I know it’s been a bit since you’ve done Ulthane stuff (I think), but do you have any tips on how to draw him? I’m still trying to get him right and I’m struggling so hard 🥹

Ulthane has such a complicated facial structure, and I've gotten used to drawing him in my own sort of way, so this isn't a 'how to draw Ulthane accurate to the game' tutorial, lol.

I've just made a few sketches with the process of how I draw his face. A simple 3/4 view is usually the easiest to practice with.

If you don't mind me asking what stitch are you using for it? I would love to try something like this in the future when I get better at crocheting myself and the stitch you used makes such nice looking pixels! Apologies if this was just stated somewhere previously ;w;

As for the stitch it's called corner to corner or c2c, it's basically just making little boxes so it's perfect for pixel art stuff :D

New craft alert! After some successful candy canes and an abandoned bird skull I tried my hand at a slightly more ambitious spun cotton ornament in the shape of my aunt's late dog. It was a lot of fun and low-cost enough i could justify it to myself (even if i abandon the hobby immediately like i always do, all i really bought were some cotton balls; everything else I needed I already had)

All in all a pretty successful fourth first try!

I realized I had forgotten to swatch for the button hole before starting the second sleeve. And an Hour later I have a swatch with 8 button holes before I got happy with how they look. The pattern basically says "make buttonhole" and I'm not experienced enough with garment knitting to go on just that.

I did manage to confirm that despite sizing up my yarn, I'm still going to need 1 inch/25mm buttons. I don't currently have 6 matching 25mm buttons that would look good with this yarn, so decisions have to be made. And unfortunately my brain has decided the best possible button would be a rose gold coloured shank back(?) button preferably that looks like an actual flower. Which, good luck to me for finding that relatively affordably.

I think I'm just going to knit the cardigan and decide once it's all sewn up. If it fits well and I think I'll wear it, I'll spend the money to get Nice buttons.

hey! this is really sweet, thank you so much for the compliment!! i'm not the best at writing out tutorials or anything, but i am happy to share some that i definitely found useful when i was getting back into gif making during the pandemic.

so this tutorial for beginners by @hayaosmiyazaki is pretty fundamental! it's the one i rec to everybody. it's a few years old now, so some of the links might not be active anymore for all i know, but it does a wonderful job going through the ENTIRE process start to finish.

@saw-x also has a solid tutorial for beginners that has some more great explainers, especially about sizing and ratios for tumblr posting.

here's a beginner's guide to channel mixer by @aubrey-plaza which really helped ME out because tbh i went several years not using this layer feature bc i was so intimidated by it. don't be me!!

@aubrey-plaza also has another great tutorial on how to fix orange-washed coloring ESPECIALLY on poc actors. similarly, @ augustds has a tutorial on how to spot and stop whitewashing poc in gifs.

and then you can always go through my #tutorial tag to find any other posts i thought were worthwhile for myself to save!

regarding your other question, i'm gonna be honest, i'm not even sure how giphy fits into this question, so i guess?? my advice would be: don't use giphy. i have photoshop and save all gifs to my files (instructions available in the first tutorial) and then upload them to tumblr directly. i typically delete my gif files after posting them, but if i ever need to find/save them again for whatever reason, i find the post, open the gif in a new tab, delete the "v" at the end of "gifv" in the url, and then refresh the page. this should let you save the gif as is and you can post it elsewhere if needed.

It's pretty good for lips, eyes, blending in dark and light colors, also for shading!! Also im working on a Elita doodle too! U kinda inspired me to do so lol! But im still starting to draw also so I'll be really happy that when I post it (if i have the guts) you will give me some advice?? Like yk colors, shading, brushes-All that stuff if You can!

For me personally, what I do, is find a song or album I like and listen to it, depending on my mood. Say, for my latest arcee piece, I listened to more hyperpop and cutesy music, inspiring her more neon colors. Then, for the actual art process, I do a sketch, do the base colors and then edit them. I'll post a full tutorial ome day, but to get an "anime feely" kinda thing, I take a light blue and cover the entire canvas, then I set it to "Exclusion" in the blending modes, and it makes it look dreamy and it also makes all the colors fit better together.

Then I shade, highlight, and then, I make a new layer from the canvas and render it from that singular layer all together. I add more shading and composition later too sometimes.

Unfinished sketches are my passion lately aren't they lol, this is an older WIP that I touched up. After seeing the first trailer for Death Island I thought Claire should be wearing her "Sniper" outfit from the ending of Revelations 2, I included some elements from her RE2R version (including her face model).

For Jill I had made an original design but since there were some cool concept artworks of her (the long skirt one being my favorite), I decided to go with one of her concept art designs.

I hope Capcom gives Jill and Claire some ACTUAL love... I feel they are neglected and underestimated as beloved characters...

I bought Katamari Damacy, played it for 15-20 hours, and completed every level before I figured out how to turn. I was just flailing on the control sticks and hoping the katamari would bless me with going in a useful direction. And using the 180 degree turn, which I did remember how to do.

This might make things a bit easier.
