been having some thinky thoughts today, and for a while, rly, abt my Feelings abt breathing underwater and i tried to type something up on twitter but that jsut was not letting me think my thoughts correctly

i love BU........... so goddamn much. it started out as nothing more than a silly idea abt little mermaid ed meeting stede and kind of ballooned into what ive built it up into today. it's so important to me... but it's making me a little miserable right now?

miserable because i dont want to work on it, but i WANT TO want to work on it, i want to tell this story and read the finished product, ive got so many ideas, but i just. cannot get myself to do the actual WORK of making sentences and then staging all the pics........... what used to be a fun little pastime now feels like a chore, an obligation, a compulsion almost. it sucks, but it sucks more NOT doing it, you know what i mean? idk.

i know ive built it up into this big THING to myself, like... idk, i do this so often, i have big ideas and love to plan and organize them and then i get going with such intensity until i abruptly fizzle out. i start things and dont finish them, and i guess i just rly dont want this to be another thing that gets thrown on my unfinished projects pile :/

i have the next 2 parts drafted, but every time i go back to poke at them and edit them i just get so disheartened because it's obvious that my heart wasn't really in writing them, and it's difficult to salvage a rough draft like that. part of me wants to just delete those parts entirely and say fuck it im taking an indefinite hiatus, and i will start fresh when this is fun again! which would probably be the best thing, actually, but... i am reluctant to do that, because i just dont have anything else to rly fill my time rn.

i havent been getting a lot of joy out of... anything, rly, for a long time now, im so bored and apathetic and even my normal go to things arent cutting it anymore. and idk if it's a depression thing or if im truly outgrowing some interests, but either way i know i need to get more Things in my life somehow, because writing and sims are my two biggest pastimes, and then i combined them, and then i got sick of both so ive got so little to go on! so i keep poking at the things that i used to love, hoping to find that spark again 😪 i love these little guys and their little world!!! and it makes me sad that im not actually having Fun with the PROCESS.

it doesn't help that i am constantly torn between man i wish more ppl read my fic!!! i work so hard on it!! and man i never want anyone to perceive me or my writing ever it's so amateur!! idk what i want and idk what i want to DO about it!!

so, idk!! idk where this is all going, lol, i just... wanted to try and organize these thoughts somehow.

trying to reason w myself that at the end of the day, i am writing a fanfiction. that's it. it's not that big of a deal, and yet it feels huge to me, somehow. I don't wanna let down the ppl who are reading it, and i dont wanna let myself down again, either.

BUT it's not supposed to make me feel miserable it is supposed to be fun i am lowkey crying rn because like urghghghgh why isnt it fun?!!?!

so. i think i gotta do some more thinking, because not making any kind of decision is making things worse! and idk, if all of this hasnt put u off of the idea of my fic, here is the series page lmfao i could use some encouragement i guess......

but i am going to seriously put more thought into an official hiatus, because i think i am getting Too preoccupied with it again and it's messing with me!!!

i actually had a decent time doing those kitty ed pics today, even tho they didn't do so hot, so maybe i am just gonna try to focus on that kind of thing, doing stuff that actually catches my attention, and also doing things without the intention of sharing them at all. allowing things to be messy. i get so caught up in the thought of someone else seeing my work that i paralyze myself trying to make it PERFECT.

i had a decent time doing that oneshot from ed's pov as well. so maybe i need to work on projects that are a bit smaller scale. i dont have to say goodbye to BU stuff forever, but i am just so ALL OR NOTHING that it feels like a way bigger decision than it actually is 😓

so i guess....... im gonna sleep on it for a while. think about it and try and come to a firm decision. because if i take a break, i need to REALLY take a break, which includes not thinking about it all the time and constantly beating myself up for not doing it 😅

hello, no bother at all <3 i honestly am still pretty noobish when it comes to rendering, i started back in june 2023 but i am getting better as i go a long so thank you for the compliment! i dont use hair nodes actually, it's usually the skin material i use from missatan! i can always make a video on how i render if thats something you'd like to see (: the lighting is super simple, i usually only ever use points or area and mess around the the strength and color of it! a lot of times i will use the sun and tone it down, it really helps with having the atmosphere ngl. most times i wont have an extremely prominent light otherwise it loosens the skin texture i like to achieve. the colour of the lighting always depends on the setting of the scene i go for, so most times i will use a yellowish tone for my lighting points! it also depends on the scene you are using, i find having a less exposed scene makes your render look so much more better, but thats all depending on how you like your renders to turn out tbh! another tip is to use dof, it really helps when trying to make your render look way better. i usually add a plain axe and make that the focus object and prop it to my sim. the key to a good render is to learn a long the way honestly, i still have no clue what im doing half the time lol but i've switched from cycles to eevee, its IMPACTED so much! the second image was my first ever render i attempted just over a year ago lol, it's all about knowing what you want to achieve honestly :3 here is a video i did on my recent render however, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDOyYX8xrVk&t=1s

I feel like, like how in MH, it'd be better for now to treat them like two separate characters with their own memories and mannerisms

With that in mind, I haven't actually seen MH in a long, long time, so I may be getting things wrong so bare with me

Obviously if you and Masky meet up somehow, Tim won't really remember

But I feel like if he did find out that you knew, and interacted with his masked counterpart, he'd be upset

Look I love Masky but the dude is scary n dangerous

When they come home, you tend to any wounds they may have gotten, regardless of if it's Tim or Masky

Before you were filled in on everything you just thought Tim got into fights or fell over when he came home with bruises n cuts

the urge to delete my entire blog consumed me suddenly. thankfully I did not listen to that urge today.

I've been working on a new skin and genetics so I really want to update my sim style (again) but I think what I really mean is starting all over, but i don't think I can let go of some of my fav ocs so lets see how I deal with that. I want to show more of myself and stop holding back, I hate the people pleasing part of myself that seems to have taken over. I want to fucking make content for myself. If I share it, good, if people like it; great. no more self doubt. I want blood, gore, surrealist chaos and i want to mix that in with the cute shit that I make. I miss the saruin that woke up and decided to make vomit or trypophobia inducing cc and just did it without doubt or hesitation.

also in deleting posts I was able to read asks from a year ago and see all of the interaction that I used to have on this site. I didn't realize how many of my mutuals deactivated or just left the site (out of site out of mind i guess) it was really bittersweet and i miss all the people that are gone (wow not to make it sound like they're dead -_-;) I was also able to see posts from people I don't follow anymore lol don't meet your heroes. The good and the bad, I miss it. the interactions was what made me stay on tumblr after being so apprehensive about signing up. Now sometimes it feels like I'm just another fart in the wind.

man i had to stare at my mdl completed list for a while to decide this, but i'll preface that these top 5 are here both bc i have such a strong emotional connection with them and bc i want to scream about how actually good they are from a rooftop (also not ranked bc thats too hard):

utsukushii kare - don't know else i can make it clear how beloved and special this show is to me. an excellent story across both seasons and the movie with even better mains that are characterised to perfection, develop in the most beautifully human way and are performed brilliantly. and if i think about this show any longer and remember its over i will break so moving on

old fashioned cupcake - it was one thing to give me a bl starring THE og kageyama stage play actor bc those things were my life during the height of my anime phase, but to then have it be this good?? the story is beautiful, the fact they manage to do so much with such little run time amazes me, and to this day it has the most romantic line in any bl that always gives me goosebumps when i watch it. and i dont wanna talk like im that old, im only 25, but as someone who's barely had anything you can call a romantic experience, this show left me with the warmest sense of hope and comfort that beautiful love stories aren't reserved for high schools, and its never too late to find happiness

blueming - i havent rewatched this one in a while, or much at all, but i'll never forget the visceral response i had when i binged it all in one night. i adore the fact that this is just the gentlest story of 2 people falling in love and finding comfort in each other and just how naturally and simply it happens, and i think its portrayal of that specific family dynamic is phenomenal, bc for me at least its as much about that family being in the process of healing as it is about the love story, and the fact they go hand in hand is even better

bad buddy - what else is there to say. for the 12 weeks it aired, i ate, slept and breathed this show. literally did not even think about anything else. and this show has rightly been praised to the moon and back but as well as all that, its always gonna be special for me bc of the people and community i found and shared the watching experience with. what can i say, you just had to have been there, and im so glad i was

the eighth sense - surprisingly this was my last pick and i was debating swapping it for a few others, but it ultimately stays bc of how refreshing and how much of an emotional rollercoaster it was. i haven't ever brought myself to rewatch it, but i can vividly remember how enraptured i was by the sheer amount of tension they managed to create in those initial episodes, and how well they managed to maintain it. and i hope people take note of how much people loved its artful and kinda raw vibe and become inspired to do something similar bc i think it gives great balance to the genre (and i also, clearly, love it, just look at these pics. i promise i do love fun and silly stuff too)

12. most rewatched bl

i was debating putting this on my list but ultimately, while not being my absolute favourite, its my definition of a comfort show and that is my dating sim. idk what it is about the show, but ever since it came out i go back to it at the very least monthly. i think its the fact that when im really craving a good bl, it manages to not only hit all my favourite tropes (unrequited but secretly requited love, reuniting and digging up the past, that initial clash gives me a lil bit of enemies to lovers, plus it has enough fluff to make me all warm and giddy), but it also does them so well, and the story is so perfectly simple and succinct that i feel so content when the whole thing is over. truly the perfect show for when i wanna do nothing and feel happy.

unsurprising but yes, it still is the bad buddy rooftop kiss. i dare not watch this kiss bc i know if the weakness ever overtakes me i will fall into a void that i will not escape for at least a week. and honestly, while there has been some good competition, idk if she'll ever be beaten, and idk if thats bias talking or just the objective truth, but i encourage all bl's to keep giving it their bests shot

my model simmies are my two original characters that i'm obsessed with :'-) i think i created them like.. almost a decade ago, and they've been slowly evolving over the years. right now i have a little """canonical""" story i've been picking at that's set in the current day, but tbh my favorite thing to do is chuck them into whatever Thing i'm obsessed with at the moment to make an alternate universe for them, lol.

for example, with dragon age veilguard coming out this year, i'm WAY back into the swing of like... Fantasy Worlds, so i've been rolling around an au where aleksei is a knight or a lord or whatever, and nick is a prince or betrothed or somesuch, and now i have something to think about instead of focusing while i'm at work.

ANYWAY, all that to say is that i don't have much to share about them without chucking like a 6k word essay about them onto my dash 🤣 but the ~canonical basics~ are that aleksei is a pro athlete (thus the large bigness) and nick was a college student when they met (total meetcute). and they've been happily in love ever since because i made them to be perfect for each other. my little barbies... i've been slowly redecorating their home in sims, so i hope i can share some rooms soon!!

experience in RP — Coming up on 17 or 18 years I think? From starting out on forums to avatar games to MMOs, and now I'm primarily writing here on tumblr though there's a bit of forum and tiny amounts of discord tossed in. But the latter feels off to me. I always prefer more public venues with opportunities for sharing and prompting random questions and meeting new people.

best experiences — Here on tumblr, I'd say. I've met some great people and have come through with probably the best characterization some of these muses have ever seen. Won't get into anything too specific, but suffice to say I've kept some people around for yeeeeears for a reason!!

pet peeves / dealbreakers — I've got so many I'm worried for myself. But aside from the obvious lack of response or enthusiasm, unanswered memes and starters, it would be this: People that come to you for writing (repeatedly) while contributing nothing to the plotting or selection process. Anytime someone looks at you and waits for you to paint a picture of an interaction through a roster of muses and genres and then set it up while going "I dunno" to any question asked?

Guhhhh!!! Give me a break!!! RP is a two person activity. Especially when I barely know your characters. Try and sell something to me!

Another thing that's gotten to me in recent years is an over-use of meta commentary and referential humor. I do this sparingly with Wylan, but too much and you feel like you're on an episode of family guy instead of writing a scene or interaction.

muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ) — I am... an adventure and action and banter kind of guy. Which doesn't really fall under any of these categories. However, the preference would be fluff. Feel good stuff or anything that makes you smile. Angst, I'm not great at, and I've realized I don't care for it when it's sad or angsty for the sake of being sad. Give it purpose, give it a resolution of some kind. I don't much care for bad ends.

As for smut... I'm mixed. I like writing it but after giving it a shot again have accepted I don't much care for things after foreplay if it's in a thread. Headcanons that are lewd? Yes. Answering lewd/nsfw asks? Yes. But the back and forth is kind of eh.

plot or memes — I like adlibbing. And I like improv now and then. There's a pitfall depending on the writing partner with plotting- and it's that you just talk about the plot and the end instead of letting it develop and having things happen. There should be some room for surprises and twists that nobody was expecting. Laying out the whole timeline piece by piece can remove the enthusiasm to.... write it!

Memes are a great way to get started with everyone, especially the situation prompts since it's a little more flexible. I find myself less enthused with contextless sentence prompts lately. And I may start reblogging less of those and letting the more fun ones get a spotlight.

long or short replies — Mixed. I can't novella on command anymore, but depending on the interaction my fingers do get away from me on lengths and what have you. Overall I prefer something in the middle. 400ish words feels comfortable, and conveys enough information without conversations stacking on top of each other. The longer a post goes the more often that seems to happen. And you can get into temporal errors where situations change on past conversations that happened in the same post and.!??!?!? Yeah.

I also do enjoy the occasional banter of one liners and shitposting. But it'll never be the focus of this blog. And is almost guaranteed to get longer over time to the point that it becomes a multi-para thread.

best time to write — When I'm not busy at the office. Quiet space with less things to distract me. I can get into a good productive mindset really fast and knock out multiple drafts in an hour. Feels great. Otherwise I think it's early mornings where I do the best on days off. Evenings are times of distraction, so much distraction.

are you like your muse — I put a little bit of myself in all my muses, otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to relate and make a convincing portrayal or conflict. Wylan used to have a lot more of my traits in the past. But he is far and above his own problematic beast now and I'm glad I don't have as much in common anymore jfc.

i think it's because i'm already used to waking up early... even tho i'm a very sleep deprived student that sleeps at 12-1 and wakes up at 5 😔 i'm fairly a light sleeper so no matter what time i sleep, whenever my alarm goes off i'm always up by the second 🥲

and LMAOO i've played a ton of those wish sims to prevent myself from rolling whenever i'm saving up for a character, it works wonders

SGHDEGHCFH MYSTERY MY BELOVED YOU ARE SO DEAR

Ikr romance is sooooo confusing!! The way people talk about it, the fantasy and the soulmate and the butterflies etc etc etc have never made sense to me. I feel like it really obscures the true nature of this feeling and muddles the understanding of our emotions.

I don't know how much help I'll be, but I'll do my best! I think a lot of my early aromanticism really was this sense of questioning: what even is romance? What makes it different from friendship? I've always felt a bit of disconnect from the concept, and whenever I did associate it with me, I would literally push it to future as something that I would confront when I was "mature" enough. Turns out, most people don't experience romance as the ultimate marker of maturity! They get crushes as kids, they feel puppy love, they entangle themselves into all kinds of drama because of a wayward heart (allegedly)! For lots of people, the emotion of romance isn't an option they can choose or unchoose, it just happens to them. If that's not something you relate to, you might be aromantic.

It's all very very confusing though, and you don't need to have a straight (hah) answer...ever! Tbh, sometimes I still struggle with the idea of romance, although nowadays I realize a lot of it stems from my fear of isolation and the shapeless desire to be treated as an important fixture of someone's life. And that's not inherently romantic. Relationships are so beautiful and complex, and every one you form will be entirely unique. So if you can't pin yourself down, don't fret! Just do what feels best and most fulfilling to you, communicate and connect with people as you wish, and explore the many ways joy can be shared! You've got so much life and potential, and in the grand beauty of your existence, this confusion may eventually become a drop in the pond.

Here are some thoughts you could consider that might clarify some of your emotions though:

Have you ever had a crush? This might seem like a simple question, but oftentimes aros/aspecs confuse the desire for close relationships/the amatanormative pressure to HAVE crushes with crushes themselves.

Imagine being in a romantic relationship with someone. How would you feel if other people looked at you two and interpreted you as dating? How would you feel if your partner themselves saw your relationship as a romantic couple?

Do you like or relate to romances in media, particularly with well-written romances? Even when a romance has lots of enjoyable chemistry and the partnership makes sense, I still feel a sense of disconnect from the story when romance occurs. The experiences these plotlines represent are not ones I relate to.

Lastly, and this one might be very very me-specific, but how do you feel about dating sims? Personally, I really enjoy dating sims, but I get very annoyed when the protagonists start getting romantic, even though it's literally what I signed up for! It's the aromantic in me shining through lol. I just want everyone to be friends.

here's one of my favorite sims, kyra :P

she's reeeally awkward. During game tournaments she usually barely uses vc, she used to crack some atrociously unfunny jokes, and she was humbled each and every time... The only two people who are truly comfortable with and are used to her awkwardness and her inability to pick up on social cues are her best friends Salem and Benson, and her sister, Lea. They consider themselves as the best trio ever and Salem loves her dry, corny jokes.

Oswald (its a rlly goofy name im sorry) is the landlord of where lea and kyra live. Before her grandparents passed, she would visit them in Copperdale with her dad. He they weren't close but she had interacted with him pretty frequently since he lived on the bottom floor and was friends with her grandparents. After running away with her sister, Oswald accepted them with open arms, and they would often celebrate holidays together. He gave them the upstairs apartment where their grandparents used to live in, and although it's in poor condition, she considers it home than just a place to stay.

Kyra's childhood was really confusing and messy because of her mom's erratic behavior and her father's passive demeanor. Even though her mother is family oriented, her narcissism and struggle with regulating her emotions, has strained Kyra's relationship with Kyra. In one of her mother's fits of rage, years of pent up rage and frustration lead Kyra to gather everything she could, along with Lea, and run away. Since then, Kyra has been doing her best to protect Lea from the painful past. Lea doesn't remember much, but she has a sense of longing for her mother. Once in a blue moon, their father, torn btwn his his inability to confront his wife's destructive behavior and loyalty to his kids, comes to visit and provides them with clothes or leftover food, but he's the only one who knows where they are, being the only shackle to the life they left behind.

Kyra currently works at a local coffee shop, also taking a few odd jobs here and there to make a quick buck. Her coworkers are Lou Howell and Vanesha Cahyaputri. Her and jacob don't really get along too. everytime they're on a shift together he's never on the register to make sure he doesn't steal any money. He likes to poke fun at her whenever he's bored because of her slow, and pretty pathetic (😭) comebacks. She's on good term's with Vanesha due to the fact they both have immigrant parents where they'll share stories they laugh/gossip about together during their lunch break.

Kyra's also saving up to major in computer science and aspires to become a game dev and implement her and her sister's drawing skills to design the characters and other thingamajigs. They go to the library or the boba shop to whenever they can to catch up and talk about their dream game. Salem and Kyra struck up a conversation with a musician performing at the romance festival, (where Kyra also got played by Akira Kibo but that's a whole 'nother thing…) Benson, and he quickly became apart of their friend group. As they hung out more, he soon got tangled in her with her love and passion for this game, and wants to help that game come to fruition and be a music composer for her game.

Hello Love, I list the hairs in the picture order and from left to right like it says listed in the collections. These are just older hairs that have been updated with the swatches and minor fixes. So it shouldn't be too hard to navigate.

I checked the afro puffs for curiosity and they were 48k poly, it is insanely high for hair. I want to be able to use your hair but with each hair being so high poly I really can't keep a lot of them in game, and I'm lucky that my computer and game are able to support at least a small bunch of them, there's people whose specs don't allow them to install such heavy content. I honestly can't see a reason why a maxis match hair is so high in polygons.

The reason why some of the hairs are on the higher poly side of things is because some if not most elements are made from scratch and also I make more intricate details and I decimate the meshes as much as I can without trying to compromise the integrity of the initial mesh. But this is why I always preface the people downloading and the patrons who pledge to me to check the specs of your computer. Not all of my cc is high poly but sadly If i want my content to look the best It comes at a smaller cost of vertices and poly count.
