OFMD S2 EP 4-5: Izzy Hands (from a S1 Izzy fan)

I'll admit. I teared up at the Izzy shit in ep 1-3. Not a full-blown cry. But close. I was stressed, and tired, and hurt more than anything. I only cried in my car driving home. It hit, but it was more prolonged.

Do you know what got me crying? Izzy opened that letter, revealing 'For The New Unicorn'. He looks up and smiles. I went from 0-100 dry eyes to crying in seconds. I had to rewatch it because HELL.

The entire episode, hell, debatably from (S1ep4) we see Izzy go through it. Socially isolated and losing his identity. Leading up to S2ep4. Drunk and sad and heartbroken. He tries his best to stay afloat without a lifejacket as his self crumbles around him. He doesn't care anymore. He thinks his life is over. He lashes out because there's no one there to help him.

BUT THEN THE LEG. He cried and I cried during both scenes.

BECAUSE HE IS CARED ABOUT AND HE CAN HEAL!

GOD, and the way that leads into EPISODE 5. Izzy slicked his hair back and regaining some of his own personal identity. Izzy genuinely bantering with Stede, and gently helping him to be a better Captain. The way he desperately asks Stede if Ed said anything else nice about him? Showing that. Yeah, he's not all the way there yet, but he's working on it. The training scene where Izzy just looks on in fascinated horror at Stede's skills? THE LITTE OKAY HANDSIGNAL AT THE END WHEN STEDE USED HIS GRUFF VOICE? He smiles, and jokes, and TRIES. Izzy is pissed, obviously, but he's getting there.

He is kind and caring, all WHILE STILL BEING A PRICK? Him being a total nerd during the curse monologue? Izzy mutters 'rude' and pointedly crosses his legs as Stede ruins the vibe. I laughed harder at Izzy sitting at that desk than I did at most of the jokes in the show. THAT'S MY FUCKING BASTARD!! I'm so happy I saw a character and have been rewarded by showing, yes. He is kind, and trying, but he needs to learn to let himself become new.

I fucking love him. I can tell from the teaser that Izzy is just going to grow closer with the crew (and with himself) and I can't wait. (Even if it means his imminent capture, whoops).

I do think they'll do something with Izzy/Lucius, at least a single happy (Izzy no longer holding himself back from wanting) consensual kiss or genuine discussion about life(post-wedding) to show their growth as characters because I had to pause with the cig and shark interaction. Jesus Christ. I didn't really ship it before, but they are so snarky and it's great.

I'm a bit sad as Izzy's current arc likely means he might not get the big 'fuck you' moment of anger to Ed that Lucius got. Mainly because Con would make me cry, but If Izzy is genuinely just shoving this shit down, ignoring the years that Ed ignored his existence, then...idk.

They purposefully gave Izzy and Ed no scenes and thank god we get a TINY break. Because Ed will try to patch things up, and I don't think it works like that with Izzy. He needs proof that Ed is trying. Add to that Ed ACTUALLY saying sorry to him, and not expecting Izzy to immediately accept it(my theory as to why Lucius pointed it out: Ed will ACTUALLY say sorry to Izzy and mean it. This will heal something for Izzy, and hell). I can't wait for Ed to come back and see him. See him for who he is, a silly prick who is loyal to a fault, who is loved.

This is likely the happiest two episodes we'll get, and fuck, I loved them both SO MUCH. After a rewatch I'll write about the crew. Ed/Stede is actually working for me as we watch them both learn, and Fuck, Lucius/Pete...my darlings.

NOW FOR THE TEASER:

THE IDEA OF SEEING CON IN DRAG AGAIN MAKES ME SO HAPPY! Especially what it means for Izzy. Izzy lets his hair down and has fun with Wee John as he explores what actually makes him happy. Hell, him opening up to being a bit of a masochist as a joke while tied up is...actually my favorite thing (while obvious, given his propensity to put Ed before him in all matters, Izzy casually mentioning 'I like to be roughed a bit up' in front of the crew is the type of openness about himself that I crave). Izzy "cocksuckers" Hands letting himself joke about SEX-GAY SEX(probably)- Kill me now.

(To clarify: I don't think he or Ed ever got off to the abuse, hell, we see Ed flinch away when Anne/Mary do it. That's not the face of someone who knows what that's like as the Sadist).

I just love the way Izzy has so obviously relaxed into a person that he'd never let exist. Hell. I hope Izzy gets to rub this happier version of himself RIGHT in Edward's sad face. I need a 'he was never like this with me' moment of Ed watching Izzy SMILE to parallel Izzy's jealousy in S1.

Con obviously loves this character, you can see it in the performance. He fills the role perfectly, from his ups to his downs. Con smiles and hell, that's not Con, that's Izzy fucking Hands. Striding along proudly pretending his world isn't changing, because it is, and he is healing and I LOVE IT.

I am so proud of our growing Izzy loving community. For some, we've been through a lot of shit. Probably in life, and hell, maybe even in this fandom. Even if you haven't been harassed, you loved Izzy, you saw yourself in him, and I hope you felt the show giving us a big fucking hug.

We grow, we recover, and hell. We get a happy fucking ending (with a few yet-to-be-seen bumps in the road).

So... I have an answer, and it's kind of in layers. So I hope it's fine if I kind of go on Journey TM where I figure out my own feelings on the topic alongside you, the person reading! It's long! Kind of meandery! Sorry!!

Also, I had written a great version of this reply to this ask that Tumblr fucking ate and I'm furious about it, so this version is slightly more annoyed as a baseline because of Tumblr and not the ask itself. But I got stubborn and decided I would rewrite the whole thing tonight. So.

Here we go.

Layer One: My Basic and Unfiltered Gut Reaction

My first, potentially unwarranted gut-level reaction would be: I kind of think it's a stretch to consider them POC-coded. Sonia gives me more tanned Ariana Grande vibes than anything else, but that's... I mean, I'm aware that there are brown people with lushious blonde hair and blue eyes out there, that race as USA-infused Internet understands it is Complicated (I'm half-brazilian, and even though I'm very very white and don't consider myself biracial but bicultural, I had people discussing my ethnicity to my face a non-zero amounts of time, including quite recently, including in my own family! so I super get that it's more complicated than what I make it out to be here). But given vibes don't count as an argument, I completely get + accept if that reading on her ethicity is therefore dismissed. She could very well be brown. Fine by me.

(so, I feel like I have to add this borderline-conspiratory reason why I'm suspicious of her skin color being considered a factor here, which can 100% be dismissed but I still want to bring it to the table: I've been to several meetings and heard about many instances where "diverse traits" are being handed over to characters with the explicit purpose of using that diversity as shields against deeper criticisms of core aspects of the storytelling instead of fixing the storytelling itself, and honestly it could very well be the case here. I really hope it's just the team thinking Sonia would be prettier with a darker skin tone, because her design is genuinely lovely and I really like it, wish she didn't die like immediately and had a character arc of her own, but. Imagine the kneeling scene with two very white ladies and everything else, etc. It might be overly paranoid of me, but I can't help but squint a little bit in this specific instance, especially since the biracial trait here is so toned-down that it's barely there and barely committed to anything. Which would also make a good argument against this suspicion too tbh! Anyway. Just wanted to bring that up so you get the whole picture of where my brain is at.)

Rauru... Okay. Here's the thing: I can't unsee The Rauru. The original one I mean (and his Skyward Sword Gaebora counterpart), aka: the White Patriarch of all times.

(this has nothing to do with anything but Link's little recoil animation here is so funny to me, like he looks so shocked and his nose is so pointy)

I do think that removing the origins of this character from his DNA for TotK is kind of overly convenient when discussing this iteration, especially when his role in this game is basically a mixture of OoT Rauru and the Unnamed King of Hyrule (and every king of Hyrule that came after). I mean, okay sure maybe the Unnamed, Unseen King of Hyrule wasn't white but... it's obviously not true, right? And while I understand this is a different iteration of that character, many characters in the series maintain their base ethnicity across different reimaginings (even Blue Pig Ganon remains a gerudo at heart post OoT, at least in the way we keep on understanding him). And beyond this, given the fact that Rauru retains this energy of a Founding Father (in the largest possible sense), I feel that, at the very least, that patriarchal energy is extremely important to his character to a core degree.

But even so, yes. Rauru is now indeed a Goat Man. Not only is he a Goat Man, but he dresses in ways that are very inspired by mesoamerican cultures; undeniably so. So that would make him at least mesoamerican-coded, right?

I mean... I guess? I guess. Sure. But. I have now to introduce the Layer 2 of my argumentation, which is that...

Layer Two: Zonai Culture is Hylian Coded

So. Pretty bold claim I know. Let me explain.

Now I certainly do not want to say that mesoamerican civilizations are not *everywhere* in the aesthetic inspiration for the zonai culture in Tears of the Kingdom; I'm sure these real life references are overflooding the moodboards, from the color palet to the symbols to the artstyle, the costumes and the buildings. It's the main way the game communicates zonai-ness to us the player. And it's great! I wish they had went even harder in that direction (I think there's even pretty dramatic differences between the zonai ruins on the surface, much more interesting imo, than what was done with the actual zonai architecture at its peak).

But now, I will ask a question that I asked myself often while playing. What is zonai culture, beyond the feathers and the indented patterns and the swirls and the dangly bits? What characterizes it? I would say that zonai civilization is primarily interested in automation, technology, mining to develop said technology, and things that float in the sky. Beyond this, and from the limited perspective the game gives us through Rauru and Mineru, we see a society ruled by a patriarch (neutral term, it is just patriarchal in nature), married to a woman who is a priestess and doesn't seem to hold an equal amount of power (she doesn't speak as much, seems content to handle the religious side of things), who values collaboration and engineering prowesses, has an army, servants, robot servants, administrates other races through, to be docile and go the game's way, collaborativeness... It's Hyrule. It's just Hyrule, except older and with a different paintjob; but at heart, the style of society upheld by Rauru is very (eerily?) similar to what we get to know in the TotK/BotW era. Actually, this version of Hyrule seems extraordinarily similar to the Hyrule we get to see in BotW pre-Calamity: replace the zonai technology with the sheikah's, and what's the difference --except that this later version of Hyrule isn't trying to pass itself off as perfect? Zelda doesn't experience any kind of culture shock. Even the language seems to be basically the same. It is Hyrule, because it is. It's the origins of the kingdom. This is the whole point of the zonais: being that familiar thing that we know and love, except more pristine and more glorious and more mysterious so we can be sad when it gets destroyed.

So is it aesthetically inspired by mesoamerican cultures? Yes. Does it evoke specific details about said culture? The way politics and religion interconnect perhaps (unless we consider Rauru coming from the gods as such, but it's nooot super specific and not really elaborated upon)? What that culture valued, or what we assume it once valued? Cultural shortcuts we tend to make with these cultures, for better or for worse? I may be extremely uncultured here, and if that's the case I apologize, but I never really saw any of the aspects highlighted as the core pillars of the zonais commonly associated with either mesoamerican ancient civilizations, or current living native decendants of these civilizations. The biggest connexion or shortcut I see is the "mysterious ancient advanced civilization", which is pretty vague and was honestly more convincing in BotW.

Then of course, it doesn't invalidate that connection. But now, as a point of comparaison, to see what happens when Zelda takes active steps in coding one of their fantasy races... Let's take a look at the gerudos, shall we?

(Urbosa appreciation break. She's just so freakin cool look at her goooo!!! okay now we can keep going.)

I have said my whole spiel about the gerudos about a bajillion times now so I will try to make it quick. My tl;dr is: gerudos were always meant to be culturally disruptive. It's their whole point in the Zelda series. I won't rehash the whole thing about the crescent moon, the orientalism etc, but I think it's important to remember that they are meant to be considered foreign in a way no other Zelda race ever is. What I mean by this is, if we return to OoT: they are the only race hostile to Hyrule enough to not only consider and carry out an invasion, but to forbid entrance to their territory if you are not one of them. They have a different (apparenly evil-looking) god and their ears are rounded when everyone else is some sort of elf, their script is different, their cultural values are different, it's a weird semi-matriarchy where the man-king's occasional patriarchy has a very different social role than the king of Hyrule even if we don't get to see all the details... Won't return on the thievery and the 90s islamophobic kick of that time period, but the gerudos were very obviously crafted to be culturally deviant to the Hylian norm; their difference so great that getting accepted by them is an actual fighting and infiltration challenge. And even though they are much friendlier in TotK/BotW, they are still, by far the most innaccessible and different race out of all the rooster of, and it's worth mentioning, fish-people, bird-people and rock-people. They are the only one with their own language, their own strict rules that oppose your freedom as a player, a series of side-quests that directly address the subject of culture clash and differences; and, even then, they still parallel the real life western fantasy about the Orient TM (even more-so in TotK I would say, which I didn't love): the locked-in harem foreign men are forbidden to enter. This core idea is so entrenched that it becomes gameplay.

When it comes to Ganondorf, the parallel remains, more present than ever: in that game he gets to embody the foreign, cruel, brutal, cunning, manipulative, uncomfortably feminine at times, envious, physically intimidating, oppressive Man of the Desert in a long tradition of Men from the Desert and the rich legacy of literature and movies that portray them. It's not new to TotK, to be very clear: but TotK did double-down on the trope at the cost of Ganondorf's specificity as a character instead of questioning the trope that birthed him the way the series had tried to do in the past (even TP wasn't that bad, doing away with a lot of the baggage altogether --for better and for worse).

So to me... saying that zonais are mesoamerican-coded, in a world where we simply do not actively interact with these cultures all that much anymore (not at all to minimize the very real oppression of their descendants and the extreme and sickening violence their ancestors were met with to be extremely clear --I'm just saying that the violence wouldn't have worldwide cultural resonance in the same way and I don't think would have much reality in Japan unless, again, I'm saying dumb things and in that case please do correct me), or the extremely mild and non-invested way Zelda handled these cultures (to me it's much more costume than coding), positively too (good!), and comparing them to the active coding of the gerudos (and especially Ganondorf) as a means to equalize them as "basically the same thing" feels... a little off to me.

But! Now we're getting to the last layer!!

(you have no idea how long I searched for this gif, I typed "Ganondorf kneeling" in the gif search, like a fool, and parsed through much, much horniness to finally find my little dude anyway layer 3!!!)

Layer Three: It Isn't What Actually Matters Now Is It (at least according to me, the person writing this post)

Honestly, I don't really care whether Rauru and Sonia are white-coded or not. They could be, they could not be, cool by me either way. I don't really care if the zonai culture is meant to stand-in for mesoamerican cultures for Real for Sure or not, and heavily doubt it was done to increase diversity (otherwise Rauru wouldn't be, like, a Goat-Man but just a brown man). I do appreciate the visual diversity of the cast of NPCs, that hylians can look like a whole number of people and it's really cool Hyrule is moving into that direction instead of being very typecast into a sort of Japanese-ish representation of western middle ages/fantasy/fairy tale thing.

But at heart, what bothers me between this whole dynamic has less to do with whom is coded as whom than the fact that this game twisted itself into knots to tell a very suspiciously clean story about its complicated world and complicated history, and I feel like it's completely fine to ask for more than the bare minimum of visual representation and question the way these characters get to interact with each other and how their real life struggles are meaningfully talked about in the worlds Nintendo spend millions crafting? Sometimes, what they do is already great! Sometimes it's half-great! Most of the time, it could be so much better --especially when some of these subjects have been talked about to death for over 25 years (sorry to beat that dead horse one more time btw)

At the end of the day, the story itself is strange for many reasons. The power dynamic between the characters is attempting to be several things at once; maybe it's not on purpose, but either way, the world TotK paints is a strange one that only holds itself together if we accept to take it at face value. Which we don't have to.

And to me, TotK felt particularly shallow in that specific department of representation due to the whole... Imperialist Vibes thing (the other ask about this is queue'd, it's coming!), which nullified a lot of these efforts for me. It's not only about who's represented, but how they are represented as well, and, very importantly, why.

omg tysm for the ask! (and to anon who also suggested zoya, sorry it took me so long to get round to it 😭)

why I like them: honestly she's just so fucking iconic, but I love how she's amazing and badass while not being one-dimensional! like she has flaws and she has trauma and insecurities and none of that takes away from her positive traits!!

why I don't: idk I feel like she has some ideas that I would disagree with - I haven't re-read the books in a while but I always got the vibe that she's pretty pro-military and particularly in favour of the second army. and like I get it! fun light-hearted fantasy books are not obligated to deconstruct entire social systems! but if I met her irl I think we'd argue about it lmao

favourite episode/scene: I love the scene in s2 where she agrees to ally with alina! I think it's really sweet and shows her character development

favourite season/movie: in terms of the books, I think she's best in the kos duology - as fun and iconic as she is in the s&b trilogy I think the backstory and development she gets in the later books really enhances her character

favourite line: oh this is so niche but “none of this had been fated; none of it foretold. there had been no prophecies of a demon king or a dragon queen, a one-eyed tailor, heartrender twins. they were just the people who had shown up and managed to survive. but maybe that was the trick of it: to survive, to dare to stay alive, to forge your own hope when all hope had run out. for the survivors then, zoya whispered to herself as the people before her knelt and chanted her name. and for the lost.”

I love the theme of fate/destiny vs free will in the grishaverse and this is honestly one of my all-time favourite quotes - I'm actually considering having part of it as my yearbook quote!

favourite outfit: ooooh I love her outfit for the shu han heist in s2 (although obviously, honourable mention to the blue ribbon™ just for being iconic)

otp: see my answer is different for fanon and canon. in canon I adore zoyalina, in fanfic I love zoyalai!

brotp: zoya and genya are literally the BEST friendship duo ever (although I also low-key ship them romantically). zoya and nina are not necessarily a good friendship but I love analysing their dynamic so they get an honourable mention anyway. oh and her cousin lada, the girl liliyana adopts - we barely see them interact but I think they would have had such a cute dynamic!!

headcanon: she's a cat person. this is actually true and accurate bc I say so. she 100% owns cats post-canon

unpopular opinion: she shouldn't have become queen at the end of row. as iconic as it is, I can't help but think that it would backfire politically, it'd have negative consequences for her relationship with nikolai, and it kind of sets back both characters' development. this feels too harsh but idk 😭😭 might write a longer post about it at some point

a wish: for her and nikolai to fix the issues in their relationship. bc yes, I think in canon they have Issues™ but this is a fixable problem! she just needs to stop putting him up on a pedestal!!

an oh-god-please-don't-ever-happen: imagine if she actually did become darkling 2.0 lmao. it'd never happen bc I think leigh bardugo would never do that, but it would be absolutely awful

Lmao I'm on a fnaf frenzy sorry not sorry

But I was just thinking who in mha would be good for a watch party and these are my thoughts so far:

FNAF Movie Spoilers ahead!

• Jirou is a casual enjoyer, got into the fandom because of the music lol so she loves The Living Tombstone and wants to see if they'll make it to the movie's soundtrack. Her fave song would be I got no time (not bc its my obsession at the moment or anything lol what).

She would put on an all black outfit with striped sleeves and leg warmers, do some loosely puppet inspired make up and call it a day.

• Tokoyami bc of course, come on. Look at him -a horror kid and a theater kid at the same time- he can't not like fnaf come on dude like.

His fave game would probs be Fnaf4 or maybe a fanmade like TJOC or Jr's.

What I'm still debating on is whether or not he would dress up for the movie (maybe like a securitiy guard or like puppet?? Or perhaps he'd just wear a formal suit Idk)

• Shinsou also just gives me the vibe, but I feel like he'd be a little more interested in the lore than the games, like he would play the easier ones but the more stressful games? Lol no he'll just watch Mark suffer for him. Thinks Security Breach sucks though.

He'd be one of those people complaining about the fort scene but Deku shuts him up real fast on that one (THEY'RE KIDS SHINSOU THE GHOSTS ARE LITTLE CHILDREN AND BESIDES IT'S RELATED TO THE PLO-)

Would dress up as either grunge or cunty purple guy

• DEKU OMG DEKU DUDE. A HARDCORE FAN. He's Mathew Patrick's no1 follower, probably follows every single one of his channels and is basically just a matpat 2.0 when it comes to making theories to be honest.

He's consumed every single piece of fnaf media possible and goes crazy analyzing every single detail on this film. I feel like talking/ranting/gushing to him ab this movie would be so much fun (but you have to be somewhat well-versed in the lore lol).

Screams through 60% of the movie, whether it is from goddamn Balloon Boy or from excitement. Will rewatch it any time he has the chance to.

Also he'd probably like the super complicated games like Fnaf2, Sister Location or UCM on all max lol. Would dress up but keep it lowkey (like a brown shirt, a little hat and Freddy ears omg what a cutie)

• Maybe Kaminari? But I feel like he'd only play Security Breach or the roblox versions of the games lmao.

He'd simp hard for Vanny/Vanessa while still being scared shitless of her chases. Other than that he'd probably rather just watch his friends play the games from a safe distance (and with the lights on). Simps hard for both Mike and Vanessa in the movie lol (maybe Afton too? Who knows).

In it for the memes 100%, he WILL start singing 'harr harr harr harr harr' in the theater at any point in the movie if he's not supervised.

Would dress up either matching deku or as toy chica (and I mean obnoxious game-accurate make up, hot pink booty shorts, a crop top and the apron- only because they told him he wasn't allowed in the theater without a shirt on)

Here to ask you or more like tell you a lil bit of my delulu mind. So i can get to know about what others think about this.

So i'm here to talk about jungkook's seven and it's mv.

I think they had planned seven even before they release face or like crazy. So when it got that huge success and hit #1 on hot 100 hybe was a lil bit attacked. That's why they tried to stop lc from more achievements.

Like i said i think they've planned seven for a while. Cause do you remember that white day live? It started with a dinner date vibe. Like the start of seven mv.

Then he talked about wetting his head and spoiled set me free pt 2 too.

Then again that laundry live. We had a laundry scene in seven too.

And the rainy day fight and getting back together. It was in seven mv too.. there could be more lil things i missed.

And the most important part it this.

He said seven is about "that willingness to be with that loml everyday is shown in this passionate serenade".

This reminds me about the way he did all those jimin centric lives and calling jimin to join him whenever he saw a glimpse of jimin. Making sure that we know he is missing jimin. giving his full attention to jimin and talking about him and even posting "i miss you too" under jimin weverse post. He made sure that people know how he miss jimin. Just like he said about the song. "Willingness to be with that loml everyday'"

In the end of that jimin centric live he even said he was inspired to do new music. After watching jimin for 1hr and 40 minutes. And then we got seven. He just sang it. But i think he knew about this seven and it's concept before face's release and he spoiled it while he is spoilling jimin's album.

What do you think? Sorry for my delulu thoughts.but really wonder about what others think. 😂😂

Glee Song Tournament Update #1

I’m hoping to start the tournament on Sunday the 16th, but I will post a more concrete confirmation of the schedule once I get it 100% sorted

For now I wanted to talk about the songs that are included and excluded, and how I’ve set this up

What didn’t I included? Well the only two concrete answers were anything that was just a dance performance with the original song in the background (Single Ladies, Bubble Toes, etc), and any song that was album only with no filmed scene to go with it (Dancing On My Own, I Was Here, etc)

Some musical moments I left out might seem hypocritical. I left out songs by rival glee clubs that basically only served to show that yes, there is a third club competing, here’s ten seconds of their song (Broken Wings, Starlight Express, etc) but I included ten second snippets of songs from main characters (Respect, Mr. Cellophane, etc)

I also didn’t included (most) songs whose only purpose was to be bad or get cut off which unfortunately cuts out half the times Tina got to sing. Some exceptions are Crush (because we at least got a full studio version) and Pink Houses (which we heard enough of in the episode). But things like The Climb or Revolution will not be found here

Lastly, songs in deleted scenes. These were cut or kept in based on what I thought was more popular. I can understand someone being miffed if Santa Baby or I Want You Back wasn't included, but I doubt anyone would care as much about Oklahoma or Mr. Monotony (if you stan the latter two songs, I'm sorry). So I only kept in the ones I thought were more well known/liked

If you're upset about one of the above songs not being included, or think I'm not being fair, you should know that there will be 340 match ups consisting of 681 songs in round one alone. I only trimmed the tiniest amount of fat, and I promise there are still plenty of songs for you to vote on. But hopefully everyone can understand where I'm coming from and just accept what got cut x

Now, with hundreds and hundreds of songs in the mix, I wanted to do something a little more interesting than just throwing a million random match ups your way with no rhyme or reason. Bc 1) It could get boring and repetitive and 2) It could be harder to follow if it weren't split up in some cohesive way. That's where the categories come in

What are the categories? Generally speaking, they're the ways I've broken down the polls into themed sections. Hopefully this will make everything easier to follow, plus who doesn't love some good theming?? Specifically, the categories are...

Holiday Songs. All the Christmas songs + the one Hanukkah song. If you hate Christmas music, feel free to skip this round

Original Songs. Basically just any songs that aren't covers, whether it's the humorous or serious ones

Mash Ups. All the songs that are two songs combined

Same Songs. The songs that were covered multiple times on the show, pitted against one another. The only round that isn't matched up randomly

Tributes. Songs by artists/from musicals that the show frequently paid homage to (RHPS, WSS, Grease, Beatles, Britney, Fleetwood Mac, the Jackson fam, Madonna, Whitney, Stevie Wonder)(also the songs are from all eps, not just the one(s) that served as the actual tribute ep)

Musicals. Songs from musicals not listed in the last bullet point

Rivals. Songs performed by opposing glee clubs (The Warblers, Vocal Adrenaline, etc)

Guest Stars. Songs performed by, or heavily featuring, any of Glee's numerous celebrity cast members

New Directions. Songs performed by the main club. (Not necessarily a group number. Could be sung by half the club, or even two or three people, but as long as the rest of the club is there vibing, it counts)

Solos. Songs sung by one main or recurring character

Duets. Songs sung by two main or recurring characters

Misc. Everything else! Mostly trios, quartets, or group numbers that go beyond just ND

Of course there are plenty of songs that could fit into multiple categories. For example, "Somewhere" could fall under Tribute, Guest Star, and Duet, but will only be included in one of those. So if you think I left something out of a certain category, don't worry, you'll see it pop up in a different one later!

EM ‘Hey Stranger’ • Chapter Twenty Six - Euclid

Chapter summary: Here comes Vecna.

content warnings: mentions of mental health (depression), mentions of suicidal thoughts, mentions of parental abuse / PTSD.

A/N: this chapter might be a bit confusing as its in two different locations (regular Hawkins trailer park and the upside down version of the trailer park) so I hope it makes sense!!! Also, the song isn't from the 80's but fuck it fits perfectly with the scene, its also my favourite song atm and would 100% bring me back from the upside down if I heard it lmao.

I really recommend listening to the song at the same time when reading this chapter so you get a feel for the vibe I'm going for but its totally optional! Any excuse for me to talk about Sleep Token lol.

Friday / 1pm / Eddie’s trailer / 4 days left

Nina: “Can Ozzy and Garfield stay with Sheryl, Robin and I for a while?”

Eddie: [confused] “Sure, why?”

Nina: [muttering quietly] “Vecna might get them if they stay here.”

Eddie: [amused] “Don’t think Vecna feasts on kittens, sweetheart.”

Nina: [blushing, cute] “Just to be on the safe side.” [she picks them up and puts them in their carrier] “Don’t want anything bad happening to the children.”

Eddie: [looking at Nina fondly, amused] “So it’s fine if Vecna takes your soul and snaps your bones like a twig, but kittens are where you draw the line?”

Nina: [tickling Garfield’s chin] “They’re our boys!” [looking at Eddie, smiling] “I just want to make sure they’re safe.” [teasingly] “Glad to see you’ve got your sense of humour back, you had me worried for a while there.”

Eddie: [rolling his eyes, voice soft] “They’re going to be fine, and you’re going to be fine.”

Nina: [unsure] “I know. Just to be on the safe side.”

Eddie: [sighing] “All packed?”

Nina: [going through her draw in Eddie’s dresser] “Nearly, yeah. I’m sorry about this, Eddie.”

Eddie: “Don’t apologise, I want you to feel safe. It’s not safe here for you at the moment.”

Nina: [shy] “Funny, this is usually my safe place.” [cautiously] “You’re gonna stay with me, right?”

Eddie: “Always.”

Nina: [picking up a tape from the drawer] “What’s this?”

Eddie: [blushing] “Erm, that was meant to be a surprise. I was making you a mixed tape. It’s not finished yet.”

Nina: [grinning] “You always said you were going to make me one.” [teasing] “I can’t wait to hear it.” [joking] “If it’s finished before my bones get crumpled like a piece of paper.”

Eddie: [grinning] “See, we’re both making jokes about it now.” [Nina smiles at him] “That means that we’re definitely going to beat Vecna.”

Nina: [sarcastically, bitter] “Actually it means we both have really healthy coping mechanisms and good luck in our lives.”

Eddie: [wrapping his arms around her waist from behind] “My luck has turned I’ll have you know, the day I met you.”

Steve: “Ugh, get a room honestly, Hawkins is about to get blown to smithereens and Nina crinkled like a leaf and you’re both still groping each other.”

Eddie: [grinning] “See, even Steve’s got a sense of humour about it.” [Nina rolls her eyes]

Nancy: “You guys find anything?”

Nina: “Nah, nothing. Just packing some stuff to take home.”

Eddie: “I’ll take them to the car.” [he picks up Nina’s bags, kisses her cheek and leaves the room]

Robin: “You okay, honey?”

Nina: [solemn] “Yeah, I guess.” [frustrated] “Just wish we knew what we were up against.”

Robin: “I know.” [wrapping an arm around her, resting her head on Nina’s shoulder] “Don’t worry, we’ll figure it out.”

Eddie: “Ready to go?”

Nina: “Yup! Oh wait, I forgot to get something from the bathroom.”

Eddie: “You can say condoms, Nina, we’re all adults here!”

Nina: [appalled] “Eddie! What the hell!” [muttering to herself] “And why would anyone keep condoms in the bathroom? Dumbass.”

Jonathan: “Why are you talking about condoms- Nina? Are you okay?”

Nina is looking at the mirror in the bathroom.

Nina: [cautiously, afraid] “Can- Can you guys see that?”

Robin: [coming to Nina’s side] “See what?” [looking in the mirror] “There’s nothing there.”

Nina: [pointing at the mirror] “There’s something in the mirror.”

Nancy: “There’s nothing in the mirror, Nina.”

The lights in the bathroom begin to flicker and the group gasps, the flickering lights now spreading to the whole trailer. The lightbulbs begin buzzing and the electronics turning on and off; the microwave pinging, television crackling static and Eddie’s amp whining.

Nina: [going pale] “I can see it, he’s right there.” [turning to Eddie who is stood facing her] “Eddie, can you see-“

Eddie’s hand reaches out to touch Nina, and as his hand rests on her arm, Eddie’s body disappears in a puff of dark smoke, as does Robin’s, Steve’s, Nancy and Jonathan’s. The trailer begins to swirl and furniture evaporates into dusty black clouds, Nina falls backwards in fright. Where Eddie once stood now stands the black figure from the mirror, it’s long claws reaching out for her.

Vecna: “Nina….”

Nina screams and scrambles on the floor, desperately trying to skate away from the tall figure looming before her.

Eddie: [worried] “Nina, what’s wrong?” [he goes to reach for her again and she shuffles back in fright, he looks around at everyone, scared] “Guys, what’s happening?”

Steve: “It’s happening again, he’s here.” [looking around, frantic] “We need music!”

Robin: “Nina, can you hear us? We’re here, don’t worry, we’ll get you out of there!” [She reaches to touch Nina and Nina screams, backing away on the floor, hitting her head off the wall as she presses herself against it] “Somebody find some god damn music!”

Eddie: [rushing around the trailer] “Damn it Wayne, why yesterday of all days did you decide to tidy?!”

Nina: [blinking furiously, shaking] “Stop, make it stop!”

The figure transforms into Nina’s Mom and she walks slowly towards Nina, crouching down to her height.

Nina’s Mom: “Going somewhere, Nina?”

Nina: [frightened] “Oh god, please no!”

Robin: [shaking Nina’s shoulders] “Nina! Wake up, wake up!” [she clicks her fingers in front of Nina’s face, Nina looks straight through her, staring at nothing in the middle of the living room]

Nina’s Mom extends her hand to stroke Nina’s hair, Nina flinches with fright.

Nina’s Mom: “No need to be scared, it’s just me, your mom, Nina.”

Nina: [whimpering] “Leave me alone!”

Eddie: [pained] “Nina, can you hear me? It’s me, it’s Eddie!”

Nina’s Mom’s hand leaves her hair to wrap around Nina’s throat, Nina panics.

Nina: “Not again, please, no!” [Nina stands and runs, hurtling fiercely out of the trailer door, tripping over her feet and landing on the wet ground with a thump] “Please, not now!”

Eddie runs after Nina as she sprints out the door.

Eddie: “Nina! Nina, wait, it’s just us, Nina!” [he catches up with her as she is standing motionless on the grass outside the trailer, her back to Eddie] “Nina?” [he grabs her shoulder] “Nina?” [he moves to stand in front of her and he pales] “It's happening again. Oh fuck, it’s happening again! Guys!”

Nina is standing completely still, her eyes white and bloodshot, her body and mind unresponsive.

In Nina’s mind it is just her and Vecna; the trailer park she’s stood in now dark and cold, the only light shining from the moon. The trailer park is deserted, the howling of the wind the only noise in their encounter.

Venca: “I’ve been waiting for you, Nina.”

Nina: [in the upside down] “Let me out of here, please, I don’t want to be here!”

Vecna: [approaching her] “You can’t run from me.”

Nina: [muttering to herself] “I’m gonna fucking try.” [she begins to sprint in the other direction, carefully weaving in between the trailers]

Vecna: “You’re good at running, aren’t you Nina?” [Nina continues to run, turning her head occasionally in fear to see Vecna creeping slowly behind her] “Running from your feelings like you did in the woods that day,” [Nina remembers running in the forest, when Eddie found her bloody and crying] “Running from your mom in California,” [Nina remembers sitting in the airport for hours, watching the minutes on the clock tick by] “Running from letting Eddie and Robin into your life.” [Nina stops in her tracks, stunned] “But you can’t outrun this.”

Nina: “I’m not like that anymore.” [her bottom lip quivers] “I’m better, I’m fixed now. I’m not running anymore.”

Vecna: [bitter, venomous] “Fixed? How could you be fixed?” [condescending] “Deep down you’re still that broken little girl who cries herself to sleep at night.” [walking towards her menacingly] “You think that I don’t see you? See your pain?”

Nina: “Stop.”

Eddie: [shouting back to the trailer] “Get me some fucking music, now!” [looking at Nina, terrified] “Please don’t go, Nina.”

Vecna: “It could be so easy Nina, just take my hand and I’ll make it all go away.” [Nina begins to tear up] “You think I don’t see how you hid in your room, praying it all would end-“

Nina: “Stop, please!”

Vecna: “-Praying that one day your mother would push you just that little bit harder, hurt you that little bit more-“

Nina: [desperate] “Please! I don’t want this!”

Vecna: “-So that she’d put you out of your misery-“

Nina: [clutching her chest, squeezing her eyes closed] “Stop it, get out of my head!”

Vecna: “- So that you wouldn’t have to do the inevitable-“

Nina: [panicking] “It wasn’t like that, I-“

Robin: “Something! Anything that plays music! Right fucking now!”

Steve and Jonathan are rushing around the trailer looking for anything to play music on, a radio, Eddie’s record player, but their minds and hands are shaking with fear. Nancy stands next to Robin, both of them watching Nina as she hangs lifelessly in the air.

Steve pulls the stereo off the wall in the living room, chipping the wallpaper and breaking the power socket in the process, and plugs the stereo in in the nearest plug socket by the open front door. He turns the volume up full but no sound comes out.

Back in regular Hawkins, Nina’s feet lift off the ground; her body now at least twenty feet in the air, arms spread out.

Eddie: [pained, reaching for Nina; fingertips only inches away from her foot as she levitates above him] “Nina! Nina, please! Come back to me!”

Steve: [slapping the stereo angrily] “Why isn’t it fucking working?”

Nancy: “Give it here!” [She fiddles with the buttons, with the switch, no sound comes out]

Steve: [sarcastically] “Oh yeah Nance, I forgot about your ability to manipulate electricity!”

Eddie: “Hurry up guys!” [to himself, watching Nina] “Holy shit.”

Nancy: [thinking out loud] “The electricity… he’s manipulating the electricity.”

Vecna: “Nobody knows how long you lay there on your surfboard, praying nobody would find you, hoping you’d float out to sea and be done with it.”

Nina: [screaming, distressed] “it wasn’t like that! I can’t do this! Get out, get out!”

Vecna: “I could make it so easy for you Nina, it’d be like floating right up to heaven. We both know you’ve thought about it.”

Nina: [screaming] “Get out of my head!”

Robin: [watching helplessly as Nina floats in the air, her helplessness turning into determination] “Oh, fuck this!” [Robin storms into the trailer, rummaging through the clutter on the sides, finding a mixtape on Eddie’s desk]

Robin runs back to the living room and puts the mixtape in the wireless battery radio from the kitchen and turns the volume up to the max.

Eddie: “Robin! That’s not finished yet! I-“

Robin: [shouting] “I don’t care! We need music!” [Robin pushes play on the player]

Dreams by Fleetwood Mac begins playing on the speaker.

Eddie: [running to Robin’s side] “Wait, not that one!”

Robin: [stressed, exasperated] “Eddie! I don’t think which song matters right now! I’m trying to save my best friend's life!”

Eddie: “That song makes her sad, not that one!” [Eddie takes the player and skips a few songs] “This one, trust me!” [to himself] “This will bring her back.”

Euclid by Sleep Token begins playing on the speaker, Eddie holds it in his hands like a boombox and raises it in the air.

Nina crouches on the floor, hands over her ears and eyes closed tightly shut when she begins to hear music.

Just run it back, give me five more minutes,

I am thick tar on the inside burning.

Nina: [softly] “Eddie.” [she opens her eyes] “Eddie? Robin?” [peering around] “Guys?”

Robin: [shouting in the distance] “Nina! Come back to us! Follow the music!”

I got a ghost in the hallway grinning and a heavy head that won’t stop turning.

Nina: [standing up, looking around desperately] “Where are you guys? I can’t see you!”

Vecna: [approaching her] “You won’t get away Nina-“ [Nina begins to run] “Nina!”

If my fate is a bad collision and my mind is an open highway,

Give me the twilight two-way vision,

Give me one last ride on a sunset skylane.

Nina: [sprinting, out of breath] “I’m coming! I’m coming guys! Where are you? Wait for me!”

Call me when you get the chance,

I can feel the walls around me closing in.

As Nina runs through the trailer park, ghostly figures of people from her past stand in her way.

Nina’s Mom: “You can’t run away forever, Nina.”

Nina: [pushing the figure out the way, it dissolves in her hands] “Go away!”

Carly: “You were a terrible friend, Nina.”

Jessie: “I only stayed with you because I felt bad for you.”

Nina: [annoyed, still searching for the gateway] “Oh, fuck off!”

Just running forward, a life like wires,

I see the past on the empty ceiling.

Robin: [faintly] “Nina! We’re right here!”

Steve: “Come on Nina!”

Eddie: [pleading] “Baby, please, I love you, don’t leave me now.”

I play along with the life signs anyway,

But hope to god you don’t know this feeling.

Nina’s Mom: “You were a mistake, a constant disappointment.”

Jessie: “You are unlovable, Nina. Who would want you?”

Yet in reverse you were all my symmetry,

A parallel I would lay my life on,

So if your wings won’t find you heaven,

I will bring it down like an ancient bygone.

Nina whimpers as she runs, running in circles at this point, running away from Vecna. She stops to catch her breath.

Vecna: “You can’t leave us Nina, we’re a part of you now.”

Nina turns around startled, seeing Vecna’s tall figure stand before her.

Vecna: [raising his hand to her face, making her squirm and fight] “Join us Nina, we’ll make you whole.”

Call me when you get the time,

I just need to leave this part of me behind.

Nina: [crying, desperate] “This isn’t how it’s supposed to end, please! Let me go!”

Eddie: [faintly] “Nina! Nina please, I’m right here!”

Nina: [finally seeing the gateway behind Vecna, eyelids fluttering with emotion, whispered] “I tried, Eddie, I’m so sorry.”

Do you remember me, when the rain gathers?

And do you still believe that nothing else matters?

Nina remembers lying on the couch with Eddie on the stormy night after his gig at the Hideout, how safe and peaceful she felt.

She remembers playing in her welly boots in overflowing puddles with Robin in the summer.

Vecna: “They’re better off without you Nina, give in to me.”

Vecna: [claw-like fingers only inches from her face] “You’re mine now.”

Nina: [looking at the gateway] “It’s not enough.” [determined, kicking back against Vecna] “Fuck this!” [Vecna tumbled backwards, dropping Nina to the floor] “I’m coming!”

I’ve got a question, does jade remember that letter? when she gives the package to Kit is she aware Kit will read that? or did she forget it even existed since it’s such an old letter.

Also with kits song about lili i for some reason first interpreted it as possibly about Jade. Now i’m wondering if any miscommunication is gonna come from Jade thinking a songs about her or something (or maybe i just really read into that wrong aha)

Lost Cause I think does have a few aspects of her relationship with Jade, but it's mainly about Lili. Lili doesn't have a job, she doesn't pay attention to Kit, she puts her wants over her girlfriend's needs, and she doesn't care about Kit, so it's mainly about her. And yes, of course Jade's gonna think a song's about her when it's not, because who would I be if it wouldn't? :)

I love this ship so much, I can't even tell you. That line was heavily inspired by the fact that Kit's touch starved as fuck, but nobody really talks about how Jade's probably also touch starved as hell. Jade never gets shown physical signs of love from anyone besides Kit, so I mean. And Kit never gets shown any touch either, but I feel like Jade would really love physical touch too. Cuddles for everyone!

I'm so glad you're liking this! It's been a joy to write and see your responses, I'm happy you're still staying along for the ride, even though it's a long one.

I read all your rant about Finral and Finesse and everything, and even though I completely understand your points... I have to admit, I never felt that Vanessa and Finral were teased as a ship, but as best friends. I understand why people felt otherwise, but it wasn't my case (even today, I only feel the friendship chemistry, but I DO support those who ship them). Isn't it weird that we felt something else entirely for the bond between Vanessa and Finral?

On the other hand I was immediately totally on board for Finral and Finesse. Don't ask me why, I just find it so cute from the start. But I do agree, that it might should have been introduced a bit better and certainly sooner, maybe.

Sorry if I bother you with that. It just made me think, how different we felt about this topic, but how I can still totally understand your point and Acacias. And I totally support that. Ship Finral and Vanessa all you want, consider Finral and Finesse as friends all you want, be happy about it! I fear it's just not my cup of tea in a romantic way, but that is just my opinion. But as best friends, as Brotp, I'm all on board for it.

No worries, not everyone views things the same way, if we did, it’d be pretty boring wouldn’t it 😆? At least that’s what my other mutuals and I say when we talk about disagreeing or we have different opinions on things! Like for example; there’s a certain Kdrama that I’ve watched and loved where a lot of people felt the FL and the ML had a bunch of chemistry and wanted the characters to get together, but I on the other hand felt that the ML and the Second FL had a lot more chemistry together (even after I rewatched it I still felt the same) and that the FL and ML were just…friends? Aquantinces? Understanding of each other? I don’t know the right word rn, but apparently the writer felt the same way because in season 2 they heavily implied the Second FL had feelings for the ML 😆!

So it really is fun where people can watch the same show and get totally different vibes from characters, ships, etc! Whether it’s kdrama’s or anime! And I think that’s something I love about fandom, you and someone else could have watched the same scene but got two completely different things from it, which makes it fun and interesting I think!

Anyway back on the topic at hand; I don’t mind Finral x Finesse 🥰, I’ll admit they’re not really one of the ships I think about a lot, but I think they can be very cute together! They really should have introduced Finesse better then they did 😔, or even hinted at her existing like my mutual @loosesodamarble said (Langris could have easily mentioned her when he saw Finral in Kiten, like Erika said, but they didn’t 😭!)

You aren’t bothering me with this! I actually enjoy talking about ships and how peoples ships are different then mine (if that makes sense, I have a killer headache so I’m not sure if I’m making much sense 😆!). I think it’s fun how differently we see the topic, and I 100% support you in shipping Finral x Finesse 🥰! If (or when tbh) they become canon in Black Clover I’ll fully support them and love them as well even though I ship Finral x Vanessa. And I support you in only seeing them as a BROTP, they certainly are best friends at the end of the day, which makes me love those two no matter what 💕!

nici (if i may) you're so nice while answering to all my blubbering mess 😭😭😭 you're so sweet really, always looking forward to your answers not just for me!!! this time i want to ask what are your personal favourite scenes to write and what are the most challenging? oh maybe they are the same?? and also what's the most fascinating and challenging in writing for you? sorry if you answered that already!

my personal top scenes are:

1. their first kiss oh my god it gave me HUGE pride and prejudice vibes (that rain scene), it was so intense and heart wrenching 😫

2. the whole chess scene, i already said this. the concept itself is very good, and this battle of masterminds when they try to expose each other 🤌🤌

3. y/n finding him before that surgery all high.... because of its overall vulnerability AND the last scene in the previous chapter when he's doing drugs from her back 😫 because it was SO sexy (and bad as well, but~~~)

so first to the most challenging thing: what i find difficult is making sure the reader is getting everything? like as the writer you are aware of what each character motives are and their feelings and thoughts, but i never can be 100 percent sure it is as clear for the reader as it is for me.

at the same time i'm not a big fan of writing long inner monologue, i rather have much happening in conversation or action. so that is a thin line for me, to make sure everything i want to transpire is conveyed but still don't make it boring. if that makes sense.

also like variety in writing, like scenes, speech and all. guess that's more easy for native english people. i struggle sometimes to make the conversations sound natural.

lastly, consistency in character? so hard to really make sure that the character just doesn't change randomly and is coherent throughout the story while still making progress and growing.

what i really like writing is fighting scenes ahhhh. idk what about it, but i love when two headstrong persons just discuss and fight the hell out of each other omg. love when they yell and accuse and all that ugly things!! <3

also like everything angsty and hurtful. i don't actually enjoy writing fluff that much, or rather i find it often really cheesy and flat? i think angst is more my thing to write.

my favorites scenes are so similar to yours!!

rain-kiss-confession: yes. YES. loved to write this raw confession and him finally giving in. ahhhh, my heart aches just thinking about it. & rain just makes everything better.

chess game: love every scene where they are both like not backing down and clash head on against each other, because they both are stubborn af. also love chess as a way for them to talk truthfully. but also like the whole morning, with him checking on her and confessing how he feels for her and all that fighting ahaha. love wiritng fighting scenes.

bathroom smut: lol, idk but i loved the first bathroom smut they had ahaha. still think it was the best, because the pent-up tension finally broke free!

satoru being high before surgery: yes yes yes, yn finding him before that surgery and him being so hazy but when he finally can focus on her the first thing coming out of his mouth is "you look so beautiful". i'm weak.

him getting brains for her: you remember when satoru got human brains for them to practice?? and him showing her and saying "i'd anything for you"???? i'm weak.

training basketball: i know this was kinda short, but when they practiced basketball for the university sports festival in the beginning and it was still so like innocent and him approaching her to show her how to do it and asking "may i?" before touching her. I'M WEAK.

also every scene he does drugs off of her ahah. WEAK.

also when they play billiard with sukuna and they are so couple like. WEAK

You should! I’ve seen other authors post fic rec threads. Mainly on twitter tho (I refuse to call it x, will forever be twitter to me). They post a brief summary and a link to the fic. That’s how I found some of my favs!! Yeah, for sure would have to be confident that the right crowd would be the only one to see recs. Wouldn't want it to reach the wrong audience 😬

Omg, it would turn out like those memes where the premise is when your cousins are over and you guys end up laughing instead of sleeping while trying to not wake up your mother 🤣. Don’t say such nice things!!!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺 You fr would never be able to get rid of me then. I’d be one of those annoying small flying bugs that never seem to have anything better to do than bother you (this fr will be me 🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰 lol). Haha, not us having that cheesy, cliche drug deal scenes in the movies but with fic recs instead. What are your top tags/fandoms??? Or better yet what is an absolute no for you? If you have specific preferences I can comb through the fics I have saved/bookmarked that you might be interested in or at very least narrow down what you’re more likely to enjoy

Well if you say that I definitely do have recs but they aren’t exactly fanfics and really depends how you feel about the genre as a whole…..these books have 100% destroyed my soul but I’ll rec them in a heartbeat (it's what my main account centered around). They hold such a special place in my heart (really helped me out in my teen years), but I am careful with who I share them with due to past experiences. I shared them with, who I thought was a friend at the time, but they obvs didn’t care which made me feel like I was too forceful sharing my passion; like,, sorry if I came off as too much I was just excited to share….

Not that I think you’ll do that and I’ve toned down excitement levels when first sharing, unless the person is just as passionate as me lol, but nevertheless all I ask from others is that if you truly aren’t interested just say so in the beginning instead of leading me on 😅. We can always find something else that we share a passion in. Idk, I don’t mean to sound vague/guarded but that experience still haunts me sometimes…..(I feel like I brought down the vibes, I didn’t mean for it to get so negative at the end I swear 😔). Anyway, I’d be down to drop the titles if you want

Some of my fics have definitely been published out of order. Maybe I will… I've been thinking about it for a bit, and I've seen other people do it on here. (XD Omg! Same! I don't call it X either. Not when the url is still Twitter) D: Oh, I did not think of that, though! That kinda makes me nervous to do it now. Hmm… I don't think any of my current followers on here would be that rude, but other people on this website I do not trust. Tumblr has certainly become more aggressive and hateful recently than I've ever seen it in the past.

XD Omg! Aww, but why not? I don't think you're annoying! And you're certainly not bothering me! I've been popping back in occasionally to see if you've answered, haha. XD Omg! Dealing fic recs! Okay, uh… Hmm… That's a tough one. I usually mostly read reader-inserts as of late, but I'm always open to discovering new ships and there are certain characters I multiship like no one's business (like Tohru, Zelda, Link, and Haruhi off the top of my head). There's a lot of fics I still gotta re-find concerning canon x canon, and it makes me so sad that just today I removed several from my bookmarks that the author of had deleted. I'll read any kind of ratings G-E, and I like everything from fluff to angst to smut to humor, platonic or romantic. For E rated fics, anal stuff isn't really my thing, nor spanking or the dirty talk that involves daddy kink or names like 'bitch' 'slut' etc. I'm not a fan of inflation or food kink (in like, the extreme feederism you see in r34 art. I can handle the whipped cream on the tiddies or pouring wine on someone's body and drinking it stuff, but I don't like force feeding or overfeeding until the character throws up or pressing/squishing their stomach to make them throw up, which I have seen in fic before. Not my thing), anything to do with feces or piss, or hardcore descriptive gore. Descriptive body horror tends to make me nauseous, and while I have powered through gorey irl books, I do not like necrophilia or wound fucking, which I discovered the latter was a thing pretty recently. And I'm not very fond of bugs more often than not, though I'll make an exception for Cell.

Other than that, I'm pretty open-minded and can't really think of any other hard no's off the top of my head, though I would prefer no recommended Trigun fics until after I finish FTPOF and maybe it's manga variant. I've been kinda holding off looking back through the Trigun fandom now on Ao3 because I'm scared I'll see something in someone's fic that I really want or plan to use in mine and psyche myself out of using it or change it because I'll be worried about idea theft claims. It's like, right now, even if I still get idea theft claims ever, I won't be worried about it 24/7, you know? XD I won't feel like I'm stealing anything if I don't know it exists currently in someone else's fic! Oh gosh,… As for fandoms, I've been in quite a few… I don't think I could possibly list them all. I haven't really checked out stuff on Ao3 yet (x reader. There's way more I haven't checked out for canonxcanon just yet): Naruto, The Legend of Zelda (but please no ToTK spoilers just yet. Rauru be lookin fine tho 👀), Undertale, Claymore, Pokemon, Fruits Basket, Black Butler, Death Note, OHSHC, Wolf's Rain, Spider-verse, FNAF, Psycho-Pass,… I used to also read oc / oc when it came to monster fics. I love those. As for canonxcanon, other fandoms I enjoy are: Bleach, Dragon Ball, Fullmetal Alchemist, Detroit: Become Human, Yu-Gi-Oh, Transformers,… Uh, can't think of anymore rn. ^^; At least not ones I know are probably pretty decently sized on Ao3.

Books, you say? 👀 Depending on what they are, I might not have access to them for a while as I can no longer shop online at the moment, but if they're something I could potentially find locally, I'd be willing to check them out. D': Aw, I'm sorry! I've definitely felt that way in the past, feeling too intense about my interests, and I've toned down a lot when sharing things irl because of this. DX Oh, gosh yes! I wish people would just be more upfront about their disinterest! I even had a so-called "friend" once lie to me about checking out something that I was talking to them about, leading me on and making me think they watched it too. And… I would have just not talked about it if they'd told me upfront they didn't care enough to actually check it out or hear about it; we could have used that time to be talking about something else, but no. You're okay, I promise! Being vague/guarded is totally valid after an experience like that! (You're okay, don't worry! You didn't bring the mood down or make it too negative! I was worried that I did with some of my earlier responses, and I'm sorry and apologize if that's true.)

But yes, I'd love to hear about it! I like reading physical books just as much as fanfiction, and I really love the fantasy genre with a dash of realism, but I'll read about any book my mom and I are given which are often your generic romance and suspense books you can find almost anywhere with the usually white and red covers for the romance and the purple and black for suspense. Right now I'm actually finally giving Pride and Prejudice a chance (as I've heard so much good about it and we had a school library give it to us) alongside The Hunger Games books and a generic cowboy romance called One Lucky Cowboy. I've also been dabbling in Nancy Friday's spicy women and men's fantasy novels for smut inspiration. Usually the only reason I'll put down a book is if there's like, hard no stuff for me which has only happened twice so far? A book about witches scared me with the details it went into with the witchcraft (I can't recall the title) and I could not handle the start of the first The Vampire Chronicles book and dropped it. But I could handle The Mountain King by Rick Hautala, Blood Trail by Tanya Huff, Endless Night by Richard Laymon (which was arguably the most fucked up book I've read so far), the first The Passage book by Justin Cronin and I've even made it up to A Dance With Dragons in the ASOIAF series (part listening, part actually reading) and listened to a lot of the Chaos Seeds (up to book 8: Monsters. Sion my beloved :')) books on Audible.

XD Trust me, I'd love to, but fate is stopping me from getting that particular fic file back and has been for over a year now. If it can't be recovered, I do fully intend to make the best of what I had on my USB that I so foolishly did not back up that night from the temporary laptop I'd been using which would not boot up the next morning. I do intend to post it one way or another if I can, but… I really would love to get the version I'd been polishing that should still be on the hard drive. :O Wait, really? XD Omg! Sometimes, I tell ya, that's just how it be. I dunno what it is. They like, seem to have a mind of their own sometimes.

Which,… The movies cut out a lot of details and a lot of it is hard to convey movie-wise mostly because it's all in Katniss' head, all her inner thoughts and feelings. She's very stone faced outwardly because she has to be in the books, and that's often how she comes across in the movies. It's all an act, though. Her inner feelings are very loud inside, but she has to be strong and it sucks because she's still just a teenager.
