Mike looks Will up and down after he talks about being different. This moment has to indicate that Mike knew Will was talking about himself. Why would he do that otherwise?

Notice how he tightens his lips at the end as well. Mike always makes that face when he’s conflicted. What is there to be conflicted about? Is he debating between comforting Will or staying silent?

the thing is I don't want Donna's ending to be "fixed", sure its sad, its fucking heartbreaking, but thats what makes it good, if it gets fixed all the weight gets taken out of it. sure in the moment it'll be good, but if its fixed will you really be able to go back and watch journey's end in the same way, knowing it'll all get reversed eventually

#i say this as someone who has a strong belief in season 6b #because it means jamie and zoe get their memories back #but theres a difference is it doesn't happen in the show (beyond 2's later appearances not remotely fitting with his original run)#when i watch the war games #in that moment 6b isn't real #the memory wipe is permanant #i also have no problem with the 50th saving gallifrey #because war and 10 don't get to remember #series 1 to 4 still work #the doctors guilt still works #because gallifrey is still gone for them #but the tragedy in donna's exit is that she will never get to remember #if her memory comes back it just doesn't work #she forgets her travels for the next ten years #is substantively different to those memories being completely gone #doctor who #dw spoiler #donna noble

I have a gripe with people saying “What do you mean David overshadowed Ncuti, his performance was so good and he stole the show!”

I do agree with the people talking about how good Ncuti’s performance was, but I think they’re missing the point. It’s about the principle of Ncuti getting his introduction to himself. It’s not about Ncuti’s performance but the fact RTD chose to write Ncuti having to share his screentime with his predecessor during regeneration when no other Doctor has had to do that for their introduction.

Choosing to relisten to Ghosts on a Train was the correct choice considering the absurd amount of recent events I didn’t remember at all. Like just at all. Listening to the episode where Coleman tries to assassinate Walker and I’m just on the edge of my seat as if I’ve never heard it before. I may as well not have I literally don’t remember how this ends.

#and also just. the way everyone reacts to it oh my God #having Thoughts about Pip’s reaction to it #Thoughts about how Andrel deals with Everything That She’s Seen And Heard Today #and how McClaremont keeps trying to snap Pip out of it by asking him to look after Andrel!!#especially because this comes right after the 50th episode talkback where Hannah says that she feels like Andrel is aware that Pippin #‘has her best interests at heart’#I will never stop thinking about them ever #and Drix. fuck. him defending Coleman against the sages of Belisle and saying that he believes in him #and that it won’t go as badly as everyone thinks. Coleman’s methods aren’t good but Drix respects his reasons #and wants to leave him be if good may come of it.#and then this happens just days later.#Drix realizing he’s backed the wrong horse just a moment too late #having to watch a man get shot and possibly die in order to have that realization #this whole situation is fucked and also the acting is so fuckin good #ghosts on a train #ghost posts from their box #ttrpg #actual play podcast

one doctor who thing I’ve always thought would be fun is meeting a future doctor in a ‘current series’ - like a preemptive multi doctor special

but this ep reminded me why that’s not a good idea :(

#don’t get me wrong #14 and 15s reactions were great when taken as a character growth moment #for the doctor I mean #but it really undercuts the joy of meeting a new doctor on their own terms #not even the basics of the post regen high or the new tardis or outfit #but just getting to watch them tick you know?#ncuti is already a darling and tennant’s 14 grew on me as his own thing #I had fun!!! lots to like!!!!#but yeah #wish ncuti didn’t have to share his first ep - especially with David Tennant of all people 😅#doctor who #spoilers #ps this is also why I feel like Jo Martin got done so dirty #she oozed charisma and intrigue - but her role in the show was undercut by … well everything else #*sigh*#this is also why capaldis little cameo in the 50th was great!!!!#I saw it in the cinema and we lost our minds!!!!!!#just a little taste of what’s to come - then back in the action #no toes stepped on

uh oh gang I miss musicals

#aarrggh it's not like I haven't tried/liked any since lockdown started. I enjoyed watt lihn and rtc.#and it's only sort of that I don't know what's up in the current/recent theater scene #I could simply look up what's on and what cast albums have come out lately and pick something #and there have been plenty of cast changes and new productions for stuff I already like!#honestly I think the thing stopping me from getting back into musicals is that I've had a few computer changes since 2020 #and lost most of my bootleg collection so I don't really have ways to get new recordings of things I want #and I gather that most of that has moved onto private discord servers in the last two years anyway #and I just neither have the social skills to easily get into those circles nor the money to buy videos direct from masters #like. my friend and I were foiled THRICE from seeing the 50th anniversary jcs tour and they've said several times #that the best present I could get for them would be a video of that production so we could finally watch it together #but I don't even know where to go anymore to check if a video of that tour exists and I doubt I have anything worth trading for it anyway #most nothing problem in the world ik ik. but like. ;-; wanny see me shows...#sorry for being a bit maudlin about musical theater nonsense I'm not expecting any 'there theres'#I just can't really complain about this stuff irl without going through four layers of context first #marina marvels at life

#kr revice lb #kr lb #umbrella.thoughts #umbrella.posts #the people that get it get it #i'm a mess rn but i really liked this one #i really liked all the relationships and every character was entertaining in their own way #i think there was a little bit of fumbling in some places but it didn't ruin the show for me and it's not something i haven't seen in #kr before...#i'm really glad they didn't focus too much on past riders which i've seen as a big complaint as the 50th anniversary of kr #but let's be real zi-o was just a few years ago and bc of the break from kr on tv before kuuga it really doesn't feel grand #like it's a big number but kr was not an active franchise on tv 100% of that time...#either way i prefer just little references and things bc i think people should be able to enjoy a series w/o knowing other riders #(zi-o is more enjoyable the more riders you know)#i also think riders should be able to stand apart from each other #there were some beautiful suits and fight scenes that were really fun to watch #sure it was goofy and fun but i think that's a good thing bc i love goofiness and fun :)

genuinely torn between 1) watching the doctor who 60th anniversary specials live despite no longer being as into doctor who as i used to be and also being like two series behind and 2) holding off until i catch up at my own pace and accept that i won't watch it live like i did for the 50th anniversary 😭

#objectively the second option isn't that big of a deal it's just that 😭 watching the 50th special live was SO important to me 10 yrs ago.#i planned it WEEKS in advance & the fact i'm considering not even watching the 60th specials just shows how much i've fallen out of dw :(#soapbox
