Whether you're here from my AO3 or from the great beyond, I'd like to welcome you to my blog page. This is mainly intended as a master-post detailing a few things about me, a list of my AO3 fanfics with hyperlinks, what you can expect from my blog -- so forth and so on. I'll probably edit this over time, so if you're ever unsure about something, this would be the post to consult.

IdleGlowingPixels is my unhinged (currently main) blog. I'm a multifandom writeblr account, mainly focused on fanfics for franchises with low fantasy, romance, and action (mainly superheroes, for some reason...?) elements. I also dabble a bit into horror, but usually I'm more interested in horror that's not super gruesome or disturbing.

I'm currently in the process of developing another writeblr blog specializing in my original works. When I complete it, I'll tag it here.

I don't even know why I still care for this dumpster fire || I'm not continuing past Season 5, I'm sorry I can't do it no more q-q || I intend to make an AU fic rewriting the series in the future!

Five Nights At Freddy's (2014)

My only experience with the franchise is through YouTube || Personally consider the Steel Wool era not canon to the Scott Cawthon era, but do enjoy SW's games || If I do post about it outside of reblogs it's probably for personal thoughts on upcoming/newly released content, or for a Human AU I'm not planning on writing a fic for but I might post about here and there idk

Happy Showcase Sunday!

I'm a fantasy writer, and I focus on the interconnected universe in which all of my work (so far at least) takes place. I'm a college student and an INFJ who battles with perfectionism. I'm Ace, have chronic pain, and idk for sure, but am likely on the autistic spectrum. I struggle with anxiety and low levels of depression and am low-key ocd. I have two cats who help in my creative process who I love very much.

I have this thing where my dominant personality is being a reserved ray of sunshine, who won't swear to save her life. Meanwhile, the other side of my personality is pure chaos and destruction that is channeled into making my characters' lives miserable and more complex. So beware of the war between these two sides of my personality.

My primary WIP is the first book of a series called Legacy of the Fallen. I currently have up until Chapter 14 available to read.

The Cursed

Summary: After being driven from their home and countless lives lost among them, the Hecathian people are striving to rebuild what was lost. The Academy, a safe haven and reintroduction to their lost society, seeks other survivors. Annamarie has recently made a fated move with her father, being thrown into a world of discovery, danger, and more mysteries to be uncovered. As she learns more, she begins to question who she can really trust while everything she thought she knew fades into an illusion. Though it starts off following the daily lives of four seemingly average students at a random school, it's quickly revealed that there's more to them that even they may be unaware of. One of these four, Jacob, serves as a bridge to the reality that their true identities had been hidden from them after their parents and families went into hiding thirteen years ago after their people suffered a massacre that ended with millions dead and their world in the hands of their enemies. They are connected with a sanctuary that serves as cultural re-education and emersion for their people, which is ruled by Maishear, Jacob's father. Though this academy is supposed to be safe, it is plagued with political controversy, mysterious disappearances, and a traitor in their midst. The newcomers and Jacob's team are thrown together to face the challenges ahead and the shadows of the past that plague them.

Vixen

Follows the story of Roselle and members of their team two years before Legacy of the Fallen takes place. Roselle Jakoste is one of the few remaining members of the royal Verairacur family. Now, at fifteen, she finds herself falling for the son of the man that destroyed her family. Meanwhile, a mystery begins to reveal itself as political tension within the academy starts to grow.

Ruin

This is a dark series following survivors of the attack that stayed on Ariya. As their home planet is held under occupation, remaining Hecathians have to fight and hide to survive, while the life they knew crumbles around them.

Note: if you are sensitive to death, grief, or dark themes, this is not the series for you. While all my series are dark and involve more mature themes, this one is consistently more so.

I try to update all of my series somewhat regularly, though Expanded works are updated more regularly, as chapters are far shorter and editing is less time-consuming.

My goal with my writing is to create immersive stories for readers to enjoy. I love my characters, and I hope that you love them as much as I do!

Hi there, do you have any recs for long drarry fics? I'm not very good at finding them

Hello!! I’ve done a rec list for long, slow burn fics in the past, so please check that out because I love every fic on that list to death! But OH MAN I could talk about long Drarry fics for the rest of my life, so here are some more! All very long, but not necessarily slow burn this time ;)

What We Pretend We Can’t See by gyzym (131K)- Seven years out from the war, Harry learns the hard truth of old history: it’s never quite as far behind you as you thought.This is the only one I am going to copy from the slow burn rec list, because I just want to rec it every day of my life. It is quite literally my number one favorite fic ever, and I am not exaggerating. Do you see how serious I am right now? I am never serious. This fic is so amazing it turned me serious. I’m not even going to summarize it again because if you trust me at all you will just go read it nooooooow.

Turn by Saras_Girl (307K)- One good turn always deserves another. Apparently. Of course in the middle of declaring my favorite fic ever, I had to remember Turn and how utterly brilliant it is and how I’ve reread it and it was STILL utterly brilliant the second time and have a crisis because MAYBE THIS IS ACTUALLY MY FAVORITE FIC???! Aaah help, I can never choose! Anyway, are you a drarry fan who hasn’t read Turn yet? Really? Well, in that case FUCK YOU BECAUSE I AM SO JEALOUS YOU GET TO READ IT FOR THE FIRST TIME YOU LUCKY BASTARD. *ahem* Anyway, in this amazing fic, epilogue-compliant and worn-down Harry goes to an alternate dimension in which he is happily married to Draco, owns the best pet snake ever, and makes furniture for a living (love artsy Harry

Tales from the Special Branch Series by femmequixotic (272K so far)- (Summary is from the second part of the series, which is the first long installment: Lost in Your Arms) Three months after their brief encounter, Draco has almost forgotten about Potter–or so he tells himself. Then a Dark wizard shows up on the Auror radar and all hell breaks loose. Draco will have to choose between everything he holds dear–everything he’s worked so hard for–and a few stolen moments of passion with a certain green-eyed Inspector, once his sworn enemy and now something rather different entirely. He’ll make the right choice, won’t he? Who is he kidding? He’ll ruin everything, as per usual. Bad choices and the name Malfoy go hand in hand.This series is a WIP, but a regularly updated one and the FIRST CHAPTER OF THE NEXT BOOK IS BEING RELEASED TOMORROW AND I AM SO EXCITED!!! I feel so lucky to be following along with it as it comes out, because let me tell you, this is an instant classic! There is lovely forbidden fornication between a boss (Harry) and his subordinate (Draco) (the prequel was written for the kink fest so you can bet the sex is SCORCHING), a very compelling mystery/case, and truly brilliant characterization! I identify so much with this Draco. And I also love that Harry isn’t the perfect flawless cinnamon roll he is often portrayed as in fics. Everyone in this series is very human, and I am just dying of excitement to find out what happens to them next! I know I’ve already gushed about this fic in several other places recently, and I’m sorry to repeat myself but I really can’t get enough! PLEASE JOIN ME IN ROOTING FOR @femmequixotic AS SHE KINDLY DEDICATES HER SOUL TO US ALL FOR THE NEXT BIT OF HER LIFE

Secrets by Vorabiza (395K)- Beginning with Draco’s unexpected arrival at the Dursleys, Harry’s summer after sixth year becomes filled with activity and many secrets. As his summer progresses, Harry generates several unexpected allies as he finds himself actively becoming the leader of the Light side. OMG it’s the first fic I ever read!! The fic that brought me into the fandom! I have suuuuuch a soft spot for this fic, and it is just so so so good! It’s probably my favorite adventure/wizarding war plot of all. Harry is just so confident and he embraces his Slytherin side and really Gets Shit Done, and it’s SO SATISFYING. Also, I love any fic in which Draco helps with the Horcrux hunt. Also there’s a baaaaaaby (no mpreg) and mentor!Snape, which is really nice. This fic was written post-HBP, but is SURPRISINGLY accurate in its predictions. Oh, and the sex is super hot too ;)

Checkmate by Naadi (245K)- Draco has the perfect plan to get Harry Potter and challenges him to a game of Dare Chess. But is it love, or betrayal, he has in mind? A real chess game is played throughout the story.This fic is so lovely! It’s an “alternate 7th year AU”, written after Goblet of Fire. It’s fluffy and funny and lovey and then dramatic and passionate and YEAH I LOVED IT. The real time game of chess, in which Harry and Draco take turns making “moves” (on each other) is just such a wonderful idea. Read the author’s note for more info! 

Leo Inter Serpentes by Aeternum (658K combined so far)- Just one conversation between two eleven year old boys goes slightly differently, and the world changes. Just how much will be different with Harry being sorted into Slytherin, and how much will stay the same?SLYTHERIN HARRY ALERT SLYTHERIN HARRY ALERT! Yep, a Slytherin Harry rewrite, and a REALLY GOOD ONE. Like usually I love the idea of Slytherin Harry, and then once I start reading I either find I’m bored because everything is just a repeat of canon or I can’t get into it because everyone is so OOC. But not this one! This fic is engaging and different enough from canon to be interesting and I love the eleven-year-old baby drarry friendship that eventually turns to romance! This fic also features benevolent mentor!Snape, which I suppose is either an enticement or a warning depending on your preferences. You SHOULD be warned that it’s a WIP. But the author is currently actively posting the 6th book, and I have hope it won’t be abandoned :)

Any Instrument by dicta_contrion (131K)- Draco Malfoy wouldn’t go back to England for anything less than an exceptional case. Being asked to figure out why Harry Potter can’t control his magic might be exceptional enough to qualify.Okay I have a HUGE thing for healer!draco and this fic portrayed him so so so perfectly. Harry is having complications with his magic after an operation gone wrong. So Draco comes from France and of course they can’t get together because Draco is Harry’s healer but OMG THE UST and then let me just say that when they finally do have sex, it’s the most beautiful, moving, heart-stopping sex scene you will ever read. Like, I felt it in my soul. And the character development is so compelling and there are literally no flaws in this fic whatsoever.

Starts With a Spin by Maxine (120K)- It started with the spin of a bottle, and now Harry and Draco have gotten themselves so far into their own game there’s almost no way out again. Except to keep playing.AAAAH this fic has all the teenage drarry feels! They’re so in character, always trying to one-up each other! And like these constant party games are happening and they’re being “forced” to go further and further with each other by their friends until they’re actually having sex, and YET THEN THE WAR IS STILL ON AS WELL, and it’s just super well-written and great! Another classic :D

Changing of the Guard by Lomonaaeren (210K)- Need a perfect stranger? Ask Metamorphosis. Harry Potter runs the business secretly and becomes whoever’s needed for each occasion. He’s not sure whether he should be more surprised, worried, or amused when Draco Malfoy comes to Metamorphosis and requests an actor who can play his boyfriend so that his parents will disown him. Yet Harry has even more dangerous choices after he creates Brian, Draco’s “perfect” boyfriend. Draco doesn’t know who Brian is, but he’s trying to find out—and now so is Harry.Aaah Lomonaaeren! Drarry writer of my dark, dark heart! And yet I know some people aren’t huge fans of her style and I don’t want to be reccing her fics all the time, so I try to keep the Lomon recs relatively infrequent. But if you are looking for long fics and you do like her style, I’m pretty sure she can keep you busy for like an entire year. This woman is more prolific than Steven King, and it’s a true blessing. As for this particular fic, Harry basically has Dissociative Identity Disorder, but he has been making the most of it by running a whoever-you-need-for-hire business. Only then Draco arrives, and Harry’s world had to come crashing down at some point and that point is NOW, and the drama is just so so good and this fic gave me ALL THE FEELS. It’s possibly my favorite of her fics :)

"So... what's your name?" Barry asked, indicating to the yellow ID badge on the guy's dark grey shirt, decorated with a smiling coffee cup and the words 'I'm new, ask me my name'. The guy looked down at said badge as if it was the bane of his existence. There was a tense second where Barry considered just backing up and taking his seat again to drown himself in his coffee before the guy looked back up and responded.

"Len," he said simply and Barry's grin turned a little less nervous.

Barry had given up trying to get over his feelings for Iris when he walked into Jitters one morning and was stunned silent by the cute new barista. Maybe this guy could finally be the one to help Barry move on.

Thantophobia (19/19 | 67,736 words | Explicit | Complete | Part 2 of the Break the ice Between Us Series | Awaiting Sequel)

“Freeze,” Barry heard Len drawl over the comms as he arrived with Lisa at the jewellery store. Len was decked out in his superhero outfit while pointing his cold gun at the thief and Lisa, quick to recover from being carried at superspeed, lifted her gold gun at the man as well.

“Why don’t you be as good as gold and drop that bag,” she quipped.

“Is that ice really worth your freedom?” Len continued and Barry sighed as the robber looked frantically between Golden Glider and Captain Cold, his hand twitching towards the gun on his belt.

“Do you have to do this every time?” Barry muttered at the same time that Cisco piped up over the comms with: “do they remind anyone else of Team Rocket or is it just me?”

Just as his relationship with Len begins to settle, a meta-human with a personal grudge against Barry forces him to face his fears or risk losing everyone that he loves.

Flashpoint (28/39 | 117,789 words | Explicit | WIP)

At first, Barry’s new world seemed perfect: His mother and father were alive and happy in this new timeline and it was everything he’d ever wanted since he was eleven years old. But he soon realised that the cracks he’d created in time could have deadly consequences. And when his meddling through time inevitably gets undone, Barry seeks out the arms of the man he'd fallen in love with: Leonard Snart. But that might prove to be easier said than done.

He allowed himself to look over at Barry. The younger man was huddled close to the fire and seeking as much warmth as he could get from the small flames. For a moment, only a moment, Len thought about offering to huddle together for more heat. But he shut that thought down quickly. He couldn’t allow himself to indulge in naïve fantasies. Barry, unaware of Len’s attention on him, was staring into the flames. The warm yellow light flickered across his face and highlighted his features beautifully. The kid really was a sight to behold…

Or the fic where Barry and Len get trapped inside a fairy tale book, without powers or the cold gun, and have to work together to get free. Lots of thievery ensures as well as an unfortunately timed sleeping curse.

He looked from Barry’s mark to his own, examining them for differences. But there were none. They were in the exact same place, the exact same colour, exact same shape. They were identical. For a moment, Len couldn’t think. He was completely side-lined. But then Barry started laughing and it drew Len’s attention. Barry (Len’s soulmate!) had the happiest grin on his face. His eyes were sparkling with it. Boy… if he knew what he had just stumbled into then he would not be laughing.

Or the meta!Len soulmates AU that no one asked for. Filled with puns, mischief, and a certain thief’s attempts at wooing Barry Allen using his cryokinetic powers.

“There are some rules, of course. Lisa will fill you in on those while I’m gone. If you’re willing to agree to them, then hang around for a while. Get to know the crew. And come back tomorrow with your answer, 10 pm sharp. If you’re not on time, then I’ll take it as a no.” Leonard had been moving towards the door and when he got there he turned to look back at Barry, his eyes roamed up and down Barry’s body for a moment which made the younger man blush and his heart quicken. “And that would be a shame,” Leonard drawled. Barry nodded and swallowed thickly as his mouth became suddenly dry from the fire in Leonard’s eyes. “I hope to see you tomorrow, Barry,”

When Barry wakes up from his coma with superspeed he is asked to go undercover in the Rogues, an elite team of metahuman criminals who are hell-bent on the destruction of the new metahuman laws. He agrees and everything is going well at first… except Barry hadn’t planned on being so attracted to Captain Cold.

You Stole My Heart (14/14 | 45,674 words | Explicit | Complete | Awaiting Potential Sequel)

There is a new thief in Central City, someone who can move at extraordinary speeds, and Len can’t help but be intrigued by his new competition

“The name’s Captain Cold. And I’d love to stay and catch up,” Len drawled, stepping away. “But I really have to run. See you around, Kid.”

“What? I don’t get a codename?” The speedster muttered and Len noticed a smile on his face. Good. This would be more fun if they were both enjoying the game.

“If you want a cool nickname, then you’ve got to earn it, Kid.” Len, knowing he only had another 53 seconds until the ice-like substance around the speedster’s feet became pliable enough for him to break free, turned on his heel and strode out of the building with the diamond necklace in his gloved hand.

Commander Cold (1/1 | 9,625 words | Teen | Complete)

Cisco was sitting in front of the computers with his back to Len, as usual, as Barry hovered around in front of the engineer. Except, right now Barry currently had dark blond hair and was dressed in a blue parka with a version of the cold gun attached to his thigh. Barry had the worst luck. All he’d wanted to do was ask Snart for a favour but, somehow, he’d stumbled his way into a Rogues meeting, and now Barry found himself stuck in a bar, surrounded by his enemies, with Captain Cold of all people as his only friend. What could go wrong?

Len knew the second that he saw Lisa approach what she would think; Barry was just too open, too caring, too tactile. And Len was letting Barry get away with it all. He knew what that would look like; but he also knew that going along with this little lie, letting his Rogues all believe that he and Barry were dating – no matter how absurd that idea might be – was the best way of getting Barry out of there with his secret identity unscathed… So, the Rogues were drinking with the Flash tonight. No big deal.

When it suddenly became a regular occurrence, however… well, that's when things started getting a little more complicated.

Len gets his first real glimpse at who Barry Allen actually is beneath that cowl and is surprised to find that he likes what he sees. However, Barry is so on-edge at the thought of his upcoming fight with the Reverse Flash that Len thinks he could do with some good, no-strings-attached, stress release. The thing is, Barry doesn’t really do ‘no-strings-attached’, and Len comes to realise that – when it comes to Barry Allen – perhaps he doesn’t do that anymore either.
