Hello! I hope I won't sour your mood with this ask but I have been thinking a lot about your gay dogs this month especially.

I'll just try to keep the context short but in general I'm someone that has accepted being romantically undesireable. It was hard but in the end I have built my life just around me, my humble family and at this point in time I don't even think I have the time for a partner. And considering that it's the love month and a lot of people are preparing to celebrate it with their SOs I assumed that, actually, this is a thing that I sort of have in common with Machete.

From the miscellaneous lore on your profile I see Machete as someone that also has kind of rejected love. That also has built his life around his job, possibly hobbies, his family or mentors (depending if we're talking about canon or modern au). Who kind of forgot that relationships are a thing and that people bond with others in that way. Well, at least he did until meeting Vasco.

I just love thinking about their awkward beginnings. Machete being 100% sure that Vasco is just joking, maybe even sometimes teasing him (in a friendly banter type way) or just explaining to himself that all that kindness and interest is just him being a very considerate friend. And then we have Vasco that just tries to be subtle, as if he was trying to pass a fawn without it noticing and running away, but also with time gains confidence and tries more risque moves. Vasco being all smug and Machete being flustered when their hands or shoulders or tails brush in passing. And then when both are sure of their feelings we have Machete who has to choose between God and his love. Who, at first, unwillingly accepts that divine wrath will be worth their brief love.

I don't know why you thought you might accidentally sour my mood, I'm utterly delighted whenever I hear that someone has been pondering my little guys (rotating them in their head, as they say), and when they go through the trouble of sharing their findings and conclusions I'm so happy I could crawl up a wall.

I think you deciphered Machete's inner workings very well, especially those of the original canon version. The concept of love is of course prominent in Christianity, so even as a kid being raised in a religious environment that discouraged overt displays of affection and close personal bonds, Machete wasn't completely alienated from it. But it has always been a nebulous, unperceivable and unattainable thing for him. When he was old enough to lock down his career choice he readily accepted he'd never have romantic relationships, spouse or a family, and I think he must've been too young and socially inexperienced to think of it as a significant loss. Either he consciously blocked out the need for companionship by studying and working like his life depended on it, or he didn't really consider that being genuinely befriended, appreciated and loved as a person instead of a respectable and competent authority figure was even an option for him, at least not until Vasco came along.

I mean, I'd be a little weary of joining a dsmp discord if it isn't c!dream centric since historically that tends to not go well in general. Just got back from 28 years later and even though i expected it to be bad nothing could've prepared me.

Jodie comer is helping a zombie woman give birth in what is supose to be a woman to woman solidarity emotional scene...it's not a horror movie it's family drama of the worst kind. It's the last of us but somehow worse.

Although the ending is just as wacky and over the top as the oppening scene and i can't for the life of me figure out why the whole movie isn't like that? It's like two completely different movies, and the drama they make you watch is not the better of the two.

just to get it out of my head: those robots I draw (and some that I haven't yet) were part of a secret wide-scale project that involved creating biohybrid life, which took place over several decades and was headed by one particular. well. in this case, they would probably be described in a scientific journal as an "eccentric" or "single-minded" individual. it was split across multiple locations so as not to arouse suspicion/salvage some of them if one facility was compromised. not putting all eggs in one basket kinda planning.

as part of the project, the robots lived in different control groups from "birth": some were raised by staff who took positions of adopting them into smaller, standard domestic environments, while others were raised on the grounds of the labs, subjected to more overt (safe (physically) ) testing and less one-to-one bonding from familial figures. though all were carefully monitored and kept very secluded from the wider world.

people on both sides became increasingly uneasy with the procedure and attached beyond research, despite efforts (threats) being made for them not to. this also became difficult to maintain as, in a move no one higher-up could have apparently predicted, people grew out of their easily-placated stage of childhood naivete and began to ask more probing questions.

the project was inevitably discovered and later shut down. those created from it now live in relative anonymity, if they choose to. it's not a world where diverse sapient species are as much of a stir as it would be in ours, but their case is still certainly unusual. anyway all of this really amounts to nothing more than flavour text you'd see in a video or virtual pet game accompanying fun little visual art and will probably never be expanded into anything relevant. just, you know. some lore for you to sit with.

dark knight quest thoughts. long post, with a lot of talk on cerise's story.

potentially sensitive, light references to his backstory consisting of abuse, and talk of his deadly job.

i was so excited to do the dark knight quests on cerise. so excited. i love these quests. the theme of embracing the self that lays suppressed within, who deep inside suffers for others' sake. they would be perfect for him, and they were.

this questline perfectly captured two of cerise's key concepts, and i knew they would! the work he does, and how it mirrors the way of the dark knight. the mask he wears, and how his true self is akin to the dark knight's darkside.

cerise does some very dirty work. he sweeps up vile people, torturing or killing them depending on what's deserved (or requested, if he's being paid). always for the sake of protection, so another poor child doesn't meet the fate that he had. he enjoys it, and it's not impossible to catch a glimpse of the joy he feels whenever he gets to inflict pain upon an abusive target in a reciprocal manner; the same pain that they have made somebody else feel.

often, this is done with the sweetest act to lure them in, catching them unassuming. yet his façade extends to most that he meets, laying on thick the compliments and pet names to endear himself to others for no apparent reason.

i view cerise as having two sides to him. his sweet, false side, an act that he puts on for others. "the dearest cherry." his true side, largely consisting of a suffering child wrapped in the defensive mechanisms of his protective older self. wrathful, biting, negative to the extreme. venomous. he doesn't know how to heal his hurt, so he covers it up with his fake persona, taken to the extreme. very much a dark side to how he is.

i absolutely love seeing cerise have two selves interacting, one being the "darkside," as it's exactly how i imagine the façade/true self.

cerise runs from it, however. he's desperate not to let the suffering show. he hides it physically, especially the scars on his face as they're hidden behind hair. he hides it mentally, forcing a smile on his face even when his eyes go dark. there's not a soul who has seen his authentic self. it can be inferred by cracks in cerise's mask - he's not perfect at acting, and can make some terribly negative comments, as well as go on rants about nobility - but never truly seen. this is a big goal of mine to write, a meaningful connection for him to accidentally let his guard down and immediately he breaks.

even his name, cerise. cerise cephinne. it's not real, and i've never come up with what i want his "real" name to be. intentionally, i don't even know his name. at some point, when does an alias become real? when he forges documents in its image, and never answers to the other. yet cerise, dear cherry, is not his name at all, and he never meant for it to be. simply an alias for a killer.

i'd love for cerise to accept this one day. he desperately needs to know that he can't push himself so far that he becomes an empty shell of a man. to let his pain into his heart and stop running from it. he's not who he pretends he is, and no amount of fake smiles will make him that.

but only he himself has the ability to do so. only he really knows who he is, and can pull himself out of a hole dug by a sweet mask. protector of the brume, saviour of lowborn children, "the dearest cherry, bringer of justice cerise cephinne!" - or just ******* myste?

i think he would make a great dark knight as a canon job. if it were not a job of a more rare and special calling, since i try to keep my characters relatively low-powered or mundane in the roleplay world, i would consider him picking up a greatsword. taking advantage of his pain, this darkside of his, and using it for justice in the way he already does, would be so fulfilling.

I'm enjoying the fontaine storyline so far I feel like it's progressing the plot forward a good amount and we're getting some rlly cool and important lore info but I Am sort of like. can we solve an insane crisis now. can we have a boss fight please. I enjoy that we're learning a bunch of stuff but it feels like we're Only learning a bunch of stuff and not actually Doing anything of monumental plot importance we're just sort of watching all of the other characters do it

Revisiting my Warframe AU

My Warframe AU, that I named "They Live", or "Furframe" for a sillier name, where the warframes ended up looking a bit different and also all being different individuals. Tenno do not exist in this AU, only warframes do.

Now I can't remember every detail about the canon lore so I'm working with that I can remember and understand, since Warframe lore is quite confusing sometimes, so here's my ideas on how it differs from the canon I remember:

When the Orokin first created the warframes, they ended up as more like living creatures than in the official timeline. Many of the warframes have animal-like, or monstrous features.

Each type of warframe was a modified version of the Helminth strain that caused specific features and abilities for each person that was injected with it, though each individual having variations (represented by the different skins, helmets and colours that can be chosen in-game). They started with the prime versions, and then moved to the regular versions later.

The warframes eventually betrayed the Orokin, and after the war was over they went into cryosleep. They are now slowly waking up from their cryosleep, many losing memories and waking up disoriented.

After awakening, some warframes formed clans to work together, some worked with whoever happened to have the same goal at the time, and some remained solo. A group of warframes joins together to make a clan called Ether Alliance. The AU story centers around this clan, consisting of my Warframe OCs.

So in this AU every warframe was once a person that got transformed into a warframe, though most probably lost their memories in the process. I also played around with an idea for a memory-based warframe that the Orokin made to wipe their memories on purpose, choosing someone who volunteered for it.

The warframes lost even more memories from the cryosleep, to varying decrees. Some could remember most of the war, some only had vague impressions, some had it so bad they couldn't remember a thing, not who they are or even what they are, completely clueless to even being warframes.

Now, I decided that the Lotus exists in this AU, therefore I had to tie Margulis and the Lotus' lore into it. Margulis probably saw transforming people into warframes forcibly and then forcing them to fight as immoral and objected to it, and then it goes as it does in canon, with the Tenno replaced by the warframes. That means Ballas looses Margulis because of his own creations, which is very funny I think.
