It’s really funny how much Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a space opera. It just is about intergalactic political drama. Probably the coldest take this platform has ever heard about the series. This children’s early 2000s anime is actually about how everyone in the room wants to stab the Julius Caesar of the season ✨✨✨

That’s what the whole Kazarina and Gill thing was. It went crazzzyyy watching those two throw subordinates at each other the whole season. Then Gill, the guy who was seething the whole time, finally just stabs her when they’re alone in the heat of battle. INSANE. Then he dies because Barodius values her MORE!

The whole Nurzak situation was fun in its own right. The whole ‘the old regime was better’ shtick made Gundalia feel more real.

Ren’s entire deal, bro GUNDALIA’S entire deal. Ren being kept in captivity and raised as a soldier. Gundalians being raised to not trust others and be ruthless. Both Neathia and Gundalia are warrior cultures too.

Fiaba’s fiancé DIED in war and Aronaut faked amnesia for her sake so they wouldn’t talk about him anymore. Fiaba not bringing up Jin for the same reason but because of that…what kind of children’s TV show..

THE VEXOS WERE WILD. Lync switching sides three different times. Spectra and Gus doing the same. Hydron going ballistic and targeting the other Vexos just to feel and appear useful. Blaming each other for their losses. Whatever the heck Mylene and Shadow Prove were running around doing.

hydron underwent pretty heavy gene editing, so now [they] barely resemble his progenitor. the only thing that hints of his royalty is his face shape.

hydron oversaw the colonization of new vestroia. zenoheld didn't seem to care all that much for [their] spawn and his gallivants across the universe, but [they] suddenly became much more interested after hydron revealed that this universe had a whole race of sentient beings already inhabiting it.

hydron is essentially the monarchy's PR team. zenoheld is notoriously reclusive so any appearances of the royal family would just be [them] and the Vexos, but he is already quite charming and personable, so general opinions of the average vestal is quite high.

[they] started the human illusion trend! seems to be on a whim, since he doesn't seem to care to get any proper human traits (too many eyes, no hands, no ears, no teeth, no feet, typical v1 stuff) but later on he decides to go undercover onto earth to destroy the brawlers and improves his disguise. i was tryna go for like...a haunted, thousand-yard stare. he's also missing a nose in both forms lol

[Zz3nO|-|3|_D] does not care for the conquest of New Vestroia. [they] left all work in development and upkeep of the settlements to [|-|yc|r0n]. [they] are strangely obsessed with human culture, asking some of our developers to create a program to translate our vestal form to resemble humans through illusion technology. compared to our current companions, i would say that the programmers did a poor job, not that [they] care. our translation technology was also started by [|-|yc|r0n], but [they] quickly lost interest in the program after the discovery of new vestroia. i was able to improve on the program, although there is still much work to be done.

you ever think about that time when lync talked about not understanding selflessness but wanting to understand and how alice's home might be where he belonged. how the idea of lync finding happiness enraged hydron to the point of projecting his insecurities ("no one wants you! no matter what you do, no one will care. you don't belong anywhere!") onto lync because he resented the possibility of anyone from his group being able to better their situation by escaping and leaving him to suffer with his father.

Hydron is such a tragic character. I swear the show didn't do him justice. Him getting abused by his father was literally mentioned in an episode description. Plus there was an actual robot sent to torture the poor boy and he is only 16! Bakugan why? Why kill him off? Then again I asked the question of why kill off Volt and Lync. Heck I'm even mad that they killed Shadow and Mylene.
