Thinking about them again and realising that I don't like the idea that Greylock was practically a bully to Cedric in their schooldays or that Cedric hated him. To each their own, but I think they're just two dorks with a bit of rivalry who get super competitive at times. They get along quite well together when they're not competing! Well, and when Greylock's not pranking him. He's just the annoying friend, I guess. I don't want Greylock to ever stop being annoying, and I want Cedric to be seriously concerned if he does stop.
As for why Cedric wouldn't consider him a friend: this is Season 2 Cedric. Literally his whole arc is about friendship.

“I used to be a marine”, he says, before he can think better of it. And when he does think better of it, well. He’s already said it.
Next to him, he can feel Shanks tensing up. He leaves him ample time to cut him off, half relieved when the redhead stays silent. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees him idly tracing the neck of the bottle they’ve emptied.
“I didn’t join out of some misplaced faith or sense of justice”, he feels the need to point out, his father’s stern face at the back of his mind. “I joined because my brother did”.
To have an excuse to get out of home, too. With Calugurul about to be shipped off, he hadn’t been too eager to find out if he could withstand the full scope of their father’s attention alone.
“We were… close, my brother and I”, he continues. And then, because it feels cheap to encompass their relationship with just that: “He taught me to fight. Gave me my first sword”.
Back when Yoru doubled him in height and he couldn’t fathom how his brother managed to wield it when he himself had trouble raising a simple steel sword.
“He did have faith in the cause”, he says after a moment. Under the night sky, Yoru stays black and void. Even the reflection of the small bonfire they’ve built evades it. “Quickly gained the trust of peers… and superiors”.
The back of his throat tastes bitter. Why is he doing this? He doesn’t owe Shanks a single thing. Why is he wasting his time trying to appease the redhead’s stupid insecurity about him not joining his crew?
He sighs.
“My skills in combat kept me by his side through all of it. That is, until Gyorgy Thurzo became our captain”.

Starting a little collection of times when Rose says/does something cute and silly and you can literally see the hearts coming out of Blanche and Dorothy
#was tempted to add dorothy entering the room behind rose in that first one bc her smile is just so precious <3#but it works better like this overall i feel#the second one is technically cheating bc dorothy is happy about having sophia's box again. but i will count it because this is MY gifset#and i get to decide what goes in it <3#blanche asking 'did you really know that rose?' in the third set is so precious to me <3#as is dorothy saying 'welcome back sweetheart' in the fourth set <3#and rose is always adorable ofc. her face when she rescues fernando is everything to me <3 just look at her!!!#fernando's subplot was sincerely top notch! one of my favourite b-plots!! it's simply too sweet#i still haven't figured out how to use the sharpen tool on photoshop :') so my primary goal for this set was missed i'm afraid#i did have fun choosing the moments and making them tho so i'm counting this as an overall success#and besides any time spent staring at these beautiful ladies is time well spent in my book#they <333#the golden girls#golden wives#feel free to suggest any additions to this collection btw!! i'd love to have others#gifs

me: yeah so we haven't had a meeting about it yet, but I asked my coworkers about past interns and why they left; chances are they won't hire me full time at my internship immediately. However, the chances of having it extended are pretty good, and I like what I'm doing, and they're going to be talking about budget in July. Sure my finances are a little tight but--
my sperm donor (only slightly exaggerated): look for a new job immediately and tell them if they won't hire you full time you're leaving. and no, I don't care if you don't find something in your industry and you have to settle for a job that will make you hate being alive even more than you already do. Also I'm going to ignore how long it took you to find this internship to begin with

So. You know when you find one particular bit of writing advice that, when you consider it regarding your character, makes you realise that you've been trying to tell entirely the wrong story with them?
And as soon as you figure that out, pretty much EVERYTHING else falls into place, and it's just like
#ooc#mun rambles#I'm just#amazed?#I'd basically abandoned Lauren's story for ages#because for all my years of working on it I could never figure out how to make it coherent#and I just stumbled upon the bit of advice recently about the main character's goal being the driving force in their story.#I sort of went 'huh I should consider that for other projects going forward'#and then just sort of thought '...well I wonder where considering it with regards to Lauren would take me...?'#I realised the problem was that her goal really wasn't informing the plot at all#so I began reconsidering#and just#ALL the pieces just came together#I spent like an hour or two this morning just RAMBLING all sorts of ideas for it and they all FIT#and worked together so well; everything connected together so much better#her story in my head makes so much more sense now#and I'm actually excited to get working on it again!

Just now convinced my mom to watch the Percy Jackson show with me by playing some songs from the musical and showing her the tv trailer. I got her now, boys!!!! I'd call this a win!!!!😈😈😈
We love watching Harry Potter together and I'm hoping Percy Jackson will be the next big thing we marathon together!
Even better is that my mom was asking who Percy's godly parent is and I refused to tell her. She knows nothing about Percy Jackson so I can't wait for her to find out all the stuff I already know.
