BAD NEWSSSS.
hi everyone!
i have some bad news!
so my external SSD containing all of my photoshop files just got completely wiped. i'm trying to recover the files, hopefully i can. i will be able to retrieve the assets from my etsy and kofi purchases as well as anything i previously kept on my laptop, but anything that i've made from scratch since getting my pc is gone, unless they can be recovered.
what that means is:
if you purchased any icon borders or other graphic templates, or plan to in the future, i will not be able to make alterations to them in terms of resizing assets or borders, because the files you receive on kofi are flat and compressed into one uneditable layer. hopefully i can restore my files because i had some personal psds that i use for graphic previews and a new one that i was working on for a new carrd template, and i just lost all of my personal use icon borders and icons and banners and stuff, and the psds for those.
with all that being said, i don't have the mental energy at this point to go and redownload and reorganize everything from my purchase histories or laptop, so i'm not sure when i'll be making new graphics. hopefully i can get my things recovered.
i apologize for any inconvenience! but let this also be a lesson to remind everyone that you should keep important files and things in multiple locations to prevent data loss!!!! don't be silly like me!!!
update: i cannot recover my files, so i'll be redownloading my assets. i no longer have access to my original files for my creations, i'm so sorry ;w; ahhh i wish this didn't happen and i wish there was a way to get my things back but unfortunately i can't. hopefully once my classes are done for the semester i'll be able to make some new content. thank you all for your patience. please join my discord server if you'd like to keep up with updates / releases! i'll have to make a new release template as well since i lost the psd for that ;w;
reminder that i also have a subscription tier where you get my releases for free (ish) for just a flat subscription price, and i try to put something out every month. i typically don't release carrd templates under the subs, but if i don't make anything else for the month, i offer a carrd as a reward! details are on the link! i have some different tiers. if you server boost my discord server, you automatically get the coven role as well!

thank you for your response about the gif stuff. i do want to tell you that no way was i trying to cause drama or that anything like that, i was genuinely wondering what you had to say about it because i’m actually new to tumblr and i didn’t know how the gif stuff worked. i wasn’t trying to cause drama so i apologize but thank you for explaining it to me and hopefully others too
You're very welcome! I didn't think you were trying to, but a lot of years spent on this hellsite have made me a little wary from time to time. 😂 No need to apologize for asking, I appreciate that you did!
I'm actually cracking up now because if you'd just asked me "how does the gif stuff work" I would've probably said something like the following:
I get my hands on the video files
I use a video player's nifty buttons to help me extract a couple of thousand screencaps from the video files
I go to my screencap folder and cry a little at the sight of that many screencaps
I sort through the screencaps by moving them into little separate folders (this is time-consuming and makes me wanna tear my hair out)
I load the screencaps from one of those little folders into Photoshop
I make the screencaps move and then delete a good portion of them because if I keep too many Tumblr will tell me they've done an oopise and my gif is too big to publish
I resize the gif because the original screencap size is not functional for giffing, then I sharpen the gif because these men look better in HD
I try to lighten the gif without making anyone's skin go green or orange, which might easily take me 20 minutes of furious button-clicking and undoing whatever the previous buttonclick did before I am somewhat satisfied (sometimes I sing the Oompa Loompa song when everything goes orange tbh)
I color the gif. If the original scene color is orange or sepia/brown, this is the point where I take a break before I continue. If the original scene color is cyan/green/blue or so dark you need night vision goggles, this is the point where I start to curse the original makers of the show and take a break.
I add vibrance to the colors sometimes, unless adding it makes the gif go pixel-y. Again, it's a process.
I color-correct the hell out of it again to bring out more shadows and even out the colors/skintone some more
We're several layers into the gif at this moment. If I haven't lost my marbles at that point yet, I might go for something fancy and add a border or an effect or a text to the gif. The lack of me doing that in this fandom is a testament to how grueling the coloring process is.
I save the gifs both as a gif format and as a psd, so if anyone ever wants a before-and-after comparison or if I need to gif that scene again I will not need to start totally from scratch
I upload my gifs to Tumblr, say a prayer, and publish the gifs with proper tags
I watch people go !!!!!!! about the gifs, which is honestly the best, and if anyone compliments me on how I've colored them that person is my new best friend forever

prompted by staring at my root folder in abject despair. right now i use nested folders for everything, but it makes finding recent work difficult and makes it easy to forget unfinished projects once they're lost in the stacks

Was clearing up some disk space and somehow managed to delete everything in my Art folder besides the stuff in the Alice folder which is weird cuz I wasn't fucking doing anything there. Tried to recover the files from the disk using file recovery software and none of them are opening now so I'm pretty sure they're all fucked forever. The somewhat good news is I did upload a good majority of all that stuff to Patreon with PSDs so I'm working on restoring those. I also have everything else that was lost on my old laptop but it's not turning on.

going on “hiatus”
for those who didn’t already know, I accidentally killed two of my external hard drives (one of which contains all my show videos I’ve collected over years and the other all my PSDs) a couple of weeks ago and I haven’t been giffing since then. (any sets I’ve posted between then and now were sets I’d done waaaayy back and were just waiting in my drafts)
the good news: I managed to recover my lost data. the bad news: I’ve spent nearly 1.5k in local currency to recover said data and get new drives. the even worse news: the new external hard drive all the recovered data is on can only be read on a windows... and I use a mac.
SO. I am currently trying to very painfully transfer my data (all 2-3+ TB of it) into other new external hard drives that my mac can actually read, after which I would have to check that everything is transferred and reformat the original hard drive (ugh).
AND. I am currently off in thailand for nearly two weeks.
ALTERNATIVELY. (which seems like the more likely option now since I just spent one entire day transferring not even half of 1TB of data only for the internet to drop and lose all my fucking progress) go back to the data recovery centre and get them to transfer my data to a mac-compatible drive and throw more money at them.
all of which mean that I will be too busy worrying my ass off over my data during my supposed vacation and will have no time to make gifs at all for at least a couple of weeks, which I absolutely hate myself for because I’ve been making gifs continuously since I started in january 2020 and I have been running on a very constant 3-4 gifs per week schedule since I started. and which also means the schedule I have of gifs which extends to january 2023 (yes I plan way in advance what gifs I want to make lkadlkfkl) will probably need to be pushed back 2-3 weeks and I. hate. myself. for. that. *flings self off a cliff*
so I’ll be going on a “hiatus”. in inverted commas because I’ll still be here, queueing posts and stuff. also in inverted commas because people out there be going on hiatus for months but this dramatic ass be calling it hiatus for 2-3 weeks (but this is the longest pause I’ve taken from making a single gif since I started this whole shitty business so I’m calling it a hiatus). I won’t be posting any new gifsets or edits for the next 2-3 weeks. instead, I’ve selected 16 of my past sets (it pained me to just choose 16) that I really love and enjoyed making and will be self-reblogging 1-2 per day - as a reminder to the lovely folks here that I still exist and have not disappeared into a void and as a reminder to myself that this is why I’m pouring so much effort into recovering my lost PSDs and videos; these are files that I spent so much research and time into making, it would kill me to lose them just because I was enough of a clown to swipe my external hard drives off my desk

Hi!! Can you please tell me what you added to your jaws gifset? Like any filters or anything added at all?
Hi! I didn't add any special filter like colorings, just basic curves, levels, and exposure- but I did do my sharpening differently than normal as the file size I have of the movie isn't bigger than 3GB and it's an older movie. So let's call this
TIPS ON HOW TO SHARPEN YOUR GIF WHEN YOUR ORIGINAL FILE IS A BIT meh.
more under the cut ↓↓
Okay, I'm going to jump right in.
Tumblr media
When I have everything on the timeline, resized, and ready to go, I start off by adding grain. (Ruis) My program is in dutch as I am dutch so I'm not going to explain all the technical stuff, as it will get lost in translation, but I'll just do a quick rundown of what I did with this set. (I use Photoshop2022) I'm not an expert whatsoever, I studied art/media design but that was 4+ years ago and while photoshop was used heavily, gif making is not something that ever came up lol.
Tumblr media
Add the grain. Filter tab -> grain -> grain. 0,6 or 0,7 will do. Tick Gaussian and Monochromatic. Next, sharpening. Filter tab -> sharpen -> smart sharpen. I use this filter twice with two different settings as follows:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are basic sharpening settings a lot of other creators use, so nothing special there. Next, to make it even sharper, I add high pass. You can find this under the filter tab above, at the bottom of the list. Filter tab -> other -> high pass.
Tumblr media
Select it.
Tumblr media
Keep it at 4,0. You can play around with this, but I like to keep it at 4,0. Now it looks a little weird so we have to make some changes. Go to the blending option of the filter you just applied (the high pass) and change it to 'soft light' on 70%.
Tumblr media
Again, you can play around with this. I also use high pass on gifs that are darker. I used it in this set to let our babe Ryan stand a bit more out.
Okay to really show the difference between not adding the grain + sharpening + high pass vs grain + sharpening + high pass, here you go:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I remade this one real quick, as I didn't have the psd anymore but you can see the difference better than the one with the shark illustration gif. I didn't add any other filters, only the grain + sharpening + high pass. When you add the filters and increase the lightning/contrast, it will look even sharper. Sadly I don't have the file anymore, so I can't exactly recreate it, but I just used the filters mentioned; curves, levels, and exposure.
Funny thing is, not all the shots in my copy were grainy. It's just a few that have unruly pixels because the file has been compressed. Like our dear Hooper here, that part of the movie was just a little blegh. And not everyone has the space or the money or other resources to get the deluxe Bluray whatever, so you gotta do what you've gotta do I guess. Of course you want your file to be HD, preferably 1080 or above, but well, shit happens. With the grain added, it just looks better in my opinion. The grain fills in the annoying pixels. You can also add grain after sharpening, but it just looks better, again my opinion, when you add it before sharpening. Plus I found out my gifs looked better on mobile if I added grain before sharpening rather than after. If this is something you worry about, I would add the grain before sharpening.
Do note though, adding grain increases the file size of your gif!
Okay, next up, the other filters I've applied. I added curves. The numbers at Input (Invoer) and Output (Uitvoer) are for the two dots in the middle.
Lower dot: input 15 and output 11
Tumblr media
Higher dot: input 27 and output 25
Tumblr media
Not much, just a little tick. The next filter I used is levels.
Tumblr media
The only thing I changed is the Outputlevels (Uitvoerniveaus) to 2. This is something I do with all my gifs, sometimes a bit more at 4 or 6. I just like how it looks I guess haha. Next I added exposure.
exposure: +0,56. offset: 0,0000. gamma correction: 0,72.
Tumblr media
And we're done with Photoshop! Because my MacBook is really old and kind of past its time, I just save the file as a gif without cutting any frames and open it again in Ezgif. It all runs smoothly until I have to convert a gif multiple times and this just saves me a lot of time. Ezgif is a free website where you can make and edit gifs. I use it to cut the frames, add some contrast if necessary and decrease file size (another tip!) so it's under 10mb and tumblr will accept it.
Gif before adding all the filters:
Tumblr media
Gif after grain + sharpening + high pass + the other filters:
Tumblr media
Gif after running it through Ezgif and adding some contrast (5) to decrease the size of the file:
Tumblr media
I hope this answers your question! If you're really stuck on something, you can always send me a private message! I didn't do much, just the grain and the sharpening and the high pass. I think it adds a little edge to the gifs as well. Thank you for the ask and have a nice day!! 💜 💜
Edit: the brightening filter is called EXPOSURE, not brightening. I re-checked it but as I thought, I made a little mistake during translating. Here you can find a whole list of filters translated from Dutch to English.

Can I ask what may possibly be a dumb question but why do people do virtual art, like where they do drawings but on an ipad or some kind of thing? Is it less time consuming than drawing on paper? Can you erase mistakes easier than on paper? Also what happens if the ipad/tech drawing thing breaks, do you lose all your work then?
I'll take this as a good faith question and assume you're being genuine. I'm someone who does both digital and traditional art, but generally prefer traditional.
First and foremost, let me clarify one thing: Digital art (virtual is a bit of a weird phrasing, but that might be because English isn't your first language?) is not in any way 'lesser' than traditional. It's still art and it requires pretty much the same types of skill as traditional.
Digital has a whole host of advantages over traditional art. Some being in the process itself and others in the end result.
Digital pieces are easier to reproduce, for example. They are already in a printable format and don't have to be scanned/digitized to be shared. In today's world where so much happens online, that's a huge plus.
Digital is also much more 'approachable' and accessible for a lot of people. Most people have a computer already and a starter drawing tablet is less than 50 bucks, while there's plenty of free drawing programs out there like Krita. Yes, that is a lot more than a pencil and paper, but it is capable of more than the paper and pencil combo and will last you for years.
Digital, as you already figured out, has plenty of advantages over traditional like the ability to infinitely erase (which isn't possible when with a pencil), reshaping/repositioning elements endlessly, having layers and adjustments that can be manipulated individually... The list goes on and on.
Something that might be less obvious when it comes to the advantages of digital especially when we're talking about devices like an iPad or other standalone tablet device (I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+, or example) is that it has a lower barrier for getting started. These devices are easy to have with you, are instant on, can be used handheld or on your lap and as soon as we start going beyond a simple sketch (which in traditional would require just a pencil and paper) it has zero setup time.
If I set up my paints, it requires special paper, my paint palette, my mixing palette, at least one, ideally two cups of water, my brushes... If I want to colour something digitally, I just need my tablet and pen.
Professional art supplies are also expensive and require space to store them (often under specific conditions. Dry, dark, clean, cool), while a tablet or PC has a use beyond art.
Digital has a long, long list of benefits over traditional, all coming down to 'if you mess up, you can fix it a lot easier and you don't have to waste materials on it'. Not everything is perfect with it (for example, it's much easier to learn bad habits on digital, the tactile aspect of traditional media is lost and the ability to infinitely erase and manipulate your pieces can hobble your progress with the mindset of 'eh, I can always fix it later') but generally, it's 'easier' in a lot of ways.
As for your last question: all digital drawing programs have the ability to export workable files like .psd files and it's generally just good digital hygiene to back up your files regularly in at least one or two locations. I recently upgraded my drawing tech (not because something broke, but because I was fortunate enough to get the chance to) and already had all my files in another location.

hi there! i had a question about your gdoc #USERTAEHYUN. so i had read the tutorial doc you have with it but i’m still a little confused/lost on the LOGGING IN section with the psd and gif. so i had opened up photoshop and at the bottom of #USERTAEHYUN went to the link you had at the bottom for the psd but i really am still at a loss for the timeline, smart object, clipping mask and all that. i thought i had it, but then i realized i didn’t lol. please help!
Tumblr media
there's no shame in being lost with ph.otosh.op, i remember a time when i couldn't do anything in that godforsaken application to save my life.
Tumblr media
but i see it's time for a tutorial, because smart objects, timelines, and clipping masks can be particularly tricky to those who have not familiarized themselves with those terms + what they do. so, under the cut is a tutorial.
✩ ― terminology ⨾
before we begin our tutorial we must first get comfortable with the terminology that's going to appear throughout the stages of our work.
so, what is a clipping mask exactly ? a clipping mask's official definition is - a group of layers to which a mask is applied. but i much prefer to describe it as the funky button that turns my image into a shape.
Tumblr media
here's the difference between no clipping mask & a clipping mask. with this tool at our disposal we've opened the door to creativity beyond our wildest dreams - or, well, as creative as photoshop will allow. in #usertae's case, our clipping mask is an eclipse, which is named accordingly in our layers.
and how do i apply my image to the mask ?
it is generally done by putting your image layer above the eclipse / shape layer, right clicking the image layer, and selecting create clipping mask.
Tumblr media
here is what that looks like while scrolling. but before you go ahead and do that, you must first convert your gif into a smart object.
and what is a smart object ? i'm not sure what it actually is, but i just know that it needs to be applied to our gif to make sure it doesn't break.
open your gif but do not drag it into the clipping mask psd. when it's open we're going to look at the timeline and click this button circled in blue.
Tumblr media
when you've clicked it the timeline should look like this.
Tumblr media
now, we're going to look at our layers panel and shift + click our first and last layer in the LAYERS panel to make sure we have everything selected like :
Tumblr media
once that is done we're going to right click + convert to smart object. when that's done, all of those layers should turn into just one layer that looks like :
Tumblr media
and we're going to click + drag the layer onto clippingmask.psd and make sure it's above eclipse, like this :
Tumblr media
then we're just going to work our clipping mask magic. as stated above, right click + create clipping mask on "layer 1".
and that's it, you should be ready to go. delete the color fill as it's only there to show you what you're doing - and make sure in the timeline that this circled thing is at the end of your first bar - just drag it :
Tumblr media
✩ ― exporting ⨾
now that you're done, click file -> export -> save for web & your gif should be complete. here are my settings for guidance, you may copy them.
Tumblr media
✩ ― final result ⨾
Tumblr media
got further questions ? leave them in my ask !

A return of one of my old gifs. It got flagged years ago originally and I deleted it, so I removed Sinbad's butt (I'm sorry). It was a willing sacrifice for the main part of the gif. I also resized it so stupid Tumblr won't decide to stretch it.
I lost the original PSD file so I had to edit the gif itself and it got compressed more after saving it a second time. So the quality is now shot to hell.
All that I have now returned it to the interwebs. Let's hope everything goes fine this time.

Hi I absolutely love the underground facility do you know when your gonna update it?🥺💖💖💖
Heya! So technically I can post it because it's proof read and everything but ever since I lost my job I had to cancel my photoshop subscription. All my moodboards are psd files though and I never made a moodboard for the next chapter. I also kinda don't want to post it without my normal moodboard either so I dont really know what to do rn 🙈😂

How do you make the gifs like the heartstopper clothes set with the arrows, fonts, and focus shots? They’re amazing and I want to learn your superpowers
Heyy!! thankfully you will not need superpowers just photoshop
Tutorial for this gifset below the cut! Hope it makes sense im not that good at explaining things specially in english!
First obviously you make the background gif (sharpening, coloring, etc). Then you start adding the little things!
Fonts: In that gifset I used this font but you can choose whichever you like the most! I've reblogged some fonts in the past you can see them here.
The arrows: I used the arrows from this psd but you can google arrows from google with transparent background (png) and use that too! Once you placed them on the document (if you are uploading them from google you have to press file->place and select the .png, if you are using some from another psd you have to open that psd (file->open) and move the arrow layer from there to the gif you are editing) you move them around to the place you like, and then one of the most important things is the blending options. For these arrows (and in general) i used the drop shadow (right click on the arrow layer->blending options->drop shadow) option, so they don't get lost on the background, and in this case this is what the configuration looked like:
Tumblr media
The difference with and without:
Tumblr media
But i usually leave the default only changing the opacity (unless the background is very bright)
Focus shots: here is one of my fav feature clipping mask!!!
First you are going to make the gif you want to be the focus shots and edit it however you like. Then you are going to add a figure to the document, placing something from documents like before or using the shape tool (what i did in this case, choosing the ellipse one bc i wanted circles)
Tumblr media
Then you adjust the circle whoever you like it (bigger, smaller, wider, higher) and then you accommodate this layer to the bottom (in this case to have it more organized i made of all the layers (the gif and its editing) a smart object (righ click->convert to smart object):
Tumblr media
Then you select the layer(s) on the top right click->create clipping mask
Tumblr media
and then it automatically looks like this:
Tumblr media
After that, I convert everything together to a smart object and move it to the gifs im editing, placing it wherever i want to.
Finally i, once again, use blending options, in this case i put the drop shadow on its default setting + stroke and the configuration to the last one looked like this:
Tumblr media
The difference with and without
Tumblr media
and that's it! you have your gif! If you have any more questions don't be afraid to ask!

random friend love letter to lynnie .
( aka thank you for putting up with my mizuki propoganda)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay so i realized i have sooo many typos in that post that you were so unbelievably kind about @nulltune ! mizuki somehow became my favorite female character and someone i personally relate with in a very personal way. a lot like my main muse really! just the ultimate girlboss queen of the brawl beyond superhuman prettiest girl on the planet (besides hakuno ofc). it means so much to me that you read that and trauma while horrible and painful, is so key to mizuki’s character? so i never not stress how crucial it’s made her, and i know how niche the aistf games are, personally the first / OG game by far is my favorite, the writing is chef’s kiss --- nirvana was so fun to play.
like you i’m full canon divergent and if you ever get into these games i strongly recommend it because while the OG has a lot of gore, the second does not, and while i don’t consider it a ‘true sequel’ but more an alternate timeline? it’s still worth seeing a grown up mizuki, although trust me, i have many grievances, and many praises for the quality of life updates! really i’m just embarrassingly obsessed with kaname and mizuki date and their artificial eyeball shrimp named aiba (did you know mizuki and aiba are voiced by the eng vas of paimon and venti? yeah wild. also while i’m horrible at genshin sometime i’d love to add you! i’m becoming thanks to my best friend ... dramatic hand wave.... smarter. my main dps is actually jean and my favorite charas are yae miko who i got all her things (i legit screamed) and kaeya (please make him a five star and happy) )
you’re always so supportive of my metas and posts, and while i do believe i owe you an ask from hakuno, totally lost the meme hope you don’t mind queen, it means the world to me that you love mizuki and haven’t even touched ai the somnium files / nirvana initiative which makes me think i’m doing an okay job with my favorite female character. if you can handle dirty humor, absurdity, but the BEST found family tropes and things and the surreal along with core elements that make the murder / noir detective / horror genre so great? you would love them. they play much like a visual novel.
in that same vein i really admire hakuno’s lore and effort you put into her. also your drawings? are insane. like how do you draw when i could only do a blurry stick figure?! another of your talents. and your psd is beautiful and everything about your blog screams love and care for YOUR FAVE GIRL.  and i cannot wait since i’m sure you’re drowning in drafts,  i’m in love with hakuno and i know nothing about her origins save i want to do all the writing with her when you are less drowning in drafts. you do know you can take your time right? i just don’t want you to feel stressed because life outside of tumblr is important and we all have valid reasons that we’re not engaging or quiet, i know i do! but really i had to write a note i hope you don’t mind.
basically thanking you for being so patient with me, know that you can write with me anytime and i’ve love these girls to have some kind of relationship that’s wholesome and sweet. we all know mizuki needs friends, it’s not exactly easy being a go.ku level superwoman, and it meant so much to me reading those comments! i won’t shy away from the brutality of mizuki’s life, and the negative and positive aspects of her.
thank you for always being a ray of sunshine on our dashes and being so sincere and heartfelt in all you do, be it funny content or serious, it makes me genuinely happy to see a friend loved and appreciated. anyway this made my night earlier so.... thank you so much lynnie-lynn! you’re a friend that i don’t need a week to talk to, it could be five months and we’d fall in rhythm. i hope you’ll stay with me as i mizuki froth at the mouth, let’s over time slowly, at our own pace if you want, make the mizuki and hakuno duo or at least scream love to each other from giant story buildings as friends! your  friend, lily.

hey guys i was wondering if someone could help me with a problem i'm having. so, as you may or may not know, i lost everything i had in my laptop, my (cracked) ps copy included. so. i had to install ps again and i got the newest ver i think and now when i make gifs and save them, they look fine, but if i open them in ps (as a .gif file, not .psd) to like, delete frames or change the delay between them then the like, colour scale (i think that's what's called) changes and they look super saturated and idk why that's happening

How do you see your edits as not (excuse my language) shit… I see yours and get so inspired only to hate absolutely everything I create. Honestly it’s to the point I get so frustrated because I can’t seem to get the idea out of my head and onto the screen, then the pressure gets too much so I just end up leaving it and hating myself for it…. Only for the cycle to start again.
Also is there any possibility you could do a tutorial on your recent Lewis Hamilton edit (Miami version). I love the layout so much and would love to be able to recreate something similar for the poster of my final College project (if that’s not too cheeky)
Thank you x
Hi! I'm replying late cuz it was sent at 1am so I hope this answers finds you.
I see my edits as bad, full of flaws and stuff I should have done in a different way. I probably am my biggest hater actually. Never satisfied with what I did and ending up hating what I created 24 hours after I said I was obsessed with them. The idea in my head is never what ends up being posted, and I totally understand how frustrating it can be.
My red flag aka jealousy is also showing big time when I edit because I will get jealous of other people getting noticed when i'm left in the shadows, making me hate my creations thinking it wasnt good enough.
But what helped me a lot is: feedbacks, support and compliments. That can sound like such a narcissist way of thinking BUT lemme tell you. I literally pursued my graphic design online course because Paul Aron and Dan Ticktum showed support for my edits, complimented them and me. It's so stupid but it made me confident about my work so much. I have great people around me who supports me to the end and they make me so confident about editing and about my work because they have an outside vision and dont see the flaws like i do.
I get so many good comments on my edits which makes me see my edits in a brighter light and I dislike them less because the people who see it actually like it. I keep a folder with screens of compliments i got, just so i can get a boost of confidence when i'm struggling with an edit.
I think, seeing my designing evolution also helped me a lot in growing confident in what I do. I made a reel for my insta that I posted here which shows my edits 2 years apart and the evolution is insane and very very good. not to throw myself flowers but god i evolved like a fucking pokemon
I think it's a journey, to love our work and finding the balance in our emotions so we dont start doubting ourselves and hating everything we do.
You're in college so you have deadlines and stuff so I know it's not easy, but I think you need to take a deep breath and a lil break to clean your head and probably delete everything in ur inspo files (if u have any) and start fresh. I usually do that, I have a file where I keep stuff for inspiration and sometimes when I feel overwhelmed and feel like I cant do anything, I just delete it and and make a new one and write why this edit inspires me so i dont get lost (font, texte effect, gradient effect, colors, highlights & shadows) and it helps me get a clear mind and I dont get overwhelmed when I wanna edit something
As for the Lewis edit, I am the worst teacher because my way of editing is hella messy and I literally cannot explain how I do stuff. But I checked and I still have the PSD, so if u want, you can hit me up in dms and i'll share it and we can discuss it if you want!
I hope you'll feel better at editing, and i'm sending you positive vibes bub
