Genuinely I absolutely, thoroughly hate the way people have gotten in regard to "You can write fic about dark subjects, but don't ever go into detail about those subjects" (if they even concede that people are "allowed" to write about anything unpleasant at all).

Because I just read an excellent one that was...very fucked-up! Actually!!! But it was also a nuanced and gripping examination of abuse--switching between the POV of the abuser (who lies to themselves about the reality of their actions, making their POV sections all the more uncomfortable for it), their victim (who lies to themselves in a different way, by refusing both to acknowledge their own victimhood or to consider the ways they later come to continue that cycle) and, eventually, an outside party (who is the only one aware of the true reality, and tries (and fails) to help, through the comparatively powerless ways that are available to them).

And this thing was not reserved in any way regarding its depiction of all of this. It didn't cut away cleanly after a vague uncomfortable comment for the reader to fill in every single blank for themselves. There were even times where the victim themselves was under the impression that they were genuinely enjoying what happened, because they convinced themselves that they had control over a situation they never had control over!!! And I know that...certain people. Would absolutely accuse this fic of "romanticizing abuse" because of these things. Which I think is an INCREDIBLY unfair assessment of it, especially since most of the time the discussion of "romanticizing [x]" is less a discussion and more, "I don't care what the author intended, this story simply shouldn't exist because this is incontrovertible proof they are a horrible person in reality, also they should die."

Hi friends 💜 I gained lots of lovely new followers lately, so here I am - (re)introducing myself for everyone new to my blog.

I’m Billy, 29, non-binary, vegan, queer. My pronouns are they/them. I’ve been doing fandom stuff on this website for about 15 years. I’ve been a wrestling fan for even longer than that.

I’m European, but my sleep schedule is absolute whack, so you’ll likely see me up and online at all weird times of the day. I do have a nightly queue set up, indicated my the little "q" at the end of my tags, but I oftentimes end up being awake and posting during those hours, still.

What got me hooked on Wrestling? My uncles (who might as well be my older brothers, not much of an age difference there), showed me all the wrestling videos when I was a kid. And then we watched WrestleMania 22 together and I saw the Mick Foley vs. Edge hardcore match and well - the rest is history. 

I’m a pro wrestling enthusiast in general and try my best to keep up with as much of it as possible - WWE, TNA/Impact, AEW, some indie stuff if it looks interesting enough (I really enjoy WOW for example). I post whatever brings me joy, though I’d say my content favors WWE heavily most of the time (old habits die hard). 

My ultimate favorite since the day he stepped foot into NXT has been and will forever be Sami Zayn. Undisputed. 

Before him I was a huge Edge fan, Punk fan, AJ Lee fan, Dean Ambrose fan. I'm still a huge Moxley fan to this day. 

I was & still am a sucker for The Shield too (they got me back into watching WWE after Edge’s first retirement). I came back for the group, stayed for Roman, Dean and Seth as individuals. I didn’t think I could love anyone more, ever, until the day Sami walked in and said “challenge accepted”. And here we are.

Generally I’m enthusiastic about any and all wrestlers unless stated otherwise. What finally got me to participate in the online fandom though? The Bloodline & Samijey. I’m a Sami fan. I’m a Roman fan. A Jey fan, a Jimmy fan, a Solo fan. So I enthuse about these guys a lot more than about all the others.

I freaking adore women’s wrestling. No female wrestlers are getting slandered on my watch. My current favs are Naomi, Becky, Bayley, Indi, Asuka, Shayna & Rhea in WWE, Jordynne in TNA & Willow, Mercedes and Toni in AEW. My forever undisputed favorite will be AJ Lee though. 

I enthuse about a lot of different wrestlers on a regular basis. So you’ll basically see lots of content about all the people from all the promotions. I don’t believe in the whole weird tribalism bullshit. Wrestling is awesome and no matter what you enjoy, I love that there’s so much variety for everyone these days.

I’m a writer and a shipper. I’m a multishipper. Wrestling is beautiful and very very gay. My absolute favorite ships are Samijey, Ambreigns/Romox (& JimmyKev & BayRhea), but I have a few others I like & I’m always open to writing and reading other new stuff too. Nothing’s set in stone when it comes to shipping.

could people maybe not upload pictures of fresh self harm cuts? it doesn't matter that you do the thing with all the dots to hide the image - the image shows up in the recommended tags tumblr puts on your dashboard

your tw tags are also constantly changing and misspelled on purpose so that you don't get (rightfully) suspended for breaking one of the most clear and serious tos. this means that we have to blacklist new spellings of self harm, cutting, ect. all the fucking time so that we aren't triggered

we are all for talking about the ugly sides of mental illness. please express your true feelings and emotions - we do too. but don't fucking post pictures of your fresh cuts. scars are fine. scars are healed wounds from the past and in an ideal world no one would feel like they have to cover them. but uploading gore is fucked up. making a community around self harming is fucked up. discussing and being open about struggling with self harming is all fine and healthy, but there's literally no fucking excuse or reason to upload your bleeding wrists

i will report every fucking image i see of this. this is disgusting behaviour. you shouldn't be ashamed of self harming, but you should be ashamed of posting graphic pictures to a +13 website that is strictly against this kind of content

Hiya sorry to drop in but this would be a very different ask than what is normally discussed (you might even consider it as discourse):

So apparently, there is a new mobile game that is based off Tower Of God (a Korean Webtoon manga) and even had an anime 3 years ago (Fun fact: Johnny Yong Bosch, Cherami Leigh, Jeannie Tirado and Chris Hackney are in it) made by Crunchyroll no less.

However, Laura Post apparently posted a thread about how the upcoming TOG mobile game didn’t even brought back the original English VA’s. Granted, the directors and production team aren’t responsible of it (it’s possible they’re aren’t aware of the situation) but Crunchyroll is responsible for it.

It is then later revealed by Laura that Crunchyroll acted pretty entitled when the client making the TOG game wanted to be localized, even going as far as saying that they owned the voice prints. What’s even scarier is that Crunchyroll said that the client isn’t allowed to bring back the OG cast and even blacklisted them no less! Laura tried to get her lawyers to look through her contract and it’s stated that there isn’t anything stopping her and the OG cast to return.

This got pretty long but all I want to say is that Crunchyroll went too far with the VA’s and because the TOG game is unionized, it screwed the VA’s over. (I can even link the thread that Laura Post has said about it)

I mean, I'll maybe tag it as discourse anyways but I think we can all agree it's pretty shitty anyways.

I've vaguely heard of Tower of God because Johnny was in it, I think I had tried to watch one episode but got sidetracked by a bunch of other stuff. Maybe once I'm done with Demon Slayer and Vinland Saga I'll get to it.

I've stated it numerous times, but I feel VERY negatively about Crunchyroll, for a lot of reasons:

The big one I have to bring up first because on my blog I've actually got some of the info wrong. Kyle McCarley wanted to sit down with Crunchyroll to discuss being paid union wages for his role as Mob in Mob Psycho 100; he's been Mob since the very beginning. Crunchyroll refused to even listen to his request to sit down, and so contrary to my previous belief that they let him go, what actually happened was that he stepped away. That's at least all the info I've gotten so far, so if I'm wrong about anything, if someone knows the correct info please let me know. Still a douche move on Crunchyroll's half, I'm not blaming Kyle at all.

The whole High Guardian Spice bullshit. All the money that went to that shitshow was supposed to go to underpaid animators in Japan, or so Crunchyroll claimed. Instead it went to a mediocre-animated, shittily-written, absolute filled-to-the-brim-with-bitch-characters excuse they called a "show".

The fact that they still actively employ Daman Mills, and in fact a voice director (we don't know if it's from Crunchyroll though) tried to cover it up by contacting ANN after the news article released (which honestly fuck ANN but still this article had vital info) and threatening that Daman Mills was gonna commit suicide if they didn't take it down. The whole Daman Mills thing is a fiasco in and of itself; People try to claim that because the victim retracted what he said that it didn't actually happen, but keep in mind that A) Those allegations had been posted since November of 2021, and it wasn't until ANN published the article in 2022 that Daman nuked the shit out of his social media accounts, but not before people found some pretty heinous shit (Like calling a 14 year old "jailbait" and literally saying "I'm not a pedo BUT!"). B) Daman himself admitted through his lawyer that he had a consensual relationship with the victim at that age, then tried backpeddling (again through his lawyer) and saying "W-well when I say a consensual relationship I mean a consensual friendship!" Bitch, no one EVER uses the term "consensual" for a friendship. Daman is still listed in Crunchyroll productions and even had one of his directors, David Wald, outright state he supported Daman and would continue to employ him.

There's also minor stuff with licensing and dubbing, and adding to that some side stuff about purchasing other merchandise-selling websites and censoring their inventory heavily. But this news with the mobile game doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

if this is boring as hell you dont have to answer it but if you want to. I'm trying to apply to jobs as someone who has never done that before and all the advice i see online contradicts the things i read 15 minutes before. tl;dr are cover letters still a thing and also can i actually put an interests section on my resume and have 'breakfast' be one of the things it says and not get blacklisted by the recruiter reading it

I’m in a pretty specific field so I don’t think my experience would be much help unless we talked more in-depth (idr if I turned off messages but if you’re willing to come off anon I think I can shoot you one).

1) cover letters are a thing in my field, and so is following up to check if it was received

2) interests are super dicey imo, if you’re applying to somewhere that has that kind of atmosphere it can be appropriate but I’d imagine it *really* depends. e.g. a more artistic place would probably find value in your various experiences beyond Standard Resume, somewhere super corporate will probably want ‘higher-value’ interests that could be related to the workforce. Don’t put ‘breakfast’ unless you’re aiming for a Fun And Quirky™️ workplace and even then you gotta make the rest of the resume strong enough to make up for if the joke doesn’t land, I’d assume

3) when applying for larger places the reason people say to use wording from the job recruitment information is because there’s an initial more automated process and *then* the more human process (unless it changed recently or unless my info’s always been wrong)—so something automated might discard resumes based on information or like… the use of keywords might give priority to the resumes that match what the algorithm is trained to look for (BUT again, I might be completely wrong about that). It’s important to remember that a human is reading your resume, and that human is probably reading a bunch of other resumes as well, which is one of the reasons it’s suggested to use clear and concise language.

4) I have a job reference tag with info that might be useful, but you might have to dig a little to find specific info about resumes/cover letters/job searching

MARE'S RECAPS ~ THE MANDALORIAN: CHAPTER 9 "THE MARSHALL"

Oh wow! It's been a while since I've done something like this. Last year, I caught up with season 1 about 2 days before the finale, so I didn't have the opportunity to write reviews/recaps. This season, though, I'm going to 😀 so here it is the first one! 

For the folks that haven't seen the premiere and don't want spoilers, scroll past this, fast and furious, because it's full of them. If you want to blacklist tags to avoid spoilers from me, I suggest that you add #mando spoilers, #the mandalorian season 2 spoilers, and #mare's mando recaps to the list.

I've seen the episode a few times (yeah, I'm that obsessed with the show) so some of my reactions are more visceral than others since I was too excited the few first times I watched it and I missed a lot of details (another reason to rewatch the episode more than once). This recap is loooooong, which is an indication of how amazing it was.

So this my final warning to those avoiding spoilers. Stop reading, right now. The rest of you… enjoy and let me know if you share some of my opinions. I'm always open to chat 😊

Chapter 9 ~ The Marshall

So it begins! It's so exciting!

I knew that Mando and baby Yoda walking in the street at night was going to be the opening scene. I started to think about it after watching the second trailer, and I'm glad that I was right.

It turns out that the red-eyed creatures were not jawas as I saw some people saying.

Baby Yoda was not happy with the little excursion to the fighting arena. Not walking on the streets nor inside watching the fight. I still laughed when he locked himself up in the pram, even if I've watched the trailer like a gazillion times by now and I knew he was going to do it.

And talking about the baby, he's getting more vocal I think. He's making a few new noises, whimpering more, which I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing. That he complains more means that he feels safe with his buir and isn't afraid of retaliation for it as he probably was with others in the past and the reason he didn't cry much in season 1. But it breaks my heart that he is stressed. And that child is anxious, I can tell you that much.

The fight with Gor Koresh's thugs was awesome! The gamorrean flying to squash Mando and failing had me cracking up. And omg! Din'd moves! Using his helmet as a weapon and throwing his vibroblade. And leaving Gor Koresh to be eaten! Man of his word, he didn't kill the guy.

On a side note, I would've never guessed it was John Leguizamo who gave voice to Koresh until I saw the credits. Of all the actors who could play the part, I never thought of him.

Umm, I'm curious about the time Mando has spent in Tatooine, which according to him it's been a lot and it makes sense since he knows so much about the Tuskens, their language and culture. I'm guessing he spent a while among them. He had to learn all that somehow. 

When I speculated that Mando was going back to Tatooine after watching the trailers, I said that I was going to riot if he didn't visit his favorite mechanic. Thankfully, I didn't need to worry. I loved Peli in episode 5 of season 1 and I loved her even more now remarking on Din's dislike of droids and trying to keep the baby for herself. Not to mention she complaining about not getting good help these days 🤣

And I ADORE the (improvised?) Birikad Din got for the baby. Of course, the baby is safer in the pram, right (guessing that's why he used it when he met Gor Koresh), but there's something sweet watching him carrying his son so close to him.

And I tell you, Mando has been spending credits lately in baby stuff. I mean, he got a new pram (which I initially thought it was the original that he had somehow retrieved from the garbage in Nevarro, but no, it's not the same, and neither it's the one that Kuiil made) and he also got the bag/birikad thing, which looks brand-new. I wonder what else he bought.

Watching the droids doing maintenance of the Razor Crest makes me think it's all for nothing, knowing that in a few episodes (it might be even in the next one) Mando is going to crash the ship. More than once perhaps.

😆 The baby still loves speed! I think riding on the speeder bike was the only moment that he truly enjoyed in this episode. Look at that happy face 

When they arrived at Mos Pelgo and Din went into the cantina, leaving the baby outside, I was like: Din! That's not responsible. How can you leave your son out in the inclement sun, alone! Then baby Yoda peeked in and I went: never mind. I take back what I said.

Oooh. Cobb Vanth! I love him! For a moment, I thought it could actually be Boba but it seemed illogical and that's what Mr. Feloni and Mr. Favreau wanted us to think. I was correct.

My gawd! Din's shock when Vanth took the helmet off. I just knew he would freak out the moment Cobb asked for drinks and I said to drink they need to remove their helmets and Mando is going to lose it when this guy does. And the standoff! Was so good! "Take it off or I will" is going to become a quite popular phrase in fics from now on, not in the same context, but yeah…

The krayt dragon… oh shit! Or rather Dank farrik! We can't see Mando's face or expression but I can imagine which one was when he saw the dragon eating the bantha the first time.

Oh my goodness. The baby hiding in the pot! Too adorable! 

I know every hardcore SW fan lost it watching Vanth modified speeder because is a callback to the Phantom Menace and Anakin but my first thought was: is he compensating for something? Sorry, I couldn't help it 

The dog-lizard creatures were kinda scary at first but then became adorable. Almost as much as baby Yoda getting out of hiding

Baby Yoda doesn't like dog-lizards things. He looked afraid to be eaten I think. Poor little guy.

And look at that! Din showing such growth! To think he was the one incensing others in negotiation 😆 this is a total callback to the jawas in Arvala-7. And I gotta tell you, Din freaking loves his flamethrower. He doesn't waste the opportunity to use it.

The krayt dragon eating the Tusken raider instead of the bantha was quite of a plot twist 😆

When they were planning the attack on the dragon, Cobb Vanth's face when Din told him that the bones and pebbles were to scale, and then when he had volunteered the villagers to help… priceless! 

I like the fact of banding together with others for a greater good, relying on others to accomplish something is going to continue being the theme of this season. It started last season but I think it's going to be stronger this time around along all of the episodes.

Oh yeah! Teaming up with jetpacks!

When they showed the bantha with the remaining explosives my first thought was why didn't they use all those before?! That's why they didn't kill it!! Of course, it was just an excuse to grant Din a more grand win in the end, but you know, it's stupid not to use everything you have to kill the monster on the first try. Just saying

Wait, what? Din! What are you going to do? No! Taking care of the child is your responsibility, not Cobb Vanth's! I hate this plan of yours, Din Djarin!! Whichever it is!

Oh! Nice callback to the flaw on that jetpack. But makes me wonder, do all the rising Phoenixes have the same flaw? Cuz unless Din knows Boba in person and that it's his armor with that particular flaw, it means it's a common problem for all and I don't like it.

Get away, Din! Get away, Din!! FLY AWAY!! AAAAAAAHHHHHH! NOOOOOO! 

There he is! Damn, Mando! Don't scare me like that! Altho, it was a nice move.

Okay, but now I want someone to explain something to me. If the dragon's acid melted people at contact before, how the hell is Din so whole? I mean, sure for argument' sake let's say his beskar armor provides some protection, but he's not entirely covered in it. His cape and undersuit seem just fine, albeit sticky. Where's the logic in that?

The tuskens getting the pearl reminded me of the jawas and the mudhorn's egg, chanting zukka, zukka (or however egg is spelled in Jawa).

That's quite a piece of meat. The baby is going to be happy eating off it for days🤣

😮😮😳😳 BOBA FETT!!!!! Yesssssss!!

Okay, I've seen other people's thoughts and some think that Boba was after Cobb Vanth because he had the armor, but I don't know. If that was true then why he hadn't gone to Mos Pelgo and got it? It seems to me that it's more likely that Boba is following Din somehow because it's the second time in as many Mando's visits to the planet that they sort of cross paths. Could they know each other? Have some score to settle? It's possible. Din has spent much time on Tatooine -his words, not mine- so it wouldn't be so out of consideration that they actually know each other. That if Mando knows Boba is (fake?) Mando, I don't know. Probably not, but who knows?

Extra thoughts

I gotta say that Ludwig Göransson is killing it with the score music! Oh. My. God! So so so so good! I could tell from the trailers that it was going to be awesome this season but it astounded me in chapter 9. Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous! My favorite piece is when they're going to the dragon's cave to kill it. The orchestral sound of the already familiar music blew my mind!

hi michelle! so want to start saying that i identify as bi and honestly, I would LOVE it if jake was bi. I think it'd be great. But i'm also okay if he's not, bc how cool is it that they're allowing a man to break down traditional gender norms/roles! i think one of the greatest parts of loving a show like b99 is that it lets us escape the 'real world' for twenty minutes every week. and that means something different for every person watching the show. 1

SO while i believe you are entitled to your own opinions, and you can share them on your blog bc it's yours, i don't think its fair to invite people to share their opinions but shut down anyone who feels differently than you. for example, you said to someone who said they didn't care if jake was bi that you hope they 'get well soon'. also, you posted saying that if bi people didnt want jake to be bi then they're wrong. im sorry but thats really hurtful. you dont get to decide how people think 2

just bc someone feels differently than you doesnt make their feelings less valid, ESPECIALLY someone who identifies as lgbt+. you run a popular blog and it makes me sad to think people might feel their opinions are less valid or wrong bc they see it here. again, im not saying you cant have opinions or post them. but maybe just think about how your words can affect others. also saying this off anon bc i respect you and am open to having a conversation. mlm/bi representation will always be more important than ‘straight man comfortable with his sexuality’. while i am not saying that straight men in media shouldn’t be portrayed as comfortable in their sexualities, the stance that it’s okay to take away representation from people in the lgbt community as long as we have Good Hets is harmful, and it gives people in the tv/movie industries a cop out. they don’t have to give us more lgbt characters! straight characters who Know What’s Up are good enough to make them seem woke and avoid criticism! and whether you’re comfortable with this happening as an lgbt has nothing to do with it. we have to hold the media accountable, we can’t just settle for less. whether you want to watch b99 uncritically or not is entirely up to you. i get that it’s exhausting to analyze the media content you consume! i more than understand just wanting to escape and not ask for more! it’s tiring! it’s draining! it’s disappointing, it hurts so much and it gets so so lonely. but we can’t just let the world stagnate. progress needs to be made constantly, and shows can’t be made to feel like they can just do one or two good things and not be expected to do anything else! i’m not asking you to fight for this, i just want the acknowledgement that this is the right thing to do

i didn’t exactly... invite anyone to say anything. i truly am just sending my thoughts out into the void. and yes, i am aware that my words reach a wider audience because i have a larger than average follower count. of course i know my words can affect others. that’s what i’m trying to do. aside from getting thoughts out my brain, i want to promote a less passive line of thinking. i want lgbt folk to want better for themselves. unfortunately, because words and actions have responses, people will climb into my inbox and start conversations that i inevitably have to take part in (sometimes i don’t though. it really depends on where my head’s at that day. having to discuss this repeatedly is draining). most of the time, i’m just making a statement

i don’t particularly enjoy “shutting down people who feel differently from me”. usually, if i’ve done that, i really am tired because i’ve likely discussed and explained numerous times whatever it is the person who got shut down said to me. i might also come off as mean-spirited or perhaps aggressive if i know some anon is just trying to pick a fight/spew hate at me. if you don’t understand where i’m coming from/don’t believe why having an opposing stance is harmful (this might vary depending on the issue), i am (given i have energy that day) more than willing to elaborate on whatever it is i say here. if i say stuff like ‘get well soon!’ it is a tired response to something i have already covered in depth and i am making some semblance of a joke to deflect/put a lid on the stuff i really want to say (likely because i have already said it) 

i never said that bi people who didn’t want jake to be bi were wrong. i was trying to get them to think deeper and explore why they don’t want that. being lgbt sometimes means that we allow and normalize a lot of unfair treatment. we think that we have it good enough so we decide not to ask for more, to settle. and i will never blame any lgbt for falling victim to this line of thought. we were brought up to think this way, we were conditioned to think this way. acceptance does not equal inclusion, and sadly many of us are so grateful for the acceptance that we do not bother to even think about having inclusion. or, better inclusion, for that matter. of course, it is definitely not up to me to decide how anyone thinks. i’m just trying to convince you! very desperately. but if you don’t agree no matter what i say then what can i do? it’s your life. it doesn’t affect me much in the grand scheme of things. i’m not going to hate you for disagreeing. i’m not going to sic the dogs on you. am i going to be kind of annoyed if someone walks into my inbox, turns on anon, and hurls insults at me? yes, that’s hurtful, and it’s kind of funny sometimes depending on how dumb you sound, but it’s mostly tiring and a lot of pain. so like... read, if u don’t like it, move on, if your well-being is drastically affected from reading the things i say, i’ll tag it so you can blacklist 

the sad thing is, being a member of the lgbt community doesn’t automatically make your opinions on lgbt issues valid/unproblematic. internalized homophobia exists. things i described in the point above can lead to this. just because a bi person says ‘im bi! and i don’t care/don’t think bi jake is important!’ doesn’t mean that suddenly, there is no need for him to be canonically bi, that we aren’t being queerbaited/pandered to by the show. do i think that the show is intentionally/heinously queerbaiting us? not exactly. but lack of awareness and lacking understanding on why bi-coding jake w no intention to make it canon is just as harmful bc it produces the same result (in jake’s case)

once again, i don’t intend for people to feel “less valid/wrong” when they read what i have to say on this blog. self-reflection is important. sometimes, people have opinions that are wrong! including myself! which is why more often than not i think deeply into the things people say to me here and consider whether my opinion holds up. you don’t have to feel bad for being wrong. we are all constantly wrong on stuff. everyone, at some point, has had a bad take/the wrong take on something. if you hold yourself up to this standard that you must always be right or you are suddenly a horrible person/must feel bad and demoralized, i suggest that you change your approach to issues such as this. i hate to say this but it is not my job to make sure everyone is 100% cool and chill about everything i do and say here. some things need to be said. some things need to be acknowledged. i’m sorry if any of you have been hurt/upset by anything i’ve ever posted but after a certain point... that is your issue and not mine
