1. Missoula, MT Adopts Pride Flag As "Official Flag," Legally Defying Ban On Flying It
“Montana HB819 was intended to ban Pride flags from flying on city property, but had an exception for "official flags." So Missoula made the Pride flag an official flag. […] In Salt Lake City, council members moved to designate the Pride flag, the transgender flag, and others targeted by state bans as “official city flags.” Boise, Idaho, took the same approach after its state legislature enacted a similar restriction.”
2. Dilly Dally the sea turtle returns to the ocean after flipper amputation
“An adolescent loggerhead sea turtle named Dilly Dally crawled into the Atlantic Ocean Wednesday morning, months after having a front flipper amputated at a Florida turtle hospital. […] A satellite tracking device attached to Dilly Dally’s shell will allow the center and the public to follow her journey. […] All sea turtles are endangered or threatened species. “So every sea turtle that we can save and get back out there is the win for the species.””
3. Japan’s First Zero-Waste Town: Kamikatsu
“[… R]esidents are encouraged to bring their waste to a Zero Waste Centre and separate it themselves at different stations that correspond with each of the [45] waste categories. […] By 2020, the town was recycling 81 per cent of all its waste, far above Japan’s national average of 20 per cent. […] In true circular economy thinking, the first step in the town’s waste process is not disposal but reuse, with items directed to a free thrift store[….]”
4. Puerto Rico Supreme Court recognizes ‘X’ as third gender for birth certificates in landmark decision
“Puerto Rico’s Supreme Court has mandated that the government include an “X” gender marker on birth certificates in a ruling issued on Monday. A group of nonbinary Puerto Ricans filed the case, and the ruling allows for the representation of those who identify outside of the gender binary. […] “Specifically, Plaintiffs request the Court to order the Demographic Registry of Puerto Rico to modify its application to amend a Puerto Rican birth certificate, to include an option to change one’s gender marker to an ‘X.’””
5. Smallest otter in the world rediscovered in Nepal after 185-year absence
“WWF is helping to build community stewardship for the conservation of otters and their prey, raising awareness and strengthening livelihoods. […] 375 local community members have received training on traditional gear, fish breeding seasons and eco-friendly fishing practices. […] Sonaha and Tharu households have also been supported in establishing small businesses that use their local knowledge and are less reliant on the river’s resources[….]”

Imagine the girls, before any of their guys really come along, having "date nights" between the four of them. Kind of like girls' nights out, but classier. They're not going to the clubs or bowling or something. They're getting dressed up and made up in their bests. They get each other flowers, candies, little gifts to present to each other (each girl gets something from each girl), and they all go out to dinner and then the theater or a concert or some other sort of cultured event. And they try to keep this up after the guys come into the picture too. Maybe it doesn't happen as often, but when it does it's incredibly sweet and deeply cherished.
I absolutely adore this idea, oh my goshhh. <3
My mind is already thinking of all the adorable ways they would absolutely SPOIL each other on these dates.
The day of, they all spend hours getting ready, and do it in 'secret' so the others can't see. It's a date night, after all!
When it's time, they all come out and showcase their hair, make-up and outfit to the other three. They each gush and hype each other up as each lady takes a turn being center stage. Each one spins and tosses their hair and shows off their shoes to VIBRANT fanfare. ("You look STUNNING!", "Aye, ya be lookin' e'vn more of a bloody knockout than usual!", "Your calves look amazing in those shoes!")
Then, they all pre-game by exchanging flowers. Every date needs a bouquet, of course! Before each date night out, they pull names of who to buy a bouquet for this time. So, each lady gets flowers, and her favorite sweet! Lots of dark chocolate, candied dates, etc. It's a joy each time, because each girl really takes it seriously and takes much care to choose the flowers and candy very intentionally. Bess might get dark chocolate one time ("it's from South American cocoa, so you KNOW it's rich and delicious"), then lingonberry marmalade another time ("fresh from Latvia - m'ghty fine stuff, lemme tell ya!") and lapsi candy another time ("It's a type of plum from Nepal, and it has a lovely berry flavor. I thought you might like it!") It's truly fun! Nothing is on autopilot, and no detail is spared.
If there's a lady's birthday coming up, the other three get her gifts, of course. A stuffed animal, jewelry, a train ticket to the oceanside, etc.
For dates where they leave the house, they draw names again for roles.
One pays for the car/taxi. One pays for the drinks. One pays for dinner. One pays for the event (theatre, opera, ballet, museum exhibit, etc.). It all ends up being pretty even, and they probably cycle each option around just to make it extra fair, haha.
I wonder where they take each other? I can only speak for Connie, but I see her taking them to a coffee bar/cafe and then for a date to the ballet. ("Errol used to dance here!") I could see Gal taking them all to a good oyster bar/pub and then to the London aquarium? Perhaps Addie takes them to a dinner ... and surprise! It's a murder-mystery dinner-show! Bonus points if one of the girlies turns out to be the culprit - I think they could have lots of fun. Bess takes them to a jazz club, followed by a trip to some romantic, passionate opera.
I could also see, after a particularly horrible incident, if they all go on a 'date' to a rage room and just watched each other break everything. ("Pretend his face is that plate and CRUSH IT!")
For dates where they stay in, they still dress up (maybe leaning into a more cutesy loungewear angle?) but they cuddle up and each chooses their favorite romance film to share with the others. It can be silly, or it can be totally indulgent and unironic.
It usually ends with they falling asleep on the couch or in the living room, all under blankets and curled up next to each other.
#the pack girls#1843d girls#their bond is so important to me#thinking of them bonding and cherishing each other like nobody ever has before and making each other each#feel like the most important woman in the world?#<3 <3 <3#scroogeverse

A new marriage law set to go into force in Thailand on Thursday will grant full equality to same-sex couples, including legal, financial and medical rights. Only two other places in Asia — Nepal and Taiwan — have similar laws in place.
The struggle for marriage equality in Thailand has lasted decades.
Plus and Gaye, a lesbian couple who preferred not to give their full names, told DW that the new law "gives us the courage to look toward a future beyond relationships."
After being together for nearly 20 years, they are now eligible for tax deductions, health care consent and joint property management — rights that were previously reserved for heterosexual couples.
The bill grants "basic human rights to the LGBTQ community," said Mookdapa Yangyuenpradorn, human rights associate for Fortify Rights.
But she questions whether the law will be implemented properly.
"Officials need to be informed and trained to avoid discrimination," Yangyuenpradorn said, "whether it is when the couples register their marriage, sign medical consent forms or adoption papers."
It is also telling that gender-specific words, such as "husbands," "wives," "men" and "women," have been replaced with gender-neutral terms, but lawmakers did not include the word "parent" in addition to "father and mother."
What's next after Thailand's marriage equality bill?
Thailand has long been hailed as a haven for LGBTQ+ people. But Yangyuenpradorn doubts the country will build on the momentum of its marriage equality law.
"When the marriage equality bill was discussed in public, some would say: 'They [same-sex couples] just want to love each other, leave them be,'" Yangyuenpradorn said.
If the focus shifts to things like the gender recognition bill, which would allow people to obtain legal documents reflecting their gender identity, then it becomes apparent that "transphobic attitudes still exist."
"Some people are against allowing the LGBTQ community the option to amend gender markers due to entrenched fears of (gender) identity falsification," Yangyuenpradorn said.
Vietnam: Population backs marriage equality, laws lag behind
Support for same-sex marriage varies across southern Asian.
A 2023 Pew Research Center survey found that 65% of people in Vietnam are in favor of allowing same-sex couples to marry — more than anywhere else in Southeast Asia.
Despite this level of public support, same-sex marriage seems a long way away in Vietnam. The country only stopped defining being gay, bisexual or transgender as an "illness" in 2022.
The current Vietnamese Law on Marriage and Family was amended in 2014 to allow for symbolic weddings that are not legally recognized. The law was due to be revised in either 2024 or 2025, yet it is nowhere to be found on the parliament's legislative schedule. Backers of same-sex marriage also face an uphill legal battle in Singapore. In November 2022, the parliament overturned a law that criminalized sex between men, but the lawmakers also amended the constitution to block full marriage equality.
LGBTQ+ people tread carefully in Muslim-majority nations
Support for same-sex marriage in Muslim-majority Malaysia and Indonesia is the lowest in the region, with only 17% and 5% of survey respondents in favor, respectively. "Muslims report the lowest support for same-sex marriage of any religious group in any place surveyed," according to the Pew Research Center.
LGBTQ+ communities face diverse issues within Muslim-majority nations, as well. Same-sex relations are not outlawed in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim-majority country, except in Aceh province, where Sharia law is enforced.
"It is possible to live (closeted) lives in Muslim communities [in Indonesia], provided that people are extra careful," Dede Oetomo, a campaigner for LGBTQ rights in the archipelago, told DW.
In general terms, Oetomo said, "it is a war out there."
"From time to time, there is news of raids of gay gatherings or venues, disruption of pageants, or persecution of individuals by family or community members, sometimes by state law enforcement people," Oetomo said.
Brunei's laws call for stoning of gay men
Oetomo said there were reasons for hope — the number of faith leaders and communities supporting LGBTQ+ causes is increasing, which has helped introduce "a counternarrative of religious discourse."
"In some Eastern Indonesian cities," Oetomo said, "there is an attempt by LGBTQ organizations and intersectional allies to have anti-discrimination local ordinances, with some success in Ambon and Kupang."
Despite more people being in favor of same-sex marriage in Malaysia than in Indonesia
, there is still a legal ban on homosexuality in Malaysia, with violations punishable by a 20-year prison term. In 2023, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia would never recognize LGBTQ+ rights.
But nowhere in Southeast Asia is the intolerance as severe as in Brunei. It is one of 11 countries in the world that still has the death penalty for homosexuality. In 2019, Brunei introduced new laws that make sex between men punishable by stoning to death, although this was suspended after international backlash.
Philippines, Singapore still struggle with laws
Across the Philippines, regional authorities have passed a slew of local measures to protect LGBTQ+ communities from discrimination.
But, at the national level, an anti-discrimination bill based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression is still blocked after more than two decades of debate in parliament.
Meanwhile, in Singapore, the government recently passed its first workplace anti-discrimination law, which is expected to come into effect in 2026 or 2027. However, the bill does not cover discrimination over sexual orientation and gender identity.
Andrew, a 30-year-old Singaporean who asked that his full name not be used, told DW that this is a "massive" missed opportunity to discuss gender and sexuality issues and shift attitudes toward the LGBTQ+ community in the wealthy island state. He said removing media censorship of positive or neutral LGBTQ+ content would help move the nation toward more acceptance.
"It is disheartening to see that Singapore media still has not changed over the years," Andrew said, adding that gay characters are portrayed as "perverts or mentally disturbed."
"I think that just really fits the whole narrative that people in the LGBTQ community aren't good for society because that's what people see and that is what the older generation would then internalize," Andrew said.

Why Germany Is a Hotspot for Paramedical Courses in 2025
Germany, the country that has long been renowned in terms of engineering culture and the best higher educational institutions, is starting to emerge as one of the world-leading locations of paramedical studies. Germany is one of the hotspots of paramedical course in 2025 with affordable education with world-class infrastructure and demand growing of healthcare professionals. Be it discovering the field of physiotherapy, radiology, occupational therapy or emergency medical services, Germany has great opportunities to offer even international students particularly those who are Indian and those representing the developing world.
This is one of the most popular trends which we are going to discuss in this blog, and why it is better to study paramedics in Germany.
1. Rising Demand for Paramedical Professionals in Germany
Germany is also experiencing aging populationand a growing health care system. It is also estimated that by 2030 more than 36 percent of people in Germany will be aged over 60 years as per statistics made recently. The same demographic change is causing an increase in the demand of professionally endowed staff within the health and paramedical field such as physiotherapists, radiologists, medical lab technicians, and emergency medical technicians.
According to the demands of 2025, the healthcare system is still recovering and adapting to the pandemic, which makes this demand even more potent. Paramedical professionals are highly needed in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and elder care homes, giving a lot of opportunities to both local and international students.
2. High-Quality Education with Global Recognition
Education in Germany is the well-known system of having a practical, research oriented and a hands on training. In Germany, paramedical courses are offered in universities and vocational schools (Berufsschulen) and take the form of dual education, i.e. they are training in theory classes combined with clinical practising.
Courses are conformed to European qualification framework (EQF), and thus students pass out with internationally recognized certifications. The European, Middle East, and Asian markets are in high demand of graduates of German paramedical institutions.
Key benefits include:
Advanced simulation labs and clinical training facilities
Partnerships with leading hospitals and healthcare providers
Emphasis on patient-centric care and technological proficiency
3. Affordable or Tuition-Free Education
One of the strongest advantages of studying in Germany is its affordable cost of education. Public universities and vocational institutions offer tuition-free or low-cost education, even for international students. In most cases, students only need to pay a semester fee (usually around €200–€500), which covers administrative costs and public transportation.
This makes Germany an ideal destination for students from India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and other countries where affordability is a major concern.
Additional financial benefits:
Low cost of living in smaller cities and towns
Access to DAAD scholarships and other merit-based funding
Part-time work opportunities (up to 20 hours/week) to manage expenses
4. English-Taught Programs for International Students
Whereas German is mostly spoken and most favored when it comes to positions that relate to the patients an increasing number of universities now provide paramedical programs in English especially on postgraduate level. The provision of courses in Health Sciences, Medical Imaging, Physiotherapy and Biomedical Technology is gaining popularity in the English-medium version, which helps international students to clear the language barrier.
In addition, the majority of the schools provide the support of the German language as a subject in their programs, which allows the students to acquire the proficiency slowly and become more employable in the field of healthcare in Germany.
5. Streamlined Visa Process and Post-Study Work Opportunities
Germany has gone a long way in easing its student visa and post study working requirements particularly to those students studying in the healthcare and related subjects. The German student visa ( Visum zu Studienzwecken ) can be obtained by international students who are pursuing recognised courses in the area of paramedicals and this visa can enable them to live in the country, study in the country, and work in the country part time.
Upon successful finish of their course, the graduates may apply to receive an 18 months post-study work visa (Job Seeking Visa) to secure a job in Germany. The country is severely short of healthcare experts and with a shortage of options most students are able to secure employment during this time frame and have the option to become Blue Card or permanent residents.
6. Hands-On Clinical Exposure and Apprenticeships
The vocational education and paramedical education in Germany is also quite different as it pays lots of attention to real training. Paramedical students go through a mandatory clinical rotations, internships and apprenticeships in hospitals, laboratory plants and rehabilitation centers.
It does not only enhance the practical skills, but also makes graduates confident of making an entry to the work place. Development of programs is done in close association with healthcare providers and ensuring that the curriculum is up to date in the industry requirements.
Popular practical training modules include:
Patient assessment and first aid techniques
Diagnostic imaging and equipment handling
Rehabilitation exercises and therapeutic interventions
Emergency response and trauma care
7. Wide Range of Paramedical Specializations
Germany offers an impressive variety of specialized paramedical courses at diploma, undergraduate, and master’s levels. Some of the most popular courses include:
a. Physiotherapy
Focuses on therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation for patients with physical impairments.
b. Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology
Covers diagnostic imaging techniques including X-rays, MRI, CT scans, and ultrasound.
c. Occupational Therapy
Trains professionals to help individuals regain skills necessary for daily living and working.
d. Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Prepares students for ambulance and emergency response services.
e. Medical Laboratory Technology
Focuses on diagnostics, pathology, microbiology, and lab operations.
f. Speech Therapy and Audiology
Involves diagnosing and treating speech and hearing disorders.
These programs are offered by both public universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulen) and vocational institutes with strong healthcare affiliations.
8. Cultural Diversity and Global Student Community
Germany has a high number of international students with an estimate of more than 400,000 international students and is among the most multicultural countries to study in Europe. A warm reception to foreigners, student-friendly cities, such as Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, and Leipzig, and well-developed international student support systems contribute to a stress-free settlement of learners, who live in the country.
Most of the paramedical schools are with vibrant international student cells, orientation programs, and mentorship systems that assist the foreign students to orient towards German life and academic institutions.
9. Long-Term Career Growth and PR Opportunities
There are very good employment policies, professional advancement, and opportunities to settle down permanently in Germany among the people who complete the paramedical course there. The salaries of these paramedical specialists are quite competitive and the labor rights of paramedical professionals are good because they work in areas where there is high demand and people who want to undertake the roles which are in the healthcare are being encouraged by the government.
In Germany paramedical professional earn an average of between 35000 to 60000 euros annually depending on experience and area of specialization. A significant number of healthcare professionals can be issued EU Blue Card that enables applying permanent residence (Niederlassungserlaubnis) in about two years after they received the job contract.
10. Supportive Healthcare Ecosystem
Germany’s healthcare system is one of the best in the world. It provides an excellent environment for learning, professional networking, and career advancement. Students and professionals are supported by:
Government-regulated training standards
Modern infrastructure and equipment
Transparent job contracts and social security
Continuing education opportunities through medical congresses and seminars
Moreover, paramedical professionals in Germany have the opportunity to work across a range of settings, including:
Public and private hospitals
Rehabilitation and wellness centers
Diagnostic laboratories
Elderly care facilities
Emergency services (ambulance/EMS units)
Conclusion: Why Choose Germany in 2025 for Paramedical Courses?
Germany 2025 is a dream country to those who are interested in being paramedical professionals. It is a perfect mixture of high academic standards, hands-on practice, low prices, and high prospects of employment which are not so easy to see in one university. Are you an undergraduate student who is starting out or a medical science graduate and you want to specialize? Germany has a career process that is globally relevant.
Having an excellent system of healthcare, a national and international status, and a variety of employment opportunities, Germany is soon starting to become a major hotspot in the global outlook of paramedical education.

Male Infertility Treatment in Nepal: Everything You Need to Know
Infertility affects millions of couples worldwide, and in nearly 40% of the cases, the male partner plays a contributing role. In recent years, Male Infertility Treatment in Nepal has seen significant advancements, offering hope to couples struggling to conceive. With rising awareness, improved diagnostic tools, and the emergence of advanced fertility clinics, Nepal is quickly becoming a trusted destination for male fertility care.
This article covers everything you need to know about male infertility in Nepal—its causes, diagnosis, treatment options, costs, and where to seek help.
What Is Male Infertility?
Male infertility refers to a man's inability to cause pregnancy in a fertile female partner. It is commonly due to low sperm production, abnormal sperm function, or blockages that prevent the delivery of sperm. Other factors may include hormonal imbalances, chronic health issues, lifestyle choices, or environmental exposures.
Common Causes of Male Infertility
Understanding the root cause is the first step in effective treatment. The most common causes include:
Low sperm count (oligospermia)
Poor sperm motility or morphology
Varicocele (enlargement of veins in the scrotum)
Hormonal imbalances
Infections (e.g., STDs, mumps)
Ejaculation disorders
Undescended testicles
Genetic conditions
In Nepal, fertility specialists perform thorough diagnostic procedures to identify the specific cause before recommending a treatment plan.
Diagnosis and Testing in Nepal
Clinics offering Male Infertility Treatment in Nepal typically begin with a comprehensive evaluation that includes:
Semen Analysis: Checks sperm count, shape, and motility.
Hormonal Tests: Assesses testosterone and other hormone levels.
Scrotal Ultrasound: Detects structural abnormalities like varicoceles.
Genetic Testing: Identifies inherited issues affecting fertility.
Urinalysis and STI Screening: Rules out infections that can impact fertility.
These diagnostic services are available at top fertility centers in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar, and other major cities.
Popular Male Infertility Treatments in Nepal
Depending on the diagnosis, doctors may recommend one or more of the following treatments:
1. Medication and Hormone Therapy
Used to treat hormonal imbalances or infections. Common medications include clomiphene citrate, hCG injections, or antibiotics.
2. Surgical Interventions
Procedures like varicocelectomy, vasectomy reversal, or testicular sperm extraction (TESE) are offered at specialized clinics.
3. Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART)
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI): Direct placement of sperm into the uterus.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): Fertilization in a lab setting, often combined with ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) in cases of low sperm count or quality.
4. Lifestyle Modification Programs
Many clinics also focus on dietary improvements, exercise, stress management, and quitting smoking/alcohol—factors proven to impact male fertility.
Why Choose Male Infertility Treatment in Nepal?
There are several advantages to seeking fertility care in Nepal:
Affordability: Treatments are often more cost-effective compared to Western countries.
Qualified Specialists: Many clinics have internationally trained doctors and embryologists.
Personalized Care: Clinics in Nepal emphasize holistic and compassionate care.
Access to Modern Technology: Facilities are equipped with advanced ART tools and diagnostic labs.
Cost of Male Infertility Treatment in Nepal
Costs vary depending on the diagnosis and treatment plan. Approximate pricing includes:
Semen analysis: NPR 1,000–2,000
Medication: NPR 2,000–10,000/month
Varicocelectomy: NPR 50,000–80,000
IUI procedure: NPR 10,000–25,000
IVF with ICSI: NPR 2,00,000–3,50,000 per cycle
Many clinics also offer EMI options and package deals.
Final Thoughts
Infertility can be emotionally and physically challenging, but it is no longer a life sentence. With modern advancements in Male Infertility Treatment, Nepal has positioned itself as a reliable destination for couples seeking compassionate, effective, and affordable solutions.
If you or your partner are facing fertility issues, don’t hesitate to consult a certified fertility specialist in Nepal. The right diagnosis and treatment plan can make the dream of parenthood a reality.

World's Dangerous Airport - Lukla Airport

Lukla Airport, officially known as Tenzing-Hillary Airport, is the main gateway for trekkers heading to the Everest region. Located in the mountain town of Lukla in eastern Nepal, it marks the beginning of the classic route toward Mount Everest. Most travelers flying from Kathmandu arrive here before starting the multi-day journey from Lukla Airport to Everest Base Camp, passing through remote Sherpa villages and high-altitude trails in the Khumbu Valley.
Why Lukla Airport Matters for Your Everest Trek
Landing at Lukla Airport is the first step on your journey to the iconic Mount Everest Base Camp. Known for its breathtaking views and dramatic setting, this mountain airstrip connects thousands of trekkers each year to Sagarmatha National Park and the Everest Base Camp trek.
You won’t just be starting a hike - you're stepping into a remote part of the Himalaya, where modern roads end, and the trail to the world’s highest peak begins.
Lukla Flight Cost
Kathmandu to Lukla: One-way flights range from $210–$230 USD
Ramechhap to Lukla: One-way flights cost around $180–$200 USD
Pro Tip: During peak trekking seasons (March to May and September to November), flights to Lukla operate from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu. This seasonal shift helps reduce air traffic congestion at Kathmandu Airport but adds an extra leg to your journey. Plan accordingly and allow buffer time in your itinerary.
To catch the early flights from Ramechhap, trekkers usually leave Kathmandu around 1–2 AM and drive 4 to 5 hours to reach the airport on time. The road is winding, and the ride can be tiring, but it’s necessary for those flying to Lukla Airport during peak demand.
Location, Altitude, and Lukla Airport Height
Location : Solukhumbu District, Nepal
Lukla Airport Altitude : 2845m (9334 ft)
Lukla Airport Height above sea level places it amongst the highest airports in the world
Because of this elevation, your body begins to adapt to thinner air from day one - vital for reducing the risk of altitude sickness as you ascend to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m).
Runway Details – Lukla Airport Length & Safety
Runway Length : 527 meters (1729 ft)
Slope : 11.7% gradient
Surface : Paved Asphalt
Lukla Airport Departures : Operate early morning (6:00 am - 12:00 pm)
The short, slanted runway is what makes Lukla Airport so well-known. Only specially trained pilots fly here, making landings and takeoffs a skill-intensive process. Despite its reputation, flights are generally safe, though delays are frequent due to weather.
Unpredictable Skies – Lukla Airport Weather Conditions
Lukla Airport weather is unpredictable. Morning skies can be clear, but thick fog or winds may roll in by noon. Since there’s no radar tower, pilots rely on visual flying, so flights are often delayed or cancelled. Always plan 1–2 buffer days in case your Lukla departure is rescheduled.
Lukla Airport to Everest Base Camp – What to Expect
The trek from Lukla Airport to Everest Base Camp covers roughly 65 kilometers one way. Most trekkers complete it in 8–10 days, including time for acclimatization.
Trek Highlights:
Namche Bazaar - Cultural and trade center of Khumbu region
Tengboche Monastery - Spritual stop with mountain views
Kala Patthar - Panoramic views of Mt. Everest
Everest Base Camp - The final destination at 5364 meters
Along the trail, you’ll pass yak caravans, cross suspension bridges, and sleep in local teahouses that offer basic comforts.
Travel Tips for Your Lukla Journey
Before You Go:
Book flights early especially in peak spring and autumn seasons.
Carry essentials incase your luggage arrives later.
Who Should Travel Through Lukla?
Beginner Trekkers: Starting your journey from Lukla Airport gives you time to adapt to high altitudes.
Adventure Seekers: Flying to the Himalayas is an adrenaline rush in itself.
Luxury Travelers: Book a helicopter ride to Everest Base Camp for stunning aerial views and skip the trek itinerary.
Flying into Lukla Airport is one of the most thrilling parts of the Everest Base Camp trek. Whether you're trekking to base camp, flying for a trip to base camp and exploring the Everest Base Camp, your journey begins here.
Prepare for delays, enjoy the mountain air, and embrace the adventure.
Key Takeaway:
Lukla Airport isn’t just an airport—it’s the door to your Everest Base Camp journey. It connects you to the heart of Sagarmatha and sets the tone for your climb to Everest Base Camp.
If you’re planning your Everest Base Camp hike, make sure to understand the route, plan for the weather, and respect the altitude. This remote mountain runway is your first challenge - and the beginning of something unforgettable.

Brewing Dreams | My First Day at Barista School in Kathmandu

Waking up early on a chilly Kathmandu morning, I felt more nervous than usual. Today wasn’t just another day—I was finally starting my journey at barista school. As someone who’s always loved the smell of fresh coffee but never really understood how to make it, enrolling in a barista course felt like the perfect blend of passion and purpose.
Walking Into the Unknown (With the Scent of Coffee)
I arrived at the training center in Bagbazar, greeted by the rich aroma of espresso and the soft hum of machines already at work. It was comforting. Inside, the room was full of students just like me—some nervous, some excited, all curious.
Our instructor, a seasoned barista who had worked in Dubai, started with the basics: the history of coffee, types of beans, and what makes a good espresso shot. It wasn’t all theory though—we soon gathered around the espresso machine for our first practical lesson.
Hands-On from Day One
Holding the portafilter for the first time felt like holding a paintbrush before the first stroke. Grinding the beans, tamping them evenly, and locking the group head into place—it was all new and honestly a bit intimidating. But when my first espresso poured out, golden and aromatic, I couldn’t help but smile.
The day continued with milk steaming tutorials and trying (and failing) to pour a heart in a latte. It turns out latte art is just as much about patience as it is technique. I wasn’t perfect, but I wasn’t alone—everyone was learning, and that made it easier to laugh off mistakes.
More Than Just Coffee
What stood out the most wasn’t just the technical training. It was the focus on presentation, communication, and the little details that transform coffee into an experience. We were being trained not just as baristas, but as hospitality professionals.
If you're someone who loves coffee and wants a skill that can actually turn into a job—locally or internationally—barista training in Nepal is an opportunity worth exploring. It’s affordable, practical, and honestly a lot of fun.
Looking Ahead
As I left the center that day, I felt a quiet sense of pride. I hadn’t just learned how to make coffee—I had taken my first step into a new chapter.
One day down, many cups to go.
