I'm curious. How would you compare Fire Punch to Fujimoto's other works? While I did start with CSM, I was just sort of meh about it? Meanwhile, I adored the short stories, especially Look Back.
oh man that's a complicated question. i imagine by the short stories you also mean goodbye eri rather than his earlier one-shots (correct me if i'm wrong).
so the thing with fujimoto is that while he's a pretty eclectic writer there are recurring ideas and motifs in all of his works, as well as a distinctive sense of humour and sense of absurdity and a certain.... mood. but in the recently released collection of early one-shots, he talks about how look back was basically him finally making peace with himself as a person and artist after a long period of depression and an unhealthy relationship with his own art. and i think it absolutely shows--his earlier works are experimental but there's def an undercurrent of misery and self loathing through several of them. and nowhere does that show more clearly than fire punch.
chainsaw man is..... it's a shounen, at its core, not simply a "deconstruction" of it because it DOES pay loving homage to some aspects of shounen, as well as action b-movies and superhero media. fire punch is not a shounen. it shares some core themes with chainsaw man, but.... it's a very messy work and it's far more explicit and brutal in its violence than chainsaw man is. i've seen some folk call it grimdark/edgy, and i think at times it can def feel eyeroll worthy, but i don't think fujimoto wrote that violence for the sake of being edgy or cool. it's very clear that fire punch is, at its core, about suicidality. it's also about struggling to find your own identity in relationship to others, about how you use storytelling both as a way to cope and survive and as a way to justify your own actions. chainsaw man gets very depressing at some points but it is ultimately more hopeful. fire punch is about a man who is constantly on fire and feels every second of that agony. it's about systemic dehumanization, both through oppression and hero worship.
its mood is very different from chainsaw man. its plot structure and influences are also very different. it's a lot darker and cruel and more cynical than chainsaw man ever is, nevermind later works like look back and goodbye eri. it's also intensely personal--the hardest parts for me to read don't involve rape, or mass murder, or burning alive. they are the moments where the main protagonist wants nothing more but to die, when the world is a black hole he cannot escape, when he is self harming and when the very act of existing causes him incredible mental and physical anguish. it's such a raw depiction of what being actively suicidal feels like, especially when you know you can't kill yourself despite feeling like you have nothing to live for. it's.... very, very personal and real. there's no doubt in my mind that part of why fire punch is such a messy story and why it's also so raw and bleak is because it reflects fujimoto's state of mind at the time, or at least something he'd experienced very recently.
so like, if that's something that feels like your thing more than chainsaw man (especially if what turned you off in csm was stuff like the silliness and b-movie references and the absurd hyperviolent comicbook feeling) then i'd rec it, with a lot of caveats/trigger warnings, because while it's incredibly flawed it's also really unique and interesting. i will say that i compare fire punch and chainsaw man a lot because i feel like the two inform one another. despite their different tones and inspirations, chainsaw man reprises a lot of motifs and ideas from fire punch, and for some of these fujimoto's intentions are to build on them and improve his previous takes on the matter. rn part 2 of chainsaw man focuses a lot on how people perceive chainsaw man the superhero, how that identity is built and defined by outside people and the accompanying hero worship and deification and hypercommodification of said identity. cannibalism as a form of self sacrifice and grotesque enmeshment is also a thing. so are movies as a way to find meaning and connection. if these are a turn-off and things you didn't particularly enjoy in chainsaw man, i think you'll be turned off by the messier and earlier takes on them that are found in fire punch.
what fire punch does have that chainsaw man doesn't is togata, who's canonically trans and The Character Of All Time. i'd rec fire punch only for him, though he unfortunately leaves the narrative by like halfway through the story (and it's commonly agreed that after his exit fire punch is a lot less coherent and kinda loses steam, though there are still some very powerful moments and ideas) AND again, there's no trigger warning that doesn't apply to fire punch lol. i love togata with all my heart though.
i will say personally that reading fire punch gave me much greater appreciation for chainsaw man and vice versa, as well as more appreciation for his later one-shots. fujimoto first worked on it when he was 22-23, and again it was clearly a very dark part of his life. so it's a bit of a mess, and often it reads less like a coherent story than as a very personal and raw attempt to put his worst emotions into his art. which to me is also valuable. if you're ok with say, the first 2-3 chapters, then def continue on and give it a try. you might not like it and feel frustrated by it, but at the very least it might give you more insight and appreciation for his later stuff!

Reader’s Corner: Goodbye Eri, Island in a Puddle, and I’m a Wolf, But My Boss is a Sheep!
Our selection of reviews this week include a couple shoujo titles, a self-published work, a throwback as we dig into the modern classic, The Ancient Magus Bride, and the newest releases from mangaka of Chainsaw Man and ERASED.
-----
School Memories
While I haven’t read many one-shots, I’m starting to appreciate them as all the ones I’ve read thus far have been excellent, with School Memories by Sharean Morishita being no exception. The central character, Colton, has quite the fondness for pranking others, and finds his actions hilarious (even if the class doesn’t share the sentiment). Hoping to help show the class see how truly funny his pranks are, he’s instead going to learn a valuable lesson that’s quite the opposite of what was intended. I originally discovered this manga through Morishita’s other one, Catch Me! Fight Me! Love Me!, and continue to deeply appreciate the diversity represented in her stories. However, while I’ve enjoyed both of these titles, School Memories hit a lot closer to home. I have only been pranked once, but it’s one I won’t ever forget. I think realizing (and learning) that not every prank is “good” is a message all groups of readers need a reminder of, regardless of this volume being a shojo manga geared towards girls. That said, while this theme is strong, it’s not overpowering because the story itself is also lighthearted mostly due the heroine, Echo. I really enjoyed Echo and Colton, both, and absolutely loved the art! This is definitely a fun one-shot, but a compelling one as well. ~ Laura A. Grace
School Memories is published by Sharen Morishita.
Getting Closer to You, Vol. 1
Getting Close to You is exactly the kind of shojo manga I’m always looking for, a romance with sports overtone. As soon as I saw Kodansha was publishing a manga where the heroine is asked to become a basketball manager, I immediately went to their website and read the first chapter. It was so funny! And that humor only continues throughout the manga because the heroine, Kaho, is a muscle manic who absolutely loves muscles. And so naturally, one day when she’s spying on the team basketball players to see their muscles, Kaho unexpectedly finds herself in an interesting predicament with our hero, Natsume. Rather than divulge her “secret” of how obsessed she is with muscles, he proposes she becomes the manager of the basketball team (which he just so happens to be on). I loved this story! I laughed so much when reading, and it truly reminded me how fun and enjoyable manga can be! Kaho’s obsession is absolutely hilarious; I had to remind myself to slow down when reading because I was having such a great time. And her chemistry with Natsume is so precious—I deeply loved how respectful he is of Kaho. This first volume had a great balance of romance and sports and I found myself completely giddy over the idea of reading more about this couple. I know I tell friends often I’ll keep up on digital manga, only to forget about the upcoming volumes, but Getting Closer to You is one I must keep reading! It too fun not to see what happens next! ~ Laura A. Grace
Getting Closer to You is published by Kodansha.
Goodbye, Eri
From Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man, Goodbye, Eri is a brand new, 200-page one-shot that begins with 12-year-old Yuta, who is asked to film every single moment of his dying mother’s life as she passes. He then compiles it into a film and after she dies, presents it at a school event. It flops. Big time as he creates a surprise ending to the film after running away from his mother during her final moments. After feeling like such a failure, Yuta considers suicide. That’s when he meets Eri, a film-loving classmate who actually enjoyed his movie. The story continues as Yuta and Eri watch films in order to come up with ideas for a new movie for Yuta to create. Fujimoto weaves an engaging story about love, loss, family, and filmmaking. I just could not stop reading and, frankly, plan to read it again soon. It did not feel like a mere 200 pages; the story was so well paced and the characters were so interesting. If you enjoy Fujimoto’s style of unexpected storytelling and are ready for a mature story about death and loss, check it out. ~ mdmrn
Goodbye, Eri is published by Viz Media via their Shonen Jump imprint.
Island in a Puddle, Vol. 1
Written by Kei Sanbe, creator of ERASED, Island in a Puddle deals also with the triumvirate of child abuse and neglect; supernatural powers; and monstrous adults. Siblings Minato and Nagisa, taken to an amusement park and again abandoned for an indeterminate amount of time by their mother, are riding a Ferris wheel when it’s hit by lightning. The event does something paranormal, switching the older brother’s body with that of a man in another car. Even more frightening, Minato is now in that other car with a murdered woman, which can only mean that his young sister, Nagisa, must now be with the killer. What a horrifyin turn of events, an yes, this first volume is every bit as stressful as it sounds. Sanbe excels at both creating a protagonist we care and root for, and in putting him and his loved ones through the ringer. The tension is extremely high during the latter half of the volume, as the killer’s recent crimes are laid out, with the switch conveniently helping him continue his murderous life (with Nagisa a likely future victim), while Minato is now on the run—and not just from the authorities. Everything is going wrong and there doesn’t seem to be a way out, creating a sense of desperation not only for Minato, but for the reader. Can everything be righted? Probably, but we’re going to go through a whole lot of pain and stress before we get there. ~ Twwk
Island in a Puddle is published by Kodansha.
I’m a Wolf, But My Boss is a Sheep!, Vol. 1
I’m a Wolf, But My Boss is a Sheep! is yet another series that I was persuaded to pick up through the manga-reading community! Maybe because at the time when I saw this in the bookstore I had My Senpai is Annoying on my mind, I decided to give the manga a try as it seemed to be along the same vain…except as the cover implies, these characters aren’t quite human! Oogami, is a young man who recently transferred to a new department in the bedding company at which he workst. Not that big of a deal, even though he will be in the same department as his crush (aka his supervisor), but what is a big deal is that he is the only wolf in a department full of sheep! What’s he going to do now?! What a cute setup for an adult office romcom! I found Oogami to be especially enduring and just a fun hero to cheer for. He is incredibly sweet, though I couldn’t help but laugh when his inner “wolf” would try to overpower his usual calm self in certain situations. His supervisor is equally fun and I absolutely loved her kind personality! Put the two of them together and they are so adorable; I could not help but cheer for them in the romance “department.” I think this is setting up for a great slow burn romance, and I enjoyed seeing them genuinely getting to know each other in this first volume. ~ Laura A. Grace
I’m a Wolf, But My Boss Is a Sheep! is published by Seven Seas.
Record of Ragnarok, Vol. 1
The only way for humanity to survive, to merely continue existing and not be destroyed entirely by the gods, is for them to win Ragnarok, a “final battle” in which 13 humans will face 13 gods in one on one matches. Little time is wasted is setting the stage for a brutal, battle-focused manga in which representatives of each side fight one another, with the humans supported and helped by Brunhilde and her sister Valkyries, who desire for humanity to continue living. It’s been quite a while since I’ve read a battle series. They can be thrilling with their high level of violence (something I both enjoy and tend to avoid, as I really discourage the lust for blood and gore that I can myself obsessing over) and extreme stakes—both in the significance of the outcome and in the background stories provided. Record of Ragnarok, at least in volume one, leans more heavily on the former than the latter, to its disadvantage. By the time the finale of the battle came within sight, I didn’t really care whether Thor or Lu Bu won or whether either or both died, since their backgrounds weren’t fleshed out in ways that appealed to my heart. Actually, I should pull that back a bit and say I rooting somewhat for the Chinese warlord because, well, go humans!, but also because their supporter, Brunhilde, is a fun character—full of optimism, courage, and good humor. But she cannot carry the series herself, so I look forward to seeing if Record of Ragnarok can also make the duos worth caring about in future volumes. ~ Twwk
Record of Ragnarok is published by Viz Media.
The Ancient Magus Bride, Vol. 2
From the conclusion to the story of cats, including a dreadful tale of love gone wrong, to one involving a dog at a graveyard, volume two of The Ancient Magus Bride is bookended by material involving the two domesticated and beloved species and featuring the alchemist Renfred; his assistant, Alice; and more sinister than these two, the first true protagonist of the series, a “creepy” childlike being whose experiments are leading to slaughter and sorrow. In between, Chise recovers from her efforts with the cats, and is in aided in such by Titania, goddess of the faeries, and her excitable husband, Oberon, both making appearances as major gods in this world. The antagonism as portrayed between Titania and the Christian God is captivating, and properly written for a story ruled by pagan deities and spirits. Their entrance into the tale and this interlude overall is charming and humorous, a midsummer night’s dream itself, helping readers catch their breaths at the conclusion of one dark story and the beginning of another likely as dark and action-filled. It’s also absolutely necessary in another way, reminding readers why this series is set apart from others: by the mythic setting and tone, which is slightly lost in the action pieces, and the cold tale of Chise’s life and her allegiance to Elias, who remains a mystery himself. All three acts of volume three are most welcome, though time with Titania and her husband most of all. ~ Twwk
The Ancient Magus Bride is published by Seven Seas.

“How is he?”
Aizawa’s voice, normally gruff and sleep-heavy, sounds sharp and worried. His eyebrows are pinched tight on his forehead, and his hands are folded across his chest with an iron grip, as if barely keeping himself together.
Ken looks at Aizawa and sighs. “He talks and he talks and he talks, but he’s not really saying anything.”
Aizawa purses his lips.
“I don’t think speaking to me will be the breaking point.” Ken laces his fingers together and stares at them as he continues, “But he will, indeed, break. As you did, as I did, as we all did. And when that happens, perhaps, being in the dorms will offer some semblance of comfort.”
Ken looks up and waits till Aizawa catches his eye. “I will be here when he needs me. Until then, I shall continue our sessions, even if he just keeps talking without saying anything.”
Aizawa nods curtly, mumbles out a goodbye and walks back to his accommodation.
---
A hero never forgets their first.
The work is dangerous. Most days are easy and mundane, and then there are days where the hits keep coming. People get hurt, heroes get hurt, and villains get away. You even lose people, in the crossfire or because you were too late, and those wounds never fully heal, the scars faded and jagged, moving with your every move, a constant reminder.
And then there are the days when you feel the Earth beneath you crumble as you watch a child die. When you lose someone young, innocent, with baby fat on their cheeks and wide toothless smiles. Kids with scrapped knees, stars in their eyes, and the softest hair. Kids like Eri.
A hero never forgets their first child.
Aizawa watches Kaminari speaking animatedly with his classmates, eyes bright and body language lax, and feels his fists clench.
He sucks in a deep breath, pushes away any thoughts of blue hair and big, loud smiles and continues his lesson.
---
It’s Bakugou that stays behind in class one day, two and a half weeks after the incident.
“Something’s fucking wrong with Sparky.”
“Language,” Aizawa says automatically, before lowering his books and looking at the blonde. “How do you mean?”
“I don’t know, something is just. Since that day, he- Fuck, I don’t know.”
Aizawa lets this one go. “He’s been coming to class. He’s attended every therapy session with Cementoss. Lunch Rush tells me he’s eating well, and he seems-“
“His eyes-” Bakugou interrupts, nose scrunched in deep thought. “- his eyes are too bright. That’s not his usual, happy-go-lucky-idiot shine. They’re too bright.”
He stands up and pulls his bag over his shoulder. “His eyes feel artificial. He moves his body too much, every movement exaggerated, like he’s constantly compensating. Like he’s fucking pushing something down as hard as he can. And then, there are these moments-“ Bakugou stops just shy of the door. He looks over his shoulder but his eyes don’t seek Aizawa, instead glaring at the tiles near his feet.
“There are these moments when his eyes are vacant, like he’s not even in the same room as us.”
With that, Bakugou walks away and Aizawa finds himself thinking back to the past, the well-acquainted pain in his chest rising from slumber, squeezing till his heart feels like it’s about to break, shatter apart the way it did that day.
Because Aizawa and Hizashi grew up.
That day though, they lost Loud Cloud, who was nothing more than a kid. A young child, gone before he could ever learn just how terrible the world really is.
---
Kaminari attends class. He eats lunch with his friends, jokes around with them, trains every day, and sleeps in on the weekends. He never finishes his homework on time, calls his parents at least twice a week, and continues to go stupid when he overuses his quirk.
He also goes quiet more often, enough for Kirishima to pick up on it too. Bakugou watches Kaminari carefully, watches his eyes go vacant in the middle of movie night, watches him flinch when metal protests under the force of Midoriya’s quirk during training and watches his smiles get wider and more rigid, eyes so bright the fluorescent bulb in the common room dims in comparison.
There is nothing to do but wait.
---
It took Aizawa three months to break after Shirakumo.
Long after the cremation and the memorial and after the chatter picks back up in the hallways. He goes home one day, puts his bag on his desk and takes a seat, intent on finishing his homework. His pen is nowhere to be found so he yanks his desk drawer open-
Only to find a blue and white pen with the name Oboro etched into the body.
Aizawa thinks he hears a crack as his heart splinters and the tears begin, flowing freely. He bites into his forearm to keep from wailing, and he can’t see or breathe or feel anything past the wave of pain that drowns him.
With shaking hands and a complete lack of coherent thought, it takes him 14 minutes to type out a message to Hizashi. It takes the blonde another 8 minutes to get to his room, scoop him up and cry with him, and that wound never quite closes, always exposed, ever-present.
---
It finally happens on an average Wednesday, a month after the incident.
Aizawa’s just finished up with homeroom announcements, and as he straightens up the stack of papers on his desk, he hears Jirou.
“Kaminari, check out this mem- whoa, you ok, man?”
He looks at the blonde and startles when he sees the tears streaming down his face as he stares vacantly at his own hands.
Aizawa moves fast, because that’s what pros do- they calculate, they assess, they make split second decisions that spell life or death and everything in between.
He instinctually activates his quirk just as he whips his capture weapon out, pulling everyone around Kaminari away from him. Because he smells the static in the air, feels the prickles on his skin and he knows the boy is this close to losing complete and absolute control of his quirk.
Kaminari doesn’t acknowledge the chaos around him as people yell out in surprise and try to understand the situation. Aizawa keeps his eyes on Kaminari, and watches as Bakugou turns to Yaoyarozu and yells, “Make me some fucking insulated gloves now.”
Surprisingly though, it’s Shinsou that snatches the first pair and jumps across the desks to get to Kaminari, ducking down to his eye level, staying out of Aizawa’s line-of-sight.
“Hey, do you know where you are?”
Kaminari jerks at that, his eyes snapping over to Shinsou. They’re still vacant and hollow, lifeless. Shinsou keeps one glove on but leaves his other hand free.
“Kaminari, do you know where you are right now?”
Slowly, like he’s underwater, Kaminari swallows and shakes his head.
“Ok, that’s ok, take your time. I just want you to know you’re safe. Do you need anything right now?”
Kaminari looks around slowly, as if trying to understand what’s going on. He looks back at Shinsou and swallows thickly.
“There’s so much blood,” Kaminari says, and his voice sounds haunted. He bites his lip as a fresh pool of tears gather in his eyes.
“Get Cementoss,” Aizawa says to Shoji, his eyes still trained on Kaminari. They’re starting to feel a little dry and irritated, but it’s nothing he can’t handle. Bakugou is also by Kaminari now, hovering behind him protectively, keeping the others away.
“I don’t understand,” Kaminari suddenly says, voice clear and colored with genuine confusion. “How does a kid just die?”
He laughs, a slightly hysterical sound, before his eyes, wide and far too bright, whip over to Aizawa.
“Sensei, there’s no way that kid died, yanno? She was so tiny, barely up to my hip. And so cute, with a lisp. There’s no way she’s dead. Obviously.” He knocks his own head, a hard hit that makes Kirishima flinch, and Bakugou gently holds his arms, to keep him from hurting himself. Kaminari barely notices.
“Kids don’t die,” Kaminari says, his eyes boring into Aizawa’s. “Right, Sensei? They don’t. How can they? They’re too tiny. Someone that small can’t die.”
Aizawa’s eyes sting, and he can say it’s his quirk but he feels it in his heart, a bone-deep ache that’s just second nature to him.
“Kaminari, nobody can live forever.” He clears his throat, slowly walking around the table as he approaches the boy, holding his gaze. “Nothing is forever, not even the- not even the children.”
Kaminari’s eyes go vacant again. “That can’t be true, you know? Cause that means she’s gone.” He looks at Shinsou. “Her hands fit in my palm Toshi. Her entire hand. I don’t. There was so much blood, I can’t- how?” He reduces to nothing but a blubbering mess, and finally, he slumps sideways, right into Bakugou’s abdomen before he wails, the sound of a deeply wounded animal permeating into the very walls of the room.
Shinsou keeps a grounding grip on his knee while Bakugou pushes a hand into his hair, holding him close to his stomach. His own face is scrunched up, eyes red and daring anyone to say anything, to him or Kaminari.
Bakugou goes with him when Cementoss comes. They take Kaminari to the therapy room and Bakugou stays the entire time.
Aizawa turns to face his class again, once the chairs are moved back in place and the shock of it all simmers down, leaving behind an empty cavity in the very middle of the room.
“You never forget your first,” Aizawa tells them, speaking from his soul. “You will never forget your first, and I want you all to promise me that when it happens, you find me. You find somebody. You seek help. And you keep pushing forward. So that someday- “
He clears his throat and pushes through, “So that someday, there won’t be a first anymore.”
He watches his students nod before they turn to each other, looking up ways to help someone in Kaminari’s condition, using their time together as a reference for what will help the most. And Aizawa feels hope and pride gently coat his heart, a band-aid atop a deep, bleeding gash, but it’s something.
He thinks about bright blue hair, a smile that put the sun to shame and the warmth of a gentle soul.
You never forget your first.

Ouija board Board
Tw: bloody and graphic
——
It’s Halloween night. Most people, like Joey were finishing up on getting there candy. Joey invited his friends over for the night to hang out after they were finish. His parents were at a Halloween party at a hotel and were going to stay there that night because they were drinking.
Joey walked into his and put his candy bag next to his bed. He decided to leave on his zombies custom and prepare his house to be more spooky. He light candles up and placed them around the kitchen table and turned off all the lights. Then he turn on the tv onto a scary movie.
Around 15 minutes Henry arrived at joeys having his costume of a robber on. “Hey joey. Love your costume. Looks so real!” He greets. “Also sorry I’m late.”
“No. Your the first one here!” Joey moved aside, offering him inside. “Love the robber costume as well!”
Henry walked in. “Thanks!” He followed Joey into the living room and sat down to him. “So what’s this idea you have.” He looked at Joey.
“We have to wait for the others before I tell.” Joey replied. “But it’s going to be fun. I promise.”
Within half an hour everyone had shown up. Norman dressed up as a vampire. He had the fake blood dripping down his chin and had fake evil Contacts for his eyes and even the teeth was amazing, Sammy as death. Joey knew it was mostly to hide the bruises and jack as a wizard, the robe, still and all . They all settled for a bit in the living room, eating some candy, getting some soda and watching the movie before Joey decided it was time.
“Alright you guys go gather around the table. I’ll get the game.” Joey said then walked to his room.
The boys huddled around the table next to each other and glancing at each other. “Henry do you know what he’s up to?” Ask Jack.
“No. He said he wanted us all here before telling” Henry replied, shrugging.
“Wonder what he’s got in mind.” Sammy said glancing at everyone.
Norman nodded. “Yea me to. Can’t be to bad.”
“Alright! Here it is!” Joey announced as he walked back in. He sat the box down in the middle of the table. The box with the Ouija board inside it. The four all looked at the box in horror for a good long minute.
Norman spoke first. “I’m not touching it.” He glances at Joey.
“Oh come on!” Joey complain sitting down. “I’ll be fun! Right guys?” He looked at the others.
“Joey. These things are dangerous!” Henry replied to Joey. He himself had read the hell that this things could unleash.
Joey looked at jack. “What about you? Your up for some scares?” He grinned wickedly.
Jack shrugged at him. “I donno man...my mother would kill me if she knew I played this...” he sighs.
Joey turned to Sammy. He already knows Sammy liked the bazaar things he had shown Sammy in the past. “What about you Sammy? You in?”
Sammy looked back at him and nodded. “ I’ll do it! Let’s do it!”
“Sammy..” Norman replied then sighed. “ I’m not letting him do it alone. Guess I’ll join as well.” He rolled his eyes. Henry and jack agreed eventually as well.
Joey grinned again. “Let’s play!” He reached over and opened the books to an old Ouija board and pulled it out, along with the planchette. He moved the box and put the board in the middle of them. “Alright everyone put two fingers on the planchette.”
Each of them put there two fingers on it starting by Joey and ending by Henry. Together they circled it around the board three times, chanting. “We welcome any spirt who wants to communicate with us.”
After, Joey ask the first question. “Is there any spirt here with us right now?” They all waited with there fingers on the planchette for something to happen. Nothing happened for the longest time. Then the planchette started towards the YES. “
Ok. Who’s moving it?” Norman ask looking at each of the others.
“Not me!” Joey answered honestly.
Sammy shakes his head no. “Nether am I”
“Nope” Henry replied.
“Not me ether!” Jack said
They all collectively took there hands off the planchette and stares at the board “Guys ...come on. Seriously, who was moving it?” Henry ask.
No one confessed to moving it. “Ok let’s just continue playing..” Joey suggested. One by one the return there fingers to the planchette and Joey again ask the question. “Are you still here?”
The planchette moved, quickly this time, to the YES again, frightening the boys. But they kept there fingers on the planchette and after few seconds of staring at each other they continued. “Are you good or evil.” Jack asked this time.
The planchette was still for the Longest time. Then it moved to the moon side. “I don’t like this anymore guys. It’s an evil spirt.” Sammy said. His voice trembling
“It’s ok Sammy. It can’t hurt us.” Joey replied confidently. “Let’s keep playing. I have another question for it.”
Norman wrapped his arm around Sammy’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. I won’t let nothing bad happen to you Sammy.” Sammy snuggles into him, feeling safe with him. He looked up at Norman and kisses him.
”You two love birds done over there?” Joey interrupted. Sammy and Norman parted their kiss, there faces flushed.
Norman clears his throat. “Yea. Let’s continue.” Him and Sammy return there fingers back on the planchette.
“I’ll ask this time.” Henry said. “Do you want to hurt us?” He ask the board. The planchette slowly moved to the YES once again. Henry and jack both removed there fingers from it.
“I’m done!” Norman shouts. “ I’m
Not playing this anymore!” He crosses his arms.
“One more!” Joey begged. “Just one more then we’re say goodbye.” He looked at his friends. “Come on..”
Norman sighs. “Fine. This is the last question!” He and everyone else placed there fingers on the planchette for the last time.
Joey answered that last question. “Who are you?” All eyes were glued on the planchette aa it moved to the first letter. D. It slowly moved to the second letter and stopped on E. The boys fears were rising as the planchette moved to the third letter. V. The boys were scared shitless when the planchette stopped on the fourth letter. I. The planchette went on the fifth and final letter before things went south. L.
“Devil” Joey read. Then everything happen so quickly. They all herd running footsteps behind them, making them turn around in a panic, just as the power went out and the candles were blown out by some mystery wind. Then they herd someone collapse.
“what the hell was that?!” Jack ask in the darkness, his voice was filled with fear.
“Did someone fall?” Henry added to the panic that was unfolding. “What happened?!”
“Guys. Where did Sammy go?” Norman ask, worried and scared.
“Guys! Claim down! I’m trying to find the matches!” Joey huffed. “It was probably just the wind and a power out. No big deal!” He himself was scared shitless as well. He couldn’t explain the footsteps or the the fact both the power and candles went out at the same time. Had they contacted the devil himself? God he sure hoped not.
“What about the name it gave...?” Henry ask joey.
“It was..probably a spirt messing with us!” Joey replied. “Ah! Found them!” Joey lit the match with one strike and created light. Shadows crept on the farthest side of the light on joeys zombie make up face, making the others Erie. He reached over and relight the candles around the table again so they could all see more around them.
Norman looked to his right, where Sammy was standing before who is know on the floor. “Jesus Christ! Sammy!” Norman knelt down and cheek his head for Any injury as the others crowded around them, worried. Norman found none that wasn’t already there. But his body was super warm. “He’s burning up man!” Norman said to them.
Joey placed the Back of his hand to Sammy’s forehead and immediately took it off. “He’s right..” he looked at the others.
Henry shook Sammy by the shoulders. “Sam? Sammy. Wake up dude.”
Sammy slowly came to, his head turn to the side as he mumbled something that was mostly gibberish to them. “ ...h-he’s...inside....m” was what they understood.
“What the hell does that mean!?” Jack ask turning to Joey as does Henry and Norman
Joey notice they eyes were all on him and he looked back at them. “What you looking at me for?!” He ask.
“Your the one that wanted the play!” Norman yelled. “Now Sammy had passed out and is making no sense now! So you tell me what’s going on here?!” Norman commanded. Ever since he found out what was happening to his boyfriend behind closed doors he’d always tried to make Sammy happy and always tried to protect Sammy. He hates the shit he and Joey does for fun like going to abandon and haunted places or playing with Magic. It was dangerous and he didn’t want them getting hurts.
“I don’t know Norman!” Joey yelled back at him. “This never happen before!!” Joey was desperately trying to figure out what happen. He never wanted anyone to get hurt like this.
“Maybe...it’s possession?” Jack spoke up. He knew a little about this subject and he knew this could happened.
Norman looked at jack then back at Joey. “He’s not possess. Right?...” Norman asked Joey but he just looked away. “Joey! He’s not right?!”
“L-lets just calm down everybody..!” Henry, trying to keep the peace between them all. He got in the middle of them. “ Let’s Just get him upstairs to bed to rest them we can discuss this.”
Everyone agreed to Henry’s idea. Norman Picked up Sammy bridal style and went upstairs to Joey’s room. There he laid him down on his bed and jack tucks him in. Henry went to the bathroom and grabbed a rag, wetting it with cool water then he came in and laid the rag on Sammy’s for head.
Norman and Joey went down stairs to talk and jack followed them while Henry stayed with Sammy. “Are you sure this isn’t possession?” Norman ask.
Joey shrugs. “Like I said I don’t know. I really hope it’s not. He doesn’t deserve it.”
“No shit!” Norman sighed. “look could one of your books explain what’s going on or how to get rid of whatever is possessing him if that’s the case?”
That’s when Joey remembered something really important. His eyes widen for the terror he felt. “We didn’t say goodbye to the board!”
Norman froze as he to had forgotten the most important rule of it. Thats when they herd the noise coming from the stairs. All three of them turned to see what it was and all three was shocked to see there friend tumbling down the stairs and landed on the ground unmoving, blood coming from somewhere. They all looked up the stairs to where Sammy is now standing with a pair of bloody scissors in one hand.
“Jesus Christ...” jack said, backing away from the crime scene.
“Shit...” Joey Commented, standing there in fear. “What have I done..”
“S-Sammy....?” Norman took one step closer to him. “You in there?...it’s me Norman...” he took another to his boyfriend.
Sammy looked at Norman for a long moment. Like it was Sammy trying to fight whatever was possessing his body. “Help...”He got out one word before it fully took over again. Then he threw the scissors at Norman.
Norman ducked out of the way just in time but jack didn’t have a chance. He was stabbed in the shoulder with them. “Ah! That hurts like a bitch!” Jack yelled and pulled them out.
”W-who are you..!” Joey yelled at the thing in Sammy. ”what are you!”
Sammy turns his attention to Joey and smiled. “Why you already should know that, joey. We have worked together in the pass. I was hoping you were smart enough to know who I am by now. I am. The devil!” Henry’s body engulfed in flames a second after, making the other boys run to the door. Joey grabbed the nob and tried to opened it but it wouldn’t budge.
“Come on! Open it joey!” Jack yelled as he looked back and see Sammy coming down the stairs.
“I’m trying!!! It’s not opening!!!” Joey yelled back then bangs on the door in frustration.
Norman to kept looking back at Sammy. “It’s keeping us inside!! Run!” All three took off in different directions to hide. Joey went tours the living room. Jack went into the kitchen and Norman jumped over the flaming body, going up the stairs.
“Oh I love this game!” Sammy chuckled. He gave them a minute to hide before he went hunting. After all they couldn’t leave this house. A minute later he headed for the kitchen.
Jack had chose to hide in the pantry, keeping the door cracked open so he could see some. After a moment of hiding here he know it was to easy to find him but it was to late to move. He first only herd the footsteps. It didn’t sound like Normal ones. It sounded strange like goats hooves walking on wood. They got closer and closer until Sammy Came into view from the small crack.
Jack saw him walking slowly around the kitchen like this was some game he could take his time on. Then it occurred to jack that it was a game to the devil. A game of hunt the pray and he was the pray!
Jack continued watching him and when Sammy stopped walking he thought he was going to turn around to him and attach him. He put his hand over his mouth to quiet his loud breathing. But Sammy only turned to the knives. He’s hand reaches and gracefully touched each on before picking up the big sharp one.
Jack watched him Examine over the knife and using it like a mirror on himself. This goes on for minutes before jack actually knew what he was doing. He wasn’t using it on himself he was using it to look over at him! The realization made him jump back and knocking over boxes and jars of food. “Shit!”
The door swung open making jack scream again. “No! Sammy don’t do this!” He begged.
Sammy stabbed the knife into jacks chest and leans into his ear. “Sammy’s not here.” With that he ripped the knife down his stomach, making all his inside spill to the floor, jack screaming the whole time before he dropped down into his guts.
Joey hid behind the couch and had to hear Jack scream and then something that sounds like jelly being thrown on the ground. It wasn’t a pretty sound. He was shaking and trying so hard to stop the sniffling so he wouldn’t get caught. But he was sure jack was dead. He hey Henry was. He could smell his burning body.
After jack feel silent it was all quiet. There was no screaming. There was no footsteps. No creaks nothing. Which is why when Jacks body was thrown at the wall above him he scream and pissed himself. Jack body slid down beside him and all Joey could do is stare in horror. His Stomach had been ripped open emptied. Joey couldn’t help himself he leaned over and threw up all over the place.
He whipped his mouth off the stopped, and slowly looked up at the grinning smile of the that thing. “Hello Joey.” Sammy swung down a screwdriver right into joeys left eye and ripped it out. Joey scream in pain and held his dangling eye.
Suddenly a shoot was fired at Sammy, hitting him the the arm. Sammy turned around to Norman Polk, pointing a gun at him. Sammy frowned and tears up. “Y-your going to kill me?...but I-I thought you wouldn’t ever hurt me.” Sammy started to cry. “I thought you loved me Norman..”
Seeing Sammy’s face bruised up and the blood pouring down his arm as well as it’s Sammy’s voice talking to him crushed Norman. It broke his heart to have to do this to his boyfriend. “ Your not Sammy. Your the god damn devil!” Norman aimed the gun and shoot Sammy right in the heart and watched him fall.
He dropped the gun and ran to Sammy’s limp body and hugged him as he cried. “I’m sorry Sammy. I’m so sorry!” He sobbed in his chest.
Joey Came over, next to Norman, letting his own eye dangle. He slowly reached over and softly closed Sammy’s eyes.
“He would thank you Norman. For not letting you let the devil kill us all. And not letting it kill other innocent people.” Joey said to try to Comfort Norman. “I’m sorry Norman..”
——-
Joey told his parents and the cops that a man came and killed jack, Henry and Sammy. He gave the cops of the looks of an already previous serial killer when they were questioning him. Norman told them he didn’t see the guy from his hiding place so to the cops he was needed as much.
Joey finally said goodbye to the board and made a Fire in there pit. He threw in the board and the planchette. He stood there watching it burn away for a long time. Then he threw all his books about witchcraft, the paranormal and the occult into the fire pit one by one along with all his tool of it like his pentagrams, and his notes he took on it, everything. He was done with Involved in it.
The doctor and nurses had to cut out Joeys left out entirely to save it from infections. They sew the eye closed and gave Joey and eye patch to cover it if he so choses. he would if he didn’t want to hide it with his hair.
Both Norman and Joey went to all three of there funerals to say goodbye to there friends and support there families. Henry’s families had a close casket for his funeral and happen they cremated him and kept his ashes in a vase. Jack funeral was open casket do to how easy it was to hide his stomach under a shirt. His family buried him under a large Oak tree beside his grandmas grave. Poor Sammy didn’t have anyone show up besides his aunt Erin and them. She wasn’t going to let him go without a proper burial for him. Joey said his goodbyes to him like he did with Henry and Jack then left to give Norman time to say goodbye.
Norman rubbed Sammy’s hair as tears ran down his face. “Goodbye Sammy. I will always love you.”
They all watched as his casket is lowered six feet under. Norman was the first to kiss a rose then tossed it below. Joey murmured an apology before he tossed a rose in for Sammy. His aunt tossed one in for him as well then they watch as his casket gets buried beside a beautiful statue of a women.
After the three funerals, Norman had stopped hanging out with joey. He blamed Joey for all this mess and for him losing his boyfriend and two great friends. It was his fault for wanting to play that stupid evil game. Joey knew he didn’t want to be his friend anymore and couldn’t blame him. He to knew he was to blame. After the three funerals he’d lock himself in his room for days. He was becoming depressed. He misses his boyfriend. He misses his friends. And what’s scary is that the Ouija board he had burned was sitting on his desk unburned with the planchette sitting right in the middle of it.

TodoDeku Hunger Games AU
The Hunger Games are a battle to the death between 24 tributes from the ages of 12 to 18 where they compete for the title of Victor so they can bring resources to their district. The tribute that wins is awarded money, fame, and a house in the Victor’s village provided by the Capital.
I have 2 ideas for this AU.
  Idea 1:
Izuku lives in District 12, which is the poorest district out of the 12 in the country. His father was killed in a mining accident, leaving his family in poverty and despair. Inko did her best to provide for Izuku, but resources were scarce. She adopted Kouta Izumi after his parents died in the same mining accident and she has taken care of her two boys since. Izuku has worked odd jobs and has developed physical strength because of it, lifting heavy objects and doing other sorts of strength-related work to make some extra money. Inko has been keeping an apothecary and has helped others with injuries, teaching Izuku and Kouta about first aid and medicine so they know how to do this, too, someday. Izuku has put in his name for reaping a few extra times to obtain more resources for his family since he was 12, despite his mother begging him not to do so as doing this would just increase his chances of getting reaped for the Games. He doesn’t want Kouta to do this, though, because he doesn’t want his little brother to get picked.
The day of the reaping arrives and Kouta is nervous, and Izuku tries his best to calm him down.  It’s his first reaping so obviously he’s nervous. When it’s time to pick the names of the kids who will get reaped, Kouta’s name is drawn and Izuku’s heart stops. His body moves before he has a chance to think and rushes forward, calling out to him in desperation. He volunteers to take Kouta’s place in the Games and Kouta is spared, but Izuku has to go now.
Inko is obviously devastated, but Izuku tries to cheer her up the best he can. Kouta tells him he needs to win and Izuku makes the promise that he will.
I don’t know who to pick as the female tribute because she will have to die. I don’t want to kill anyone from class 1A. I dont’ have that kind of heart.
Anyways, Izuku and the female tribute go to the train that will take them to the Capital and they meet Toshinori, their mentor for the Games. He won 24 years ago and their district hasn’t had a victor since. That means all of Toshi’s tributes have died in the Games and his hope is fragile. But he sees potential in Izuku, at least, and he has to give more support to one tribute over the other so that at least one of them can win. Izuku is sturdy and strong, and has a good chance at winning.
He gets A LOT of attention because he has been the first person to volunteer for the Games in decades so it’s a really big deal. He has a lot of guts. He looks scared and upset, but he’s doing it for Kouta. He has to win for him.
I haven’t thought of who his stylist will be (the person that makes him look good and groomed for the camera), but I was thinking maybe Aizawa. But I need someone who would motivate Izuku. Katniss’ whole deal is that she is the Girl on Fire because she bursts into flames during the Tribute Parade along with Peeta. But idk if Izuku will do something like this…it has to be a big impact.
Anyways, there’s the tributes parade where all of the tributes go on a parade to showcase their district. Izuku has to look amazing so he can entice hope in people. He has been the first volunteer, so that can’t go to waste. I would imagine that he has an effect of electricity like full cowling, so that would be lit.
After the parade, he and his fellow tribute are being praised by Toshi, but he guides them away from the grounds because another tribute has his eye on Izuku and that’s dangerous. Izuku getting singled out is not good because that means other tributes will target him. The one looking at Izuku with an intense gaze is Shouto, a tribute from District 2, which is one of the richer and stronger districts, and they are usually Careers. Shouto has been trained from childhood to be a Career by his Victor father, Enji, who won his Games 20 years ago. Enji was brutal and wanted for his children to be Victors, too. Shouto gave him the most promising results and so when he was reaped, Shouto had the highest chance out of everyone to win because he’s a skilled archer.
The tributes have to go to training sessions to practice with weapons and learn new skills. Toshinori advises Izuku not to show off his strength so that way he isn’t singled out again by other careers, seeing as how one has already analyzed him. During these trainings, Izuku learns different skills like knot tying, camouflage, starting fires, setting snares, survival skills. He’s already really good with picking out plants and herbs thanks to his mom’s apothecary business, so he’s very skilled in that aspect. He’s just trying not to show off his strength.
He’s practicing with some net stuff (in the movie, Peeta falls from a net his climbing and he falls), and falls, and the careers laugh at him because of that. Izuku brushes it off, trying to ignore them, but then Shouto approaches him and helps him up. And he tells him to throw the medicine ball that’s beside the weights. Izuku doesn’t even know this boy, yet he’s telling him what to do. Izuku does this and throws the medicine ball (heavy shit heavy s h i t), and that makes the careers shut up. After that, Shouto and Izuku talk and practice stuff and hover over each other, even if Shouto makes Izuku nervous. He doesn’t quite trust Shouto yet, but Shouto is not being hostile, at least he’s good at acting decent.
I feel like I should make Shouto challenge him, though, but Idk how to do that. Maybe he could challenge him when he sees hi m in the parade, but idk. I want them to have a neutral relationship from the start. Or, I could have him challenge him and when they’re in the Games and they’re trying to kill each other, Izuku saves Shouto and Shouto values that and agrees to work with Izuku.
But it’s hard to do that when the interviews come before the Games. And I want for the interviews to give a huge impact. Each tribute is interviewed to speak about themselves. Shouto is handsome and everyone loves him and the interviewer (probably Mic) brings up Shouto’s father being a Victor and asks him if he’s going to follow up with his own victory. Shouto answers that he hopes so, …even though there is another tribute that he really likes and even has a crush on them. This leaves the audience wondering who he has feelings for.
Izuku’s interview is heartwarming because he’s nervous and down to earth and Mic brings up his volunteering for his little brother and Izuku goes off on how much he cares about Kouta and how he will try to win just for him.
The Games start and Izuku has to get resources, but if he goes to the Cornucopia, he will get killed trying to get a weapon. He manages to snag a backpack and escapes being pursued by the other tributes (he runs really fast, this boy is Speedy Gonzalez goodbye). I would imagine he has agreed to work together with his fellow tribute and Shouto, and they all agree to meet up somewhere if they can.
Shouto, on the other hand, is a total beast and manages to snag a few weapons as well as another backpack. He gets his bow and arrow and oof there he goes. It takes a day or two for them to finally meet up, but Izuku is being pursued by the Careers when Shouto arrives and kills one of them. I’m trying to have that big “It’s your power!” equivalent to this, but idk how to do that. Maybe Shouto sets fire to their resources of something. Using fire was how his father won and would probably be called the Flame Victor or something. So Shouto can use this as a weapon, too, idk.
Izuku and Shouto manage to get away from the rest of the careers. However, Shouto gets hurt and Izuku has to carry him away.
There has to be a child that reminds Izuku of Kouta, and it hurts my heart to pick Eri because she’s so smol, but Izuku will team up with her and protect her. Maybe…she can be his fellow tribute. Unfortunately, she gets killed. This is before Izuku and Shouto meet up btw. Izuku will feel horrible for not being able to save her and makes a makeshift funeral for her by laying flowers and decorating her hair. He’s devastated and cries and feels very depressed about it. There is an announcement that says that 2 tributes can go home together even if they are not from the same district. As long as they are working together, they can win.
So after Izuku and Shouto rescue each other and find each other, Izuku finds a good cave where they can rest and hide. Shouto has a fever and in his delirium, admits he was talking about Izuku when he said he has a crush on someone. Izuku is shocked and flattered and oh m y God, he has a crush on Izuku. Izuku.exe has stopped working. But he can’t fall in love when he’s trying to survive so what can he do???
This whole romance? The Capital is eating it up so good that there are sponsors lining up for Toshinori to send Izuku and Shouto resources. Enji is really angry about this turn out but at least his son is getting sponsors, too. Enji does not want to work together with Toshinori, but they have to since their kids are in this together for now.
As Izuku takes care of Shouto (thank goodness he knows about healing and medical stuff), they share a kiss and Izuku feels so light and oh God, he just kissed Shouto. The kiss garners them a lot more sponsors and they send them medicine and food that saves their lives. The medicine heals Shouto’s injury and the food gets them through a few days until Shouto recovers. Once they are able to get back on their feet and go again, it’s getting towards the end of the Games and they have to fight whoever is left.
Now Idk who the last tribute could be. He has to be stronger than Izuku and Shouto. My money is on Inasa just because I don’t like him. And I’m saving Katsuki to fit Gale, who is Katniss’ hunting friend. Gale takes care of Katniss’ family while she is in the Games. He also kinda likes her, but she never develops feelings for him. Anyways, yeah, in this au, Katsuki doesn’t like Izuku like that. They’re just friends who have worked together and know each other since childhood. Katsuki looks out for Inko and Kouta while Izuku is away. So yeah, Inasa fits Cato…because they’re both overly zealous and obsessive. So Shouto and Izuku have to fight Inasa. Izuku and Inasa wrestle each other (OH NOW I REMEMBER WHAT PEETA USED TO DO, HE USED TO WRESTLE) and Izuku is winning, but Inasa manages to pin him and so Shouto has to get a clean shot so he doesn’t kill them both. He manages to shoot Inasa and spare Izuku and Inasa falls off the Cornucopia where the mutant dogs are waiting for them. And you could just…imagine how that goes, he gets bitten and basically eaten. He begs to be killed and so Shouto kills him to end his suffering.
When Shouto and Izuku are the only ones left, there is an announcement saying that only one person can be the victor and now Izuku and Shouto must fight to the death for the title. Except they don’t want to do that. Shouto throws his bow and arrow to the ground and tells Izuku to kill him so that Izuku can go home. But Izuku refuses to do that. They had gathered wild berries called nightlock, which are poisonous, and Izuku suggest they eat them to commit suicide instead of one of them dying while the other one lives. Izuku couldn’t bear going home knowing Shouto was dead. And Shouto couldn’t do the same.
So they are about to eat the berries when the announcer stops them and declares them as Victors. 2 districts with a victor each ohmg!
This is dangerous because Izuku has caused a rebellion by refusing to play by the Games’ rules and win by their standards. Toshinori warns him to be careful because he will be watched carefully now. Shouto and Izuku are interviewed because they won and their romance gets more attention than what they did in the Games, which is good for them in a way…but also bad because the districts want to rebel. If Izuku, a boy from the poorest district could rebel, why not the rest of the districts?
So that’s why there’s the 75th hunger games where they get reaped again and have to be in the games with former victors.
Because Shouto is from a different district, he has to go back to his district by law. However, because he won with Izuku and they are “in love”, Shouto is allowed to move to Izuku’s district and live in the Victor’s village from district 12. This obviously angers Enji, but it’s something Shouto actually wanted.
Izuku and Shouto do like each other, but the tension of the Games and the politics is so much and they don’t know how to handle it. They are still close and amicable and support each other and they’re romantic, but Izuku is still confused because it was so sudden and he wasn’t able to explore his feelings. He trusts Shouto and has feelings for him. He just wants to fall in love with him properly.
They announce an engagement to appease the Capital so they can back off, but the districts are rebelling and using Izuku as a symbol of peace for their rebellion, something Izuku silently supports, but cannot speak about it out loud. The President wants him dead so that’s why they get the 75th hunger games with all the past victors. Because there are no female victors in district 12, 2 male victors must represent the district so Shouto and Izuku go again, this time as a couple and they are on fucking fire. They’re beautiful and attractive and the crowd loves them.
Toshinori is working behind the scenes with the rebellion to help these two escape the Games. Their allies are all in on the plan and they look out for them without tododeku knowing. They get rescued, but not before there is a clusterfuck going on where everyone is confused and nobody trusts each other.
Izuku is rescued, but Shouto gets captured and neither of them know what’s going on. Izuku gets taken to district 13, which had been thought to have been annihilated by the Capital, but they were actually underground this entire time. They are the rebellion and want Izuku to be their symbol of hope. And Izuku doesn’t want to be part of a war, but if it means helping everyone, he will do it.
Shouto gets taken to the Capital and is used as their own sort of symbol to arouse sympathy for the Capital. But in reality, he is getting tortured and brainwashed and abused. Izuku doesn’t know this. But he does see that with every new interview, Shouto doesn’t look healthy and he looks hurt and like he’s lost weight. He looks unhinged and nervous. That’s so unlike him. Izuku is obviously concerned and as one of his conditions to help district 13, he has asked for Shouto to be rescued at the earliest convenience or else he would not help them. So district 13 goes to rescue Shouto and they bring him back. And Izuku is excited to see him and he wants to hold and kiss him because his boyfriend is back by his side!!!
But because Shouto was tortured so much, he attacks Izuku on sight and tries to choke him to death. Toshinori manages to knock him out and Izuku is under hospital care. Toshinori explains that Shouto has been brainwashed so badly that he doesn’t know what’s real and what is fake, and he believes that Izuku is his enemy. When Izuku goes to see Shouto outside his room, he sees how he’s going crazy and is fighting his restraints and this hurts Izuku so much because he couldn’t do anything to help Shouto. Shouto thinks he’s his enemy.
It takes time for Shouto to calm down and to even talk to Izuku and they have a horrible interaction in which Shouto says that Izuku has been the source of all his problems and Izuku leaves in tears. He has hope in Shouto’s recovery, but it still hurts to be told such hate filled words.
Izuku is used for promoting the rebellion, but he’s really bad at commercial work, so Toshinori suggests that the camera crew gets him in action. They go to district 8 where there is a lot of rebellion going on and Izuku gives a speech and motivates them all to keep fighting. It ends in disaster, though, because the capital comes and basically bombs the hospital they’re in. And the camera crew gets some beautiful shots of Izuku being intense and genuine and motivating everyone to fight the capital.
(I think I have my sequence of events mixed up but whatever i’m really excited writing this alfakjfalk).
Anyways, Izuku has to train to be a soldier for the rebellion and goes through some intense training and he passes woot, he has to pass because he’s the symbol of hope, alfajfaklfa. So he gets sent with the camera crew and other victors and soldiers like Katsuki to go to the capital to bring them down. But district 13 discharges Shouto and they send him to the battlefield with Izuku and the rest, too. Shouto is calm for the most part until there is an attack and he goes feral and attacks Izuku, almost killing him. The crew has to separate them and one of the victors (Finnick, who is my 2nd favorite, deserves the world, deserves better, and I will fight for him) uses a tranquilizer on Shouto to get him to sleep. Izuku and the crew end up in an apartment where they have resources for now and get to watch the reports of the capital saying that he and the rest of the crew are dead. But they’re not, they’re hiding lmfao.
They go into the sewers to try to get to the capital faster, but the president sends mutts (mutant creatures) after them and they get attacked in the sewers. Shouto is the one that is able to warn them about it because he can’t sleep and also he recognizes the noises the mutts make. So the crew is able to get a headstart on their escape, but they still have to fight against them. Izuku is holding his own and fighting, but then gets knocked down by a mutt and almost gets killed. But Shouto saves him and gets him out of the water and helps him get away. They save each other so much here ohmg.
Izuku and the crew are able to escape (BUT THEY LOSE PEOPLE, INCLUDING FINNICK), and Izuku feels so incredibly guilty about the whole situation. Katsuki is also hurt so they have to help treat his wound, but it’s not that bad. Shouto helps Izuku realize that it’s so important what they’re doing and that everyone is depending on Izuku. Please motivate each other, boys, please I’m begging.
So they set up a plan for them to raid the President’s mansion and go in and kill him. Izuku and Katsuki go together and Shouto stays behind them so they don’t arouse suspicion. But there is an attack between the capital and district 13. Izuku, Shouto, and Katsuki are fighting, but Katsuki gets captured and tells Izuku to kill him, but Izuku doesn’t do that. He can’t do that. However, Izuku is witness to a mass bombing courtesy of district 13, which kills a lot of people from the capital who are gathered outside the president’s mansion. Medics are coming in to help and Izuku recognizes them as district 13 uniforms, and one of the medics is Kouta (he had been training to become a doctor, but the president from district 13 sent him along with other medics to ‘help heal those in need’). Izuku spots Kouta and calls out to him and hurries to him and Kouta sees him, but more bombs go off. And that kills not only the other medics and citizens, but also Kouta. And Izuku is sent flying backwards and gets knocked out, but Shouto comes to him and puts out the fire that was on Izuku from the bomb explosion.
The reason I have Katsuki as Gale is because Gale designed a plan using bombs. This plan is what’s used against the capital. This is what kills Kouta. Bombs and explosions…yeah that’s totally Katsuki. Plus Gale is angry and aggressive as shit and well, we all know who is like that, too.
After this, Izuku is struggling with processing what’s going on. The capital has fallen and the districts have won, but Izuku lost his little brother. He was the reason he volunteered in the first place, to keep him safe and alive. Izuku gets to talk to the president (All For One) and AFO tells him that he wasn’t the one who set those bombs, but rather district 13. He wouldn’t kill his own people from the capital. And that has Izuku thinking about it, too.
The president of district 13 (idk who this could be, this has to be someone Izuku is neutral with at the beginning, but feels betrayed by them later on) announces that there will be a Hunger Games for the capital children to participate as a way for retribution for the rest of the districts. Shouto is obvioulsy against this as well as a couple of other victors, but 2 other victors are in favor. Toshinori and Izuku have to give their votes and Izuku says he agrees to have those Games, but he gets to kill AFO. The president is delighted about this answer. Toshinori looks at Izuku and understands what he is doing and also agrees to these terms. But Shouto is not happy about it at all, saying the games are what caused all this problems in the first place. He’s disappointed in Izuku.
Izuku can’t forgive Katsuki for what happened to Kouta. Katsuki does apologize, but Izuku dismisses him, not forgiving him.
When it’s time to kill AFO, Izuku comes in with the rest of the rebels following him and the president of district 13 announces this like a ceremony. I imagine that Izuku was really good with using spears because he’s super strong, so this could be what he uses to kill AFO. However, because of what AFO said, Izuku understands that the president of district 13 caused all this destruction and SHE was the one that killed Kouta and the other medics and the capital citizens with the bombs. So instead, Izuku kills the president of district 13, and this causes the rebels behind him to charge at AFO to kill him. In the midst of the chaos, Izuku reaches for a suicide pill that he was given for the raid of the capital, and is about to take it when Shouto stops him. (This scene is so heart wrenching because Katniss tells Peeta to let her go, and he tells her he can’t.)
So Izuku gets taken by the guards (I want to say not arrested, detained), and is tried for what he did, but because of his deteriorating mental state, he is excused as being mentally insane. He’s let go and is able to go back to district 12 with Toshinori and Inko, but Izuku falls into a heavy depression because he can’t accept Kouta is dead. It takes a long time (I forgot how long) for him to like finally start to recover, but it’s because of Shouto’s return that he gets to breathe again, basically. And Izuku goes out to work on things again, building and lifting and doing all sorts of things now and Shouto is there for him, and Shouto is getting better, too. He was discharged some time after Izuku went home, but stayed in the capital to recover some more before he goes back to district 12 with Izuku, Inko, and Toshinori.
In the end, Izuku and Shouto move in together and get married. In the end, Katniss and Peeta have 2 kids and are happy together. I want for Izuku and Shouto to be happy, too, maybe adopt a couple of children. They’re set for life with their Hunger Games royalties, so they have more than enough money to spare, so they can raise their children happily. They still are mentally ill, those hunger games shits will never go away. But they manage it well. Shouto still has episodes where he has to grab on to things so that his mania can pass (he doesn’t go apeshit anymore, he just needs to hold on to something solid so it can pass), and Izuku and Shouto still have nightmares and depression and anxiety and PTSD, but they can live their lives. Shouto hunts. I don’t know what Izuku can do, but given how strong he is and how he can lift things, I image him building. Houses, buildings, idk? Or maybe his analytical mind led him to another line of work. I’m not sure, but they get to be happy in the end and they get to be together.
  Idea 2:
Shouto and Izuku live in the same district and have a similar childhood encounter to Katniss and Peeta with Peeta giving Katniss bread and saving her family and her from starving. There is no gendered reaping and Shouto and Izuku are reaped together for the Games. Shouto in his interview reveals he has a crush on Izuku and Izuku would be thrilled a lot more if they weren’t going to die. Then the rest happens like idea 1.
I just want a hunger games au. *cries*
I want to thank @edwardslostalchemy for this beautiful submission!!

In Consult - Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Characters: Jungkook, IU, OC, Lisa
Genre: Slowburn, Office!AU, Angst, Fluff, Mentions of Smut
Pairings: Jungkook x Y/N, Jungkook x IU
Chapter 1
Plot: Eri Kim. A 20-year old fresh graduate who got accepted into her first job as a process executive. Once she was introduced to the production floor, there she met Yukio Mita. A tenured agent who was assigned to help the new hires out, including herself. Slowly as time goes by, Eri found herself being attracted to Yukio. Seems harmless right? That’s when she realizes Yukio has a girlfriend. Would she continue on with her feelings or should she back off?
New faces. New clothes. New surroundings. Seeing handbags and sophisticated things in their hands instead of piles of readings and a backpack is so weird to me. They all look so… serious and mature. Am I really in the right place? Thank God I’m with Hisa. Grinning at her widely as I tug on her sleeve. “You ready?” I ask as Hisa grins, shaking her head softly as he sighs. “Lets get it on bitch.”
Walking straight inside the building, being greeted warmly by the staff as we both grin widely, saying our hellos loudly as we giggle, running inside to the hall where we’re going to have our first few orientations from the company.
The start was already going so good. Just when we thought it couldn’t get better, we thought wrong. Walking into another building, seeing the biggest search engine in the world’s logo in the lobby of the office made my jaw drop. Holy shit, it was real. It wasn’t a scam.
“Ya.. this is the real shit. Can you imagine we’re going to work at this kind of place?” I mumble a whisper to Hisa, who was equally checking out the place, nodding slowly. “Jackpot.”
Imagine getting any better than that? Huh. The following week, we went to another building. They said this is where we’ll work. And might I just say, Holy Lord God did I save a whole country in my afterlife to deserve this kind of work and workplace? Jesus Christ.
The smell of fresh lavender engulfing my nose as we walk around the lobby of our building, seeing the fun and quirky seats on the sides and the big sign of “Diagonally” on the receptionist’s desk. The staff smiling widely as we were escorted to the conference room, it didn’t even look like a conference room at all. It felt like a theater if I were to be honest.
“Working here would be a fucking dream.” I mumble loud enough for Hisa to hear. “I know.” She replies. And then our trainer came in, introduced herself and I’ve never had a more friendly trainer in my life.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Being able to work in one of the biggest and most prestigious companies in the world, it’s expected that the training period would take forever. Thank God our trainer was kind enough to teach us everything there is in the easiest way possible. She made us understand clearly every lesson and tool we were to use at the production floor, where we’re going to work.
We were already enjoying the time we spent with each and everyone in our wave. Our trainer, even the room where we’re always at. We were starting to get comfortable - well at least I was. I had people I can call as mom and dad, a few pairs at least. But before we knew it, we were being sent down to the production floor for nesting. You can call it as a trial period to see if you’re fit for the work given or if you’ll have to say goodbye.
Nerve-wrecking. Anxious. Everything negative I was already feeling it. Do you know that feeling when your gums suddenly gets so itchy you can’t do anything about it? Yeah. That kind of feeling. God, we were going to be put to the test, whether we’re worthy enough to handle cases or are we just not for this job.
First day at the job, even though I was part of the less fortunate people in our wave who only had one day of rest for that week, I was excited and scared at the same time. A part of it was because Hisa’s schedule is different from mine. Separation Anxiety? Maybe. Walking into the office, all dressed up and had a smile on my face as I greeted the security guard before finally entering the production floor. Hm, Odd enough there wasn’t many people present that day - well it was a sunday so I guess it’s understandable.
You know those typical scenes in the movies where everyone’s rushing to get the papers off their hands, or when they’re running around the floor trying to read the papers they had as quick as possible while drinking their steaming hot coffee? Yeah i didn’t see that in our office. It’s a lot more… chill here.
“Wave 48?” I was taken back to reality when a girl with pretty highlights on her hair and comfy clothes called out our wave, smiling widely as we all walk towards her and two other guys beside her, greeting them a good afternoon since it was almost going to be 2pm, start of our first shift. Our first day.
“Okay, so just look for an open station where no one’s assigned to and go log in. Once everyone’s settled we’ll be starting the shift.” She explains with a smile as we all disperse to look for a place we’d be comfortable in working at. Settling for a seat close to the window just because the view looks so gorgeous. Something I can look out at when I already feel stressed from the cases I’ll be receiving.
It’s been about fifteen minutes since I’ve logged in onto my laptop, just scrolling through the tools that we’ll be using as well as looking at my social media accounts here and there when the Production floor GC started to make noise. “Hello, I’ll be assigning 5 cases per person in awhile.” Someone said in the gc while we all acknowledged, waiting for the cases to load onto our laptops as I plug in my earphones, already opening up spotify to play some music to distract my nervousness.
“Don’t worry, you can ask us for clarifications before you send out the emails you’ll be composing. Just track them onto the tracker when you’re done and wait for our go signal.” They explained as we were all nodding and getting ready to show them what we’ve got.
Actually handling a live case was more nerve-wracking than I thought it would. “Hey.. Queen. Are you ready?” I mumble as I grin widely, nudging her shoulder as she looks at me with a confused face. “Do you think we have a choice?” She spits back as I hum in agreement, leaning back to my seat as I see the queue on my laptop change. Fuck. I have cases now.
Totally forgetting everything I’ve learned from training, I start to panic just from reading the first few lines of their issue. “Jesus Christ… why did I not listen…” I mumble against myself as I bite my lower lip nervously, sighing deeply as I shake my head gently. Re-reading the case as I get the things I need to take down to assist the person contacting us. Taking down notes on what to take a screenshot on, to see if they’re eligible for it, checking every little thing before I go and look for someone available to ask if what I did was correct.
Biting my lower lip as I look over my friend, Queen, who was already stressing over her own cases I decided not to disturb her. Getting up as I look around for an available tenured agent to ask from. Almost giving up as I see the girl from before have everyone else surrounding her, I see a guy wearing a red jacket, a little on the thin side, maybe the same height as I am also very quiet. I also remembered he was with the girl from before, Cathy, yes.
“Hi? Can I ask you or?” I mumble out as I walk forward, unsure if I should go on and ask him or not since he wasn't even looking at me. Slowly, he turned his head towards me with a neutral look on his face before nodding slowly. “Okay.. so he’s asking about having this official badge.. I’m not quite sure if what I’m doing is right so… can you help me out?” I ask as I try to walk back to my station, hoping he was right behind me as I sit on my chair, showing him the inquiry as he leans down, reading the query quietly, nodding. “Hm.. yeah. You can just take a screenshot of his homepage, as well as his writings to see if he’s authorized to these and then you can send the email to him.” He says quietly as he nods before walking back to his station. Already saying “Yes” to my case on the trix, making it good to go for sending the email.
“That was easy.. I guess?” I say to myself as I send my very first email of the day. My very first email as an employee. I hum at myself as I take a look back at the matrix. Reviewer’s name: Yukio. So his name’s Yukio, nice to meet you Yukio.

BnHA Chapter 146: Why Are We Still In This Basement
Previously on BnHA: Flashback!Kirishima nearly gave up on his dream of becoming a hero after freezing up during a sudden villain encounter. But then he watched an old interview with his hero Crimson Riot, in which Crimson admitted that he felt fear just as much as anyone. He said that having a manly spirit doesn’t mean being confident or not feeling fear; it means doing your best to live your life without regret. After hearing this, flashback!Kiri had a quick montage and turned into first-day-at-U.A.!Kiri, dyeing his hair and spiking it up and declaring that he was saying goodbye to his former self. Back in the present, our current beat-up Kiri thought to himself that he still gets afraid regularly, but that what he fears most is reverting back to the way he used to be. Hot Gum -- who, you will recall, had charged up an attack by absorbing the energy from the villain’s punches -- told the bad guys they had underestimated Kirishima’s manly heart, and then punched the shit out of them.
Today on BnHA: Hot Gum flashes back to when Kirishima applied for an internship at his agency. He was excited to have someone with Kiri’s “can-do energy”, but Kiri admitted that that was all he had, and that he wants to be more than that and be someone who can protect people. Back in the present, Chance the Rappa is all “I’m not dead yet!” and gets back to his feet. Hot Gum is all “oh shit”, but then Rappa directs him toward a room with first aid supplies and tells him to tend to Kiri’s wounds. He says that both sides are basically all out of strength, but he wants to continue the fight because he really!! loves!! fighting!!!, and so he wants the others to heal up because he’s taken a personal interest in them -- Kiri especially. Hot Gum heals Kiri up and congratulates him on being acknowledged even by the enemy. We then finally! cut to Overhaul, who’s headed down a corridor with Eri and one of his minions. He’s holding the finished quirk-be-gone serum, and he tells his new “temps” -- Toga and Twice -- to get to work.
I may or may not have lost my patience completely and started ranting and raving halfway through this chapter. Just giving y’all a heads up. I kind of hit my limit lol.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 176 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
OHHHHH SNAP YOU GUYS LOOK AT THIS
Tumblr media
LOOK AT ALL OF THESE LOSERS
OH I SEE, DEKU, SO YOU STILL CAN’T TIE A FREAKING HALF WINDSOR, BUT YOU CAN TIE A BOWTIE HUH. OR IS THAT A CLIP-ON?? OH MY GOD IT’S A CLIP-ON ISN’T IT
MEANWHILE BAKUGOU WILL STRAIGHT UP JUST NEVER WEAR A TIE NO MATTER WHAT. BUT OH MY GOD LOOK AT HIM ALL DRESSED UP LIKE A KHR CHARACTER, YES, GOOD, I LIKE THIS
BEST JEANIST IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER I SEE YOUUUU
AIZAWA DIDN’T BOTHER TO DRESS UP EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW HE’S CAPABLE OF IT. JUST WORE HIS NORMAL PAJAMAS UNIFORM LIKE USUAL. LAZY ASS
MIRIO I MISS YOU ARE YOU DEAD
ALL MIGHT WEARING A SUIT THAT FITS OH MY GOD. EVEN WITH IT BEING SCHOOL BUS YELLOW IT STILL LOOKS GOOD
TODOROKI’S BODY LANGUAGE IS MYSTERIOUS AND HILARIOUS
PRETTY MUCH ALL THE CHARACTERS FROM U.A. AND THE INTERNSHIP ARC ARE HERE, BUT THERE ARE OTHER CHARACTERS MISSING SUCH AS RECOVERY GIRL, NAOMASA, AND THE STUDENTS & FACULTY FROM SHIKETSU AND KETSUBUTSU. AND OF COURSE ALL THE VILLAINS
AND YET BEST JEANIST STILL GOT TO BE THERE EVEN THOUGH HE’S NOW LAID UP IN A HOSPITAL SOMEWHERE. GOD BLESS YOU
the hype text is talking about the climax of the battle against the Eightfold Cleansers. dare I hope?? this arc has gone on for a bazillion years. and it feels even longer due to me taking such a long time to read it. but I recently passed chapter 100 in the tumblr recaps, and I thought to myself that I’d better get going again or before I know it I’m actually going to catch up and not have anything new to post lol
all right! so Hot Gum just finished punching the shit out of those two villains and now they’re KOed. thank fuck
but Kiri isn’t looking good omg
Tumblr media
GET HIM SOME HELP
Kiri’s weakly mumbling “who’s there” and Hot Gum is all “IT’S ME, FAT GUM, I’M JUST HOT NOW”
Kiri’s really out of it and muttering that he’ll protect him. “gotta do... what I can...”
and wow. are you guys really gonna do this to my emotions right now. really. really
now we’re flashing back to the first time they met, I guess! they’re at FG’s office and FG is all “wow Tamaki you actually brought a friend”
and he recognizes Kirishima from the sports festival and he likes the cut of his jib!
he’s complaining that Tamaki always gets too nervous at the festival “and ends up in last place every year!”
then how did he land this internship with you I wonder
(ETA: ??? mystery)
Kiri says that Fourth Kind said the same thing at his previous internship (about liking rambunctious guys with guts and a positive attitude)
but he says that’s all he has
oh shit Eijirou I thought we were done with your angst. this isn’t fucking fair, I yield already
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YOU’RE NOT SWEETIE, YOU JUMPED IN TO PROTECT HOT GUM LIKE A CHAMP. JUST HANG OUT THERE AND REST NOW
-- ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
Tumblr media
BUT THE HYPE TEXT. SAID. WE WERE REACHING THE GODDAMN CLIMAX
Tumblr media
THEN FUCKING DIE ALREADY!!!
Hot Gum is thinking a bunch of “oh shit why isn’t he dead, I used up all my shit, we’re screwed” thoughts, and meanwhile I’m wondering if this arc is actually going to end, like, ever
can we please rescue Eri already please!! the Kiri flashbacks were good but even those went on for so long, and why the fuck is this stupid basement arc being dragged out like this?! WHY. I GIVE UP
Chance the Rappa is telling Hot Gum to tend to Kirishima’s wounds. at first he refers to him as a kid, but then he changes it to “man”
whatever dude I don’t even care. that’s so nice that you respect him, now could you please LIE DOWN AND DIE ALREADY so we can save Eri!! and find out what happened to Mirio! and see what Aizawa and THE GODDAMN MAIN CHARACTER are up to jesus christ
but no we’re still in this scene! Hot Gum’s staring at him like “are you serious”
Tumblr media
all of this happened because Horikoshi started working on that fucking movie. that’s it, isn’t it. all his energy was going into that and he started neglecting the actual series. and we get stuff like this that no one fucking cares about and it should have ended five chapters ago
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m actually starting to look back fondly on the damn Hosu arc. remember Stain?? he may have never shut up, but at least he was defeated within a reasonable amount of chapters, and didn’t lead a bunch of heroes through a boring maze to take on a bunch of fifth-tier villains. who don’t even have interesting character designs because they’re all wearing THE SAME GODDAMN MASK. AND IS THIS SOME SORT OF PURGATORY, OR WHAT
but fine! gotta power through! so now Tengai is also sitting up because OF COURSE HE IS, and he’s telling Rappa not to act so selfishly, and to remember his duty, and blah blah blah
aaaaaaand Rappa’s stomping on his face
Tumblr media
THEN FUCKING DIE!!! HOLY SHIT I’M GOING FULL BAKUGOU HERE. IS THIS HOW HE FEELS ALL THE TIME. NO WONDER HE CAN’T STAND ANYONE
Hot Gum’s asking wtf does Rappa want, and Rappa says he wants them to kill each other
now he’s telling us his life story!!
he came from an underground fight club where people were allowed to use quirks
Tumblr media
did he actually kill all of them. psycho
now he’s screaming at Hot Gum that he really wanted a good fight that actually challenged him. “the kind of power that only comes from putting your life on the line”
he says the two of them met his challenge, “especially the red-head”
please leave him alone. you’re already well on your way to becoming my least favorite character in the whole fucking series, which, wow
he’s shouting for them to heal up so he can continue their death match
Tumblr media
you... do realize that’s not the greatest incentive, there
Rappa’s walking to the fucking door
Hot Gum is all “you know you lost the fight and you’re gonna be arrested, right?”
but Rappa says he didn’t lose and that if nobody dies then it’s a draw
and Hot Gum’s just watching him like “wow what a weirdo”
and now he’s picking up Kirishima who looks so small in his arms! :/
Tumblr media
:|!!!!
Rappa is STILL there for some reason, and he’s all “I want another proper go at killin’ him!”
WE KNOW. YOU WON’T FUCKING SHUT UP ABOUT IT AND THIS ENTIRE CHAPTER HAS JUST BEEN YOU NOT SHUTTING UP. AND IT’S PROBABLY ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE FOURTEEN-PAGE CHAPTERS, ISN’T IT. IT IS, ISN’T IT
EVEN KIRI’S SLEEPING FACE CAN’T SOOTHE MY FRUSTRATION
Tumblr media
EVEN THOUGH IT’S SO PURE AND SWEET AND OH MY GOD PLEASE HELP HIM
jesus fuck, we finally cut to another scene, and just for a moment I dared to hope we were finally cutting back to something else relevant
but no
Tumblr media
I mean, I won’t complain that they’re taking the time to show how Kirishima got treated so he didn’t fucking die. that makes me feel a little better. but if they don’t cut back to Deku and co. within the next page, I’m about to full on lose it
what the fuck is this guy doing here??
Tumblr media
so we’re just best friends now. he’s just gonna hang out with you all for the rest of the arc
and why not, let’s ask him all about his past, because it’s so fucking interesting. fuck
Tumblr media
and with that, we cut to another two-chapter flashback all about Rappa’s fight club. and it features no fewer than seven new side characters, several of whom end up getting their own flashbacks. because that’s all life is anymore. it’s flashbacks and side characters all the way down
but really he’s just answering that he became a villain because Overhaul’s the only guy he ever lost to
Overhaul why couldn’t you have just kept him disassembled
ooh we’re actually gonna see it
Tumblr media
if only
Tumblr media
god damn it Overhaul
(ETA: so how come he remembers all this anyway? when Overhaul did the same thing to the Tarantino gang, they lost all memories of their encounter with him. his control over his quirk is so great he can even control whether or not a person’s memory stays intact?? damn, Overhaul)
lmao since then he’s gone on to challenge him five additional times. wtf. what did you expect to change
Hot Gum is like “um so you’re telling me Overhaul could take on this guy with all his speed and power like it was nothing?”
well, yes. since all he has to do is touch him, and poof, dead
so he’s wondering why Overhaul is making his underlings do all the fighting for him while he runs and hides
because that’s what underlings are for, Dumb Gum
he asking what does Overhaul want to do
Tumblr media
(ETA: yeah you stfu Tengai)
that’s not very specific or helpful
oh shit. but he’s adding that he overheard him talking about how he’d be “spreading” something, “and lots of it”
ERIIIIII
Tumblr media
WHOSE HAND IS THAT ON HER ARM, IS IT HIS?? YOU FUCKING CREEP
oh my god finally finally finally we’re getting back to the fucking plot
I’m not even relieved. I feel more like someone who just weathered a natural disaster and is all “how am I even still alive”
so we’re going back in time a bit to right after the invasion started
don’t think about how they could have cut right to this and shrunk the cast down to just the essentials and cut Kiri’s fight time in half without losing any impact. don’t think about how we could have been done with this arc already. don’t think about
okay so the guy in the hooded cloak (I straight up forgot his name, it’s been ages. future me will have to pick up my slack) is carrying Eri, who looks terrified
(ETA: oh is that how it’s gonna be. lol. this is Chronostasis, everyone. and I’m pretty sure past me thought this was still the bearded babysitter guy tbh. but just wearing a cloak now. in my defense, there’s literally no way to tell that it’s a different guy)
they’re talking about the future of the Precepts
Hood says this is the end for them, but Overhaul says that as long as he and the boss are around, the Precepts won’t die
apparently most of their henchmen are loyal to the boss and not Overhaul
oh snap look at this
Tumblr media
“finished” product???!
holy shit. it may have been a while, but you can bet I haven’t forgotten the most intriguing thing about this arc
-- HOLY SHIT?!
Tumblr media
VILLAINS THAT I ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT OMGGGGG
TOGA!! AND TWICE!!! MY TWO FAVES!
Tumblr media
YOU GUYS AREN’T ALLOWED TO DIE JUST FYI!! I SWEAR TO GOD IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO YOU GUYS AND FUCKING RAPPA STICKS AROUND INSTEAD, I WILL RAGE QUIT THIS SERIES
fucking finally something interesting is happening omg
so I guess next chapter will be what I was hoping for from this chapter. lol this was almost a complete waste of time. talk about last minute saves
BONUS:
Tumblr media
Bakugou out here saying what we’re all thinking
why are Sero and Kami so damn zen. you guys are MIA too, you know. is it really so funny to see Baku all pissed off that it’s worth not being in the story yourselves for 40-something chapters? ...okay, fair enough. you trolls
but I’m sorry Horikoshi, it says a lot that even you acknowledged this in an omake, joke or no joke. it means he definitely noticed how the arc reads in hindsight and how long it stretches on for
thankfully I’m pretty sure this is the last of the really dull chapters. League of Villain antics are just around the corner, and then our best boy Mirio will finally be up to bat. finally a light at the end of the tunnel y’all

Let's go for a drive
Let's go for a drive. This morning we arose to the most delicious bakery scent floating through the air. We had to find where it was coming from so we got organized and set out to track down the smell. A few blocks over we landed upon a little bakery called Da Braud. There we indulged in the most delicious French pastries. I will be thinking about that cinnamon bun for the rest of my life. We said goodbye to our warm and quaint hotel and the beautiful Reykjavik and said hello to the Icelandic ring road. As soon as we got outside the city we were constantly pulling over, stopping to take pictures. Around each bend the landscape changed. It is by far the most beautiful place I've ever been. Some parts felt as if we were in Ireland, then Switzerland, a black sand dessert, then on the movie set of game of thrones, Vikings, and Jurassic park. The lime green moss covered mountains look like paintings on a planet that we don't live on. We were constantly in awe. Visiting site after site we spent the day hiking, taking pictures, sitting at waterfalls, in the lavender bushes, and random glass lakes. The energy that Iceland has that everyone always talks about it truly unbelievable. literally bursting through the ground. Hot springs every few kilometres, geysirs busting through the ground, steam from the ground rising, moss growing on everything, water constantly rushing by, lavender bushes covering the land, baby sheep, cows, goats, and horses just learning how to walk. Yet everything is silent and calm, even at the main tourist attractions, everyone just silently appreciates the natural beauty. The beautiful weather quickly turned into pouring rain making us a litter ery about setting up tent. We were warned that the next 2 days of camping on this side of the island could be very windy and to keep caution. Well the locals weren't lying. There was no hope for setting up a tent. Sleeping in the car was the only option. Oh how we love the 24 hour sunlight. We had one of the most interesting nights though. At 1 in the morning we decided to check out a mysterious attraction that not many people go to see. Google maps had told us from where the parking lot was that it was a 15 minute walk to get to the site. Well, I can tell you that it was lying. 2 hours later of walking through the most intense winds, getting wind burnt faces, freezing, and the only hour of darkness we managed to get to the site. There we arrived in the middle of no where of miles of black sand was a plane crash. It was sort of an unsettling feeling but yet incredible. Here we are in the middle of no where, looks like we are on mars, black sand everywhere, and a stark white plane wreck. Just the 2 of us. It was a night I'll always remember. After finally making the long, exhausting, walk back to our car; which included a few meltdowns...we got into our sleeping bags, parked our car in a lavender field right next to the Skogasfoss waterfall. Easily the most breathtaking and unreal camping site.
