TWD 10x14: Look at the Flowers - First Thoughts
How did everyone like the episode? I have to say, me and my fellow theorists were really worried this would be a supremely boring episode for TD. The spoilers were just so lack luster. Nothing like last week when we found out about Rick’s boots, you know? So we just hoped we would see some good symbolism. The kind of stuff the spoilers wouldn’t ever touch on.
I’m happy to say that there really is tons of good symbolism in this episode. It does feel a bit like a filler episode, because nothing huge happens. There are basically two story lines going on here. Eugene’s group heading out to meet Stephanie, and in that respect it’s a bridge to that story line because we only see them traveling but they don’t truly “get there” before the end of the episode. And the rest is a huge turning point in Carol’s arc. Which is great, but something like that is always going to be a little less interesting to us TDers. But, thankfully, I saw plenty of things that made me super excited for what’s to come.
***As always, spoilers abound below for 10x14. Don’t read until you’ve watched! You’ve been warned!***
Tumblr media
Eugene, Yumiko and Zeke:
I’ll give you the best one first. Out of a clear blue sky, Eugene starts taking about CHOCOLATE BUNNIES for Easter. Not only has the rabbit symbolism been around since S4, but Eugene actually mentions Easter. And what does Easter celebrate? Resurrection. The Stephanie expedition is SO gonna lead to Beth. Plus, they were next to a set of train tracks during this convo, and Eugene even points that out, so I think that’s important.
When Zeke’s group reached the city, there was tons of pink and purple galore. And that’s because of the Princess character, but those colors are important. There’s the pink theory, of course. But there is also lots of purple and fuchsia. Purple is actually a big color when it comes to the Christian holidays of Advent and Lent. I’ll get into more of that tomorrow.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, a lot of the walkers the Princess has dressed up and chained up look exactly like the Rich Bitch walker from Still.
Also, with the police walker? They find a car with a walker cuffed to the steering wheel and the cop walker cuffed to the front buffer. The car’s airbags are deployed. Not only is there an imprisonment theme going on there, but it reminds me of Carol getting hit by the Grady car. And also of the sighting of Emily being seen driving one of the cop cars around. It’s almost like the Princess set this up like a humorous scene. A car hitting a cop. And they draw attention to it by having Zeke laugh at it. That just screams Grady to me.
Along the way, Eugene’s group saw walkers in cages with a bird. Mostly, I think it was a foreshadow of imprisonment. And specifically, an imprisoned bird.
Tumblr media
Let’s talk Zeke for a minute. They are SO setting up his death fake out. While I still can’t say exactly when it will come, I do suspect that he won’t make it back from this trip in a conventional way. I think Yumiko and Eugene will “lose” him and think he’s dead and return to tell Carol that he’s “gone.” And then, because she finally decided to get it together and start again, she’ll have tons of guilt and grief.
I just felt like everything about Zeke’s stuff here was heavily foreshadowing that. They camped under a bridge. There was a flower graffitied on the pillar of it. Reminded me of the one by Carol and Tara in s8. His horse died of a walker bite. (And you know, this is a minute detail, but I’m wondering if it won’t be a matter of someone simply using radiation to heal his cancer, but rather, like the other fake outs, there will be a walker bite and they’ll be treating him specifically for that and sort of heal his cancer by accident.)
When his horse dies,  Zeke kills it and is very emotional and wants Yumiko to promise that if he falls while in the city, she’ll leave him behind. She says no, but just feels like a really obvious foreshadow.
Tumblr media
I also had a thought about Eugene. My fellow theorists and I have often discussed the scene from 5x05 when Eugene sits on the fire truck and reads the book, “The Shape of Things to Come” and then Maggie talks to him about Sampson. It’s just such a blatant biblical reference and we’ve always struggled to understand its significance for Eugene.
So, it occurs to me that Eugene used to have short hair and now it’s super long. Like all the way down his back. He used to be weak and afraid but he’s kind of become a badass in his own right. At least, as far as killing walkers goes. His speech about being the fool brought Sampson to mind because Sampson is often seen as Delilah’s fool. I’m just wondering if Eugene has become Sampson and Stephanie will be his Delilah.
Beta:
So Beta’s back and probably wants revenge for Alpha’s death. Dude is definitely not going gentle into that good night.
Tumblr media
The place Beta went to definitely smacked of the golf club, and there were tons of important symbols in there. (Booze, crosses, a guitar, etc.) I’ll get to more of them tomorrow.
The song lyrics have some interesting themes. The first one is Emily’s Turtle and Monkey song. The last one is too, I believe. The one in the middle is different. I have a lot to say about the song lyrics. I’ll get into that tomorrow.
And it occurred to me that we once again have a representation of Alpha and Beta being an evil twin version of Beth and Daryl. Beta breaking the guitar could represent Beth getting shot, and he’s lost Alpha in much the way Daryl lost Beth. Then, at the end, he wears some of Alpha’s face, which is a sick, twisted version of Daryl keeping Beth’s knife. Carrying a part of her with him. Then he marches off to war, just as Daryl would participate in AOW and the Whisper Wr.
Carol:
Let’s talk Carol first. While I know the shippers are running wild, I don’t even particularly feel like addressing that. They’ll always come up with something totally ludicrous. And remember, they believed this was the episode where Daryl and Carol would hook up or declare their undying love. Or…something. Once again, that didn’t even come close to happening.
But I’ll point out some things here that will show how exactly the opposite is happening. While this is a major, turning point in Carol’s arc, she’s also a proxy for Beth here, and I’m pretty sure she returned to Alexandria to patch things up with Zeke.
Tumblr media
Okay, Carol does mental battle with herself in the form of Alpha, right? And it’s actually really interesting if you listen to what’s being said. Everyone Carol has ever lost is mentioned, including Lizzy, Mica, Sophia, and even Ed. Alpha razzes her about being a defective parent and says Ed was right about her. It’s pretty brutal, but obviously Carol doing battle with her own soul.
Then she gets trapped under the boat and the debris from the shed. Alpha encourages her to just accept her death and let it bite her. (Insight about that in a minute.) Carol, of course, breaks free and kills the walker, saving herself. She says, “it’s never too late.”
So, I think this is very much an epiphany moment for Carol and she’s probably going back to start over, patch things up with Zeke and try to be human again. She doesn’t say that or anything, but it says a lot that she was trying hard to leave the group (a la S5-s7) but after this breakthrough, so goes back to Alexandria of her own accord.
Honestly guys, this gives me a little bit of hope for Carol. I’ve been thinking lately that she’s on a Shane-esque downward spiral that she’s really not ever going to recover from. Up until now, she’s been so all-consumed with killing Alpha, that she really couldn’t focus on anything. But now, some part of her recognizes that it’s not too late and probably wants the happiness she once had with Zeke. It’s a big enough part of her that she actually went back to Alexandria. That’s good. That’s a big change for her.
Do I think she’s going to get the happiness just yet? Mmmm….no.
I’ll talk about this more below, but I’m pretty sure Zeke’s death fake out will come before he returns from his trip with Eugene. So just when Carol gets it together and wants to patch things up with him, she’ll find out he’s “died.” Yeah, everyone’s life sucks. But it will just be a death fake out. Still, this mentality from Carol is a step in the right direction.
Tumblr media
The insight I mentioned above? The” look at the flowers” line comes from Alpha when she’s encouraging Carol to let the walker bite her. She says, “you should just look at the flowers.” And she’s encouraging her to accept her death. I’d never thought of it quite that way before, but that phrase doesn’t just mean death. It means to accept death and not fight to live. If you think of how it was used before with Lizzie and Mica, that was true too. But Carol fights to live and kills the walker and goes back to Alexandria to start again. That’s why it’s such a big deal for her. She chooses to move forward instead of running away again. And only when she does that does Ghost Alpha disappear. Just thought that was interesting.
Okay, so how is Carol a proxy for Beth. Watching the episode the first time, I was a little mystified by the ending. It almost felt like a time jump. We see Carol say, “it’s never too late,” and Daryl and Negan decide she won’t be returning to the boundary, so they head home.
Tumblr media
Then we see her approaching the gate of Alexandria and Daryl is already there. It was just kind of…abrupt. We didn’t see them journey home. So not a huge jump. A few hours or the next day, but still. We don’t really know if the Hilltoppers went to Alexandria or not (I’m gonna assume they did, until we find out otherwise). We don’t know if Negan is there too (again, I’ll assume he is because he was with Daryl). And we still don’t know what’s up with Aaron, Alden, baby Adam, Luke, or Lydia. It’s like they jumped way ahead in the story for some reason.
Then I rewatched it, and a particular line jumped out at me that sort of brought the entire thing together. Let’s backtrack for a minute. So, when Carol gets trapped under the boat? I pictured it differently after reading the spoiler. I assumed it would flip over and land over her and she’d be trapped in the natural dome of space beneath it, created by an upside down boat. But it’s not just the boat that falls. The entire shed collapses and there’s heavy debris resting on her chest and pinning her painfully to the ground. I had the thought that visually it looked a lot like the trapped walker Morgan killed after the credits in Coda.
Tumblr media
But what made me really consider it was Negan and Daryl’s convo. Negan says “not to spin a broken record, but I don’t think she’s coming back.” Obviously the record thing stood out to me (and Beta also plays a record so there’s a music/record theme going on). But not until watching it the second time did the entire line of dialogue hit me.
He’s obviously talking about Carol, but the line could be applied to Beth. And should be because of the record reference. “I don’t think she’s coming back.” To which Daryl replies, “I know.” Then he leaves, rather than waiting for or searching for Carol. So, he accepts that she’s not coming back and moves on (kind of like he did with Beth). But after that, at a later time and completely independent of him, Carol shows up at Alexandria. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Meanwhile Eugene and Zeke are headed toward Grady. Um, I mean, some random hospital. ;D
Okay, I’ll stop there for today. I’ll be back tomorrow with details. What did you think of the episode?

Caryl in s10 and the TWD changes
#s10 spoilers, filming spoilers, ranting
-anti d0nnie
- u can read more of my thoughts on #*twd, I’m not good with change.
I’m overwhelmed with the many Caryl clips and pics in 10x01. It really hit me that it’s season TEN, Caryl is the Atlanta Two (sis said they’re like Katniss and Peta/Hunger Games) and are leading the show... with Negan and Judith......this dumb show that shoulda ended in s7 or 8. After Rick (and Michonne/Grimes mains), the show is not what it used to be. It’s more like a spinoff show. I wish they would make it more like a spinoff show (*spoiler, by having the kids leave with Michonne, but they’re not. I want no more Grimes, no more stringing along the Grimes legacy..because that Grimes legacy plot would be better in the movies. IDK what the writers’ plan is anyway.) Anyway, I feel like the show is already feeling like a Carol and Daryl - spinoff show. I noticed Daryl is becoming like a leading man, a leader in the show. He interacts with everyone and make decisions. He’s also more open ..especially with Carol. He’s grown a lot. I hope the writers don’t put a fast 180 on me with D0nnie stuff...first of all  I don’t see any romantic vibes between them. They seem to just be friends. Caryl hugged in front of C0nnie and she was cool with it. So..anyway.
My point is that it’s all a change to me. Like woah a different show now. Ahh. There are ofc some disappointing parts of the show. Like no Grimes boys. Idk like 2 seasons ago..I feel annoyed with this show and the writers. I see some clips and I’m like this plot sounds really cheesey (like the satellite falling..If it relates to the movie, I really hope the movie isn’t too scifi-cheesey) or some scenes seem to be edited really weird. Weird zooms in and stuff. (like wtf was the zoom in on D0nnie’s hands? what? eta. Oh it’s to show that Daryl’s learning ASL from a book. Still a random zoom.) And some weird characters moments. I wish some moments were more realistic like. (When Kelly told C0nnie about her hearing problem and then it went straight to Kelly wondering about Daryl’s interest in C0nnie. Uh idk if I was Kelly I would be still be in the moment of feeling worried or scared. Idk I still don’t like how the writers write their sisters-relationship. :\) And, there’s so many bland or super positive characters.  Just stop with OOC. I don’t know..I just want realistic moments..but I guess the show went on so far ...it became unrealistic and weird. Im like why do i care... :P it’s for fun.
Another thing, I noticed is that since Daryl is more of the lead now of the show. The fandom is different.. I mean it’s smaller, bitter, but I also think there’s more ship wars. It’s whoever they ship Daryl with, judge characters harshly quickly, and people hating Negan. Idc about Negan but I know the writers are gonna keep on doing the redemption arc just because. when it needs more work and be more careful about it. (comics did it better...) My point is that ahh I gotta not look at the fandom so much. Everyone’s annoying to me. Sorry. I don’t like rude people and hive mind talk. Anyone ship C@ryl and RIchonne? :[
So, um I hope the writers can make the show do well with transitions on becoming like a spinoff show and keep having interesting realistic moments between the characters and plots. Idk what I really want from this show. It’s already just a -ish show. I hope there’s a good Caryl storyline and years ahead. However the movies go, I hope Team family/Caryl can be part of the movies too...or New Mexico.

I wonder if anyone has asked twd show runners why they take a super popular character like Carol and try to make her so OOC that her own fans are incredibly upset about it? I’m guessing that they want to show fans that it’s not about them. That it’s about telling the story they want to tell + they think fans are entitled and whiny. Who are these people? That is some power trip! Why don’t they want to have a successful show, with a solid fanbase that they continue to surprise and excite? Weird.
I've been asking myself the very same question for several years nonny. The worst offender in this power-trip category is, by far, Mr. Pimple. And for everyone who believed things couldn't get any worse after he left the position of TWD showrunner? Uh huh yeah. How's that working out for everyone? All sarcasm aside, looking back at Carol in episodes like Indifference, The Grove and Consumed you wonder where she disappeared to. She's clearly no longer among the survivors. She was left behind at the gates of Alexandria. The woman that walked through those gates became a foil for Morgan's storyline in S6. Then she was relegated to propping up the Kingdom in S7 and S8, and now Carol will become comic-book Michonne because this show is stupid like that.Should they care about pissing off a loyal fan base and destroying the groundbreaking development of a beloved character? Of course. Do they care? Not a damn bit.

Rewatch S1x1 Days Gone Bye
It's summer break for me officially and as promised I have started my rewatch of TWD!! As soon as I started the episode I realized how long it had been since I've watched season one and wow have things changed!! **SPOILERS AHEAD** It was such an interesting choice to start the show with the first death not just being a walker, but a child. Quite the statement to make in the pilot of a show. The first thing I noticed was the little girl's ability (and want?) to pick up a stuffed animal. Being so far into the show I feel like it's easy to forget how the walkers used to be and the premiere is really telling of how much things have changed in the characteristics of the walkers. Seeing old Rick and Shane made me so happy. In the scene where Rick gets shot, you see the bond and care in their friendship. Even though we only get a brief scene in this episode of pre-apocalypse Sheriff Deputy Rick, it makes me wonder, although he quickly takes on leadership rolls in this new world, was he really all that strong before? It seems like Shane was really the leader/strong one of the duo. I also think it was a really interesting choice to only show scenes of Shane visiting Rick while he's in a coma rather than his wife (who we previously heard him complain about) and his son, the people that at this point in the show are driving all of his action. The coma scene where Rick's vision is blurry looks a lot like another scene at the end of the episode but I'll get to that in a bit!! I've ALWAYS had tons of questions about Rick being in the hospital and surviving as long as he did. I know Shane blocked the door, but I'm also curious as to how he survived logistically (could be the IVs but I don't know much about medicine) and from the walkers/people who were clearly executing folks. Rick's hospital scene has suuuuuuch dope horror movie vibes, I had forgotten about how much it really puts you on the edge of your seat. I especially love the "don't open dead inside" part, the hands coming through the locked door and all the breathy walker noises definitely felt like a good ole zombie movie. And then when he was in the staircase and eventually left the hospital only to see piles and piles of bodies, it's so shocking to watch (especially when we're almost on season 8 now, seeing profound loss doesn't seem that wild anymore in a desensitizing sort of way). Side note: Andrew's accent in the beginning is DEFINITELY different but sooooo darn cute 😭😍 When Rick finally gets home and realizes his family is no where to be found, along with no other sign of people, he goes "is this real, am I here, wake, wake up" which is an interesting line for sure (I guess this could be proof of some sort to people who believe the Rick's coma theory, which I don't really care much for but still it's a notable line nonetheless). Then we're introduced to Morgan and Duane, some of my favorite characters. After Duane hits Rick, we hear him call him "Carl" (reminded me of when Morgan calls Benjamin Duane in S7). All Rick's experiences with Morgan and Duane certainly leave a lasting impression. It's clear that the audience is meant to know we aren't seeing the last of them in episode 1. Rick riding a horse into Atlanta is such a classic scene. The use of animals in the walking dead is something I feel I don't quite understand yet (I feel their must be some deeper meaning since soon after the introduction of many animals we see them killed). I absolutely LOVE the scene where we see the first glimpse of a herd in the show. We go from only seeing walkers far and few between, not coming off as dangerous as one might think, to seeing hundreds of bodies shuffle through the tight streets of a city devouring a horse and leaving us feeling hopeless about Rick getting out of this shitty situation. Once he's in the tank and shoots the military walker, Rick's vision gets blurry and he's disoriented for a moment (probably due to the vibration of the bullet off the tank walls). This kind of looks like the coma scene where Rick sees Shane. That could mean something, or it could just be that he's weak and out of it. Then as soon as you think all hope is gone you hear sweet baby Glenn say "dumbass" 😭😭 which eventually pans out to the shot of all the walkers trying to get in the tank. Ahhhhhh so much happened in this episode and obviously I can't note every little detail but here are a few things that I thought were important/interesting/notable/etc.: -There is such a clear focus on the behaviors of the walkers, between picking up a toy, attempting to open a door, seeming to have memories (i.e. Morgans wife). Compared to the walkers in seasons to come, the strength, intelligence, and characteristics of the walkers are so different. They look so fresh at this point in the show. -This is more so just an opinion but I REALLY wish we got to see more of Duane and Morgan together. Duane's character is one that I felt could have been fascinating if explored more. -Because the apocalypse is such a new idea (obviously, it's the first episode) it makes you think we're going to get more knowledge on the why/how this happened and a possible cure, but we never really do. -I think Lori and Rick were over before all this happened, they already had a strained relationship so their falling out later comes as no surprise. I believe the love he felt for her in the later seasons and in his mourning had to do with the fact that she (and Carl) were all he had left from his life before and he wanted to preserve that in this scary world they live in now. Doing this made it easier to give him other love interests eventually. -Morgan's been saving people and changing the course of the show since season one, how fricken cool is that!!!! This were so different but I'm excited to keep watching and seeing what else I notice and pick up on that I never did before! NEXT: episode 2!!

TWD S10 Trailer: Analysis
Okay let's dive into this trailer. Lots of great symbols. I’m basically going to list everything we see (because many scenes flash by so fast that people miss them without realizing it) and make some observations along the way.
The first thing you see is the ocean and water. Obviously, Beth = water, so this would make me excited one way or the other. But it also shows that some of the symbolism we saw clear back in S4 is being fulfilled now. I talked about this recently (X) but there's the picture above Hershel which shows a ship on the ocean. We been predicting things that are ocean related (shipwrecks, etc.) for a long time. That’s why we were so excited when Oceanside became a thing in S7. Nothing much has come of it yet, but it may this season. Spoilers tell us that there's going to be a ship wreck this season and a lot of stuff happening with Oceanside. The very fact that it’s the FIRST thing in the trailer is significant.
Tumblr media
Perhaps more importantly, we see a walker impaled on some wood. I can’t tell if this walker is bobbing in the water or if he's actually walking through the surf. It could be that the camera is low and he's actually walking. Doesn’t really matter, but he's impaled on the wood piece of wood that looks like a cross (or an X). So, this is pretty much a Christ symbol walking up out of the water. That's kinda huge in terms of symbolism.
Then there’s a group of people riding horses. Nothing huge there. We could mention the Horse Theory but these aren’t black and white horses or anything.
Tumblr media
Then we hear Alpha talking. I mentioned this in an Ask on Sunday but she says, “There's only one rule. We are always watching.”
Tumblr media
One reason that's important is because many of us have noticed a theme of TF being watched from afar over the seasons. I don't think it was always the Whisperers doing the watching. It might've been the helicopter people. But if you've been keeping up with my posts, you know this theme is coming together in a big way. So, if they’re reiterating the idea of someone watching TF, that's important. We also see Michelle with binoculars to reinforce the theme.
Tumblr media
Negan talks about the skin-colored bogeyman arriving, by which he means the Whisperers.
Tumblr media
We then see Eugene running toward a radio. I think that's important given voice we heard in 9x16 and the radio stuff we've seen in Fear this season. We see Rosita with what I'm assuming is her baby and Luke looking scared. Judith holding a walker face, obviously from the Whisperers.
Then Michonne speaks. She says, "Fear is dangerous. It can drive us apart again." While Michonne speaks, we see Siddiq looking ill and then his face is plunged into water, almost as though someone is holding him under. I don't know what that means but it could signify Siddiq’s death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we get something interesting: a hooded person painting, "silence the whispers," in different places around Alexandria. No idea why they would be hooded, but it's interesting.
Tumblr media
Then we see Lydia practicing with a quarter staff (Morgan would be so proud) and obviously she and Daryl will have a lot of scenes together.
Tumblr media
Then Daryl challenges Negan, saying to them have never gone toe to toe before. Maybe that will happen in the season. It would be interesting.
Tumblr media
Michonne and Father Gabriel peer at each other from opposite sides of the fence. Later in the trailer, we also see FG in what looks like a jail of some kind. Not sure what that portends, but the interesting thing is that he’s sort of imprisoned a lot in this trailer and, because of his one eye, he’s a walking Sirius symbol, which makes him a Beth proxy. She had a lot of imprisonment symbolism around her because of Grady. So, as with so many things here, I don’t know what it means, but I’m side-eyeing it.
Tumblr media
Negan says, "If you don't protect what belongs to you, soon it will belong to someone else." While he says it, there are a lot of family-and-friends shots: Aaron with Gracie, Siddiq holding his and Rosita's baby, Daryl and Connie and Dog, and then horses riding into Oceanside.
Tumblr media
Next, Father Gabriel tries to get Negan to fight. Negan says he doesn't want to do anything but pick tomatoes. That's a nod to Carl and Carl's vision of the future where Negan literally picked tomatoes. Father Gabriel insists that Aaron needs fighters and Negan can fight. Then he says my favorite line in the entire trailer, "Peanut butter, meet jelly."
Tumblr media
(Quick refresher: this is a Beth and Daryl symbol. X At the funeral home in Alone, Beth at peanut butter and Daryl ate jelly.) FG points to Aaron when he says peanut butter and Negan when he says jelly. How many times have we said Aaron is a proxy for Beth? Even had a lot of her dialogue in 5B. So, Aaron represents Beth, and both of them are peanut butter. Negan represents Daryl, and both of them are jelly. Very nice!
Next are lots of scenes of people killing walkers in different ways and locales. Rosita punches a punching bag. Then Carol says, "Do you ever wonder if this is all there is?” Daryl answers,
Tumblr media
"Sometimes I think we’re just surviving one fight to the next." During this part, we see people fighting on the beach, Daryl and Carol hugging, a lot of stuff with boats, such as Ezekiel and Jerry trying to keep walkers inside a boat.
Tumblr media
Then Daryl says, "No more fighting. Just get on the bike and go." And it shows him and Carol on his motorcycle. Then Carol says, "Head out west." And Daryl says, "See what's left." And then more beach stuff.
Tumblr media
Okay, let’s talk about this for a minute. First, it’s worth noting that conversations in the trailer are often spliced together in a deceiving way. These lines may be (and probably are) parts of several different conversations rather than one as we har it in the trailer.
That said, I know this worries many people and a certain ship is going nuts. But there’s no reason to worry. I actually find this very intriguing. First of all, they went out of their way to define Carol and Daryl’s relationship in this trailer, and it’s still one hundred percent platonic and mother/son.
In terms of what they’re saying, Daryl implies that sometimes he wants to leave, get on his bike and ride. But it's interesting that they say “head out west.” Because, where are Morgan and his group? They’re in Texas, which is far southwest of Virginia. And then of course there's Carol. We think she's going to get on a boat at some point and take Michonne’s comic book arc. So, if anything, I think this is a foreshadow. Nobody freak out. I don't think Daryl and Carol will run away together and abandon the rest of the group. I just think at some point, this may come into the story. But I can see Daryl heading west in some way to find Beth over even Rick.
And remember that last year, both Melissa and Norman were seen in places that suggested they were filming scenes for FTWD in Texas. Obviously, we haven't seen either of them on that show and, much like Beth’s missing scenes from S5, I think they filmed this far in advance to try and minimize spoilers. But at some point, one or both of them may end up in Texas. So again, I think this is a foreshadow, but not one that any of us should be worried about. If anything, I kinda like it.
Next, Rosita and Father Gabriel, lots of people fighting, babies. Eugene seems to be measuring what I assume is Rosita's baby. Kind of funny. No idea what's going on there. Yes Eugene, babies do grow.
Daryl hugs Lydia and Magna and Kelly have a romantic moment.
Tumblr media
Michonne says, "Somehow, it's harder the second time around. You get used to having someone there. A partner in crime." During this voiceover, we see Judith and Luke together; Daryl and Connie at the head of a group walking through the woods, Carol, and a shot of the H coin from last season. Right after Michonne’s line, we see her kiss Ezekiel.
I talked about this on Sunday as well, but I feel like this is mostly misdirection. Think about what Michonne says here. It’s harder the second time around without the loved ones she misses. Without a partner in crime. She's either talking about Rick or possibly Carl. About how much she misses them. And then it shows her kissing Zeke as though it’s about him? It’s clearly not. So that alone tells me they’re being deceptive.
And yes, I suppose it might be some sort of rebound relationship with Ezekiel, but it’s a little too convenient in my mind. So again, I think this was just put in to get a rise out of the fans. Even if she and Ezekiel are in a relationship, I don't see it being anything long-term or very important.
Tumblr media
Then we get into some more Whisperer stuff. Magna says, "If we get caught on their side of the border, that's it. That's war." Right then, Daryl crosses the border.
Tumblr media
So obviously the Whisper War is about to begin in earnest. Alpha says, "What did I tell you about crossing my border? You’ll have to be punished." Then Carol says, "Bitch has to die."
Then more shots of people running, fighting, raising weapons in quick succession. We get a quick shot of Earl fighting. He’s Tammy's husband from last season. I was happy to see him.
Tumblr media
We also see a lot of flames. We actually see a lot of fire throughout the trailer. Much of it seems to be at Oceanside. So again, if Oceanside burns in some way, it will mean what happened with the Oceansiders at the end of S8 was a foreshadow. At the time, it seemed really random, and I think I even suggested then that because it was so random, it was probably a foreshadow something. Now we’ll probably see it’s fulfillment.
Tumblr media
Next, Alpha has a line I can’t quite make out. Maybe someone can tell me if they can hear better than I can. She says, “This is my ??? now. You'd better run." I’ve listened to it thirty it times and can’t understand what she says right there. And yes, I obviously checked out the subtitles, but they’re translating it as “This is my that, now.” which obviously isn’t correct.
Michonne says, "It's going to get worse before it gets better, but we aren't going to get through it at all if we do not act as one."
Alpha then says, "You should fear me."
Finally, it cuts to the humorous scene with Daryl and Carol when he says that he didn't want his best friend spend the rest of her life on a boat. Carol razzes him, saying, "What are you, ten?" Then she says she could make them matching friendship bracelets. She keeps going, teasing Daryl about the comment until he says, "I got an idea. Let's just eat and not talk."
Tumblr media
Naturally, certain shippers are pouncing all over this like it's a marriage ceremony or something. But if you think about what they're saying here, there is no more clear way to define their relationship as a friendship. Not only because she offers to make friendship bracelets for them, but because when she asks if he's ten, it's very much a throwback to Carol thinking of Daryl as little as a little boy. As her son. So this clearly defines the relationship this as a mother son relationship as well as a platonic friendship rather than romance. I thought it was a fun and humorous scene.
It also illustrates one of the major differences between Carol and Beth. Carol is utterly unsentimental. Don’t get me wrong: she can be sentimental sometimes, and she was with Ezekiel and Henry, but she's never been that way with Daryl.
Tumblr media
Actually, this reminds me of the scene on top of the bus in 3x01, where she said, "You want to make out?" And then they both laughed. It had that same ambience. And remember that right after that in 3×01, Daryl stared at Beth while she was singing. By contrast, Beth would've been much sweeter and more sentimental about what Daryl said. It’s not a bad thing on Carol’s part. It simply shows the difference in Daryl's relationship to Carol versus his relationship to Beth.
Finally, there’s a mini coda where Michonne holds Negan’s bat. Honestly, I’m not sure what to make of that. They've been foreshadowing something that has to do with Michonne and Negan for a while now. Last season, remember she went out and found his bat and saw a guy hanging, which was a lot like Librarian the Saviors hung over the bridge at the end of S6. I don't know if this portends something literal that Michonne and Negan will be involved in, or if they're trying to say that Michonne is becoming Negan in some way? That doesn’t seem particularly plausible to me, but as I said, just not sure what to make of this yet.
Tumblr media
And this coda was super short and vague, which is different than past trailers. Maybe that’s because AK is showrunner now. It will be interesting to see how this coda plays out in the season.
Okay, some closing, overall thoughts. We see a few shots of Daryl and Connie together, but nothing about them suggests a romance to me. He hugs both Carol (mother) and Lydia (daughter) more than he does Connie, who he doesn't hug at all. We do see the two of them hanging out in various ways. So, I think he's developing a friendship with Connie, much like he has with Aaron or Tara or any other member team family. Honestly, that doesn't bode well for Connie.
If you're worried about Donny being a thing, consider this. At SDCC this past weekend, they announced that Lauren Ridloff (who plays Connie) is going to start filming a Marvel movie. And congrats to her. But in my mind, there's no clearer evidence that she won’t be playing a huge role in the show moving forward.
I don't know they’ll kill her off, or just take her away for a while, like they did with Maggie. But from what we know about TWD actor contracts, they’re ironclad. The actors have to be 100% loyal to the show and often have to get special permission to do other projects. So, if Lauren Ridloff is doing something as big as a Marvel film, it must be with AMC's blessing. That tells me that either her character will die, or she's just not going to play a very big role in the show moving forward, which frees her up to do other work. If someone's going to be Daryl's love interest, that's going to be a huge role in the show. So it's already looking like those of us who assured everyone Daryl and Connie would not be a thing were correct.
The only other observation I have from the trailer is that we didn't see Lauren Cohan at all. No Maggie yet. Not a particularly big deal. The commercial tends to only cover the first handful of episodes anyway, so maybe Maggie won't be back until late in 10a or even 10B.
Overall, I'm seeing a lot of Beth symbolism. No smoking guns about her appearance, but I wouldn't expect there to be. For the most part I really loved the commercial and I'm excited for S10.

Predictions: Batteries, A/B Theory, and the Eternal Light
Okay, so this is stuff I was thinking about while watching last week’s episode. It doesn’t pertain in particular to that episode, but rather was sparked by some of the symbols we saw during that episode.
I’m going to talk about the plus/minus signs and how they may tie into A/B symbolism and Beth’s return. Also, remember that we’ve seen a lot of Beth-ish symbolism around Alpha and the Whisperers, especially as they seem to be synonymous with wolf symbolism. And it’s been hard to determine exactly how all these things will end up working together. Basically I’m going to make a few possible connections here and do some predictions/conjecture on how it might happen.
Let’s start with the minus and plus signs. Remember I said that this picture reminded me of a minus sign on a battery.
Tumblr media
Often the minus and plus signs on batteries or pertaining to batteries are contained within a circle.
Tumblr media
And of course there are both the Battery Theory and the Lamp Theory that it would fit in well with.
But the minus sign in a circle picture also reminded me of this:
Tumblr media
This is Jadis’s group, the Heapsters, back in S7 when Rick met them for the first time. Looks kinda similar, right? And because this is a specific, bird’s eye shot, it must be specifically, purposely done.
Not exactly the same I’ll admit, but similar. I tried to look up what a circle within a circle or concentric circles mean. There are a thousand possible meanings. But I’m wondering if it’s meant to symbolize a story within a story. Or, more specifically, that Jadis’s group is a small group within a larger one (helicopter people) that will be important. I’ll come back to this.
Well, we couldn’t have known it at the time, but now we know Jadis and her group are tied to the helicopter people, and at least two character (Rick and Heath) have disappeared into that group. And anyone who’s been following my theories lately knows I think Beth and Sherry may be there too.
Tumblr media
So I started thinking about how we saw the plus sign around Morgan in Coda, and a few times after that in S6 and S7. The writers have never bothered to explain what the symbols mean. But we specifically saw those symbols in TWD, rather than Fear. I’ve never noticed that symbol in Fear.
At the risk of stating the obvious, plus and minus are opposites, right? But in terms of batteries, they specifically represent opposite ends. Which got me thinking of the A/B Theory. More than once, they’ve made reference to the A side and B side of something, so this symbolism (battery, plus/minus, A/B) may all be similar, related, or three ways of saying exactly the same thing.
But here’s what I was thinking: if Morgan in TWD, especially in S5, represented the “A” side, or the plus sign, perhaps his arc in FTWD, with the minus sign, represents the “B” side. I’ve also talked before about how at the prison, cell block A was death row. So A could = death. If true, the opposite of that (B) would = life.
We first saw the plus sign in the circle near Morgan, specifically in Coda. So maybe the plus sign/A/death points to Beth’s “death” in Coda.
Tumblr media
If so, the minus sign/B points to seeing her alive again. And that’s what we’re seeing here in Fear, as well as around Jadis and the Heapsters, who are tied to the helicopter group.
See what I mean?
I’m just saying I think these symbols are pointing to things that are good for us. And no, I’m not positive we’ll see Beth in this season of Fear. I just think these story lines will eventually lead to them having a major run-in with the helicopter group (I can see that being the finale of this season) and THAT will lead to Beth.
Okay, next thing this episode got me thinking about:
Tumblr media
They did the whole Flame of Truth in the rabbi’s church, right? I mentioned this briefly in my analysis, but if you’re not familiar with this story in Jewish history, it comes from a famous legend about how a group of people only had enough oil to keep their lamps burning for only one night. But in a miraculous turn of events, the lamps kept burning for 7 nights. It’s considered a miracle and something often told and celebrated around Hanukkah.
So that’s why the rabbi always wanted to keep his lamp burning. It was both so people would see it and he could give them hope, but also part of his Jewish roots and traditions.
But we also saw a lot of things that linked this to Beth. As in Beth = light. There’s what Norman said about Beth being Daryl’s light, as well as plenty of other symbols I pointed out in my analysis.
You could also argue that if Beth = light, and this light must be perpetually burning, we can link that to Beth living and her “I’m not gonna leave you,” line. And of course there’s also the battery connection. (Because batteries kept the light perpetually burning in the episode.)
But more than anything else, the light = hope. It also has to do with depleted resources, because the lamp oil ran out, but the light continued to burn anyway.
Finally, remember that I mentioned the “something they need” theme. It was the title of 7x15. That may not have been the first time we heard it in the show, but it’s the first time we noticed it. But we’ve heard it often enough since then that I think it’s fairly important. I’m sure I haven’t given it enough attention, but that’s mostly because I’ve never been sure how to interpret it.
Well, in this episode, the rabbi told Charlie that perhaps there was something she needed that he had, and that’s why God led her to him. Meanwhile, the most tangible thing that drew her to him was the continuous light of truth.
So I guess all of these things came together for me in a way that might work out, based on what we know so far. Just conjecture, of course, but it makes sense to me.
Tumblr media
We don’t know exactly what the helicopter group is up to, but we do know they’re busy purifying water. Water could well be the resource that will soon be scarce.
(It may also be gasoline. There’s been a big emphasis on how little gas is left in FTWD this season. And also remember that one of the first places we saw Beth-ish symbolism was in 4a at the “hell” gas station.
This is kind of an aside, but it occurred to me that they did emphasize this for the main series as well, though not too much in the show. Before S9 began, the writers and those talking about the show made a point of saying that everyone was riding horses and using wagons more now because of the scarcity of gasoline. So it didn’t figure in a plot in a big way as it has in Fear, but they did go out of their way to mention and emphasize that.
To be fair, obviously people have figured out how to function without gasoline (horses, etc.) so while it’s definitely a valuable resource, it’s not completely essential to human survival. Water, of course, is. So water is more likely to be the resource that becomes scarce, that people will be searching desperately for.)
Not to mention, where did we hear “resources” talked about a lot? At Grady. They talked about limited resources that needed to be paid back, and also talked about people as resources.
Tumblr media
So I was trying to figure out how this whole analogy could apply to Beth, and here’s what I came up with.
If water becomes scarce and people need it, we already know the helicopter group has some operation in place to purify water, so I’m thinking this is a setup for TF (whether Morgan’s group, Daryl’s, or both) to approach the helicopter group because they need water. In the Jewish legend, the resource that is scarce is oil. And per this last episode, it’s obvious that oil (eternal light) = Beth. We also know that water = Beth.
Tumblr media
So I’m thinking the symbolism here points to a water scarcity that will facilitate a meeting between TF and the helicopter people, and that’s when they’ll find out Beth is alive. That her light never actually went out, even though it theoretically should have, and they thought it did.
But what’s that got to do with the Whisperers? This is probably less compelling, but while thinking about how it’s all about hope in dark times, and helping people survive during the darkest crises, it occurred to me that perhaps the reason we’ve seen so much Beth symbolism around Alpha and the Whisperers is that she’ll show up to help win the war against them.
Many people suggested this during S9, so that’s not new. But I was thinking that if, perhaps, the war is going badly (like TF is losing to the Whisperers) and especially if water becomes scarce, Beth could show up to be their hope/light in the darkest place and help them win the war.
If water is scarce to the point where both sides (TF and the Whisperers) are in desperate need of it, having water could help them turn the tide of war and ultimately win.
Oh, and in terms of foreshadowing? Remember that concentric circle we saw with Jadis’s group in 7x10? Well, Rick went to Jadis to trade for resources (guns) in order to fight the war against Negan. It could easily be a foreshadow of a time when TF will go to another, larger group connected to Jadis’s (again, the helicopter people) to get another resource (water?) to fight another war (against the Whisperers). To get “something they need.” Just saying.
Okay, so that’s a lot of conjecture. It assumes a lot of things we can’t possibly know, yet. I could be totally off-base about how this will play out. But these are things that have been knocking around in my head since Sunday. And, in general, this would just make SENSE to me, based on the symbolism we’ve seen.
Of course, as always, we’ll just have to wait and see. Thoughts?

Fear 4x15: Analysis
Okay, who watched Fear last night? I really loved this episode. I totally freaked out about three different times. Let's just dive right in.
**As always, spoilers abound for FTWD 4x15. Don’t read until you’ve watched! You’ve been warned!**
In the opening credits, we saw a car with flashing lights. This is because we had several instances of walkers or people falling onto cars from great heights, making the alarms went off. Just having the car symbol makes me side-eye it, though.
Tumblr media
So, just as we suspected, Alica and Charlie found Strand and John. They had to go looking for some way to get them off the island.
John told Strand that he had symbolically relegated himself to an island before, but that "someone else took me off that island." I thought that was a really cool way to explain it and it definitely parallels to Beth and Daryl. We all know Daryl goes into survival mode intends to emotionally maroon himself on an island. It was Beth who brought him out of that, just as June brought John out of it. Yet another parallel between the two story lines.
Tumblr media
Searching for a boat to help John and Strand, Alicia and Charlie first look at a bathtub. It's one of those things they don't use and has no relevance to the story, so it must be symbolic.
Tumblr media
There haven’t been tons of bathtubs in the show, but there've been a few. The one that first occurred to me was with the governor in 4x06. In the same scene where he gets the backgammon game and sees a wheelchair, he finds a legless walker in a bathtub. A bathtub, by definition, could also be part of the Bathroom/Toilet Paper Theme.
Alicia and Charlie meet up with Martha (Filthy Lady). She tries to kill them, but then passes out from blood loss. They end up taking Al’s truck back from her and use it to go rescue John and Strand. I noticed they did actually find a canoe on top of the car, but didn't use it. So, the symbolism here was very strong.
Tumblr media
They see a bathtub and then a boat, both of which have major connections to water. (Beth = water)
Tumblr media
The other thing that occurred to me is that we saw the boat, and we all know that ocean/boat/sailor stuff is reminiscent of Beth. And right after that, Martha started shooting at Alicia. She didn't hit her, but she hit the car window and the glass broke. (Broken Glass Theme) It reminded me of 5x16 where Sasha fights with FG over the gun and shoots the glass picture. I'm just pointing out that we have an instance of water-related objects, followed by a gunshot that breaks glass.
Eventually, they do manage to rescue Strand and John from the island and reunite with all the others.
Tumblr media
Morgan's group is still stranded at hospital. First off, Jim pees off the side of the building, onto the walkers. He had reasons for doing so, but I couldn't help but be reminded of Daryl peeing in the moonshine shack. And remember, Jim is the one who makes his own homemade alcohol. So, we have a person associated with that peeing, just like there Daryl did.
Morgan's group (sans Jim) decides to go back down to the hospital and look for Al. She got out her own way and has disappeared. They don't find her in this episode. But all the walkers that were clustered at the doors of the elevator are gone. Something drew them away. And why did they not come back when Morgan tapped his stick on the ground? Because the roof had caved in and trapped them all.
Tumblr media
Guys, that is EXACTLY what happened in TWD 4B, when Glenn was looking for Maggie. Remember in that case, they were in a tunnel and the roof caved in, trapping all the walkers. In both cases, we didn't see the actual cave-in, just the aftermath. In both cases, a couple (Glaggie and John/June) reunited directly after.
Tumblr media
Morgan decides he will stay behind and distract the walkers so the group can get away. This whole situation was very much like S1. The rooftop even looked a whole lot like the one they left Merle on. Some people people (Morgan in this case) created a distraction so the others could get out, just like Rick and Glenn created a distraction so that they could rescue the others from the mall in S1.
Morgan ends up throwing a walker onto a car, setting off a blaring alarm to lure walkers away from the hospital’s entrance. That's very much like the car alarm Glenn used in S1 to distract walkers away from the entrance of the mall.
Tumblr media
Now, at this point it's obvious that this hospital is not Grady. Remember we wondered before if the hospital scenes in FTWD could possibly have been shot at the same location as Grady. At this point, it's obvious that is the case. Even if it didn't look the same in the show, I think they would've told us on TTD that it was the same location. They always do that.
They actually named the hospital this episode. It’s called St. Luke's, and we see a Travis County ambulance. I checked and there is more than one St. Luke’s Hospital in Texas, and Travis County is real as well. But at this point, it really doesn't matter. This parallels to Grady are crazy-strong.
Morgan decides to stay on the rooftop with Jim, mostly because the generator is out of juice in the elevators not working. So, he really has no way down because walkers are filling the stairwells. He tells June that “at least, I got you on your way back to John." That struck me as something that could be Beth-ish. Maybe he'll help her on her way back to Daryl and TF.
Tumblr media
I noticed they use the phrase “class A asshole” twice. I wondered if perhaps we could relate that to the A theme. Not only because of the “class A” part, but because remember that during S7, tptb said the A on the back of Daryl’s shirt at the Sanctuary stood for “asshole.” We knew that couldn't be all the A stood for because it wouldn't go with other instances, but obviously they’re repeating the same patterns.
The entire group comes back for Morgan because they need him. He's become their leader. (Which is interesting because I remember a lot of people asking who the new leader would be when Madison died. (“Died.”) People speculated either Alicia or Strand, although neither seem quite up to par. It's obvious now that Morgan has become the leader, rather than one of them. This gives him a lot of parallels to Rick because in S1, Rick was trying to make it back to his family ended up leading a group of people he didn't know. Morgan has now done the exact same thing. And of course, by extension, this gives Morgan parallels to Beth as well.
Here's the part that made me pretty much split water out of my nose. When Team Fear Family comes to rescue Morgan from the hospital, what do they show up in but a FIRE TRUCK!!!
Tumblr media
(ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?)
I mean, we have this hospital, and Morgan is trapped in it (technically on top) and all these different parallels with Grady. And then the group shows up in a fire truck? I seriously choked on my water when I saw that fire truck. I had to go rant to my group about how we don’t have to work for these parallels. They’re practically rubbing our noses in it. You don't get any closer to Grady than hospital with a fire truck in it.
(Yes, I know there were spoilers about this some time ago, but I’d completely forgotten about them and my jaw still dropped when I saw it.)
Interestingly, they leave the fire truck behind and just take Al's truck. So, just like in TWD, the fire truck doesn't go with the group or show up again. We don't know exactly what happened with that fire truck in TWD. Obviously it was left behind at some point too. But keep in mind that they used it to rescue Morgan in this episode. I don't know how or why, but somehow that fire truck had something to do with rescuing Beth.
(P.S. I have more to say concerning this hospital and the generators and how they relate to the Battery Theory, based on a conversation I had with @boltthrutheheart right after watching this episode, but I’m gonna make that it’s own theory later in the week.)
Tumblr media
We saw the Breaking Glass Theme here when Morgan is trying to get down to the fire truck. He jumps down to a different level of the hospital and immediately a walker breaks through some glass and attacks him. I love that John Dorie shot the thing in the head all the way from the ground. That just makes him more freaking awesome than he already is.
Tumblr media
Jim gives his recipe for alcohol to Sarah before sacrificing himself so the group can live. He tells her to put the walkie to her ear so he can tell her that something only she can hear. That, too, is a parallel to S1. Remember that Dr. Jenner whispered something in Rick's ear that no one else heard. We now know it was that they were all infected. The rest of the group didn't learn that until the end of S2. Sarah seemed happy about whatever Jim told her, so I don't think it's a doom-and-gloom message. Even so, the parallel is there.
Tumblr media
Martha gets away. She writes the recipe on Jim's face and takes him as her new pet walker. (Does she strike anyone else as Michonne’s evil twin? Just wondering.)
What I predicted at the beginning of 4B is what exactly what has happened and is happening in terms of the plot of the show. (That it would probably take the entire back half of the season for them to all reunite and get back on the road to Virginia.)
At the end of this episode, Morgan stated that they were find Al (obviously what next week’s finale will be about), and then they will go to Virginia together. So, things are on track as far as I'm concerned. I'm honestly not thinking we’ll probably see Beth next episode. It's possible we might see her as a final cliffhanger sort of thing, but I just don't feel like we’re quite there yet in story. If they meet her, chances it will be on the road back to Virginia. But still, everything we predicted so far for Morgan’s group has happened.
Tumblr media
I’m very happy about that. ;D (Really not saying this to call myself a genius or anything. Just saying that if you read the signs and symbolism, the direction of the show becomes quite obvious.)
To close, just a couple of notes about things that were sent on TTD.
Aaron Stanford (who played Jim) pointed out that Jim had dialogue foreshadowing. Before they went to the hospital, he complained, saying they shouldn't go because they’d become trapped or separated and die. Everything he said came true. They did become trapped, got separated from Al, and he died.
On the one hand, it's sort of karmic justice because he was the one being negative about it, and therefore he was the one who died. That's just literature 101. The point is that they used a dialogue foreshadow, and then it was fulfilled. Remember how many dialogue foreshadows around Beth pointed to her living.
Tumblr media
Jenna Elfman point out something very similar. Talking about Morgan's arc, she said in the first episode of FTWD S4, Morgan ran away from Alexandria and ended up in Texas. Before he left, Rick told Morgan that would he find his way back to people. That eventually he would find people want to be with them again. That happened. In fact, that's what Morgan's entire arc has been about in Fear. But again, my point is that dialogue foreshadows happen and then are fulfilled on the show. Beth’s will be too.
Aaron Stanford also mentioned Cartman from South Park. I won’t go into this too much, but it’s not the first South Park reference people outside the show have made. It’s not even the first one connected with Beth. You can read the other post I did about this HERE and make up your own mind.
So, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode of Fear. Anything catch anything I missed?

Characters from the tv show suddenly adopting traits/story arcs, even personalities of a different comic character confuses me. If you’re a Comic Michonne fan - who do you stan on the TV??? TV Michonne or TV Carol?! Weird way to develop your television show if you ask me. It’s hard to follow or relate to anything!
Hey. I made a long. I hope this helps. It’s confusing. It’s also that I go with the flow and flip flop my speculations too.
I’m mostly or was a fan of the show. I read the comics around when s6 ended. The show is adapted from the comics. It’s always a bit different from the comics. Kirkman likes that it’s a bit different. Like Daryl is an original character. There’s also some comic plots that were changed or comic events happening earlier or later in an arc. Like Shane died at Hershel’s farm in s2 but not in s1 when that’s like when comic-Shane would’ve died.
So I just see the comics as original story and tv show as it’s own story with some comic similarities. I think it’s fun to speculate what will happen in the show based on the comics because the comics are ahead and bit different. The comics are like a blueprint for the show. Like we know s9 will have a time jump and whisperers will be introduced…and heads on pikes.  It is hard to speculate on characters and what they will do. The comics had Andrea for a long time and also like idk 6 core characters. The show has a huge cast of characters, no Andrea but parts go to some other characters (Sasha, Carol, Michonne). Plus original characters like Daryl, Sasha, Tara. Sometimes the show’s stories/characters are better than comics and sometimes not.
But I do think idk since s6, the writers are making their tv characters based on comic characters/plots too wacky. (s3 was so different than the comics too) The characters are not evolving naturally. Plots that don’t make sense, imo. Like ehh Rick with Jessie. It didn’t flow right like the comics did. Rick was already bonded closely with Michonne. They just want the chop scene. Carol going to the Kingdom in s7 and now, I’m okay with it but I hate that she’s not part of the main storyline or never interacts with team family. I’m guessing they want to introduce Kingdom and Zeke(who knows?) on the head on pikes like what happened with comic-Michonne. And imo, they never really make tv-Carl angsty like comic-Carl. Some argued about Michonne just being a love interest, but she’s also is like a mother and co-lead like comic-Andrea.  And now since s8, the show is really different than the comics. We will not have Rick and Carl in the show. The show is gonna be more like a spinoff show.
So for me to speculate the show and comics, I speculate on how the story is going with the characters. So far I think Carol is taking a lot on comic-Michonne.  Daryl is pretty similar to comic-Dwight. I think Michonne and Daryl will be more like comic-Rick in s9. Idk s9 is gonna be harder to speculate the characters’ doings based on the comics. (I mean there’s a s9 msf death spoiler, that was so not from comics.) Also, even though it’s “Carol is like comic-Michonne” it doesn’t mean Carol is comic-Michonne. Carol’s story isn’t exactly the same way as comic-Michonne’s. Even Michonne’s story isn’t the same as comic-Michonne. (lost her son, Andre. Not two daughters.) Carol is Carol. Both comics and show have their own stories and are not finished.
I take the comics and tv show as two different stories. I love comic-Michonne in the comics. I stan mostly Carol in the show and love Michonne too. I stan Carol before I read the comics. I think it’s more like I like these different storylines. I guess Carol and Michonne(s) are similar and I guess that’s why I like them all. I started seeing Carol taking comic-Michonne parts or being as one of the main characters in the show is when Carol have this bond with Rick, the banishment, Carol saving team family, and keeping a gun in ASZ with Rick. I feel like she was Rick’s #3 person or wherever the number on the list like on the comics, MIchonne is Rick’s bff/#3(?). Also she had close relationships with Tyreese, Morgan, and Zeke.. I do not think Carol is like comic-Michonne when she’s with Zeke now. I think that’s a weird way for anyone to say that. It’s weird..I guess writers eventually went like yeah Carol take comic-Michonne’s parts and some original parts. And imo, then they went weird with it and make her be with Zeke in s9. (Imo, if they want to do it naturally, why not have Carol romance with him in s8 like the time when comic-Michonne did?) Tv-Michonne is more like comic-Andrea right now. Andrea died in s3 ..but even in s3, tv-Michonne was really bonded and had more chemistry with Rick and had comic-Michonne’s parts too. Though she didn’t romance with Tyreese and she was like more open up by being with the Grimes than comic-Michonne (she’s angstier…sadder..she misses her daughters).
So to speculate on Carol and Michonne on s9, it’s really hard because there’s so many changes like with Rick and Carl being gone and Maggie maybe being gone.  Carol will be like comic-Michonne but happier and not on a boat. But Zeke will be dead? Idk. Tv-Michonne is like comic-Andrea but Rick will depart or die, so will she go on a boat, be like comic-Rick, or have original storyline.  I also don’t know if Danai will do s10 too. There’s also an article from Danai that she would like the storyline of Michonne’s child being found,…if that happens. (Comic Michonne found one of her daughters, Elodie at Commonwealth.)
Idk i guess it’s all about interpretation and speculating. I’m already tired of weird writings and Idc about s9/TWD show anymore. Since there’s no Grimes boys in the show. I’m wondering how the story will go by reading spoilers.

s9 filming spoilers and speculations..... TWD RANTS
Timejump-capital /twd parade pics and Caryl-the skybound thing, & other-richonne. (this post is meh and confusing)
*twd spoilers, comic spoilers, anti C/E
k so writing this long weird speculation and thoughts-post. I wanna like move on from the show. Like as usual it’s on hiatus ykno? But the s8 finale messed me up so much. And I wonder a lot about Carol and the ships. Unanswered questions. I guess I’m saying I’m gonna rant a lot...or I go big in this post.
Now we’re getting filming spoilers. bits and pieces but s9 premiere is a big deal like because of the time jump. The time jump changes the story a lot right? So... just from spoilery things, I realized, it’s hitting me a lot that it’s so 50/50 on me for if I still like the show or not (with timejump, ships, different showrunner/writings, and who knows how TWD ends).
I really don’t like how 50/50 that is. So shock value way? Anyways, this hiatus I guess is gonna be a really big roller coaster ride. :\ I feel more doubtful than hopeful about s9. ....I just want Carol to be in character (the way i see it) and I want Carol (anyone) to interact with team family more. Idk if I can trust the writers during the hiatus with some bits of spoilers because some arcs start off frustrating and end well. It’s like I also have to wait till they film the finale to know if I wanna watch s9. or it’s like I wait till s10 for an arc to end. Idk I’m bummed that it’s at that point for me to decide to quit or not. sigh stories.
Yeah so this reminds me of s8, where the biggest change to the show happened with Carl’s death for me and the fandom. So I(and like most people too apparently...show is still going) keep watching TWD because Carl’s death doesn’t bother me that much, I feel the writing is still fine, and I see it as Rick’s show. So ..idk what im saying. I just think if they screw up Carol’s character and her interactions, then I feel it’s pointless to keep watching the show. I want charactery bonds, interesting arcs, and parallels. I know TWD can still be fine, but s8′s bad finale ep made me doubtful on the writing (or editing...there were good deleted scenes in s8 finale).
Time jump
Wow those pics of the cast at the capital and on horses. “twd parade” The pics also tells a lot or so what 9x01 will be like/time jump. It’s overwhelming. It got me excited and then I worry the show will suck and mess up my faves.
The time jump in 9x01 looked like not like Carl’s dream/5 years(?) where Rick had a cane, white hair, 6 yo Judy, and Negan gardening with TF. This time jump in s9 so far looked like one year went by. Also looked like the characters got one thing changed on them. Rick-short hair, Carol-hat, Jesus-manbun, etc.so it’s like it’s not that much of a time jump.
Oh man, I can’t help it but I want to compare TWD and The 100. (They’re different ofc, one’s pace is fast and more violent/survival-like. It’s also like it’s ok to watch more than one show even tho one is better or whatever. It’s frustrating tho T100 have way more interactions/girl power.) Both current survival-shows. Right now, The 100 just had a six year time jump(I think) and TWD in s9 there will be a time jump too. So The 100′s current season, I really liked how they did set up the time jump and informing us how the characters are doing and see the changes in them and their looks. Even their previous season, there was a good understanding foreshadowing to the time jump plot. ...TWD didn’t, I mean Idk why, it’s like easy writing they should’ve done..to keep fans interested to what’s next on the show. I noticed in The 100, is that there were flashbacks and bottled/centered episodes. It’s also quick but partly because The 100 have a short season too and the writers want to focus on the upcoming different plot.
Anyways, so now that I think it’s been like a year later in TWD story. My theories are like everywhere and changed. I’m also like being an annoying comic fan..wants to be exact way but it’s a show and they can remix stuff. Whatever, we all want good stories! It’s kinda following the comics like usual. ok. Time jump and whisperers are coming. Idk why, I’m really excited for ‘old man Rick’ hair cut and horses, when I’m like wtf Rick’s curls tho. lol  Also just..9 seasons...and do I still like the show and will I like what’s next based on comics? (I actually figured AOW in s7-8 would be boring or come off different in the show. It’s all battle scenes and comics goes quicker..Idk I figured it would be boring but I think the war story on show and comics did alright. It wasn’t like a boring action movie that I see most of the time with action movies :P So I think this arc in s9 people will like this. More charactery stuff, well based from the comics. But we don’t have Carl and Maggie(for certain)?... Yeah usual tv flaws.)
So, I think it’s just one year later and that’s it. Also, I don’t mind seeing flashbacks and bottle episodes, as long it’s done well and entertaining. I think in s9 bottle episodes are needed.
kids
So since I think it’s one year later, then we probably get the same Judith girl in s8, as 3 yo?, Hershel Jr as -months old, and I don’t think there will be a Richonne-baby...unless Michonne got pregnant right after the war and Hershel Jr and Richonne-baby are about the same age.
Skybound mailbag/Caryl/ E&Z
I read some speculations and from C/E shippers, just to get more info on Carol. (I gotta stop that. I’ll know about Carol when I do and they’re really anti-Caryl. It’s annoying. ugh ship wars.) I realized from the spoilery pics and speculations, I just don’t want Carol with anyone or C/E in s9/s9A. I just want to know what’s up with Carol again. Unless Carol being with E is a very minor thing. Like in The 100 show where two times fans suddenly learn Bellamy has a gf. There was a time jump and the relationship’s build up and being canon was all offscreen. The relationship didn’t last or some other thing important was gonna happen. I just want to know what’s Carol’s thinking and feeling. Idk I just feel if C/E happens,I just feel like Idk Carol anymore. :\ Idk what Caryl is anymore. They’re best friends (crushes) right...and still is? I really don’t like in s8 finale where Carol didn’t talk to any TF member/Daryl about why she wants to stay at Kingdom. Just any moment to see TF knows too. Also, Idk if Daryl is staying at ASZ or Hilltop and does Rick knows Daryl doesn’t agree with his decision on Negan.
(lil post on twdzone. carol/and show stuff)
‘If C/E happens like a - a surprise ship in s9. I find it bad writing because they didn't set it up in s8 or should add more romantic tone in it and obviously put a C/E moment in the finale. But they didn't. So..bad writing. Or just idk maybe it's for plot reasons (E’s death). Maybe there will be a love triangle? It makes Carol out of character or strange for me. Who/What does Carol care about and why? Idk.
It’s also something that TWD has to do too...from s8 finale and time jump/season premiere it means s9 premier ep gotta be a very well written episode to explain to everything and well reasons. But man...the s8 finale was so wacky and frustrating. It made me lose hope on the writers. I did like s8B but wow finale wtf. And finale is important ep of the seasons..and also it was before the big time jump. sigh. //It reminds me something, it’s kind of TWD’s style or Gimple’s, that premieres are more important than finales. So I hope s9 premiere is good. So yeah if Caryl is just gonna be friends and also just gonna like nod at each other like they don't have that special (continuity) bond anymore. Then that show is over for me. It's also not Caryl’s connections too, I miss Carol’s connections with Team family so much! OMG just looking at Carol and Rick edits, I just sigh.. I know some don't like their relationship. But I like theirs and they got that history, interesting dynamic. I don't wanna see Carol and Rick like they're just acquaintances now. (um like remember their history and trying to save Sophia. etc.) I want Carol or anyone to interact and be team family. The show gotta focus on their main characters and interact them. Too many side characters...too many separations.’
Other
Once I thought about this idea, I’m like gaaah I really hope TWD does this. I really want and hope Rick have these moments to remember Carl by and to do it every season. I really like this idea I have where Rick could write a letter to Carl or talk to Carl’s grave in every season premier/finale. It’s something that merge the old TWD and the new TWD story...even though it’s Rick’s show, it’s still a father and son show.
Richonne!
I have some speculations and thoughts. I just wanna say that I hope Richonne in s9 is more interesting than comic R&A in the comics in the point of the story. Just be like on the show, power couple and all. I really like how in s8 finale, they were like co-leaders. Together. Idk I’m curious how Richonne will go in s9 and on. It’s seems real different than in the comics/R&A are doing.
So, in the comics, Andrea was like focusing on protecting Carl and co-leading etc. and then she dies at the end of Whisperer war. I find her death and end of her journey boring and disappointing. So Idk, I hope Michonne’s journey is interesting and I have no clue how this comic-Michonne and/or Andrea remix thing works out since Carol is using comic-Michonne’s too. %) Anyways, so I don’t think Michonne will die like comic-Andrea because tv-Carl got the death. After the Andrea’s death, Rick bonded and grieved with Mikey (Carl’s friend) while Carl is at Hilltop adulting. From the comics, I felt like Kirkman wished he had Rick and Andrea to have a child together but he didn’t so he got Mikey more into the story and w/Rick. So I’m like maybe we will get a Richonne-baby? But, then I also thought maybe Judith is like comic-Mikey. Grimes 2.0 grieving and missing Carl. So yeah.. I’m suspecting Richonne won’t have child together or at least in s9. From the twd parade pics, Idk, I don’t think there will be a baby. I really hope they do someday though.
Another thing is, I really want Judith to call Michonne “Mom” and Rick to point out to people that Michonne is his wife.
So yeah, roller coaster.

-why i didn’t quit before / team family /s9-caryl
-big twd filming spoilers, 9x05?
-carick
-au
My thoughts so far.  vvv
I noticed some fans quit TWD early on like in s6 and they mentioned the flaws. They have good points and all. I wondered why I kept watching TWD. I think because it’s just one of the cool shows to watch on Sundays, and just loving the TF. I also think if I’m more critical of the show, I would probably quit the show around s3 or s6 too. Idk if it’s comic story way that made people lose interest or it’s the writing. Like a lot people miss the team family being really close and trying to survive..or on the road and not staying in one place. These comments are like what the comic-fans say too about the comics. So idk. Like it’s just how TWD story goes. Building up to a new world ..arc. (like Falling Skies show?) So, my point is that I didn’t quit back then because I just like the show and I was also was like hoping the show could turn around. I liked s6B. I find it interesting that Carol went to Kingdom and dealing with her issues. Richonne happend and Negan was introduced. (big character in comics) I was curious how it will go and I was curious what Carl will do. I know s7 and s8, the fandom didn’t like those seasons-AOW arc. I kinda don’t like it either. It was so dragged out and less TF. But I still like the show. I still feel hopeful that it will go better.
When Carl died (and he wasn’t like comic-Carl-y, imo like I hoped for) that was hard, but I was like okay so then it’s Rick’s show and I guess Michonne will live longer. AOW ended in s8. S8B was entertaining to me, imo. But I hated the finale and what they did with Carol. The finale should have been like or even better than the s2 finale and tease us the f*** with what will happen and excite us. (remember Michonne first appearance and prison. s3 also had a time jump) Then we got a new showrunner and news about LC and with the finale being so blah & hard to predict, I was like uhh it’s 50/50 chance of the show being better than before. Maybe more Team Family moments? I was still hopeful. We got those spoiler pics of TWD cast like they’re in a parade and them going to the “museum.” I got so excited again and hopeful but a bit conscious about it because Idk what s9 was. Then suddenly we got the AL news of him leaving ( and then LC). I just felt crushed. We lost Carl and now we’re losing Rick, the two big protagonists of the show. That’s just quick and weird. Also totally seems pointless for the show to keep going, imo. (but hey at least Rick got like 2 years of bliss/timejump). I know he wanted to leave some day (duh actors arnt robots)  but I wasn’t expecting how it goes like that and it’s just not what I want. I wanted this popular show to end where they wanted it to end. Like Lost, Scandal, Fringe, GoT, etc. But no...show business..life happens or whatever, AMC wants more money. So yeah I lost hope on the show - I quit with this show. So this is why I kept going till s9, I guess. It’s whatever whenever is enough for you. Now I look back on it, it’s really around s5-6 when we feel like TWD is Team Family like and good or fun to watch. There’s some things I liked about TWD that other shows don’t have. Like this slow pace..that feels realistic sometimes, the music, and cast. But seeing other shows, I’m like wow ..we know who are the main characters are and they interact a lot throughout the series. It’s sad. I miss TF.
So yeah I just take s9 as an AU story where Rick dies. -_- I hope Caryl goes canon but well the show is like done to me. So Idk. I would watch or care..if Caryl goes canon and everything else is interesting and TF being close again. Like it’s gonna be Carol and Daryl ..Michonne? and rest are Negan, Aaron, Rosita, Eugene and Tara. meh. It’s hard what do with this. In time I know. So far, s9 just sucks. C/E is gonna be or is canon. I just like siiiigh. I wish Carol isn’t with anyone in s9. I want to know who is Carol in the future and have her with TF again. But it’s not that. Carol with Zeke for some reason. Idk  why tease Caryl in s8 and not make C/E canon in s8???? Maybe Carol is just to prop Zeke story and comic death in s9??? That’s another thing. There’s this original TWD show story and characters’ arcs and comic book remixes. I think what we want is balance of those two. But lately s7 and on it’s all super plot-y or super comic book-plot-y. So maybe Zeke dies and then Carol helps Daryl to start the Whisperer war and then ..then what? Will we actually get more TF moments? If Caryl does become canon, will their romance be well written and interesting? (Shipping a non-canon ship to a canon ship changes the shipdom/fandom. People lose interest.)
---filming spoilers and spec in s9
So ep 5 or so, s9 filming spoilers, it’s obvious Rick dies. So right there the show isn’t gonna do a cool happy ending for Rick and the Grimes. No Grimes family off to a boat or Commonwealth. Now, I know. :( Poor Michonne. (writers totally screwed up her character-journey)
Based on spoilers, there’s a white horse (symbolism), that script paper.., Shane appearances. So yeah there’s some over the top death scene happening. Idc in some ways, because this is all AU to me. (twdspoilers4theprivileged tumblr) Based from the script paper spoiler/rumor, I noticed that Carol is there..actually the main five characters are there. It’s nice ..but once again it’s when something major happens. It seems like Rick takes the other parts of comic-Andrea’s death. He dies by trying to kill all the walkers in the herd ...to save his people(?) like Andrea did. It also seem traumatic too, our main characters are watching it as it goes. Like damn ..who wanna see that  super sad and depressing death of a character in this ep. Like sure ..Rick deserve this kind of death scene and how important and special he is. But ...it’s not a series finale and writers will forget about this in a couple episodes later with Daryl dealing with Negan and Whisperers, I guess. *Also I guess Zeke wasn’t there..and others. So it’s like Zeke isn’t or still not important in the show. So ..maybe he will die from Alpha in msf or finale in s9. I just think if Zeke will be a main character, then he gotta hang out with Daryl  and others,a lot. (so far he’s in ep1. so far Carol in ep 1 and 5..) Idk what Maggie will do / LC’s 6 episodes. There’s some play with time. Maybe Maggie dies in msf?
Yeah Carol so far is in ep 1 and 5. I don’t think she interacts with Rick in s9. I find it important for her to interact with him. It tells me writers remember their bond, care about the character Carol, and what they do with TF. So far, it’s seems like they don’t. This is the part that really upsets me..it’s something also that I was really hoping for in s9 and something to see if it will happen-then the rest s9 will go fine. I love Carick so ..yeah I don’t think there’s good Carick moments in s9 and I think Carol will only react about Rick’s death. Writers ..again don’t care or too lazy to deal with TF moments and Carol and her bonds with other characters. So, it’s like if writers can’t do Carick scenes so then s9/new showrunner doesn’t matter to me anymore. It’s over. Those Carick hopes or Carol hopes were all before AL news, btw. That s8 finale made me doubt.
I might accept TWD s9 and Rick’s death, if like the first 6 episodes or so was treated like a series finale and it was something writers/Gimple have in mind for a long time and that they wanted Rick to die in ‘series finale’. And then the rest be like a spin-off and plus being more character-y..good writing. But  eh. We still see characters dealing with his death and other plots going on. It just won’t work, I guess. But right now, I’m like it’s all AU, idc. TF are close and Grimes family lives on.
So, now that im like ‘whatever’ with the show or try to.., i wanna point out the flaws more lately. But it’s stuff we already know. It’s really crazy to watch TWD s8 and then watch the recent season (s5) of The 100 and how much The 100 flows better, character’s arcs goes naturally well or balanced. It’s not too (comic)plotty. And ofc, there’s girls power, and character interactions. Mains still interact. That stuff that I like and interested in.  I know they’re different shows. I think TWD is probably more like Falling Skies with how the story goes but it’s not really charactery..in story right now.
...Let’s do AU fanarts.

twd thoughts and on 8x09. (carl fans, dont read this.)
“Make it real” /premise
-twd spoilers and twd comic spoilers.
me as a fan, im just like in the middle of being faithful of the show rn and being a passionate fan who quits. idk yet. but i will someday. that’s how being a fan of anything happens.
i know it’s all unpopular opinion but the way the writers did it, Carl’s death does make sense storywise, and it’s like very moving in what writers were thinking.....with the future, Henry, and Carl. And Negan.
ok, Carl’s ‘future’ dream I think is what comic-Rick had thought about during AOWar-rebuilding ASZ better than before, and why he didn’t kill Negan (because that’s uncivilized). I really liked that part and it’s interesting how the TV writers took that and made it really special like. Carl, wow a what young man and a hero.
And it was during AOW and making it some new premise for TWD/Rick to make Carl’s dream real and setting it up for “The New Beginning”. I think that’s a good premise or for me, imo.  I noticed Skybound ...were also thinking Carl took comic-Andrea’s death. I think so too and I also think TWD show did the’ comic-Andrea’s death’ better. Well because I feel there was meaning and something that forwards to the story. In the comics during whisperer war, comic-Andrea died but I felt like nothing special happened afterwards, storywise. But it’s probably too soon to say because it’s very recent in the comics and it’s not done. ( i just realized Carl died like tv Andrea and comic Andrea. He even mentioned prison time-s3 and how they went back to ‘living’ in s4)
So it’s like TWD show writers wanted that comic-Andrea death to happen, and Gimple thought it would fit with Carl and during AOW. Well Gimple said he wanted something to make (more?) sense to have Rick change his mind and not kill Negan and prisoned him (and then Negan’s redemption. I’m guessing because of Carl’s death). I liked that it’s during AOW because it’s after the war, it’s the “New Beginning” and we see a lot of changes, goodness, and success kind of thing.
I know that Carl is very important to the story and it was like he died for Negan to live (and Michonne?) kind of thing. Like that’s dumb writing, short term plan-writing...why do the writers want to do the comic-Andrea’s death anyway? Or why not have Father Gabe or any moral compass character to die in 8x09. But I think the show can still work, IMO and that it doesn’t seem to be like destroying the show completely or disrespecting the show and character. (like omg twd fandom is so lucky and stuff. I know I have unpopular opinion but fans that give up ..like u guys are lucky in a way that you’re not alone and the media agrees. k. As a Neal fan in OUAT ..it was so shitty on how they did it and the majority didnt care. I guess it depends on a fan and any situation. Like with Star Wars TLJ-that I feel mad on what they did. But I’m still faithful to TWD so far.) But, IMO, I also feel that TWD show still works for me because it had two premises but one premise-Rick’s show is that is more where we are at and he’s still the main character. In the comics, Carl isnt a leader yet. The show’s ending soon sorta so..it’s all Rick’s show. I think even if Carl still lives in the show, I think it’s still Rick’s show just because how long the show is and I think soon the show will end. (Cast leaving, BTS drama stuff).
However with the whole death is like why did happened? sigh. it’s also like why the tv writers care about comic-Andrea’s death ..to add it. Idk. But Gimple wanted a good reason to add in the story of Negan not dying but prisoned and perhaps anything that grieving sad comic-Rick will make sense and to adapt from comics be about tv-Carl for tv-Rick (instead of tv-Michonne?). Well I just like the TV version better it makes it the war and sadness, more deserved when we see the “The New Beginning.” Comic-Andrea’s death didn’t change ..much storywise. idk.
Idk if it’s correct but Kirkman didn’t plan to do the time-jump at first. He wanted to show how ASZ and other communities rebuild and everyone being happy. But, Michonne is sad and that kind of story is like long and not dramatic ...so he just went for a timejump. (Michonne Telltale game). I guess I’m saying the tv show made the timejump mean something and more special like.
Another thing about how the show is like not ruined completely for me is because they respected Carl (hero of ASZ) and ..I think of the premise. I think it’s about Rick. It’s interesting so far imo that we see a plot of a father losing everything. (rare plot) I think the old premise works well with the new one. At first Rick wants to save his son, and now he’s making Carl’s dream real and be a better man for Carl.
Yeah i know it’s still sucky. Like why does the show keep killing major characters? idk. So if the show keeps sucking and all, I would just think TWD ended in s7 finale. S9 is gonna crazy. Huge change again. Kang as showrunner & Gimple chief..maybe she changes things up for the better, same, or worse. Idk maybe we’ll have a small main cast and stick with them like most shows do. Better dialouge and more interactions from our faves/ladies. idk.
Anyways, I still think the writing is done well or s4-8- as usual. (They can always be improved.) I really like how Carl’s death was like uplifting..hopeful like. But, yeah I’m still like why Carl? He’s the future the heart of the show..but ok..it’s Rick’s show.
sigh. I was confused why have the Kingdom group plot but OMG the ending. Wow idk what you call it. Parallels/contrasts between what Carl said about living and doing what’s right, with clips of Morgan going crazy to protect a/for a kid, to Henry doing what Carl was like in s3 in, killing Gavin. I’m wondering what will happen to Henry. Will he be featured more and have the ‘psycho killer’ comic-Carl parts or is he a character that pushes Morgan to be in FTWD(comic Michonne pirate arc, I think). Idk Henry got potential for future plots. If Henry becomes one of the recurring characters, he could be like “Carl 2.0″ but I mean he got that comic-Carl pyscho parts that I think tv-Carl doesn’t really have..he’s more like a better man ..more compassionate. idk. Ofc, we don’t care as much for Henry but, I think Carol and Henry might have some future plot later on.(like Michonne and Elodie?) idk. I miss Carick... Carol with Team family.

interesting post and comments.  TNB arc may make the show interesting again for some fans. I am interested in after the timejump but who knows if different medium works well or not and how the writers do it. Plus other BTS changes too. so idk. I just wanna see everyone what they are like and they look like after the timejump.  Also, this reminds me how ..well some annoying parts of the show may still continue..because of what Kirkman wrote and stuff. Like I think there’s more main characters separated far apart. etc.
uh basically, I think we just want to know what’s the endgame and feel sure when the show ends. Right now I feel like it’s hard to be faithful and excited about the show when the show is old, cast going away, BTS drama, and we don’t know the ending .. or what kind of ending. Story ending naturally or when AMC ends it with Negan and Daryl show. sigh.

speculating on the future of new TWD
I haven’t really thought of what’s next after Carl’s death ..or s9. I’m like in denial or actually I just want to see how s8B goes first, and then decide and wonder. (winter hiatus ugh so much to wonder and go crazy) I guess most people are doing that or they quit now. Well I did some thinking anyways, since I keep seeing people asking ‘what about comic-Carl’s arcs?’ and not what’s the premise now?-well maybe they are asking that.
I also speculate on other characters and my ships. my head is going crazy.
*comic spoilers! *tv spoilers!
- check out my tag #*twd s8 spoilers or #*twd for more of my thoughts.
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
Anyways, so I just think anyone can take (after the time-jump) comic-Carl’s multiple plots, and the show goes like as usual-adapting and some remixing from the comics. The show have done it already with comic-Andrea(one of the big characters). So, Daryl, Enid,Henry, Judith could take some comic-Carl’s plots???
There’s that premise of the show, ‘father and son’ thing and seeing ‘son becoming a leader’. If the show really wants to keep continuing that same premise of ‘father and son’, then it’s like Rick and Judith playing that way, and some other arcs. I kinda wonder about Henry(kingdomer) and Carol as the mother and son trope thing. It could be Rick as father and Henry as the son/future leader and they both be that way back and forth in the story. But, that seems confusing, outdated, and well he’s not Carl.
So, I’m hoping ep 9, the writers will say what’s the new premise or something that would make sense of when looking back at TWD as a whole. Merging both premises. (I know people have different reasons for watching. Some don’t care of the premise or casual watchers, or don’t care to look at the big picture but just to keep going forward in the story.) Um, I’m hoping to see Carl telling his dad to thank him for raising him and ... Oh I’ve seen some quotes from Riggs saying that Rick will follow Carl’s lead, his hopes. I think Rick will honor Carl. So, then the premise is changed and explained. I hope it makes sense and done right ..to me in ep 9 and on. Also, it reinforce that TWD show is always about Rick and will always be. Not like the comics, where it will be about Carl’s story. If the writers didn’t explain the new premise well and not makes sense for me, maybe I would lose interest in the show or so. I probably lose more trust on the writers (which is bad thing to feel that way). Idk just my opinion and I liked that they showed Carl as a hero in ep 8. There’s no right answer to it. (ofc also want the show to end it on the writer’s terms and not unexpectedly cancelled etc.)
The death of Carl really changes the story and really diverted from the comic’s story. Like Idk even know what Carol, Daryl, Tara, and Morgan and others will do. Even Enid too. It’s harder to speculate now. These characters that are not from the comics or living longer than the comic counterpart. There’s now more options that one of those characters could take comic-Carl’s plot and stuff. This also give opportunities for the writers to do original stories too like before but now more than usual. (Grady hosp., the scavengers, oceanside?)
-Caryl. Thinking of the worst, I really hope Daryl doesn’t take comic-Carl’s part of meeting (adult) Lydia and starting that relationship. That’s would suck and it’s not the same in the comics as in that it’s comic-Carl’s first love. What about Enid, who is Carl’s first gf and adapting from comic-Sophia. It’s all confusing. So far, imo, Lydia isn’t that important in that plot. It’s the part of introducing the Whisperers and learning about them ..from Lydia. So TWD could not make her a love interest or just have someone who informs us and the team family. So, I hope they don’t pair Daryl with Lydia. I’m hoping for Caryl to happen soon or canon off screen after the time-jump. This Caryl thing is hard. I love this pairing, still feel that they’re still Caryl~. But I really don’t know what’s next based on the comics and we wait a long time and nothing more happens with their relationship. I want confirmation of what they are. idk maybe they be canon at the end of the series sigh.
-Speculating on Daryl, I can kinda see him being like comic-Dwight like what they did in s7. I kinda see some plots from comic-Carl (wanting to kill Negan), ..comic-Michonne ..in the way of leaving Rick/ASZ. I don’t know.
-I really don’t know what’s next for Carol. I do think the writers are foreshadowing Ezekiel’s death. So, if she starts a romance with him, it’s sad because he’s gonna die anyways and she’ll be sad again. Based on the foreshadowing, I think Ezekiel will die in s9. She’s been following comic-Michonne. But, oh boy since Carl died, I feel that changes Carol and Michonne’s arcs. Well, with speculating on the comics that the writers adapt and remix from. I know tv writers can change it up anytime. It kinda makes me think Michonne will go back to comic-Michonne’s plots.
-I’m kinda thinking of Richonne and I’m like OMG there’s so much heavy stories potential for Richonne. It’s not just Richonne but also just Rick and just Michonne. We already saw some glimpse of Michonne’s PTSD, losing two sons, moment when she slaughtered the savior guy.  So, I think Richonne will live till the end of the show. Richonne are like the leading characters of the show. “Rick’s show” But it’s like close to being “Richonne’s show” because they’re both are honoring Carl’s hopes. They’re Carl’s parents. This is so different from the comics. Comic-Rick and Andrea didn’t deal with this situation during AOW. So, whatever Richonne will do in s8B will be original. And in s9, I think will be still original or their dynamic really is different than comic-R&A.
-I also think the writers thought ”to kill off Carl or Michonne die based on comic-Andrea”, and they chose Michonne to live. Or, other TV/business reasons. I think that is based on comic-Andrea.  I would really hate if Rick will lose Carl and Michonne after the Whisperer War.
IF, the show lasts that long and writers thought Rick needed to have something in common with Negan-losing a wife(I think). I don’t like this idea. I read the comics and I still don’t know what’s the point of comic-Andrea’s death yet. Losing Carl already impacted Rick, so losing Michonne later on..just makes it’s so hard on Rick. Is comic-Andrea’s death is to kill off comic-Rick later on? But he’s not losing his mind and he still has comic-Carl and Mikey(kinda adopted son) right now. So, I think Carl is based on comic-Andrea’s death and that it also starts up Negan’s redemption and I think that the writers wanted to do that early in AOW and not WW. So, no need to kill Michonne, imo. The writers said they’re bridging the gap or hole for why Rick wants Negan to live in prison cell (Carl’s hope) and not be killed off. I guess I’m also saying that I think the writers are thinking that comic-Andrea’s death relates to Negan’s redemption. (in the comics, I think Negan’s redemption was done well, imo. I hope tv version can show it well too.*maggie) I guess I’m also saying that Negan is big character too in the story. He is in the comics and that’s how it is...so if anyone hates Negan..stop watching it then, I guess. Negan is like one of the main characters and impacts the story a lot during this time in the show and still is in the comics. Idk it depends on how long the show lasts and what the writers will do, but I think Negan is gonna be important in the story. So I guess writers thought killing Carl will start up the new premise of the show and set up the redemption arc for Negan, and Michonne lives on.
So there’s a lot of changes and it’s all up in the air. It just depends if I still trust the writers or still the show. I do think s8B and s9 & on is gonna be like a new show.  “Rick’s show”
Here’s an article to read of the show and AL.

Daryl = Fire, Beth = Water
Morning Everybody! So with only a couple of days to go before the S8 Premiere (I'm totally staying cool over here.)
Tumblr media
So the amazing @wdway has done it again. She came up with such an amazing insight this last week. In many ways, it's super-obvious and I don't know why no one has realized it before. But she's just a genius that way.
So we were talking about some of the S8 promo pics. They're the ones that have many of the characters in side profile and there are embers blowing around them.
Tumblr media
I'm sure many people have tried to relate these to Beth both because we saw fire around her and Daryl in Still and because of Norman's famous analogy about her being Daryl's flame that burnt out.
I thought the same. Then @wdway said something really profound. She said, "I think Beth's symbol is actually more water than fire."
That makes so much sense! We've always equated Beth with fire because of Still. I think it was a fairly good assumption given…everything. But it was also kind of wrong.
Think of it this way. While both Beth and Daryl were working through emotional issues at the moonshine shack, and it WAS her idea to burn it down (another reason we equated her with the fire), the burning down of the shack was more about Daryl than it was about Beth. HE was the one who grew up in a place like that, not her. And they started the fire right after they talked about him staying who he is, not who he was. Getting away from his horrible past.
Tumblr media
Since then, we've seen Daryl equated with fire a lot. And I think each time, it represents the same thing it represented in Still: him burning down his problems and leaving them behind so he can move forward.
Examples of Why Daryl = Fire:
He blew up the saviors in 6x09
He set the lake afire in Alexandria to get rid of the walker horde. Both of those were physical obstacles rather than emotional, but still. Daryl burnt them down.
We can even trace this to his childhood. As he told Carl in season 3 (just before finding Carol who was presumed dead, I might add) his mother died in a house fire in which she kinda burned herself down. She was consumed in it when Daryl was a small child.
Even the matches Sherry left him to escape the Sanctuary make more sense in light of this. Obviously tptb didn't want him to burn down the Sanctuary at that point in the story. They have other plans for it. But they still symbolically showed him using fire to move forward and work through his problems. (The imprisonment of the Sanctuary, in that case.)
Then there's the ashes. Ashes are what's left after the fire has burnt. Ashes are one of the most pure substances on earth because they've just been purified with fire. They're also the substance the phoenix rises from. Remember Daryl's, "we ain't ashes." That was before he lost Beth. Before he endured his trial-by-fire, as it were.
Tumblr media
Now, understand I’m not saying that Beth won't use fire to…you know…escape places. I totally think she will. But thus far, we've seen Daryl equated with fire far more than her.
Let's talk examples of why Beth = water.
We saw water bottles around her in Still.
All the water/boat/Oceanside symbols we've equated with her. I don’t want to list them all. There’s been like a billion. Each time I've seen or pointed one out, I've simply thought it was a foreshadow of Oceanside. And I'm sure they all are. But it's deeper than that. Her SYMBOL is actually water, which is why Oceanside happens to be so fitting.
And it also works REALLY well with Beth and Daryl because they complement each other so well. Beth's water can douse his fire and make him more civil. (Like when he wanted to cover Len’s body with a tarp, for example.) Daryl's fire (him teaching her to survive and his determination to keep people alive, like Judith in S3) stokes her determination to survive.
Tumblr media
It's all about balance. Beth is the water that balances Daryl. Without her, he could be consumed (*Consumed*) by his flames. We see him going off the rails without her. Such as when he decided to get revenge for Denise in 6b, which just led to more trouble and heartache. Glenn, Michonne and Rosita couldn't talk him out of that. Beth would have been able to, which is tragic in itself.
Norman has said that Daryl will go rogue in S8. We don't know what that means exactly, but it doesn't sound good. I think Daryl will be in the darkest place we've ever seen in him in S8, close to being consumed by his flames. Which will also mean that Carol's line to him in Consumed about how "everything now just consumes you," was a foreshadow for Daryl's future arc, after losing Beth.
So once @wdway and I started talking about this, we both totally geeked out and couldn't stop coming up with examples. I mean, once you realize this, the evidence just starts coming out of your ears. Check it out:
Christian symbolism has its roots in water. There's baptism, which is symbolic of death and resurrection by water. Several of Christ's miracles included water, such as turning water into wine (*coughs moonshine*), walking on the ocean, and calming the stormy sea.
With that last one, I can't help but think of this from S4:
Tumblr media
In this scene, Hershel holds up a mug that says, "Java saves," which is also a (funny) Jesus reference.
@wdway also pointed out that after this, Hershel goes out into the woods to gather berries to make tea for those sick with the virus. Granted, he makes tea, not wine, but still. Berries and grapes are used to make wine. And Beth gathered grapes in Inmates. I've always wondered about the grapes because we really don't see them again. They're not a recurring symbol like strawberries for Beth, or pomegranates for Carol. We just saw them the one time. But grapes were used to make wine, so you can see how that might tie in. A couple episodes after gathering grapes, she and Daryl were drinking moonshine.
(And btw, the scene where Hershel gathers the buries includes a female walker with her leg caught in a bear trap. Just saying.)
Tumblr media
We also talked about how this relates to the title of Still. Most people think Still is so named because of the moonshine still, and they're right. But it's more than that. There are three possible uses of the word "still."
It can be a noun, as in, the moonshine still.
It can mean, "continuing." As in, "we're still here." And even though neither Beth or Daryl say that in Still, it's a very heavy theme afterwards. Carol says it to Daryl. Beth says it to Carol (a variation) at Grady. Carol says a variation of it to Mary at Terminus. And Michonne has said it to Rick several times in S7.
The final definition of still is the opposite of motion. In other words, calm, or peace. I know this doesn't sound like it has anything to with water, but we were talking about Christ calming the sea. ("Peace, be still.") And I sincerely believe part of the reason for that title is that Beth brought Daryl peace. In a lifetime of fire, she calmed his flames.
And, now that I'm thinking about it… This is kinda twisted, but Creepy Wolf Dude said, "be still," to his victims before killing them. It always jumped out at me because of the title of 4x12. Leave it to TWD to give a Christian reference to a murderous villain, but they're still using biblical references. So the wolves are using Christian dialogue that has to do with water. And Beth's symbol = water. See why I think Beth and the wolves are still a thing?
In the show, we see fire extinguishers around Beth in Still especially. Apparently we also see a lot of hydrants around Daryl. (Not something I've ever paid attention to, but if others have seen them, it's definitely a thing.) To see the water around Daryl suggests Beth is always with him.
Then there's the fire truck. I've always known the fire truck was a purposeful symbol. I mean, that's a very conscious choice for the writers. I always figured it was because it's red, and I've related the water in it to Oceanside before. But what do you know? It's more than that. Fire trucks are specifically called to put out fires, aren't they?
Tumblr media
It's also interesting that the fire truck ties Maggie, Rosita, and especially EUGENE, who's now at the Sanctuary, to Beth's story. (Remember, it disappeared along with Beth after Coda.)
Let's see, what else? Oh, we talked about the miracles of the bread and fishes, which happened by the sea. Christ blessed the fish and fed the multitude with very little. Tara ate fish by the Ocean.
Some other examples of Bethyl = Fire and Water.
I especially love this in light of Daryl starting the lake on fire at Alexandria. It was fire and water working together to defeat walkers and save TF and their home.
Tumblr media
@wdway even points to the trailer for S8. We see a lot of fire and explosions around Daryl in the trailer. And what does he do before starting those fires? Drinks water. Kinda like he needs a little bit of Beth/water protection before he blows shit up.
Tumblr media
And this is interesting because of discussion I had after the trailer came out. I can't remember who it was with (probably someone in my FB group) but it was suggested that maybe he's not drinking water. It kind of looks like a flask, so they wondered if he was drinking moonshine.
Even back then, I didn't think that was likely. We saw both Beth and Daryl refuse alcohol from other people when they were apart. I think it's kind of a theme that they only drink together.
Tumblr media
So symbolically, I doubt he'd be drinking moonshine here. Plus, Daryl is really responsible about his drinking, as we saw in Still. ("Someone's gotta stand watch.") So I doubt he'd get drunk before getting on a motorcycle and having aim at stuff with a gun to start fires.
But it's just kind of interesting because obviously things are seeing Beth symbols in the trailer.
Another thing that's super interesting in light of this is Arsonist's Lullaby. I love that song. It's so haunting! And it's interesting because when it's played in 6b, we don't see much of Daryl. It focuses on Morgan, Michonne, and Rick. But we do also see Tara and Heath, which is also interesting.
youtube
Anyway, the song says things like, "All you have is your fire." And "Don't you ever tame your demons, but always keep them on a leash." It also talks about the flames of childhood. It personifies Daryl more than just about anyone. Beth helps him keep his demons on a leash. Without her, they kinda run wild.
I could probably go on for hours, but I won't. The last thing I want to mention is Them. Pivotal Beth episode, when the music box woke up, yeah?
Notice how that whole episode was all about TF not having water. We even saw a dry river bed, and Abraham drinking booze rather than water. No water = no Beth. Then, when the storm came (also felling trees, btw), the music box woke up.
Tumblr media
@wdway asked me about Aaron. He also brought TF water. The thing is, he's a big proxy for Beth in 5b. He talks about there being "good people," he deals with Daryl's surliness, where others won't. He spends a lot of time one on one with Daryl in the woods. He's the friend Daryl needed after losing Beth. And he brings TF water.
Okay, I'm gonna stop now. I know this is very sprawling. I actually do have more to say, but I’m going to give one other thing we talked about its own post. This is long enough as it is.
As I said, me and @wdway kind went wild with it. We couldn’t help ourselves. Not sorry, tho. ;D

So Andy leaving twd show is like a huge shock to the fandom and me. It’s like we watched a season and series finale ep that day and suddenly and we have to say our goodbyes of the twd show.
Ehh grieving feels.(it seems like lately I get duped a lot from writers. I hate I get super emotional on writers/story. geesh I want a good story, guys. Respect the fans, fandom is sensitive. But show business/bad writing happens. Neal’s death all over again or TLJ shit.) My hopes are crushed. I feel like my time was wasted. But it’s not tho...
It’s hard to look at TWD stuff which is like everywhere. (im kinda glad it’s now, before s9 starts-October or trailer in July) Seeing Rick and s9 Rick everywhere. It’s hard. It was kinda hard to see LC as Maggie in s8b (and Carl). BTS ruins the story magic in a way. eventually it’ll be fine.
I have all these thoughts and I want to post it all but I forget them. whatever. I’m just dealing with it how I can. #*twd 9h   #*twd
vvvv
I think I’m more bummed about how the story’s ending didn’t go like I hoped for. I wanted a nice ending. I thought the writers were gonna do that soon. Like s9 or 10 and just wrap it up and let everyone know that it’s the last season. Story that makes sense as I somewhat still trust writers to the end. But like I feared, the writers/AMC wants to keep going and ofc the cast wants to leave. It’s gonna be nine years. It’s an old show. I’m surprised we still got these cast members still.
I guess that’s super rare! I guess with TV shows and movies. I don’t like feeling duped. Like..there’s only a few shows I think of that I liked all the way to the end. Fringe! Lost. (Scandal ended nicely too like everyone knew it was gonna end) sigh. Others are like show business stuff ...being cancelled or cast leaving or bad writing, imo. TV fans don’t get perfect-ish stories. Idk ..I care about the story. I just want the overall story to make sense and I think that means it’s a good story. *ot, I also wanna say I think when tv shows get renewed to a different network, that also will change cast’s contract and writers and stuff.
So having Carl dying in s8A and making it about his dream and goal for Rick’s story, it seems pointless or just so sad that Rick then dies. Also that TWD, imo, is all about Rick’s story and he dies when the show is still going. It doesn’t make sense. It cheapens Carl’s story. It all cheapens TWD story. It was a lot to take during Carl’s death. I did a lot of posts about it. Wondering if I want to keep watching and if, imo, still fits in the story overall. I was ok with it because it was Rick’s story, imo. #*twd s8 spoilers It’s crazy because we just went through recently with a big change to the show. Now we have to do it again and this time it’s like huge. I guess easier to decide for a lot of people to quit or not now.
Rick leaving totally changes everything now (more than carl imo). He’s the lead of the show. Everything is built around this character. Can’t like get excited about s9 or have faith in writers/the story. Well I was already like ??? on s9 because of new showrunner, badly edited s8 finale, time-jump, and possible LC leaving (which I should’ve known that is a sign the cast is gonna leave one by one and not the show wrapping up well). I can’t even do fanarts rn. #m twd I can’t like speculate and hope what’s next. I can’t speculate with the comics anymore or feel like it. #twd tv remixes #twd speculations #
I’m fine that Andy wanted to leave the show. Show business. I care about the story and well it is just sucks that the story didn’t end well. The ending of twd will not make sense overall of the story.
It’s clear that Amc twd chose business over story. Twd with 9 seasons. C'mon end the show well, already. But no. We have to watch the cast leaving one by one, and characters dying as it doesn’t make sense to the story. Twd should have had ended in s7, IMO. Sigh..it seems like it was recent like after they planned Carl’s death because, if TWD/writers knew the cast and AL wanted to know the story’s endgame and change jobs before Carl’s death, then it’s dumb. Like I was thinking they killed Carl so then writers can have Michonne live longer storywise. But yeah ..dumb decision now.
It just sucks. We didn’t get a good ending to the story. I’m pretty sure Rick dies. No happy ending for him. And I guess Maggie too. It would be miserable to watch Michonne losing her family and love again and again. Weird thing to say but I hope Michonne dies too.
Unless s9a Msf was like a series finale and wrapped TWD show well and Rick’s story. It would be great to see a lot team family moments (like Carick) and Richonne/Grimes family moments. And the Grimes and Maggie and her baby ride off to the sunset. Then s8b will be like a beginning of a spin off show, Daryl’s show. But I doubt it. There’s like to many other things going on. Sigh. I think .. Rick, Maggie will be killed off. Probably from the goriest moment in the comics. I hope it’s not the head on pike scenes. If they die, I hope they do it different and nicely.
Oh, all these changes. I really don’t know what s9 is now. #the fumbling dead twd And so I think I just don’t wanna speculate anymore. idk. I guess I want to know how s9 goes based on filming spoilers ..but I don’t want to watch s9 so far. I don’t want to see these characters die or see dumb writing. idk I think I’ll be ok to watch s9 and on if there’s like really great writing that make sense to me. It becomes like a spin-off show. Like I can separate TWD/Rick’s story and Daryl’s story really well. Daryl leads(he is) and Caryl be canon and everyone’s interesting. But that’s like a lot I’m asking of the writers. I think it’s gonna be dumb. Rick dies (from a savior rebel?). Maggie does something (stays or dies). Michonne is still there...and all she does cries till Danai ends her contract in the end of s9. (It would be nice if we get Carol/Michonne/Maggie? sticking together, comforting together..something that changes Michonne’s character arc?). It’s so depressing.
I think the best way to think of this and wonder is to look at OUAT last 2? seasons. Most of the main cast left, there’s a timejump and boy Henry is a adult and leading the show. It was like a spin-off show. Or like TVD. I think the main character still got sad endings in their story.
sigh idk. rip TWD. Bye old friends..see ya in the another life/fandom. I hope the Daryl-show goes well??? I don’t know yet if I’m gonna watch s9 or not. whatever, u’ll know. There’s always youtube, gifs, and summaries, and fanfictions.
sigh this hiatus. it’s sad. like i can’t do fanarts... do fanarts for the last time of these character/twd story. I guess. idk.
----comics----
I feel like I can’t like get excited about the comics either. Because it was also fun to speculate what the show will do. Huge differences now. It becomes (more) like what the show could have done or a reminder of how the show lost these characters and the good parts in story of the TWD show. I read the comics becuase of the show. I like the Grimes and Michonne in the comics and the show, which is just hard to read it when the these characters are not like that in the show. Can’t like share or speculate with the Richonne shippers anymore because they’ll be gone then.

i need to make a post (and update daily) thats like my thoughts during s8 with knowing about the big character-death-spoiler/rumor from TSDF. so then i won’t spam n annoy people. (and hide. idk, my readers can see it or read it whatever. but this keeps me sane.) k...  more posts about on,  #*twd, #*twd s8 spoilers, or Here
(keep reading) *Heavy TWD spoilers!
*I’m guessing these hints will be featuring mostly to the Grimes 2.0...Rick, Michonne, Carl, and Judith.
** So, based on the spoiler/rumor is that Carl dies in the msf.( But I just wanna say sometimes I think it’s also..Rick who will die. Maybe because we see Rick a lot in s8a instead of Michonne and Carl, so far. -ep 2) Plus, s8 filming isn’t done yet and stuff could be changed. Symbolisms and stuff ..isn’t real clear because it’s meant for us to speculate and wonder ..but yeah. Idk. So, my speculations may be wrong.  ps. I don’t know much about religion stuff,so..I probably miss out on the religion symbolisms and their meanings.
---
After watching two episodes, yeah…….something’s very big is gonna happen to Rick(and other Grimes.). I love these symbolisms/parallels throughout s8, but omg! :(  I like these symbolisms and I was wondering about how the writers will do(try) with the big death of the show. So far, I like that they’re hinting at us and doing something meaningful about it. Of course it depends on some fans that  if it satisfy them of how the writing/storywise goes, and still believe in it and keep watching, Or no matter what happens they want to quit the show. u could be annoyed how obvious symbolisms/parallels, but I like that it is obvious or whatever cos so then the audience gets it and feel like ready for it, suspect that a Grimes death will happen.
- 8x01 - They show these weird visions and timelines with Rick and it’s only Rick(Grimes). There’s “red eyed rick”  , and his” future-vision/old man rick” AL said it’s like a puzzle. Maybe like a one vision is true, idk. Each visions in the episode, there are death symbolisms. In the future-vision, Judith mentioned an owl and there was a song been playing. Parody song of Queen’s “Another one bites the dust”. Red-eyed Rick’s scene, uh the Greek window sign thing..means death marker. Basically symbolizes death. Red-eyed Rick was crying pretty hard like someone personal to him died. (At first I thought it’s a Negan-choice thing but from the spoilers, it makes me think it’s about Carl.) Red-eyed Rick said the quote that Siddiq said about mercy.(the man who said the quote, and Carl, later helped him by giving him foods.) The quote brings up of what Carl did or reminded me of the opening scene. All this pointed to Carl. When Judith mentioned of an owl in the future scene, it made me think that the writers do symbolisms that would describe “child/ren death”. Like maybe it will be like “one of Rick’s kids will die. Who?” IMO, I don’t think the writers will kill off Judith.
Beside of all those scenes, the scene when Rick killed the savior and he was threatening him and saying “your boy will die. I’ve seen you beg.” etc. I found it interesting that writers showed that. Idk if it’s like showing something simple-like how different Rick is now than s7,or is it that scene is something to think about a lot. That scene seems to be something to think about. hmm
With all these symbolisms, it’s interesting that there’s a scene of Michonne and Carl, when Michonne said “this is your show.”to protect ASZ. If Carl does die, this is like the saddest red-herring?/foreshadowing thing. Carl will die in ASZ with Michonne.( *i think the spoiler said she finds him dead or she was there and saw it. idk. it’s very like s6 msf.* I’m so ahhh sad for Michonne. And Rick too, I hope Rick will be able to talk to Carl for the last time.) It’s not gonna be Carl’s show.
- 8x02 It seems so telling(because we’re getting closer to the truth), and I’m liking how the writer are dealing with it so far. I think i know why they brought back Morales(yeah that guy from Atlanta, so far away). He's the guy that knows Rick from s1(the beginning of the story/premise-ish~) and knows s1-Rick. Maybe there will be more Morales in the season or we will have a defining moment of the season between Rick and Morales. And that Morales’s plot with Rick is like...something that will feel like ..the show is wrapping up s1-8a’s story about “Rick looking after Carl”! Plus, something to show how much Rick had changed.
I keep thinking about the comics. I’m pretty sure s9 is set in the future. In the comics, the volume? is called “The New Beginning” It’s all seem coincidental. It’s a new beginning for Rick and the Grimes. Just not like the new beginning-way as the comics did. (But, I’m sure it’s hard for the writers to do this “new beginning” when Carl dies before the war ends(?) and before the future. The writers are doing both, on changing premise and meaning of the “new beginning.” Unpopular opinion, I wish they recast Carl then. I wish they say s8 is their last but it’s not..and idk how long TWD go on. It’s all confusing. s8 not planned out well? Perhaps TWD’s conclusion will just suck no matter what.)
So, I’m wondering if I’m right about the “children death” symbolism. We see a baby and her name is Gracie. I’m not sure what it could mean about “grace”, but again they mention a child. Something about children and grace. It could also mean that war is horrible and that innocent lives could die. Also that changes people like Rick and others. Should Rick go far as killing a father who’s a Savior or save the father who will look after the baby. Rick’s a father so ...it’s all personal to him.
On The Talking Dead show of ep 2, Gimple said there will be a lot more moments that reminds Rick of the past. Like wow, mentions of the past! I think that’s just showing more of wrapping up of the storyline of s1-s8a. I guess I call it’ the old premise.’ of TWD. “Rick looking after/raising Carl” ...Or, it could be just some arc that Rick learns about his character and changes. (I guess about Negan stuff.) Or, both. Btw, I’m liking s8 so far and I’m really interested in Rick’s arc. The battle scenes/ action stuff doesn’t bore me. It’s also cool or feels different that everyone’s interacting. All communties are together. Though, I wish for more TF interactions and more scenes of Carol with TF.
- 8x03 -pre-aired sp.  I read 8x03 spoilers and okaaaaaaaay it’s like I’m wrong on my theories. meh..i really dont want Grimes adopting Gracie. Seems like Aaron will. Also apparently, Morales dies right away too. But, before that he called Rick “monster” which reminds me of Carl’s moment with Michonne s4. “Im a monster like everyone else.” So,idk yet how the scene goes, but I think either way, seeing Morales and thinking of s1 and how much Rick changed ..is something that makes us think of TWD s1-8A. Still kind of like wrapping up the old premise TWD story. ..eh or just like how Rick and Negan are/not similar. ??? /Also with the dumb Gracie theory, is that Morales also said that lost his family. Probably be similar/foreshadowing to Rick on losing his kids, like Morales./ But, I hope Aaron adopts Gracie.
*I keep hoping the writers are doing this theory I have on “wrapping up the old premise of the show” thing because I think it’s a good idea, helps for me and for some others to deal with on” should I keep watching the show after carl dies even though Rick/Carl father and son is the premise of the show?”*
After watching it, I think the Morales re-appearance thing was more like ..something minor..something that makes Rick think. Like he’s not Negan-plot. I do think Rick is starting to think or be part of the side of not wanting to kill all saviors. (comics-saving civilization) He’s giving WTF faces to Daryl. So, Idk about this Morales thing. ok writers...meh. Well, yeah, Rick and Morales did made me think of the show overall with the mentions of Glenn and widow, and how Rick changed. “Officer friendly”. But it didnt remind me of Carl and father/son part of the show. However the part with Rick trying to help out Todd, reminds me that Carl is on that side of having faith/hope..take prisoners kind of thing. Rick was trying to help Todd and it was like he was thinking of Carl too / in 8x01.
idk i’m kinda disappointed uh ...I just hope writers can pull it off with the carl ‘s death and changing the story. But, it’s just kinda there. (msf is gonna be too shocking) Also, Carl isn’t in much of S8A, i think. There’s a lot of focus on Rick.  hmm it’s like Rick got two arcs going on..that’s go together, I guess. Keep prisoners/not negan(keep civilization), and the other is blast from the past/he’s changed/~different premise
ps. I think Daryl got comic-Carl’s arc in this season, who wants to kill any savior. It’s not like he stole it or writers got lazy (maybe), but like just so tv Carl can die as still being likable and good(moral compass). Or, actually, I think Daryl is acting like what I was hoping tv-Carl would act like in s8 before I learned about the major death spoiler.  I wonder where tv-Carl stand on the whole kill saviors or keep prisoners. It makes me think tv Carl would want to keep the prisoners.
8x04- This was mostly about Ezekiel and team kingdom. carol and jerry. shiva. Plus a bonus Rickyl car chase. (less on Rick’s arc) I really liked this ep, but w/the big spoiler, I feel that Carl should be featured more. ..I hope he is in the next 4 episodes. I miss lil bad ass guy and wished he was with Rickyl.
So with parallels or hints, someone mentioned that with the leaders, Rick, Maggie, and Zeke, they all lost someone...or will, in a big way. Zeke in this episode lost Shiva who made him who he is as a king , a hero, a leader. So for Rick..perhaps writers are thinking he gonna lose someone-Carl, that someone who made him want to survive and lead in the ZA. idk but its interesting. It kinda says that what will Rick be now after Carl ..in the “new beginning” and not-like-negan stuff.  (btw omg the comicbook foreshadowings/parallels with zeke.)
-8x05 The Negan/Gabe ep, plus Rickyl. I wrote some stuff already in #*twd. So I was surprised Negan mentioned his wife to Gabe. It makes me think the writers might speed up the story that is based on the comics.(Carl gets comic-Andrea’s death?) So, with Rick, it’s interesting again, that there’s callbacks/parallels happening to him. All about Rick in that way. In the ep, Rick saw a helicopter flying past him. It’s a callback to pilot and later in s1, *Morales called him “Helicopter boy”. Before that, we see Rickyl fight a bit over the kill/no kill all saviors, Daryl was doing the chokehold and they pointed it out. Strong callback to s1x03. I’m kinda surprised the callbacks/parallels are still going. It’s not just 8x01. All these parallels and stuff..reminding the fans of what the show was like...old premise..Rick looking after his son. Oh, these arguments on killing saviors, is kinda what it is in the comics, I think most disagree with Rick and in the future.
-8x06 Everyone’s appears. It’s kind of a transition ep. or filler episode(s). Ok so everyone’s catching up what had happened during the day. It’s cool to see everyone. I liked that Maggie mentioned Sasha! So, I’m kinda disappointed on this episode. There’s some plots that are just like boring or confusing. I mean the whole Michonne just wanting to see Sanctuary. ok... (some battle scenes too hollywood) Then there’s this sudden thing of TF going apart, going rogue and against Rick’s “plan”. It’s annoying and confusing. Idk where Enid/Aaron went but it’s not Rick’s “plan”. Daryl/Tara are gonna be more annoying..u’ll see. But that’s what angry people do. (probably leading to some more Rickyl separating more) Michonne got what she wanted to look at Sanctuary, but I wish she mentioned Rick or something else. I liked seeing Maggie as a leader and just figuring out on her own to be what kind of a leader. She does what she wants to do.
I love the Carl moments with Siddiq. I love that Carl is this good young man. I love the callbacks of Lori’s promise. That’s important to me and I liked that the writers mentioned that. But with the Carl’s death thing...I wish for more from the writers. (see other post.) I also like Carol’s moments too. There’s like callback of Sophia.( I guess callback to think of s2/Sophia.) I really like the convo with Zeke, about being real (even tho shippers being all crazy from it)I think it’s not about romance but just what they had done to survive.k. I really hope there’s good reasons writing-wise, to have Rick at Scavengers. I’m hoping it goes on some plan b thing..to have Rick meet Negan, or a plot to show TF saving Rick. BUT, spoilers, it’s not that...idk what happens later yet. Just seems disappointing and learning about Lennie/Morgan going to FTWD is just gah!
I hope writers explain why they have rick’s plan not taken seriously from TF and Rick being at Scavengers place. IDK how Rick goes back to ASZ. *i feel bit anxious and expecting a lot more because it’s almost to s8 msf.
I like the parallels/foreshadowings too. Like gallows/gregory. Carl mentioning his parents...I believe Michonne will be with him when he dies. Carol leading kingdom in the future, maybe? I like the A symbol (foreshadowing doom or something lol) on the box where Rick was at.
s8A so far-  So I kept thinking of s8A in writers’ perspective. Just trying to see where some plots are going. I just realized s8A is about Rick’s “plan”. Crazy thing is the fans don’t know much of it. Just some basic things or mentioned throughout the season. First four episodes were about them putting heard of walkers around Sanctuary and trapping the Saviors inside the building. Then Rick (originally with Daryl?) goes to the Scavengers/Jadis to make a deal again and to show them that TF can kill them if they disagree, and show proof that Saviors are weak-losing team of the war. And it was subtle..The leaders and everyone else was to meet up at Sanctuary to fight against the Saviors.
So s8A is about Rick’s “plan” and then writers like to add conflict to Rick’s “plan” arc with the whole characters stuff about the prison of war, Shiva death/Kingdom, being emotional-going rogue.(Daryl, Tara, Morgan),which the writers believe add conflict to Rick’s “plan”/TF.  Plus, on the side, Carl’s plot with Siddiq, Rick’s visions..etc.
I don’t know what or how the Rick’s “plan” arc will end. Will it end in S8A or finale. Like Rick’s “plan” is actually the whole war plan and not part of the war plan.  So, it kinda makes me feel a better, so far, to know that there’s some conclusion to this plot and that we will understand it (partly?) better in MSF. Because of how the story structure goes. beginning middle ending.
I wish/hope writers explain why TF keep not listening to Rick and it seems like they keep doing that. It’s similar to s6B except it wasn’t on anyone’s plan. It’s some weak plot device, I guess, because fans keep complaining. Idk. I don’t see it that way because that’s just how stories goes...to get moving the story along. It’s some plot device when TF does something stupid just to get TF to where they become Negan’s lineup(s6finale). In s7, it was TF/ASZ doing their own thing and not working together, going against Rick’s lead, which was all leading to more trouble and deaths till s7 MSF.#riseup( and Sasha’s death.) They all finally work together and got faith. In s8A, it’s like writers are doing that plot again, with TF not following Rick’s “plan”, not working together as a team because they don’t agree on how to end the war and they think there’s better ways to end it too. Also, emotional things too like death of Shiva and Eric etc. Zeke won’t get out of his theater to meet Rick, Daryl/Tara went rogue, Aaron/Enid went somewhere else. The conflict is out. I guess that means ...Rick’s “plan” won’t work or it will work. Something else will happen.-S8B. (i thought of all this cos i see hate on Daryl and it kinda confuses me. Daryl didn’t repeat his actions. He’s just stubborn and quick to fight. s6b-trying to find dwight/captured. no one had to go with him..&leading up as the Negan’s lineup. s7-”killing” glenn and being prisoner at Sanctuary was all uh lead to man-pain and that also lead to s8-kill rage ..which this arc makes these characters so unlikable and do dumb stuff. But, in the end, the character will come back what they use to be and find forgiveness and peace or whatever. Maybe Daryl fighting Rick in 8x05 will lead something major. Maybe Rick will drift apart even more or they will make up later on. So, when Daryl screwed up Rick’s plan w/Jadis, that’s there will be some Rickyl plot to happen later on.)
8x07- It’s mostly a Eugene, Rick-Scavengers, and Daryl’s rogue team. Carl wasn’t in the ep. There wasn’t any big foreshadowing or so in the episode. But some scenes reminds me of TF at the Prison. Like when the herd went inside the Sanctuary, and Rick using the rifle gun. Some Comic Gabe mentions too. Also this episode was like a transition/filler episode. I actually liked the episode than I thought based on the spoilers. There were character moments I enjoyed. Even though fandom hates Daryl (not Morgan n Tara) and hates the pace n the war, but I liked the character-y moments. Even though it can be frustrating from ur fave character. I really love Michonne and Daryl’s scene. It’s like bittersweet and angsty. It’s sad Daryl and others can’t stick together with this plan-that is they’re working and doing it. It’s also kinda like omg sadz, Michonne going back to ASZ cos that’s where shit will happen. What Rick did to get Scavengers on his side and beating Winslow Jr. was cool and seems reasonable to me for why he wants them on their side and his threat to them if they don’t. I do kinda hope MIchonne saves him and have a Richonne moment but, this scene showed how strong Rick is. What Rick saw that there’s no herd surrounding the sanctuary which was what others did that made that happen, is all foreshadowing for Saviors showing up at ASZ to where Carl dies. It kind of reminds me of s6 and the herd going into ASZ. s8 reminds me a lot of s6.
I still don’t know why writers have TF not on the same page sometimes and going against Rick’s plan, but I’ll say it’s not exactly “repeated” like before but, it’s same as just going against Rick again. idk. It also shows that they can think of themselves, Rick isn’t god. I guess Michonne went against Rick for a bit but still in-character, she explained and thought why she doesn’t wanna do what Daryl team wants to do. ^
I think it’s subjective on what u think is bad writing or not. It’s subjective if you think it’s just characters doing “ooc” moments to get to the endpoint for the plot, because that’s what imo, any writers do. On what Daryl’s team did and what Eugene did, that led to Saviors escaped and fighting against TF in MSF where Carl dies. IMO, I don’t think it’s too OOC or too tropey ..and characters doing stuff to get to the point of the plot. I think the writers did it well enough to show TF struggling and making trouble that led to Carl’s death. So far, I don’t blame Daryl and his team. I don’t blame Eugene. I guess if I really want to blame someone in a harsh way, it would be Eugene. But, this plot just seems like an accident or just whatever it was gonna happen. idk the spoilers exactly but I’m assuming Carl dies from savior. Savior/the war is most blamed on ofc. Carl could even be bitten by a walker in ep 6. This fandomwank is similar to like saying “I blame Aaron because he led the Wolves into ASZ.” So, ofc Daryl is getting a lot of hate. haters gonna hate. But, if in the story, Daryl is blamed, then yeah Daryl ofc would feel guilty and stuff and like maybe there’s some other plot that the writers have in mind. Evil-Daryl? Daryl moves away ASZ? etc. I don’t think it’s bad writing..it’s just what the writers planned and showed buildup and foreshadowing to it. That seems to good to me. It’s interesting that during s8A, the ones who wanna kill all saviors, are teamed up. TF split away, Rick’s plan was going well and then shit will happen..like what we suspect? from Rick’s vision...all to the mid season finale.
-12/5 pre-MSF I notice right away, AMC and TTD’s Hardwick mentioned a shocking moment in MSF. They promoted a bit but seems so jarring and like yeah ..woke the fandom there. The trailer and the promo pics, are focusing on Carl/Grimes 2.0. I liked that. Carl looks grown and looking like Rick and being like a leader. ‘It’s Carl’s show’ I think the writers are gonna do justice for Carl in the way I hope for.The online fandom seems to already know about the spoiler death. I liked that most seem to know and to prepare for the big death and the big change of the show. Either way, it’s like saying goodbye to the old premise show, the s1-8a-show and it’s just sad.
-Idk what it is, lately(close to msf), I’m seeing positive kind of posts and meta posts. And, seeing those promo pics is making me excited again about this show. I think the msf is gonna be a good episode or what Gimple and writers will do their best on this episode.
-I’m curious on what the msf’s title means or who says it. “How It’s Gotta Be”
-So I read the speculations on spanish translations-spoilers. Idk if its true.... but it reminds me of how TWD’s pattern of giving a cliffhanger in bad timing sometimes. They suck at it. Like s6 msf, s6 finale(though that didn’t bother me). I like how they did s7msf and s7f. I really didn’t like s6msf where it was just them in the herd and that’s it. Anyways, in s8 msf, there’s a chance of the audience learning about Carl’s bitten..or dying and other stuff. Then winter hiatus to s8 msp, we get that emotionally resolution of Carl, Carl’s death. So, I hope it’s not so annoying..and there’s something that we will know about. Like, we will know Carl will be/is dead. Not,”someone is gonna die.”Also, like a chance again of more fandomwank/hating on writers on if it’s a badly written cliffhanger. Waiting sucks = hiatus sucks. It’s hard..writers want to put a winter finale and then there’s the Feb~ratings grab- mid season premiere. 2 big episodes in that way. I just want a well written episode and respect toward characters.
8x08/MSF- “How It’s Gotta Be”
ok so i already made some posts and reblogged some posts about the episode and carl.
IMO, I really liked the intense episode on how they focused Carl as a hero of ASZ. Great family-sad ending with the sewerage tunnel scene. I know the majority hated that Carl will die, but for me at the moment, I’m interested on what the other characters will do (Richonne) and see if I will like this new show’s premise will go. Me and everyone will know more in ep 9. (btw im glad it’s not msf cliffhanger.)  It’s also kinda makes it exciting and different between comcis and the tv show....and story trope? ‘father and son and he lost his son.’  we know for sure  Basically what i had thought since 8x01 is still the same. Of course things could change in s8B if carl’s death and absence really bothers me. I know Carl is the heart the of show but Rick is who I keep watching for.\
Also, so far with writing-wise, there’s 2 things i look for. Respect character and if the premise still make sense or transitioned it well-or I’m still interested in the show and the whole series. I feel like the respecting the character part was well. I do think they planned it since 8x01 and gave moments of forshadowings, callbacks, and seeing how much Carl had grown and being like a better man than Rick. Plus, that Carl lead ASZ safe from Negan’s battle. Now, I’m waiting for the hard part with the premise part and ..we will see and know more in ep 9. I know that it already divide the fandom and all that. (interestingly it already did since s8 began. the fandom wank. idk i guess people don’t like AOW and future stories of TWD or war stories. blah..fandom wank and that just usual old show hate.)
