finally got around to finishing the finale of the ghost trick remaster. i've played and watched this ending more times than i can count but it's still so SO good.

jowd being the one to say this is so good. bc out of all the people, he might be the one that understands yomiel the most. yomiel's entire goddamn existence and everything he's believed and been forced to endure has finally been righted. jowd's own predicament and resulting fate change from this whole ordeal is also incredibly drastic, but that's what makes him the one who most closely relates to yomiel. yomiel's twisted, revenge-fueled desire to make jowd feel the same pain he felt turns into empathy and understanding.

do you ever think about how, for the 4 of them (sissel, yomiel, jowd, missile), they have 20 years of memories overlapping each other in a 10y period? if not more, from all the rewinding and trial error of this one night? when they "return" to the new present that is born from this final aversion of fate, do they just find themselves in a completely different place in life, with a whole entire set of memories? do they just. slide "back" into place in this new timeline and replace the placeholder version of them that existed in those 10y that were completely changed, all of a sudden now with all of that version's memories and experiences?

how disorienting and confusing and discombobulating would that be, to suddenly have two completely different versions of the same period of time in your head

it's not as bad for missile, since he's only two years old when the events of the game happen, and so "only" has 2y worth of memories that overlap, but for sissel and yomiel and jowd...

and the fact that only the four of them will remember. sissel and missile are fine, as animals, but for yomiel and jowd.. how often did the people around them think they were insane, talking about things that never happened and knowing things that they shouldn't know, breaking down over things that remind them of this overwritten timeline

When we go back, our fates will no longer be interconnected.

It will be like we never met...

hiweoaghlkjadslkfjkl and in that new timeline, yomiel's one and only friend, the only being he could have called a friend in those years of limbo from the previous timeline, now has nothing to do with him.

and so before that happens, he has to apologize for everything he made sissel go through. even though sissel chose to stay by his side, it's only human nature to feel guilty for something you can't help. he needs this solace.

and sissel gives it to him.

all these four can do is hope that the stars will align and the gods that started this whole mess will allow them to meet once again

these have to be some of the most genuine, heartfelt lines in the game, alongside the thanks that yomiel gives sissel.

not me getting sad about ray's reluctance to even talk about himself. oh boy.

his reluctance to reveal just how much he messed up and failed. how hard he tried and how much he's sacrificed just to help his friends. telling this almost complete outsider how much of a failure he was and expecting them to understand his selfish, selfish reasons

can you imagine? waiting for 10 years to pin all your hopes and sacrifices on this stranger that didn't stop to give you the time of day the first time. and if they don't help you this time, everything would have been for nothing. having to just stand back and watch as everything happens this second time around because you can't risk messing it up this time.

doing all of this knowing that, whether things work out or not this time, you're going to disappear at the end.

the wave of relief and satisfaction when reincarnation starts..

From just that single night as a human, I got a glimpse into their world.

the reveal of sissel's new fate w the next lines.. one of the most fulfilling, complete endings and feelings of closure i've ever gotten from a game.

It suits me just fine to curl up and watch...

...watch the strange and beautiful patterns of their lives as they unfold.

here for quite a while.

and the credits song kicking in.. the way it's timed perfectly with the final reveal and snaps to the main theme in time with the end of sissel's speech. it's SO satisfying.

and the fact that the credits song is a remix of the main theme that we've heard so much throughout the game as a way to end each chapter with a sense of mystery, but this final time, it's triumphant. it's the same tune but this time we've solved everything. everything is going to be okay.

Oh I just love rice. Rice is pretty cool! Goes with a lot of things!

btw i am documenting the healing process of my dog bite for writers/artists who want to know what a fresh/healing dog bite looks like

disclaimer: this was most likely a play nip gone (very) wrong, blue isn't aggressive he's just a dumbass- if the dog your character is bit by is aggressive/trying to hurt On Purpose, it'll probably be a lot worse. he is a big strong doggy though so it did hurted like HELL

we also went to the urgent care immediately for proper antibiotics and bandages so if your character doesn't have access to those the nurse said about 50% of dog bites get infected. also its best to keep them covered so even if your character doesn't have meds a makeshift bandage is better than nothing

day 1:

took this right after the bite (mostly because i wanted to make sure if my boss needed proof or something i'd have it) so. at this point stung like HELL to the point where i started crying and i don't cry from physical pain often (very easily from emotional pain but that's beside the point). hurt to walk on/put pressure on and ESPECIALLY to touch the area of the wound itself

day 2:

took this while changing bandage (was told to change it once a day). it looks. about the same. slightly more bruised. less pain than day 1 but only slightly

forgor to take pictures for day 3 and 4 but essentially the bruising just went Up and the pain went Down (i can put as much weight as i want on the leg by end of day 3, but no touching the wound without pain)

day 5:

...yeah it's bruised pretty bad BUT there's no infection (so you can make the wound pretty gory if you want even without infecting it). it looks worse in person too. none of those colors are the color skin should be. you can also see the outline of the bandages lmao. in terms of pain the only time it hurts is when i put any pressure on the wounded area. rest of leg is now completely unaffected

Spongebob (29) becomes the manager of Krusty Krab 2 and is happily still serving satisfied customers the way he always has done. He still finds time to hang out with his friends and unintentionally annoy Squidward while working on his driver's license, still.

Danny (22) continues to be the hero he is for both races, protecting humans from troubled ghosts, which he'll help them out as peacefully as he can. He may or may not have a position saved on the throne in the ghost zone.

Jimmy (19) refuses to serve the government with his inventions and only accepts deals from organizations who truly intend to preserve and improve the world with his help. Sometimes he does freelancing by providing assistance with his works to anyone who may reach out to him through his family and friend's connections.

5 Things You Can Find In My Writing

I was tagged by @emmalostinwonderland, and I forgor, but then I rembered. I have to think long and hard about this, and I had to get help with it, because fuck if I know what my trademarks and constants are.

Introspection. As @maered613 put it "character like to ponder beautifully", which means they're all doing way too much thinking. Their brains are noisy!! They understand themselves too much! The interiority be interiorising! They are having catharses all over the goddamn place. And yet I will not stop, because good lord I've read some actual published stuff with zero interiority and it is dogshit. I love writing about a character's internality. I love exploring what's going on inside. That's the most beautiful part of writing! You can get inside a character's head and pluck their brain out and it's like a beautiful neon screen of their wants and hopes and desires and idiosyncrasies and hypocrisies and convictions.

Big words. This one was @emmalostinwonderland's, who called them "five dollar words", lol. I can't help it, I like how they sound, I like the flow they give, and I think having to google definitions as you're reading builds vocabulary and character. It's how I learnt half of the big words I know, after all. Fight against the steadily growing tide of idiocy, use multi-syllabic words in your writing today!

Lore accuracy. This one comes from @gravity-loves-me. And I definitely agree now she's mentioned it: I like being thorough and accurate. I will use the in-universe terms and I will stick to them, because the secret with ridiculous names for things is to commit whole-heartedly. I'm also a stickler for timelines and locations and stuff so if I can steal a planet from the EU/Legends I will, I will figure out a timeline and stick to it. For real world research... ah, you all know how I am with that. I'll literally spend money on books to research one stinking fic. I'll do it. I'm insane like that.

Soft feelings. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but I'll take it. As usual I don't even know what I'm writing, but in general I think I like writing the characters who love each other (romantically or platonically) treating each other how I'd like to be treated. Softly, compassionately, decently. I like writing friends and family loving each other, I like writing people in relationships being steady and supportive. I'm just not a person who can really write toxic relationships. I should probably practice that, but it's not what draws me to ships or brotps or whatever in the first place.

Animal similes. I would never, ever have noticed this if it weren't for @ctrldao3, lmao, but she brought up the time I described someone as making a noise like a wounded badger (it was Nicky lol) and I was like "hell yeah I loved that one". There is literally no point to writing anything if there isn't some fun or powerful imagery going on, and animals are such a constant fount of that. It's evocative and it's amusing.

Ok ok NOBODY ASKED or even CARES but like I really really wanna talk abt why Dr Habit is a trans woman so like buckle the fuck up cuz its late and im tired

Started this at like midnight so 🫶

I think its not at all a stretch to say that Habit's parents tried to push her to be more "masculine". We know her father was physically abusive from the art on the roof and the diary entry from when she was ten. When he caught her kissing the lily, he lashed out. It's most likely he did this because it was "girly" to kiss the flower. This is a little iffy, since we always see her, even as a child, depicted with long hair. If they punished her for acting girly, surely they'd dissapprove of her having long hair. I think part of it has to do with how young she was in the art gallery. She's only *ten*, and while people do often push gender norms on kids, i feel like it's done to a bit of a lesser extent the younger the kid is, or at least, kids dont understand it as much. However, it could just be that they didn't think long hair was really an issue worth pursuing.

We know that they pressured her to be a doctor, when her real passion was for flowers, so its safe to assume they would be willing to pressure her to be more manly or masculine.

Also, with Jimothan and Parsley's story, Jimothan pushing Parsley to be more manly and talking a lot about girls and sports and pushing that on Parsley, we know that this stuff is present in the s4m universe. However, the difference with Jimothan and Parsley vs Habit and her father, is that Jimothan tries to accept Parsley the best he can, even if he doesn't really get it. He still loves his son, and doesn't want to lose him. There's also Trencil and Nat, another Father-child relationship. Theirs is different though, in that Nat is very young, and is going through a phase of wanting to be a cool grown up teenager who doesnt need her dad but still does love him, while trencil just wants to be close to his daughter like he once was, and doesnt understand why she seems to be drifting away from him. I wouldnt be at all surprised if Habit held a lot of resentment for Nat & Trencil and Jimothan & Parsley, envying the relationships they have, while also being frustrated that these "sad people" get to have loving, caring families while she doesn't get to have that.

I think she'd embrace femininity more after moving away from her parents, but I don't think she'd realise her trans identity until post-game, while she's navigating her complicated relationship with her past and how she sees herself. Ok good morning!!! Continuing trans woman Habit analysis. I think that that year after the Habitat, she would've taken a lot of time to reflect. In that time, she would've realised a lot of things about herself, and I think she would've started to explore more of the things she actually enjoys. From the epilogue we know that, post game, she began to work with flower kid in their flower shop, indicating that she's starting to do stuff she actually likes, rather than keep doing what her parents forced her into. I think that along with this, she would've thought more about her identity. For so long she'd had a fixation on smiles and teeth and appearences, that I think after realising how little all that stuff actually mattered, she would've started to have fun w it. Having fun w it by transitioning. Anyways
