(Little Memole Episode 15: The Doll That Yawned)

The meanest sub-plot in this episode was Memole's grandfather (the chief) and Barbara (I still don't know if she's her maid or nanny) deciding to trick Memole into believing she wets the bed when sleepig in unfamiliar places, going as far as to fake-test it by having Memole sleep in her grandfather's bed and pouring warm water in the bed while she's sleeping... they even try to convince her Marielle will hate her if she wets the bed!!

But, Memole is not easily daunted and asks her travelling friend (a very Snufkin-like character) for advice, using the old a friend of a friend (or in this case, the little brother of a friend... poor Pea) has this problem excuse... "But if it's Pea, it's impossible." "What is it?! Please tell me!" "It takes a lot of will-power... the way to definitely not wet the bed at night... is not to sleep all night!"

He meant it as a joke, but Memole took off and slept all day so she can stay up all night with Marielle. ;3; Her family was so distressed, "What irresponsible advice to give a child!" but they let her go as long as she promises to be on her best behaviour... and when they sent the boys with a doll decoy to help keep Memole's existence secret, her grandfather sent with it an apology, coming clean about the faked bedwetting incident.

"Memole, we faked the incident of you wetting your bed." The subs missed, "Rest assured and sleep." جدها كتب اعتذار, كانت تحارب النوم حتى قرأتها. "ميمول, نحن زيفنا حادثة تبليل للفراش, نامي باطمئنان."

SUCH a cute and sweet episode, I loved the idea of Marielle buying sewing little clothes, blankets, and pillows for Memole, and buying little doll furniture and tea sets for her too.

It was sweet seeing the gardener be kind to Marielle (even if he wound up spying on her because he thought she was in danger or someone was sneaking in...) and it was even sweeter to see the maid correcting him when he acted like 14 years old is too old to be a child... it was just really sweet.

I love how Ran is described by Hanma, it's canon that Ran hates the guy and I think it's at least partially reciprocated. Poor Rinnie, never getting the respect he deserves in any of your fics, funny as hell.

We saw Koko 🫶🏻 my smart, bitchy but not mean baby i love him sooooooo much. Kisaki on the other hand.. God I hate that guy and I never understood why Hanma doesn't wring his neck with one hand.

I love stories in which despite the romance, there is also a parallel story and I'm super intrigued by this one ! Who is the traitor ? Why is he doing this ? What is the purpose of the Haitanis ? Why does Hanma want to find Mikey so badly ? I can't wait to see what you have in store for us, I know we won't be disappointed !

in a world where hanma & ran are in the same gang, i headcanon hanma wouldn't hate ran because he would enjoy messing with him. but as enemies? they are just similar enough while being wildly different in key ways. ran would never trust hanma, and hanma would reject everything ran represents.
