Slowly they began to sway and move forwards and backwards. Despite the song having a positive and melodic beat, the story it told was not a happy one. Helena and Nozel were completely not in synch with the music, since he was leading her to a classical ballroom dance, but Helena did not care. She was overjoyed Nozel held her in his arms and was dancing with her. She looked at him with adoration. Love. That’s what she was feeling and it was wonderful. This whole time he was softly gazing at Helena.

I posted the Warrior Nun Vampire: the Masquerade AU story earlier but as the WN Commentfic Fest abides by the comment character limitation and the fic took pretty much all that space (yes), I couldn't post a link to the vibes playlist if anyone wants it, so I'm doing it now (click!).

I could have given the songs a better order but, honestly, if I truly sat down to add all the things I've been listening in preparation for this story as well as a possible doctor superion oneshot in the same universe because they are just so delicious then it would be... A very long playlist. I recommend taking some of those artists' catalogue and giving them a spin, especially Twin Tribes, French Police and Mareux, if one wants to get in the same mood I was in during writing.

EDIT: aw, YT blasted my little playlist to smithereens. I'll do something about it in a bit and update when I can.

Semifinal Round!

We did it! We made it to semis!!

That was a rough round, but it's only gonna get harder from here on out!

We finally lost There's Only One of You to Yakko's Universe. It was a difference of 21 votes (59/80) which if you're gonna go down, go down swinging!

There were an average of 108.5 votes per poll which is awesome! Thank you to the .875 of you from the last round of voting who rounded up. You really did pull up.

In a less than shocking turn of events, Yakko's World won its poll and had the highest number of total votes. I'm Mad put up a good fight garnering 60 votes to Yakko's World's 80 votes, a difference of only 20 votes!

I remember trying to write something for the ‘ford panicking when he ever hears we’ll meet again’ post (✨in secret✨) because it intrigued me so much, but then it escalated into an entire fic about ford and his relationship over the years with the song and also a bit about how his support system changed too. i think I did two chapters out of six before I realized maybe I should work on something else and left it in the back burner. I should check. anyways I still fricking love that idea and if you ever post the oneshot I’m gonna love that shit /pos

that's awesome dude. it's such an interesting idea and I hope mine captures what I was going for, if I ever get around to finishing it. I hope I do, though being entrenched in the two wips I'm invested in working on doesn't help its chances in coming out anytime soon haha. I'll think about it though. Might have to spruce it up a bit as it's technically older writing, but we'll see.

y'know what this is giving me some inspiration to do something with it so... maybe it'll be sooner than you think. no guarantees though.

I know we all miss Noah and are always hungry for more music from him. He is obviously an incredibly talented songwriter, but he's also very skilled at arranging other artists' songs to suit his voice and style and turning them into gorgeous cover songs. So once again I'm sitting here listening to music and imagining Noah's beautiful voice in place of the original artist.

I'd love to know what are some songs you'd wish to hear Noah cover? Like not necessary even like a top five. Let's make it simple, just give me three songs, right now off the top of your head, that you'd love for Noah to cover. I'll go first:

From where did people get the idea that "Zombie" by the Cranberries is about the evil British domination of Ireland throug htheir control of the North/somehow a Republican song? Surely the most obvious reading of it is as a harsh condemnation of the IRA and of Republican paramillitary violence, which is how I've always read it, at least. "It's the same old theme/since ninteen-sixteen/in your head, in your head, they're still fighting", i.e. you see yourselves as continuing a revolution that was over - we are independent now- It's not me, it's not my family - you don't represent us, the Irish people, even though you think you do. Or am I missing something obvious in the biography?

Who I don't want to win: Croatia and Poland (and maybe Ukraine just because the aftermath of that would be a mess I don't want to see)

Honestly, I'd be happy with every other country winning. That's how good I think most of the songs are this year. Like, even Spain who's 29 in my ranking (and does actually have a chance to win) I'd be happy with. I still think that song is good enough to deserve to win even if it isn't my personal favorite.
