Recovery/Post-Fall

Will is lying, back to him. His breaths are long and even, but when Hannibal rounds the bed, eyes follow him.

Hannibal maneuvers his aching body to lie beside Will. He's still in the early stages of his recovery. It will be fortunate if the impact left with no permanent damage to his muscles. The sacrifice to Will Graham's alter is a steep one.

When he's finally settled in and is relieved of the days efforts, only their quiet breathing fills the air. Will's focus is on him, but he remains quiet.

He speaks up to the ceiling. "During our last conversation, I spoke with Bella of forgiveness and anger. By my hand, she was brought back from death's door, but not all of her returned. The anger and betrayal she felt I had sewn into our friendship had become obsolete. She was a woman between deaths, and therefore had no concern for forgiveness. Her anger slipped away, her sole focus on the new realm she then lived. No room for anger, betrayal, and forgiveness in purgatory."

Hannibal turns on his side to face Will, and the gaze there burns his skin. It's welcome. "Are we between deaths, Will?"

Will's voice is rough from disuse. "Are you asking if I forgive and forget?"

"I am asking if this place we find ourselves in is one where we are at peace"

He watches the last bit of tension leave Will's body with a sigh.

"I don't want to limit myself anymore."

Will reaches for him and rests a hot palm against the side of Hannibal's neck. His thumb gently caresses the skin over his pulse, feeling at the pumping blood underneath. Every moment of Will's regard is severe, and Hannibal basks in it.

"I threw us to the depths of nature's belly, and let it weigh our fate," a possessive caress over Hannibal's life's blood, "two predators amerged. Victorious."

this is probably tmi, but i woke up with a really weird rash this morning. i tried to go into work, but my coworker was like "you should probably go home," because it was all over my neck and hands and part of my face. i came home and took some benadryl and slathered myself in hydrocortisone cream and took a nap, and that seems to have helped, but i'm not going back into work today. makes me feel a little shitty, but my coworker was like, "hey, why not take the rest of the week off?" and i was like, hey, why not. i'm not going to, but i think i have thursday off, hopefully, so i'll get another three day weekend that i plan to do nothing but write during. here's hoping this rash stays away.
