Ngl was thinking about this whilst drawing some toh au stuff while watching doctor who in the background but I really feel like Pip would really be into the toh version of doctor who.

no idea what it would be called tho in the owl house but Pip’s into it for obvious reasons of sci-fi but also occasionally randomly fantasy?? show, which has chaotic mess of lore that makes no sense whatsoever (I say this with extreme love tho) and has a main character who’s a mad genius and criminal who stole a time machine and ran away to explore the universe and time which I feel meshes very well into what Pip would enjoy

Like I don’t see him enjoying space frontier as it’s pretty much Star Trek and that show has an really optimistic grand view of the future, it focus mostly on the good of people as a whole and that anything can be achieved if people work together and put their minds to it, I can see why Hunter and Gus would enjoy it which I find really sweet and adorable

On the other hand Doctor who has a very complex but pessimistic view on people/the universe, it mainly focuses on the crazy situations that a lonely alien on who’s constantly running away but desperately trying their best at all times to either atone for what they did in the past or to help people across time and space which I think Pip would find more interesting and relatable.

He’d also probably think that all the historical stuff in doctor who is real and that Britain is just constantly getting invaded by aliens.

Funniest thing though about him discovering Doctor who is Pip finally learning what a British person is, and that he’s got a British accent himself as I’m pretty sure there’s literally no one on the boiling isles other than Belos and Pip have that accent so he wondered where it’s from.

Pip also enjoys this show even more because time travel is a concept in toh, soooooooo the guy is just itching to figure out how to make a real Tardis, the only thing stoping him is that he’s in the human realm and in the demon realm the titan themselves was like “nope not even risking it” and decided to never allow him to be able to find a time pool again (he was apart of the events of elsewhere and elsewhen along side Luz and Lilith… it was awkward between him and Philip to say the least but it was more on Pips part because he was like” holy shit is he an older me?? Or my great great- something?? grandad what is going on???” So he didn’t know how to react to that and neither did Luz who was like yep they’re related, and Philip was like “what a strange hooded kid, I didn’t know that demons could mimic accents and appearances so well, I should be stay wary of that abomination and slay it when I have the time”. Oh yeah Pip does almost get killed but Lilith springs into action and does the badass punch to stop Philip. Ngl I’ll have to draw this as a comic at some point because it’s interesting to imagine/draw)

As well I had some ideas of him in thanks to them dressed up in a nerdy doctor cosplay which I found fun but idk if that’ll end up being what I draw him as for his Halloween costume, all three were picked because they all had similar Pip personality wise and I feel like he would relate most to these three in particular;

Like Pip, 10 is pretty much a wild card personality wise depending on the situation he can either be a sad destructive arrogant bastard with a slight god complex who takes matters into his own hands because he believes that he’ll make the right decision without thinking about the consequences or be a lonely silly guy who rambles a lot and is always running around and just wants to have fun.

1 is a grumpy trickster that has strong opinions about right and wrong, he also appears rude or uncaring but actually cares a lot and is the guy who ran away and stole a fucking time machine. He and 14 (14 is basically a mature 10 but I was tempted to go with him instead of 10 but he doesn’t have the ego problem so 10 it was lmao) fought a god like being that’s from another dimension thats obsessed with playing games.

4 is a bit of an odd ball though, he’s the weirdest doctor out of the bunch. He’s pretty silly, but at times he’s shifts into being quite callous and broody but still has a heart of gold. As well as 4 seems to struggle a lot in acting human as he’s pretty distant, aloof and alien at points, he even emphasises a lot throughout his run how he’s not human. Which I feel Pip would find extremely relatable as well as enjoying 4’s adventurist spirit and his extreme hatred of authority.

I think 4 is Pips favourite so he’d most likely cosplay as him during thanks to them.

Omg almost completely forgot to mention but I didn’t add his scar on purpose, he’s used illusion magic to remove it to make the cosplay more accurate and because his curse at that point is showing more physically on his body at this point in season 3 (he goopy 😔) and I can imagine it’s hard to explain to people in public why you a rotting infected looking green scar across your face and an even worse looking arm that’s weirdly proportioned to your body.

gort and political views (and uh. gender?) hcs ramble…

(cw for discussions of ableism and transphobia)

while obviously a technoautocrat fascist and just very far-right in general with the majority of his followers being somewhere in that field as well as a result, using many tactics of those ideologies like instilling fear and terror and chaos in the population he comes in to “fix” (though i believe he sees this as more of a. “only making what is already there more obvious” thing. awful) and many more, he is a genius master manipulator who would ultimately utilise everything to sway as many people as he can since that’s what matters in the end. maybe even slyly changing talking points per speech & crowd that is attending…

though i don’t think he shares some views that are commonly associated with that. while he will certainly utilise these talking points for manipulating and/or hurting people, for someone who judges “people” (they’re not people to him) solely based on the factor of usefulness, i can’t see him being genuinely racist, misogynistic, transphobic since those things usually don’t affect your usefulness. a different story with disabled people since they most likely will not be able to perform labour as well as others, so to me, he is very horrifically ableist.

though. he is also very much the machine conquering the world and shaping it after his image which is a process that takes everyone’s “malfunction/urges”/free will away so they are either his tools or. well. dead/nothing if they don’t comply, so i could also see him being like. yeah the flesh form is weak and will ultimately be conquered, but he can recognise that someone was assigned female/male/intersex at birth. changing that based on what to him is malfunction/a feeling? that’s even more illogical. but again usually doesn’t impact usefulness so he just puts a pin in it. “conquer later” lmao

also can everyone be chill for a seccy now. this is why i see him as agender. he obviously doesn’t call himself that but as in uh. what his view towards the whole thing actually is. fully recognises that he was assigned male at birth and doesn’t care to change any characteristics of that (probably preferring things like being generally bigger, easier muscle/strength building for his work as a blacksmith/mechanic or just. fights or intimidating people in general, and no periods though. again it’s all about usefulness to him) but his body is ultimately a flesh suit puppeted and utilised by his core (the machine) and also he finds the entire concept of gender entirely illogical.

SLK or Spider/Kiri/Lo'ak Headcanons

idk what these will be about tbh i’m just writing as i think of stuff lmao

Kiri had a phase where she was convinced she was a witch because everywhere she went an animal would just waddle up to her

Spider, Lo’ak and Jake talk to babies like they’re grown people, like no baby talk and it’s hilarious

Lo’ak was once holding a baby, and you know how you hold them high in the air and they’re above you? Yea they were having a moment and then the little creature threw up all over his shirt and started giggling right after

“Dude seriously? we were having a moment wtf” it took everything in him not to just drop the baby

Lo’ak would copy everything Jake did as a kid, his lil mini me fr

Lo’ak’s first words were either dad or Teyam

Spider and Lo’ak both have severe anger issues and lord knows what would happen if they ever turned on eachother abt that anger

Lo'ak is always reprimanded about the things he does, gets yelled at and gets in trouble in situations where he isn't truly at fault. Authority figures never let him explain himself and always assume he's lying or trying to makes excuses and they expect him to just take it and move on. He does, but all that annoyance and anger at a situation he can't help tends to come back up a lot.

With Spider on the other hand, adults can never seem to shut up with their backhanded comments,

"you're nicer than i thought you'd be considering your dad"

"Oh wow you're so smart I didn't think you'd get it'

"You look just like him" (in a bad way)

"Oh you're good at this, who would've thought"

All this stuff and he can't really say anything because he'd be proving them right. So he stays silent, doesn't argue back and boy does he hate it.

One time Neytiri made a comment on the wrong day at the wrong time and he honestly considered violence before he just silently walked out of the room. He definitely punches and breaks stuff but he tries to restrain himself which adds to the pent up anger

They've both used that anger on their bullies, Spider broke the guys nose and dislocated his shoulder by pulling it up his back and making him promise to never show his face again

Lo'ak just went straight to the punches, broke the dudes nose and left him slack jawed

So if you ever catch them in a slightly off mood and you even try to talk to them or act any sort of way, you're getting sent to the nurse. I'm sorry i don't make these rules

Kiri is the mediator, she doesn't want to be but she sometimes ends up being the most rational because when she's upset, anger isn't her default unlike the other two

Lo'ak collects comic books, Jake started the obsession and he went wild. Have a comic or manga you wanna borrow? Vintage or not it's probably in his room somewhere

Spider is a math genius, the formulas are just free balling in his head and it makes it easy for him.

He's also a literature enthusiast but has a hard time expressing his own ideas on paper, great public speaker though

Lo'ak definitely over analyzes his favorite characters, gets sad and cries silently abt it

Kiri is an all around science nerd, she goes to class just because she enjoys helping out w hands on science stuff, most of the content isn't new for her

Kiri despises chemistry, she understands it but finds it uninteresting. Ofc biology and botany are where it’s at

All language nerds

All great at physical education, i mean like the actually science behind the body, they have all the muscle names memorized etc

Kiri is their little jewel, Lo’ak especially, he tries to make it the least obvious but Spider definitely tells her how much Lo’ak cherishes her

Spider is very open with his affections, he just doesn’t feel the need to hide it, they live that loves that about him

Spider and Neteyam know how to cook a mean meal, put them in a kitchen together and you’re literally drooling at the smell

Spider is a spicy food enthusiast right along with Jake and Neytiri

Kiri has had a cat for 4 years, Jake has only known for 2 years because he used to be terrified of them and Kiri didn’t want him to freak out

He now carries said cat like it’s his mini purse

but ………….. after that. like. i’m thinking maybe you stay the night and he lets you sleep in his bed (maybe crawls in beside you if you ask for it bc you’re just really in need of stability and he’s far too eager to give it to you), and then you wake up and he’s making you breakfast and just kinda. casually lets you know that he’s gonna Talk to your partner. your ex partner. because if there’s one thing he refuses to budge on, it’s the fact that you’re breaking up with this idiot whether you like it or not. that’s the One thing where he doesn’t even hear you out, he’s not having it, you deserve to be happy and no one is allowed to hinder that.

and so he Talks to them <3333 and by talk i mean he very calmly but firmly tells them never to contact you again, and that if he sees them try they’re dead. (is he just trying to scare them? does he mean it? who knows who knows but what matters is that it works and you dont hear from them again <33)

i just really think this whole scenario makes something inside of him snap. i think that silent fury bubbles up every time he sees you question your worth, every tear you shed because of it. suguru is just so empathetic yknow? it tears him apart inside. makes him want to throw up.

and ohh god forbid you got trust issues after the whole cheating thing… i think that’s probably when he’d confess because he’d quite literally rather die than have to watch you go through the same thing with some other idiot. he really, genuinely, sincerely doesn’t trust anyone but himself to love you enough.

smut fic so crazy i have to document my thoughts no matter how incomprehensible. (delusion below)

that kind of love is delicious. but idk where to start... theres so much to say.. but i guess ill do it level by level like in the novel? nah, i think i will do it randomly..

but of course, what i like the most was the way the 'game' is set. where ritsuka could get one favor/help from oberon each level in the dungeon. but the condition is that he won't be by her side unless she calls for him to help her. which is seriously??? makes me insane. iirc she had a line where she said while in the 2nd or 3rd floor (i think) that "It's almost as if Oberon wants me to depend on him..." the dynamic is making me throw up from so much excitement. i also like how he made her vocal about what she wants www even if she got assaulted by tentacles or that one lewd mors (which was honestly creative lmao like jp fandom is a genius ww), the half-helplessness she feels pushed her into calling for his name (sometimes with those sighs 😉) and request for help from the 'torture' she 'suffered' from.

ALSO theres that midsummer night's dream title that changed from D to EX like that was really hot asfkjdghlk like assimilation with oberon.. later turns into being the same as him and her soul fully belonging to him as his mate. ritsuka's body is remade to be the same as him like sdkjbskjdfgjkf

i thinked what shocked me the most was the 'safe room' level. i knew something was up but as soon as i saw how ritsuka was so frantic to drink the water and fruits prepared by oberon, the end notes shocked me??? i LOVE IT so much kasjdfkjdsfgh so thats why the title gained was 'gochisousama'. apparently they were from the autumn forest itself and it reminded me that you should NOT eat what a fairy offers or else.. of course we know the consequences. but according to the end notes, its for the sake of loneliness, of hunger, of this distance from oberon that made her suddenly crave for him so much that she couldnt help but consume what he prepared..i also like how he included a bunch of sex toys dkjfdkjgjkbdjkf my face feels so hot reading it i love it so much..

during the progression of the levels, ritsuka also acquired blue markings on her back which is butterfly shape marking asfljdfgjh which meant that, of course, her body and soul is being tainted in oberon's.. (i think this solidified further when the mors came inside her ww)

but what made me laugh was the marriage contract XD he also wrote it in probably british? or what fairy language is used in morgan's kingdom www still the method to sign it was just both delicious and bizarre www

still, the way the game is set is just??? i love it too much. oberon pushed her in 'his' direction but still made sure she had room to decline and go back. but the exit was already obvious since you only have to go back and the 'dungeon' only led to the bottom which was the opposite of a way out- or rather.. she refused to think about it and resolved to meet oberon- see the real oberon instead of the illusions themself, who she wanted to see. the end, the conclusion, fulfilled by her desires which the flames were fanned by oberon when he set this up.

near the end, the lantern still gave her hope, which would have been the perfect entrance for artoria to bust oberon's ass and save ritsuka ww but this is between obeguda, with the goal of claiming ritsuka's entirety for oberon and 'returning' to that abyss where separation is nonexistent.

"I don't want to betray this light..." That lantern still burned in the end after all. But oberon's question really was a nail in the coffin ww

"If that's the case then I'll ask you," Oberon's voice quietly trembled, "Where in the world is that hope(light) of yours?"

and the words broke ritsuka??? so good.. askjfhsdjkgh the light shined the way to move forward. but 'forward' to where? if the exit and the outside world is that way, why didnt this light point the way? why did the light keep shining so brightly? why was that light burning? and the sense of resignation and defeat washed over her. she doesnt even know why she ended up in such a place the moment she was at the final floor. the feeling of despair was delicious it was so great im clawing at my chest...!!!!

she could only stutter with that feeling of despair! as she tries to find a reason for that lantern that she carried with her!!!

and its just like in the garden!!!! the garden!!!!! "It's alright, Ritsuka. That's enough. You can relax now. Whether its over or still in the middle of it, you can let go." you can finally be free. you can rest easy. so just rely on me. you've done enough!!!

there was also that "fallen star" title. i think its the best. it really does remind me of lb6's ending and his views on titania ueueue

seriously this kind of courtship... www it also reminds me of kairi's previous works which included a similar theme.. but this time three authors worked on it so thanks for the collab yomoko-san, kanonige-san and kairi-san herself

I have a thousand other things to do this month, but I just found this event and I REEEEALLLY wanna participate!! 😭 Even if it’ll just be something small. Thanks to @tmnt-tychou for creating this event! You can find the prompts list here!

Rise!! (Although, Bonnie and Donnie are a thing in the Bayverse universe as well. 😋💜)

2. Introduce us to your OTP.

(Sometimes) Mad Genius Ninja Turtle meets Bunny Themed Human Thief!

3. How did they meet?

Oh, in the good ol' 'boys on patrol fashion' except Bonnie is the perpetrator Donatello and his brothers are after instead of a victim.

She's pulling a heist and gets caught by one of Donatello's handy inventions, but he gets careless and she magically escapes somehow, thus starting a mildly infuriating (for Donatello) game of cat and mouse..... er-- bunny and turtle??? Lol.

4. How is the relationship now?

Less.... infuriating. Lol, no, it's actually very good.

It takes a long while to get there however. What with Bonnie being a criminal and all. Kind of hard for them to be a thing when Donatello is supposed to be a hero to New York.

Donatello also has trust issue (outside of the fact that Bonnie is a thief) due to a past relationship with a girl that reminds him of Bonnie... However, when he finally gets past that, there is an obstacle from Bonnie's side that still diverts him from pursuing her fully. It's a complex situation for the both of them, but it helps that Bonnie is stubborn and Donatello can't turn down a challenge.

5. What is each other’s love language?

You would think being a thief, Bonnie's would be "gift giving' but no. Lol. It's touch. Upon first meeting someone she presents herself as reserved. But after becoming comfortable with the person (and or turtle) she is very hands-on. Be it affectionately-annoying pokes and prods, or lovingly-tender touches and caresses. And though it takes a lot of time and trust for Donatello to allow her to touch him, he yearns for it once they are in a stable relationship.

I feel like Donatello's is pretty obvious but... Gift giving / Acts of Service. (C'mon. He's just that guy.) It actually plays a big part into their whole story. To make things short however, Bonnie is kind of used to having to provide for herself and has a hard time believing anyone is genuine with their gifts towards her until she meets Donatello. He's the first being to give and assist her without requiring anything in return and that makes her heart go Doki-Doki.

They get married in their late 20s! It's an impromptu thing on Donatello's part, but of course, Bonnie's more than thrilled to take his hand in marriage.

Probably their ship name "Bond," LMAO!! (Listen, you don't know how many ships I've had that just didn't have compatible names!! 😭) But also their complex build up. I know I was vague about it here (I didn't want to overload) but they go through a lot of shit together and learn how to be vulnerable with one another. I hope to share more of it soon cause I think it's quite a fun story.

honestly, it’s genius. his character by nature is DESIGNED to fall under the radar; always there, but never seen-type. love him so bad lowkey.

he’s, like, the 3rd(?) biggest yan of the game, CANONICALLY, and yet the people do not care 💔/j

bro is dangerous as hell, sorry. i cannot stop thinking about him. think with me. he was partners with mc— a person who really didn’t care for him—for a singular class project in high school and yet he switched around his entire life’s trajectory for them. he left everything behind; his future, his family, his sanity. all to seek the attention of someone who never glanced twice at him outside of the classroom.

chances are he knew how insane this was. when his parents screamed at him for letting his grades fall off the bone, there was probably a voice in his brain that was also shouting about how unreasonable he was being. and yet, despite all that, he pushed on. for some unclear, yet fascinating reason, it’s obvious that kei has no plans on stopping anything he’s doing until you’re his.

after meeting you, his mindset changed. and as it changed, so did his social circle. he went from the smartest kid in school to having “most likely to be jailed” written under him in the yearbook (credits to haruto, probably). okay ramble over! sorry your little guys literally won’t exit my head

final thoughts: he’s so cute. i want him.

I want to write so much more for this but I would be spilling so much lore LMAOOOOO Like fr though, Kei is slept on so much even though he's like one of the most important people to the plot. I've stated so many times how I write characters in most significance to the plot and how their routes are set up and Kei is just ignored. If any of you figure out the plot of Mine beforehand message me, if you get it right I have no reason not to tell you LOL However I totally understand wanting to play the game and figure out the plot yourself while playing, makes me feel big brain when I do that. But I actually love posts like this where it's psychoanalyzing characters and theorizing, it makes me so happy.

LMAOOO yeah, Haruto would do that. Tell you what, it was a shocker for Haruto and you when you two beat Kei who has been 1st in class since elementary school. He really threw everything away for you. Went from being loved by his parents, friends, and teachers to being rejected by everyone, including himself. No one has loved him for such a long time, he hopes you can change that <3

ok contining off of my other mlp eqg post , making a higher education list for the humanified ponies yknow!

ok starters , fluttershy! animal caretaker, which i feel is obvious. i mean look at her fucking house. ive seen that you need a highschool diploma which id feel as she would definitely have, and possibly needing a bachelors in something of animal care something of the sorts so, she probably majored in animal husbandry? we know damn well she probably already knew everything pertaining to it tho and minored in.. something. ill go for ecology

ok! rainbowdash! i still think they'd just have a highschool diploma, probably no further education because they'd have the same aspirations as the one in the eqg world. maybe her parents wanted to push them into a community college or something tho and then they went to it for a while then perhaps quit. like that one old mlp series LOL. she'd of course do her best to do whatever the human equivalent of the wonder bolts would be, which is gonna be an athletics team now even tho being a jet flying team would make more sense but whatevs!

aj. of course she would just work on the farm still. nothing past a highschool diploma. she does definitely have a diploma tho and not a GED or anything because she was so young when her parents had passed so she was already used to everything being so fucking hectic so she was able to balance everything (however. i do believe big Mac definitely dropped out of highschool and later in life acquired a GED ) (these mfs HATE cps)

This episode is a masterpiece. It’s obviously the best Machine’s POV episode. I love how the writers slowly showed us how the Machine works through the seasons, and how over time she really became a full character of her own and not just... a machine. We grow attached to her, but this episode is really the one I knew I would love her unconditionally. The flashbacks with Harold explaining why she’s making this decision today. She runs all the simulations she can, and delete every ones who have one her team members dying. To her all lives have the same value, that’s what Harold taught her and she listened and she learnt. She’s not a super efficient computer because she has access to all electronics devices to spy on, she’s very efficient because she knows what to do with the informations she get. We’ve seen multiple times flashbacks showing us that learning, and more specifically learning the value of human life is the central point Harold focused on to create Her. And damn did he made an absolute marvelous job. Harold is such a genius. So in the end she decides to pick the option were they all have about 2% of chances of survival. You’d think it’s a bad choice, but first of all she doesn’t have time to calculate billions of possibilities, and second she does pick the option that one, assure the success of Her plan, because if they’d die without even succeeding in what they’re supposed to do here in the first place, then what’s the point? Two, they all have equal chances of surival. Sure these chances are low, but she doesn’t prioritize one human life over another one, not even her own creator. And that’s why I love her so much.

But not only that, on a lighter note, she does know her team so well it’s amazing. Not lighter, but the fact that she knows all of them would sacrifice themselves in no time makes me want to throw myself into the void. But also how she guesses all their little talks, sassy remarks etc. The fact that she decide to lose precious seconds to save a freaking painting because she knows Harold would appreciate it 😩 And when she simplifies the simulation with simple descriptive responses for each characters, and it’s exactly the tone and type of responses they would use!!! Poetic cinema. Also hat off to the actors for acting this without bursting into laughter. Also when she makes Lionel kiss Root for no reason and you can see through the characters’ reactions that she, herself, is like “this doesn’t make any sense”. Honestly the whole thing looks like reading the scenario. You have the basis of what the writers chose for their characters. And let’s not forget that the Machine is Shoot number one shipper. They were literally no good reason for her to make that discussion between Root and Shaw in the simulation. What is the purpose to her calculation? There’s none. But she chose to incorporate it, because one: she has eyes and hears everywhere and she obviously can’t fucking miss the obvious, not to mention she probably had to deal with Root more than anyone else in the show, so she knows better than anyone else. Let’s not talk about the “Maybe someday”, this lesbian cannot stand that phrase anymore without wanting to throw myself over the window. Anyway, the Machine is like, they better be talking their feelings out or I will take matter in my own hands. Yet she did not betray Shaw’s characters and chose the appropriate response for her. Dismissing her feelings dfdfezeff

And then we’re back to reality. I remember when I first watched this episode I was so shocked the first time we see Finch dying before we understand it’s a simulation. Like I went completely unresponsive for at least five minutes trying to process what was happening. This time, the second the first simulation hit, I was already crying lmao and basically I watched the whole episode with tears in my eyes. Probably cause I knew what was going to happen, but seeing the Machine’s process, it really feels like she’s not just calculating, but she’s having a mental breakdwon calculating. Remember how in the flashback she was scared to make the first move in the chess game because she was afraid of making the wrong move? Yes. That’s what I’m telling when I say this show is absolutely insane. And when Shaw finally appears and you can see the percentage rising up, like first time I was like “YES YES YES” and this time I was like “NO”. Also the fact that Shaw has the queen role. The most powerful piece in chess, she can change the whole game, she can move the way other can’t, and she’s a very important piece to win the game, but that doesn’t mean she has to survive the whole game. But in that case, it wasn’t the Machine’s choice, it’s Shaw who came and chose to sacrifice herself to make sure everyone else would get out of here alive. And the fact that she admits having feeling to Root just like the Machine predicted, not by words but by kissing her... I need another full year to recover. Look, I know what happens to Shaw, I know it but it’s so well done. That’s how you write a great end for a character. Just like **** But yes it still makes me wants to lay on the ground. And I vividly taking lot of episodes before admitting it was not another simulation.

Also this episode is just great in general. The visuals, with the slow motions effects, the close ups, all of it, it’s absolutely gorgeous and emphasize the whole drama of the episode. And Fortune Days. Damn that song. All picks on this show always fit so well. But this one fits particularly well. First of all it’s literally from a band called The Glitch Mob, which is already fitting enough for the Machine, but the song is structured like it’s restarting multiple times, like the Machine re evaluate her option. I don’t know who picked it but they deserve a raise just for that decision.

Anyway that was my love letter to this episode but also I want to die.

you can tell the huge difference pdh has had on mystreet if you watch s1 and llp back to back. they reference it a lot so you’d probably be clueless for some of the mentions, though they do vaguely explain some of their references.

at the beginning the voice lines were a bit weird, there was always such a weird awkward pause between the lines that was extremely obvious but it does get better after the first couple episodes

the whole dante, jenna and nicole thing bothered me. IT WASN’T. problematic per say. i dont think it was b a d but it could’ve been done much better? i do like how nicole and jenna didn’t act as if nothing happened and didn’t try getting back w/ him or give him a second chance at love. i like how dante knows he cannot repair the damage he’s done. his plot lines can be mature which sometimes takes me in for a loop. however when zane said “dante is trying, he’s just being dumb” it made me.. yknow the kombucha girl cringe meme? yeah that one. i feel like........ it was taken a bit too lightly imo? IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN IT. i just wish it was taking more seriously.

also the travlyn thing towards the end kinda.. gave me whiplash. LIKE I KNOW it was sorta foreshadowed w/ travis going “i can’t take it” in his convo w/ dante but.. IT WAS SO WEIRD? because initially it was written as a funny joke but then it wasn’t and travis was actually feeling hurt. it’s just i don’t think it was done well enough so it came off as a sudden change in tone thats jarring

oh my god am i being too harsh- i feel like i was being too harsh bc this was not written by a genius so idk why im critiquing it so harshly im so sorry. but i’m still going bc i can :]

BUT ANOTHER THING. the whole aphmau being scared of swimming was hhh? on one hand i feel like it was taken wayy too seriously but at the same time i feel like it wasn’t taken seriously enough at times. by that i mean, aphmau seems to be the type to trust her friends a lot regardless, and she encourages her friends to tell her things no matter how embarrassing they may be, but when it comes to her, she stubbornly refuses to tell anyone but zane. but then when everyone knows, no one takes her fear seriously w/ pushing her into the water or going “lmao you’re overreacting”. maybe it’s me because i also cannot swim and it’s sooo fucking scary being in chest level water. tbh im honestly overreacting bc i would also laugh if someone was in my position ngl

GOD I SAID THIS ALREADY BUT SYLVANNA REALLY PISSED ME OFF THIS SEASON. i was fine w/ her not knowing that her daughter had a boyfriend but still going against her wishes despite knowing she has one afterwards simply because you don’t like him hrggghr. i know that mom’s can be annoying like that yeah but jesus fuck it does not help.

honestly aaron was just.. The Boyfriend, yet again. i did like how it was obvious that aaron was becoming more comfortable w/ the people around him and being more outgoing. it was cute. however. most of the things coming out of his mouth was aphmau. EVEN WHEN IT WAS DANTE’S PROBLEM HE COULD NOT HOLD BACK FROM BRINGING UP APHMAU IM SO TIRED.

anyway i give this season...... honestly 8/10? i know i complained a lot abt this seasons but it was genuinely fun to watch. i liked the other little side characters like the token gay couple (guy and nate + teony and The Girl who’s name they mentioned but i forgot), the dad and his son, also the bartender-

ONCE AGAIN i would love to mention this mini review is totally based off my personal taste yaddah yaddah, this is a very subjective and biased post so :thumbsup:

sw brotherhood ramblings (spoilers!)

okay so SW Brotherhood was really good. The plot was weak at times but the characterizations and character relationships (esp between Anakin and Obi Wan) is A+++. And isn’t that why we’re here? To read about the characters? It’s not called Star Wars: Good Plot (although the plot itself is fine enough)

I just finished it so I haven’t had time to stew, and I haven’t read anyone’s opinion on it or read much from the author with the exception of the acknowledgements (surprisingly informative) and one (1) tweet explaining that blitzball is from Final Fantasy X which is the most important piece of canonical Star Wars lore of all time. Anyway. Spoilers below the cut since I wrote a lot.

Overall I love it.

There were several weak spots, especially in the plot - for example, why did Obi Wan accept such a bad bargain in the first place? I guess he was desperate, but the investigation never would’ve worked with what he had. Ketar was also the weakest character imo. His descent into villainy is obviously supposed to mirror Anakin and I think also be a reference to the "angry young man without support or healthy emotional outlet” to “we’re all domestic terrorists” pipeline irl but it was very rushed and happened very quickly. Like this dude went from angry to terrorist in a few days? And we never really got to hear his Tragic Backstory until the trial, which didn’t help in his favour (although the nuance on how badly the Republic treated Cato Nemoidia was well done). It does, however, in a rushed way, show us how people exploit angry young men for terrible purposes, and how leaving them aside and assuming everything’s fine without affirming that you care or checking leads to terrible consequences which, hey, in this political environment probably helps. To be fair to Ruug, she did try at first before she got busy. Also the be fair to her she was only busy for a few days, but this whole thing took several days which, again, feels like it’s a bit too fast to be realistic. The final confrontation with Ketar was also quite heavy handed and messy, since Mill was narrating his emotions at every turn (we know he’s angry, thank you Mill, that’s been obvious for a while now) while Obi Wan and Anakin often talked to each other on the side... while Ketar was holding a detonator for a bomb and monologuing? Where did they have the time.

Another weak part is that imo it relies far too heavily on Anakin-related dramatic irony. Now, to be fair, what’s the clone wars without increasingly heavy handed Anakin-related dramatic irony? [deep sigh] It also mentions the memes a lot. Like, I get that technically Anakin is right and sand is, in fact, coarse and rough and irritating and it does, in fact, get everywhere, but every time you mention it I remember the meme and it makes things funny. Is this part supposed to be funny, Mike?

The golden, shining spotlight is the characterizations (barring Ketar) and the Anakin and Obi Wan relationship, though. And to a lesser extent the Anakin and Mill Alibeth relationship, which is adorable and Mill is the light of my life. Astonishingly, Obi Wan isn’t characterized as a perfect being who can do no wrong and Anakin isn’t characterized as a dumb impulsive idiot! I mean, don’t get me wrong, Anakin is both dumb and impulsive, but he’s also compassionate and caring and he loves so fiercely and he’s a genius who likes to fix things. And Obi Wan level-headed and eloquent but he also acknowledges mistakes he made with training Anakin (and he’s not gonna fix them, as we know) and he has blind spots he doesn’t consider. I have become so jaded with the way fandom portrays the two of them lmao. Even a tiny smidgen of Obi Wan not being perfect is enough to make me happy. Anakin’s relationship with his new arm is also nicely done. In the Prequels (specifically, in side notes) there was this very ableist idea given by George Lucas (and said to be believed by the Jedi Council) that his arm being cut off means that he is weaker in the Force due to the lack of midichlorians. Luckily, the Jedi Council never mentions this here and Anakin does have problems with his arm (understandable, it’s a new prosthetic) but he comes to accept it as a part of him and useful. What a breath of fresh air. Another very good reference to the difference between the more expressive TCW Anakin and the less expressive Prequels Anakin is the explicit note that Anakin puts on a monotone when he speaks to the Jedi. This ... fits. Anakin in TCW tends to be more expressive, Anakin in the Prequels is less, yes, but he sounds the most natural in the first 20 mins of Revenge of the Sith and when alone with Padme. It’s a very good tidbit to fill in.

Anakin and Obi Wan’s relationship is wonderfully done. They obviously care and love each other. The ways they work with each other, the ways the reign each other in, highlight their good parts and mitigate their bad, their slow acceptance that they’re equals now, both of them chilling out with regards to each other. The banter... it’s a great way to show them sliding into their Clone Wars relationship while acknowledging the friction (but care!) in AOTC. The way Obi Wan wishes Anakin was here to get him out of the mess because Anakin always manages to find a way but when Anakin shows up he immediately protests about having a plan that Anakin ruined. Anakin trusting Obi Wan to take care of himself and focusing instead on the bigger picture instead of his loved ones. Genuinely unprecedented for this boy, we love to see some growth. ([stares out into the distance])

Anakin and Mill are adorable, he’s always been good with kids (heavy...handed...Anakin-based...dramatic...irony....) and it shows in how he cares about her and encourages her to follow her heart. And he tells her that he’s learning from her and he does! He notes some things that he wished Obi Wan did for him and he does it for her! Genuinely so cute.

Obi Wan and Ruug... is probably something we should have more of. She seems like a rougher, more cynical version of Obi Wan - clearly meant to parallel him the same way Ketar parallels Anakin, except he could also see bits of Anakin in her. She’s also just a very cool character. Brave and good, but also cynical and pragmatic and hardened by war. We don’t get to see her interactions with Ketar as much, especially after he starts talking to Ventress, which is on purpose but still to both of their detriment. I also like how Ventress is more of a manipulator than a fighter here. Good to remember all of her skills, and good to remember that she also has reasons to dislike the Republic.

Side note, while I am talking about relationships: Anakin and Padme are so obviously in their Honeymoon Phase and it’s so funny. Obi Wan suspects but each time he’s like “are they... nah. No. I am going to think about something else.”

There are also some legit criticisms of the Jedi that I like being delivered. Like obviously they’re good, they’re trying to be good while the Republic is asking them to stray further from their vows, but lookat little Mill Alibeth pointing out that for a peacekeeping force, the Jedi place way too much value on their swords. Also Ventress pointed out some stuff but that’s was more in the manner of a creative use of the truth to make a better lie. It’s a well done piece of manipulation, certainly, but it’s not as impactful.

Lastly, author Mike Chen noted that he read the Revenge of the Sith novelization in his acknowledgements. Based and it shows and I love him for it. Literally bits in the narration that ties directly into that novel. The continuity of it all. [Chefs kiss].

Of course. It’s so fucking bad that you honestly didn’t know how else to react about finding out that Steve was Bucky’s step-brother all along. The same person who somewhat ruined his relationship with his mom. Strawberry Tart Guy. Steve Rogers.

“I’m withdrawing my application.” you simply said, trying your best to compose yourself despite the revelation.

You had so many questions swirling in your mind right now and as much as you wanted to be straightforward and ask Steve, you’d rather not stir the pot. Especially when you and Bucky just made up.

Steve nodded with a sigh, sitting back down on his chair. “Yeah, I figured that out when I found out you work for him.” he chuckled, shaking his head as if he too, was unable to believe the coincidences.

“As much as the company seems great, I really think pushing through with my application here would only cause more damage than good.” you mindlessly responded.

Steve tilted his head, his brows furrowing into his forehead in curiosity. “More damage? How so? And why aren’t you as surprised as I expected you to be? Bucky having a step-brother isn’t really out there, it’s not exactly a secret but it’s rarely talked about. I doubt he’d be disclosing something as personal as that to his employees.”

Goddammit. You gave yourself away!
