my parents were born in the 1950’s and i grew up watching cary grant movies what can i say. i was 8 yrs old watching hitchcocks the birds

#my mom actually especially loved old movies #like 1930’s-40’s #like we watched tcm all the time #and then i grew up in the 2000’s so i watched the movies for kids at the time #and sometimes saw reruns of things #but i generally have a knowledge gap for the stuff 80’s babies and 90’s kids deem essential #that the kids of the gen xers also deemed essential and showed them #id like to see the movies at some point i just havent yet idk #this is just a side thought and not rly an argument at this comment #its just a frequent thought i have as this concept comes up a lot #also me saying my boss was so born in 1986 right now for immediately making a terminator reference #and then explaining it to me and shit isnt rly a dig or calling him old. hes not old hes only 38 #its more like… that is very much exactly something especially str8 men 90’s babies do #like my brother was born in 89 and it felt like something he’d say #its just like wow youre fitting the exact vibe rn huh

i remember you somewhere listing off a bunch of songs you felt were kyman coded (which btw i LOVE the playlists/analysis you made of kyle and cartman, always so spot on with your observations!) and one of them was this old 60's song. so i propose another song, It Had To Be You by Betty Hutton. lyrics feel pretty kyman coded, specifically from kyles pov. what do you think?

As for your rec, of course, it's a jazz staple! Other shippers as well as I am guilty of using this song in a ship playlist, one could say it's an overused song, but I do think the lyrics are fitting.
