had a bit of the Jewish Gollum in it with the born of clay thing. ANYHOW The Afanc is a creature from Welsh Mythology Its a lake monster that most closely resembles a crocadile, beaver, dwarf. It prayed on swimmers mostly or people who fell in water. There is a lot more but it is interesting that some Legends say King Arthur killed it!
Tumblr media
Okay! So! see this candle!? This was a historical early method of keeping time. Each mark would be about an hour and as the candle burned down one would know the hours had passed! OPnce gunpower showed up they would sometimes put a bit in each hour as an alarm of sorts! I don't think this is a Gunpowder version!
Tumblr media
So yeah this came from greek philosophy and was a thing for most of european history. The elements Water, Fire, Earth, and Air. were viewed as the building blocks of the world. Originaly air was viewed as Aether and filled the world in the absence of the other three. But in the Merlin world it is definitely Air as it's is later called wind. (Aether later came to represent heaven or the spirit as a 5th element)
Tumblr media
These also related to Humorism discused before
Tumblr media
Saying The Afanc born of earth and water can be killed with fire and air is one of two times the four elements get brought up in relation to magic in the series. (The other refers to a healing charm.)
Most other sorcerer created creatures we see can just be killed with fire and are not specifically corresponded to any element. This leads to the idea that this is kinda a rare thing. WHAT I do find interesting is that we KNOW the four elements correspond to certain types of healing in the Merlin universe (like I said other mention refers to a healing charm) And the Afanc is spreading magical disease. THAT might be why the elements are mentioned only here when it comes to magic-created creatures.
Tumblr media
I find the wording here realy interesting because it talks about mirroring the spirit of life, not creating it. I'll have to contrast it with later talk about the spirit of life and death but this kinda implies even anciant sorcerers on their own can only MIRROR life not create it. Its not real life they make. Even Merlin's spell to create a butterfly at the end of the show means "to work, shape, bring into being or form" according to @catsconflictscopicsandchamomile My old English studying friend! (it is also used in OE translations of Genisis to mean make a life so it could mean Merlin is creating life and mirroring god, but if he could do that why not just bring Arthur back) SO it is likely this holds fast to the rule life cannot just be created!
Tumblr media
HOLD ON. Is he just referring to Arthur's birth? It could just be Arthur's birth and his efforts through the purge, or has Nimueh pulled evil magic on Camelot post purge before?

ooo! classpect knight of spaec please? <- (me)
stay safe, its a wild world out there!
☣anon!
oooo! A knight of space huh! An interesting classpect for sure.
Knight- Passive Serving class
Space - The aspect of litteral space [IE, Matter, Distance, Size....]. Can be represented by Frogs and Space [like stars. Milky way and all that]
There are two big things that are very important to knights as characters.
One is their masks. You can see this in every knight we interact with, from Dave's obvious mask that is his 'Cool guy' persona, to latula, pretending to think higher of herself than she truly does. This isn't only something that knights do [Rose has a mask of her own that people read as her only character traits, for example], they just do this the most regularly.
The second thing is that their sessions *Lack* the knights aspect, so them being able to serve with it is crucial. IE, the beta kids session always being on a timer due to the tumor.
Knights also seem to have a throughline of truama but its not necessary.
A knight as a space player though, god what a way to be a hugly important part of the session. Like, not only is their job of breeding the genesis frog super duper important to everything, but a lack of space in a session could create alot of predicaments.
Hope you enjoy this read!! sorry if its a bit scattered im writing this first thing in the morning.

Attack On Titan Demands an Eternal Mystery
A take on AOT's major problem for me.
One major doubt Attack on Titan faced was it not being able to maintain itself without a major mystery, especially considering that more than half of the story was surrounded by the question “what's beyond the walls?”. Before the basement reveal at chapter 86, the majority of the plot revolved around the doubts regarding the titans; and it worked. It's undeniable that Isayama knew how to keep the audience engaged as well as entertained about knowing more and more regarding the overall lore, resulting in epic reveals and moments through the story. The manga was set by this tone of unending questions until the basement reveal: which changed AOT’s world upside down, meaning that the whole narrative would also have to adapt itself to the new era. And with that came the question: what comes after the mystery?
After the RTS Arc came the Marley Arc, and with it a more mature writing in the way that presents a new perspective on the Marley-Eldia situation by putting the readers onto the warriors shoes. It also showed a character depth for Reiner only similar to Eren’s in terms of development and complexity. As this Arc unfolded, the doubts that Isayama would be able to keep up the quality of the manga without a major mystery was put aside, considering the great quality he was delivering. But, as the final chapters approached and few mysteries were left to be solved, problems with the writing and its inconsistency popped up. The reasons for that downfall could be endless, but one motive was predominant: there was no mystery anymore.
Note that maintaining suspense is crucial for a story, and knowing how and when to tell a specific information is just as important as creating it, but there's a difference between having a suspense narrative (AOT's case) and hiding information for more impactful reveals. AOT is a *suspense* manga heavily revolved into mysteries, and suspense stories need a conclusion aside from the reveals.
A quick recap on how AOT much depended on mystery for it to work:
Up until chapter 86 (basement reveal) = What are titans? What's outside? etc.
Marley Arc = where's the SC (Survey Corps)? Where's Eren? Where's all the public's favourites? What did the SC do in these 4 years of time skip?
First half of the Final Arc = what are Eren's intentions? What are Zeke's intentions? Why is Eren acting so different?
Second half of the Final Arc = What's Eren from as a titan? Is he for real when destroying the world?
Note: even during the biggest reveal dump of the story, the basement reveal, branches of questions were still opened such as "who's Ymir?", which lasted until chapter 122.
So, the ending came. It's natural for a conclusion to resolve everything, right? And the final chapter kinda does it, even with all its problems the major questions are solved; but even then some minor doubts were still there. How did Mikasa manage to get to Paradis without being seen after she left with Eren's head towards the literal flattened world? This could be cherry picking and Isayama's poetic licence is still a thing. But even putting that aside, after the final chapter the manga received an epilogue when the final volume was released, and with it more and more questions.
Tumblr media
And again, we finish the entire manga with more enigmatic panels of Paradis being destroyed and a huge cliffhanger, indicating that the titans' powers are still alive and waiting for a new host. Aside from the writing problems of what's the overall message being brought and the thematic conclusion Isayama wanted to make with the epilogue, the suspense just never seems to end. And, as it is presented, I consider this to be a problem that hugly damages the ending, plus other elements that require more depth into them.

Young Royals Season 2 - Ep. 3 & 4.
Ep. 3
August realising that he made "victims" and commited a crime… I mean: Hearth to August.
Yes, Malin, you are not welcome anymore.
Wearing that fucking purple hoodie and asking why he doesn't fall in love with Marcus. Simon my dear, even your fishes know.
Erik's watch. Santa-shrink. Wille saying that it might have been better not to know how love feels like. 😭
Wille's hint of a smile.😭😭
WHAT? KING AUGUST? The fuck is wrong with you people?
NO. WAY. WILLE! Everything is turning to shit! I can't watch more!🤯🫥
Henry I LOVE YOU!
(I still love Felice too. She is smart, they will work this out, I'm sure.)
-
Ep 4.
So they won't care about Wille's private life ever? Like whatever happens in that room has to be public knowledge? 😡
Me not liking Marcus.
Bring me back to the awkward glances and the barely hidden smiles. I can't with the hurt. 😭
Friendship. ❤️ We don't talk enough about friendship. Guy/girl friendship.
Not Jan-Olof asking if August is straight. Jan-Olof will have a painful death.
Marie-Antoinette got beheaded, the vibes for that ball are so wrong… 😬
I sense disaster.
I will not feel empathy for August. I will not.
Those fishes are team Wilmon. Don't even try Marcus.
I know you are dying inside Simon, so I'm gonna stay calm, but you are hurting yourself and I can't watch you get hurt! Everything is wrong 😭
Is Simon breathing at all? I feel claustrophobic just looking at him
Holy shit!!! BREATHING AGAIN?!🥹
KISSING AGAIN!!❤️‍🔥
SINGING AGAIN 😭😭😭
Hugly crying right now. I was so wrong, the beheading of royalty was actually a good omen! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!
I'm so hopeful I'm gonna burst if anything goes wrong, and EVERYTHING could go wrong!!!
Please, oh Lisa Ambjörn, have pity ! (even though I trust you!!)

@conjurerandking || Continued from here
Sometime during the night, Loki had drifted asleep. Against his original thought of staying up all night. The fire had burnt out just as the sun began to rose, he knew it would be time to go soon. Her voice coaxed him awake, and he stretched on his back, yawning hugly before closing his eyes again and laid there for a moment. “Mmm.. you’re right.” He muttered.
Loki eventually opened his eyes again, sitting up to see her next to him, and he smiled warmly at her. Oh to wake up to her in a sunlit room, white linens that just felt like clouds upon their skin. What did she look like under all of that heavy cotton and leather? He bent his leg before thinking too long about it, and moved to stand, offering a hand down to her. “Come, we should go, now. And hopefully the crew made it through the night…” He said softly, helping her to her feet. “My magic will hide us, so long as you stay by my side. They still have sight of the other illusions I created, right now that is using all of the energy I can muster. They are a far ways from us.”
Loki began to climb over the rocks, getting them out from behind the waterfall, first and back onto the trails leading through the jungle.
Elizabeth trailed behind Loki, following his footsteps like a lost puppy, her mind clearly in far-off places. One minute she was thinking about her past and the other minute praying they would be fast enough. But what seemed to trouble her even more was the fact that the arrow had pointed towards the man before her, now carefully taking calculated steps through the jungle with such elegance. Was she starting to develop feelings for him, or did she, just like he suggested, needed to see it as a fleeting thing. Her fingers traced the veins of the wooden exterior of Jack’s compass, contemplating if she misread its directions and perhaps, if she took another look, it would lead her towards the tribe’s prisoners. That got her wondering, did she actually need to rely on the compass? The God of Mischief seemed to know perfectly well which path to follow.
“You seem pretty confident about where we should go.” She finally stated in a hushed voice. Though, after last night she was certain more surprises would follow.  She released a deep breath then sucked in the humid air.
The heat today was tempered by a cool breeze, an unworldly rain most likely approaching. The rest of their walk she was alert. Focused eyes observed her surrounding, like a deer looking out for predators. She almost didn’t noticed how the tall man had halted his steps so abruptly. She followed his gaze. There they were. The pirates captured in a cage and not too far away a huge campfire was blazing brightly, lighting up the nearby branches of trees, painting them in shades of orange and yellows. Horror crossed her features when she realized what the cage was made of. Skulls and bones, human bones. Instinctively she held on to the back of Loki’s shirt, either to maintain her cool or her balance. How many of them were gone? Who was sitting on that throne? Jack, Jack was sitting on the throne. Why was he sitting there? His face painted in a peculiar way, but that wasn’t what managed to capture her attention. The necklace with six different colored stones did. They were mesmerizing.
She took a few deep breaths, trying to understand the situation. “I think, they worship him?” she whispered in disbelieve. Nobody, besides Loki, the remaining crew, Jack and herself were present. Was this a trap or should they consider it cheer luck? However, nobody made an attempt to run away, not even Jack, the master of escaping unfortunate situations. Her gaze shifted towards Loki. “Please, do tell me, you have been planning a miraculous rescue plan.” Ow, they were treading on dangerous ground. They barely survived last time, if they didn’t move with caution, this entire situation could change for the worst.
Elizabeth turned around when she heard leaves rustle. She caught her breath and pressed her back against his when she took a step backwards. The same people from last night stared at them so intently. “I do recall, you telling me, nobody could see us... correct?” She whispered barely audible. “We’re not going to be overly fond of what follows” She said while unsheathing her sword. “I suggest you focus on setting free the crew while I keep them at bay.”
She prepared herself for battle, but unlike their first encounter, this time they showed no aggression. They simply walked closer and closer until there was no distance left between them. They started to communicate in a language she couldn’t understand, exchanging looks and after that they started to touch their hair, their skin, inspect their clothes, the weapons they were holding, like they needed some kind of confirmation that they were really there. They showed special interest in the half god. It was almost like they could sense that he was different from the rest of them. “Loki?” Elizabeth whispered hesitantly, silent enough so the others couldn’t hear her pronounce his actual name. She tried to meet his eyes, hoping to read some kind of approval to start a fight.
