The New World.
(Sorry for any grammer/spelling errors)
Scott flew back to Rivendell, the rapture had destroyed most of the empires and he had to check on his. As he got closer, he could see the vines.
"Oh no"
He landed and ran to check on the antlers. Safe. Ok, Scott then went to Xornoth's prison. Destroyed.
"Oh no"
He thought again.
He ran out side and was greeted by his brother, standing on a vine.
"Hello there"
Scott was unable to escape the circle he was teleported into, probable due to magic, and he was face to face with Xornoth, who was outside the circle.
"Xor Xor please."
Scott was begging at this point. What was he supposed to do! He had a husband and a child to look after. But Xornoth didn't know that. Then they heard rockets, someone land, and quick footsteps twords there location.
"SCOTT!"
"JIMMY, STAY BACK"
Scott yelled to his partner.
"Adar? What's going on? Are you ok?"
There child, Newt, asked him.
"Everything's fine Newt, just stay with Soña."
Newt wasn't the only one Scott was trying to reassure.
"Adar?"
Xornoth asked his brother, stepping into view of Newt and Jimmy.
"Yes, I have a child, and a husband, and thats why I need you to let me go!"
Scott pleaded to his brother, who walked over to the other two. Jimmy hugged Newt tightly to his legs, but didn't move, letting Xornoth get a good look at his nephew. Xornoth crouched down to eye level with Newt,
"Hello there little one. I dout you've heard of me but I'm Xornoth, apparently I'm your uncle."
Xornoth introduced himself to the child.
"I've heard of you! Adar talks about you a lot!"
Newt said happily. He was glad he could finaly meet his uncle, and his uncle looked so cool too!
"Oh? Does he now? What does he say about me?"
Xornoth was intruiged to know what his brother said of him in his absence. Thinking it would be like, 'he's a terrible person' and 'he deserved to be locked away' and stuff like that.
"He says that you were really cool, and an awsome big brother, but one day you were taken by the corruption. And the corruption is bad but that doesn't necessarily make you bad. So he and some other people had to lock you away, but he feels really bad about it, and really didn't want to, and said he was going to help you weather you like it or not! And… he really misses you."
Xornoth was surprised. He had just heard the exact opposite of what he expected to hear. He stood up, walked over to where Scott was, and wispered so only Scott could hear him,
"I miss you too, but it's too strong. I'm sorry."
Xornoth deactivated the magic keeping Scott in the circle, and vanished. Scott imediatly ran over to Jimmy and Newt and wrapped them into a big hug.
"I got to meet uncle Xor Xor!"
Newt exclaimed.
"Yes, you did!"
Scott was glad Xornoth didn't hurt them, but sad that he might not be able to help his brother.
Suddenly, a giant purple god-looking thing appered.
"You need to leave. Come with us, we are taking all of you to a safer dimention. No one will remember what happened in this demention, but we are sparing your memories, because you have a child. If you wish to keep your memories, you will not tell anyone about anything that happened in this realm."
The god explained, and they followed it through the portal it made. 'I know this symbol all too well' Jimmy thought, but ignored it anyway.
"To better hide the memories of others, you must not be allowed to stay as you are. We will have to hide your species from others."
"I can just become a normal elf, no wings or antlers. And maby change my outfit too."
Scott offered. The god agreed and purple filled the air, moments later, Scott's wings and antlers were gone.
"What about you? Little cod?"
The god asked, gesturing to Jimmy.
"I don't really know."
Jimmy said, and thought for a moment.
"Maby we can make you another hybrid entirly?"
The god offered. And Jimmy agreed.
Purple filled the air once more and now Jimmy's fins, tail, and gills were all gone. Replaced by small yellow wings.
"I'm a bird!"
Jimmy was a little excited, Scott's feathers were always so pretty, now he had his own!
"What about me?"
Newt asked the god, and it thought for a moment.
"I have an idea, if you will allow me"
Newt nodded.
Purple filled the air for the last time, and now, Newt was left with pointed ears, and gills.
"Is this ok?"
The god asked the three before him.
"I still have a little bit of Soña, and Adar! It's perfect!"
Newt exclaimed, already loving his new look.
"It's wonderful."
Scott said, and Jimmy agreed with a nod.
"Live safe little ones."
The god said before it, and the portal, vanished.
"So, no one will remember us?"
Jimmy questioned his lover.
"And we can't remind them."
Scott finished.
"Guess I'll have another chance to make peace with Fwhip."
Jimmy said to himself, but it was overheard by his husband.
"Thats what you're worried about?"
"Not worried, just… excited, no enemies this time! A fresh start!"
Scott was excited by that too. 'A fresh start' he echoed in his mind.
The next day went well, Scott and Jimmy introduced themselves, and Newt, to their new neighbors, and were hanging out with each other when the god appered for a moment.
"I forgot to mention this yesterday, but all of the emperors personalities have been inverted, for the sake of better protecting their memories."
It said to the family and vanished once more.
"THAT'S WHY LIZZIE WAS SO NICE!!"
Jimmy exclaimed. And Scott burst out laughing next to him.
The rest of the evening was calm, no gods, no end-of-the-world, no wars. Just Scott, his husband, and his child.
¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
I hope you enjoyed! This is the first fic in my new au that I have yet to name! (<- help please)
A few quick things:
I am by no means a writer, so this is written very badly, sorry
"Adar" is what I'm using as the elvin word for father
"Soña" is what I'm using as the word for father in whatever Jimmy's first language is (I'm just calling it oceanic)
The symbol Jimmy recognised was the watcher symbol, and the god was a watcher
If I get any personalities/story wrong, sorry. I'm trying my best
If you don't like it, don't be mean, just move on
I think thats all, more to come soon!
(ps, Jimmy, Scott, and Newt aren't the only emperers who have their memories!) <3

Part2 it is 2 just a link I swear lol

Part 3
Toran P.O.V
I watch as her face tightens up as she sleeps. King Jule said it was painful for power being released to its normal self, and the reason she needs to be sleeping. I had to make myself put her hand down by her side, and I started moving around the room.
"Toran?" Jule calls from his spot on the couch.
"I'm….how much longer?" I could hear my voice on edge.
"A couple more hours." He sighs. "The bond must be getting stronger. Did you reject her?"
"No. I can't." I rub down my face.
"Good, because you both need each other." He looks at (y/n). "She might be able to calm you down." He says this to himself.
"Shut up." We chuckle.
Over the next couple of hours I watch the sunset. (Y/n)'s whimpering has quieted down some. King Jule left, and came back just a few minutes ago. I hope she wakes up calm, and has the answers she needs.
With I sigh I walk away from the window to stand next to her bed. I watch as she starts to softly smile. It is like she is having the best dream. I chuckle at the situation, making Jule walk to my side. He gently takes hold of her hand, and after a couple moments he smiles down at her.
"She accepted her siren's side. She's getting visuals of her form." He rubs her arm. "She'll be fine."
I finally calmed down enough to steal an apple from her food tray. I move to the couch she had for me, and I just wait.
(Y/n) p.o.v
Harsh movement jerks me around left, right, upside down, turns me around, and finally I'm floating on my back as if I'm in water. Something like a curtain comes across my face. A hand takes hold of mine to steady me. Once I'm finally right side up I open my eyes to meet the most gorgeous creature. Her (h/c) hair floats so elegantly along her face, neck, and shoulder while most just floats up. I realized the curtain that ran over my face was her tail. I am completely amazed.
"(Y/n) I'm so glad to finally be one again." Her angelic voice just hits me.
"Who are you?" I finally get out, and she just giggles.
Tumblr media
"I am you. I am called Amara. I was locked away for important protection." She gives my hand a gentle squeeze. "You have the highest power of our people, and Amphitrite herself gave you the power."
"Why me?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Because you were born in the sea. Your Mother was stretching her tail, if you will, and you came earlier than anyone could predict." She giggles like she told a joke. "Everything will come together once we are united again." She backed up a bit. "Just relax a bit."
She gives one last smile before swimming around me like a tornado, and everything starts stinging my arm and legs. My body starts to contort around as fins come out of my arms, and a tail just like Amara's. I notice my gills forming as everything turns black.
When everything seems to have calmed down I open my eyes. I'm still in bed, like I had a dream. I turn my head, and I'm greeted by a pacing Toran and King Jule smiling at me. I can feel my body welcoming something, but I also felt so much worry. My eyes start to water when I look at Toran. King Jule clears his throat to get Toran's attention, and nods toward me. Toran looks at me, but gasps instead of coming to me.
"Is something wrong?" I ask, looking back and forth to them.
"I'll let you two speak." King Jule leaves.
As he walks out Toran and I just look at each other. Once the door is shut he walks with purpose toward me. I slightly sit up as he simply picks me up onto his lap. From his body heat mine just relaxes against his chest. I love how it feels to be in his arms. I can only hope he actually wants to be my mate.
"Love, I can feel your doubt." He sighs, running his hand along my back. "I suppose I should tell you why I reacted to you the way I did. As you know I'm older than you, and I hope I don't hurt you when I explain this." He rests a hand on the back of my head like he's keeping me in place. "I don't know how to begin this. Before the war started I was married to my life long friend, and we were expecting a child. King Jule was about to tell us what our baby was going to be, boy or girl. When this heavy group of humans came battling through our little town we had. King Jule told every woman and child to run as far as they could, but the humans expected that, capturing them all in cages. Us men fought the best we could." As Toran told his story he was looking off like he was picturing everything happening all over again, and I could feel his hurt. "The humans took us to what this Kingdom was, and locked us all up. I tried so hard to find my wife, but with it being so crowded it was useless. I didn't see her again until they pushed us demons into the fighting ring for their awful Hunting Games. I tried to get to her, but another female killed her. I do not blame her now because it was for survival." He finally moves his head to look down at me as tears soak my face. "Love please don't cry. I swear I only ran because I was scared. What if I can't protect you too." He holds me tighter to his chest.
"I'm so sorry you went through that, and I can't begin to understand how you feel. Even when we're connected." I can't believe he went through that, and I'm crying like it has happened to me.
We sit in this same position until I actually calm down enough to look up at him, and when I do he just smirks at me. I can feel his emotions course through me, and I tap his chest.
"I'm sitting here upset for you, and you are just…" I'm stopped by Toran kissing me.
His lips feel a lot more soft than they look. As I start to kiss him back the bond snaps us together completely, and I can't hold back my whine. He turns me to be facing him better, so I'm straddling his lap. Something runs up my spine making my body shiver, and I just feel like letting go. I push Toran to lay back as I run my hands down his chest and hard stomach. I feel him get hard making me softly grind down against him. I lean my head back, and moan. Toran stops moving his hand, and sits up, looking at me with a look of amazement.
"Someone found their siren voice." He simply says as he softly grabs my chin. "I need to make you sing more." He quickly flips us.
I giggle as he hurries to slide my dress off, and he just smiles at me before giving me a soft kiss. He kissed along my body as he undressed himself. I couldn't stop looking at his body. Once his lips made contact with my hip I arched a little, and looked at him with a gasp. He watches me as he slowly and softly runs his finger to my center. He starts to move his fingers in a circle, my eyes close as my head falls back. His fingers begin to push inside stretching up, and he pumps them fast. I didn't stop my moans as he got faster. The louder I would moan the faster he would pump his fingers. My stomach was tightening, and pulls his fingers out.
"Tor…" I was about to yell at him for stopping, but when I opened my eyes he had his fingers around himself moving my slick around.
He then grabs my legs, pushing them to my chest, and as he rubs against my opening he kisses my ankle. My soft moan is caught in my throat as he slides in completely. He sits there for a moment. He doesn't move until I whine, and I move against him. His hands move to the back of my knees to move my legs open, but keep them in the same position. With my legs open he can now lean down to kiss me deeply as he starts to very slowly move out, and then slowly move back in until his hips are connected to my ass. I hold the back of his neck as he keeps kissing me, but when he starts to ram into me. I can't help the scream I let out.
"That's what I want to hear." He groans. "Keep singing, Love."
He lets go of my legs as he leans back down, and I lock my legs around him. He softly grabs the back of my neck with one of his big hands, with his other hand he locks his fingers with mine, and holds it over our heads. I can't stop any type of moan that leaves my mouth, and from Toran's groans I think it's making him get close. I start to feel something like a wave move over my body and it makes me arch against Toran's chest. I let out a complete soul finishing moan as my orgasim takes over. Toran doesn't let up as he watches me let go, and his hold on the back of my neck tightens. As I start to come down Toran lets out a deep groan as he finishes.
He lets go of my neck letting his hand run down to my thigh, giving it a squeeze. I grip his hand as my body just moves softly under his, my foot runs up his leg, my chest rubs against his, my head falls to the side relaxed. His hand just holds my thigh to his waist just squeezing and gripping. He finally pulls back only to lay next to me.
Over the next few months I had to learn to control my power. Toran kept the title as my guard even though he could've moved on, but he decided to stay by my side. Having him as my guard does help when I need feeding. I learned my siren side is always calling to him, so it didn't surprise us when I became pregnant. While I was pregnant Toran became much more of a shadow, and would carry a basket of fruit for me. Once our son Taret was born we were shocked when he came out with demon and siren marks. As Taret grew he ended up growing more like a siren with demon power. He even got his father's horns. Sadly Taret is our only child, but once he got old enough to start classes. I became a teacher for the orphanage for the other sirens, as well as the witch children, so I became a mother to many children.

In the wondrous land of Aaz, you never know what might be lurking around the corner. There's tiger bear hybrids, blue monkey people and fairies with fishy faces. You might find fields of fragrant flowers, cities made of green glass and sand-witches smushed into jelly by foreign farmhouses from far away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was also a group of friends, one made of hay, one made of tin, one made of porcelain and two who were fur and blood. They were on their way to see a mysterious wizard in the glass city to get the things they desperately wanted, a heart, a brain and some nerve. They danced, sang songs, skipped down the yellow stone road like they were in a musical and then.....
Tumblr media
Zappy, Kruonch, Hampire, Siobhan and Zilch came soaring in from Namasis straight into the bodies of these misfit friends, their alternate counterparts. As Siobhan came to in her alternate body, she looked down at her getup and examined her pigtails. She wasn't too thrilled about her look but was excited and glad that everyone now knew that what she was telling them about the "manyverse" and Aiken Drum was true.
You didn't believe me, but here we are. I believe you owe me an apology, Zappy!
But Zappy just staggered around, unable to support himself with his wobbly, hay filled legs. Then he tried to talk, but he spoke in an unintelligible gibberish and slobbered from his mouth. Siobhan looked under his hat and to her shock saw a hole in his head revealing no brain inside!
What is this, Star Trek?
Kruonch just stood there like a statue, ironic considering that's basically what he was in this universe. Siobhan asked her father if he understood anything the scarecrow Zappy just said, but he spoke like a pompous dirtbag, appalling Siobhan.
Who cares about him, who cares about any of you! I have no feelings, no ticker in my chest. It's as hollow as Zappy's IQ!
Siobhan couldn't believe that her own father, physically and metaphorically had no heart and that Zappy had no brain to speak of, only straw and a broken broom handle as a spinal cord. As for Hampire, he stood still like Kruonch, but not for the same reason.
I have no magic in this universe! I haven't got anything. I'm a big, scared coward!
And he began to weep into his paws. Zilch, who for the first time in his life had legs to stand on, came up to Siobhan and whimpered.
THE LADLE! Where's the ladle?!
She and Zilch began searching enviously in the nearby woods and flower beds but had no luck. The stiff Kruonch pulled an can of oil off the nearby tree stump and began squirting himself with it, moving his joints around and getting in every crevice. Zappy collapsed on the yellow stone road and began squirming around trying to get back up. Hampire continued to sob buckets and wiped his eyes with his tail. As Siobhan and Zilch continued to search for the missing ladle, a large pink bubble approached them. As it dissolved, out came an odd looking good witch with fins, gills and a large wand. Her bulging, fishy eyes stared down at the baby doll and dog and she knew from the start they were in quite a dilemma.
Tumblr media
You're not from around here, are you?
Siobhan's nerves were shot, but this magical mistress did seem friendly.
No, we're not. I'm Siobhan, this is my dog Zilch and those three doofuses over there are my friends. We came here via magic ladle but it's gone and we can't find it anywhere.
The fishy fairy, forming a large grin with her large rubbery lips waved her arms in the air.
Oh, my little dot, do not fret. Your ladle has been taken by Worthiggs the Bellow Bodied. He lives in a cottage not too far from here. I'm sure he'll gladly give you the ladle.
Siobhan smiled and ran up to give the fish fairy a big hug.
Thank you, you're a lifesaver!
The fishy fairy departed in her big pink bubble as Siobhan, Zilch and the others made their way to this Worthiggs' cottage.
Come on, you pickleheads! Get a move on!
Zappy once again spoke in his gibberish as the stuck up Kruonch pushed him out of the way to get to the front of the group. Hampire nearly scraped his leg on the walkway and, you guessed it, started crying. Siobhan was rolling her eyes at her friends' new personalities and hoped that the next dimension they'd go to, they would be back to their old selves or something pretty darn close to it. They slowly approached Worthiggs' house when from afar, in a dark castle atop of spooky mountain with a hundred or so winged lemurs swarming about, a wicked witch was spying on them through her bubbling brew, her eyes set on Siobhan's footwear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That brat has my sister's scarlet shoes! I must have them!
She then summoned her lemurs, telling them to fly to Siobhan's location and bring her and her friends to the castle.
I have some fun things in store for those little pretties, and their little doggy too!

In The Shallows...Part One.
Tumblr media
Summary: @hanji-is-life more merman!Bakugo and so I shall provide! I was hoping to get this out much earlier, back in may because MerMay but better late than never I suppose! You, a marine biologist, take a scuba dive to see the local fauna off coast and you find more than you ever could've bargained for...
Word Count: 1.5.
Warnings: None but minor curses, mentions of the ocean, an illusion of drowning. Viewer discretion is advised at least.
How did you manage this?
You hadn't walked on the beach, much less roll around in the coarse substance. So how did it manage to get into your pockets? This was a new jacket so how?
A short walk from the parking garage to the pier was all it was, no beach travel involved yet it had wormed its way into your pockets, in between your toes and nearly everywhere else.
Your team chuckles at your discomfort finding your squirming the funniest thing on the planet as they loaded up the sizable vessel for the day on the water. For the past several weeks you had been cooped up in a lab studying the samples others brought to you but now you were given the green light to head out into the field yourself. Your goal for the day was to gather samples, check on the status of the coral nursery, and a checklist of other menial tasks. A full plate all things considered, much better than getting a migraine staring through a microscope at sea water until you either give up or get sent home.
Waves battered against the hull of the boat while you and your fellow colleagues suit up in scuba gear. The goal wasn't to go to the bottom of the ocean, far from it, fifteen meters was the maximum for today so simple snorkeling hear wouldn't cut it. You didn't get your diving certifications to be stuck in a lab. The salt spray refreshing against your skin for the few seconds it was vulnerable while you changed from your outfit into the designated wetsuit. Not the full suit that covered your body from head-to-toe, just a body one to keep your core warm when your swimsuit didn't offer much protection.
The boat came to a stop right around where the GPS locator dinged where the nursery site was and the captain gave everyone a thumbs up as you and your fellows attached their fins, tanks, SPG's and all the other necessary equipment. One-by-one each of them held their regulators to their mouths and fell back into the blue ocean below until it was your own, to which you received a wink instead while everything turned upside down.
Ten, twenty, thirty, a hundred. Regardless of how many dives you've had you'll never get over the beauty of the reefs. Each time serving something new, change was ever present in your line of work. Never seeing the same specimens twice to witnessing a rare species and everything in between. The sunshine overhead casting glittering ripples on the sandy floor, catching your eye on the schools of fish that swam by as their scales gleamed in different patterns. This was the closest feeling you had ever come to your childhood dream of becoming a mermaid. When you wished on your birthday candles and shooting stars to holding your breath underneath tub water in hopes gills would magically appear. That's what started this career. Maybe it was a long forgotten portion of your evolved brain from life's time in the ocean but you felt at home, a familiar sense of belonging that you didn't have on dry land. This was where you were meant to be but sadly your wishes had never come true and you were cursed to remain a land-dwelling mammal.
The beeping in your ears ripped you from your fantastical daydreams to remind you of the harsh reality. This is as close as you were going to get but that wasn't so bad, it was better having a little than nothing at all. Looking at the gauge meter it showed that you have roughly an hour left of oxygen which meant you had been in the water for an hour already. How time flies when you're having fun, absorbed in your daydreams, and checking on coral and taking samples.
"Hey, could we switch our tanks out without getting oxygen narcosis or are we screwed in that department?" Your voice came over the radio built in the full face masks everyone in the diving team used no doubt scaring those who were lost in thought as you just were.
"Y/N...do you really want to stay out here longer? Shitting Christ, you should be glad you're out here in the first place!" The captain's voice responded from the safety of the boat. "Now get your asses back up here n' we'll head on ba-...what was that?"
"What was what?"
A chorus of responses chimed in immediately after, some crackling from the distance they were from the source and others sounding as if they were a foot away.
"Nothing, never mind, must've been a Manta Ray. Forget about it. Just get your shit and come back, I'm gettin' hungry and its close to lunchtime so hurry up." The static cut off as he put down the radio and looked out into the churning ocean. The massive shadow he had just seen passing by the boat putting him on alert, he didn't want to witness any reef shark's feeding frenzy.
"We can come back tomorrow, Y/N. Nothing's stopping us from that, right?" Another voice, one of your favorite colleagues suggested. That was right, you were there and your boss hadn't explicitly said that this was a one time thing. Another visit would do some good to see if the biometrics have changed in a span of twenty-four hours.
"Alright, okay, we'll come back later for a differential test."
The group had a collective sigh of relief. You were notorious for loving the ocean to such a degree you'd do anything to stay in a while longer, they were all content with leaving now and coming back later if it meant they wouldn't see your sad pouting all the way back to the van. Picking up their equipment and vials everyone began swimming back to the boat now most of them making small talk and discussing their plans for the weekend while you were once again lost in your thoughts.
Something impossibly dark darted through your vision. Blocking out the beautiful view of the turquoise water and colorful life like an angry, ominous storm cloud. A blanket of blindness shrouding all light for a moment but it felt like an eternity as dread sunk in the pit of your stomach, anchoring you to the spot. The warm water now felt cold, goosebumps running up your bare arms and thighs like pinpricks. The heart that had been so calm in the home of your ribcage now pushing adrenaline through your bloodstream, adjusting to a state you weren't acting on. Fear. That wasn't a Manta Ray or a comically large Stingray that was something else entirely. A predator that crashed against the fragile cage of safety, security and believing you were untouchable in shallow depths.
You were reminded of the psychologically scarring and irrational fear of one's ankles being grabbed particularly in the ocean by a shark, the part of your lizard brain firing signals all across your synapses to detach the leg. If only. A fair trade, being left alone at the price of a limb but unfortunately humans couldn't detach or regrow whatever they lost.
That fear was horrifically evoked when something far more firm than a limp leaf of seaweed wrapped around your ankle. Slimey, cold as death and tipped with five sharp points. Reminiscent of a hand, a very large hand. Expanding across your bare skin like a calloused cuff that threatened to break the skin, sink into the meat and tear your foot off entirely. However, that didn't seem to be happening. No cloud of your own blood instead the safety of the boat got further and further away, turning into a speck barely seen in the shallow water.
"Wait, wait no! What the fuck?! Let go! What the hell?" When your brain managed to get over its fear and shock of the situation your fight-or-flight instincts kicked into high gear and your body began to thrash around against the hold. If it was a shark hitting it in the snout and eyes was imperative to get it to release but what if it wasn't? What else could possibly have your leg in its grip with a goal of pulling you away from the boat?
A flurry of indistinguishable voices and noises came over the radio. From yelps, screams and to curses but the thudding in your ears and the furious splashes drowned them all out, everything became topsy turvy, what was the bottom of the ocean and what was the surface became an abstract concept. The primal urge to escape was ripped away when the respirator giving you oxygen was unceremoniously and harshly ripped from your mouth, the hand that had done it orange and black. The water was salty, like you had dumped an entire container of table salt into your mouth and you washed it down with a sip of water. It was invasive, slipping down your throat into your lungs as they tried to gulp air instead. The more you inhaled the harder it was to move. Your limbs becoming as heavy as cement bricks. Unconsciousness began to consume everything, your body down to your mind. The eerie sensation of falling was the last thing before everything faded to black...

Storm in my mind.
(Merman au)
Tumblr media
Santana had always wanted to know the surface since childhood, but was never allowed or given the opportunity to do so.Until he became an adult and in one fateful day he was rescued by that human. And contrary to what his former master had told him, Y /n was someone kind and trustworthy.
After visiting Y/n over and over again, and seeing the wonders of the human land they showed him, Santana wondered if there was a way to make this easier... what if he had legs?
The redhead had no reason to be a merman. His family? They abandoned him long time ago. Food? The land food was so much better and easier to get and now that he had someone who was significant to him on land, there was no reason anymore for him to remain at sea. He was determined to become a human.
Santana had known Y/n for a little over a year. The merman didn't have much knowledge about romance or that stuff involving relationships, he was just following his instincts. And those instincts told him that Y/n was the right person he wanted to share his life with. He had made a decision, he was going to ask Y/n to be his mate, but he wanted to surprise them. He wanted to be there with his new legs, he wanted to be able to lift Y/n in his arms like in the movies he had watched when he had visited the human's home.
Santana knew that Kars had a secret room in the temple where he lived. And in that room there were several hamulets and potions where they could have a varied effect, and he was sure he had seen something like "metamorphosis to human". As much as he hated that place. he had to go back, it would all be worth it when he returned to the surface. When he returned to his beloved Y/n.
Sneakly he entered the submerged Palace and unlike the time he had left that place, there was full of mermen, but these mermen were completely beside themselves, as if they were being controlled. Santana decided to disguise himself as one of them and quickly managed to infiltrate the rooms of his masters and "brother".
Finally finding the spot where Kars hid the mystical artifacts, he searched for something that could turn him into a human, or at least give him legs, even if he still had his gills and was still dependent on water. He wanted to be able to walk, to be able to run after Y/n.
Someone had entered that place, which made the merman apprehensive. Santana tried to hide but even though he was hidden in the shadows, a voice spoke directly to him.
"Reveal yourself my son, I know you're here." Kars said in his authoritative voice but in a calm tone. "Do you really think I wouldn't recognize the fins of one of those I raised?"
Santana said nothing, just watched as the purple tentacles swayed from side to side. He knew that Kars was planning something. But the only thing he could think about was finding a way out of there.
Kars clicks his tongue in displeasure. He tells Santana that everything was fine, and that he wasn't going to do anything to him, just wanting to talk. Santana, still in a fearful posture, approaches a little to Kars, who smiles at him.
"I'm glad you still trust me, my child."
"I just came here to get something. You won't have to worry about me being a burden to you or anyone else anymore!" He quickly makes his way but Kars stops him. "Why the rush Santana? I said I want to talk!"
This time his voice was rougher, as if he was ordering the redhead to stay right where he was.Kars' attitude only motivates Santana to want to leave that place even more. The purple-haired merman sighs trying to get the younger one's attention again.
Kars' attitude only motivates Santana to want to leave that place even more. The purple-haired merman sighs trying to get the younger one's attention again.
"Are you sure that human has the same intentions you have for them?"
Kars' words make Santana pause for a moment. The red haired merman turns and looks at the older one with a pissed scowl on his face.
"Oh? So you haven't told them about your feelings yet?" Kars lets out a mocking laugh. "Do you really think Y/n will want you, even though they know what a freak you are?"
Santana shouts at Kars to shut up but he just laughs louder and continues.
"Don't kid yourself. Y/n has better options like that blond friend of theirs."
"They are exactly what you said, just friends!"
"Hm? Are they?" Kars pulls one of the artifacts he contained in that room, a white orb, like a giant pearl. And when he touches that, the object starts to glow and show images.
Y/n and Ceasar were on the boat that was also their and Mr Zeppelli's home. It was night and the two were alone, Y/n was laughing at something that ceasar had told her as he rubbed the back of his neck with a slight blush on his cheeks. At that moment a cold wind hits them both and Y/n recoils a little while Ceasar grabs them a coat and wraps his hand over their shoulder to help them warm up, like the good gentleman he always was. But in Santana and Kars' view it was a sign that there was something between them. Something Santana couldn't have with Y/n.
"Oh poor child, you don't know anything about humans and already want to become one?" Gradually the mood in the room grew darker, and the rings that adorned Kars' tentacles took on a hypnotic glow. "Y/n's heart was kind enough to save you, but there's no place in it for you either!"
Santana's heart began to sink, in his mind he was starting to not be sure of anything anymore. He just wanted some time to think alone, time to be able to talk directly to Y/n. But Kars' words were invading his ears and digging into his mind.
"Humans also cheat, which guarantees they would love you forever? And after they left you? What would you do?"
Kars runs his hands through Santana's hair. Giving him some comfort while the redhead lost himself in his doubts.
"After all, family is the only thing you left. You must have disobeyed me and been punished with loneliness, but that doesn't mean we've abandoned you, my child. "
Santana continued to stare at the orb as he watched the two humans interact. How did someone like him think he would be worthy of Y/n's love?
"They just felt pity for you!"
And with these words,Santana was already completely under Kars' control. Seeing now the young merman's state he sees Esidisi was already at the door and watching what was happening. In displeasure with the other pillar merman who said he would never use his hypnotic power on one of them. But Esidisi didn't say anything about it, he just accepted Kars' attitudes without saying anything, but seeing Santana in that state gave him a pang in the chest.
"What do you intend to do with him in this state?" Esidisi question.
"Nothing directly to him, but we need to get this human scum out of him at once. Bring Y/n over here. Santana dared to break into my home and steal one of my belongings, I'm going to teach him a lesson."
...
On the balcony, Y/n looked at the infinity of the sea, thinking where the red-haired merman could be. The last time they met, he had said he wanted to talk about something very important, but when he arrived at the time he had arranged, Santana didn't come.
"I hope nothing happened to you..." With a hand on their chest they prayed the merman was okay, Y/n knew the dangers a merman could face on a daily basis and hoped that Santana was just late.

Freedom Arc Start
Gaster was forced to relive that period of his life, over and over. At first, it felt like a coma dream, one he couldn’t escape or even wake up from. The only main difference after a while, was Chatch seemed happier each time, but also only seemed to get more bored as he realized Gaster had slowly grew immune to seeing this constantly over and over. It wasn’t exactly a great memory, but when done a lot again and again, it loses its effect as a mental torture method and becomes just a sorrowful one, especially when he couldn’t do anything to convince or stop Vedran from going, or even himself. Chatch would force him out anyways. The more bored Chatch got, though, the longer it took for it to happen again, until it suddenly stopped one time, and Gaster was finally allowed to wake up from what felt like a coma after a while.
As he started to come to consciousness, he could hear muffled voices that grew louder as he started to fully wake up. As the voices became more clear, Gaster recognized the female voice from right before he passed out, now acting shocked and excited.
“He’s awake! He’s awake!” Gaster opens his eyes, to see the owner of the voice closer, and pretty much towering over him. It was a young goat monster, a teen to be more specific. She was wearing some purple robe with some white crest on the chest. He blinked a few times, and she smiled, backing up a bit to allow him to sit up. “You’re alright!”
He sits up, holding his head, noticing he was laying in an actual bed rather than his makeshift one he had before. “Yeah- I am.” He mumbles, glancing around. He notices a monster leaning on the wall and smiling at him, his guess of the ‘teacher’, but didn’t pay too much attention to him at that moment. He also noticed his old ‘lab rat’ clothes, as he called them, was swapped out with a black robe that had a white crest, just like the girl’s but a different color. He checked out his clothes enough for the girl to comment on it.
“We gave you some new clothes since your old ones had… Blood on them and didn’t seem like something anyone would… Normally wear… We gave you something better to help!” She says, unsure at first, but then smiles at the end. Not normal huh? At least the fabric is soft in these clothes… He thought to himself.
“Thanks.” He replies, but says nothing else, and looks at his hand, which was bandaged up. It was also probably badly cracked but at least still usable. That’s something.
He went to get up, using his hand to lift him out of the bed, causing it to hurt and him to wince. He pulled it back in reaction, holding it in his other hand as he examines it, a bit frightened by the sudden pain. The girl seemed to jump at this too, getting a bit frantic.
“Oh you shouldn’t be using that it’s still damaged!” She says, a little panicky compared to just a minute ago. “Let me see your hand for a second.” He hesitates, but then slowly holds out his hand to her, which she gently takes in her paws. Her paws gain a green aura as the pain starts to slowly fade. “There!” She exclaims and lets go. “Shouldn’t hurt too much right now, but you’ll need to be careful with it until it properly heals.”
Gaster pulls his hand closer to him, looking at it a bit. Healing magic… “Thanks… again.” He mumbles.
“I should introduce myself, shouldn’t I? I’m Toriel! Toriel Proto! It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She says, giving a smile. Her panic a bit ago seems to have faded away by now. Gaster hesitates to introduce himself.
“I'm… Gaster. The name’s Gaster.” He says looking down. His first name was Wingdin of course, but now, he doesn’t want to use it as much anymore. It holds memories that hurt. The only person to call him by that name is now dead. It didn’t feel… Right anymore. Then again… Nothing seemed to. His whole world was flipped on its side.
“Well it is nice to meet you Gaster!” Toriel says, and what Gaster guessed was the teacher stops leaning on the wall and walks over. Gaster actually paid attention to what the other monster even looked like finally. It was a fish monster. He was mainly white scaled but had blackish-blue blemishes, and a black stripe down his back. Fins where his ears should be and a few gills on each side of his neck was also something Gaster noticed about him. He had a few scars on his sleeveless arms and one on his cheek. Looked tough to Gaster but also strange. He really doesn’t know too many monster species since Vedran didn’t have time.
“Name’s Gaster? Well it’s nice to meet ya! The name’s Nomeus Gronovii! Just call me Nomeus.” He had a wide grin as he crossed his arms and pointing at himself with one of his thumbs, not seeming all that menacing or threatening really, even with all the scars and terrifying looks he can probably give. Gaster just nodded, not really up to talking more than he has to. “So how old are ya?”
“U-uh 18 I should be…” He mumbles. That’s what Vedran told him at least. Then again, Gaster’s world was mostly centered around what Vedran had told and taught to Gaster. It’s not really a surprise though. He told him most of what he knows.
“Can ya do any magic?” He asks, which feels a bit random for Gaster. Nomeus’s face turns to a bit more serious one. “Normally most monsters should know by now. You’re a teen so you’re magic should be more stable to use then a kid’s.”
“Yeah, I can do some things with it.” It brought back some not so great memories on trying to think of all of the things he can do at the moment. Bones, blue bones, heal, some blue soul one, teleport, glow… He listed them in his head. He could do a lot but it wouldn’t be wise to do too much of it at one time… We’ve already seen what that does to a point.
“Neato!” His big grin returned at this moment, only to disappear as he got more serious again. “Good thing ya do. There seems to be a new tension rising. I’d stay clear of any humans. They haven’t been very nice recently like they use to.”
“I’ll remember that…” Not like Gaster already planned that before. “So… Where are we exactly?” He asks Nomeus. Nomeus perks up and smiles at the question.
“The Royal Magic School! I’m the teacher here, appointed by the king. For all the monsters that live around the castle area. We’re off hours now though.” Nomeus explained, surprising Gaster a bit. The… King? For around the castle area? How far was the lab from everything? Then again, where is it? “Miss Toriel here found ya cause she was trying to show me something she found, but I guess we’ll leave that for later now. Gotta take care of ya and so far it looks like you’re fine now.” Toriel suddenly lit up as she got an idea, gasping with a smile. She turns to Nomeus.
“Why don’t we enroll him here? It’ll help out since the tension recently and we can still make sure he’s alright!” She suggests, giving Gaster a shock. Nomeus apparently didn’t have to think as he smiled.
“Sounds like an alright idea to me! Whatcha say Gaster? You’re the one that says whether or not this happens.” He asks, putting Gaster in a small spot of pressure on his decision. He didn’t know what to expect. It can’t be too bad right? Only gains from this? If any, only a few consequences? He hesitated to even say anything.
“S-sure. Sounds n-nice.” Whether that was a lie or not, Gaster was a bit unsure himself. Whether he regretted that choice, it would be found out later…
A while later, Gaster was showed around the school a bit, which wasn’t all that big surprisingly. It was mostly outside, which wasn’t too much a surprise with it being a magic school, a big classroom, and a few rooms like the nurse’s office at the front area, which is also where Gaster was being taken care of. Most of the areas were pretty typical for a school, of course. It wasn’t till after Nomeus began to ask where Gaster lived. He expected he lived in the area or something obviously if he was letting him enroll here.
“So where’s your place?” Nomeus asks, turning to face Gaster but now walking backwards. Gaster stares at the ground as he walks, holding his arm for comfort. This question was bound to be asked sometime.
“I-I uh, don’t really live anywhere…” Gaster’s voice was a bit quiet, but still audible at least. Nomeus was but surprised by his answer, but smiled.
“Nowhere huh? That’s alright! Explains a bit on ya being in the woods like that, even if not that far in. No parents then I’m guessing?” Nomeus asks and Gaster just shakes his head, stiffening a bit at the thought. Nomeus took a minute to think. “I’ll take ya in then! Then again, with your consent, ‘course.” Gaster looked up in surprise, stopping and both Nomeus and Toriel did too. “So what’ll it be? I’ll let ya take as long as ya need to decide.” It didn’t sound too bad an idea to Gaster… Better than surviving alone or something.
“I- s-sure.” He said sheepishly and smiled a bit at them. He took a breath to regain his composure. Thanks to his magic making hidden lungs to power his body with oxygen and even give him working, liquid blood, he was able to do these things and he was a bit glad for it. The magic even made the stuff unseeable, but it’s there, just hidden so it’s less magic needed.
“Hey! Ya smiled kiddo!” Nomeus randomly shouted, at least to Gaster, which took the skeleton by surprise. He lost his composure all over again.
“I-I u-uh…” He was shaking a bit, he hadn’t realized how comfortable he felt around these people who were trying to genuinely help him. He really didn’t want to. Another relationship of any kind with someone, friendship or fatherly or even love which he doesn’t understand or know too much even with Vedran trying to explain, it felt… scary to him. He didn’t want what happened with Vedran to happen again. He didn’t want to get attached and to lose that person again. Before he did understand how devastating it can be, but now, he completely does and wants to avoid it at all costs. Even if he made a friend, or bond like these two now, he definitely won’t get as attached as he did Vedran.
“Lighten up! It’s a good thing!” With all that thinking and worry, Gaster never realized Nomeus had came around to pat him on the back. “More ya smile, the less people worry and as they say, the longer you’ll live! Whether it’s true or not, who knows!” He gave Gaster a big grin, and a few seconds later, Gaster weakly smiles too. “Now it’s time to take ya to my place!” Nomeus says and randomly picks up Gaster, slinging the now frightened skeleton over his shoulder.
“Wh- w-wait!” Gaster says in a panic as he gets picked up. Toriel giggles where Gaster can see until Nomeus turns to her.
“Can ya get home on your own? I don’t wanna leave ya here if ya can’t.”
“I will be fine! Just take care of Gaster.” She says, still giggling a bit. Nomeus nods, looking at the skeleton over his shoulder.
“Hang on or you’re gonna end up meeting the ground kid!” Nomeus says with a big, worrying grin as he begins to run towards his place as fast as he can, Gaster doing as told and hanging on best as he can from that position. Toriel waves at the now screaming, and probably crying, skeleton as the two head off to Nomeus’s home.
