here's every way wildbow accidentally made pre-meiosis "russel" thorburn transgender that i can remember. if you can think of any reasons i forgot please add on
his parents named his younger sister "ivy," as if the obvious grandmother-pandering name "rose" had already been used up. blake theorizes that they used a male version of "rose" for PMT, but this is nonsensical--there is no male form of the name rose, and everything he comes up with as a possible option (in other words, everything wildbow came up with as a possible option) is a major stretch. most don't sound even tangentially like the name "rose." it makes far more sense to assume that PMT was afab and had the deadname rose. (this also makes sense on a thematic level wrt how rose thorburn jr is supposed to be the Real heir that grandmother is forcing blake to die for, but that's getting besides the point)
rose has memories of being harassed over the inheritance by her female cousins, and the idea of these memories just being wholly pulled out of thin air when basically everything else involves memories either being split btwn blake and rose or erased altogether is weird
blake is friends with, like. a lot of gay people. textually runs in poor gay artist circles. the idea of them adopting this weirdly cool cis straight guy is funny but it makes a lot more sense if PMT was trans + gay and only got turned into a straight guy (and a straight girl) yesterday, due to the homophobia demon
PMT literally thinks "Besides, why devote any more attention to your son, when you could just start over?  Have that beautiful baby girl you wanted, right?" which is also like one of the only pieces of internal narration we get from PMT in the entire story. first girl they named rose ran away and did some shit with their gender so now they have a second girl they can't name rose but can still try to raise to go for the inheritance
in the same chapter as when pmt says that, callan is like ohhh you think youre going to worm your way in-, implied sentence ending being "-to the inheritance," which is, like. the family knows it's going To A Girl. so.
PMT was childhood friends with paige, who is The Gay Cousin. it is deeply sensible to imagine them bonding over this, regardless of whether or not PMT (or even paige) knew at the time
it is, like, fully possible for a cishet dude to get sick of living with his shitty toxic abusive family and abscond at the age of 17, but also homelessness is an extremely prevalent issue among transgender kids in abusive families. the narrative of a transmasc kid growing up in an abusive, catholic extended family where girls are pressured to compete for a very gendered inheritance + leaving at the age of 17 & finding a new home among a bunch of gay artists is Significantly more compelling than the cis dude alternative. it just is.
okay i think im running out of, like, logical errors that make sense only if pmt was trans prior to the Obliteration, so as for the thematic stuff. like i said, rose being the half grammy decided was supposed to be "real" and blake being the half that's supposed 2 die for her 2 exist, rose just being unhappy and disconnected by nature of existence while blake is the parts of pmt that escaped from the constraints of the family + found happiness, so on and so forth. "catholic grandmother literally obliterated her transmasc nonbinary grandchild by splitting them into two binary gendered halves & expecting that the man they could've been die to allow the acceptable woman--literally forced to dress in grandmother's clothes--live on and do as grandmother wished" is Everything, doing the same thing but to a cis man grandchild is significantly less compelling
Others who r very old/operating on what are explicitly stated to be oppressive and antiquated gender roles as per the book's themes about inherited/traditional forms of harm keep mistakenly calling blake she/her and rose lmao
??? probably some other thangs im forgetting

thinking about how my usual go-to intersex dirk is affected by cooercive gendering in both the beta and alpha timelines.... and just gender stuff in homestuck in general.... cause the timeframe really counts. where babydirk lands temporally really makes or breaks this guy and his rship with his body. dirk as a character is so concerned abt how others percieve him that he wears his interests and hobbies like leather armour. he wears the projected images other ppl have of him more than he just, yknow, is
dirk in the beta timeline wouldve been fostered and was CAMAB, but his puberty started doing Unexpected Things, so they took little bro to the doctor so he can have his manly male puberty 'fixed'. bro would spend his whole life directly under the thumb of hegemonic cismasculinity, and he would know that if he adjusted even an inch, just to shift his weight even a little, then he suddenly wouldnt be Man Enough. and the blowback for that would be terrifying for him. hed be being slowly suffocated by the adults in his life and lil cal constantly whispering into his ear. this would be part of bro's experience with being groomed for sure
dirk in the alpha timeline however would be a free range kid. he wouldve grown up basically genderless until he figured out how to peruse the dead internet and discovered what boys and girls as cisgender concepts were. alpha dirks problem wouldnt so much be that hes directly under the thumb of Cis Manhood, but bc hed be desperately chasing after the ghosts of communities long dead. hed be directionless. he assumes hes a boy, he feels like one a lot of the time, but is he really? he keeps finding conflicting information on what Being A Man is, what Being A Woman is, what being Anyone At All is. hed chase after cismasculinity bc itd just feel the most familiar to him. he'd fall into the traps chrisofacist gender rolls laid out for masculinity bc thered be no one around but himself and his own very fallable perspecetive on this stuff to help get him out of it. and roxy is in the exact same boat. theyd have no idea how to even START talking about this except through the pidgeonhole of compcis
and its interesting too cause there IS talk of gender in the alpha session, but its from calliope whos also very very very removed from human (and troll, bc theyre analogous in canon) gender in the first place, eerily similar to dirk and roxy and their particular brand of isolation from humanity**. callie very explicitly represents the side of fandom that is good-faith exploration of canon, but whos too married to their own fanon and always more biased towards it over canon. i love callie so much but shes my biased and unreliable queen haha. what she says about gender, esp supposed gender-locked classpect stuff, isnt nessicarily, actually true. and thats REALLY cool bc of course everyone is a little biased about gender stuff and trans theories. its so personal how can we not be yknow?? and we experience other ppl through our own lens, having even residual biases (just favouring pink moreso than blue for example, im not talking abt bigotry) is just really normal imo. callie's a really good example of this. she knows shes a girl and loves being a girl, as she fuckin should, so she holds a grain of bias towards femininity and womanhood
**normally i would include jake in The Social Isolation, but again, where the alpha kids landed temporally REALLY makes a difference. jake is also completely isolated but he has an active and current internet to dig through. i wanna explore jakes relationship w/ himself more often but my brain is so full of dirk and roxy and callie its, well, its bias LMAO

SOOOOO..... I have been seeing animal HRT show up on Twitter a lot in the trans community because of @ayviedoesthings little dragon comic so I thought "Hey why don't I join the fun." But there are two problems.
I'm a straight cis mostly white guy and
I AM HORRIBLE AT DRAWING ANYTHING THAT IS NOT A ROBOT!
SO I DECIDED! ah to hell with it I never cared about my masculinity, I am a being of ADHD, autism, OCD, AND CHAOS! FATE GAVE ME A MALE FORM TO EXIST IN!! I WOULDN'T GIVE A FLYING FLIP IF TOMORROW IT GAVE ME A FEMALE ONE!!! and also I'll just do it in a written story. but I am not doing someone going through the whole HRT process. 1. because I would probably be very grim describing it and 2. my brain won't stop thinking about what would happen if the military had access to a drug that would turn their soldiers into animal soldiers. SO HERE IS
PROJECT CHIMERA
Part 1
General Samuel grumbled as he rode the elevator down. If it was up to him he would have never approved this project. If it was up to him he would have never tested this on former soldiers. If it was up to him he would have gone with the doctor with the German-sounding name instead of putting the cryptic scientist who somehow knew about the project and contacted the government about being in charge. And if it was up to him he would have never would have never put himself as the one to be reviewing this project. As the elevator stopped and the doors opened Sam saw a man in a lab coat waiting for him. "Ah, General. So nice of you to visit us." said the man. Sam assumed this was the scientist. Doctor Thánatos. "Come in, Come in. I got something big I want to show you." The scientist turned around and quickly walked down the hallway. As Sam walked down the hall with the scientist, he noticed big cells to his sides with humanoid beasts in them with the names of the occupants by the cell, one of whom he recognized. Sergeant Thorn, one of the best hand-to-hand fighters he knew, before she lost her legs and an arm in an explosion. But now it looks like she was more than a fighter, she was a beast. Not only were her legs and her arm back, but she now sported green scales and a long tail. She resembled a female version of the villain the lizard. Suddenly Thorn jumped towards him, causing him to step back. her claws struck the reinforced glass wall that divided them. She let out a guttural laugh. "Ah, it's nice to see a familiar tasty face." She said licking her teeth "What's wrong soldier. Don't you know time changes people?" Sam was shocked. This was not the Thorn he knew he knew. She was tough, but she would always rather make friends than start a fight. "What's wrong captain. Not happy to see old friends captain." Said a voice behind him. Sam quickly turned around and saw in front of him a creature with dark black feathers covering its body, razor-sharp claws for feet and hands, and giant black-as-night wings sprouting from its back. "Oh sorry is it General now?" It said from a sharp-beaked mouth. Sam turned to look at the nameplate. Pilot O'hares. Sam knew him. One of his old drink buddies. He had heard that he quit the Air Force when he crashed his favorite jet, one he had gone on so many missions with, saying he would never fly again. "Ah, Ignore them. They aren't important right now." Sam turned to the scientist who was at the end of the hall by a big metal door. He was about to question what he did to his old friends when he noticed something. Three empty cells, one of them having more dust than the other. Doctor Harris, Private Gorgonzola, and Private Tompson. "I got some questions for you egg head. Why the hell are these people in cells, Why the hell are three of them empty, AND WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO THEM!" The General yelled angrily "I was told they would look more human like this far into the project and not like animals. They also shouldn't be acting like ones too." The scientist only let out a laugh. "Oh I will answer the first and third questions but I will only answer the second once you see what's behind these doors. Now the cells are for ours and also for their safety. The normal drug that excuse of a doctor is selling is quite too slow, so with some modifications, I was able to speed it up, though it does seem to increase a person's animalistic instincts. Still, I see that as an improvement. My version is much more suited for the battlefield." The scientist pressed some buttons on a keypad and the metal door opened. "Now let me show you my personal project."
This is part 1 and part 2 will be out soon

AITA for 'avoiding' a face reveal?
I (24) met a guy (20) in an online game with voice chat about two to three years ago. We started hanging out on discord after some games and have been friends since, but i feel like im hiding a big secret from him. Im a trans guy but basically pre-everything. when we played the first game i just assumed hed think im a girl anyways and never said anything about it but he heard another player call me by my chosen name during it and thought i was a guy? which blew my mind, kinda. anyways, fast forward he eventually asks about pronouns bc he wasnt sure and i just went "he/they, anything thats not she" and he didn't question it either. When we eventually revealed ages to each other he was surprised i was older bc of my voice but still didnt seem to assume anything but a cis guy with a kinda high vc voice.
Every now and then he brought up the convo of "haha imagine if we suddenly face revealed in vc" but never forced it. i kept kinda going "yeah haha eventually" and he'd let the convo drop for another few months.
Inbetween those he found out i was queer (saw a gay flag on my wall in the back of a cat pic) and asked about it. By his way of questioning and reacting to it i could tell he usually doesn't hang out with people like me and he even did the "i used to have a gay friend once before! but he fell in love with me haha but im not gay though. but i dont judge you" kinda message. overall i dont mind it. my usual friend circles are all some kind of queer so having one separate friendship where im treated as "one of the guys" is really nice too, since i never pass irl or often immediately tell people im trans on discord.
As i mentioned, he sometimes brings up the "imagine face reveal haha" thing every now and then and i always kinda ignore it and turn it down, partly definitely because i fear that seeing my face would clue him in on me just being trans and affecting our friendship or his view of me, since i dont think he has any other connections to queer people in his life currently.
But I also feel bad for constantly ignoring it or going "well eventually :)" and keeping him unaware. AITA for this?

Ive lose the ask asking for my transmasc!Leo headcanon TT but i have them written down so imma post em like that
Leo transmasc headcanon
(many things are based on my own experience. Especially the dysphoria related things (so when i talk about Leo not being a real boy it is what he thinks bc of dysphoria. It’s not true.))
(warning angst angst (but thats Leo so that was expected)
it was so obvious even when he was small. He always wanted to play with boys, wear boys clothes, ect… His mom was fine with it. She bought him boys toys and clothes and even sometimes called him hijo. She was a bit confused, but she knew it made her child happy and it's all that mattered.
However, it didn’t go that well with his foster homes. However much he tried, they always stuck to his deadname and she/her. That was a big part of the reason he kept running away.
There really is no story behind the name Leo. He picked that one bc it sounded cool.
Once he got a good enough passing, he did everything he could so ppl will assume he’s cis.
Don’t ask me how he gots his hands on hrt. It’s a long and weird story.
The wilderness school was very strict about not mixing girls and boys in dorms.
Piper was his roommate, that’s how they met.
In their memories created by Hera, Jason has kinda always known he’s trans. So Leo never bothered to hide it from Jason (as he does with others).
But Jason doesn’t have much (any) education on transidentity… At first he assumed Leo was a cis guy, and then some things were a bit confusing (why was he in fem dorms ? Why does he wear a tank top under his shirt ? Did he just ask Piper for a tampon???) but he just kinda gave up on trying to understand, bc Leo is a nice guy anyways. And with time (and exterior knowledge on the matter) he started to put the pieces together and to understand that “ooh ok that makes sense".
Otherwise. Leo has no desire to get out of his comfortable closet.
He has such a fragile masculinity
Sometimes he acts a little bit macho. He’s aware he’s acting like an asshole but he’s terrified of being perceived as feminine.
Why does he try to flirt with every girl he sees ? Another attempt to pass better (and comfort himself in his fragile masculinity) by copying stereotypical boys' things.
He overbind so much, GODS. Man will wear his binder for 11h straight (while fighting and running around) and then have the audacity to complain that his body hurts.
Piper tries very hard to remind him to take proper breaks.
Jason is the biggest gender envy ever. He is handsome, tall, muscular… Leo really loves him but he also is so jealous and envious.
He is very envious of other boys in general.
When Percy got woken up in the middle of the night and left his cabin shirtless. When Frank went to take a break in the men’s restroom…
Gods, he would do anything to just be a normal boy. To be like them. To have their bodies. To not have to destroy his body to look slightly more masculine. To not have this constant fear that they’re gonna find out.
And to add to the reasons why he felt so much like the 7th wheel : Among the 7 there are 3 girls, 3 boys… And Leo. Forever inbetween. Not a girl, but not a boy like the others either.
Fortunately, with time he learnt to accept himself better and to feel more comfortable with others.
Piper helped him to go easier on himself. And he had an actual proper talk with Jason.
The first person he actually came out to was probably Annabeth, bc she’s cool and wise and nice.
And then he saw it actually was ok. She didn’t treat him any differently, she didn’t tell anyone else. She was cool with it.
He then told Frank and Hazel, with Piper’s help (mostly to explain to Hazel all those new terms). And it also went very great ! He then also told Percy and Nico.
He’s not entirely out, just to his closest friends and his siblings at camp. And it’s enough.
He still overbinds, but he has ppl to (discreetly) remind him to take care of himself. He’s still very dysphoric but his loved ones know how to remind him that he is their brother, an amazing boy.

Inspired by a post from another user, I've decided to update and add to my Sulemio headcanons to make them more "aggressively gay" as they put it, in light of it becoming obvious Bandai suppressed the depiction of Sulemio. I said in my earlier headcanons that I was undecided on when they first kissed because I was torn between "how the show presents their relationship at face value vs. how the show provides evidence that they're much closer in private and off screen." This is headcanons going all in on the latter.
Disclaimer: for my headcanons I see Suletta as trans and a lesbian, and Miorine as a lesbian. I have no issues with cis Suletta or bi readings of either girl. It's all up to interpretation after all. 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
- Miorine starts sharing her bed with Suletta in episode 4. This continues throughout season 1.
- Miorine is definitely the sex crazed one, at least early on. While Suletta's thoughts about sharing a bed are mostly chaste early on, Miorine lets her thoughs run wild with ideas and she often has to take care of herself to calm down.
- At first, Suletta only vists the greenhouse when she knows Miorine is there, but eventually they start going and leaving together, until finally Suletta starts showing up to the greenhouse on her own.
- Suletta starts finding herself visibly aroused by Miorine, and struggles to hide it from her. Miorine's statement that it's normal for two women to be together starts taking root and Suletta realizes she's never felt this way towards anyone else, especially guys.
- Suletta stays overnight at Miorine's room 2-3 times a week, usually on weekends. Other students take notice and rumors start spreading that they're sleeping together and maybe Miorine is serious about Suletta.
- When Suletta brings up the rumors to Miorine, she tells Suletta not to take them seriously, but secretly she's happy that others think they're that close.
- Miorine often steals Suletta's Holder uniform before she wakes up in the morning. Some days she wraps herself in it, enjoys Suletta's scent and masturbates while Suletta is still sleeping. Suletta thinks Miorine is very attractive wearing the oversized uniform and doesn't mind her lingering scent on her uniform.
- One night Miorine joins Suletta in the Aerial's cockpit and sits directly on her lap. This provokes an immediate and unsurprising reaction from Suletta (and her body). Multiple alarms start going off inside the Aerial's cockpit shortly afterwards, completely distracting them both. Eri apologizes to the utterly embarrassed couple years later.
- After episode 8, they start holding hands while walking around campus together.
- Miorine gives Suletta a kiss on the cheek before the duel against Grassley House, "for good luck." (Chuchu gets one from Nika too.)
- Suletta starts spending more nights at Miorine's room. And the nights she doesn't are the ones Miorine stays late working at Earth House. Miorine starts wearing Suletta's uniform around the Earth House dorms in the morning.
- They're inseparable at this point and most everyone assumes they're for real. Some doubters remain, thinking they're trying to sell it as hard as possible.
- They start cuddling in bed together. Most nights Suletta holds Miorine close to her in a spooning position. Suletta often gently kisses the back of Miorine's shoulders and neck in this position.
- Some nights Suletta gets aroused and will gently hump Miorine's legs or back, hoping she won't be disturbed. If this wakes Miorine or Miorine is awake when Suletta starts, she'll touch herself in response. They both know, but neither acknowledges it.
- Their first "proper" kiss is after Suletta promises to stay by Miorine's side in episode 11. Suletta tells Miorine how much she loves her while giving her the keychains. Miorine promises Suletta they'll kiss more when they get back to school, and maybe do more than that.
- Suletta keeps her promise to message Miorine 3 times a day while they're separated. Mostly she sends updates on the greenhouse or their classes, but sometimes she sends ideas for their wedding and pictures of locations, dresses, rings, etc. When Miorine gets her phone back, she saves every single message and image Suletta sent her.
- After Miorine returns to Asticassia, she purposely avoids sharing her bed together with Suletta in the days before her birthday. She knows if they get any closer or sleep together her determination will break and she won't be able to go through with her plan.
- Even after the divorce, neither of them deletes the various messages, images and videos they'd sent each other in the months prior. It gave them a measure of strength to keep moving forward, and that small sliver of hope that maybe they'd find their way to be together again in a better world.
- Suletta would've gone to see Miorine regardless of the outcome of her duel with Guel. But the fact that he tried to stand between her and Miorine have Suletta extra motivation to defeat him decisively in one last duel.
- Suletta pulls Miorine into a hug and a long kiss after Mio takes her hand. They quickly move into Miorine's room to continue and have sex for the first time.
- Afterwards, Miorine holds Suletta tightly as Suletta breaks down and confides to Miorine that she fears dying in the Calibarn and they'll never get to be together like this again. Miorine comforts her and helps give her the confidence to continue moving forward once again.
- They make a promise to go to Earth together afterwards, and grow more tomatoes together. Though neither makes a formal proposal, they both understand that they want to spend the rest of their lives together, no matter what.
- After Quiet Zero, Miorine formally proposes to Suletta the first day she regains consciousness. Still full of grief over what she did to Suletta on her birthday and after having almost lost her for good, she makes sure Suletta knows right away she loves and cares for her more than anything, duels or Holder title be damned, and she wants to soend her whole life with Suletta for love, not any obligation. Suletta accepts, and even through the pain says it's the happiest she's ever been in her life. Miorine proposes with her mother's ring.
- Yes, Suletta's nails were trimmed, and yes, Miorine is very much enjoying her wife's improving dexterity, thank you very much. Eri has learned to stop accessing electronics in their room during certain times of the night and morning.

Psycho Analysis: Lois Einhorn/Ray Finkle
Tumblr media
(WARNING! This analysis contains LETHAL LEVELS OF TRANSPHOBIA! Literally what the FUCK!)
I have wanted to review Ace Ventura for a long, long time. I mean, this was part of Jim Carrey’s break into the big time alongside Dumb & Dumber and The Mask, two films I wouldn’t hesitate to call comedy classics. But then there’s Ace Ventura, a film many would say sits alongside those… and to a degree, it does. The titular character may be one of the funniest and most awesome film protagonists ever made, and for the most part it is a genuinely funny comedic mystery.
But then comes the twist.
The villain of the film is revealed to be Lois Einhorn, a cop that Ace had been working with. But that’s not actually the real twist. No, the real twist is that Einhorn is disgraced football player Ray Finkle… and thus, a man. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the problem here.
Finkle/Einhorn has long been considered one of the most transphobic characters in 90s media, and it is genuinely hard to disagree. But is there anything of value to them? Is this character really as bad as people say? Well, I’m going to tell you how I feel, though two things need to be kept in mind. First, I’m a cis guy. I am going to be upfront and say I agree this character is horribly problematic, but I definitely recommend seeking out what actual trans people have to say about Finkle as well (this video’s a good place to start). Second, I’m going to be using “They/Them” pronouns for Finkle. I’m doing this mainly because the movie is wildly unclear about how they view their own gender identity, and it’s actually unclear if they’re actually trans or just so insane they’ve gone to the biggest extremes to disguise themselves as a woman for their vengeance since, you know, the movie doesn’t particularly care about their gender identity beyond it being a vehicle for mockery.
Now, let’s go ahead and open this big ol’ can of worms...
Motivation/Goals: Finkle’s motivation is where they really shine, because it’s genuinely insane and amazing. They ended up being shunned by society and disgraced after a screw up that cost the Miami Dolphins the Super Bowl, and went completely insane from the derision. This led to them concocting an absurdly complicated plan that involved the kidnapping of the team’s mascot, rising through the ranks of the police department, and assuming the name of a dead hiker, all to kidnap and kill their former teammate Dan Marino for his role in their fumble. It’s so brilliantly batshit!
Oh, and they decide to unndergo a sex change as part of this scheme. It’s done as tastefully as you can imagine a 90s comedy would do.
Performance: Blade Runner’s Sean Young plays Finkle-as-Einhorn (and even portrays Finkle in a photograph back when they were a man). Whatever problems this character has, I don’t think it’s completely fair to blame them on Young; she does a relatively good job playing a comedic femme fatale villain when it comes right down to it. If the writing were better, this could easily be a career highlight for her. Alas, that’s not the world we live in.
Final Fate: They get arrested. I guess it’s better than them getting killed? They were in a room full of cops, it was the early 90s, and they are presenting as a woman while being assigned male at birth. It is genuinely a miracle that the worst thing that happened to them is that they were sexually harassed by Jim Carrey.
Evilness: This is the tricky one. On the one hand, Finkle has quite a list of genuine crimes under their belt: Murder, kidnapping, attempted murder, animal abuse… They might also be responsible for the death of the original Lois Einhorn, but it’s extremely ambiguous and I’m not going to hold it against them. On the other hand, Finkle’s downfall and subsequent shunning by their own hometown to the point their life was destroyed and they were driven insane is so over-the-top in how cruel it is that it’s kind of hard not to feel a little bit of sympathy for them. Like hell, I think I’d go batshit insane too ifI got treated like that for a mistake that was out of my hands! The narrative is trying to say they should score a 4 or even 5, but I think they’re more around a 3, a tragic villain who was driven to madness. It’s certainly a high three because it’s hard to excuse some of their worse actions, but I’m feeling a little more lenient towards them than the movie is.
Worst Scene: The big gender reveal at the end, of course.
youtube
Let’s ignore that dolphins have been observed having gay sex before. Let’s also ignore there is a non-zero chance that someone on the police force isn’t totally straight; there was a cop in the Village People for a reason, after all. Setting all that aside, this just isn’t fucking funny. It’s just a tasteless, bottom-of-the-barrel gag cranked up to eleven. I know the 90s weren’t the most enlightened years, but this is still excessive, especially since this is the gag the entire movie’s central mystery builds up to.
Final Thoughts & Score: There is so much to unpack here. Like, unbelievable amounts. This is a villain in a fucking detective comedy film, this really shouldn’t have to be so goddamn hard to talk about!
This character is just so stuffed full of offensive stereotypes that there is genuinely no charitable read for them. Looking at what the film is laying out for you, we have a man who has gone to insane lengths to disguise themselves as a woman for their revenge scheme, the sort of lengths that are usually reserved for people who are actually trans. So this isn’t even straightforward transphobia, it’s invoking the “trap” stereotype. For those of you blessed with ignorance, the “trap” is a nasty stereotype of trans woman that essentially believes they are a man disguised as a woman looking to rape unsuspecting men. It’s a pretty vile term that was and still is pretty popular among the coomer crowd, so yeah, not a good look when your character is what 4channers were calling Bridget Guilty Gear for years.
But hey, maybe the transphobia is just accidental! Even the director has said the intended joke with stuff like Ace barfing after discovering the truth is meant to be a dig at how fragile his masculinity really is if he falls to pieces over something like kissing a man! So instead of transphobia, the joke is… homophobia! Yay? This excuse doesn’t even hold water when the entire police force and the fucking dolphin barf at the big reveal too.
All of this is bad enough, but here’s the kicker: Aside from that massive, glaring flaw, Finkle is actually a genuinely good villain for a story like this. Their plan is insane and convoluted, perfectly fitting into a comedic narrative, but they’re also a genuinely threatening villain when they need to be. But this just makes it all the worse, because they took this good idea, wrapped it up in the sort of shit Joanne Rowling writes for her crappy detective novels, and then made it the punchline the whole movie builds up to.
If it weren’t for the exaggerated 90s bigotry the character is steeped in, I think they’d be a really solid bad guy who would likely deserve a score at least as high as Buffalo Bill got. But the existence of the novel that elaborates on Bill’s whole deal, the (admittedly minor) efforts of the movie to deny Bill is trans and is merely insane and delusional, and the fact he is played entirely seriously and is not the butt of jokes make him far more defensible than Finkle is.
I don’t think there’s ever been a twist villain that so thoroughly decimates the quality of the film they’re in. Bellwether didn’t ruin Zootopia, Hans didn’t ruin Frozen, and Roy Burns didn’t ruin Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. But Finkle? They fucking tank Ace Ventura, and it didn’t have to be this way. There are plenty of ways to have a character pretend to be a woman and have it be tasteful and funny; Bugs Bunny is a queer icon for a reason, and movies like Some Like It Hot and Mrs. Doubtfire, while obviously not perfect, manage to be a lot more tasteful in their jokes. But here, they just aim right for the bottom of the barrel.
With how times have changed, I think it’s genuinely easy to read them as a sympathetic character, provided you can look past the murder and homicidal revenge of course (something easy to do when you remember what caused them to snap). When the movie is doing all it can to demonize and humiliate them for not conforming to gender norms as opposed to ridiculing them for the sheer absurd lengths they’re going to for revenge or the fact they literally fucking killed someone, it’s hard not to take their side. The narrative is already against them for the stupidest reasons, so why dogpile them? You go, girl! You can have a little murder and kidnapping, as a treat.
I’ve gotta give them a 0.5/10. And that .5 is pretty much only because aside from the horrible twist, they’re honestly not a bad villain and there’s actually a lot of great foreshadowing that they’re behind the dolphin kidnapping. It really is just the gender reveal thing that not only completely ruins the character, but torpedoes the movie too. Ace Ventura is probably one of the best characters ever, and one of Carrey’s best performances alongside Truman and Robotnik, but he’s stuck debuting in a film where the big joke is “queers are fucking freaks lmao.” What a sick joke.

This was before it all really *clicked* for me but one of my first "oh there might be something a little bit wrong with this" moments was when I was following a butch lesbian tiktoker and when I looked at her or thought about her I would use they/them pronouns in my head, even though she was very clear about being a cis woman and used she/her pronouns. I saw the way she presented herself and defaulted to they/them without consciously trying to. And while yeah, she was very masculine, she didn't look like a guy. Like, only being surrounded with images of trans and especially non-binary people constantly for many years would make someone see this person and think that they weren't a woman. It's like I had been brainwashed into "not assuming people's gender" and I started unconsciously ignoring people's physical characteristics whenever their gender presentation *seemed* to contradict them so I wouldn't be "transphobic". And like, if you had asked me if being gnc and being trans/non-binary were the same thing I would have obviously said no, and if you asked if I thought they could co-exist, I would have definitely said yes. (I want to say that this is not an attack or a put down on genuinely dysphoric trans people who have trouble passing, I get how difficult that must be and I think that's a different situation.) At the end of the day, though, my brain couldn't actually accept genuine gender non-confirmity. And if I couldn't do that, then I had to start facing the possibility that a lot of this ideology is based on stereotypes. And I don't think this is happening to like, normal people who are supportive of their trans or non-binary friends or something and are just being nice people, ya know? I'm talking about people like me who were deep within trans spaces online and off line and started to see the world in a completely different way that didn't reflect what I was seeing with my own eyes.

Hello! I'm technically a closeted lesbian, and I only say technically because the main reason people don't know is because I don't think it's anyone's business and if straight people don't have to start a conversation with, hi I'm straight, then why should I?
Anyway, this is somewhat related to the above, because something happened recently that has really agitated me and I feel like I'm just annoyed for no reason and need to vent just to let it go?
So I joined a club with a friend (who knows I'm a lesbian). Two of the guys in the club are in a relationship (this is relevant, bare with me). Around pride the topic came up, and one of the other guys in the group was showing off the non binary pin they got from pride while another girl (who has a bf) started tripping over herself to make sure everyone knew she was gay (her words). It's fine, she could be bi, but what got to me was that she was really aggressive about it, like really aggressive, 'I AM gay, too! I'm gay! I can join in because I'm gay. I'm gay!' and I'm like, okay good for you??? But I don't say anything, because, once again, I personally don't feel the need to advertise I'm a lesbian (and that's not to say I think everyone else should be like me, I'm just a very private person). So I let it go.
But then a few weeks later, the non-binary guy invited their partner to join who also identifies as non-binary and is female. The girl also invited a couple of her friends, who also identify as non-binary (male and female) and are a couple. So now we have 5 people in the group, all in straight relationships, constantly tripping over themselves to make sure everyone knows they're gay, and to me they're like, oh it's so annoying when ppl assume you're straight. At me. Assuming I'm straight. So lol at that!
The people who aren't constantly saying how gay they are? The lesbian (me) and the two gay guys. I don't know, I hold my tongue, they could be bi, and that's valid, but I also have bi friends in straight relationships who don't go out of their way to make sure everyone knows they're also ssa. Is this a common thing? I just feel like if you're ssa, you don't have to constantly make sure everyone knows it, like being straight is the worst thing you can be? I just hate that they make being ssa attracted into this huge thing, you know? Idk, am I just getting annoyed for no reason?
Nah, you said it around the end. Some of these people really do think that being straight is the worst thing in the world, because they treat it as the worst thing in the world. (To them) If you're straight, you don't get to have an opinion on anything because you are privileged and probably "cis." These are all "boring" and "bad" or whatever. So they need to get in with the "queer" crowd - the "weird, interesting" people.
There's also a matter of oppression olympics with these people but honestly, when it comes to the people in your group, I think it's mainly the first part.

Demon AU Sebastian x Cis female reader
Hey guys! I had an idea for a demon AU, and I had to get it out of my system!
18+ ONLY! Please and thank you.
Summary: Sebastian is stressed, and Abigail suggests he summons a succubus for some stress relief. He does so, but doesn't expect the succubus to be the new farmer!
Word count: 2,069 words
Warnings/content: demon farmer, cunnilingus, vaginal sex, cis female reader
Enjoy!
"Why did I agree to this again?" Sebastian grumbled, making his way to the library. Alex had posted a request on the notice board, asking if anyone knew of a good Japanese tutor.
Robin had seen it and rushed over to Sebastian, shoving the paper in his face. Sebastian frowned, and glared up at her.
"I'm pretty rusty on grammar and shit though," he said, handing the paper back. "And I only ever speak it with Sobo." His grandmother spoke very little English, so it was easier to speak to her in her native language.
"You still might be some help!" Robin said encouragingly. "I think it would be a good idea."
"Why don't you do it? You speak as much as I do," Sebastian pointed out.
"Because you need a reason to leave the house," Robin said with a smirk. "And this is that reason."
So now Sebastian was Alex's Japanese tutor, and it was proving to be…difficult. And not for the reasons Sebastian would have assumed. Alex was actually pretty good, and picked new things up quickly. The real problem was that Alex kept trying to pry into Sebastian's personal life.
Okay, maybe Alex was just trying to be a pal. A bro. A friend. But Sebastian didn't like chatting about himself, and certainly not when he was supposed to be teaching. So when Alex began to ask his questions that day, Sebastian nearly slammed his head onto the table.
"I'm just sayin', you seem stressed," Alex said, twirling his pencil around. "It's not healthy."
"I'm fine," Sebastian said tersely. "Now, as I was saying…when you have two adjective sentences, and you want to combine them into one sentence, you need to change the adjective in the first sentence to te-form, and then–"
"You know what I do when I'm stressed?" Alex interrupted. Sebastian breathed out slowly through his nose, trying not to snap at him.
"I'll tell you," Alex said, not waiting for a response. "I get laid. That's what you need to do."
Sebastian choked on air.
"I'm sorry, what?" he snapped.
"I said you need to get laid!" Alex repeated.
"I know what you said, I just can't believe you said it," Sebastian said, glaring at him.
"Just giving some advice, one bro to another," Alex said with a shrug. "There's gotta be someone you wanna bang in this town."
Sebastian said nothing, and Alex chuckled.
"Yeah yeah, you don't gotta tell me who. But you should go for it."
"There isn't anyone," Sebastian said, gritting his teeth. "And even if there was, that person wouldn't want me."
"Aw, c'mon! You're selling yourself short!" Alex said with a smile.
"You offering?" Sebastian asked, and burst out laughing at the look on Alex's face. "I'm joking," he snorted.
"Oh!" Alex said, pink in the face. "Uh. Right. Well um…I think that's enough for today! See you Friday?"
"Sure," Sebastian said, and shook his head as Alex left.
"What was that about?"
Sebastian nearly jumped out of his skin at these words, turning to see Abigail standing near him. She slipped into Alex's abandoned spot, and rested her chin on her hand.
"You scared the shit out of me," Sebastian said.
"Not my fault you're easily startled. Anyway, why did Alex run out of here like that?"
"He was being an ass, suggesting I get laid to calm down or some shit. So I asked if he was offering and he freaked," Sebastian explained.
"Maybe he's finally starting to discover his suppressed bisexuality," Abigail mused, and Sebastian looked at her quizzically.
"Wh–?"
"He's right though," she said. "You should get laid."
Sebastian groaned. "With who? One night stands in a town like this don't go unnoticed."
"You could…I dunno…go to the city?" Abigail suggested. Sebastian looked unimpressed.
"I'm not–"
"WAIT!" Abigail practically shouted. Penny shushed them loudly from across the room, and Abigail lowered her voice.
"You could summon a sex demon." She looked dead serious, and Sebastian sighed.
"Look, I know you're obsessed with the occult and shit…and I'm not saying that isn't fun. But that's not even possible." Sebastian said. "Those rituals or whatever aren't real."
"I've borrowed some pretty intense books on the occult from this very library," Abigail said. "If we want a real ritual, there's probably a book in here that has it. All we have to do is ask Gunther."
"Oh fuck no," Sebastian said, crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair. "I'm not asking Gunther to point me in the direction of a how-to-book on summoning a demon for sex!"
"Well I will," Abigail said, standing up. "Because I'm not a coward."
"Abby. Abigail. Wait you can't—!"
But Abigail was already strutting up to the counter. He couldn't watch. This was going to end badly, he knew it.
To his amazement, Abigail dropped a dusty tome in front of him. He had been waiting for about 30 minutes, and had already texted Abigail 3 times in an attempt to see what was going on.
"Page 42," she said. "Apparently some guy named Rasmodius donated a bunch of weird shit, and this book has a spell. Looks legit to me."
"Good lord," Sebastian said, shaking his head. "You have zero shame."
"And thank God for that, or you wouldn't have this book! You better try it out, okay? And you have to tell me if it works." Abigail said, eyes shining bright.
"Fuck, fine, whatever," Sebastian said. "I'll do it."
You wiped some sweat off your brow as you finished watering your crops. Exhaustion was creeping in. Health wise, things weren't looking good for you. The wizard in the tower nearby had planted a book in the library, telling you it would help things. You didn't believe him.
The potions he was making you helped, but nothing compared to–
You gasped suddenly. Your vision was getting blurry at the edges, and your skin was tingling. This could only mean one thing.
You were being summoned.
Sebastian felt like an idiot as he set up this summoning ritual. As he lit the candles, he wondered what his mom would say if she came downstairs to find a pentagram drawn on the floor. The other items had been a bitch to find, and he wasn't sure this would be worth it. Sure he'd get in an "I told you so" to Abigail when it didn't work, but getting that void essence had left him drained.
Picking up the book again, he began to say the words written on the pages.
Nothing happened.
Sebastian was just about to pack everything up when the candles began to flicker. A light began to pulse in the middle of the ring of candles. Sebastian watched transfixed. Was it working?
In a blinding flash of light, a figure appeared. Sebastian stared at the figure. The figure stared back.
"Sebastian?" you croaked out.
"You're the new farmer!" Sebastian blurted out.
"Yep," you said, looking around. "I guess the jig is up. You know what I am."
"You're a sex demon?" Sebastian said incredulously. "That's…that's…" he sat down on his bed, looking thoroughly confused.
"Succubus is the actual term," you said casually. You looked around the room, taking it all in, and then glanced at Sebastian. He looked like he was in the middle of some sort of crisis.
"Are we doing this or what?" You asked. "I was kind of doing something, so if we could get this show on the road, that would be great."
Sebastian blinked at you. "What?"
"You summoned me, a Succubus. I'm assuming you did that hoping to get laid, right? Not just for a quick chat," you said, rolling your eyes.
"I didn't know it would be you!" Sebastian said, eyes wide.
"Disappointed?" you asked. "There's a spell for an incubus if that was what you actually wanted."
"N-no, I'm not disappointed," Sebastian said shakily. "Just…surprised."
"Understandable," you said with a nod. "But you still haven't answered me. Are we doing this or not?"
Sebastian gulped. You didn't look particularly sexy at the moment. You were wearing your work clothes, smears of dirt all over them. There were bags under your eyes, and your ponytail was coming undone.
But Sebastian couldn't help but be excited anyway. He had lied to Alex earlier. There was someone he wanted to bang in town, and that person was you. But…
"This wouldn't mean anything, would it?" he said, disappointment in his voice. You looked thrown at this response, but your expression softened.
"You like me, don't you?" You said, sitting next to him. Sebastian blushed, and you put a hand over his. His body immediately stiffened.
"It could mean something," you said slowly. "I've found myself drawn to you in a way I've never felt before. Perhaps this is what romantic feelings are."
"Yeah?" Sebastian croaked out. "Well um…we could do this and then…go on a date?"
You chuckled. "Sounds good. Let's get you out of this," you said, eyes hooded. You tugged at the hem of Sebastian's hoodie, and he swiftly pulled it off.
"No shirt?" you asked, reaching out to stroke his well defined abs. You had figured the manual labor that Robin put him through would do something for him. You were pleased to see that you had been correct.
"It's hot out!" Sebastian protested.
"You're right," you said. "I'll need to strip too." You pulled your shirt off, and grinned at the look of pure lust on his face.
"See something you like?" You teased.
"Fuck yeah," Sebastian groaned. He scooted closer, eyes flicking to yours for permission. He ran his hands over your chest, squeezing gently.
"Damn," he muttered. You quickly discarded your bra, and he pushed you down, mouth latching on to your nipple. He gently began to suck, rolling the other with his fingers.
You let out a pleased sound, and were rewarded with the feeling of his hard cock against you. He began to rock his hips, giving you both a slight amount of pleasure as you rubbed against the other.
Finally it became too much, and pants and underwear were quickly discarded.
"Wanna taste you," Sebastian moaned, and you opened your legs invitingly. His eyebrows shot up.
"What?" you asked.
"So wet already," he said, lifting your legs over his shoulders.
"Wouldn't be much of a succubus if I wasn't ready right away," you teased.
Sebastian didn't seem to register your words. He placed a gentle kiss on your clit before licking your folds open. His tongue explored you, dipping inside a few times before circling your clit. You moaned loudly, spurring him on.
You'd had plenty of good head before, but this topped the charts. His tongue was like magic, making you squirm and clutch the sheets. When you came, you grabbed him by the hair, pushing his face into your pussy. Sebastian didn't seem to mind in the slightest.
When he put your legs down, you scooted back and then crawled onto him.
"You're turn, cutie," you purred. He quickly got onto his back and you slid down on his girthy cock, the two of you moaning as one.
Putting your hands on his chest for stability, you raised yourself up a bit before slamming back down. He gasped out in pleasure as you set a quick pace, using him purely for your own pleasure.
Sebastian's hands gripped your hips, and you allowed him to start thrusting up into you. He chased his orgasm, brow sweaty. When your pussy clenched around him as you came again, he shouted out. Hot ropes of cum shot into you, his eyes rolling back.
It was a few moments before you got off, lying next to him. He turned his head towards you, looking fucked out of his mind.
"So good," he slurred, making you laugh.
"Duh," you said.
"You look…different," he said suddenly.
"Healthier?" you supplied. "I feed off of sex," you explained. "I haven't had it in a few months, so I wasn't doing well."
"Well maybe I could keep you healthy," Sebastian suggested.
"I'd like that," you said. "It'd be mutually beneficial. But next time, just come over to my house."
Sebastian chuckled and nodded. "Sounds good."
"We're still on for that date, yeah?" you asked, and Sebastian looked surprised
"You really want to do that?" he asked, looking hopeful. You placed a soft kiss on his lips and smiled.
"I really would."

Hi! I've been scrolling your blog, I got a couple questions.
First, do you have a page where I can read your entire comic just from start to where it is now?
B, your mc, with the red hand, Delaney? Are they trans fem? I keep seeing them portrayed different ways, masc/fem. Did the bots help them come out? If they did that's just sick af and I love it. (I love it regardless, your art is awesome)
3, not really a question, just that your art is awesome and I'm glad you're cool :3
You can find the full list in order on my Discord Server, check it out in my Link.tree - https://linktr.ee/the_red_right_hand
2. They are cis female, BUT I've sort of never addressed gender with them because I don't think they've ever let it define them! Mainly because in the early days people assumed she was a guy, and I was never gonna correct them. Delany's Delany! That's all she's really worried about amidst treason!
3. Thank you!

Mr. Rad Guy, I've wanted to get your opinion on something for a while now, and finally snagged what I was looking for on twitter. I normally don't pay any of those transphobic Bridget discourse peddlers any mind, but they bring up her appearence in the canon pachinko game Vastege as supposed "proof" that Strive's story direction for her is a contradictory retcon. This game's plot takes place just three months before Xrd's, and they claim that through her voicelines she is still insisting sternly that she's a man and not to call her cute, but also that she STILL hasn't broken her village's superstition at this point in time. This is the only image they ever have as so-called evidence, so I wanted to see if you know if these lines are legitimately in the game, scrapped content, or made up altogether. I don't trust these lunatics as far as I can throw them when it comes to telling the whole truth 🤨
Tumblr media
This screenshot is from same manuscript of dialog that is in the lore server archives and in the GG VXT archive pack that I compiled and uploaded to Archive.org. As far as I know, these lines were all used in the game and no unused lines have been (or even could be) datamined. Two of the lines here are highlighted so I'm assuming they're the ones these dorks are using to try to prove their point. I've translated them.
First line:
I want to break the village's rule/law*, and return to the village as a young man.
*In the official localizations I think they might translate this as "tradition" or "superstition" instead of rule or law.
"Young man" in that line is 男の子 (otokonoko). Do not let anyone convince you Bridget is using the other otokonoko there (男の娘;"young man with a feminine aesthetic"). They like to do that a lot, argue that it's the one that uses 娘.
Second line:
Cute is uncalled for... I'm a man.
In conclusion: Yes. Bridget is using almost 1:1 recycled dialog in Vastedge that she used in XX and the spinoffs. The Twitter grifters' Google Translating was correct this time.
Vastedge's plot may take place only 3 months before Xrd, but Vastedge itself came out in 2013—8 entire years before Strive released in 2021. A lot can change in 3 months in real life, but after almost a decade most people are entirely different altogether (wrt Daisuke and his plot decisions). Also it's a friggin pachislot machine lmfao Like, are people really expecting something as earth shattering as a character as irrelevant to the general plot like Bridget suddenly stopping all of the action to explore her identity on a slot machine? I have no patience for these people anymore. They're just stupid and arguing because they have no hobbies.
There's also the fact that Daisuke originally planned for Bridget to be a cis girl until the very last minute. So if anything her coming out in Strive was just returning to the starting concept. He mentions this in the interview in the back of Artworks of Guilty Gear X 2000-2004. Translation by fairymisao.
(27)---The character Bridget, introduced in Guilty Gear XX, looks like a girl but is actually a boy, right? What was your intention in deciding on creating this kind of character? Ishiwatari: The creation of Bridget as a boy happened at the very last second; during development I was drawing him as purely a girl. It's just that when there is a need to give a worldly backbone (to the game), in order for me to try to not forget each character, and in order to revive the character, I give them my very heart. As a result, the creation of Bridget as actually a boy instead of a girl was because I thought he could become my alter ego. [...]
It's also important to note that Vastedge was the first thing ASW made for Guilty Gear after getting the full rights to the IP back from Sega after the Sega-Sammy merger in 2011 (which they had started to lose a bit before Overture's release in 2004). They were absolutely more focused on making something that would generate income and looked flashy than they were a compelling cinematic experience.

Thank you for creating this account, you are so brave.
Prefacing: I used to tolerate TS and her music when I was a teen and couldn't really avoid it. Now I'm 25 and I find her abhorrent as a human being.
(I'm not American and where I am from TS was never a Big Hit, unless we're talking 14 year old girls that eventually grow out of liking her. It's not entirely for a good reason, my country's a bit too conservative-brainwashed to like a self-proclained "girl boss" on a gov. level.)
Something that I noticed about that cult-like worship of that frankly boring woman is that most of the interesting shit about her is 1. made up 2. not about her music and I DO NOT understand how this is even considered a singer anymore.
Like, for example. A bunch of liberal queers like her because they take her bland music and fill it with their own meanings. Her lyrics are so soulless and boring and generic you can apply them to anything. You don't have to go listen to staples of quuer music like what drag queens, or queer women, or Black gay men create: because their music is visceral, it speaks onto real lived through opression that not everyone can relate to. But not with fucking TS! She writes the most TYPICAL line and a bunch of people assign some secret gay meaning to it. The amount of times I saw TS added to playlists for queer content is ridiculous. Like she wouldn't be half as popular if her music was regarded as what it is: straight white girl soliloquy.
The shit about her love life? Should not be fucking mentioned in regards to her as an artist. She's SO fucking fake. She will complain that people only see her as some girl who dates all those guys but she's the one fucking monetizing her love story. I'd understand if she didnt TRY TO but she fucking does! She knows she's bland and boring and she relies on people liking gossip enough to listen to her crap.
ok quick note when you said “liberal queers” it should be “queer liberals”. im assuming english isnt your first language so your native tongue has different grammatical rules but in this instance you put “queer” in front of “liberal.” i just don’t want you to be accused of being homophobic or anything so this is a quick note for you
you said you were 25 and everyone who’s been following this blog has been 20+ demographic in particular. i think it must be because we’re old enough to remember her entire journey starting w the 2009 kanye west mtv incident up until this moment. her staunchest swifties on here were born after the fearless release 💀
hmmmm i always wonder what people imply by Taylor Swift being a global superstar. like she’s isn’t popular in the entire continent of Africa but that doesn’t count apparently? and as much as she is popular in south asia, so much news is framed with a western perspective and all westerners think whiteness is default, and this includes taylor swift. i wouldnt be surprised if theyre inflating her popularity abroad as they are here in the states. idk
and so true! she’s known for her controversies and dating drama. even her music is known not for its success but ppl questioning the legitimacy of her grammys she’s received for her music.
also your gaylor hate—i understand. im not straight and i think gaylors were lobotomized by taylor swift’s music like genuinely these bitches have bricks for brains. there are soooooooo many better queer musicians especially musicians of color who write songs of their literal shared experience of queer love, identity, etc. but here they go theorizing that taylor seift and karlie kloss secretly dated 😭 it reminds me of this convo i had with my friend about gay people admiring/looking up to straight and cis people and labelling them as “gay icons.” its so stupid and reductive and continues to marginalize actual queer artists.
also talking abt taylor swift playlists i will never forget when i found spotify’s bad bunny x taylor swift playlist inspired by their photo from the 2023 grammys 💀 it was so dumb
“straight white girl soliloquy” PERIOD ANON! i need to start making a list of what you guys say cause its fkn fire
taylor swift embedded her relationships so deeply into her brand and music that its inseparable from herself. she really does define herself by her partners and her fans do too, which is why they expected this to be a joe alwyn album.
she really is so unoriginal and unremarkable and that’s why her thing WORKS. because to swifties she’s like “another everyday girl like you and me :)” 🙄 whatever. yuck!

saw a tiktok and wanted to this myself, so…
my mighty med/lab rats/elite force lgbt+ headcanons
(including all the roles i wanted to add, not just the mains)
Kaz:
- Bisexual, very open and casual about it, (Often refers to himself as gay because it comes naturally and the difference isn’t that important to him)
- Cis guy, but he also doesn’t care that much (as in he would wear a skirt or dress, he just doesn’t)
- Doesn’t come out, he just lets people figure it out (“If you don’t know I’m gay yet, that’s on you”)
- Not afraid of getting into yelling matches or fights with homophobes for himself or his friends
Oliver:
- Trans ftm (come on, you guys also watched Oliver Hatches The Eggs, right? They were trying to send us a message!)
- His mom had refused to believe him at first, but when he didn’t stop claiming he was a boy no matter how many specialists and doctors she brought him to, she just accepted it
- She went full ‘you’re a boy’ mode, and he wasn’t allowed to do anything she considered slightly girly at all, (he was just glad she didn’t hate him, but now he’s very afraid of seeming feminine because he thinks people won’t see him as a guy anymore)
- Sits the Elite Force down to come out, but he works himself up about it and is so filled with nerves that he starts crying (the others panic thinking something is seriously wrong)
- Kaz is the only one that knew from before because they’re best friends
- Bonds with Chase about being trans
- Gay with comphet (because of his mother making him believe that was his only choice)
- Because of that, he hasn’t come out as gay (because he doesn’t know he’s gay yet), and sometimes he comes off as slightly homophobic (also due to the fact that he has very fragile masculinity and thinks guys can’t be feminine)
- The others get mad at him, but he doesn’t mean anything bad, his mom just kinda sucked (and it’s hard to shake some of the things she’s told him)
- Very afraid of homophobic and transphobic people, which is why he takes so long to come out to his friends
Skylar:
- Bisexual with a preference for women or lesbian with comphet
- I like her and Oliver so I hc her as ‘Doesn’t really care because it’s not a thing on Caldera’
- Cis girl
Alan:
- Cishet
- Idk what more to say about him
Gus:
- Gender fluid
- Pan maybe? I imagine him swinging every way because he really doesn’t care about gender
Horace:
- Cishet
- Supportive, but very confused about everything (he always uses the wrong labels when talking about someone)
Jordan:
- Cis
- Aromantic (She thinks it’s gross)
Stephanie:
- Cishet (Though she does kind off have a weird thing for Gus so I’m not so sure)
- Will hang out with gay people just because they’re gay so she can seem like a good person
Tecton & Megahertz:
- They’re gay and dating (I think this ship is kinda funny so… it’s canon)
- They’re both cis
Captain Atomic:
- Cishet
- Slightly homophobic
- Also very misogynistic
Chase:
- Trans ftm (the constant joking about his height and how girly he is in lab rats? A Sign.)
- Came out when he was very young, he always knew
- Raised in a basement so you’d think he didn’t know about transphobia for a very long time, but he did, (Mr.Davenport talked to him about it and he researched it thoroughly)
- Bisexual
- Tries to avoid homophobic and transphobic people, and just ignores them, but it doesn’t always work. Sometimes he’ll just take it because he doesn’t want to fight, and it makes the other worry about him a lot
- Other times, Spike comes out and he goes crazy on them, and people leave him alone for a while after that
Bree:
- Lesbian with comp het (she thought she was straight because that’s all she knew, and then she thought she was bi because she liked girls, but then she realized she didn’t like guys)
- Cis girl
- Will verbally kill a homophobe
Adam:
- Everyone assumes he’s straight, because he never came out as anything else (he just doesn’t really care about coming out at all)
- He mentions something about a guy he likes/dated back in high school and everyone is super shocked
- “I thought you guys knew”, - “We thought you were straight!?” - “I never said that either” - “fair enough”
- Cis guy
- He’s not transphobic, and only makes those jokes about chase because he genuinely forgets chase wasn’t born a boy. (Chase thinks that makes him his biggest supporter even if the jokes sting)
- Will beat up anyone that says or does anything mean to his siblings about it
Leo:
- Straight
- He/They (idk if that counts as non binary?)
- Would start fights with homophobes and then realize he’s fucked and needs help
- Got bullied for being gay even if he isn’t, definitely came home after being picked on and trying to hide his injuries from tasha (who notices and calls the school right away)
- Will still start fights with homophobes, now knowing that he can take them
Marcus:
- He’s an android so technically not cis, but he’s a guy (he fucking hates it/its pronouns because he’s not just a machine)
- Aromantic & Asexual (he’s very indifferent to both relationships and sex)
- Doesn’t really do relationships, but if he did, it would be more like his partner in crime (real crime not pranks)
- If he did get an evil sidekick of sorts, he’d probably be gay
- Will claim to have any gender of sexuality if it’ll help him out of anything, no matter how small
- Will also accuse anyone of being homophobic if it helps him in any way (Douglas hates both of these)
- Outing someone is the one thing that he doesn’t do (Douglas is so proud of that one)
- Will start a fight with anyone at any time, and realizes beating someone up for being homophobic won’t get him in trouble sends him on a mission to find every bully at school
- He claims it’s just because he won’t get in trouble, but Douglas knows that deep down he cares (because he does get in trouble at school, just not at home)
Donald:
- I want to say cishet, but trans ftm is calling my name from afar
- Straight and borderline homophobic (he supports the people he knows and cares about, but in itself he thinks homosexuality is wrong)
- Will use his kids sexualities to look even better in media, with no regards for what they feel about it (They hate it)
- Outs people, but also tells his kids he’s proud of them no matter what and supports them, so they’re not very sure what he really thinks
- He’s just weird about it
- Will pretend he didn’t hear the homophobic or transphobic comment toward his kids if it means avoiding a conflict
Tasha:
- Cishet
- Very supportive of everyone
- Calls out homophobes and tries to inform everyone she knows about how important it is to be an ally
- Starts a group with some other moms to show support (the others think it’s a bit much, but she’s just being nice so they let her)
Douglas:
- Bisexual, but evil about it
- Strictly dated other bad guys/villains that he worked with, so most of his relationships sucked and ended badly (see; Krane and Giselle)
- Trans ftm
- Has a lot of kids, but honestly doesn’t know who any of their dads are
- I want Adam, Bree, and Chase to have the same dad, but I also kinda wanna say Adam has a different one, and that Bree and Chase are twins
- Daniel has another dad again, and Douglas realized he couldn’t raise the kid alone, so he had him adopted to keep him safe
- Will piss off a transphobe and run away from the fight
Perry:
- She/They
- Will rip a homophobe to pieces without breaking a sweat (she also knows a guy, so getting rid of any evidence is easy)
…..
and that’s everyone i could think of!

no ya 100% !! i usually just default to charas being switches but even i, a trans guy, get worried a little when i draw other trans guys on the bottom bc im like. i worry that it'll look fetishy (even though 900% of the art like that ive drawn is t4t so like duh one of them has to be the bottom am i stupid LMAO) but bottom tboy kabru art almost Always looks fetishy or leaves a sour taste for me because of the fandom treatment @_@ i know not everyone who draws kabru like that means to be weird but erm some people have to start thinking before they draw, i fear.
and yaaaa the izu stuff was crazy like there is a lot of pretty guys in dunmeshi that ppl assumes are girls at first glance but bitches were acting like izutsumi being a girl was their 9/11. and then they turned around and started being all weird about her gender like. UGH theres a difference between ppl who read izutsumi's dysmorphia and relate it to their own dysphoria VS people who only think shes trans bc they thought she was a boy
so true so true 😭 Like bro I can enjoy bottom tboys too, but the amount of nsfw art i see of them ONLY being bottoms just makes me feel yucky... esp when they're paired up with cis characters. t4t rocks tho!!!!!!!!
Omfg, I only saw one tweet abt Izutsumi like that and blocked the person immediately. I'm so mad she's treated like this too!! But yeah, exactly, headcanoning a character as trans just cuz they didn't get their gender right at first glance and were disappointed is just ewwww.

and really truly guys, at the end of the day if we can conceptualize that feminine gay men are pretty directly effected by misogyny while also very much being able to turn around and enact that misogyny on others and benefit from it as men, i think it's within our power to realize that same framework applies to transmisogyny. realize that no matter how mad you are as a man or trans masc about experiencing some parts of that oppression, you can still turn around enact that transmisogyny on others in ways that will directly benefit you. being a target of oppression and hate does not mean you are incapable of perpetuating the same by any means. In my life, the some of the most unashamed, outspoken, and severe misogynistic oppression that i've seen has come from gay men who are bitter that they don't have the full access to white cis het male privilege they feel they deserve, and who choose to cope with this by punching down on those around them who are often far more directly effected by misogyny and far more vulnerable than them.
I do think a lot of people will be able to relate to this, it is hard for me to imagine someone who hasn't run across an extremely bitter and misogynistic gay man in their time on this earth. and at the risk of assuming we all understand why that's still not okay, i ask you to consider- are you doing the same?? are you refusing to listen to trans women because you are too preoccupied with how transmisogyny affects you? are your feelings getting hurt when it is implied that you are not as effected by it to the same extent that trans women and trans fems are? do you respond to this concept by attacking trans fems?
You are responsible for who you are in this world. And if you choose to respond to your own oppression by punching down on those more vulnerable than you, you are responsible for that. No amount of talking over women is going to change that.
so why are we so stubbornly refusing to recognize this?? i'm really fucking sick of seeing trans masc people shut down these conversations that we as a community need to be to having about the nature of transmisogyny and how it actually functions in this world because they don't feel specifically included. again, imagine a gay man coming into a conversation about misogyny and doing the same, dismissing the analysis of women and centering himself and the way HE experiences misogyny. it's obviously not okay, it's obviously not going to help deconstruct anything, he is speaking over women. why do we seem to suddenly think thats okay to do ourselves to when she is a trans woman???????????
y'all are speaking over trans women and trans fems so constantly, trying to feel like the most oppressed person in the room. because your ego won't let you acknowledge that even if it is a fact that you experience some aspects of transmisogyny, that does not negate the privilege you very well may still hold over those who are the MOST effected by it!!!!!!!! those who cannot escape it!!!!! in my opinion this is really a basic function of how oppression works. being trans doesn't excuse you from checking your privilege, and it doesn't prevent you from acting as an oppressor. if i may speak to the white trans people specifically here, we are very responsible, we are very complicit in this. consider your actions. consider your motivation. consider why it is so difficult for you to fucking listen to women and trans fems and other people who directly experience these forms of oppression that you claim to give a fuck about!!!!!!! check yourself. because you are actively holding us back.
if you genuinely care about transmisogyny, take it fucking seriously. hold YOURSELF accountable. in fighting these systems of oppression, that has to come first. without personal accountability for our actions, we cannot effectively organize, because we cannot even begin to form communities that are safe for trans women and fems to be in. if you want to help us make things better, it starts between you and your ego. do the work.
