One thing I really like is that the whole Unhallowed Vespers trilogy (so Litany, Descant and Antiphon) is that is really served as my brainstorming test grounds for Thralls.

There are ideas in there I realize I don't like as much as I thought in hindsight, or conflict with other stuff I decided I'd rather pursue instead, and I get to have explored them before committing to those in a more long-form kind of project --or some that are too subtle or complicated to be carried out outside of writing (mostly thinking of a ton of Ganondorf character details, some things about gerudo culture that I want to tweak, characters that are getting axed because We Don't Have Time, etc).

On the contrary, there are things I set up in there I never actually got to explore, and I get to pull out that thread in here instead (basically every single of the hylians' character arc roughly, Nabooru, even Impa in a way). It's pretty weird and interesting to revisit the same core ideas twice, but in a different medium and with different character arcs in mind starting off the same thing.

#thoughts #thralls of power #animatic project #descant of greatness #litany of betrayal #antiphon #unhallowed vespers #ganondorf #impa #nabooru #thinking about that as I try to pick and choose what idea actually interests me about gerudo culture and especially its nuances #there are things I plan to do in Thralls that I much prefer #this new iteration of Ganondorf and Saeruk's relationship is soooo much more compelling to me for example #I think I didn't spend enough time unearthing Saeruk as her own character then with her own arc #but I still want to re-inject some of the ideas I had but with subtler worldbuilding this time #I just realized today I am still pretty attached to Ganondorf as somewhere on the aroace spectrum #and this being a very VERY subtle cause of conflict as to how he perceives his relation to belonging in gerudo culture #without having the society being as rigid and oppressive in gender roles as in Unhallowed Vespers #which can be done I think --and become more understated and alienating and heartbreaking in a way #because it is not as clearly stated as a pillar of expectation --but still slowly he still comes to realize he was never “a sister”#and what that does to him --and to the gerudos who both love him and fear/endure him all at once #at least that's my hope #Also. My dream of Serielle as an interesting piece of that even though she is a nightmare of a character to pull off right #I had two friends rereading two different versions of the outline #the first one thought her arc came out of nowhere #the second one perceived her as a one-note villain #and I want neither of those things!!! so!!!! where is the truth #we'll see #anyway

:-) things are getting better september truly is a month of new beginnings

#yesterday i went out to the grocery store late at night and bought so much yogurt i think that was my turning point i am forever changed #and today i went to the mall with my mom and bought myself a pair of sunglasses that i really wanted for so long #and the guy that works there recognized me 😭😭😭😭#i went there before to buy my cousin a graduation gift and honestly i came back bc i wanted the same ones i got for her they’re so cool #anyway the staff recognized me and gave me a special discount bc im a ‘regular’ even tho this is only my second time buying from them 🥹🥹#that was so nice of him bc if it wasnt for that dicount i probably wouldnt have bought the sunglasses bc theyre a bit pricey for my budget #anyway i got them 🥹 so im feeling a bit better #also! i bought myself a little rice cooker for one serving so i don’t starve and stop ordering so much food that i don’t have money for #i think this month is spending on myself month #and tomorrow im going out to celebrate my friend’s birthday 🥰🥰 we’re going to a bakery then to a museum and im bringing my camera with me <3 #recently i’ve fixed my 10 year old camera and its so perfect i love it so much i found a manual online and im gonna learn how to properly #use all the effects and settings it has #i bought it with my mom in 2013 and honestly we picked the best design ever it looks so coooool god i love my little camera im taking it #everywhere with me 🥹💛💛#anyway .. the last episode of uncanny counter 2 aired today 🥲🥲🥲 im gonna make myself some rice in my new rice cooker and watch it 🫶#then i’ll take a warm shower and finish off my friends bday gift #im making them a crochet cat keychain i hope it comes out well #alsoooo LETTERS WITH NOTES OUT TOMORROW im soooo excited i love you september #anyway i came here to talk about my week bc it was nice :-) i hope everyone’s september is going well too <3

im watching a Saints Row (2022) lets play. going into it i was a little nervous because of how controversial it seems to be amongst fans, but honestly? its not bad so far! i like the main group and the concept of them leaving already established gangs to create their own is interesting. the world looks PHENOMENAL like everything is so decorated and detailed, their apartment is gorgeous just... WOW

honestly, i think if they had just advertised this as the start of its own series, and not a Saints Row reboot, a lot more people wouldve shown this game a lot more love.

#saints row 2022 #saints row #babbles #like the game really isnt that bad! from what ive seen so far its pretty enjoyable #the bond between the core four is cute and im in love with The Idols' aesthetic #HOWEVER... i will admit it felt a little weird when the main character officially called their group The Saints #cause like... we already have Saints.. ya know? idk how to describe it #i think 'reboots' are more effective in concept when theyre entire generations over #saints row 4 came out in 2013 and while yes thats a long time ago #the generation that played it is likely still the same generation that played 2022 #meanwhile for example take a look at Final F*ntasy 7 #the original came out in 1997 and the remake came out all the way in 2020. thats a massive difference #and the generational divides are more clear cut. ergo its success #soooo... yeah anyway #if this game had been advertised as just a different series not under the SR title #i think it wouldnt have gotten as much pre-release hate as it got
