I dunno if it's just me but I'm getting the vibe that in My Adventures With Superman, they are setting up Lex Luthor as not a narrative foil to Clark Kent, like most people would, but to the flame bird himself, Jimmy Olsen. And that's just really interesting to me.

Jimmy Olsen is Superman's pal. Clark Kent's best friend. And as Clark said in episode four of season 2, was the first person outside his parents that made him feel safe and secure as an alien. As an outsider. Jimmy Olsen pursues the unknown with his flamebird vlog with a pure joy of wanting to find these things, (Aliens, cryptids, what have you) not to judge or persecute them. But to befriend and understand. Jimmy Olsen sees the non-human and reaches a hand out to it happily and welcoming.

Contrast that to Alexander 'Lex' Luthor. One who sees the non-human side of things and only seeks to control and destroy. He reacts not with joy and compassion like Jimmy, but anger and fear. Like Jimmy in the show, he starts off more or less a nobody. He doesn't have his own company at first, he is just assistant to someone else. Similiar to Jimmy woth his Flamebird Vlog. They are both starting out and getting looked down on. Then Superman comes into their lives, and both rocket to success. Jimmy as a department head in the Daily Planet, and Lex as head scientist of Task Force X.

Both had their lives drastically changed by Superman. And both have strong opinions on alien life. One is Superman's best Pal. The other is his worst enemy.

i love how how open edwin and charles are about their respective deaths is shown in the show; you find out how edwin died almost immediately but the cause of charles' death is discussed way later on in the show.

Steve's BMW

For Reasons™, I have fallen down the rabbit hole of research and I don't know if anyone but me cares this much, but I found some really good pictures of the interior of a 1983 BMW 733i, which is the make and model of Steve's car.

Being a Rich Kid, I'm choosing to believe Steve's car had all the bells and whistles, except the sunroof option. Which includes a built-in mobile phone!!

We'll start with the front seat area.

And then the backseat. Pretty standard, but if you look at the back of the center console, you'll see that the back passengers can control their own AC settings, albeit limitedly. Severely lacking in cup holders though.

And the trunk!! It's got a built-in toolkit, and a lovely cover to hide the tire.

Miles Morales + Energy Absorption & Venom Strike/Blast abilities - Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)

Miles is able to absorb electricity through his hands, primarily to increase the powers of his Venom Strike. He can absorb electrical energy by touching an electrically conductive surface with his fingers/palms. (x) The venom strike can temporarily paralyze almost anyone with just a touch. It does not employ actual venom, but is a type of directed energy that can be conducted through Miles' gloves, and can be used against an opponent at a distance by conducting it through a material in which both Miles and his opponent are in contact. (x)
