I think so many peoples view of history is skewed simply by the fact they have no connection to it and therefore can't fathom just how recent these things were. Like my nana is still alive, she was born in 1940 and is currently 83 going 84, and when I show her photos of the type of fashion history that I'm interested in (late 19th, early 20th century) she HATES it, she wrinkles her nose and says that's what her grandmother used to wear, "My mum had shoes exactly like that." "I should've saved you these things, they're back in style now.". I know someone currently, who knew someone who dressed like the fashion plates I research AND YOU PROBABLY DO TO !!!!!!! You're only 2 or 3 degrees of separation from people who lived in completely different eras, these things happened practically yesterday, history isn't a one-and-done situation, you'll have seen an old woman on the street who was a Mod in the 60s, whos grandmother wore ankle-length skirts and a bustle when serving tea, and you can go even further back and I know this is a laboured point by now but still !!!!!

I see that one post all the time, you know the "my vision of history was shattered when I found out Rosa Parks could have watched Shrek" and I know this is intended to be a funny haha but it really gets to me because DO YOU THINK SHE DID ALL THAT AND JUST DISSAPEARED????? SHE LIVED A WHOLE LIFE BEYOND WHAT SHE WAS NOTABLE FOR, AND SO HAS EVERY OTHER 'HISTORICAL' FIGURE BECAUSE HISTORY IS NOT SOMETHING SEPARATE FROM OUR REALITY.

Sorry if this is a bit rushed im omw to work.

I didn't try all the options, just one but I saw one from someone else's post:

1. M gets into the shower with MC and acts like a sort of buffer to the water, if I can remember right. And MC leans on them. Which screwed me up

2. M is about to burst down the door when they hear MCs pain/discomfort, but MC is like I'm fine and I'm getting out. And M backs off.

I know the second doesn't sound as romantic but it works for my oc Andy very well. I just really like that M is ready to break down the door and is just stilled by a word from the MC. That they respect the MCs knowledge of themselves so much that they back off without question.
