The Huntik Artbook on eBay

[FR] Une fiche pour un exemplaire de l'Artbook de la Saison 1 de "Huntik Secrets & Seekers" est apparue récemment sur eBay ! C'est un item plutôt rare qu'on ne trouve qu'au quartier général du studio italien Rainbow.

[EN] A copy of the Arbook of "Huntik Secrets & Seekers" Season 1 recently appeared on eBay! It's a rather rare item that can only be found at the headquarters of the Italian studio Rainbow.

The final episode of Huntik Season 1 is on the official channel! Check out The Mission now! Dante has lost to The Professor’s tricks. It’s up to Lok to reclaim his Father’s Holotome and Titans, to lead the team in a final battle with The Organization. But Sophie is left all alone to hold off The Professor and all three Legendary Titans until the others can arrive.

Do you have any idea why Huntik failed to gain an audience which led to it's cancellation? Is it worth of checking, or did it end on a cliffhanger which will never get resolved?

I haven't watched Huntik YET, but I heard it got a rushed season 2 since right after season 1 the numbers were clear about its success. Not sure how much of a cliffhanger the ending is, but technically the story got wrapped...?

From what I'm reading on its production, the reason for its failure was its costs compared to success and merchandising, it just wasn't as marketable as Winx and there was a lot of mismanagement in general in some stuff, like the comic artists didn't get paid on their last issues. Oof.

Huntik had a much bigger budget and better animation quality than Winx Club since it was Iginio's passion project according to some interviews, he even demanded a story bible to be written! Something we don't know if it properly exists for Winx since there's multiple plot holes through the S1-3 he wrote and italian books contradict each other constantly. Huntik was his first venture as a serious project for teens, an italian shonen dare I say.

The series was moderately popular in Italy, had rides in Rainbow Magicland and toys and all, was generally regarded as high quality online, even more than Winx, had a good reception... it's just much harder to make a cartoon for boys when you have anime as the competition IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY and sell it to 40 other countries when you don't have the same level of popularity of Winx Club (which had the blessing of being the first western animated magical girl cartoon with a serialized plot). Huntik was much more appreciated by older kids who weren't gonna buy most toys...

Also giving it to NickToons killed it in America for sure. Stop giving anything to Nickelodeon

Zhalia and Gareon: *both look up from an intense glaring contest*

Zhalia: I...did not know you were home.

Dante: *looks to Gareon* She wins, bud. I think she'd make a fantastic and beautiful lizard too. I'd totally do a mating dance for DAYS to have a chance to tap that.
