Once again did the ante find itself stationed at familiar highs. In many ways, fate did have it that before them, opposition of increasingly finer caliber would often appear. Whereas Dan Heng's gaze remained a pinnacle of conscious focus, Caelus held a different front, prideful eyes narrowed towards the sweeping storm of electrical currents that shuddered like a tumultuous hall around their foe. Singers of Imaginary desolation would revolve in harmless in that turbulent strength, seemingly empowered.

"Say. They're all just barking up a tree for charge time." Caelus begins, a shift of understanding edged within his gazes. A friendly swat upon the shoulder, harmless and light would be made on his friend's shoulder, a fine confidence bolstered within his tone. "Think you can get me there while I concentrate on this new card I've been cookin' up? I got a move in mind, and we can wire some techniques to shatter this whole domain."

A taste for fresher air was heavily overdue.

The demand was for their movements to once more transcend the scales of lightning, one as heavily and heightened as the distorted standard of the Fragmentum. The solemn nod was all he needed to hear, and as their forms braced to begin a sudden advance, the opposing foes sung their hymns and allowed the tremors of thunder to growl in the surroundings, allowing a symphonic light show to glimmer up ahead.

"Time to show 'em what hell looks like, Dan Heng."

Their own forms would immediately jolt with speed so profound that the actual shockwave lagged for a second before erupting. In a funneled stir of wind pressure, a special zone of pure agility that only heightened fighters are privy to, their advance was seamless as they made their charge to the thunderous behemoth. Allowing for faith to be his calm and his guide, he keeps true to the plan, allowing the essence of Destruction to gradually be harnessed as a new form found itself realized. The power in itself aimed to gnaw at his flesh, his foes, his friends, the very space all around him, yet it remains controlled.

It'd be the heavenly spearwork made by his companion that allows such concentration to be possible. Similar to a zephyrous fang repeatedly finding its mark, whether it was lightning unbound, or the calamitous golden fury that rained from above, all of it would find it countered. For them to effortlessly reach a state of deflecting all of these attacks, Caelus was aware of Dan Heng operating at a pace five times as fast as his own lethal speed.

Decisive counterattacks, blow backs of power, it wasn't simply a dance made in deflecting away all harm. No, it was a blur of precision and finesse that allowed a swarm of self-made attacks and brutal counters to eliminate all obstruction. Multiple foes found themselves with their heads gouged as they dissolved, elemental birds were eradicated body first before the crystallized wings could even realize. It allows a simple thought to strengthen the smile on the Trailblazer's lips.

He's damn glad a guy like this is on his side.

All of this was being performed while keeping an intentionally set pace surrounding him no less!

Once they found themselves eclipsed by the beast's massive frame, one of those legs encased in violet armor had raised for a stomp, a frightening focus on high voltage seized as a second layer around their frame.

"Caelus!" The decisive call was made, time found itself all wrapped up! In truth? It was more than enough, the warning instead eliciting that fiendish grin upon the Trailblazer's face. Oh oh oh did it feel good to fight alongside his allies.

"Let's tear 'em to shreds!" A decisive vault would draw them directly towards that incoming attack!

Entropic Retribution!

The sweltering culmination of Destruction found itself compressed with the force of a blazing star, locked underneath the damnable dominion of this bastard it ached to be free from. The highly focused attack would find itself locked into his gilded grip, spear and fist united for that chaotic moment of impact. Lightning, gale and destruction, the following meet within the dimensional zone's epicenter had caused its falsified reality to shake. The ground for miles had stretched into a series of webbed cracks, heated fissures of Destruction seething through the skies as the caster and his companion's forms were safely coated by the power.

The same couldn't be said for the beast above. The wind allowed direction, giving Caelus's Path power a vicious spiral to take advantage of, causing the melting like effect of the Retribution technique to enfeeble both the electricity and its body.

In the end, that gargantuan body was forced to the heavens, the bodies of the Nameless tearing decisively through its entire frame, bisecting their foe and destroying the pivotal nail that allowed this corrosive zone to persist. They were akin to a glimmering star streaking towards the heaven's, the remnant visceral of electrical plasma being their twisted wings as an explosion erupts from underneath.

It’s too bad the Hamatos can’t go almost anywhere in the Hidden City without getting banned from a place or committing a crime or being blamed for a crime and then banned from a place because the Hidden City must contain a treasure trove of basic items that would help their specific mutations. I like to imagine that they sometimes do manage to go a day without too much incident to get some of these items.

Like, special lotions for Yokai scales, brushes made especially for shelled humanoids, clothing made to fit their forms better, etc, etc. Even Splinter could probably find a lot of stuff for like fur and teeth care that’s hard to find above ground.

They’d gotten by more than well on their own, but there’s a certain luxury to be had for specially made stuff infused with all sorts of healing mystic properties as well. Imagine they all had aches and pains they’d just dealt with for years only to realize that oh wait…I don’t have to feel like this all the time?

the thing about watcher is I think buzzfeed unsolved fucked them over. both in terms of numbers but also in terms of output. if you go to buzzfeed unsolved network and sort by popular, you have to scroll past 84 videos before you get below 10mil views. and a lot of those are 5-7 years old, so those are numbers they would've been looking at when deciding to break off from buzzfeed (the first watcher video was posted 4 years ago). they thought they could get big numbers without constantly churning out videos, because that's what they'd gotten with buzzfeed unsolved. and I'm sure they adjusted their projected numbers to account for people not following over to the new channel, but I doubt they predicted their top videos would be in the 8mil views range (which is still a lot, but not what they had pulled in the past).

so they aren't getting old buzzfeed unsolved numbers, but that's okay! look at the try guys - they aren't putting up millions of views every video and they're able to have a company with a decent amount of employees. and this is where the output issue comes in. between their main channel and their various podcasts, try guys is putting out 5 videos a week, with 2 being main channel videos. watcher is putting out 3 with 1 being a main channel video. plenty of people who have been making videos for a while have talked about the youtube grind and the algorithm - there's a reason daily vlogs and content houses got so big. and watcher didn't want to do that grind. from the beginning they've said they want to do seasons of shows. which is feasible! again, this is something try guys does with without a recipe. but the difference is try guys has quick and cheap videos they can put out in between and concurrently with those big shows that help support them. eat the menu is their best example of this because it gets big numbers. watcher doesn't really have filler videos.

to further the try guys comparison, buzzfeed unsolved limited the type of content fans were looking for in a way try guys was never limited because trying new things is a really fucking broad category. try guys was always more about the people than the specific thing they were trying. obviously a lot of fans of watcher like ryan and shane (and to a lesser extent steven, based on how many people are blaming him specifically for this). but I'm sure there were also people only watching because they liked true crime and/or ghost hunting content, which makes it harder to branch out and retain ghost files numbers on their other shows.

overall, they thought they could be buzzfeed with just unsolved, and that's not how youtube works and now it's fucking them over that they got too ambitious too fast

What if Chay moves on from Kim and starts bringing over people from clubs and college parties to the minor family house ? Except once when Kim comes over to the minor fam house at Kinn's request for "personally verifying the money leaks Porsche found out and see if he could update the security in any way possible while he's at it " , and he runs a *bit* late . Kim gracefully accepts Porsche's invitation to "crash opposite to Chay's room , that's where his friends stay over sometimes . Chay's my brother by the way, have you guys met?😄".

And Kim has to listen to Porchay and some ba**ard loudly make their way to Porchay's suite in what was so late at night that it was early in the morning , even by Kim's standards.

i’m glad i’m not the only one worried here. great for the team and all, but this feels like chaos waiting to happen. i thought we finally had it. even if we didn’t get a wdc, they couldn’t even bother to try and prioritize charles for once.

You're not alone in feeling like this! Being worried and not immediately jumping for joy and accepting every decision the team makes isn't any less valid. Because this is weird, this is unusual, this is something I never thought would happen. It's a lot to process. I've cycled through all five stages of grief today, from "oh lol funny memes" to "alright what the fuck does this mean for Charles?"

I get that a lot of people are super hyped about this, especially if you've always supported both drivers, I get that it must feel like a dream come true.

I'm so conflicted because on one hand, okay, maybe our concerns are unwarranted, maybe this will be the best thing ever, just what the team/Charles needs, massive success all around. But unfortunately I'm a chronic overthinker with pessimistic tendencies so of course I worry 🧍����‍♀️

But also, like you said, I thought Ferrari were done with bringing in world champions in favour of making world champions, you know? This just feels like it's going to complicate something that's already very volatile and complicated all on its own (see: plethora of issues that usually held Charles back, whether it be mismanagement or poor strategy, etc.) It already felt like everything needed to come together perfectly for him to maximise his chance of winning and now they throw this massive curveball and I really don't know what to think. Especially given the "multi year" deal (2+1 is I think the version journalists have settled on.)

It kind of just feels like the issues that already existed with Sainz will be magnified, you know? The media machine around Lewis is huge, so that's going to be ten times as intense (Sky is already putting down Charles and it's just going to get so much worse), the fan wars ten times as intense... It just feels like he can't win in any scenario, like all the work he's put in so far to get Ferrari back to their winning ways will be overshadowed by the new big star signing. If they create a competitive package and start winning when Lewis enters the team (even if Charles did the heavy lifting in terms of feedback and development) he will be credited for the team's success. I mean, just look at the way this misleading narrative of Carlos "single-handedly saving the strategy" stuck. Oftentimes people don't care about the facts, if a narrative appeals to them they will perpetuate it.

Plus, there will be so much pressure on Ferrari to "get Lewis that 8th title!!!" Mercedes's inability to do so soured a lot of fans' relationship with the team. If Ferrari really puts team interests above driver interests, then I'm sure they'd see the value in being the team that makes that happen. History book worthy stuff. Kind of concerned that in the midst of that Charles and his ambitions and goals might fall by the wayside. And he's got way more to lose in this situation—no matter how Lewis's time at Ferrari goes, he's a multiple WDC, no one's ever going to take that away from him. Same with Fernando, same with Seb. Charles has never even had a proper chance to go for one title with the team yet.

Like, if you think about it, you have clear "eras", right? Someone says Red Bull, you immediately associate them with Max and/or Seb. Lewis will, I think understandably, be associated with Mercedes due to his long stint and all the success he's enjoyed at the team. I guess I imagined that Ferrari was finally gearing up to be that with Charles going forward. But this shakes things up massively and while winning a championship with Ferrari was already a tall order, now it's, like, full on a herculean task.

Super hot take. I mean like the hottest take ever in the history of rabbits. The literal spiciest take of all time. The carolina reaper of takes, even.

If a color variety is endemic to a breed, it should probably, in many if not most cases, be an accepted variety for that breed.

Ok so now that all the color purists are foaming at the mouth and running to their keyboards to chew me out, lemme explain for those who might not know what I'm talking about. As usual, this will be lengthy and in depth because I am incapable of Shutting Up.

Those three color varieties are black, brown (chestnut/agouti), and fawn. The thing with these three color varieties is that with one main exception (we'll get to that in a moment), you're not going to get any colors except those three when you intermix them. If you breed a black to a brown, you'll get browns and blacks. If you breed a brown to a fawn, you'll probably get browns. It makes sense to generally not want to intermix them though, because in theory if you mix these colors, it can result in the kits not having quite the depth of color you want (apparently. This is what I was told by other Silver breeders). A black to a brown could result in browns with too much black, and blacks that aren't as deep as would be desirable. A brown to a fawn could result in browns that are just too dull or light in color. I can understand the reasoning behind not wanting to do this kind of color mixing, especially in a breed where fur color is such an important part of their Standard of Perfection. (In fact, other than silvering and fur texture.. it is *the most important* part in the modern Silver standard... I have opinions on that, but I've shared some of those in a separate post)

Example that I am currently aware of in the breed I am currently working with: The Silver technically only has three accepted color varieties for the breed in the United States (four in the UK, but we'll get to that in a moment). That means there are only three color varieties that can be shown, and generally means only three color varieties that will be considered 'part of the breed.'

Remember how I mentioned about the UK having a fourth accepted color variety? You'd think - well considering the only other endemic color that isn't red-eyed white is tort, it's gotta be tort, right? NOPE. It's blue. Where does blue fit in the other three color varieties? It doesn't. It's the dilute of black, yes, but the dilute gene isn't present in any of the other varieties, so technically, dilute isn't a gene that should generally exist in the breed. The only way you can get purebred blue Silvers is to import them from the UK. Other than that, you've got to do some crossbreeding in order to get it, and doing that means you need years and years of careful breeding to take all the traits of the rabbit you're using for crossbreeding out of the breed you're going for. It's a long, difficult process that requires a lot of breeders to work on it, a lot of money, a lot of cage space, and a lot of culling. There had been a Certificate of Development (CoD) for blue Silvers in the states, but it just expired this year because folks just couldn't keep up with it and there wasn't enough interest I guess.

The one typical exception is black to fawn. This pairing can result in a new color, known as black tortoiseshell (or black tort - I'll just be referring to it as 'tort' here). Basically that means the rabbit has a primarily fawn body with black points and black belly/side markings. The other less typical exception is red-eyed white, but this is, so far as I can tell, fairly rare compared to tort in the case of Silvers. Which is good, because perhaps the most important part of a Silver is the silvering, and you can't see silvering if the rabbit is already white. This is one case where a potentially endemic color variety is one that definitely shouldn't be accepted I think, especially considering it's not a common thing to have pop up.

(disclaimer for the two above paragraphs; this is based on the knowledge I have of rabbit color genetics. I absolutely do not claim to be an expert in color genetics and it is a topic I am definitely still learning. If something mentioned is inaccurate, please let me know!!)

Why is that relevant? Because one of the main reasons I was told why tort Silvers shouldn't be a thing, other than just being told that "we don't need another variety," is that getting a CoD and creating a new variety is such a long and difficult process.

That's just it though - it's not a long and difficult process in this case. The color variety already exists in the breed. There's no need to worry about the rabbits having the wrong body or fur type or not having enough silvering any more than you would any other Silver, because they're already purebred Silvers. The effort is minimal, to be honest. It wouldn't be any different than breeding and showing any other 'normal' Silver with the exception of needing to write the standard - which, again, would be as easy as looking at any other breed's standard for the black tort coloration and pretty much just copying and pasting that into the color section. Is it maybe more difficult than I'm able to perceive it as? Sure. Maybe. But that doesn't negate the reason why this is important.

And why is it important?

Because Silvers are already an incredibly endangered breed. They're already genetically bottlenecked enough as it is, not just because there's only about 500 left in the world, but also because breeders insist on only breeding pure colors. Tort Silvers could contain extremely valuable genetic variation to help prevent some of that bottlenecking.

Because tort Silvers are freaking beautiful. I've been told on numerous occasions how stunningly beautiful a tort Silver can be. Beautiful rabbits draw in more breeders. A rare breed can only be saved if there are enough breeders willing to keep it alive. If people can get interested in the breed from this variety, it could be a key to helping to save the breed.

Because we don't need to be wasting anymore perfectly good genetic material. Yeah this kind of ties in with point number one, but here's the other side of it: if tort Silvers aren't an accepted variety, that means any tort Silver technically should be culled. I wish it were as easy as saying "well just don't breed blacks to fawns then." Problem is, folks have already done it, and they've already sold the offspring, and those offspring have already bred and become part of the overall gene pool. It is entirely possible and honestly not even that uncommon to pair a black Silver to another black Silver, to not know of any fawn in the immediate pedigrees of either one, and to end up with a litter of over half black tort. By the logic of breeders right now, those entire litters are pretty much worthless beyond maybe food or fur, or at least the tort half are. This breed can't afford to have 'worthless' rabbits that otherwise fully meet the breed standard and would be a good candidates for continuing the breed.

And so, to make a long story short, especially in the case of a rare breed like a Silver, it is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion and honestly potentially damaging to decide that a truly endemic color variety (especially one that is commonly found in litters where it wasn't even being intentionally bred for) can't or shouldn't become an accepted variety for a breed.
