so happy right now :) got to meet neil gaiman tonight!! i was so blown away, i couldn't find my words but im happy i could tell him how finding comedy in my religious upbringing was so important to me. i also want to shout out the town hall! i had a seizure (i have epilepsy so not my first one! but still lol) during the cowboy bebop event, and the manager johnny offered me the opportunity to be here tonight!

i got to meet one of my favourite authors, and another author i haven't heard about before! Brandy! Hi! I'm really excited to read The Framed Women of Ardmore House when it comes out!! waiting for the show to start, and i'm just. wow. thank you neil for talking with me and signing my well-loved copy of good omens! it means the world to me.

Stop trying to read the Iliad and the Odyssey.

You're struggling to understand them, to focus on them, because you're going about it all wrong.

They're not books . They're epic poems.

They're oraccular tales. They're meant to be told. They're meant to be performed. They always were. Stop trying to read them.

Listen to the audiobooks instead. Find them on your local library app, listen to them while you're walking, find the cds at your local library, listen to them while you're driving, download them, shove them on your phone and listen to them in the night, staring up at the stars.

They're meant to be heard, to be experienced, not read.

On this day 49 years ago KISS performed at a sold out Cobo Hall and the show is recorded for inclusion on the album Alive!

This show is also notable as one of the only concerts they ever opened with “Rock Bottom”.

All the photos included here are from that night. The first photo is one of my favorite KISS photos ever. It puts to rest any doubt about if the back cover photo of Alive! was taken at a KISS concert or not. Check out the bottom left hand corner!
