i'm gonna ramble real quick about all the bad shit in my head.

tw ed maybe sh depression self hatred drugs

i lost about sixty pounds which is the most weight ive lost ever. a good chunk of that time i was living with a meth addict. which meant i was eating and sleeping on a methheads schedule plus he was kind of an asshole so it helped me hate myself and i was working on my feet a lot. that was almost two years ago now. since then ive had a best friend. it was an intense all consuming wonderful and terrible friendship. i made the decision to end the friendship bc i couldnt put myself first. i always wanted to put her first above everything and in some ways it made me resentful. and that wasnt fair to her. it was fair to either of us so i made the best decision i could. now im pretty sure shes trying to get back in contact with me after MONTHS of no contact and its freaking me out. ive started to gain weight i gained about ten pounds. and i hate myself for it. i hate myself. its to the point that i miss the old roommate. which feels a little like saying i miss meth but thats a weird parallel to a drug ive never personally had. i am in pain. all the time mentally and physically and my apartment is eviction level messy (i live in my grandmas basement so im safe). i get out of bed to work bc i have to and to play video games when my bf pesters me but i want to get up and do things. i want to have that random burst of energy and clean to my hearts content but it never comes. i have no energy and no motivation and i feel like i cant do anything or even think. i cant even finish a thought they go in and out of my head so fast its like im not thinking at all. but i cant turn it off unless im dead tired and i get up at 5:30am for work now and im so tired. i just want it all to stop. my head is so noisy i just want it all to stop. just let me sleep. let me be a person. the only time its quiet is when im doom scrolling or rewatching greys anatomy for the gazillionth time. and i thought maybe if i just vomitted my thoughts on here and got it out of my head things would be quiet but they arent its like a screeching whisper so far away but still there i can still hear it. it wont go away and im scared the only way to make it go away is to fill my head with sand like my last medication did. it got so bad i drove on the wrong side of the road for maybe a whole minute without even realizing. (it was a parking lot with no other cars but still) i hate everything and i want to cry and yell but i have no reason to. i want to quit my job that i started only a month ago i want to go out and get drunk and not have to think. i just need someone to help me. to take it all away and help me find the quiet. but even that i hate sitting in silence thats why i have greys playing all the time. i dont know anymore. just let me go

My 14x16 Opinion

Don’t Go In The Woods

I must admit I have mixed emotions about this one. I didn’t hate it at all, but there were things about it I didn’t like. This one won't make my top 20 but I won't mind rewatching it. So, if you want to read me pick it apart, you know where to click😜 

I have seen a big improvement in the season since the mid-season finale, and though this is my least favorite one of the half, it's not my least favorite of the season. I'm a little disappointed in the low amount of bro love, but it was still there, so I'm not angry. I will get to that in a minute though. Im going to start this off in the “THEN” because I think there was an important piece of information in it, that we didn't see in the actual show. They show a portion of last week’s episode, where Sam is talking about hating being at the Bunker, he sees the bodies of the AU Hunters and he says “ This is on me, I brought them here” but he didn’t say that in the episode. Like the line was cut/deleted, and they forgot. 

This isn’t the first time that’s happened. Another time I remember is in the “THEN” portion of First Born in s9. They show Sam and Dean on the “break up bridge” and Sam says “And Kevin? Someone else getting hurt because of me, I can't live with that” and that wasn't in the actual scene we saw, it was just Sam saying “And Kevin?” and going right to Dean “No Kevin’s blood is on my hands” Now I know they have tight time restraints, but they should be more aware of scenes that were cut. I know that we all know these were things going through Sam’s mind at the time, but its better to have it in canon than to just assume. 

So the episode starts with two kids making out in the woods. Now, Ill just tell you right now, I have a big squick about underage kids making out and in sexual situations, and though it was mild enough not to make me turn the show off, it was enough to make me cringe and say “eww just stop” Then thankfully they're interrupted by the boy’s cop father and the token stupid girl in the horror flick goes off in the dark alone to die, I mean to pee. The bathroom was nasty enough for me to have decided Id hold it till I got home, but no, guess she really had to go, and I could have done without having to watch her sit on the toilet... just sayin...

Back at the bunker, we have an interesting and pretty sweet brother scene. We Wincesters and Bronlys got to take back “Mornin Sunshine” from the Hellers when Dean said it to Cas in S12 and they insisted “In French,it means Good morning my lover!” and “In Swahili,it means “Good morning love of my life and soulmate!!” It doesn't matter that Dean said it to Lucifer last season, they missed that part hehe but they couldn't miss this 😎

Moving on....

It was funny when Dean asked if Sam was watching porn and Sam saying “You know the internet isn't just naked people right?” And Dean says “Not my internet” Oh I do enjoy brotherly bickering, but Sam found a case, and I found it interesting the way Dean said,“I thought you needed time?” it was a little sarcastic, but not in a bad way. I dont think Dean is comfortable with what Sam told him last week. I think Dean believes Sam is just not happy there period, and is going to want to leave him soon. He isnt pushing Sam out though, I think how he didn't want to call Cas to come help or to bring Jack, was his way of saying he wanted time with just the two of them. 

Now they go have a talk with Jack, we see Sam visibly disapproving of lying to him as to why he can’t come. Though I agree with Sam that Jack should know the truth, I also agree with Dean that the truth hurts sometimes so we lie. In this kind of situation, its a double-edged sword, 

Now Jack’s portion of the episode was good but it was uncomfortable. I felt like Jack was stiff, not his normal self. He’s really stopped talking like a robot since halfway through S13 and he seemed a little more clueless than normal. I understand that we’re supposed to “see” that he’s losing his soul, but that would just make him cold, not robotic. Soulless people are still that person, but with no emotions or filters and such. I did laugh though when he said:“What’s a ghost?” LOL that was cute. Its like Sam and Dean told him not to talk about hunting or monsters with people, so he just pretends he doesn't know what the word even means. 

Now I'm not a fan of bringing in the Kids Klubs on the show but I think it was ok to bring these kids back for this part of the story. Familiar faces that we see trying to befriend Jack, him going out of his way to impress them, and getting someone hurt. But for the Hellers who decided the last time we saw them, that Max and her girlfriend are Dean/Cas and Elliot is Sam, I have to point out who was riding in the back seat?? So If they are a parallel of Sam/Dean/Cas Elliot is Cas kiddos! Sam NEVER takes a back seat to Cas! 

So now they come again to being really close to squicking me out. The girls hanging all over each other, and the leg rubs and the giggling and the slow almost kiss looked and “felt” to me like a porno and since it was established in Lebanon that Max is underage, it creeped me out. Dial it back show, adults are watching😒

Moving on to the case, I have to say I really thought this monster was creepy. how he blended into the shadows and I couldn't quite tell if it was a figure lurking in the trees, or actually just a tree. The whistling was also well done, it was just human enough to think “No, that's not the wind”. Sure, he was like a Wendigo reboot, but everyone has been saying they want cool monsters of old like Wendigo right? 

What I noticed during this time, was Sam reacting to the word “freak”. It was subtle the first time, enough that I'm not sure that he actually had a reaction, or if I'm just “seeing” it because I looked to find one? But the second time seemed genuine. Sam showed that he was moved emotionally, maybe not from the word but from the lying definitely. Sam has been on the edge of an emotional cliff all season, and he’s gonna blow, and it's not gonna be pretty fellas. 

Now we have Jack showing off to his new friends and of course, accidentally hurting one of them, and when he healed her, they didn't forgive him. This is obviously not something Jack is familiar with, anytime he’s healed someone in the past, they were grateful, but not now, not with normal people. This is going to be an issue. I do need to say that it was a little stupid and OTT to have the girl who is scared of this sword trick, to literally run INTO the path of the blade. 

Now on the ride home with the boys, they have a little bit of an argument, that basically says Sam is tired of, and probably resentful of all the lies in their lives. Wondering how things would have been different had they ever told Dad they weren't okay. Maybe even wondering how life would have been for him had he known what was going on with himself growing up. Anyway.... we’ve not heard the end of this yet.

So to sum it up, it wasnt a bad episode, nor a great one. so its probably the calm before the shit storm of the season finale and the next episode should kick it off. 

On a scale of Bloodlines to Lebanon Ill give this one a 6.5. More broments and less kids making out and Id rank it 7.5

long rambling reflection on my history as a naruto fan and why im deep in kabuto stan mode atm

soo i have been a naruto fan for a uhhh long ass time (17 years now?) and i was deep in fandom for ages before falling off sometime around the start of the war arc...it started with the emotional blow of losing jiraiya (me and a friend read the chapter when it released and just clung to each other sobbing lol, well written, just sad)...the dumbassery of pain resurrecting everyone.....mr sasuke choosing to honor itachi's legacy with destruction....i had not read it in a bit when my friend called me up to ask if i had read the most recent chapter cuz NEJI DIED and i literally lay on a dark basement couch all day sobbing and was deep in grief like couldn't eat or sleep for like the next 2 weeks....i started reading again in bits to see if neji would resurrect (HE DIDNT) and if his legacy would be honored (....) but whatever it was just endless uchiha clusterfucking so i got bored and dropped again, only really returning for Magical Brother Soulmates naruto and sasuke (#NEJI WAS RIGHT) and then the last chapters to see how it ended and gape at the endgame pairings & inojin, the most bizarre looking mf ...

(At least orochimaru ended up okay and pretty, I decided)

anyways, i've consumed a lot of what i missed in my off periods but one thing i never really consumed was the war arc A) cuz im a filthy bitter neji stan until the day i die B) as someone who crusaded hard for tobi NOT to be obito (as i loved them separately but knew if they were combined i would lose all sympathy and affection) (my naruto forum username was literally tobi-chan) and that twist makes my teeth gnash as it's just kinda a bad character story, obito hate club here, and that leading to aforementioned uchiha gangbanging and SPACE ALIEN REINCARNATION PROPHECY MAGIC, something so utterly divorced from what naruto's story used to be... yeah

now the other day i saw a mention was like, kabuto is more dragon then snake. i always did wonder about the horns...so i went to go reread the hilarious kabumaru reveal which led to many a joke back in those old forum days -- the chapter was being weirdly hard to find tho and i kept getting distracted by other chapters referenced on his nwiki page and i ended up reading a lot of his backstory (knew in general but) andwar arc stuff, especially him v itachi n sasuke, which i had missed

And i was like? Oh? Heres kishi writing style I've been missing + maturity gained from time? sasuke calling itachi perfect when itachi sympathizes with kabuto because sasuke is too emotionally immature to have that capacity, the submission of identity to authority that drove them to extremes w kabutachi vs sasuke being driven to extremes by well. trauma induced personality but still, his personality, you know, who he simply is ... sasuke then leading into having to resurrect mentor/parental figure orochimaru and ninja presidents to figure out "who am i" which was really "can i choose to help konoha and pals while still being me"

and theres kabuto...forced to Accept Himself by itachi's brainwashing (itachi, who has always had teeth, always been pleasant, always taught) ... kabuto standing there ... orochimaru (who bore witness to all this drama from his cosy place on anko's neck) feeling so much more tired than he has after any other resurrection, giving kabuto those inscrutable looks, removing his presence from kabuto in an absolution, an apology, a return to self that leaves kabuto looking so young and tired and empty), telling sasuke he's fine how he is and also, still young, knowledge inherently ages you in a way trauma, power, and the passage of years can't

(i cant believe orochimaru was trying to stop sasuke for his own purposes. he manipulated sasuke but he never stopped him. ntm following that path allowed orochimaru to get his arms back and just have some fun trolling the mage, so it was a path for from detrimental to him.)

he wants sasuke to keep what childhood, what sentimentality he can -- again, acting the parent

and there's kabuto still. a 'brother son student'* to him, one of his oldest orphans, a follower so loyal and useful orochimaru would never make a vessel out of him even when desperate, and yet kabuto in his search for identity did it anyways -- (remember how he offered himself to oro, back in that whole rotting arms, late sasuke era?) and later orochimaru essentially tells his old teacher (a parental figure to himself) that the reason he's gonna bat for the good guys is because he saw what Trying To Be Like Him led kabuto and the world to, and he wants to, essentially, do better with this child under his charge and instead of imposing his will, see what sasuke can do with All The Knowledge At His Disposal

he told kabuto to form a self around knowledge, but it was knowledge for sake of power ... a descent to madness he himself took from a quiet, helpful child ... as character parallels go, orochimaru has very little in common with sasuke and much more in common with kabuto

now orochimaru was never guardian of the year, what with the fufufu-ing and child experiments, but i disagree with assumptions that the loyalty he inspired was entirely down to Stockholm or fear, because at the end of the day, orochimaru did as many horrific experiments on himself as he did unto others. leadership thru example.

then there's kabuto. kabuto who has hated, tried to kill, resented, feared orochimaru, but also kabuto who also loved and admired orochimaru, saw him as his home, was someone whose company he generally seemed to enjoy, someone he wanted to both be and surpass. someone inspiring

kabuto and orochimaru are alike, so kabuto tried to supplant his identity with the assumption that being alike = having walked the same path = being identical and eventually had to face that he couldn't both love orochimaru and be him, that it was a twisted mirror, that all he has ever been or would ever be was someone who had to make his decisions based not on history or blood or origin or culture, but on what made him happy

so, the orphanage, a home that does not move or die, a brother whom he can love and admire who is so different from him its not a twisted mirror ... a kabuto and orochimaru who do not seem to have interacted in a very long time, but for the whole, they didnt exactly part hatefully or on bad terms, and thus a kabuto who could just as easily make the choice to never see orochimaru again as he could to see orochimaru, if he wants to, if he's sure enough in his own identity to not worry about losing himself again ... he finally has choice, even if he, orochimaru, and sasuke are all restrained by the ethical limits of konoha atm

and uh yeah characters who struggle with their identity & the control others can then exert over them are a favourite of mine?

so what this memoir/meta tl;dr is is just me working out my thoughts this fine friday morning on how yakushi kabuto has, like, objectively, one of the best character arcs in all of naruto -- hell, maybe THE best, and i am sorry to have missed it when it was coming out because just. damn. that's good writing, y'all!

Here, lets talk in my post. Because i feel bad enough for the OP for writing a tangent, when their post is about Yamato.

First Diclaimer : I’m not justifying child abuse with war (I know you didn’t accuse me of that. But just to be safe, tumblr is full of bored people who wants a villain)

Second Disclaimer : I just put it there for anyone who’s so frustrated about “HOW SUCH AN EVIL COULD GETAWAY WITH THIS= MUST BE BAD WRITING”. I put out that reference, to show that bad writing could accidentally be a reflection of our world hence a starting point for a story with real questions. I admit, it was my mistake to put it out there without framing what I meant and it could be misunderstood as me justifying something so inhuman.

1.    To answer your first paragraph (and possibily the last parts??) :

I mean you did wrote “They were secretly given immunity. Secretly. Because it wasn’t right. Because the United States of America wanted to keep that information to themselves and prevent other countries (Soviet Union) from accessing this information.” So are you saying the “means” : that is letting someone who commit such atrocities go scot free. Is justified by the “end” : getting useful information?(which by the way, you really have no basis to say if the US, at that time, just took that information to safeguard it and not to use it to hurt more people for the sake of “fighting the reds”) *i digress, but this kinda show my point how it raises quite a question*

I put that part of reality there because it’s one of those things that makes you think if “justice” is only there out of the convenience for the powerful?  I know it’s stupid of me to think about that kind question for a kids show. But I felt like audience grew up. We all grew up to realize 90% of what Naruto preached is a lie although with a golden heart. And I just want that ideal to be dissected and upgraded. Even though i currently don’t know how, but that’s why I put that reference there. So maybe a smarter, better writer out there could look at that part of reality and churn out some light of “how do we retain ourselves in such a world?” through this fiction that has a parallel scenario of that reference, which is orochimaru’s freedom.

+ I’m sorry that im not making it clear that I see the War crime immunity as a VERY VERY wrong thing. That threw me into an existential crisis when I watched the documentary, I felt hungered to concoct a “light” through the bad show that has been imprinted into my childhood.

2.    About gaara and sunagakure :

My memory is hazy about gaara vs the two goons, but all I remember is he dramatically fight on air when every suna ninja is watching in awe, drooling, doing nothing, because their president is flying, only to fucking try to help gaara when he already fainted, with canons. Creating a useless dramatic firework scene as he was kidnapped.

Okay, fine. You favour the “Why” than the execution, fair enough. The scene’s stupid but it does “redempt” gaara in a way. I get it.

And also the talk no jutsu part… like I said, the message has its heart on the right place. But you have to admit that’s weak writing, especially in these times when we are surrounded by so many depressed people, who do lesser things than “gaara”, that cannot be “talked out” from their illness. But it does could be interpreted as “people who’s mentally ill needs friendship” and okay fine, i could stretch that.

I did wrote “Debatably shit since then” because that part that i deem “weak writing” is one of the part where Kishimoto’s writing is starting to wobble. a telling sign it could go worse in the end. which it did.

3.    About Yamato :

Now.. the ending is the Tumble after that long long wobble Kishimoto has had since the end of part one. Well I don’t know what you can get out of that, maybe I could stretch it like into “people change->orochimaru dun wrong things to help people this time UWU”. + “yamato’s sense of duty”+other bullshit? It’s not the first time audience have stretch kishi’s weak writing into something meaningful. I’m not here to debate if you can or can’t justify that. but we know there’s a slew of people out there that would go to hell and back to justify why Orochimaru deserves redemption (Which, I don’t think he deserves, because.. in my standards, even Gaara redemption should be death, a 13 year old that considers murder as self-expression is just long gone (but no, he’s too hot for death, -popularity polls disapprove))

Look..I’m just tired of how people would go to such lengths to justify some characters, when the some other character they despise could also be justified if subjected into the same mental gymnastics.

I’m just tired of people still ranting about the ending when people with any senses all agreed that Kishimoto dun goofed. He goofed because the inhuman standards Shonen Jump put upon their mangakas, he goofed after drawing/writing/composing/world-building to produce every single week, he goofed after giving half of his life to the manga only to have time for a honeymoon after the series ended, he Goofed and the fandom just kept throwing salt into that wound. 

I just put that reference there, in the hopes that people could just stop complaining about a HUMAN ERROR on Kishimoto’s part (a human error that SP danced with) and either just fucking Ignore it (in favour of better kids show out there) or just turn it into a story one would want to ponder (which I was, in a way, trying to do and share one of the reference I used)

Now, her insurance called me and told me that because she is not responding, there is no way to confirm she was involved in the accident. therefore, they denied liability.
