So a lot of people have been asking me what my plans are for Rosalina.

She is a part of my AU, and unlike most characters.. I have her whole story alllll figured out. Everything from her origin story, her design, the Blue star Festival, heck, even the food at the festival has been dug into. And I wanted to draw a series of comics about her story but.. thinking about how much effort that was going to take was really daunting...

I haven’t really had the mental or physical energy to do anything lately. Let alone draw. I mean, I have a nasty cold so maybe that’s why-

Anyway, I didn’t have the energy to make her comic. And I’m not sure if I ever will.. but I wanted to share something about Rosalina. So here I have some sketches of the different outfits the characters were going to wear, and my redesign for Rosalina.

There’s so much we put into her story and all the little details, but right now I just don’t really have the energy to share it all.. So I guess here’s to hoping I get my energy back sometime and can make more polished content for her wooooo...

OK SO THIS ONE WAS MADE A WHILE AGO THAT I NEVER FINISHED UNTIL NOW (going on break from posting to just make stuff and pile them up surprisingly makes you productive)

ive had this idea for a while now, esp when i first made the first two pages. i just never had the time to fully contextualise what narry might say in return until now where he actually has advice (which i had to think abt)

like usual, im writing from experience and personal ideas bc for a while ive been genuinely unsure as to how i wanted my narrator to be. he's at his third redesign (roughly, this is the third outfit he's ever had and im counting design sheets as redesigns)

a part of me is glad its satiating the side that wants "just an old man" narry. but on the other my minds screaming its not 'creative' or 'unique' or 'different' enough compared to other ppls narrators. which are way more recognizable and more creative in their designs. and thus this is where this comic came from

im gonna explore my narrators design again for a bit. probably not a full rehaul since at this point the grey n white swoop is a standard. but with me experimenting maybe i can find something that satiates both sides of what i want and hopefully get to put that man in more silly outfits asdjashdg

also, if u cant tell by some of the comics ive been making recently/the vent comic a year ago where narry got his swoop from, i like writing my thought processes into plotlines for tsp bc my minds constantly changing, so might as well have it adapt sdjh

Eleceed Redeisgns

Don’t get the wrong idea I’m not trying to fix anything (despite my issues with 75% of the bestie crew having the same hairstyle) ZHENA-nim art did really well on this series and I can definitely see her improvements!!

I find redesigning characters I like as a good exercise for me since I’m trying to practice my character design skills! I’ve also added headcannons so strap in.

First victim, istg he doesn’t even look like the same person lol.

- gave him the :3 mouth bc he has the little shit potential especially after wrapping everyone around his finger

- Longer hair comes from the hc that he is the kind of person who would hide behind it and to match his dads

- changed his hair to brown bc the blond colour blended with his skin too much (helps with contrast)

- The bag is to help him carry cats and more cat food

- Oversized clothes to wallow in, also to hide himself or something

- While Jiwoo and Kayden are implied to wear the same size clothing I still think Jiwoo’s clothes would be tight on Kayden

- It helps Kayden learn about Jiwoo as a person since he would question why his clothes were so ill fitting on him

- Colour palette was hard af, but I mostly went with warmer colours and added blue as an accent so he could match Kayden

- As u can tell the only thing that fits him perfectly is the school uniform, even then he likes to size up the blazer

- His bag would start with no buttons and over time more would be added based on where he’s been and the friends he makes

- Glasses are up for debate but they look nice on him

- gave him more down turned eyes so he could resemble Kang Daniel a little more

barely changed, basically the outfit was the only thing to go

- He looks like the kind of kid that would wear headphones all day

- His glasses fucked off to somewhere and I brought brought them back THEY R HERE TO STAY

- The dress shirt in his casual outfit is the same one from his uniform

- Bc of his upbringing with the doctor guy I would think he doesn’t have that many clothes to begin with and sees little point in getting more

- Ofc that will change later with his friends

- His name tag says his last name is Park but he doesn’t rlly have one and the wiki says so too, so it’s just something he had to give the school or somethin

- More lanky build? Basically a bean pole.

Again who the fuck is this

- gave him his melanin back, like all of it

- He seems more the varsity jacket type guy than Wooin

- Hair is based off Yeonjun’s lover loser era

- Tried to give him that international student type of beat vibe bc his sister is the big boss of the SK awakener scene

- i feel like with this hairstyle it’s easier to imagine him with black hair but I digress

- His jacket starts off with no patches and they’re slowly added on when he spends time with the bestie crew

MY GIRLIE!!

- Changed her uniform to be more fancy based off of the reaction of other students in Jiwoo’s school, the pendant on her bow is her own addition.

- No respectable Gen Z wears ripped skinny jeans… Controversial

- a converse girlie for sure

- Her hair is kinda based off the Mafuyu White Day card, either way she has to give gender

- Are they called arm warmers? They give her an interesting silhouette and very distinguishable from the guys

- Alternatively she wears a turtle neck and a sweater/large T-Shirt when it’s too cold + arm warmers just cause

Some other stuff:

- yes, all the redesigns will eventually include some element of blue like Jiwoo to help connect them and signify how close they are

- a lot of them were made with a go out shopping episode in mind to help us learn more about them

- maybe I’ll write a fic but finals r chasing my ass rn so eventually

Sprout and Zipp redesigns

i dont like Zipp's original design that much, but i think shes okay. She just a bit too much of a stereotype that couldve been played with more. (royal kid doesnt want to be queen/king and royal rebels because the common folk deserve to know the truth) i kinda like that she wants to be a detective, but i think i would make her a royal guard.

Shes half Zebra in my redesign, so is Pip, but doesnt realize it because she's never seen a zebra before. this would make a plothole with her mom but I could write that out. if not, oh well.

i think i used too many colors so thats going to change, my only real problem with the design tbh. i put hair over her tail feathers, which i might remove or figure out a way to execute my idea better.

also her cutie mark is based on the tarot card Justice, i thought it'd be cool (it is)

Sprouts design was the fastest to draw, because he has the simplest one haha woops, and i think i might change him the least in the final.

personally, i like Sprout and wish he wasn't pushed aside without a proper redemption. maybe not a whole arc but a proper apology and being shown trying to be more open minded would be nice.

if i had control over g5, I'd make him the sixth member of the mane 6 instead of Misty; or if i had to keep Misty, make the mane 6 the mane 7 instead.

I think his element would be acceptance. i also think he'd be best friends with Izzy.

i also have an alt design for him from my personal rewrite of the movie. ill post that sometime later.

my honest review of helluva boss after getting stupid with a couple friends and watching it all the way through because weve known each other for years and think tht kind of thing is funny is that it's, like, decidedly mid but like at a point on the mid scale where i can wish that it was decent. like if you redesigned all of the characters (because its not that some of the jokes that weren't just "hey we can say the word fuck did you know?" werent funny they were just coming out of the mouths of character designs that gave me carpal tunnel to Imagine drawing much less animating) and gave the script another pass with, like, maybe a professional writer who could refine it so they don't say fuck every four words and took out that one episode that entirely retconned the main relationship that viv wants you to root for it could be like. fine. middling show that airs on adult swim late at night and only a few people end up catching. you can tell it's a side project developed much later than hazhotel and that works entirely in its favor: vivziepop still can't kill her darlings but at least this time she's less attached to bullshit she probably made up in high school. it gets to sidestop most of the problems with hazhotel because of its smaller scale & the fact it simply does Not dwell on the whole "yo why are all of your sinners marginalized people" thing like it simply does not have the chance. and also they're not major characters so they're Not.

the show's biggest problem is just how ridiculously yaoibrained vivienne is - which results in the classic sidelining female characters & just... like, fucking up the characterizations of both them and the guys she wants to ship whenever she feels like it'll make the former or latter party feel less or more sympathetic respectively whenever it's convenient. like initially stolas' wife wants him dead and/or divorced because he's an asshole cheater. like, yeah, that's how it works, but later it's just like Well actually no she's just hated him and tried to get him killed looney tunes style the Whole Time they've been married which on paper is kind of funny but it's, like, come on man this guy sucks. he's an asshole that couldn't give less of a shit about his family. you're told that his only redeeming quality is trying to keep his family together because he cares about his daughter but then in the episode dedicated to him and his daughter he simply does not show it, instead spending the entire thing hitting on the main character who, in the context of what we're shown in that story, embodies the whole "he's a piece of shit but has the one redeeming quality of giving a shit about his daughter" INFINITELY better than we're supposed to believe w stolas. it's fascinating.

theres generally just a lot of Tell Don't Show going on when it comes to retconning these things. this is getting long sorry so basically ill just say all of the episodes written by people who Aren't vivziepop are like. honestly i'd go so far as to say like. decent. i think she needs to just kill herself and give her shit to someone else or something man idk

"Who are the main characters?"

In my version of fnaf it's definitely William, as we follow him around the most during the story!

Previously I was really focused on Fredbear's Family Diner, and the origin to everything, because I love Fredbear's Family Diner

But while the diner is no doubt very fun to explore. I realized it's not what I really want from fnaf yknow?? I'm still trying to flesh the origins of everything out don't worry, but now I'm gonna TRY and be more focused on the fnaf 1 crew/the 90s location!

Maybe Fazbear Frights too, bc I love and adore Phone Dude

Maybe ill focus on the frights for the ballpit au, more than the "wouldn't it be cool if William wasn't evil and could interact with Phone Dude" that it currently is

"Main animatronics in your au?"

Definitely the classics! I'd say all the animatronics from the first 3 games are my priority here. as I'm trying to keep the 5 missing kids, the puppet and the purple guy the main focus of the story

Since it's mostly gonna be in the 90s location with a focus on the 5 missing kids, it's only natural the classics get the spotlight ^v^

I'm also gonna -try- and give the puppet more relevance! I need to figure out what I'm doing for the Fright's and if the story ends there to see what I want to do with her though

They all possess whatever their favorite animatronic was in life! William always gained the trust of his victims first so he knew which character they'd want to be

And, I've been refreshing my knowledge on some canon recently, and I really like how in the books the kids don't seem to know that William killed them, or that they're dead at all. They're just playing pretend with their bunny friend </3

So I'm tempted to add that! Bc it lets the kids be happy and devastates me

I can't give details on each individual yet, as I'm making up the cast and I've already posted about the foxy child. So all I know is Susie and Cassidy.

But hmm. Susie's dog possesses Carl the Cupcake

And Cassidy is different in my version. They can still be the most vengeful of the kids, but idk, I've never really liked how ucn characterized Cassidy. Being the "one you should not have killed" and forcing all the others to stay and torment William when they want to move on. I've never liked that

Decided to "redesign" the fnaf 1 location to make more sense to me as a pizza & arcade and as a functioning building

Accidentally made a distinct lack of places to put emergency exits for guests, which only adds to the authenticity as a Fazbear building I think

Animatronics can't see or enter the Saferoom or Entrance

I am willing to take questions and criticisms bc I do want to make this the map of my version

Gameplay wise, I'm not sure if the connecting rooms and lack of dead ends makes this harder or easier to survive. I'm assuming harder

"Have you ever thought of the menus they would sell in your AU?"

I think different locations had different menus!

Like the Diner! I think it had a little bit of everything, in line with 'Diner' name. All homemade pizzas, burgers, fries, chicken, milkshakes. It takes a LONG wait for your order to be done but you can bet its gonna be the most delicious food you've ever had. There was also a salad bar added later on in the Diner's life. The diner had the most unique menu, as it wasn't really trying to be a pizza and arcade like establishment, they just happened to be similar

When Fazbear Entertainment bought the company, they quickly slashed the Diner's menu. To be far more cost efficient, and so the restaurant could be considered competition with other pizza and arcades around at the time.

So Freddy Fazbear's Pizza was alot more focused on pizza, and pizza related items! Having such things as breadsticks, cheese bread, nachos, chicken wings, dessert pizzas and so on! They kept the salad bar, but it wasn't as well maintained

I like to think one of the locations, maybe '87? Had a pizza buffet. And of course like most pizza buffets had pasta and salads as well

Do you think any of them ever sold alcohol? I think so. Not the Diner, but at least 1 Freddy's era HAD to have had beer. Pizza places loved to have beer

I hope it's okay to show this as fanart given Chapter 9 has been completed and out for an while now, but decided to draw Dr. Tyler Chase for this fanart, using his flashback design, as I felt it would fit, I could honestly see Tyler just having an moment like this where he just breaks down in guilt and prays for forgiveness of taking so many lives just to give them peace.

Tyler was kinda difficult to draw, but I managed somehow the tears were the hard part along with what colour glow I wanted to give to his sigil, decided to mix things up with red and grey, honestly this could work for an What lies within drawing for Tyler.

Also did an James Lunagazer in redesigned Ancient Greek outfit for once he learns that he's got Apollo's powers, trust me, this drawing went through the most changes as I struggled to figure what colours would work, as I didn't want to completely lose the blue for James, so decided to mix both blue and gold together with some silver here and there.

James was going to have an headdress like Tyler, but I figured it would be overused so I chose to go with an sun inspired headdress, and I know that this Apollo design might not be what the manga depicts depending if someone has Apollo later down the line, but I have the idea that maybe the God's appearance changes depending on the user as an way of explaining it.

As for the sigil, I wasn’t completely sure what to give James, as even though Apollo is Asclepius' father, I didn’t want James to have the same sigil Derek and probably Naomi have, so I went with the devotion to Apollo symbol and gave James green as his eye colour for his powers, sort of like mixing his clothing colours, and it symbolically adds to him slowly making steps to reconciling his painful aspects of the past and moving forward into the future.

For James' actual powers, I'd figure it would be something to do with an lyre motif in terms of sound, an possible name being the "Soothing Choir" like for example, say James was dealing with an extremely anxiety filled patient, his voice would change tone to an soothing aura and it can calm said patient and relieve their pain for an time.

Another possibility considering I'm going with the idea that Apollo has multiple powers being the father of Asclepius and healing, is that James can possibly hear certain "melodies" in an patient's body, allowing him to find problems faster by detecting "discords" in the melody, sort of like Mood Matrix from Ace Attorney pretty much it would be heightened hearing, one such draw back could be that if overused James could risk going deaf for an time along with sensory overload.

And another could do more with the bow and arrow, like James could find certain weak points in G.U.I.L.T strains and then accurately strike them like an arrow similar to Derek's healing touch and references plague arrows from Apollo, except it would be used to save lives.

Pretty much James could be more leaning to an support type kind of role, but he can attack if required, the reason I paired him and Tyler together is that I feel that if I did an fanfic exploring James' side story in the manga verse, these two would mesh as they are similar in someways, like both have an little sister that falls ill but their methods in those scenarios are different and that could lead to parallels along with clashes, but ultimately they come to an understanding and form an brotherhood.

Also just an funny idea I've thought of is if the Greek gods were able to interact in the astral plane, Asclepius and Apollo could possibly have an bit of an father and son moment, as James and Derek are both bewildered and weirded out by.

And that's mostly my ideas and fanart at this time, hope that some of it sounds good with what I've thought of!

So over on patreon Trevor asked for my take on the Addams Family and I grew up LOVING the Addams family movies so here we are. Instead of doing a straight up style interpretation, I decided to do a full on design challenge, using the characters as bases to make a black southern gothic Addams au. I actually drew the kids first, using the character bases of Wednesday and Pugsley to create some delightful kiddos I'm calling Sunday and Blanche. I of course then redesigned Gomez and Morticia into Carlisle and Mortesha.

The Addams have a very specific high aristocratic goth aesthetic (they've got a butler and nobody really works among other things) so in this re-imagining I wanted to go with vibes that run a little more middle class/upper middle class.  I thought it would be interesting to think about what would be considered weird and off-putting in an entirely different culture, and how being a big ol' goth is way less controversial than it used to be.

I tried to keep this short (HAHAHAHAHAHA) so I didn't spin off into an essay about villain coded families, black people in the horror genre, and normalcy as it pertains to social survival, but just...bits of that are in these designs and lore. Keep that in mind.

Also I made the kids twins because they've flip flopped in age so much in different media and also twins run in my family (i'm the daughter of one). And let's face it, I'm pulling a lot of their southern gothic traits from living as a southern goth so *shrug*.

The Parents

From the moment he saw her he knew that there was a 50/50 chance of him either never making it out of that swamp alive or marrying the figure that was creeping out from under the distant willow tree in a black cocktail dress. The third time she found him trussed up in one of her traps, he complimented her rope work and asked if she'd like to go out sometime after his head wound stopped bleeding.

Or while it was still bleeding.

If she was into that.

Some kids and a mysteriously burnt down Piggly Wiggly later, their love is still as strong and inescapable as a bear trap in a sink hole.

Carlisle Guillermo (now Addams through marriage but I wanted to give him two first names for a name since Gomez has two last names) makes a vaguely described living practicing ‘law’ around town. A loophole king, people come to him from miles around with contracts signed in blood, fights over chunks of hair buried in their rivals’ yard, dehydrated primate hands, memories that seemed like dreams until the evidence of their happenings became too real, and other regular Legal Items asking for counsel which he is all too happy to give. For a price. Sometimes that price is a homemade pie and sometimes it’s a million dollars, depends on who you are. Whatever you’re asked to pay it’s worth that price, and if you try to scam him out of work or he just plain doesn’t like you? Well. He knows how to twist a contract better than anything at the crossroads.

And he always gets his due.

He doesn’t just serve the local (living)humans though, there are many things that need proper legal representation in this day and age. You wouldn’t believe how many city councils try to build on sacred burial grounds even after he lets them know that his ghostly clients are totally gonna haunt the FUCK out of the ensuing shitty condos and curse their families for all eternity. At least 50% of his energy goes towards dealing with real estate bullshit.

Carl is an excitable and good natured(?) man who loves his family, cigars, dancing, and his many knife-based hobbies. People find him very charming once they get past the feeling that they’re talking to a sultry gator badly disguising itself as a human. I didn’t put a ton of deep thought into designing him, mostly I wanted to make a middle aged dude who looked like he would have been voted ‘most likely to smooch the literal devil’ in high school. Tbh he probably has, but no demonic ex’s can compare to his lovely wife~

Mortesha Addams(her name was already perfect so I just tweaked it)is a woman of many talents. A self proclaimed homemaker, she prides herself on a greenhouse full of Concerning Foliage, a beautiful wasp apiary, and a coop full of what are probably chickens that she keeps for what are probably eggs. She’s also an avid creator of the outsider art that can be seen around the estate. She has taken on the family business of selling her homemade goods in a little stall by the road just outside the swamp with her mom, and makes pretty good money doing so. A surprising amount of poison gets bought in quaint southern towns.

Speaking of poison, people who come out to the edge of the swamp to buy it are usually carrying a lot of secrets around, and Mortesha knows most of them. It’s not like she pries the truth out of people, it just so happens that many nervous hellos eventually turn into the tragic backstory power hour if she’s alone with a client for long enough. She supposes that’s just how people are. Despite the fact that the Addams are very active in the community (whether the community likes it or not) she especially, as a direct descendant of the first Addams matriarch, is seen as…Well not an outsider because the community feels A Certain Way about outsiders and despite it all the Addams are their people, but maybe something like an exception. They feel like whatever weirdness they’re hiding can’t be weirder than any given Addams, so they get a little loose with their words.

This is amusing to her, since Addams’ don’t naturally keep the kind dramatic secrets that their surface level prim and proper neighbors do. It’s much more fun to openly talk about those things.

Do they have a sadly decrepit yet terrifying grandma up in the attic? Yeah, like three. They got a tv, all the creepy porcelain dolls they could want, and they’re close to family. Where do you keep your gram-grams?

Any bodies buried on the property? Yeah some, but most are thrown to the gators.

Any creeping through the balmy summer night with ill intentions? Yeah dude, everyone loves a nice family stroll.

What about dangerous forbidden love? If an adult Addams isn’t incorporeal then they’re either queer or in a torrid romance with some person/thing mysteriously drawn to that awful swamp. Sometimes both at the same time. Most times actually.

Mortesha would know.

The current head of the Addams family is just as outgoing as her husband but a lot quieter and harder to read. She never really seems to get mad about much and always has a genteel smile for everyone whether they deserve it or not. A seven foot tall human shaped “Oh, bless your heart”. A perfectly composed Lady even when she’s, oh I dunno, burning down a Piggly Wiggly. You know. A regular southern mom. Chat her up at the hair salon for 50% off a jar of wasp honey with your next purchase of a mysterious but foreboding packet of herbs.

Designing her was pretty easy because I just drew a lankier Grace Jones and called it a day. I had some problems with her outfit simply because if we were going HARD southern gothic then she’d probably be wearing a white/cream dress with a fuller skirt but I thought keeping the silhouette and the black was more important. She’s supposed to be an anti southern gothic southern gothic character anyway. A woman who looks like she has a million secrets who is actually the most open person you could meet. For better or worse. The red hair came from a coloring error that I really ended up liking (my mom had red hair her whole childhood that only darkened up in high school so I can buy that an Addams can be naturally fire engine red) and the veil was to get more of that classic Morticia silhouette in there.

The Children

Sunday and Blanche are the twin children of Carlisle and Mortesha Addams. Some say the Addams clan got their cursed homestead when a wealthy local businessman made a deal with the devil and lost, leaving his grand mansion to his least favorite maid and cutting his losses once he realized that the swamp would do everything it could to drag the house into the water and take what was owed with its horrible curse. Others say that the family has just always squatted there and no one really cares because man, fuck that particular swamp. Have you been in there? Absolute horror show.

Anyway.

Blanche is the more outgoing sibling and quite the engineer/mad scientist in the making. He started going grey at 2 weeks old but considering he was also rocking some extra fingers, toes, and a tiny tail (he takes after his dad), his parents just put it on the 'not life threatening' pile and decided not to worry about it. He's the kind of smart that teachers find utterly infuriating, less a dog eagerly learning and obeying commands and more a hyena who keeps teaching itself how to pick locks. He has a few friends in his school's robotics club (which they honestly allowed him to make so the school could contain his... creations) but mostly hangs out with his sister exploring the swamp. They find all sorts of neat things in there! wedding rings, suspiciously lumpy garbage bags, cloaked cultists who can't read private property signs, it's an adventure every day!

Blanche is all about experimentation with his creations, his look, and his tether to this mortal coil. Is lipstick a cool thing to try? Let's find out. Can he get out of a strait jacket fast enough after being pushed into the depths of the swamp by his sister? let's find out. He's not dead yet and confused local doctors can attest to the fact that he's rarely attained more than a bad bruise so he's pretty set on continuing to kiss rattlesnakes on their cute little heads and have his sister practice her knife throwing at him until that fact changes.

Blanche is very much a country goth. Cowboy boots (customized by his mom), knife, and lighter are daily accessories. He likes to wear the crusty swamp jewelry they find (the rust adds a splash of color!) and despite appearances he does try to keep himself neat. He's just got  natural Grunge Colors and a tendency to wear clothes he likes until they fall apart. Pugsley always seemed the most modernly styled to me (which might just be because little boys clothes have been the same for a long time) so I wanted Blanche to be the most purposely fashionable Addams. Everyone else is goth by nature, but he's the only one truly familiar with goth as an alternative fashion.

I got really into designing Blanche because honestly, I find Pugsley to be the most boring member of the family. And he was hard to design! I had to mess with his vibe a lot to get him looking how I wanted. I know he's supposed to evoke an " 'evil' little boy next door who's parents never reign him in", but that's just goth Dennis The Menace.  I's 2020. We can at least go queer goth Calvin.

Sunday was much easier to design. Wednesday was my favorite as a child (of course) and I really wanted to keep the spirit of her look while adding things like billowy sleeves (it gets HOT down here), big poofy twists instead of braids, and a nice tie. She's a professional after all, been running the local pet cemetery since she was 6 and the previous groundskeeper met with an unfortunate accident after telling her that tarantulas don't have souls. She'll even help enact terrifying revenge from beyond the grave on whoever put them there if she's not, y'know, busy.

Besides arts, crafts, and pet based funerary arrangements, Sunday is an avid lover of archery (any ranged weapon really), books where little fantasy adventure animals die dramatic deaths, and history. She is That Kid who eagerly raises her hand when asked who Christopher Columbus was and ends up being sent out of class after 15 minutes for making 'a scene'. Her favorite party trick is just picking an item in the room and talking about how it relates to either some obscure historical figure with a buck wild life or a horrible disaster. At least one charity pancake breakfast ended with children in tears after her vivid description of the Great Molasses Flood of 1919.

Social-wise, while Wednesday is the girl that people ask to smile because they think she'd, "look so pretty", Sunday is rarely asked anything at all. People just kind of assume from her quiet nature (in between horrible history facts) that she's angry all the time and that she hates everyone. This is untrue. She hates some people but she's ambivalent to most everyone else and even downright friendly if you bother to talk to her like a person instead of a terrifying cryptid. Like, she IS a terrifying cryptid but she's also a little girl.  

That’s about it for now. One day I might do the other family members but for now I’m happy with the four I’ve redesigned. Making an au! Lurch in a family that doesn’t do butlers could be interesting. Over on patreon I put forth that he could just be Motesha’s mute little brother (similar bone structure) but Amy Crook had the nice idea of quote: “ a mysterious "cousin" that "helps around the house" whose origins are both long in the past and faintly unsettling. He's good for lifting heavy things, like that tank of propane you're about to throw into the burning Piggly Wiggly... “ which i now consider canon. Who's kid is he? How old is he? Not important. Anyone willing to commit arson with you is family.

Who are your top 3 yandere characters right now

One thing I've learned is that I can latch on to certain characters for certain reasons depending on what I'm looking for emotionally so honestly my interest has been bouncing around a lot depending on just how my day has been going

To be honest I've been hella HELLA stressed so I've been going heavy on the escapism stuff. I still think of the Chocobros a lot so I would put them as number 1 without question. I've been recently thinking heavily on, like, if I were to sit down and start writing for them, what would it be and why. Most of my ideas involving them honestly just, have an embarrassing amount to do with American specific politics and culture so I don't know how digestible to everyone it would be but I guess the main theme is mostly just "wow Reader, where you came from is really shitty and horrible, stay with us, we think your environment is kind of making you a worse person" and situations revolving around that

Interrupting myself to add as a general thing, I need to remind myself that writing shorter stories is just fine, but for some reason I keep obsessing on emotional buildup and like, other things that are certainly nice to have, but not necessary. Been really considering writing several smaller stories with the goal of making them digestible but not horribly long as kind of. An exercise on restraint? Cause I'm kinda starting to wonder if my reluctance to write is partially mental illness-driven "make it perfect or don't make it at all" and like. That's so exhausting 🤦‍♀️

Number two would be. Hm. I would say still Valentino honestly 💀 im embarrassed by how bad I want hazbin hotel to come out so I can mindlessly consume whatever scraps of content of him will be in it. As for number three. Hm. There are honestly several different ideas that have been floating around for me. Being exhausted by my retail job reminded me of Nanami and his "fighting curses is no worse than working a regular job" and you know what? king shit. Man's right as rain. Been thinking about something with him and a reader with a similar mindset where he eventually realizes "oh wait, we harness negative emotions to fight curses, I wonder if Reader is potentially Digging Too Deep and possibly feeding into potential mental illness problems" which then leads into "well fuck guess I better take responsibility and start taking care of them"

I've also been having a few thoughts for Volo who is, you know, obsessed with knowledge and such and would definitely have a lot to learn from a Reader from the future, and also like, there's that whole thing where, he did technically, you know, physically threaten us actually. Like, you know what, im digging up his actual words:

"Not that you have a choice. Even if you don't wish to battle, I'm not above using force to take those plates from you."

So yeah, look at it from this perspective. If you consider Reader as, well, us and our player character, and we, or some of us, are technically people who have had "all sorts of pokemon adventures" as in when we've beaten such and such games and watched such and such movies. Imagine Volo hearing all of these crazy stories and tales and also seeing Reader's talent as a trainer and adventurous heart and just kind of like, becoming near zealot-like obsessed because Reader has Literally Met God Several Times, traveled through time, found lost underwater kingdoms, met pokemon from space, ones that granted wishes, so on, so on, and well... maybe he decides Reader is also some sort of divine figure for him to behold and revere and serve oh so diligently, never to part with. That Reader is such a magnet for the amazing and the unknown that he should keep you alongside him when he remakes the world and all that

Anyways long answer is long but anyways yeah I've got a lot of characters taking up space in my head and my heart and my pants and maybe I'll write something soon, who knows

if u were in the fandom at around 2019 you'll remember this video. really a grand hallmark of its time. this is probably the most unecessary thing ill ever do but i see alot of recent comments from a month ago agreeing with this and i think thats extremely sad. im mostly doing this as a fun nostalgia trip and also i really want to justify me wasting 14 minutes watching this

2:51 | oh wow the "fixing art" thing. i dont think this is a thing anymore but it definitely was a big thing back in 2019! the thing is im quite neutral on it because a lot of artists dont like their work being edited but on the other hand if you dont like when people put the correct skintones on your art then maybe you should colour it right the first time

i will say though if you see cool art of like dark choco or espresso and its whitewashed and u wanna edit it so its not and u keep it to yourself then idc thats fine to me. the grey area is when it comes to characters like moonlight or alchemist, who's skintone is quite difficult to pull off in some artstyles. a lot of the examples in the video use people like cherry blossom or cotton candy who don't quite fit in the same category but are usually targets of this anyway

a very simple fix is to just use a different colour but to not make them significantly lighter from how they look in canon, which alot of the examples you showed don't do. they all look pale as shit compared to what they actually look like ingame and thats why people complained about them

devsisters really love showcasing whitewashed art of their characters (they used to do it on their forums rarely but thats now gone) and recently they've been quite excited to dabble in the whitewashing themselves (keep in mind the others except from twizzly gummy don't really count as whitewashing but they're all significantly lighter than their regular appearance). its like a hobby or sumn. everytime they host a fanart contest i brace for god damn impact. and this has been a thing since FOREVER

speaking of race and ethnicity, lilacs costume (and redesign in general) is just... bad but i dont think they were even introduced at the time of this video. milk and yam WERE though and its extremely baffling to me how this went through an entire team/company and got greenlit. its insane how shit they are (if it was just yam on his own i wouldn't hate him as much, i still wouldn't like him tbh, but they decided to pair him up with a white saviour). would i call them racist though? ...idk? they've been moving funny recently cant lie

whitewashing is obvious why so i'll move on. some characters can be seen as lesbian coded (white choco and rose for having majority girl fans, sea fairy in general) and there are a few characters that explicitly aren't referred to by any pronouns (dark choco before the guild adventures, peppermint, ect.) which u dont see everyday in games. so yeah.. people care about these things because they like representation. who would've thought?

now im gonna be fucking real. the arguments over cookies ages were always annoying - the reason why the fandom has arguments about ages so much is because devsis REFUSES to tell us canon ages. think about it, majority of the "canonially confirmed" children in the game are from a child event that happened in LINE. thats a completely different company running the game. because of how character-heavy the game is, ships are a very big part of the fandom. i sincerely doubt theres anyone in the fandom who doesnt like any ship and at the time rarepairs were rly common. so when you've got a fandom who really likes to ship and developers that dont ever mention ages then you get a fucking mess. i dont know what sorbet shark or roll cakes age is and its pointless to even debate it because id rather just have the devs confirm it themselves (not like they ever will). and even for the one singular time they did specify that one of the characters was a child, they still showcased fanart of said kid being shipped with an adult anyway

but that concludes the video and thus this response! i have wasted so much time on this i honestly could've showed you them ranting about how "cookies dont have skin colours" in the video or the part in the marina video where they complain about how people "think whitewashing is bad but make non-black characters black" and moved on but what else would i do on a sunday night?

Fluff #4:  Back Rubs

It had been five days since the invasion of the dreaded flu that had rendered Scott Tracy off rescues and detained to the couch for the foreseeable future, or until the weekend at the very least.  All in all, he had been taking it pretty well.  That was, until this morning, when a close call on a rescue had left the remaining brothers demanding more training on each other’s equipment. There were physical restrictions, of course, which prevented this to some extent.  Watching Alan trying to pad himself out enough to fit into Virgil’s Exosuit had been incredibly entertaining for all, but less than useful for rescue scenarios in the grand scheme of things.  There were some bits of kit, however, that could have easily been shared, if it weren’t for the fact that Scott just didn’t want to share them.  Thunderbird One and the jetpack, for example.  

The Commander had managed to kick up enough of a fuss to keep them all away from Thunderbird One, for the time being anyway.  His argument that One could be flown remotely by any of them if needed and that they were stressing him out while he was sick was enough to keep everyone away from his beloved ‘bird, for now.  He would have to come up with a more long-term plan asap though as he knew full well this wouldn’t be the last he was going to hear of it.  Sure, Gordon and Virgil weren’t all that fussed, but Alan was another matter.  That kid was desperate to get behind the controls and had been for a long time.

The jetpack, on the other hand, was a battle he had lost pretty quickly and to be fair to his brothers, they were right.  Each and every one of them needed to know how to operate it just in case of emergencies and despite Scott’s concerns, the training had been going well for the first hour-or-so.  Then Virgil had gone and asked the one question Scott had been dreading all along.

“What does this button do?” the brother in the green sash asked as he explored the pack that was currently strapped firmly to his torso.  It had been no problem to adjust the straps to Virgil’s frame as the jetpack was a lot more adaptable than some of their other kit and to be fair to the man, he had picked up the controls much faster than Scott had ever expected him to.  In fact, he was picking up on a lot more than he was ever supposed to.

“Nothing,” Scott replied, far too casually, “it was put in as a fallback in case we needed it but it’s not actually programmed to do anything.”

Virgil frowned. “That doesn’t make any sense.  For one thing it’s just bad engineering.”

“What can I say, Brains wanted options.”

“Errrm…Brains doesn’t operate that way.” Gordon was in the mix now, fabulous, they were all against him.  “If anything, Brains is super careful not to put in redundant stuff.  I smell a rat.”

Time to pull out the big guns.  Hugging his blanket closer and attempting to look as pathetic and sickly as possible, a move Scott Tracy would under normal circumstances absolutely never use, he weakly coughed out: “Guys, can we please call it a day.  I don’t have the energy for this and you’ve already practiced enough to be able to use the jetpack if you need it.”  That part, at least, was true.  He would never selfishly put an end to their training if he thought that wasn’t the case.  He had seen how close things had been this morning without them having use of it.

“It’s not even listed in the manual,” Virgil replied from where he was now closely scrutinising the instructions Brains had worked up for them and blindly ignoring his Commander’s pitiful attempt at a distraction.  “That’s it, I’m pushing it.”

“No!” Scott replied, suddenly forgetting his debilitating illness and springing to his feet.

“Why not?”

“I told you, it doesn’t do anything.”

“Then what does it matter if I push it?”

“Well, we don’t know if it might have been accidentally connected or something.  It’s never been tested.  Better to let Brains have a look at it first.”  Scott was clutching at straws now and he knew it.

“I call BS.  Push it Virg.”  Gordon piped in.

“Agreed, do it.” Alan joined, eyes narrowed on Scott.

“John, any input?” Virgil asked their currently holographic brother who was also watching the exchange with interest.

“I’m all for exploration.  If Brains says it’s safe, go for it.”

Ganging up on the sick one, huh?  Not cool, guys.  There would be much revenge for this later when he was back to full power, that was for sure.

“Virgil, please trust me on this,” Scott tried one last attempt, “don’t push the button.”

“Brains?” Virgil called up their resident equipment expert, “is there any safety reason why I shouldn’t push the little red button on the jetpack?”

“No reason at all, Virgil.  I can assure you my designs are all of the highest quality and one hundred percent safe.”

“That’s what I thought. Thanks Brains.”  The connection was cut.  “I’m pushing the button now.”  Virgil replied.

“Virgil, don’t.”

“Pushing the red button.”

“Do not push the red button.”

“Pushing it in Five…”

“Don’t do it.”

“Four.”

“Virg – “

“Three.”

“Come on…”

“Two.”

“Don’t!”

And just like that, the button was pushed…and…nothing happened.  Just like Scott had said.  Nothing that anyone other than Scott, who had requested the button, and Virgil, who was now wearing the jetpack, would know about, anyway.  Thankfully the incredulous widening of Virgil’s eyes as the button was pushed and the power kicked in was not noticed by the other brothers who were still busily watching Scott at the time, giving the second eldest time to quickly shelve any reaction he may have wanted to make.

“So, Virg, what is it? What did it do?”  Alan asked as silence filled the room.

“Nothing,” Virgil choked out, before clearing his throat and trying again a bit more convincingly.  “I guess Scott was right, it isn’t linked up to anything.  I think maybe you and I should have a bit of a chat with Brains about that later, huh Scott?  You know, to check if there are any more little buttons like this that could be hiding away in any of our other equipment.”

“Yeah, sure Virgil,” Scott agreed grumpily from where he had fallen back to the couch, nervous and exhausted.

“Wait, I don’t get it. If it really did do nothing, then why all the fuss?”  Gordon asked.

“It’s probably the flu,” Virgil replied, coming to Scott’s rescue.  “You know how the meds can make him delirious sometimes.  We should probably do what he says and end the session after all.  It’s been a long day.”

Neither John nor the younger two seemed to buy it entirely, but whatever it was the elders were hiding, they would find out in due course.  They had their ways, they always did.  All said and done, they waved their goodbyes to John and off they went. All except Virgil, who began the process of extricating himself from the jetpack, and Scott, who sat sheepishly to one side studying his own feet far too hard while refusing to look Virgil in the eye.  Even when said brother came and took a seat right beside him.

“So…” Virgil began. “A BACK MASSAGER?!”

“Would you believe me if I said it was there for therapeutic purposes?”

“Not a chance.”

“And how much will it cost me to keep this one quiet?  You know, just between you and me?”

“Well, that depends. Firstly, there’s the cost of my time to redesign this thing and hide the button better so that the others will never find out.  Then there’s the additional time and cost to have one fitted into Thunderbird Two. Oh, and the Exosuit, of course.”

“Of course,” Scott replied, with a huff.

“And I’m guessing there’s a similar system already built into Thunderbird One somewhere, which we’ll also need to hide?”

“Maybe…” Scott trailed.

“In that case, I’ll think about it and let you know.  Until then, you’re still grounded.  And if you even think about defying my rules and trying to break out again like you did yesterday, you know what’s going to happen.”

And with a smirk and a “see you later, big brother”, Virgil was gone, off to talk to Brains about a few little ‘improvement’ ideas of his own and leaving Scott to sulk all alone.

So much for Commander’s privileges.  Sometimes little brothers were the worst.  At least he could be thankful that Virgil hadn’t discovered the code to activate the heated shoulder straps for Winter flying.  If he had to build those into the Exosuit as well, they’d never get Virgil out of it.

Reimaging a Renaissance Man: Leonardo da Vinci in Fate Grand/Order

  In Delightworks's mobile game Fate Grand/Order, you’re challenged to save the world with the help of historical figures and legends. In most cases, those historical figures turn out to be far different than you’d expect. Sometimes a person like the famous shogunate swordsman Okita Souji is changed to a female without explanation, but more often than you’d expect, the game is surprisingly clever in how it incorporates historical facts about the characters into their design. If you go into a history class and start to argue that King Louis XIV was secretly female, you might get kicked out. Looking past the anime images on the surface though, there is some art history to be learned from Fate.

  Leonardo da Vinci in particular is a great example of this. Leonardo is genderbent to be female, with the explanation that his search of perfection and beauty led him to redesign his body into the Mona Lisa. Also, she’s a little obsessed with the painting.

  Fate also features a lot of art, called “craft essences” that come with effects to assist you while equipped in battle. Most of which have no historical basis except for, obviously, the Mona Lisa.

  As a mobile game, Fate rotates time-limited events and one called “Da Vinci and the Seven Counterfeit Servants” featured three craft essences inspired by famous masterpieces. They were earned by collecting Leonardo’s famous manuscripts and counterfeits of all his masterpieces and writings.

  Collecting Leonardo’s manuscripts rewarded you with Maiden Leading Chaldea inspired by Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People. In it, Liberty has been swapped out with Joan of Arc, referred to as Jeanne D’Arc in Fate, whose flag is as inspiring to your in-game army as Liberty’s was to France. In the bottom left, you can spot Gilles De Rais, who was a close ally of Jeanne, but this is the Bluebeard version of Gilles, not the noble warrior he was prior to Jeanne’s death. In history, Gilles de Rais was a companion-in-arms who fought alongside Joan of Arc. But after retiring from the military he became known for an interest in the occult and was convicted as a child serial killer. The story of his horrible murder spree was the inspiration for the Bluebeard fairytale.

  On Jeanne’s right is Hans Christian Anderson who’s holding up papers in place of guns because words are his weapons and the pen is mightier - well you get the picture. In the back are other in-game characters, but neither have a historical counterpart, so moving on.

  The counterfeit manuscripts give you The Merciless One, based on the Pietà by Michelangelo who was a close friend of Leonardo (in Fate lore not so much in real life). This features Jeanne D’Arc Alter who is a dark version of Joan of Arc. In the image she’s cradling the pre-Bluebeard version of Gilles de Rais, the noble warrior who fought bravely by her side. The art mirrors Jesus being held by Mary after his crucifixion with Gilles de Rais’s fall into evil.

  The last famous art inspired craft essence of the event was The Scholars of Chaldea. You received this one by collecting fake copies of Mona Lisa, Self Portrait, and Vitruvian Man. This piece was inspired by the painting The School of Athens, but specifically just Plato and Aristotle in the back center. In it, Dr. Roman (your in-game boss essentially) and Leonardo are featured as the two great minds whose partnership will help save the world.

  Leonardo Da Vinci also has two side quests focused on her, both of which, while fictional narratives, feature a few winks and nods to lesser-known facts and paintings from the artist’s life.

  In the first, she’s traveling with you to London and casually mentions she was the model for the archangel Raphael in Verrocchio’s painting in the National Gallery. Based on that brief description it's most likely Tobias and the Angel to which she is referring. There’s no historical evidence to back her claim as a model but it's possible (the real-life) Leonardo did assist in the painting of the piece and if so it's his earliest work as a painter.

  You don’t get to visit the National Gallery to see the piece, instead you make your way to the British Museum to see Leonardo’s old friend “Mikey”. It’s the only appearance that Michelangelo makes in Fate so far, and Leonardo makes a point of saying that he’ll be unable to return in the future. She speaks of him fondly as a dear friend, calling him the other “uomo universale” but since he’s a lingering ghost and the game is mainly combat-based you do have to kill him. Rest in peace Mikey.

  In real life, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo were known rivals. Their best known interaction was a pair of commissions that put them in direct competition with each other. They were hired to paint battle scenes on the same wall of a Council Hall in Florence. Long story short, neither finished their work and they parted on unfriendly terms. But, it is thought that despite their rivalry they both had a private respect and appreciation for the other’s work.

  At least on Leonardo’s side, we know Leonardo did a sketch of Michelangelo’s David for example. In Fate, Leonardo mentions more than once how much she admires David, but in real life Leonardo likened Michelangelo’s depiction of human musculature to a “sack of walnuts.” Maybe he meant that, maybe he was just bitter. 

  If Michelangelo ever drew any of Leonardo’s works we’ll never know since he torched most of his sketches right before he died. At the core of their interaction in Fate, Leonardo is basically saying that Michelangelo was the closest she ever had to a true equal to her level of genius, at least in the field of arts. That aspect might have held true for real-life Leonardo.

  Leonardo’s second side quest focuses a lot on her mother and the painting Virgin of the Rocks. It’s not known if she’s talking about the one housed in the Louvre or the one in the National Gallery. She’s referring to both but mentions she can’t remember if one was painted by her apprentice. Based on the museums’ descriptions of the two versions, they were both done by Leonardo himself. She says that while painting the Madonna she found herself longing for her mother and that’s what prompted her to bring her mother to come stay with her in Milan.

  Leonardo says this with a twinge of regret, remarking that by moving her mother to Milan she may have unknowingly shortened her life and caused her to fall ill. In actual history, there isn’t much known about Leonardo’s mother. He writes in his journal of a Caterina, who is strongly believed to be his mother, that visited him in Milan but died within a year. Her cause of death is also up for debate so the tragic narrative suggested by Fate’s Leonardo does seem to be a fictional invention. It’s been theorized by some that Mona Lisa is based off of Leonardo’s mother. When asked about this in Fate, she says no but adds she’s sure her mother had a wonderful smile.

  In the side quest, Leonardo also mentions going way past the deadline for the commission of Virgin of the Rocks and getting really annoyed when she found out how much the patron wanted to pay for the piece. This has some historical basis, the description of the version in the National Gallery says it was possibly made to replace the original since Leonardo wasn’t paid adequately for the first and sold it elsewhere.

  Next in the side quest, you encounter Leonardo’s assistant Gian Giacomo Caprotti who she refers to as Salaì. How she describes him in the above image seems to be historically accurate. Salaì is a nickname that means “little devil” and he stole from Leonardo often. Leonardo da Vinci wrote of him frequently in his journal, mostly documenting what he broke and how much Salaì’s father would have to repay him. 

  Despite all of his antics, Salaì lived with Leonardo for thirty years and was even left half a vineyard in his mentor’s will. So when you run into his ghost in Fate, it's pretty clear Leonardo was hoping for a real reunion but since he’s an evil ghost who can’t talk you have to put him out of his misery just like with Mikey. Rest in peace little devil.

  Lastly, Fate introduced a second Leonardo Da Vinci, called Da Vinci Lily, and she is a reference to a unfinished masterpiece of Leonardo’s. This version is also known as Gran Cavallo, the name of a horse sculpture the real-life Leonardo was unable to ever complete.

  She’s also supposedly modeled off her childhood appearance... if Leonardo looked like the Mona Lisa as a child.

  Da Vinci Lily is in command of an armored vehicle called the Shadow Border. The Shadow Border, which was built/designed in part by Da Vinci, bears some similarity to an armored tank Leonardo designed in his journals.

  In real history, Gran Cavallo was to be the largest equine statue ever created, but at the time Leonardo’s attention was divided between The Last Supper and countless other projects. He created a clay model of the piece meant to be later cast in bronze, but French bowmen used it for target practice when they invaded Milan. He was never able to recreate it and the story goes he never stopped mourning the project.

  Da Vinci Lily also got her own version of the Mona Lisa, called Bella Lisa.

On the other end of the spectrum of historical accuracy in Fate, Thomas Edison is a lion, for reasons having nothing to do with his life or career. So while the same can’t be said for every Fate character, the design and writing around Leonardo da Vinci feels like a loving homage to the life and work of the universal genius.

Thank you for your response! I researched and even more than George Washington Carver I found amazingly close plot points in the life of Percy Lavon Julian, that I used to write those characters. I have many black characters in this AU but only 3 of them have higher degree - going with Super/M*d Scientist archetype. They are based on white comic characters, who were scrapped to the basic idea and rewritten - because of that I don't think that specifics on who those characters are would be relevant. One of them is a hero, one is a villain, and one was invented as a villain but in my take is more True Neutral.

The Hero is mixed, half black half south-asian, but having mostly black features. His mother moved to the US from Britain. He is a calm, kind-hearted man working under the big medical company as a research chemist. He wanted to be a scholar in the university he was attending, but was denied a professorship for racial reasons.This company looks all around the world looking for fictional substances that might heal people from many illnesses. He was hired mostly due to the fact that he knew Indian dialects thanks to his mom, and they were looking for this substance in India. He was obligated mostly to work as translator between indian workers and their english-speaking supervisors, but later he could get himself to work on this “science juice”. He synthesised it to the single enzyme that was technically able to safely mutate people - change their size, giving them wings, gills, tails, increase the strength and durability without damaging the body and risking life. He was afraid that the company might use it to do evil. Keeping the discovery of substance in a secret, Hero decided that human trials would be limited to the only subject he could trust: himself. Feeling that the mutating abilities induced by this drug should be used for good purposes, he decided to use the abilities to help those in need; in other words, he would become a superhero. He crippled the company’s outpost in India and later he moved back to the US, joining a local superhero group. He later has a problem with staying with the rest though- his colleagues are creeped out by his mutating body, also he gets a bit of an addiction problem, that makes his (mostly white) partners put him on the side to not worsen their already bad PR, so he might go solo. I am not sure yet.

The Villain is the son of freed slaves, whose parents really fought for him to get him a chance of proper education. He got himself into a local university who allowed some black people to become a medic. During his education he was noticed for his surgeon skills by a doctor from France guesting in the US and he got himself sent to finish his graduation to Lausanne University. He shares his room with white guy who is gay and fells in love with him, but never speaks about his feelings, because homosexuality was perceived as mental illness, and he really wants to be a psychiatrist. After graduating he decides to stay in France and work under this doctor - sadly it turns out that he acts like the Villain owes him a favor for this, and therefore he has to work for him for lesser payment and his private research is regularly stolen. His main reason to stay is that “maybe it's bad but under Jim Crow it would be worse” and this situation remains to the start of WW2. During the war he joins the resistance, and later he becomes medic for the US troops. War throws him into hell, when the final point is learning about liberation of Auschwitz camp by soviets. He is broken by the amount of death around him, as he comes to the conclusion that human life, as it is, is worthless, as well as his medic job. So he decides to commit his life to find the way to achieve immortality for the human kind. Over the years he grows more ruthless and obsessed over his research, as he comes back to the US in the 50s, supposedly for a science symposium, but really to get himself a body of an ancient vampire that was discovered in the city where his past roommate lives, with some extra stealing funds for research and kidnaping people for experiments. At the finale he injects himself with the immortality serum, who turns him into a scary monster, and later immobilises him, as a fate worse than death. (he comes back tho)

The Neutral one is Jamaican man. He was raised during the birth of the rasta religion, but was always interested in wealthy whites going onto the island on summer vacation. He decides to move to the US after a girl he once met. After didnt finding her he is still too stubborn to come back and decides to get himself a high degree in zoology and/or pharmacy. After getting a degree he becomes an assistant in a local drug store. It turns out that the owner of this shop is selling drugs to the mafia. When the owner once decides to stop trade with them they kill him, and The Neutral One is immediately blamed. With a half-assed trial he is sentenced to prison, but his prison bus has an accident. Neutral One is nastly scarred as he is able to flee. Later he lives a hermit lifestyle in the abandoned parts of the city, accompanied only by animals and the local community of homeless people, who are treating him as their medic and protector (even sometimes they microinsult him, by calling him “Wizard” what he really hates, as he was working too hard for his knowledge to be dismissed as magic). He himself is sad, distant and emotionally closed, being completely disappointed by the “Babylon'' around him. Later natural catastrophe forces him to move from his comfort zone and find a new place for himself. Are there any things that make you go “yikes”? Is there something to change, develop, explain better? PS1. All those 3 characters have body-horror elements in them. I can explain it as almost ALL characters I redesigned for this AU have those mutation elements, of all genders and ethnicities. I just adore body horror.

PS2 Those characters in the current form of the story don't really interact with each other. While the Hero has other black people to interact with, both Villain and Neutral are alienated by design… and that makes them a bit “token”.

This is Amaya and Nefits, two newer redesigns of very old fan ocs I made for a Yugioh AU that will not leave my brain even after all these years lol Neftis here is the younger sister of Yami while Amaya is Yugi's slightly older and slightly taller cousin. (A fact she quite literally likes to hold over him)

Random Notes -

Both girls are Mediums but Neftis once was an Oracle and see into the future, abilities that have been lost to her right now.

Amaya ace and is precious cinnamon roll that will kick your arse

Neftis is a hopeless romantic. Looks scary but gives best hugs

Neftis is banned from markers, pens, basically all inks, oil paint, mallows when she's alone, and pomegranates.

While Amaya is more Neutral Good Neftis is absolutely Chaotic Neutral. Do not leave Neftis alone to her own devices unless she has things to keep her occupied lol

Many harmless details have been left out from her Sight just to have a good laugh later. Mostly at her brother's expense xD

Does not have a Millenium Item anymore. Once was the keeper of the Necklace.

Their amulet is gold with lapis lazuli and an ankh.

Neftis' hair originally was similar to Yami's but after being deathly ill as a toddler, her hair turned the bluish-white it is now. Amaya was born with the bluish-white hair color.

Her green ribbon is a reference to rebirth, a new chance, etc as the color green will hold that meaning.

Amaya's birthday is the Tanabata!

The project their in is called Second Chance. An AU I've been sitting on for a looooong time but never fully worked on for reasons back then. Long story short the AU is an elaborate "what if" tale of what if the Pharaoh got a proper chance to live a life of his choosing? And the misadventures that would ensue with his sister and their friends.

Will I share it online? Maybe. We'll see. The AU is more of a means to keep my anxiety and stress down but as I work on it, I'll consider sharing more. Art will absolutely be shared so keep an eye out for more of these two and their friends!
