#SoD's doodles #pokemon #rika #rika pokemon #the doodles are because I wanted a quick study into how to draw more handsome women lol #top left and bottom left were the two last ones where i realized her face is actually wider than i was drawing it #anyway i'm not very good at consistency in faces plus i wound up getting better at drawing her as i went tbh #her eyes in particular...i'm not used to drawing them sloping outward like that so this was probably good practice anyway #the reference i used was the acrylic stand that's sitting on my desk which has her shirt as much more yellow than it appears in the games #so idk if it's slightly different in other ways too.#anyway i love rika

#talking #to the tags if you want the longer rant that maybe i'll talk about fully one day #tl;dr when i was in hs i was with my ex that i think ive mentioned like once or twice #there was a lot of shit wrong with that relationship and us and me at the time #but the thing that happened after we broke up which was the worst was her saying i was passionless #because in her mind i wasn't 'trying hard enough'#didn't help that she was super talented in art (even if thinking about it now its way too disney for my taste tbh)#and seemingly had her life together bc she had a super cool supportive mom #(wish i could've gotten her in the divorce tm)#and tbh that haunted me for YEARS #i stopped drawing for years after being with her #i didn't really pick up drawing HARD again until 2020 #and i didn't really work on many of my own wips #just kinda poked at the ashes of the wips i got in the divorce (which funnily enough i don't use anymore. used the ocs but not the plots)#i was just so fucked up about it #but seeing y'all comment that you like my writing and my art #having people say that my worldbuilding is fire and passionate #idk it heals the part of me that died that day #so thank you all from the bottom of my soul #whenever y'all are kind enough to compliment me the hole mends even more #so idk i was just thinkin about it like bro the difference between me then and now is night and day #in part to all my lovely friends and mutuals #so yeah idk thank u i'm gonna go back in me corner again

my ultimate wish for this next era is they finally let Ryan go like they did Andy. I'm so sick of not getting the content we deserve. All the gatekeeping of tour diaries and now the crumbs of concert footage in that "documentary" yesterday. he was working for months on that? that's why we didn't get tour diaries? all that footage just goes in his vault now? Please.

Hello! I'm sorry to hear you felt disappointed by yesterday's special. However, I feel compelled to comment on a few objective points in your ask.

- "Live & Backstage in Amsterdam" was directed by James Tonkin, the same director (and production team, Hangman) they worked with on "The Feeling of Falling Upwards" (and the unreleased "Live in Brixton" special). Ryan was credited as director of the documentary footage and as a contributing editor (1 of 3) but the live footage and overall final program was not his work.

- Regardless of the particular creatives involved here (or in any given project for that matter), the fact remains that any directors, producers, photographers, etc are all hired hands operating with full input and specific direction from the band. The band chose to make this a hybrid concert film/documentary. The band chose to condense the setlist the way they did. The band chose this format over the traditional tour diaries. What happens to the unused footage will be determined by the band. Ryan is a friend but he is first and foremost an employee and the band owns that footage. (Likewise, the MYT diaries are not sitting on Andy Deluca's hard drive because he's "gatekeeping" or too lazy to edit it. If the band wanted them released, they'd be released.) All this to say, of course you don't have to agree with the decisions but it's important to clarify who your complaint is with.

- This concept of the band or their collaborators "gatekeeping" and fans not getting what we "deserve" is, to be blunt, entitled and immature. Being a fan does not make an artist indebted to you. They make music, if you feel so inclined, you listen. That's it. That's the extent of the contract. Anything beyond that is optional for both parties. Any content an artist chooses to release is not out of obligation or generosity, it's part business strategy, part artistic vision. Artists do not owe you anything. This band does not owe you anything.

#apologies for the long answer but clearly i had a lot to say (still do tbh)#i didn't link it bc it hit a lot of the same points but i answered an ask with similar sentiments last year about the CM promo era aesthetic #bottom line is at the end of the day these dudes are not our friends shit posting they are professional artists #artists trying to fulfill not just a creative vision but also business obligations #the people they work with are tools in the toolbox hired to help accomplish those goals #they don't get raw footage and do whatever they want with it - the band will always get final say #the hate their collaborators get is always so bizarre to me-whether it be their signature style or the manner in which they deliver content #the band hired these people for a reason 🤷🏻‍♀️#also just bc I have the time: Andy was not 'let go'#thru their work with 5sos andy & sarah have become quite prolific mv directors both individually and as a team #as well as continuing to be in demand live music photographers - andy literally shot depeche mode last week #ryan has also had a number of high profile ad campaigns he's shot this year #what I'm saying is they don't need 5sos lol #the band likes their work and is lucky to have access to collaborators that make them feel understood #i just... can't reconcile this 'we deserve' bit #this was the third concert special in as many years... we only had to pay for one... bc it was a global livestream #it's ok to be disappointed if it wasn't what you expected and i don't mean to invalidate that #but this concept of 'deserving' is a different thing especially in the context of this fandom where entitlement is an ongoing issue #so that's where this long ass answer is coming from lol #anyways that's my rant for the year - just in under the wire!#ask #anon

What???#YOU JUST INTERVIEWED ME #there's one of them that i'm hoping for bc it has the lovely 8-5 hours. not per shift. just being open #and it's a tourist trap #that has good health benefits and gets me into other tourist traps around town For Free +3 guests max #like hello. dad can visit. bring both sisters. we're going touristing #and sea world at 50% off which is pretty damn cool #i'm gonna start harassing them daily on the phone as of wednesday #if that gas station food prep job doesn't get back #which pays a touch more with a 10% discount on GAS #BUT they're the ones who sent that weird email this morning saying i didn't make it to the interview stage which um #why? what? you talked to me twice?#I'm QUALIFIED? It's the same damn job i previously had but for a gas station. i mean come on #ugh. my lowest quality options are part time at a busier and more annoying tourist trap #or *sighs* dominos.#at least dominos gets good tips tho #everyday for like. the last week has been interviews #except yesterday which tbh i slept most of it #i need a fuckin job dude. come on #i have also created a list of managers i would rather be interviewed by #at the bottom of the list is intimidating older woman. next is slightly younger than that woman who thinks i don't look local enough #somewhere in the middle is that really chill old lady who gave me advice about chafing in the heat. great lady #and top is black man in his 20s. very chill. easy to talk to. i've been interviewed by two and the first one was younger than me #and i intimidated him. bc i knew more about interviewing laws than he did. whoops. missed out on the job but he was nice #today's though? KNEW HIS SHIT. Perfect manager. I'd want to work for him. Chill. easy to talk to and understood the laws well #...just realized the bar is that low. wow.#sadly he's the dominos guy and that job is second to last on my preferred list #i have most definitely noticed that the person interviewing you sets the daily tone for the job

chapter one: fuck you

Canadiens face the Bruins on home ice in the first game of the season. Can star scorer Eddie “The Freak” Munson slip one past “Shutout” Steve Harrington, or will old rivalries cause problems like they did last year in the lead up to the playoffs?

Eddie pushed his mouthguard half out of his mouth as he skated in a circle, waving up at the crowded stands as the sound of the announcer filled the arena. He drowned most of it out, pulling his head into the zone.

There was always a rush to an away game, the relief from the pressure of skating and home and knowing that everyone there was watching for him to make any mistake. Sure, skating at home had its advantages—the energy in the arena, the cheers for every goal. But there was something about the fact that nobody was here for him, this wasn’t his turf, that made things feel a bit less scary.

It was always good to be feared.

And on top of that, and the arena was filled with the loud sound of booing and fuck you, Munson as his number got called, and the most unimaginative chant of 58 Can’t Skate filling the air.

There were a lot of things you could say about Eddie Munson’s hockey career. Hot headed was one he’d heard a lot. Too quick on the trigger. Bit of a weak backhand. Hogs the puck, even though with two wings he trusted on his line now that one was becoming less and less common.

But… can’t skate?
