He was really curious that's why he instantly checked the files on your computer. And he found it. Once he read it, he was agitated. He decided to not ruin your surprise further and not say he had read it, plus you were probably going to change it a bit anyway.

Hurting Eyes

Do you ever lie in bed and feel how much your eyes hurt?

Not just from looking at screens all day, but physically hurt if you touch them?

My eyes hurt from the faintest touch. My lids feel raw and a shifting eyelash feels like a small whip across my skin.

This pain is from my drive home today. From my broken heart. From my renewing tears. From all the things I've lost. From the things I'm rediscovering.

I cried most of the forty minute drive home, and stopped at the cemetery for a handful of minutes more before driving the few blocks home. Home, a place I crave but will remain broken while this Earth exists.

All my pain and joy comes from the things I've lost and gained. Things I would never change, and things I would sacrifice everything I have to change. But in the end it's all mine. It's my pain and joy, from my things I've lost and gained, and I'm holding them gingerly in my grip with arms of protection around what I can.
