I'm watching Life in Colour with David Attenborough and there's this woman Dr Lisa Taylor who's studying the courtship behaviour of those cute little peacock jumping spiders, and she wants to figure out how much the colours on a boy spider affect how attractive he is to girl spiders. She's got this species of spider where all the boys have red faces, and some are brighter than others, so to test whether a bright red face is what they go for, she holds a boy spider under a microscope (he's sitting on the plastic head of a pin and she's holding him in place with what looks like the tip of a bamboo skewer - not skewering him just using it to press against his body enough to keep him still) and gently paints his face with liquid eyeliner (which she chose because it's safe for his skin and doesn't affect his behaviour)

and after that the girl spiders ignore him!

I guess they don't like goths which is pretty funny for SPIDERS

I just wanna say bc I KNOW you're somewhere on tumblr, to the teenage girl who attended Take Your Kid To Work Day at an office building in Ontario, Canada circa 2013 and had a conversation with a middle aged woman in which you showed her your Black Veil Brides fanart and fanfics and ship content and told her about different fanfic tropes including a/b/o verse bc she happened to know who Panic! at The Disco and Fallout Boy were and thus you felt the need to show her your bandblr ship art, that was my fucking mother and I had to clarify all that to her including looking my mother in the eye and trying to explain a/b/o verse without sounding like a lunatic.
