Nishinoya Yuu x Cheerleader!reader link to my masterlist <33
Tumblr media
You and Nishinoya probably met during a school event, maybe a basketball match where you were cheering on your team. He was obviously drawn to your energy and enthusiasm, which matched his own. Noya is your biggest fan. He’s always front and center during your performances, cheering louder than anyone else. He even learns some of the cheers so he can do them with you. You cannot tell me that when he calls you to keep him company at the gym, you’ll practice your routines while Noya practices his skills and receives. You both are really competitive (being athletes), trying to outdo each other in stamina and precision. It’s a fun way to bond, and you both end up laughing, even if one of you wipes out.
If you do gymnastic type cheer, he definitely tries to copy some of your moves and flips (he folds the second he sees one of your tumble routines). Think you have the best routines in the world and will fight any judge that thinks otherwise, no matter how many times you tell him that you actually did mess up. Noya would totally want to help with your stunts, insisting he could be a base. While he might not be tall, his strength and determination make up for it, and you trust him completely
if you do stomp and shake cheer or call-and-response type cheer, he will dedicate hours to learn all of your lyrics and the moves that go with them, he also definitely does the trendy ones with you when they go viral on TikTok. And to be completely honest he got scared of your cheer voice in the beginning, but he grew to really like your ability to switch up on- and off the court, even if it surprises him (he's still a little scared to come up to you after you win a game).
you guy's sports use similar muscle group so expect a LOT of peer-conditioning dates (followed up by a meal for 10)
if any tries to tell you that 'you aren't a real athlete' or 'cheer isn't a sport' best believe that Noya is right next to you defending. Even if you tell him it's not worth it, and it's also a personal headcanon of mine that he is insanely good at roasts so this person's whole bloodline is cooked.
Noya loves surprising you with little things, like bringing you more water during practice or leaving encouraging notes with doodles in your cheer bag. He’s always thinking of ways to make you smile, just as you do for him. If your seasons don't match up, he is coming to the games that you cheer for, who cares if he doesn't understand basketball? his girl is out there. Plus, he begs you to make cheer just for him. It might start as a joke, but you’d end up putting real effort into it, and he’d beam with pride every time you perform it during a game. Even teaching some of your teammates for a surprise in your student section
If your seasons do match, that's the time when you see eachother the least, at first there was tension on you guys, but after a year or so you both get used to it and understand that you're both student-athletes with buys schedules.
Before big events, you might sneak into the boys’ locker room after most of them leave to give him a quick pep talk, because we all know he struggles with mental health. It becomes a tradition, with some of the team playfully teasing him but none of them know what you're saying and how encouraging it is <33
Tumblr media
to the anon that requested this thank you so much!! (I unfortunately couldn't find your ask so I'm so sorry </3) this is definitely a favorite trope of mine because I have experience in sports and cheerleading, so I probably over yapped ngl

can you tell us a fun fact about each of the ROs? mostly Paladin because I love what we have of them so far haha. also thank you for writing this, cant wait to get more!
Not actually fun facts, but interesting facts! 😉😉
Wildcat sometimes sleeps like a cat on the couches and beds around the tower, most of than not as an factual cat. When Paladin sees this they will just gently grab them and carry them to their actual bed.
Ace is very ticklish. Particularly in the armpits, sides, neck and feet. Interesting enough they can feel ticklish on their prosthetic arms, particularly in a spot in their inner elbow.
Zodiac, it comes with no surprise, is your typical "mother hen". They make sure that everybody on the team is uninjured after a mission or if they are eating healthy.
Paladin is quite an interesting character. They secretly engage in lengthy conversations about weapon design and fighting techniques via an anonymous chat room—only Stardom knows about it. They also have a habit of sharpening their blades and cleaning their weapons everyday before sleeping. They have the flexibility and agility of an elite Olympic gymnast, which they use during covert missions.
Archon is actually extremely competitive and will do almost anything to one up the other members of the team in any kind of competition, regardless of how trivial it is.
Stardom probably has ADHD, which they refuse to get diagnosed for some reason. It's why their lab is a mess of unfinished projects.
Mars learned how to play several musical instruments by themselves, so they are self-taught. Their favorite instruments are the piano and the koto, a Japanese string instrument.
Thanks for the question!! 🥰

From the Fluff prompt list #1, for MingCheng? “Could you say that again?” “Were you not listening?” “No I was, I just like hearing your voice.”
Tumblr media
Jiang Cheng wouldn’t describe himself as vain, but compared to Nie Mingjue he feels absolutely inadequate.
It’s not like Nie Mingjue ever shows him that he thinks the same—quite the opposite really, with how much Nie Mingjue dotes on him—but sometimes Jiang Cheng can’t help but to notice the difference between them.
Nie Mingjue is an active martial artist who likes to lift some weights, too, and it definitely shows. He’s huge and muscular but also light on his feet and Jiang Cheng feels so, so untrained next to him.
And it’s not even like he doesn’t do anythingsakdjfanything. He used to be a swimmer—right until his parents demanded that the trophies he brings home have to be golden or otherwise he’s a failure—so he still has the wide shoulders, but he doesn’t pack much muscles.
He doesn’t have to—being a rhythmic gymnast and all—but sometimes he can’t help but to think that he’s lacking, especially compared to Nie Mingjue.
“I just wish Huaisang would lift some weights every now and then,” Nie Mingjue sighs, and Jiang Cheng tunes back into their conversation. “It would do him some good. He’s all wobbly with no support and he complaints about backpains all the time.”
“That’s true,” Jiang Cheng gives back and he hopes they can drop this topic soon enough.
If they keep talking about this then it’ll only make Jiang Cheng feel worse and he wanted to have a relaxed Saturday. He doesn’t want to have to worry about the fact that his own boyfriend probably thinks him to be absolutely useless when it comes to physical activity.
Jiang Cheng isn’t quite ashamed of the fact that he enjoys gymnastics, but his parents called it a girlish sport often enough that he got self-conscious of it. Not to mention how strangely it’s still regarded to be a male in that sport. He’s not actively keeping it a secret, but he’s also not talking about it, either, and especially not with people who lift weights for fun.
Nie Mingjue will probably think it stupid, too; he complaints enough about the fact that Nie Huaisang watches dancing for Jiang Cheng to be absolutely certain of that.
“Anyway,” Nie Mingjue says and shoulders his bag and Jiang Cheng tries to make it look like he was paying attention all along. “I’m off to the gym. See you later?” he asks and when Jiang Cheng nods he drops a kiss to his head before he’s out the door.
Jiang Cheng tries to not mind that Nie Mingjue doesn’t even ask him if he wants to come along.
He didn’t think Nie Mingjue would think him so useless and such a hindrance, but Jiang Cheng guesses this is only fair.
~*~*~
“Okay, what’s wrong?” Nie Mingjue asks, sitting back up in bed and switching on the light.
“Nothing?” Jiang Cheng unsurely asks and stops in his tracks. “Why would something be wrong?”
“First of all, you’ve been strange for a few days now. And second; look at you!”
Jiang Cheng does look down at himself, and then back at Nie Mingjue.
“What?” he defensively asks and Nie Mingjue gives him a look.
“You’re wearing a shirt and pants. To bed. When you normally only sleep in your boxers. So please do tell me what’s wrong, because this cannot be comfortable for you,” Nie Mingjue says, waving his hands around and Jiang Cheng fights the urge to simply turn around and run away.
“Nothing is wrong,” Jiang Cheng tries but he knows that it’s futile.
And it’s not even like Nie Mingjue is wrong.
Usually Jiang Cheng can deal with the fact that Nie Mingjue is absolutely jacked—is into it, even—but lately he feels so damn insecure next to him.
He doesn’t have a six-pack and he doesn’t have that many visible muscles and it’s not like he could lift Nie Mingjue. At least he doesn’t think he could, cause he never tried but that’s beside the point.
The point is that Jiang Cheng is a slob compared to Nie Mingjue and surely it must bother him.
“My heart, I love you, but that is absolute bullshit. Something is very wrong and I want you to tell me. We promised to be honest, right? So be honest. Just tell me what has you all worried and we can work on it.”
“There’s nothing to work on,” Jiang Cheng snaps and crosses his arms in front of his chest. “I’m not a—” he cuts himself off but Nie Mingjue raises an eyebrow at him.
“Not a what?” he prompts him when Jiang Cheng doesn’t go on.
“A gym rat,” Jiang Cheng says with a whisper and can’t bear to look at Nie Mingjue. “I’m not even that athletic.”
“So?” Nie Mingjue wants to know and Jiang Cheng throws his hands up.
“You are!”
“Okay, and?” Nie Mingjue asks, because he clearly doesn’t get it.
“Why do you even like me?”
Nie Mingjue looks obviously confused.
“For many things and none of them have to do with how active you are or aren’t,” Nie Mingjue says with a shrug and Jiang Cheng scoffs.
“Yeah, because I’m not active.”
“And I’m not bothered by it,” Nie Mingjue gives back. “And besides, that’s not entirely true, right?” he then asks and Jiang Cheng freezes.
“What?”
“I mean you are kind of fit, so you must be doing something. And you might not be as muscle-y as I am, because you are more the lean type anyway, but you definitely pack some muscles, not even to mention your flexibility. Clearly you are doing some kind of sport. I can’t say I understand why you simply won’t tell me, but I respect it anyways.”
“Oh,” Jiang Cheng breathes out, but it doesn’t really make him feel better.
“You wouldn’t—it’s nothing,” he tries to appease but now that they started talking about this, Nie Mingjue doesn’t seem to want to drop it.
“You can tell me, you know that, right?” he asks and Jiang Cheng doesn’t quite manage to keep back his scoff.
“Yeah, right,” he mutters and Nie Mingjue looks offended.
“I would never shame you for what you do, no matter what it is.”
“I wish I could believe that but you shame Huaisang plenty for liking dancing,” Jiang Cheng bitterly says.
“I’m not—is that what you think of me?” Nie Mingjue wants to know and he sounds hurt. “That I would shame my brother for liking that?”
“Well, you do,” Jiang Cheng defensively says but Nie Mingjue shakes his head.
“I don’t. I shame him for only watching it instead of doing it himself; his health isn’t the best and he’s so interested in that sport, but he can’t be bothered to do it himself. Dancing would be great for him; it would enhance his endurance and he wouldn’t get too many muscles which would ruin his aesthetics or whatever he claims and he would get to wear all of his fancy outfits. I just don’t understand why he won’t give it a try.”
Jiang Cheng is so perplexed by this that he simply blinks at Nie Mingjue.
“What now?” Nie Mingjue snaps after a minute, clearly getting defensive himself. “Anything wrong with what I said?”
“You don’t mind if he would dance?”
“Of course not. Why would I? It’s a sport like any other sport. I just want him to get some workout.”
“I do rhythmic gymnastics,” Jiang Cheng blurts out and then presses his lips together.
“Ah,” Nie Mingjue says in surprise. “I guess that makes sense. You do have the body for it.”
“But I don’t compete,” Jiang Cheng adds, feeling like that might be important, too, even though he’s afraid that Nie Mingjue will find fault in that.
He is a very active martial artist after all and he has more than one gold medal.
“Okay,” Nie Mingjue gives back and then pauses. “Wanyin, is this what you’ve been worried about? That I would shame you for that?”
“I—maybe?” Jiang Cheng hesitantly says but he also finally makes his way towards the bed. “It’s just—you’re so—” he gestures at Nie Mingjue. “And I’m not.”
“Just because I like to lift weights doesn’t mean you have to as well. Even if you would, for my sake, it wouldn’t matter, because there’s no sense in doing something you don’t enjoy. If you hate lifting weights but love rhythmic gymnastics, then that’s perfectly alright.”
“And that I don’t compete?”
“Why should you? Sport is something you do for fun; as long as you do have fun during training that’s enough. Competing is just more pressure. I enjoy that, a lot; the whole atmosphere is amazing during a competition but there are enough people in the studio who stated very clearly that they would never ever compete. Even though I’m pretty sure most of them would kick my ass, but it’s perfectly alright that they don’t want to.”
“Is it really?” Jiang Cheng mutters, and it feels a little like he’s floundering at the moment, but he was so certain that Nie Mingjue would take offense that he doesn’t know what to do now that he doesn’t.
“Yes, my heart,” Nie Mingjue says and drags Jiang Cheng up the bed so he can hug him. “It’s so absolutely, perfectly alright. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.” He pauses. “Why did you keep it a secret that you’re doing rhythmic gymnastics?”
“It’s just—I’m a guy,” Jiang Cheng says and Nie Mingjue makes an understanding sound.
“I guess it’s not quite that accepted, right? There aren’t that many male gymnasts, correct?”
“Yes. And my parents—” Jiang Cheng trails off but of course Nie Mingjue can fill in the gaps.
“I see,” he mutters and then presses a lingering kiss to Jiang Cheng’s head. “Well, I don’t mind it at all. I would love to see it, actually, if you are comfortable with that, but no rush. I don’t mean to pressure you. If you don’t want to, that’s perfectly alright, too.”
Jiang Cheng doesn’t even know what to say to that, because no one wanted to see him perform yet, but in the end he gives a short nod.
“Eventually,” he says, because he feels like he’ll need time to prepare for that.
“No problem,” Nie Mingjue reassures him and then kisses him softly. “Now go change out of these clothes, I can’t imagine you’re comfortable.”
Jiang Cheng chuckles, because Nie Mingjue is right and he only gets up to be able to shed the clothes before he’s climbing into bed with Nie Mingjue, who pulls him into his side.
“No more worrying, okay?” Nie Mingjue asks, already sounding sleepy and Jiang Cheng kisses his chest.
“Promise,” he gives back. “I love you.”
“Mh,” Nie Mingjue hums. “Could you say that again?”
“Are you already asleep? Or are you simply not listening to me?”
“No, I am, I just like hearing your voice. Especially saying that,” Nie Mingjue gives back and curls a little bit towards Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng has no retort for that, because his heart is too busy beating out of his chest with how happy he is with Nie Mingjue and he vows to do better in the future.
It should be easy with how supportive and understanding Nie Mingjue is anyway.

PLS PLS LIST THE SWAPS!! TELL ME ABOUT THE SIBLINGS AND ALSO HIFUMI BECAUSE I LOVE HIM (IF YOU WANT!) I will also send more questions in the morning too, excited to see what you’ve been working on!!
OK OK OK !!!!! AHH! So, before assigning talents, I swapped the pools, so for the first game, I use the talents from the second game, and vis versa! For some i listed gender, sexuality, or neurodivergencies, though this isn’t all of them, and I haven’t developed them all to the same level!
This is SO long. I didn’t even bother mentioning things like my plans for the killing games. (I have DR1 planned out in full, but only parts of DR2 and the v3 anime)
THANK YOU FOR THE ASK MY HEART SKIPPED A BEAT IN HAPPINESS WHEN I SAW I HAD NEW ASK NOTIFS!!
LIST:
Trigger Happy Havoc (first game)
Kyoko Kirigiri- Ultimate Luckster- Mastermind (: Sometimes lesbians can be evil okay! was trained as a detective like everyone in her family and didn’t get the ultimate :) she’s definitely not mad about that :) her luck cycle depends on how far she plans things ahead. her good luck is when she’s spontaneous! She hates when ‘normal’ people are accepted by ultimates.
Makoto Naegi- Photographer (Mostly wildlife and nature photography, with Sayaka helping him for some animal photography (: trans and bi <3 One of sayaka’s birds nests in his hair like all the time)
Kiyotaka Ishimaru- Ultimate Swordsman (AUTISTIC ICON, has trained in kendo since he was a kid, then was essentially given away to the Fujisaki clan by his very stressed dad. Semiverbal, rarely speaks.)
Chihiro Fujisaki- Ultimate Yakuza (Taka is her bodyguard! His family is in debt to hers, the Fujisaki clan is the most powerful in Japan. trans icon, of course, dates Sayaka! Very direct, though she’s far more delicate and polite when talking to taka, her best friend)
Sakura Oogami- Ultimate Nurse (Works as an EMT- her clan still is in martial arts, so she’s still very buff, she assists in injuries at the family dojo. Autistic Icon)
Asahina Aoi- Ultimate Gamer (ULTIMATE ADHD. streams and has a ton of fun, will ramble while breaking records, demigirl who loves her girlfriend sakura :)
Mukuro Ikusaba- Ultimate Chef (Works best with ‘cheap’ food, and making them taste good. a byproduct of growing up on the streets with junko, and junko being bored of the same old food they dug out of the trash. now works closely with junko for her teams’ nutritional needs! autistic and sapphic.)
Junko Enoshima- Ultimate Team Manager (there are SO many sports she can never get bored, and the professional scene is always changing! prefers coaching womens’ teams, because being an ultimate brings them more publicity and usually higher pay :)
Mondo Oowada- Ultimate Prince (OH MY BOY. trans adhd icon. now the crown prince of Novoselic, with a reagent in his place until he comes of age. His service dog Chuck is a maltese and an absolute sweetheart. Chihiro takes him under her wing to teach leadership. also dates taka later OF COURSE, though they’re poly and I may add more ppl to their relationship later.)
Celestia Ludenburg- Ultimate Musician (specializes in violin, most strings, though she can play any instrument. grew up poor, dedicated herself to an instrument and persona to cope)
Byakuya Togami- Ultimate Musician (Yep. two musicians. two catty trans gay icons about to throw down. they HATE each other and grew up as rivals. specialize in classical, they literally tore a professional orchestra full of grown adults apart trying to make them side with who was the best musician. they’re so good that they’re matched, and Hope’s Peak accepts them as one student and combined ultimate. they room together. they fight. Literally if one of them gets expelled, the other does too, so they’re STUCK. eventually they become literally inseparable and insufferable together like the WORST siblings. I love them.)
Sayaka Maizono- Breeder (animal handler) (Specializes in birds!!!!!! has songbirds on her shoulders all the time. will give unsettling animal facts without realizing they’re unsettling. sends her songbirds to serenade chihiro when they start dating <3)
Yasuhiro Hagakure- Gymnast (you see this tall goof who acts like an older brother to everyone and wonder HOW he’s a gymnast. he’s completely different in competitions, though still lighthearted. becomes a big brother figure to mukuro and junko especially <3 also trans bc i say so.)
Leon Kuwata- Traditional Dancer (he just. kinda hates it. it takes SO much work and effort but he takes to it naturally. his cousin kanon is NOT like in canon, instead she’s helpful. he’d literally rather be doing anything else. doesn’t know how to do anything like... basic either. can’t cook. cant do his own laundry. everything was dedicated to traditional japanese dancing before he attended HPA.)
Toko Fukawa- Engineer (writes schematics and is very good at it. gets VERY upset when her plans go wrong. her notes are orderly and perfect. host for their system!)
Syo- Mechanic (a factive of genocider syo, NOT an actual killer. she’s a protector mainly, and also is more adept at hands on skills when it comes to fixing things, her hands are less shaky. Her notes are a disaster and she does it to spite Toko.)
Hifumi Yamada- (???) (reserve course) Protagonist! My BOY. HIFUMI IS GOOD OKAY. He’s autistic and loves anime and gaming! he’s not particularly ultimate-leveled at them, or anything else! Attending Hope’s Peak as a reserve course student! At one point he joins the student council as a reserve course representative even if he’s only a freshman :) He’s also a moderator in Hina’s livestream chat, under the username of JusticeHammer, fastest ban hammer this side of the internet. He's internet friends with hina and sakura, and doesn’t realize Oh We Go To the same SCHOOL until he bumps into them. and realizes hina doesnt know what he looks like. but sakura does. its hilarious. he’s aroace, and during the year they’re locked in HPA, is in a queer platonic partnership with Hina and Sakura, while they’re dating each other. it’s great.)
Goodbye Despair! (second game)
Peko Pekoyama- Lucky student (ohohoh. her luck relies on her conviction. if she has doubts her bad luck strikes HARD. trans!, was taken in by Fuyuhiko’s family when she was a baby, grew up as just another kid in the family. They all expected Fuyu to go off to HPA on his own and then BOOM acceptance letter)
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu- Programmer (He. gets so angry while coding. He has an array of rubber ducks to talk to and work through his coding issues with. trans of course. Very protective of Peko when people say she doesn’t have a ‘real’ ultimate. ADHD and Autistic)
Sonia Nevermind- Writer (Literary Girl) (Her family immigrated to Japan when she was young! She writes a lot of serial killer novels, murder mysteries and horror and all that! Trans and bi :)
Gundham Tanaka- Detective (YEAH my guy is a detective. still talks Like That. Trans and bi and he and Sonia were kinda-dating (t4t autistic power couple in the making) when things started happening. He spends some time with his cool older sister who he looks up to a LOT. He and Sonia talk through things together a lot, they both have those red string walls, one for murder cases, another for a fictional plot lmao.)
Mahiru Koizumi- Moral Compass (my GIRL. autistic. Her morals rely a lot on people taking responsibility and being reliable, and she ends up having to work through some biases she didn’t realize she had when she arrived at HPA. Is still protective of Hiyoko, though that protectiveness is spread a bit thinner to extend to the rest of the class.)
Hiyoko Saionji- Clairvoyant!!! (HI YES I COULD TALK ABOUT HER FOR DAYS. Has actual visions in dreams and when she suddenly faints, but doesn’t really realize they’re uhh Real Visions for a WHILE. uses her status as an ultimate clairvoyant to trick and bully kids when in school for a LONG time, though her homelife wasn’t great with her grandmother trying to find ways to make her visions more consistent. SHES ALSO 12 WHEN SHE JOINS THE 77TH CLASS. she’s just so advanced in academics and her ultimate is so interesting hope’s peak cant HELP but scout her early. she has SO many issues guys no one appreciates hiyoko enough, autistic gifted kid hiyoko my beloved.)
Akane Owari- Gambler (started gambling to help out her family and Got Good at it. is very very conscious of money and food like all the time. Runs the hope’s peak betting pools once she arrives. these ultimates bet on a lot of things. she ALWAYS wins. until she doesnt!!!)
Mikan Tsumiki- Martial Artist (ohhhh Mikan. Still anxious and clumsy (though not like THAT in canon) and literally no one looks at her and thinks Oh The ULTIMATE martial artist?? it isn’t until you see her in the ring that you understand. She started learning self defense as a kid because her (bad) parents essentially said she had to rely on and protect herself and no one else would help.)
Kazuichi Souda- Pop Idol (OH TRANS ICON? he’s nervous and paranoid about Everything still, though now it’s like. oh the entire world is always watching my every move this is Okay (: has the brightest neon album eras. he literally keeps up a like. weird chad persona when interacting with people because he’s masking how hard he’s constantly just internally screaming.)
Nagito Komaeda- Soldier (AHAHAH my mans got issues problems disorder he’s a messssss, this trans guy, this absolute gay. this boy leveled a city of thousands of people with his own hands and some bombs. Still has medical issues, but most of his like. treatments and medicine is hold hostage as long as he stays in line. believes the ends justify the means and anyone who dies to him is obviously weak, because look at him! he’s weak, but that doesn’t matter because he doesn’t have to be the strongest, he just has to be stronger than the weakest scum.)
Chiaki Nanami- Heir (OOF. Agender, uses any pronouns. Doesn’t really. enjoy being the heir. grew up with Byakuya in the same circles. she treats the economy and stock market and stuff like games. enjoys gaming but isn’t good at them. collects so many things. has halls full of collections. Her parents stopped controlling her once she was able to prove she had more money than them and could literally bankrupt them if she wanted.)
Hajime Hinata- Baseball Star (Chiaki’s best friend, his family was upper middle class until he hit it BIG as a baseball star. wants to do BIG things and wants to attend hope’s peak more than anything!! Doesn’t really think of baseball as his THING, just a means to an end! trans :)
Teruteru Hanamura- Biker Gang Leader (started with shaking down some jerks who didn’t pay their food and drink tabs at his mama’s restaurant. now he RUNS their tiny town. His siblings are essentially gang mascots, he works hard to keep them out of trouble (while bringing them to like. meetings where he ends up beating a dude almost to death. its fine). most of what he does it to get more money to keep the restaurant afloat and care for his mama with her health conditions.)
Nekomaru Nidai- Fashionista (the drama. the CHAOS. most people are like ohhh we can never understand this artistic genius when he’s literally just. vibing and has ADHD and a love for coffee. Works a lot on accessible clothing lines for disabled people! Also he and Kazuichi work together sometimes, Nekomaru is good at calming Kaz down and seeing like, the root of whatever problem and making it better. ALSO A TRANS ICON and just flaunts it.)
Imposter- In the hope’s peak days they are impersonating Ryota Mitarai, as a part of the 77th class. In the Killing Game they impersonate Mondo Oowada as the Ultimate Prince. They’re doin’ their best.
Ibuki Mioda- (???) (Izuru Kamakura) Protagonist! Gundham Tanaka’s older sister (though they’re in the same school year). Nonbinary and using just. an array of pronouns alongside she/her, and jokingly fights with gundham for neopronouns like MOM said it’s MY TURN on the rawrself pronouns. She attends the reserve course to stay at her brother’s side. She dresses loudly and acts even louder because !!! she wants to stand out!! in the middle of this drab reserve course hell!!  but when things go down, she wants to be someone, to be worthy of being her amazing brother’s big sister. so she accepts some offers.
NON-KILLING GAME:
Ryota Mitarai- Ultimate Analyst (stays in his room. He’s terrified of the outside world but fascinated by it. watches hope’s peak academy through security feeds, picking up on little details. he just wants to understand things but never looks at the big picture.)
Chisa Yukizome- Ultimate Boxer (Homeroom teacher!! She’s working really hard and believes in everyone! Some are intimidated by talent, but she’s never hurt anyone outside of the ring! Dating Kyosuke)
Juzo Sakakura- Ultimate Student Council President (Has anger issues, though his work at reigning them in assisted in becoming an Ultimate. Was responsible for security and the Hope’s Peak student council. Dating Kyosuke)
Kyosuke Munakata- Ultimate Housekeeper (Meticulous, works himself to the BONE even if he’s good enough to not have to do that. Is working on establishing another Hope’s Peak! Dating Chisa and Jozu!!!)
Seiko Kimura- Ultimate Blacksmith (GIVE MY GIRL KNIVES!! She’s an anxious gal, always wearing a facemask that filters the air in her forge because she has some respiratory problems. she prefers making more decorative pieces like an artist, but sometimes can create utilitarian pieces or tools to fit specific needs. Still a doormat)
Ruruka Ando- Ultimate Pharmacist (She constantly asks Seiko for new tools for her developments in medicine, saying its all for the advancement of humanity, so Seiko denying any request is SELFISH, though she never thinks to make anything for seiko’s health issues. Dating Izayoi. Specializes in medicine for mental health. Not Doing Great :)
Sonosuke Izayoi- Ultimate Confectioner (He loves sweets. LOVES them. Creates things that look plain, ordinary. but taste so GOOD you CRY and maybe ascend for a little bit. sometimes Ando makes cool new drugs to put in the sweets, who knows! It’s a mystery! He always has like. a huge refrigerated case of fresh cakes, and constantly has a lollipop in his own specialty recipe in his mouth.)

A3! And What Sports They’d Play ↦ All Troupes
So.. I was talking to a friend about the sports we used to play in the past. I loved sports as a kid and thinking of Haikyu also pushed me to do this. All troupes are included, and individual characters gets their own sport and my take on how well I think they’d do in it!
Kind of went off on Autumn and Winter Troupe;; sorry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uh, E-Sports, of course. He gets absolutely winded from walking, so sitting down and competitively playing a game he loves is his dream. On particularly intense matches, he breaks a heavy sweat and needs a lot of water and snacks to keep himself focused and in the game.
He's a popular player and a great one as well! Sometimes he gets asked to host little bits of the tournaments he attends because he has such a big fanbase and he's awesome at entertainment despite his normally deadpan tone with jokes.
Tumblr media
He has a lot of energy, so I think running in track or doing marathons would be good for him. Afterall, he's one of the first to run after Tsuzuru in the prologue of the game. He isn't the best nor is he the fastest runner, but his stamina is impressive and lets him outlast many of his competitors.
I also see him doing kayaking? Not competitively, but he definitely loves the thrill of crashing down small waterfalls and regaining his balance right after. The flow of the currents is exhilarating and he has a good sense of balance, so he'd rarely overturn in a kayak (which is absolutely dangerous by the way).
Tumblr media
He wouldn't do any competitive sports, but skate/longboarding is something I can definitely see him doing. If he needs time to himself or just simply wants to chill, he'll go out and enjoy the breeze as he boards down the bike lane in the park or on the road, hands in pockets.
He becomes a bit of an attraction at skate parks though. He's always seen there on his board, headphones donned and hands in pockets like I said; effortlessly performing tricks that a lot of other skaters would struggle doing. People are very attracted to the sight, and he lures them in whenever someone finds out he's at the park that day.
Tumblr media
He's already suffering so much and is always tired— I wouldn't put it past him to play shuffleboard. It's not a laborious sport, and he can play with anyone like his siblings or any elders who need the company. It's a slow paced sport and is great for sleepy Tsuzuru who needs a break from scrip writing. I don't know if there were any canon stories of him actually being involved in a sport at some point, but I think he'd be pretty okay at tennis or table tennis.
Tennis is a very intense sport so he didn't play it for long because practice cut into his studying, his part-time jobs, and his babysitting. Table tennis is similar to tennis with it's concept, except you can just kind of stand in one spot and don't have to run around as much. It's a fun game to play with his siblings since they enjoy it so much, and they always run after the ball so he doesn't have to do much other than play along with them and clean up when they're done.
Tumblr media
I honestly have no idea with Citron. I don't remember any canon details of Zahra (I think that's where he's from?) so I don't want to assume what kind of environment he was in that would influence his choice of athletics, but I think he would enjoy swimming! In the beach event, he ran into the water happily with Kazunari if I can remember, and I'd like to think he had a good body type for water.
There's also another part of me that thinks he'd love skydiving! The thrill of jumping out of the helicopter and letting the winds beat against him as he soared down towards the ground below would be awesome. He's practically shouting for joy as he glides down and loves the look of the city from above. Impressively enough, he can do flips in the air and loves twirling around, much to the dismay of other skydivers as they fear for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's not one for actively moving, but ballet seemed interesting to him and he wanted to try it out. He had no idea how intense ballet was, from strict teachers, to getting blisters on his ankles and feet, Yuki actually almost quit. What prevented him from doing so was probably watching a performance where his seniors were giving the juniors an extravagant scene to watch and they inspired Yuki to keep going.
I would have said acrobatics/gymnastics as well, but Yuki's arms aren't very strong and he doesn't like doing flashy things like that anyways (no offense...? I don't know, I haven't watched videos of this sport in years). If he did pursue acrobatics/gymnastics, I'm not sure if he'd be amazing at it, but he would definitely be decent! He's got the flare;;
Tumblr media
Running! Since he was in track for a while and was rumoured to be great at it, he would definitely be doing marathons and track alongside Sakuya. He had great speed and a stamina to match so he's a terribly good opponent to go against if you like to get pushed past your limits. If he kept pursuing track he would train during late nights and early morning with Tasuku, who has his routine jogs at those times.
Absolutely adores the sport too! His team of runners were basically second family to him, so if he chose to return, he would have the time of his life growing as a sportsman with them. He would grow into a fine and very popular runner! Hitting his growth spurt would only make him an even more fearsome competitor as his legs would get longer and his intense training with Omi and Tasuku would get his stamina maxed out.
Tumblr media
He has no time to do sports since he's always acting, so I honestly can't say what he'd do. He isn't the best runner either and extreme sports is out of the question since he's a bit of a scaredy cat. I guess he would enjoy a casual game of table tennis though? But despite liking the sport, I'm going to say that he kind of sucks at it. He understands the rules and everything, but his rhythm is off and he never manages to hit the ball back.
He's good at receiving a strike back though! He's always lucky at standing in the right spot with his paddle in the correct position to receive a smash hit, and that's basically the only time he wins a point because he catches his opponent off guard. It doesn't happen often though, so he still gets absolutely destroyed during a game of table tennis.
Tumblr media
I believe Misumi would be amazing at track & field. He runs extremely fast for one, and he does parkour like no other; he would definitely place first in sports like long jump, high jump, pole vault, and sprints. He doesn't have a particular favourite event to do though, but always does his best when someone gives him an incentive to do his best.
Izumi and Omi offer him triangle onigiri? He's going to run as fast as he can! Jump as high as he can and as far as he can! No one will be able to stop Misumi. But then again, competitive parkour is a thing, I'm pretty sure, so he can just do that sport for fun and still place in the top 3 at least. He would be terrible awesome at Ultimate Frisbee, but the disc isn't a triangle, so. :p
Tumblr media
Him? Sports? No.
I'm kidding. Do not know at all what sport he would enjoy playing, but billiards is something that suits him in my opinion. It doesn't have to be competitive, but he's greatly skilled at handling a cue stick, and his aim is impeccable. He's real lucky with trick-shots too, so don't go and start betting money with him; you'll definitely splurge all of your cash on him within seconds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sigh. It's super annoying that he's good at everything, and sports are no exception. He plays futsal with Omi and Tasuku the most, and is very light on his feet. He's so good that during competitive games he'll do a trickshot and score, or will play around with his check and do something like dribble the ball between their legs when they're at their most vulnerable.
I'm sure he would fall in love with ice hockey, though. Ice hockey is fast paced and is a contact sport so Banri would feel free on the ice rink. Good thing is that he's pretty good looking, so he's a fan favourite player. The cold air biting into his skin as he pushes himself across the rink to get to the puck is exciting and he loves body checking opponents into the walls (this also makes him a controversial player since he plays rough and dirty).
Tumblr media
He'd be a monster at competitive martial arts. Taekwondo especially, considering his kicks come in hot and fast. His spinning kicks are ones to avoid if you go against him, but he's so quick on his feet and can kick higher than his head so you might get a quick KO if you can't read his body language fast enough. Judo is also high on the list despite it being more of a grappling and throwing sport, but Juza's quick reflexes make him a difficult opponent to beat. Normally wins a match using jiu-jitsu grappling techniques on the floor.
He would also be great at ice hockey. His large figure and quick feet would make him a great player, and his posture is always low to the ground so it wouldn't be easy to knock him over on the rink. Not exactly the best at dribbling the puck though, but give him a one-timer when he's open and he'll send that thing flying through the net. No one tries to pick fights with him on the rink though lol, he's notorious for one hit ko's.
Tumblr media
Taichi gives off the chaotic vibes of Nishinoya from Haikyu, but he would suck at volleyball so I'm giving him badminton cause height doesn't matter too much I think as long as he's quick on his feet and is able to read the body language of his opponents well. His form would be perfect though and he's super agile so getting to that shuttlecock is no problem for him. He's got a bit of muscle too so he can send those babies flying!
Doesn't really use strategy most of the time, so he'll just keep hitting and receiving the shuttlecock however he wants until his opponent tires or until someone messed up a smash. No one else in Mankai plays badminton so finding him a coach is a bit difficult. He eventually learns other ways to hit the shuttlecock, so when he learns how to slice or do drop shots, he's a little monster on the court!
Tumblr media
Oh, the sports he would play.. Obviously, he plays futsal with Tasuku unless you haven't seen his card where he's playing as goalkeeper! With that information, he would absolutely destroy volleyball teams as a middle. Now I don't know if calling middles 'middle blocker' and outside hitters 'wing spikers' is like.. a cultural thing, and I know that's what they call the players in Haikyu, but it definitely catches me off guard and really confused lol. So, yeah! Omi would be amazing as a middle in the front since he's so tall and can shuffle fast on his feet to block a front row opponent. He's like Tendou in a way where he's great at reading people, the only thing is that he's better than Tendou (no offense, I'm serious) because he doesn't need to guess. He already knows. UGH, I want to go off on volleyball (both indoor & outdoor), but this part is getting long. Lmk if you want to hear me talk more about A3! & volleyball.
American football/rugby. Don't tell me I'm wrong please, I'll cry. Both of these are a full contact sport, and looking at Omi's past and his physical structure, you can't tell me he would not obliterate everyone on the field. He is either the offensive guard or the tackle. He will not start offensive plays, but he will end defensive plays. He stops any player from tackling their centre and tackles those who try to hit a blindside. I don't know much about rugby other than it is just as rough as American Football, just with less protective gear. I'm stopping here because I'm thirsting too much for Omi rn.
Tumblr media
HOO, baby! When I looked at Sakyo, I just knew he would be able to do something with swords, so I chose kendo/fencing. Keno is a traditional martial art stemming from Japan and is practised with wooden swords. I won't say I know much about the sport, but it is definitely tense and is very noisy. Noisy because kendokas/kenshis shout whenever they strike, this is to show their spirit. Sakyo kind of hates shouting during the sport, but it definitely lets off some steam and gives him more momentum when he strikes.
I also think fencing because there are swords involved here too, it's just that it seems to be more of a European sport and has some sort of specific footwork involved. The piste may seem a bit narrow as well compared to kendo where they have a whole floor to themselves, so Sakyo doesn't practice fencing as often. (The clothing he's required to wear for this sport is also quite stifling as well.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm ngl, but I didn't know what sport to give Tsumugi, omg, so I ended up giving him cup stacking. You know, you remember; I feel like you should do some research if you don't though because cup stacking was a huge thing in the early 2000's (?) and kids were setting world records here and there non-stop. Tsumugi uses his hands a lot for things like gardening, tutoring, bouquet arranging, etc, so he's deft and talented with them.
As long as he puts his mind to it, cup stacking is a piece of cake for him. He doesn't play anymore, but every now and then he'll look at his old kit in the corner of his room and will set it up with Tasuku in the lounge room for everyone to have a go at it. He loves the thrill and the way his adrenaline runs through his veins as he focuses on trying not to mess up the stack down.
Tumblr media
HOOOO! Okay, so we already know Tasuku plays futsal so I'm not going to bother, but man.. He would be the same as Omi in volleyball; an absolute monster of a middle player. He's well rounded in the sport, so his coaches/team actually refuse to switch him out with a libero/defence specialist. His digs are almost on point with the setter, and he's always at the right spot when receiving, making sure no one gets an empty spot on the court.
When he's in the front blocking or hitting, he's almost always successful, and since he trains a lot with different drills and regimes, he perfects a lot of things like tipping, tooling, slicing, and even setting. His height added along with his vertical makes it almost impossible for opponents to block him, and when he's feeling good in a game, he'll start doing things like float serves and jump serves. If he's feeling any better, he'll play around and start doing slide hits at the front or will hit from position A on the back court (left corner facing the net). He'd also do swimming!!!!!!!!! BUT THIS IS GETTING TOO LONG
Tumblr media
Definitely would do archery/darts. He's got impeccable aim if you take evidence from his outside work chats with Banri and has no problem pulling the string on a bow. Archery is difficult and I am not lying. Pulling the string until it's taut takes a large amount of strength and it digs deep into your fingertips, leaving calluses after one or two pulls.
Figuring out the trajectory and weighing in the factors of weather (if you're outside) takes a lot of skill and practice, and Hisoka always manages to hit the centre of the target with no hesitancy with his release of the string. His hands are all rough from the string digging into his fingers all the time, showing you how long he's been practising the sport.
Tumblr media
I don't think Homare was very athletic growing up. I'm saying this only because his body type is quite lean and he's a poet after all who seems to stay inside more often than not if he isn't meeting with an editor/publisher. I think figure skating would suit him very well as it is an elegant and cold weathered sport. I also think he would fall in love with the suits if Yuki made them as they'd sparkle brilliantly and show off his flare as a skater.
He figure skates as a casual hobby rather than competitive, but he definitely makes a lot of famous friends in the community due to his whimsical personality and beautiful posture.
Tumblr media
Kyudo (Japanese archery) was a sport that popped into my mind for Azuma, despite the strain it puts on the skin of his fingertips. His skin is very delicate with how much he takes care of it, so he wears a glove on his dominant hand to protect him. Kyudo seems to be more of a peaceful archery, and with the sight of Azuma in the kyudo uniform, the scene in front of you would be quite serene and calming.
I also think he would be great at figure skating since his body is lithe and he has lovely facial features that would complement the body suits that Yuki would create for him. His long hair flowing in the breeze he creates as he glides throughout the rink would be gorgeous along with the way his body looks as he does an axle in the air. His performances on the rink are always mesmerising, and he'll receive a few claps from fellow rink goers when he's in the centre just casually practising.

Okay, so, 4 sports animes, 3 of which I’ve watched all the episodes released, one that I’ve only watched the first ep so far. Gonna put them in the order that I watched them. Since I haven’t finished all of them, I’m only going to write about the first ep for each one. Also, I feel opening impressions are quite important for any show, so.
Yuri!!! on Ice (seen all of it)
Experience with sport: I’ve done ice skating before for fun, but I was never in any clubs or teams or had lessons; I never did figure skating. I’d seen figure skating performances during the winter olympics, and I always loved them, but that was the only competition form I’d ever seen it in.
Starting it with the skating scene, it instantly grabbed my attention with how well they animated the movements
I fell in love with Yuri Plisetsky at his introduction, the way he was set up, everything.
Set up as an antagonist of sorts (I don’t really feel like he’s actually an antagonist, but he was set up like that) and it didn’t take much to give us what we needed to know about him
The Yuri/Victor performing at the same time thing - animation that caught the movements wonderfully, we instantly knew what the hard things were even if we knew nothing about figure skating.
Introductions for all of the characters (introduced in ep 1) were amazing, instantly knew who was where in the skating world
Sk8 The Infinity (seen all of it)
Experience with sport: I have skateboarded once at scout camp, but never any races or stuff like that. It was on a skate ramp, that’s about it.
Opening with a race, dramatic, loved it
Reki and Langa’s relationship and introductions are glorious, Reki instantly trying to stop Langa from getting hurt at the race and giving him help
Drama of the race contrasting with Langa not knowing what the hell he’s doing
Instantanious knowledge of how everyone sees Cherry Blossom
Animation of races is amazing
The cuts between snowboarding and skateboarding with Langa
Adam’s introduction was incredible, we have no clue who this guy is, but we know he’s related to S (to be clear, I do not like Adam, his introduction was great, his character I do not like, written well as a character)
The introduction of S itself
(I’m not gonna talk about Joe’s introduction because I feel he wasn’t really introduced during ep 1)
Langa’s jump, glorious
Not entirely important, but I think Sk8 has the best soundtrack in general
Bakuten!! (seen all episodes released at time of writing this (11)) (I watched this all in one this morning, so some of the things from ep 2 may be in here on accident if my brain thought that they’d been in ep 1)
Experience with sport: I used to be part of a gymnastics club and we did competitions within the different groups on site (there was a lot of us) but never did competitions with outside clubs (I doubt we would’ve had space for them in the building, we barely managed all the different groups in there). The group I was in was unspecified, so I did all four things we had available: balance beam, vault, bars, floor (closest thing to Rhyth Gym). Haven’t done it for ages because I quit the club about 6 years ago, but I did get some medals for vault and bars. In short, I have the most experience with this one.
The first routine was captured beautifully
Shotaro’s introduction and his joining of the MRG club was put in really well, seeing him learn how to do a backflip
A good chunk of stuff within the first ep
The characters were all introduced really well, everyone was strongly shown
And Shusaku Shida. He’s amazing. If I had a coach like Shida, I’d probably still be doing gym now.
Haikyuu!! (seen ep 1)
Experience with sport: None, none at all
The first tornament showed Hinata well, with how he treated them and handled the situation
His character was shown well
But, the actual sport was not explained to those who don’t already know how to play volleyball
There wasn’t anything particularly hooking about the volleyball aspect for me, though I do understand that it was a rookie team vs a practiced team
I also couldn’t help but compare the Hinata/Kageyama bathroom meeting scene with the Yuri/Yuri bathroom meeting scene due to similarity (I know Haikyuu came out first, but I watched YOI first). I felt Yurio was introduced better than Kageyama was, but that was the second one, so I’m not sure if Haikyuu’s meeting influenced YOI’s one.
I also can’t remember the names yet, I got the names for YOI and Sk8 down from ep 1, Bakuten I’m still having a little trouble but have most of them, Haikyuu I haven’t got names down and had to get a list
Overall, Sk8 The Infinity is my favourite; it had the best opening. However, Shusaku Shida is my favourite character out of all of them and I wish I knew a real life version of him.
I could do this with all the animes I’ve seen if someone wanted, but I probably won’t do that without being asked since it is a longer list.

The multiverse trip trope, with the canon Batfam ending up in a No Capes AU, where their counterparts, being equally hyper-competent but having no secret identities to hide or vigilantism as the primary focus for channeling their energies into....are equally ridiculous to all vigilante versions of the Batfam, but in vastly different ways.
With no need to hide his athletic abilities or to try and distance himself from immediate association with his past acrobatics, Dick focuses his time and efforts on gymnastics after Bruce takes him in. He’s an Olympic gold medalist before he’s twenty, hailed for practically reinventing the nature of high-bar routines thanks to his innovative ways of melding elements of his former acrobatics with his gymnastics regimens.
Because of his many medals and natural charisma, he’s also a highly sought after brand face, asked to endorse or act as a spokesmodel for all kinds of things. He takes a particular savage joy in having his revenge on society as a whole, for the grief they gave him growing up, between the jokes about his circus background and ‘garish’ ensembles he patterns after his old costumes. Each year, he himself quietly seeks out talented designers who because of their backgrounds and the elitism of the high fashion world, are only able to advance so far in that industry.
Acting as a silent investor for them with the funds from his endorsement deals, he charms his way through backroom deals and opens the necessary doors to get his designers into the high profile fashion shows that can make designers’ careers, allowing them the much needed opportunities to showcase their designs and get them out into the world and in front of potential buyers.
But in addition to their own designs, Dick then commissions the designers he patrons, to design for him the most absurd things they can come up with. The kind of high fashion wtf’s that Ugly Betty’s wardrobe department could only dream of making, and then making into a punchline. Design for me an outfit you wouldn’t even inflict on your most hated enemy, Dick says to them.
And each year they do, and Dick models those looks personally. Then he sits back with his siblings and cackles with malevolent glee as the snobby ‘it crowds’ of his generation later turn out in droves to purchase his ‘signature looks.’ Strutting around town in imitation of the poise and charisma he pulls off effortlessly - but those, no amount of money can buy, and given they’re the only reason Dick Grayson alone can get away with wearing this stuff and still look as good as he does when doing so - well, the socialite circles inevitably end up looking utterly ridiculous. The harder they try and sell it with artificial confidence that Page Six and talk show hosts see right through, the more they get shredded to pieces with scathing jokes and headlines that put anything they ever managed to come up with to shame.
Meanwhile, the revenue from their frenzied purchases of these ‘must-have’ looks of the season? More than enough to launch the careers of Dick’s designers, right up to the A-List, where Dick leaves them to do what they want and make the most of it, with his eternal gratitude for humoring him and his rich kid eccentricities. (Not that his designers haven’t all since long figured out the joke and gotten vindication of their own out of it, as the designers and buyers who tried previously to shut them out because of their humble backgrounds, now all rush to try and rip off their more out there and high profile ‘Dick Grayson Looks’ with their own versions, over-saturating that particular market demographic just as people start catching on that these designs were always doomed to fizzle without Dick wearing them himself......leaving Dick’s designers with an open, uncluttered path right to the demographics they actually want to sell to, with the designs nobody’s attempted to imitate yet because they were too busy keeping eyes glued to Dick’s peacock ensembles).
Bruce has long since given up expecting he’ll ever understand his various children without them making an effort to translate first.....so the first time he walks in on Dick, Jason and Duke watching E! with a focus they’ve never displayed for sports, and with the coffee table covered in so many papers and flow charts and graphs, the den looks more like a War Room rather than just three of his boys watching Entertainment Tonight with frightening intensity.
Bruce just waits in the doorway for them to notice him and arches one eyebrow when they do. Oh, there’s a point to all of this, he’s sure. But damned if he can figure out on his own just what the hell it might be.
His eldest just beams at him with his thousand watt smile.
“Love me or hate me, they all want to be me,” Dick sing-songs. Then he shrugs innocently, as though that explains it all.
It doesn’t, Bruce is fairly certain.
“Why?” He asks somewhat plaintively, after his struggle to select one of the many, many questions buzzing in his head glitches on that one syllable and refuses to budge until he at least voices that much.
“We’ve been over this, B. Its part of our Twenty Seven Step Plan to Destroy the Upper Class,” Jason says impatiently, still jotting notes in pen on one of the graphs, eyes still locked on the TV. “God, its like you never listen, I fucking swear.”
“That running joke you two had when you were in high school?” Bruce asks blankly, focusing on his two eldest. Duke is paying absolutely no attention to him any way, leaning over to cross something out on the same graph Jason’s working on, scrawling some kind of correction while Jason nods like that makes total sense in whatever bizarre arithmetic they’re all working off of.
Dick sighs in the fond manner of a parent whose child has just done something particularly endearing. “You gotta admit, its kinda cute he still thinks we’re joking when we talk about class warfare.”
“Eh,” Jason grunts noncommittally. “Benjamin Button he is not.”
“If you boys don’t mind, could you do me a favor and make sure to clarify when you’re making fun of me? I have trouble spotting the insults otherwise,” Bruce says dryly.
“But that’s what makes it fun!” Duke says, beaming with his own version of Dick’s thousand watt grin. Equal in intensity, but where Dick’s tends to burst into being all at once like a supernova, Duke’s tends to sneak up on you, slowly increasing the illumination until you realize you’re blinking spots out of your vision and it hits you that you haven’t been able to see anything but blinding luminescence for awhile now, and you don’t even know for sure how long.
“Well how about just this once, you boys take pity on me and cut your old man a break,” Bruce says, still in tones as parched as Saharan dunes. “Explain what I’m looking at here as though I’m five.”
“Christ, B, you’re not freaking geriatric,” Jason mutters. “You’re only in your forties, its way too soon for you to try and milk the senility angle.”
“We’re documenting record of public reactions to the latest fashion crimes of Gotham’s A-List,” Dick cuts off Jason, taking the aforementioned pity on his father as he provides an explanation that is in no way helpful.
Bruce squints at the screen. “But aren’t those the same outfits you wore during your Fashion Week thing last month?”
“Well yeah, but on me they look good,” Dick shrugs.
“Don’t gloat,” Jason says to his brother. “It’s tacky.”
“Facts are facts,” Dick says without a hint of apology. “Lying in the name of false modesty would be the true dishonesty.”
“Incredible. You even manage to put a pious-sounding spin on being an egotistical shit,” Jason marvels. “How do you do that?”
Dick shrugs again. “It’s a gift.”
Bruce clears his throat. “And what’s all this documentation for, anyway?”
“Dick’s book,” Duke says matter of factly. Bruce would be flattered by his children’s apparent belief he can intuitively leap from one esoteric comment straight to an epiphany like some kind of goddamn gazelle - if he weren’t still so lost.
“Dick has a book? Since when? I thought Jason was the writer in this family,” Bruce frowns. “And I’m quite certain there was a big to-do made when you were all much younger, where it was decided that each of you would focus yourself on distinct pursuits not overlapping with any other siblings’, so as not to kill each other in your inevitable quest to be number one.”
“Well first off, Dad, if you couldn’t handle a little competition between your children, you shouldn’t have adopted competitive children,” Dick lectures absently, still scribbling away at those damn pages.
“Its not like you all came labeled with future character traits,” Bruce says crankily. They ignore him.
“And secondly, upon discovering that the agreement we all signed was the end product of carefully dropped hints aimed at making us believe we all came to the table of our own volition, when in fact, they were merely the machinations of the mastermind known as our meddling father,” Jason intoned, finally looking up at Bruce to raise one eyebrow at him significantly, “the Treaty of Wayne Manor’s South Family Room circa 2012, was thus deemed by all signatories to be fruit of the poisonous tree, and subsequently rendered null and void.”
Bruce’s frown deepens. “How did you figure that out? And why are you suddenly talking like a Bond villain?”
“Well it was mostly more of a theory until just now,” Dick beams at him. Dammit. You’d think he’d know better than to walk right into things like that by now. “But Tim had a hunch pretty much from the start, except then we all ended up branching out towards different interests anyway so it didn’t seem to matter that much, and we figured why not let you keep thinking you got a win there, you know?”
“I have the most thoughtful children.”
“We do try,” Jason hums.
“We try,” Duke snorts. “You add snarky commentary.”
“That was implied.”
Duke rolls his eyes and rolls right past that. “And Jason’s talking like that because he’s got that book tour coming up in a couple weeks, and he’s test driving new Eccentric Author Aesthetics.”
“Gotta give the people what they want,” Jason shrugs. “My fanbase expects the precociously grumpy darling of the New York literary circuit to be baffling and unpredictable, I give them baffling and unpredictable.”
“And here I thought you’d said you hated your fanbase. And rather then giving them anything, last I heard you were claiming to be withholding your sophomore manuscript just to spite them,” Bruce says. His voice is still lost and wandering in the desert, not a hint of precipitation to be found. “In fact, I distinctly recall wanting to take you out to celebrate the rave reviews of your debut novel, the week of its release. Only you were busy having a diatribe about how ridiculous the reviews were and how nobody had any business calling the barely coherent linguistic finger paintings of an emotionally stunted twenty-one year old the ‘next great American novel’ and it called the entire slate of reviews’ credibility into question as any brains capable of producing thoughts that erroneous should be required to display a count of their individual brain cells before anyone even considers viewing any thought produced by them as potentially being credible.”
“And you thought he never listens,” Duke snickers at his older brother. “Sounds like a direct quote to me.”
Jason just shrugs again, not remotely moved. “Yeah but I hate everything, so its not like that really means anything. Also, I’m full of shit. I thought everyone knew that.”
“He’s not subtle,” Dick informs Bruce.
“Subtlety’s for losers,” Jason defends himself. “Like tact.”
Bruce clears his throat again. “Back to the matter of Dick’s book?”
“Oh, right!” Dick chirps. “I have a book. Well, will have. This is research for it.”
“So you are taking up writing after all?”
“Hah!” Jason barks out loudly. Dick can’t write for shit. He can’t even write a thank you card, forget about a whole fucking novel.”
“Umm, I can write, I merely choose not to,” Dick sniffs pointedly. Then he rolls his eyes in disgust. “And Jesus Christ, chill, Prince Passive Aggressive. I can’t believe you’re still making such a big deal about that. Let it go already.”
He and Jason both shoot quick looks over at Duke about two seconds after Dick’s last sentence. Duke looks up just in time to catch their glances darting away again.
“Hang on, why did you both look at me, like you thought I was about to start singing that stupid song from Frozen?” Duke frowns at them suspiciously. “You guys do know that I’m not Stephanie, right?”
“Yeah but you have been hanging around her an awful lot lately, and she’s contagious,” Jason points out. Duke’s frown deepens for a moment, but then it wings out of sight and he shrugs, perfectly at ease again.
“Yeah, that’s fair.”
“Anyway, its Dick’s tell-all book on Gotham high society,” Jason continues on. “I’ll be the one actually writing it of course. He’s just the pretty face getting slapped on the cover, but I mean, that’s the only reason people are gonna wanna buy it, so I’ll probably just phone it in anyway.”
Bruce focuses on the only part of that reveal he can handle at the moment. “Jay, you’re not remotely capable of ever phoning something in.”
“How dare you accuse me of having a work ethic. Rude and disrespectful. My reputation isn’t built to withstand that kind of slander.”
“And feel free to mock all you want, but my pretty face on that cover is what’s going to earn me my first SCPF,” Dick announces loftily.
Duke looks up. Opens his mouth. Shakes his head. Closes it. Looks back down. Sighs. Looks back up again.
“Not that I don’t know better than to ask, but what the hell is an SCPF?”
“My version of an EGOT that I just made up while Jay was being offended by a compliment to his work ethic. Spokesmodel, cover model, print model, fashion model. The four cornerstones of the modeling world, which I will then have conquered, leaving me free to move on to other endeavors.”
Jason studies his older brother gravely. Then he shakes his head.
“Even as a complete and utter joke, that combination of words disgusts me. You make me physically nauseous sometimes, you know.”
“Another gift of mine, I suppose. I have so many,” Dick muses, leaning back and examining something on the chart he was scribbling on, as if trying to take in another angle for some no doubt ridiculous reason. Why were his children like this.
“Before this migraine finishes settling in and pitches its tent for the night, anyone care to tell me just what exactly this tell-all will be telling?” Bruce sighs. It was never too early to start damage control when this particular combination of his kids were conspiring together.
“Oh, everything,” Dick says breezily. “Who had affairs, who embezzled from their companies, who bribed or blackmailed or bought off this or that. All kinds of juicy sordid stuff, real page turner stuff, you know? You’d think important people would do a better job of keeping high stake secrets all hush hush instead of dropping them all willy nilly at various galas over the years, but c’est la vie.”
“Its almost like there are potential hazards to condescendingly assuming the uneducated circus brat someone adopted as an obvious PR stunt, like, just can’t understand a lick of what people say around him, what with his thick foreign accent obviously conveying he just don’t know English words so good nope, nope, nopers,” Dick concludes merrily, a familiar sparkle in his eye. One that usually heralded social cataclysms to come.
“And so you’ve taken it upon yourself to warn the public of those potential hazards. Good for you, son,” Bruce says sardonically. Despite his best efforts, the corners of his lips keep tugging stubbornly upwards.
“Just trying my best to give back to the community that’s given me so much,” Dick shrugs in the closest approximation to an ‘aw shucks’ vibe that Bruce has ever seen his son manage in as long as he’s known him. Jason reaches over and smacks the back of Dick’s head.
“Hey!” The elder brother snaps back, rubbing the back of his head with wounded dignity. He glares at his smirking brother.
“My bad. I thought you were against false modesty. Just trying to help keep you honest, bro.”
Dick narrows his eyes at him. “Touche,” is all he says.
“Last question before I give up and admit defeat,” Bruce interjects before that escalates. As tends to happen in moments like the previous. With no limit to how long or how far that escalation might last. By his count, his two eldest boys were somehow still engaged in four entirely different extended, longterm feuds they seemed somehow able to treat as separate and distinct from each other, with one of those stretching all the way back a good ten years, and still no end in sight as far as anyone knew.
How did they determine what fights would end in minutes and which warranted stretching out over a course of years? Bruce really couldn’t say. How did they manage to stop and start the same argument off and on for all that time, without letting the last-addressed state of the argument affect how they interacted when their fight was back on ‘pause’? No idea. How did they seem able to treat each different matter they fought about as its own distinct entity that had no bearing on anything outside that particular argument, with no overlap or cross-pollination as far as anyone else had ever been witness to, and why did they even bother doing so in the first place? God, Bruce dearly wishes he knew.
Unfortunately, for all that his entire horde of children often at times seem to exist on a wholly separate and private plane unreachable by the rest of humanity, Bruce’s first two children to fill the halls of Wayne Manor with laughs, screeches and occasional declarations of war and an intent to maim, dismember and murder -
Well. They at times seemed to possess a language and extra senses unique just to them, and baffling to the entire rest of the world and their own siblings as well.
Oh well. At least Bruce could take some small comfort in Duke’s occasional glance of wary confusion, thrown towards one or both of his brothers when they weren’t looking.
“Yo, this is Planet Earth, hailing one eternally out of touch bachelor billionaire way up in the atmosphere,” Jason sharply cuts into Bruce’s distraction with a snap of his fingers. “Are you trying to milk the senility thing again? We’ve been over this. You need at least another decade of mileage before we’ll validate your senior citizen card.”
“Right.” Bruce rolls his eyes at his son, but shakes his head to clear it nevertheless. Ah, yes. “Yes. Indulge me, please. What exactly does what you’re watching have to do with Dick’s....tell-all, and how does whatever all of this is count as research?”
“Oh, we’re just keeping record of public shaming of every snobby rich jackass to buy one of the fashion monstrosities Dick wears at Fashion Week, only to then look utterly ridiculous and absurd when they try and wear it in public and everyone points and laughs,” Duke chimes in.
“I see,” Bruce says, his lips twitching again. “And this of course all ties back into class warfare and...what was it again...oh yes, the Twenty Seven Step Plan To Destroy The Upper Class?”
“That’s right,” Duke nods.
“I even know what the title is going to be already,” Dick smiles with bared teeth. “I’m going with: ‘Weapons of Choice.’“
“Of course, as I keep explaining to him, nobody gets final say on the title of their book, and there’s every chance the publisher will end up changing the title to something they pick,” Jason says with a pointed look at his brother.
Dick’s willful obliviousness visibly deflects Jay’s arched gaze long before any point can hit and make an impact. “And as I keep explaining to him, if they try and change the title, I will simply explain to them that they are incorrect and it already has the perfect title and one can not improve upon perfection.”
Jason strangles a gutteral, incoherent growl before it can fully escape from his throat. “I want to throttle you.”
“I know,” Dick says sunnily.
“Well, as long as you’ve thought this through, which you clearly have, I have no doubt you’ll get the results you’re after,” Bruce says. Doubtfully. Though of what, he’s not entirely sure. His sanity, thinking that yes, half a dozen precocious, willful and utterly incomprehensible children, that’s the ticket, exactly what my life needs. Yes, that was probably the matter actually in doubt.
“Ugh, B, you’re not getting it,” Dick complains. He exchanges frustrated glances with his brothers. “He’s not getting it.”
“It’s not rocket science,” Jason says patiently. “Basic rule of street fighting....the most effective takedowns come from aiming at someone’s weakest point. Whenever possible, go for the throat. What’s the equivalent of the throat as far as Gotham’s upper class is considered? Public image.”
“Destroy their public image, destroy them,” Dick finishes cheerfully. “They crack, get egg on their face like the nursery rhyme says, and bam, Humpty Dumpty has a great fall and all the queen’s knights working as a team still can’t put them together again and while they’re distracted the pawns can slip past them and become queens!”
Jason stares at him. “I know what you’re doing and its not going to work.”
“What am I doing?”
“Deliberately mangling the fuck out of a bunch of different well known sayings that you know perfectly well how they really go, while doing that thing where you act like you’re the most airheaded ditz to ever live and have a brain that runs off of helium instead of oxygen like the rest of us. Because you know damn well how obnoxious that is to anyone who knows exactly how intelligent you really are and that you actually have a mind like a steel trap that remembers fucking everything, no matter how inane, which is fucking rude, because that’s wasted on you and also, stop it. I told you. Its not going to work.”
“Oh Jay.” Dick tilts his head to the side and grins wider. “That’s not what I’m doing.”
“Uh huh,” Jason says, unconvinced. “Then what, pray tell, are you doing?”
“That thing where I trick you into believing I’m doing the more obvious seeming thing and then annoy you with my fake airhead routine until you end up flattering me and paying me compliments when pointing out why my airhead routine could never work on you and is thus just annoying,” Dick says brightly.
Jason’s eyebrows inch incrementally together with the slow, ominous scrape of stone grinding across stone. Dick is entirely undeterred, and simply shrugs again with a painfully fake display of innocence.
“Its dinner time and my ego needed feeding. Thanks for that bee tee dubs, it was getting hungry. Nom nom.”
“Yeah,” Jason says casually, after a good ten second pause. He nods decisively. “Okay, I’m going to murder you now.”
He lunges for his brother, but Dick’s resting pose is the equivalent of anyone else impatiently waiting at the starting block of a race. He’s up and on his feet, gracefully dancing out of range of his younger but bigger brother’s wider reach, and has darted halfway towards the other exit to the room by the time Jason finishes scrambling to his feet. Not that any of that delays the younger man from taking off in a dead sprint in pursuit of his laughing sprite of a brother the second he does.
Bruce stares after them for a moment and then shifts his gaze down to Duke, who’s still seated contentedly on the floor, blithely unaffected by Dick and Jason’s mad dash out the room as he continues scribbling down notes.
“I will pay you all the money I have, not to grow up to be like them,” Bruce says in the gravest possible tone he can manage. “You don’t even have to wait til I’m dead.”
Duke sighs and shakes his head. “B, c’mon, man. I’m clearly on Team Class Warfare. I’m insulted you think I can be bought.”
Bruce frowns. “You all are way, way too fond of this trolling thing you do.”
“Mmm. Agree to disagree.”

Hiii! could i request a bnha romantic matchup?(jewellerybox, musicbox) Any pronouns, you can call me Gigi, i’m 5’0, and pansexual.
i’m an ENFP, an aries, chaotic good/neutral. i’m very energetic, weird, disorganized, loud, honest, loyal, optimistic, creative, calm, empathetic, emotional, dramatic, active, airhead and aloof, indecisive, talkative, patient, moody. even though i’m vey energetic and talkative i’m pretty calm and can be quiet and bring my energy to a lower level to match other people’s around me.
i like collecting stuffed animals and random objects, i’m pretty competitive and aggressive, i also love competitive games especially just dance and mario kart, speaking of being aggressive i love physical fights(mainly play fights), i ask a lot of questions and kinda doze off a lot, i like to bake and i’m pretty good at it but i’m terrible at cooking, i’m sorta an airhead and out of touch with reality quite often i also get distracted quite easily, i can never tell when someone likes me even if it’s painfuly obvious, i love physical affection weather i’m giving or receiving like cuddles and hugs🥰, in general i’m quite a physical person when it comes to anything i love getting in there and doing things so i can’t stand sitting around and doing nothing unless i’m playing a video game, I really like preforming, loud noises, rain, sunsets, rainbows, music, food and sleep. i love animals especially little ones like frogs, snails, ducks, rabbits and cats, i love thunderstorms, and im really good at comforting and calming down people if they’re really stressed, sad or angry. i love romance stories or just casually seeing two people out on the street in love it just makes me happy. my sister is really hot headed and doesn’t like to admit she’s wrong so i’m used to dealing with her attitude and anger, but my parents and brother are pretty easy going and calmer so i’m also used to that, i hate spiders and the dark. i’ve been told i’m the cinnamon roll and crackhead of my friendgroup and great at giving advice although i suck at giving myself advice. i’m quite chaotic, clumsy, and random and i tend to do dangerous things with out thinking them through. i also love gymnastics, climbing things and obstacle courses. i like sunsets and going on walks or just being outside during them. i also love going on fun “adventures” with people. my cousins and i would make up new games to play all the time. i love snow and sledding but i hate the cold so i’m always bundled up. i procrastinate way too much and usually forget things. i get along with most people and i’m pretty open minded. i usually say what’s on my mind even oft it’s not appropriate for the moment, i’m fairly honest to people, and i love theatre even though i’m not the best singer at least my acting and dancing are decent. also thank you in advance 💛🐌
♡︎ matchup for anon
hi! this was a toughie but i finally came to the best decision (◡ ω ◡) put it under the cut because the request itself is already quite long. i hope you enjoy!!
bnha: i match you with . . .
Tumblr media
ochako uraraka !!
• there are a lot of points to make but the biggest of them all is that how comfortable you would make each other feel. you have several similar traits such as bubbliness(?), honesty and positivity. in addition, with Ochako there's an endless stream of compliments, little favours and soft touches that assure you you're never alone.
• asdfghjk that was the first bullet and i'm already in love
• i think there is something very special about having a s/o that reacts to things the same way you do. it creates a bond without neither of you having to exchange long conversations. usually these are during moments of happiness or excitement that the two of you just click.
• the trust between you and Ocha is simply otherworldly. you're so open with each other, able to talk about almost anything and knowing you have someone who supports you regardless of anything.
• i am convinced she was crushing on you, her best friend, for the longest time. everything about you and what you did was mesmerising. Ocha stopped counting how many times she caught herself in a daze, staring at you with warm cheeks (´・ᴗ・`)
• you were so oblivious to her feelings though she wanted to cry. luckily there was Mina who called together a whole operation featuring most of class 1-A to get you two together!
• they worked so hard to get you alone or hint Ochako's feelings for you. it was almost comical how badly they failed each time though . . . when she was bummed out about the series of failures sitting by herself you asked her what was wrong.
• obviously she was too embarrassed to tell you but you began worrying that it was something much worse.
• "Ocha, you can tell me anything but i understand if you don't want to. i'll give you some space if that helps you feel better."
• The next second she leaped up, grabbing her hand in yours. "no, Gigi! it's not that."
• "i love you, Ochako. i will keep all of your secrets."
• "wait. . . you love me? like 'in love with me'?"
• "well. . . yeah"
• and so you ended up accidentally confessing instead ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ochako almost faint and had to lie down but all's well that ends well.
• your energy and dramatic acts never fail to make her laugh. it's so infectious i swear both of you end up rolling on the floor and clutching your stomachs in laughter over something stupid.
• just because you're literally the most wholesome couple in existence doesn't mean you'll have any mercy on the other in any competition though.
• playing mario kart? banana peels and shells, this is war and we die like Daichi (oops wrong fandom—) on a brisky jog? y'all run a marathon just to win. though you probably simultaneously end up getting distracted by a cat or a rainbow aww
• if you can't take care of yourself Ochako sure will. she'll give you her best advice and remind you of your deadlines. she's not below taking away your cuddling rights either, don't test her >:(
• Ochako is the softest person to cuddle with! after an exhausting day of working of assignments she holds to close to her while you're both bundled in a blanket and snacking.
• whether you're chatting or watching a movie she usually ends up making you cute little hairdo, like piggytails or just putting colourful hairclips in your hair.
• your dates include sport dates which means just doing anything active like going climbing or long walks, going to theatres (usually nearby ones to support the local associations), chill movie nights which may or may not turn into tickle fights, and late night adventures ♡︎

— favourite memory with you
when both of you forgot the key to your dorm rooms so you slept on the common roo sofa for the night. it was before you got together so Ochako had to pretend she wasn't super nervous about the whole thing. then you thought she was cold and inviteed her to sleep on the same sofa so you could cuddle. surprisingly, Ochako did relax as you talked. it was the moment she became determined to confess to you.
— favourite activity to do together
going on small adventures together is enough to fill her to the brim with joy. it can be something as simple as going grocery shopping or running errands, really. with you she feels like anything can happen, that even the daily life can be full of small, wonderful things.
— favourite place to kiss you
it's not really a kiss but i'm telling you she can't stop blowing little raspberries on your arms. it starts out with cute kisses but eventually she can't resist herself. if you're alone in your room it might just escalate into a tickle fight.
— favourite nicknames for you
'Mochgi'. wait, don't go yet i can explain! you were eating mochi together when she asked you to pass her some more. she wanted to say "can you give me some more mochi, Gigi?" but it came out as "can go give me some more mochgi?" because her mouth was full. it became a thing for you to laugh about but actually Ochako kind of likes it now because it suits you.
— favourite thing about you
your open-minded approach to the world and your empathy. all Ochako ever wants to do is help people and make them smile—you seem to do so naturally without even trying. admittedly, she wishes she could be the same and deeply admires those traits in you. you have to remind her that she's perfect the way she is. in return she will likely refuse to let go of you for the rest of the day.
♡︎ runner up: Katsuki Bakugo (istg i was this close to matching you with him but i couldn't get the concept of Ochako and you out of my head)
i think i'm gonna have to give up on trying to schedule my writing because i fail each time. this took forever but thank you fpr being patient! happy new year and stay safe ♡︎

Re-watching Lizzie Mcguire: Episode 2.6 (The Rise and Fall of the Kate Empire)
Tumblr media
A baby kitten is born every time Kate smiles
- It’s lunchtime and the students of Hillridge Junior High have flocked to the school courtyard to eat their lunch. However, Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda got there a bit too late and they are struggling to find seats. The only 3 seats available are at Kate and Claire’s table (which was actually their usual table) but due to obvious reasons, they hesitate to sit with them.
- However, Gordo is sick of eating his baloney in the grass and wants to take a stand against the cheerleaders and their ‘no mixing with outsiders’ policy. Things start out promising but moments later, all three of them end up eating in the grass.
Tumblr media
I wish they showed what Kate and Claire did or say to them that caused them to back away.
- The cheerleaders are then seen practicing their routine led by Kate and our main trio have no other choice but to watch them. As Lizzie is watching them perform, she expresses her disdain for Kate and wishes that she would be knocked off her pedestal. Well, be careful what you wish for Lizzie because it might just come true and just like that...we get this moment:
Tumblr media
Claire, the new Queen Bee Cheerleader
- After the opening credits, we find out that Kate had dislocated her shoulder and won’t be able to do cheerleading for about a month. Whilst Gordo and Miranda are somewhat thrilled about it, Lizzie feels slightly bad for Kate because she didn’t want her to get hurt. I’m not surprised since Kate and Lizzie did share that one bonding moment together in Season 1. So, she already knows there’s good inside of her.
Tumblr media
- We then see Kate arriving at the cheerleaders’ lunch table but Claire and the rest of her so-called ‘friends’ are giving her a weird look. Claire rudely tells Kate that she’s not allowed to sit at their table since her shoulder got dislocated and can’t be a cheerleader anymore. She’s giving such Gretchen Wieners “You can’t sit with us” vibes. But seriously, this really shows me that Claire and the other girls are such bad friends because they are willing to turn their back against their own kind for no good reason. Especially Claire; Why would she treat her best friend like that? That’s really evil.
Tumblr media
- I thought Kate was going to stand up for herself but no, she just leaves without fighting back. And look at her! She’s eating alone on the grass...I feel bad for her and so does Lizzie.
- Life for Lizzie and her friends under Claire’s rule or should I say, iron fist is miserable. Not only is she forcing people who’s not popular to not walk in the same hallway as her, she’s also making everyone eat lunch in the grass. She’s way worse than Kate, that’s for sure.
- Fun fact: The Lizzie Mcguire novel titled ‘The Rise and Fall of the Kate Empire’ that was based on this episode actually included Claire telling our main trio that they’re not allowed to walk in that hallway because she deemed it to be a “cheerleaders-only hallway”. She also tells them to go to the ‘dork-hallway’ instead, which where the next scene takes place.
Mission ‘Re-popularize Kate’
- Kate is seen struggling to carry her books and Lizzie approaches her to help. Lizzie also apologizes to Kate about everything that has happened to her recently. Lizzie doesn’t have to feel weird about being nice to her; They’re definitely friends deep down still.
- After school, Lizzie tells her friends that they should try to make Kate popular again so that they don’t have to deal with Claire being the school’s Queen Bee anymore. But of course, it’s clear Lizzie really wants to help her only because she feels sorry for her. After some initial hesitation, Gordo and Miranda are onboard with Lizzie’s new mission.
-  For stage one of their plan, they first try to spread a rumor about Kate’s aunt being a famous cheerleader for the Lakers, which backfires on them because it made Kate seem even more desperate to become popular again. With Plan B, they sit with Kate in the grass and ask her what they can do to help her so that she can get her friends back again.
- Hmm, how about not giving two cents about her fake friends? They are horrible for just dumping her like that. Time to move on, I say. Anyways, Kate laments about not being able to do any cheerleading stunts with just one arm but I love how Lizzie is recommending her some stunts she can do since she did do Rhythmic Gymnastics in the 7th grade. I like this callback.
- Another fun fact: The novel also included Lizzie revealing to Kate that they were the ones who spread that rumor about her aunt.
Tumblr media
Aww look at her; She really appreciates Lizzie for being willing to help her. Also, I’m living for Miranda calling Claire a witch lmao.
Tumblr media
- Things shift over to a montage of Lizzie teaching Kate how to do one-handed stunts and Kate picks it up pretty quickly. After practice, Kate acts like she isn’t grateful for them helping her, which of course, is all a front since she wants to maintain her tough exterior in front of other people. Oh, and this moment was really awkward but funny to watch:
Tumblr media
Basically, Gordo thought that Kate was going to thank him for helping her but it turns out that he was just sitting on her sweater lol.
The Moment Of Truth
- During cheer practice, Kate confronts Claire and challenges her to a cheer competition, to which she agrees to do. Kate goes first and she does amazingly well. But I can’t help but notice that it’s clearly a stunt double in Kate/Ashlie’s place lol.
Tumblr media
Kate ends her routine with an aerial cartwheel and that amazes everyone in the audience, including Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda.
- Claire’s up next and...
Tumblr media
She does an EPIC FAIL. The sound effects made it even funnier. Poor thing ended up hurting her wrist. But that’s karma for ya Claire.
- And just like that, Kate regains her status as head cheerleader with Claire being down for the count.
- Fast forward a few days later, Claire is seen with an arm sling and she’s seen eating lunch alone (as deserved btw). Kate sees her and walks up to her, with Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo thinking she’s probably going to make fun of her.
Tumblr media
- But look at this! Kate is actually being nice to her and is welcoming Claire to sit with them despite having fractured her wrist. She’s trying to set a new precedent by not treating her friends like dirt, unlike Claire and I’m so here for that.
B-Plot: Matt and the Doorbell
Tumblr media
This is honestly really adorable lol
- Matt reveals to his parents that he will be starring in his school’s play this year but he will only have one line to say, which is probably Matt’s most iconic line from the entire show and that is “Ah, the doorbell. I’ll get that”. Despite this, Matt thinks he is a big star of the play and without him, the play would be ruined.
Tumblr media
- I think Lanny doesn’t seem to be down with Matt’s diva or should I say divo behavior. But at least he’s showing his support and helping him run through his one and only line lol.
- Gradually, throughout the episode, Matt’s behavior stars to get out of hand (as usual); First, he demands his mom, Jo to remove the chocolate chips from the trail mix she prepared for him and later, he asks her to turn down the lights in the living room for him. He’s even starting to boss Lanny around.
Tumblr media
- It’s actually gotten so bad that both Jo and Sam are willing to ground him after the play for treating the people around him like dirt. After hearing about the news of his grounding, Matt gets upset to the point where he loses his voice from trying to talk back to them. And just like that, they decide to retract his sentencing because losing his voice is good enough punishment. Umm, shouldn’t they be more concerned about his health though lol?
- Anyways, towards the end of the episode, Matt is bed-ridden and he also apologizes to his mom and Lanny for being a jerk to them. Because Matt isn’t able to do the play anymore, Lanny volunteers to take his place. I wonder how he’s going to say the line since we NEVER hear him speak. Lol! I guess that’s the joke huh?
Overall Thoughts
- It’s pretty clear that the A-plot and the B-plot of this episode both share the same lesson of learning how to not treat your friends like dirt with Matt apologizing to his mom and Lanny for his diva behavior and with Kate learning not to treat people badly despite having been treated badly herself by those same people.
- This episode definitely has elements of the season 1 episode, “Lizzie and Kate’s Excellent Adventure” where we see Lizzie and Kate getting along well. I just wish that this episode ended with them actually becoming friends again because clearly, they were always meant to be friends. Like, they seriously need to stop playing it up in public that they dislike each other. That smile they gave each other in the end was all the hint they needed in order to realize that them hating on each other is stupid. And with Claire, I just hope she learned her lesson and realizes that Kate is a true friend. This episode also makes me realize that she is such a bad influence on Kate. Hopefully things will change with Claire.
- Matt’s storyline was pretty decent actually; It really shows me that he can take responsibility and apologize to the people he’s offended. His scenes didn’t distract me from the main plot and I hope it continues this way in the episodes to come.

I was tagged by the amazing @nefelimalfoy, thank you for the tag! I hope I’m doing this right, I’m still pretty new to the mechanics of Tumblr so we’re just gonna roll with it and hope this is how it works 😂. I made this on a new one to save space but I decided to do this tag because I figured it’d be a good way for you guys to get to know me since I don’t have an About Me page. Either way, thanks again, and here are my answers!
Named after someone? Yes actually! My name is Morgan and I was named after my mother’s maiden name because they wanted to give me a unisex name so I could be whoever I wanted to be, and that name just happened to work really well. It’s still my grandmother’s name so we always have fun calling each other by my name for fun. My mom also just really loved that name, even when she was a teenager, and wanted to call her child that in the future anyway, so here I am!
Last time you cried? The last time I cried was about three weeks ago. We recently moved several states away from my friends and family and I’m having a hard time adjusting since I didn’t really want to live in this particular state in the first place, coupled with leaving everyone, it’s been a little tough for me. Nothing significant, sometimes I just miss my friends 😊.
Do you have any kids? Nope, I’m only 18 so not quite there yet, but I’m hoping to have some in the future! I’d love to have between 2 and 3 but that all depends on what country I live in and the state of the world at the time I’m ready for them. Raising kids is expensive and really hard so I wanna be ready for them. But hopefully they are in my future somewhere!
Do you use sarcasm a lot? I guess I’d say I use it moderately. I love to use it all the time for humor purposes, but in terms of using it for when I’m annoyed, I guess it just depends on how long I am in an annoying situation and who I’m with. It’s my favorite thing to use for jokes but I’d say I use it moderately in terms of genuine use.
Eye color? I have blue eyes! Although they tend to change based on the seasons. In the winter and spring they are more blue and in the spring and summer they are more green, so I guess it kinda depends on the season and temperature.
Favorite book genre? Definitely fantasy but I will honestly read almost anything just so long as the story is interesting. I don’t really have a “least favorite” genre or anything because I tend to judge a book based on it’s story rather than it’s genre. But most of my favorite books of all time come from fantasy, so I’d say that’s my favorite aside from horror and psychological thrillers which are also top tier genres in my book (can’t watch horror movies but could read horror novels any day).
Any special talent? Okay so actually, I do have one talent that would be considered special. I have no idea where it came from or how I learned it, but ever since I was a little kid, I’ve been able to perfectly replicate certain animal sounds (and a few extra ones that aren’t animals too). I can do a dog, cat (both meow and purr), horse, goat, zebra, pig, dove, Golum (from LOTR), Stitch, trumpet, engine from Cruella Devil’s car (I know this is really fucking specific but trust me on this one), dragon growl/purr (think from HTTYD), and Homer Simpson. Again, I have literally no idea how I started, I just know that when I was a kid, I used to bark like a dog and eventually got good at it (according to my mom). Now, I just practice different sounds I want to make until I can completely replicate them. I know it sounds far fetched, but that’s what it is. It’s really fun to shock people with tbh 😂. But I always have to be careful dogs aren’t around when I bark, because I have set off a barking frenzy before 😅.
What country were you born in? I was born in America but I hope to move to Europe shortly after college. I’m looking at somewhere like Scotland or New Zealand but honestly getting to explore Europe will be amazing in itself and I know I’ll find where I want to live as I go along.
What are your hobbies? Well, writing is the obvious one but I don’t just write fanfics. I also write original short stories and I am working on a fantasy novel currently. Aside from writing, I have been riding horses ever since I was 2 years old, riding my first pony on my grandma’s farm. Now I ride and show competitively, showing in the jumper ring with my 17 hand dark bay Thoroughbred, Moose! We jump about a meter 20 (if any of you know equestrian terms/measurements) but we are aiming for the Grand Prix at some point in my life. I also like to wake surf behind a boat on lakes, draw, read books, and listen to music. I also absolutely love classic cars more than anything. It’s my dream to have one one day and fix her up, so while it’s not technically a hobby since I haven’t done it yet and I don’t know much about the mechanics, I do a lot of research and reading up on them, which will hopefully lead to my dream coming true at some point!
Do you have any pets? Oh god, here comes the word vomit. I could talk about my pets for days 😂 but I’ll keep it short. I actually have three dogs currently, two french bulldogs and a street chihuahua (she does not look like a normal chihuahua at all. She is quite a bit larger and has the funkiest ears of any dog ever. She looks like if a weasel, a chihuahua, and a pine marten had a baby) we found abandoned and neglected when I was 9. I also have a horse and my mother has one as well so as a family we have two because both my mom and I ride competitively. My two frenchies are called Herschel and Humphrey, and then the chihuahua is called Ginger. My horse, as mentioned earlier, is named Moose and my mom’s horse (a 17.2 hand Warmblood) is called Rexy. Despite having all little dogs, we used to have two labs whom I loved with all of my heart, so I’m hoping to get big dogs again in the future when I get out of college. My dream dogs are German Shepherds, Pitt Bulls, and Labs, Collies, or Dobermans. Honestly, just any rescue dog will work, but those are the dogs I envision myself having in the future.
What sports do you play/have played? Like I said earlier, I am an equestrian and have been riding for 16 years but when I was younger I went through a bunch of other sports to see  which one I liked the most. Obviously horseback riding ended up winning, but I did try soccer, gymnastics, dance, taekwondo, track, cross country, and wake surfing. Aside from horseback riding, wake surfing was a favorite of mine, and I only stopped when we sold the lake house and boat we had that we would use to surf. But I still love it and hope to try it again sometime! Other than that, I kinda just like exercising in general, so while I don’t do any of this competitively, I like to run occasionally and I ride my bike as much as I can when I have the time.
How tall are you? I am 5’4” or about 163 cm give or take. I am definitely the shortest aside from my mom in both my family in my friend group but I actually like being smaller sometimes. I can officially say I can fit in both a vacation suitcase and a medium sized dog kennel (like for corgis, beagles, etc.).
Favorite subject in school? In high school, my favorite class by far was Vet Med, but I also loved AP Literature. My teacher was the best and reading has always been my strength (rip math). As for my college classes, my favorites are Abnormal Psychology and Creative Writing.
Dream job? Okay realistically, my dream job is Forensic Psychology. Basically a detective with a psychology degree so that you can not only solve cases but also study the criminals behind them. That’s what I am currently going to uni for and what I hope will continue throughout the duration of my college years! I originally wanted to be a Veterinarian more than anything (hence why I took Vet Med in high school), but for a whole magnitude of reasons, I decided against it. I actually worked at a vet clinic for three years during high school and I fucking loved it, but there were just a lot of things that bothered me about the industry (it didn’t have anything to do with the vets themselves, those people are fucking awesome) so I decided it would be for the best if I changed my major. I still fucking love it and I even have an old textbook from when I was going to major in it that I read when I want so I can still stay refreshed on the major injuries and diseases and their cures. I also get some experience with Vet Med since with horses, the owner kinda has to do most of the healing unless it’s something specific like acupuncture, so I take care of all of Moose’s injuries and illnesses in the same way a vet would. If we are talking unrealistic, my dream job would be to train horses in Europe, writing short stories and novels as I travel around the world to train and compete. While I could never support myself with a job like this, horseback riding will always be in my life and I am hoping that my novel will be successful enough to allow me to be an author on the side of my Forensic Psych job!
Thanks again for tagging me, and thank you for reading through my word vomit about my life! In turn, I’m going to tag @mysteriousmagicx for this. Have a nice day!

Feature Friday with Christopher Wiacek
Happy Friday! How are you feeling this week? It doesn’t really feel like a Friday to us, since we’re home everyday and the kiddos are out of school, but we’re doing our best to celebrate it anyway with music and biscuits to start the weekend off right. Hope you’re doing the best you can, friend, and enjoy Christopher’s Feature Friday, where shares his perspective on life, loss, and realizing where he truly belongs. Check out what we mean below…
On his love for the Brits: I think my favorite place that I’ve ever traveled to would have to be London, England. I’ve been there twice, once in 2010 and the other in 2016. I’m a massive Harry Potter fan, so a lot of the second trip was based around seeing Cursed Child on the West End (which my friend and I bought tickets to before even buying flights/a place to stay). I’ve always found British things to be weirdly exotic to me, and the history behind much of the culture is what draws me to it.
On growing up and a sense of longing: I grew up in the suburbs of Syracuse, NY.  Overall, Syracuse is actually relatively conservative, with the exception of the communities that I grew up with. I was a part of the theater community growing up, so most of the people I interacted with from a young age were pretty liberal overall, which translates to my views today. Most of my family and friends have all been super nurturing and supportive, with the exception of a few here and there.
I went to a pretty large high school (there were over 3,000 kids overall and 900+ seniors in my graduating class!). It’s true what they say though- in this period of my life, high school seems like a million lifetimes in the past. I was a part of the chorus/theater crowd in high school. I had a few good friends, but ultimately never really felt like I was meant to stay in Syracuse for the rest of my life. I had that feeling from a young age, and I’ve always had my eyes on the big city. I fell in love with acting and the arts, and after graduating high school, I went to SUNY Fredonia, which I currently hold a Bachelor's in Fine Art in Acting. Once I graduated, I worked my way up the corporate latter at Wegmans (an amazing supermarket chain in the Northeast), and eventually got burned out by retail. Throughout all of this, I was auditioning, doing shows and trying to live out my best creative life while also paying those adult bills that seem to build up.
On the importance of community: I think that growing up in Syracuse was very much a melting pot of many different environments for me. I was always extremely curious about everything during my childhood and had an intense imagination. That still is true today, although my imagination/curious nature has been a bit affected by reality. I also grew up doing competitive gymnastics, so I learned discipline at a young age from that. That was four nights a week during the year and on top of regular school. To round it out, I was raised Catholic, though I don’t really identify as a Catholic anymore. I think the importance of community was imbedded in me while growing up in multiple different ways. I always felt like I needed to be a part of something bigger than I was. Growing up with doing gymnastics, theater,  and other activities that kept me active really shaped me on who I am today.
On one interesting fact: I am ambidextrous and use both my hands equally for daily tasks. My dad is the same way! Sometimes it can get a little annoying because I oftentimes have to stop and think for a split second which hand to use that will have a better result of what I am doing. It’s fun though because my mind works in weird ways where I’m not necessarily bound by one certain way of doing something.
On what he loves about himself: My persistence. Over the past eight months, I’ve learned to love this part of myself even more than I ever have before. I think I inherit this from my parents, because of my ability to pick myself up off the ground and keep moving forward no matter what has been a driving force for me. I’ve had this drive for practically my whole life, in college getting papers/projects finished, in life, getting DIY projects completed, etc. Overall, the will to keep moving forward no matter what is one thing I really do love about myself.
“I’ve learned though, that the people who truly love and care about you will stick by your side no matter who you love or who you’re attracted to. At the end of the day, all they care about is your happiness, and that’s how it should be.”
On what brings him joy: This answer has changed so much over the past few years. At first, it was acting/performing (which still brings me a lot of joy when I get to do it), then it was doing DIY projects (I love redoing furniture, building things and HGTV is my JAM).  But as I get older, the one thing that honestly brings me the most joy is my family. I absolutely love my parents and my siblings. We aren’t together as a whole too often, because we all live in different parts of the country currently, but when we are together, it's amazing.
On coming out: This answer is a bit scary and muddled because I was out to my friends long before I told anyone else. I came out to my family though when I was 26, so not too long ago. I still lived at home at the time and was trying to save up to eventually get my own place. I told my sister first because from what I can even remember about this night, I was at my exes Formal event for his fraternity. I had messaged her and told her over a text,  and she was immediately non-judgmental. To bring it back, I had started seeing my now ex about 4 months earlier and started to feel the pressure to come out because I was getting tired of lying, sneaking and overall just not being truthful to people. I’m sure we all go through this at some point, but I was reaching a breaking point. My story is a bit of a cop-out, to be honest in my opinion. The story goes that I was driving the 45 min to Cornell’s campus to see the guy I had been dating. It was pretty late at night, probably around 11:30 pm, and I got pulled over for speeding. In short, I got a ticket in a small town that no one apart from the people I was going to see knew where I was. I started to get nervous because I was still on my parents' car insurance at the time. They would know eventually that I got a ticket because the bill would increase and they’d be notified etc etc. I decided to use the ticket as my way to do it, and beat them to the punch. I came home the next day and both my parents were in the kitchen. I basically told them that I had gotten a ticket, and they asked why I was in Dryden (the small town) at 11:30 pm on a weeknight. I told them I was seeing someone who went to Cornell, and when they asked who, I told them his name. The initial response was not what I expected…I think the stereotype is that your mom will take it better than your dad, but this is not the case with me. My mom didn’t take it so well, and my dad told me I could date whoever I wanted.  I was a bit surprised, but overall a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders.
On feeling more comfortable over time: My friends had all practically known for a while and were all pretty supportive when I told them. I was also in a relationship at the time too, so I at least had my now ex to turn to and didn’t really care what people thought anymore. My older brother and my younger sister were both actually really cool about it. My parents overall were okay with it in time, but at first, they didn’t really understand. It has taken a while for them to be comfortable with the fact, but I think just talking to them is what helped.  I also came out to one of my good friends in a text message, and his reply was one of the nicest and funniest things. I screen-shotted the message and still have it in my favorited photos on my phone. I don’t think I necessarily faced any harsh backlash, other than just feeling a little uncomfortable talking about all of that stuff with my parents.  On a daily basis, we basically have to come out every time we meet someone new. Luckily for me now, I live in the most liberal/accepting city ever (NYC!), so practically everyone is gay haha. I’m a lot more comfortable with everything now, and it honestly just took some time.
On learning not to care what others think: I think during that whole process (which is still sort of an ongoing process for me), I’ve learned that other people's opinions just don’t matter at the end of the day. I’ve stopped caring so much about my appearance and how I was acting to “appease the people”, or adhere to the “straight norms” of society. I also have never been single and out until the last 8 months, so it’s been a bit lonely, scary and unnerving at times. I’ve learned though, that the people who truly love and care about you will stick by your side no matter who you love or who you’re attracted to. At the end of the day, all they care about is your happiness, and that’s how it should be.
On his advice to LGBTQ+ youth: I would tell today’s LGBTQ youth that everything you hear about “it gets better” can be true. Understanding your own identity or feelings can be hard enough without all the fear and anxiety that comes with thinking that you won’t be accepted by the people you care most about. I totally get that, because I lived in that world so so long. It’s one of the reasons why I didn’t come out for so long.  It’s also important to realize that you’re not alone. It may feel that way, but there are amazing resources, organizations, and materials that positively represent the LGBTQ community that you can use to educate the people who care the most about you. If someone truly cares about you and your happiness, they shouldn’t care who you love at the end of the day. Love is love. It’s more important now that ever in our society to be really aware of all of the homophobia, transphobia, and prejudices that are out there, and fight for what you believe in. It may be super scary to come out, but once you do, there’s a magical world that will embrace you. You’ll have a glow-up and the weight of everything will finally start to ease.
On taking it “one day at a time”: I think that this past summer, the trifecta of obstacles hit me at the same time. I lost my boyfriend, my home and my job, all in a matter of five days. Mind you, this was also in the midst of NYC World Pride. To go onto more detail, I had to find a new place to live because my roommate was not re-signing the lease and nor was I on the last apartment that we shared. It wasn’t a great living situation, and it became official at this time when the lease renewal papers arrived. On top of this, I was dumped by my now ex of almost three years, seemingly out of the blue, or at least it seemed that way to me. It was a massive upheaval in my life, seeing as though I was dumped right before World Pride, and all of our plans sort of blew up. The relationship was very codependent on both sides, so figuring out what I was to do next really threw me for a loop. I had to start my life over from rock bottom and navigate the world with practically an emotional hole blown through me. I was much closer to his family than he was to mine, mainly because of the distance. After trying to cope with this breakup that following weekend and taking a trip home to Syracuse to spend time with family/friends, I came back to NYC on Monday only to work a full day and then get laid off at 4:00 pm. I think at this point, I sort of shut down internally and the old Chris was so beaten down by everything that he was “past a point of no return” and sort of died inside.
I had lost all of the main pillars of my life, and everything completely had fallen apart in such a short time period. To basically lose the group of people that I considered something like a second family was devastating. Once this happened, I decided to go home to my actual family in Syracuse for a few weeks to take a break from the city and recuperate. In this time, I mainly focused on my body and working out/trying to take care of myself and not fall even deeper into the abyss of it all. While away in Syracuse, I was officially broken up with via text message from the relationship. I had found also out my ex was on Grindr basically a day after dumping me (and from what I’ve found out since he had been on it multiple times during the course of our monogamous relationship too…).
During this period, I basically started to have a mental breakdown, because I had no idea what to do next. On top of dealing with the normal everyday stresses of living in NYC, I was now having to deal with a really painful breakup, needing to find a place to live AND finding a new job. There were a lot of stressors nagging at me, mainly my source of income. To even find a new place, I had to first find a job that would make me financially stable and form some sort of budget. There were so many pieces of the puzzle that needed to be filled in, that it was honestly mind-boggling.
It’s been about 8 months now since all of this happened, and it’s been a long and hard road. I had my “Britney” moment and shaved my head because I was sick of dealing with my hair (this actually turned out kind of cool and created a whole new look for myself). I went platinum around Thanksgiving and have kept it this way since. I also had applied to over 75 jobs over the course of the summer and went on countless interviews and phone interviews. I was super aggressive in job hunting and had finally procured a great job at a tech firm in the Financial District towards the end of September. As for the apartment woes, I couch crashed on some close college friends' couches for a few weeks. After that, I found a temporary cheap room in a tiny Brooklyn apartment that had no door, no closet (A challenge, I know, but I made it work!), and roommates I did not know. Money was tight, but I had to do what I had to do to survive in order to stay in the city. I now am living with two great friends in upper Manhattan in a really cute apartment that has a door AND a closet). So, life is looking up!
For the relationship side of things… It’s been a long road of healing. I must have read every single self-help book in Barnes and Noble, in addition to seeking out the advice of friends and family to talk about it. I even wrote a letter to my ex’s mom. Being that I was pretty close with his family throughout the relationship, I thought it was a respectful thing to do to send a “thank you” letter for all of the things that they did for me while I was dating her son. To be completely honest, I thought I would have heard back with some sort of response or well wishes for the future. Instead, it’s been a cold turkey moment, and I never heard back… nor have I heard from anyone in that whole community that I spent the better part of three years with. I guess it goes to show you that the people who really care about you will reach out, and the ones that don’t care…. won't. Ultimately, I’ve never been out and single at the same time, so it’s been quite the turbulent journey that I’ve had to overcome. I’m still healing, but I’ve pretty much adhered to the “one day at a time” method.
On his biggest inspiration: My biggest inspiration would have to be my parents. Both of them have persevered over the years in multiple different ways, and have always provided for my siblings and I. They have both faced extreme challenges, but have really set a great example for us growing up. I hope I get to be the type of parents they are to me to my future children.
On looking ahead: I think in five years, I hope to still have a stable job, a beautiful home and a relationship that fosters into a family of my own. I think I mainly hope to just be happy, regardless of the financial situation I am in.
On what really matters: Life comes at you fast, and you have to be ready to meet it with perseverance and grace. Otherwise, if you don’t, you can get easily eaten up along the way and lose yourself to the madness of it all.  Stay true to who you are, and trust in the universe that everything always happens for a reason.

To Be Named Soon Strip Club Fic (Prologue)
Prologue / Chapter 1 / Chapter 2
Warning: I am currently planning this to have some Thomas/Virgil romantic elements, if that’s not your thing please move on and have a wonderful day! In addition, this story involves strippers and will likely have some explicit content at some point, so if that isn’t you thing, also please move on and have a wonderful day! Summary: Sanders Sides Strip Club AU, with a newbie Virgil who still isn’t sure about performing in front of actual people and protective club owner Thomas who just wants his employees to be happy and reach their full potential.
Pairings: Patton/Emile, Logan/Roman, Thomas/Virgil, Virgil/Remy, possibly Thomas/Virgil/Remy depending on how things go. More couples may be added.
Hello! So if you follow myself or @organizeddiscord (which you totally should because she’s awesome, but that’s just my opinion) you’ll probably have already seen the conversation about a Stripper AU for the sides. This is what I have come up with. Hope you enjoy! PS: If anyone has a good suggestion for a name for this fic please tell me, I couldn’t think of one I liked.
Virgil was an utter mess at fifteen.
Granted he doesn’t think he’s that much better at present, but he thinks (or at least hopes) he’s got it a little more together.
He’d always felt off, different. Just saying hi to people, or asking a teacher he’d had for months for a bathroom pass was hard for him. He tried so hard not to care. But he was constantly plagued with thoughts of what everyone was thinking, and saying. Still, he put on the mask of the uncaring person he wished he could be.
He was a loner. He had very few friends, and the ones he did have were more acquaintances than anything. People he didn’t think would kick him away if he sat at their lunch table, but no one he really talked to or hung out with outside of school.
The person he talked to the most was probably Mr. Greene, the school counselor. He was a quiet but kind man who never complained when Virgil dumped all of his problems on him. Mr. Greene had urged Virgil to get a true therapist, one who could properly diagnose his anxiety and maybe prescribe him something to help. The sweet counselor had even talked to his parents about it.
His parents didn’t believe in therapy. They didn’t think there was anything wrong with him. He just wasn’t trying hard enough. He was too lazy. Too scared. Too weak. “Just stop being so damn shy and talk to some people like a normal human being. We don’t need to pay good money for you to talk to some old hack who’s going to put you on pills that you don’t need and will only cost us more.” His parents had tried to ban him from talking to Mr. Greene as well but they couldn’t really do that. After all, the school counselor was there for all the students
It pissed Virgil off more than anything, because deep down he truly thought some professional help could really help him. Yet, his parents’ words wormed their way into his mind. Was there really nothing wrong with him besides being too much of a scaredy-cat to actually approach anyone?” No, that wasn’t all there was to it. He knew it wasn’t. Didn’t he?
It was hard to remember with it constantly being shoved down his throat. “You’re just not trying hard enough.” “Stop being so anti-social.” “Join a club.” “Make some friends.” “Get involved with a physical activity.”
That was another thing. His parents kept pushing for him to get into a sport of some kind. They’d even signed him up for a few sports at the community center they were members of. No offense to the sports themselves or those who enjoyed them, but it was just too much for Virgil. Close aggressive contact and shouting everywhere. He’d quit as soon as he could much to his parents dismay.
It was at the community center, after a swim in the pool (one of the few activities he liked, though he enjoyed the leisure of swimming and didn’t think he’d enjoy the pressure of a competition), that he saw the flyer. Pole dancing classes free at the community center. Must be sixteen or older to apply without parental permission.
Virgil remembered his father and mother talking about strippers once. The utter condemnation and disgust in their tone. But hey, they were the ones who wanted him to get involved in a ‘physical activity’, right?
Virgil waited quietly until sixteenth birthday, and celebrated by signing up.
His parents had been livid, but there was nothing they could do. Virgil was signed up, and of age to do so himself. They couldn’t cancel his membership until the end of the year. They couldn’t stop him from going, as Virgil had found ways to sneak out years ago (thank you family parties that he’d felt the need to escape from, the only thing those parties had been good for). They just had to deal.
Virgil was relieved when he showed up for the class and only a couple others were there. The class apparently wasn’t too popular. This didn’t seem to bother the teacher, a woman that looked to be in her late twenties or early thirties, and was quite beautiful. Certainly someone Virgil would be attracted to, if he had any interest in women that is.
The teacher’s name was Alina and she was quite laid back. She was fun and personable with the students, staring them off with some basic moves. Virgil picked up on it fairly easily, and enjoyed it far more than he would have thought he would.
The class became his escape. Away from his peers, his parents, his worries He didn’t have to think of what everyone else is doing or if they’re going to affect him at all. He just had to be aware of his own body, his own movement, and his own limits. It was just him and the pole, a steady, unchanging, predictable partner.
He starts showing up for the class early, eager to warm up so he can get right to dancing. It’s on one of these days that he sees Alina dancing her best for the fist time. She is up on the pole, flipping, and spinning, and swinging upside down. It’s entrancing.
He begged the teacher to teach him how to do that. She regretfully informed him that it takes quite a bit of training to have the strength to dance like that. Luckily, Virgil used be in an advanced gymnastics class (until his parents had decided that wasn’t an ‘appropriate’ sport for him) and, while he was a bit rusty, he had kept up his body strength fairly well. Alina offered to let him give it a try.
It was difficult at first. He gained even more respect for the people who dance like this for a living. The strength and flexibility and precision that it took was far beyond what he would have guessed. But he kept at it, coming to class early and staying late to work with Alina. And he got good. Really good. And he loved it. Being up at the top of the pole, close enough to the world to still experience it but up just high enough to be feel above his worries.
He worked as hard as he could, building his arm strength, and his core strength, and his leg strength, until he could flip, and spin, and twirl as good as his wonderful mentor.
His parents had been right when they said a physical activity really could help him, just not for the reasons they thought. He wasn’t cured by any means, but he felt better. And it showed in his attitude, his grades, and just his mindset in general. He had something he felt he was good at could be proud of and provided him an outlet that he desperately needed.
He cried for a week when the end of the year comes and his parents announce that they are cancelling his membership to the center. He went to thank Alina, bringing her some lovely flowers to show his gratitude for all the extra work she put in with him, and regretfully informs her he has to quit coming to class. The surprised teacher immediately wheedles the story out of him. To his absolute shock, after hearing about his parents, she offered to continue teaching him at the club she works at, assuring him no one would be there during the day and she could clear it with her boss no problem.
He insisted she’d be wasting her valuable time as, while he loved dancing, he knows he could never perform for a crowd. She insisted right back at him that as long as it’s making him happy and helping him then it is far from a waste of her time. She wrapped him in a hug as a few tears welled up in his eyes. He doesn’t like to admit just how tightly he hugged her back.
And so that’s what they did. Virgil trained whenever he could with Alina, and eventually of couple of the other club dancers as well, and he kept getting better. And better. And better. The manager of the club even offered him a job a few times once he turned eighteen, somewhat joking (but not really), but Virgil remained steady in the fact that he just can’t perform in front of people.
It was a sad day when he had to go off to college in a city that’s quite a ways away from the club. But he’d gotten a partial scholarship from the school that had really helped, as his relationship with his parents had only degraded as time went on and they hadn’t given him much and what he’d saved wasn’t enough.
He knew almost everyone who worked at the club at that point, and they’d thrown him a going away party. There had been drinks, cake, and he’d been given a new bag for college filled with the dancers’ tips from a couple nights. He’d tried to refuse the money but they’d insisted.
He said his goodbyes to everyone, saving Alina for last. He hugged her tightly as she assured him he’d do great in college and if not, he’d always have his dancing to fall back on, any club would hire him in a heartbeat. He laughed and once again repeated how he could never dance in front of people. She shrugged and gave him a coy look. “You never know.”
But Virgil did know.
Or at least he’d thought he knew.
I know @organizeddiscord wanted to be tagged in this and I think @nightmarejasmine wanted to be tagged as well, actually I think they asked to be tagged twice so @nightmarejasmine lol :P. If anyone else wants to be tagged let me know.

Re-watching Lizzie Mcguire: Episode 1.5 (I’ve Got Rhythmic)
Tumblr media
You know what this moment is? It’s Lizzie about the hit the floor from tripping
- The episode begins with Lizzie approaching the bulletin board to check what her grade is for her school English test; Turns out, Lizzie only got a ‘B’. She gets frustrated because she feels like she’s not amazing at anything when comparing herself to her peers like Gordo who is an aspiring filmmaker and Miranda who is good at arts and crafts.
Lizzie discovers her Talent
- During gym class, Coach Kelly introduces rhythmic gymnastics to the girls and Lizzie and Miranda are not feeling it. As someone who used to do gymnastics at school, I think they’re being too dismissive of the sport. I found it to be really fun and I actually enjoyed playing with the different apparatus.
- Coach Kelly asked the group of students if there is anyone who would like to volunteer and demonstrate some basic gymnastics. Miranda without thinking, blurted out a big fat “NO!” and she was subsequently chosen to demonstrate first. I don’t think I saw Coach Kelly teaching them any moves. So how is Miranda supposed to demonstrate anything? Maybe this wasn’t their first gymnastics class?
Tumblr media
Why did Miranda throw those clubs like that? It’s like she really wanted them to be flung far far away from her
- Miranda is handed a pair of gymnastics clubs and as expected, she flopped really bad. Kate’s next and she hurts herself by dropping one of the sticks on her foot. I did not expect that; She seemed so confident. Lizzie couldn’t contain her laughter and Coach Kelly does not respond to her reaction well and asks Lizzie to use the ribbon in front of the class.
Tumblr media
For the honor of Grayskull! Sorry, I just had to include a She-ra reference in here
- Lizzie shocks everyone by being so graceful and elegant with the ribbon. When watching this episode back then, I think I already knew Hilary Duff had prior training in gymnastics. She could do cartwheels, flips and all the sort.
- Kate who just cannot let Lizzie outshine her asks Coach Kelly if she can be given a second chance to re-do the demonstration to which she agrees and proceeds to ask her to do it again on the spot, with the ribbons this time. Kate flops once again.
Tumblr media
Oh Kate, just give it up! You stink at rhythmic gymnastics
- Coach Kelly who was so impressed by Lizzie’s natural ability persuades her to represent the school in the ‘Rhythmic Gymnastics Regional Competition’. Lizzie isn’t so sure about it but Coach Kelly asks her to take some time to think about it.
A Big Decision to Make
- Lizzie fills in all the details with her best friends and they support her to actually go for it. Side note: the number of times they cut to the scene when Kate hurt her foot is ridiculously funny hahaha. At home, she also asks her parents if she should pursue it to which they give the generic answer of yes because that’s what parents do.
Tumblr media
An athlete’s dream is to appear on a cereal box
- Lizzie proceeds to dream about winning a gold medal in rhythmic gymnastics and even dreams about her picture appearing on a toasted oat meal cereal box. She smiles in her sleep and I believe that is the moment when she is going to go for it for all its glory.
- The next day, Lizzie still reeling from her dream announces to Gordo and Miranda that she made the decision to be a gymnast, which surprises them both as they had mixed feelings about it.
‘Olympic’ Training Montage
- We get a special montage with a surprisingly catchy music track of Lizzie training for the competition. Here are some of my rundowns of what was shown:
1. Lizzie struggles to wake up at 5:00 am and Gordo shakes her to wake her up. Wow, Gordo is fully committed to making this documentary for Lizzie; Waking up before 5:00 am just to go over to her house to film her?! Did he stay over or did Lizzie’s parents let him in lol?
2. Her mom prepares her a cup of several raw eggs to drink. I wouldn’t dare drink it but thank goodness Lizzie poured them onto a pan to fry them. Phew!
3. Lizzie has a one-to-one training session with Coach Kelly. A super intensive one I will say. However, Lizzie seems to be managing pretty well....
Tumblr media
...for the most part
This All Better Be Worth It
- Lizzie is found by her friends in a state of exhaustion and couldn’t bring herself to stay awake. Kate, now with a foot brace, pops up with her posse and delivers this line that is immortalized as a forever popular gif:
Tumblr media
Remember when .coms were included in jokes?
- Gordo burns her good by asking her to repeat what she said into the camera and tells her he’s casting the part of the bitter talentless girl. Oh, snap! Kate is such a pain in this episode. Can’t she just stop being so obsessed with Lizzie being better than her in one thing?
Introducing Larry Tudgeman
- We actually got a mention of Larry in the first episode when he was caught on camera picking his nose and eating his snot by Danny Kessler. But this time, we got to actually see him in the flesh. I actually love Larry; He is kinda like Gordo but only much weirder and nerdier.
- Kate puts on her popular girl charm and asks him to do a little favor for her, which we will find out towards the end of the episode.
- Lizzie is baking cookies at home, which worries Jo because she has noticed that every-time Lizzie bakes, it’s because there is something bothering her. Lizzie tells her mom it’s because she’s stressed about competing but the truth is, she is just not passionate about the sport.
Time to Compete!
- It’s the day of the competition and Lizzie is busy warming up while Gordo is filming her and providing commentary for his documentary. He trips over a pile of gymnastics equipment and accidentally angles his camera up over to the ceiling and catches Larry doing something fishy. Lizzie’s turn is next and she starts her routine.
- He tells Miranda about Larry and they both try to help Lizzie from getting sabotaged by him. During her routine, she does a great job so far but when she tosses the hula hoop up in the air, Larry catches it with a broom. Lizzie froze a little because she did not expect her hoop to disappear but luckily, Gordo with his quick thinking throws Lizzie a ribbon and she continues her routine.
- Larry is then spotted by Miranda, who is armed with a fire-extinguisher and threatens to spray him if he doesn’t drop the hula hoop. He drops it and Lizzie manages to catch it at the right time and finishes her routine strong. Kate is stunned her plan failed.
Tumblr media
Honestly, Kate always seems to get the funniest edit
- She then storms out of the gym and Gordo catches her leaving with his camera and she was basically caught red handed.
Tumblr media
Smile for the camera sunshine
Lizzie’s Confession
- Lizzie wins 1st place despite the setback. That’s a little surprising considering the fact that she just started training for it but amazing job nonetheless.
- Her parents congratulates her for winning the competition but Lizzie confesses to them that she hates rhythmic gymnastics and the only reason she likes it is because she’s good at it. Her parents are supportive of her regardless of her position. Such understanding parents; My parents would have been the opposite.
Overall Thoughts
Tumblr media
- In my opinion, Lizzie suddenly realizing she’s good at rhythmic gymnastics and actually winning 1st place in a regional competition is kind of a one-off plot device thing for Hilary to showcase her gymnastics prowess on Lizzie Mcguire. It’s just not realistic to me but this is fiction and loopholes like that aren’t meant to be analyzed deeply by people like me.
- That being said, I do really like the underlying message presented in this episode, which is we should pursue something we are absolutely passionate in and commit to it. And if we haven’t discovered what our destiny is yet, it’s never too late to figure that out.

“I want to enjoy competitions this season so I can show everyone my healthy form “
Interview with Satoko Miyahara from Figure Skating Team Japan Memorial 2017 that took place around THE ICE: Nagoya back in August. Thanks to @yanablumka for the scans! Please do not use/repost my translations without my permission.
ーYou devoted yourself to rehabilitation in the second half of last season, but what kind of mental state do you have now?
S: My condition is gradually coming back, so I’m looking forward to next season, but I also feel that “I have to properly do my jumps.” I had my body rest for a somewhat long time so I’ll have a late start, but my feelings of wanting to do everything I’m capable of at every competition hasn’t changed from a regular seasons, so I want to do my best.
ーMay I ask about the progression of your injury? Around when did you first start feeling pain and discomfort?
S: The day I left for the Grand Prix Final last year in December. I don’t know the exact cause, but things built up at that time. Or rather, it was because the interval between competitions was very small with NHK - my second GP series event - GPF, and Nationals, and that might have placed a burden on me. This trend happened last season too, so it may have built up from there. And then, I’ve found many things I need to re-assess from a nutritional standpoint, so I think there were various causes.
ーIt feels like your period of rest became longer than expected, but why did that happen?
S: At first, I thought it was a light injury, and that the pain would go away before I realized it. When my performances and practices started, the pain would go away consistently, so I thought “It’s fine.” But the pain didn’t pull back as much as I imagined, so I did an MRI scan a few times.
ーParticipating in competitions while receiving treatments until Nationals was your plan, wasn’t it. Around when did you make the decision to withdraw from competitions?
S: The pain continued after the ice show in January, so we talked about getting another MRI scan to see, and we found that it was a stress fracture. Then, we discussed “What will we do about 4CC?” I could jump even with the pain, so at first I thought “I want to do my best and compete.” But my coaches advised “For next season as well, isn’t it better not to force yourself?” and in reality, the pain was there, so I decided to withdraw from 4CC. After withdrawing from 4CC, I started skating again after about 2 weeks of rehab. I was able to skate mostly without pain at first, but with the process of increasing my practice load little by little, the pain came back again. I thought “I might not make it in time for Worlds” and “It might be impossible,” so I had a discussion with my coaches. They said “There’s no need to force yourself now, right?” and I withdrew [from Worlds].
ーSo you made the decision for next season.
S: Yes. Even though I wanted to participate in Worlds, I didn’t know if I’d be able to skate well with my condition at the time. I was able to become satisfied with my coach's decision of “It’s best to rest with all your might and prepare for next season,”  so I devoted myself to rehab without skating for a month.
ーWhat supported you emotionally while you weren’t skating? S: I wasn’t able to forget about skating, but I thought “For now, I will devote myself to healing my injury” and switched to a positive [way of thinking]. I went to rehab on weekdays and trained at JISS (Japan Institute of Sports Sciences) on Saturdays, but I had a full day of rest on Sundays. I went out to eat with my family, went shopping, and so on. I think it’s good that I was able to do things that I couldn’t while I was submerged in skating.
ーHow much is your practice load right now? S: My practice load is less than what it is during the season, but I’ve mostly returned to it. My leg still hurts sometimes when I’m fatigued, so I’m practicing while watching my physical condition.
ーPlease do so without forcing yourself. I believe your preparations for this season are moving forward, but please tell us about your new programs. S: The short is to SAYURI and the choreography is by Lori Nichol, who chose the song for me. She strongly recommended SAYURI  from the beginning, but I had already decided on Madame Butterfly for the free at that time, so I was a little worried that their images would be redundant. But when I watched the movie, I thought “I want to skate to these songs” from my heart, and we decided on it while discussing which parts of the soundtrack to use.
ーYou have the image of Yamato Nadeshiko, so the songs suit you. [tn: Yamato Nadeshiko is the personification of the ideal Japanese woman] S: When I skated to Miss Saigon, Lori thought that a Japanese song in the same vein would really suit me. I also think songs like Miss Saigon, SAYURI, and Madame Butterfly with an Asian atmosphere that have a passionate narrative are easy to skate to.
ーSo your free to Madame Butterfly is also easy to skate? S: Yes, a part that uses a bit of a piano piece that’s very famous and everyone knows [is hard], but the parts besides that are mostly [easy]. The end is fierce and uses music that expresses tragedy, and it’s a program where you can see the narrative from the beginning to end.
ーThe choreographer is? S: Tom Dickson. Coach Tom really likes [songs with an] Asian atmosphere and Japanese mood. The choreography is complex, but it’s very fun when I’m skating.
ーSAYURI and Madame Butterfly are both about love, but how do you want to portray each woman? S: I want to establish the final image as “a strong woman,” but SAYURI is a story about a strong woman who pushes her way towards a single goal, so she has the image of a woman who sticks to her own principles. Madame Butterfly thinks of her companion until the end, and she tragically commits suicide without her feelings changing, so I want to perform the ups and downs of her emotions.
ーCurrently, which one is easier to incorporate your emotions into? S: I put in about the same emotion, and they are both easy to skate to.
ーWhich one do you think resembles you more? S: In terms of the protagonist of the story, SAYURI might be closer to me, but I want to do my best and aim to be a woman who has a strong will.
ーI believe the image of a woman who fights with a strong will is becoming one of your specialties. S: A woman who has fighting spirit burning inside of her even if it’s not visible is difficult [to portray], but I want to convey it through my choreography.
ーWhat about costumes? They both have the image of a kimono, don’t they. S: I’ve only decided that the SP costume will have long sleeves and the FS costume will have no sleeves, so I still don’t know how they will turn out. This time (at THE ICE: Nagoya), I will wear a dress with a design I thought of myself. It doesn’t really have the image of a kimono, but it has the image of a traditional Japanese style.
ーWe’re looking forward to it. Your goal for this season is? S: I’ve had a later start than any season until now, and I still have to watch the condition of my injury while practicing, so I want to see through what I’m capable of at that moment.
ーThis is about training at JISS, but did you intermingle with athletes of other sports? S: There were athletes who did various sports, and I became friends with around 10 of them (laughs). Sakura Noshitani, who’s the same age as me, from rhythmic gymnastics, Mikoto Tsunemi from judo, Makoto Hasebe from soccer, Eri Tosaka from wrestling, other athletes from softball or basketball - we trained together, ate together, and so on. They looked at the amount I ate and said “that’s not enough,” though (laughs).
ーWere those athletes also there for rehab? S: Everyone was doing rehab. There were a lot of people with ACL injuries, but there was an environment where you could do your best because everyone was there. That aspect was heartening.
ーYou had voice training while doing rehab, right? S: Yes (laughs). The lessons were for the experience, so just a little. I only went two times.
ーWhy did you want to try voice training? S: I had quite a bit of free time and I wanted to try something different, so I did it (laughs).
ーWhat was the content of the lessons? S: They look at how I used my voice on my own, and the actual lesson started with how to use my voice. I learned deep diaphragmatic breathing and shallow chest breathing. It was one-on-one with my teacher and I, so I was able to do it with all my might without reluctance (laughs).
ーWere you able to take a breather during rehab? Did you watch TV or anything like that? S: I’ve never really had the habit of watching TV, but recently, I put it on just a little. I like Shabekuri 007 (laughs). Also, Sanma-san is funny (laughs). I almost never watch dramas. [tn: Shabekuri 007 is a talk show. Akashiya Sanma is a comedian]
ーDo you bring the dramatic atmosphere during your performances into you through reading? S: Well, I read a lot of books before, but recently I’ve been watching a lot of movies and theater and listening to music. I thought it would be better to absorb [the atmosphere] in various ways, so I watch movies and such on my days off now.
ーWhat’s an especially good one [you watched] recently? S: I watched various movies, and they were all good (laughs). Maybe SAYURI. Also, I thought it might be good to become familiar with pieces often used in skating like Moulin Rouge. I also watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which Medvedeva used. I watched The Intouchables and various others too (laughs).
ーThat’s a somewhat unexpected side of you (laughs). Thank you very much. Finally, please give a message to your fans. S: In the second half of last season, I got injured and had to withdraw from competitions, but I want to enjoy competitions this season so I can show everyone my healthy form and do my best to see through what I am capable of at each moment. I’m counting on you for this season too.

"not at all, i actually wanted to be someone completely different. my parents were shocked i wanted to pursue this lifestyle, but there were supportive. they liked that i was happy.”
nine. why did you decide to become a trainee?
"i was approached after a gymnastic competition and given a card too. i had no experience with singing beforehand so i was hesitant, but i think i wanted a new experience, something to add to a list of accomplishments. i didn’t really want to be an idol until i actually began training.”
ten. where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?
“as nyx’s leader, i would love for nyx to still be going strong in the industry; releasing music together, just being who we are and having fun. i hope that we’d be closer than ever despite so much time together, as they’re my sisters and i love them. as a personal goal, i think i’d like to try dabbling with something completely new for me. i’m not sure what it is yet, but i love new experiences.”

fourteen. if you weren’t pursuing the path to fame, where do you think you would be?
"i am confident that i would be on the south korean olympics team for gymnastics and win a gold medal ! i was really close to joining the olympic team, so i like to think that had i not become a trainee and continued being a gymnast, i might’ve been able to achieve that goal or something close to it. either way, it’d be a blessing.”
