ok so there is a mirabel statue displayed at d23 this year but it’s different to the display they previously had for the past 2 years, the mirabel statue has been displayed with backdrop image of her family in the posters previously BUT this year it’s different. (For reference 2022 display on the right!)
look at how instead of a backdrop there’s another 3D statue! this time of the family door from the end of the movie
so they’ve updated the display to look almost like the casita itself? why would they feel the need to expand on the display when they’ve had the same backdrop and mirabel for 2 years now?

I’ve wanted to draw this for years:
What the Gravity Falls fandom seems to think a Pines family trip to the Oregon Coast would be like:
Vs, what it would actually be like (source: I’ve lived in Oregon my whole life, the following is what I experience when I have a “beach day”) :

I’ve been tired and unmedicated for two days so you’re getting a weird post with minimal context.
In an alpha or beta version of AHIT, if you gave a Time Piece to Mu in pity at the end, you’d end up exactly one Time Piece short and have to walk all the way home. Then there’d be a scene with Hat Kid having grown up, thus being Hat Adult, and you’d meet a similarly grown-up Mu, who would give you the Time Piece back.
I just realized within the past hour that if grown-up Hat Kid is called Hat Adult, the adult version of Mustache Girl must, by necessity, be called Mustache Woman.
I find that far funnier than I probably should.

I think the reason the Phantom (2004) is not as good of an adaptation of the stage show as it could’ve been, is because it didn’t have the OG Pro staff involved in its development.
I could be wrong here (and if I am let me know) but it seems that the movie was entirely the brain child of ALW and Joel Schamaucher. No Hal, no Maria, and no Gillian, who we know really helped ALW reshape the stage show to be more palatable, sophisticated and romantic from his original drafts (the OG Main title music video from the 80s speaks ALOT)
But since the movie was only produced by him, it seems he didn’t really have people to bounce off ideas with, and it shows. I wonder what the movie (casting included) could’ve looked like if he allowed more creatives to come in and work with him.

want to read comics soooo bad but there’s like 1000 ones for each character with like 20 different runs. and then you find one but it’s actually from a run created by white guy #13 who fundamentally misunderstands the character. you find another and it turns out that it’s not canon. find another and it’s decent, only to read another and find that they both contradict each other. read an old comic book and you get to enjoy a story, with maybe even a nice dash of racism and sexism. read another and again you have to say ‘he would not say that.’ the next step is to cry ig.
