enamored by characters whose mental state is reflected in their physical form and what it is saying that their rage, grief, and fear, no matter how justified, still turns them into something viewed by others as monstrous. shapeshifters whose human appearance is held together by a single thread, and when they lose control, the mask comes off and all that's left exposed is their raw, unfiltered self.

and this self has been there the whole time, held down by the pressure to look human and act human and believe they're human, but when it comes out, everyone else thinks it's something new and terrifying that came from nowhere. one thing nice about working with kids is that I'm able to normalize my disability around them. they ask me why I need my walker, so I explain in simple terms that it helps me put weight on something other than my legs, and they just say "oh, okay." and move on.

as a disabled person it feels heartbreaking to me that adults are encouraged to avoid the topics of disability with children and not provide context. children are much smarter than many adults perceive them to be, and often just a simple explanation of disability helps them understand and normalize it. they don't ask me consistently what's wrong or if I'm okay, because they just know that's a part of my daily life. and it's so refreshing compared to the adults who seem to pity me.

children can handle these topics and when we normalize them at a young age it makes it easier for them to process it as an adult, I wish people realized that.

Actually, as much as the main plot in Requiem drives me crazy, that set of scenes where they're all sitting around in the Residence and remiscing is very on point for what happens at the end of funeral receptions.

The formalities are over, everyone has relaxed a bit, and it's still bittersweet, but you're allowed to breathe and remember and tell your stories.

hey when black and white remakes eventually come out. do you think it'd be good if they redesigned the characters?

bdsp not doing it was So disappointing bc like. bw is pretty much where the modern pokemon design philosophy got established right? sinnoh was the last region to have, imo, overall kinda Eh designs yknow, it would have been so nice to have them updated. but the bw designs are already really good i dont know how or even why you'd revamp any of them. i think i'd personally not want them to tbh, as fun as seeing the oras redesigns was for me
