Cool card fact: the spade suit is most closely associated with the swords suit from the minor arcana in tarot decks! So that’s what Jevil’s talking about there. The suit of swords is also associated with nobility and military, the element of air, and reason and intellect. None of that’s terribly relevant, but. Now you know. ✨learning✨

Surely Lancer must have been to the basement before, right? He grew up in the castle, and while it’s a pretty big castle, it’s not THAT big. And he’s a curious little kid. So I imagine something like this happening at some point, where Lancer is swept away by one of his dads before he can help Jevil escape.

Side note, but do the other suit kings have children? Are all the other jacks lost somewhere? Or just not relevant, like the queens? Or for that matter, why is there only 1 (or maybe 3? How do we count Clover) character for the entire clubs suit?
