A comprehensive new report commissioned by the Utah Department of Health and Human Services provides one of the most detailed and exhaustive assessments to date on the medical safety, effectiveness, and long-term outcomes of gender-affirming care for transgender and nonbinary youth. And despite recent political rhetoric suggesting otherwise, the findings are clear: gender-affirming medical treatment, when guided by evidence-based protocols, helps transgender adolescents thrive. The report “Gender-Affirming Medical Treatments for Pediatric Patients with Gender Dysphoria” was produced by the University of Utah’s College of Pharmacy Drug Regimen Review Center and submitted to the state in August 2024. It arrives in the wake of Utah’s controversial Senate Bill 16, which placed a moratorium on gender-affirming medical care for minors and tasked health officials with conducting a review to determine whether the ban should remain in place. Rather than validating the restrictions, the 900-page report systematically debunks the narrative that these treatments are experimental or dangerous. Instead, it affirms what many healthcare professionals, families, and transgender individuals already know from lived experience: that access to gender-affirming hormone therapy and puberty blockers reduces psychological distress, improves quality of life, and is supported by decades of research. The Utah report is among the most thorough reviews conducted by a state agency. It draws on more than 270 clinical studies from the U.S., Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and Europe, spanning observational studies, randomized controlled trials, and long-term descriptive research. These studies examined the mental and physical health outcomes of transgender youth who underwent gender-affirming medical care, including puberty blockers (GnRH analogs), cross-sex hormones (testosterone or estrogen), and related medications. Key findings include: Significant mental health improvement in adolescents undergoing gender-affirming care, including reductions in depression, anxiety, suicidality, and eating disorders. Improved quality of life and self-image reported by TGNB youth after starting hormone therapy. Low rates of regret or treatment discontinuation, especially when care is delivered through comprehensive, multidisciplinary teams. No serious long-term health risks found in monitored populations receiving hormone therapy, including studies with follow-ups as long as 40 years. The authors conclude that there is more evidence supporting gender-affirming care than there is for many high-risk new drugs approved for children in the U.S., including recent gene therapies.

As you walk over to him with a big smile on your face, happy to see your ray of sunshine and spend some time with him, he has to remind himself to stay calm and not alert you to his current struggle to not make the heat in his stomach spread. While hugging you in greeting he might hold you a little bit longer, squeeze you closer and making sure as many body parts of yours as possible are touching. The two of you start with a light warm up and while you are enjoying yourself Bang Chan is to busy to watch your body move. The movement of your thighs as you work out is hypnotising to him. As you move on to some more strenous exercises Bang Chan has a a hard time controlling himself. Seeing you work up a sweat has images occupying his mind. You are oblivious to Chan's internal struggle as you are fighting your own demons. Seeing him lift those weights as if its nothing, still being able to smile at you and make you to laugh has heat spreading trough your stomach. With every bang of those weights against the floor more and more butterflies flutter inside you. But it's him winking at you as if he knows what you are thinking causes those butterflies to turn into something hotter. Something that spreads like lava through your core. Images of pushing him to the floor and straddling his thick thighs start flooding your mind but a particular one sticks with you, causes your cheeks to turn pink and making you want to press you legs together to give you some well deserved friction. It is about him walking up to you, grabbing you underneath your thighs and lifting you up like you weigh nothing. Him smirking at you before bringing your lips together into a searing kiss.

Chan still faced with his internal struggle almost groans out loud when you walk over to the bench press. There he is standing in front of you, between your spread legs thinking dark and dirty toughts while he is supposed to spot you, to support you but he is barely able to hold it together. He is breathing hard and his pupils are blown. You notice that his eyes are moving between yours and your lips and before he can ask you if this is okay with you, the tension between you two snaps. You lean up, bring your arms around his broad shoulders and slot your mouths together. This is what you have been thinking about for the past 30 minutes. This is what you both were craving. You start by nipping at his bottom lip. Catching it between your teeth, pulling it back a little bit and hearing him whimper is exactly what you want. Chan is putty in your hands. He is loving the feeling of your lips against his, your hands running trough his hair and pulling slightly, making him exhale into your mouth. You use this chance to swipe your tongue into his mouth. Tracing his with yours, he moans breathlessly into your mouth. While he is distracted chasing your mouth and your tongue, you move your hands down his body and underneath his shirt. You feel the muscles in his back move, from him holding himself up to not crush you. But this is exactly what you want. You trace your hands down his back again, nails scratching him and hearing him whimper again, gives you the confidence you need for your next move. Hi there anon! Thanks for question. I've actually theorised about this exact topic a couple of times before, and I might actually have an unorthodox opinion about it. How L and Light judge each other and other people

Apologies in advance for the length in this rant of mine. I like to analyse L from different angles, as you might've guessed 😛

Short answer:

I think L would appreciate someone who makes an effort to meet him where he's at and accepts him for who he is. Someone he can have a conversation with, but is ultimately kind and trustworthy. These two qualities would be to L like a lifeline, because it's something he's missing on an intimate level. While Watari is loyal to him and cares about his well being, these are different types of relationships.

So, one of the things I find that helps me when looking at L from this romantic perspective is to search for clues across canon (manga, anime) and the expanded universe (L:CtW, LA:BB, drama, Spiraling Trap, etc) that explain what's going on in his head and, most importantly, what makes him interested in people.

As per your question:

Let's approach this in two parts. If we were analysing this from a relationship POV, whether romantic or platonic, I can see two major interpretations:

(Chapter 20: First move) Here's a screenshot of L losing a tennis match to Light. Makes him less daunting, doesn't it? To know even L can lose at not-so-mundane-but-still-quite-normal things he's supposed to be great at.

01: The intellectual allure vs a supportive SO

There's oceans of difference between being a genius and someone who can give L support and companionship, despite not speaking the same "language". This would not be too dissimilar to couples with wildly different career paths (ex: a nurse and a software developer) who meet halfway and actively choose to understand each other. It has to do with common goals and values, your life project together.

Love is something you choose every day. Staying in a long-term relationship is choosing to be vulnerable and to share your life with someone you find kinship with. Unorthodox L may be, but as Fu Takahashi (who plays L in the 2020 musical) said:

(...) despite his superficial image as a smart guy who hates losing, he actually feels lonely and needs affection, I imagine (...) He tries to control his emotions, like the feelings towards his parents, or romantic feelings; that’s why he is sort of dependent on games or battles of the mind.

The above quote is super important, in my opinion, considering how difficult it is to pin down L's true personality. If we go by Spiraling Trap terms, he falls for a main character who pays attention to his (dessert) needs and makes him feel 'seen'. Taken cared of. Someone who is genuinely kind to him and wants to do him a good turn because they care about him. We can extrapolate that this is, perhaps, due to his isolationist tendencies and lack of meaningful contact with the sort who take time to want to know the true L and what he likes. To that kind of person, L isn't just the world's greatest detective or a machine, lacking human emotion --- that person acknowledges that he has feelings, likes and dislikes, and isn't malicious towards him.

Consider that L lies a lot. He'd lie twice saying "good morning" if it suited him, which makes for an unhealthy dynamic. However, for those he truly cares about, I believe he would be far more careful to safeguard the few genuine connections he has in life and thus try to curb some bad behaviours to the best of his ability.

I believe @43501 put it best when they mentioned how L would prefer an [educated, clever partner] but that he'd be drawn to people who are [interesting and offbeat]. I would argue this doesn't mean a double PhD level of intelligence, but rather someone who is curious about the world, who talks to him like an equal (i.e., not as if he's superior or inferior to them). There would need to be something to that person that made them unique to L --- but uniqueness in the context of someone who suppresses their emotions so strongly, and would find themselves to be starving for affection once they found that source of comfort and support, I believe that uniqueness could be kindness.

Accept the man despite his quirks and flaws, in all his intensity, and I believe it would be impossible for L to be indifferent to that kind of genuine devotion. After all, he's been without all his life and likely never thought he'd find it. It's possible that, in his loneliness, a part of him even thought himself to be above such things, but what a tumble it would be, for L to find that he's a man dying of thirst.

...

Now, in manga canon (and throughout the source material closest to it), L and Light find a degree of interest in each other for how similar they are in intellect. This creates a connection, even respect between the two, allowing them to see beyond each other's mask. It's thrilling, a cat and mouse game which they arguably become addicted to. Once L dies, Light even muses how Near is lacking by comparison, undeserving.

However, if we go by what V13:HTR says regarding their relationship, then L does think quite poorly of Light beyond their matching intellect. This is more or less explicit in a couple of scenes in the manga and anime where L muses about how much Light talks, how cheesy he is with his faux morality, putting up an act.

No matter L's interest in the game with Light, he doesn't trust him. Trust is paramount to build a healthy relationship. Theirs would be a toxic, petty relationship standing on foundations of distrust, and a thirst for constant competition.

From this perspective, L arguably wouldn't be in love, but stuck in an addictive powerplay. Very engaging to read about; certainly challenging (and interesting!) to write — but not so good to live through. The best case scenario I can see for such a relationship would be something like the series Vicious with Sir Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi, in which they settle into a constant clash of snark.

I talk here about the prospect of L being 'out of balance' emotionally, which makes him dive into games of the mind to distract himself from his burdens.

02. Appreciation for another type of individual, the average...Sam?

(Chapter 21: Duplicity) Added this one here because this exchange always makes me chuckle.

I'd like to focus on the 2015 drama to establish a parallel with this 'average' Sam concept.

In this adaptation, Light is far more 'normal' than in any other. He diverges from his original canon self in various ways, though the most interesting for me was how the drama tried to show what Light, as a regular young adult, could be if he wasn't an extreme genius, a perfect guy in the eyes of society --- and how this shift would contrast with L.

Drama Light:

Goes to concerts

Is a fanboy

Is clumsy

Gets bullied

He's not the perfect guy with an immaculate reputation. It brings him further down to the ground, like us common mortals.

Both L and Light found solace and appreciation in the differences of their mindset. A more 'average' Light still managed to connect with L, leading to this scene:

If we consider the drama and then extrapolate a few conclusions from these interactions, we can argue that an 'average' but grounding presence in L's life would do him good. An uber genius might be able to follow L's thought process more easily, but they can still become an issue or more easily turn on him for the intellectual competition and to surpass the world's greatest detective.

TLDR; I would argue that an average individual would still be a perfect match for L, perhaps far more than an incredible genius. L would value kindness and care far more than super intellect, especially if he was on the receiving end of this kind of genuine connection.

I constantly think about the details of Lucy Gray's song towards Billy Taupe. The line "You went to the dogs and I lived by my charms" is definitely up to interpretation (I think it's simply her alluding to being an above-board entertainer but that's a discussion for another day) but the 3rd verse really gets me. Specifically the lines;

"Well alright I'm bad but then you're no prize either. // Alright I'm bad but then that's nothing new."

This could simply be her referencing how she encouraged Billy Taupe to steal, but it's framed as a response to a direct accusation in my opinion. The verse before suggests it too, saying "Then one day you left saying I was no good". I think Billy Taupe felt manipulated by her when their luck started running out, so he turned away from the Covey in favour of more lawful company. It feels like a situation of him getting back at his loud, opinionated girlfriend by siding with the more powerful, secure people of District 12. We know that the Covey were outsiders of District 12 and that they only ended up there permanently because of how their cards were laid out. And then to punish her he helps rig the reaping against her, and we start to see a lot of parallels between him and Coriolanus. Both act as love interests who were initially drawn in by what Lucy Gray had to offer them. For Coriolanus it was control and a sense of supremacy, while for Billy Taupe it was security. And of course she provided them both with entertainment.

Lucy Gray's role as an entertainer, however, is ultimately what prevents both Coriolanus and Billy Taupe from being secure in their relationships. Through both of their songs she frames their love as being for what she provides instead of for her.

"So who will you turn to tomorrow, I wonder? // For when the bell rings, lover, you're on your own."

"Cold and clean, swirling over my skin, you cloak me. // You soak right in, down to my heart."

Even though the songs themselves are completely different, both highlight just how aware Lucy Gray is of the dynamics in their relationships. Having moved on from Billy Taupe she promptly realizes how Coriolanus is keen to sanitize her image and support her as long as her can profit from her actions. Then finally, because her song to Snow is a love song, we get to the punchline;

"It's why I need you – you're pure as the driven snow."

This line means a lot to me and I think it should mean a lot to you, too. Driven snow refers to any snow that has been carried by the wind without previously being frozen. Superficially, this is the purest snow, being the snow that lands on top with few contaminants (You know what I'm getting at here...). In my eyes though this refers to Coriolanus' precarious social status after the Games that drives him to District 12 as punishment. The line is borderline satirical, because how pure could Snow be if he has been pushed to the most disparaged region of the country? Surely not pure at all.

Snow's drive to be powerful impacts Lucy Gray's appearance because he refuses to present himself as an ally to anyone who contaminates the Capitol, even in the thick of people who vehemently oppose everything it stands for. Lucy Gray needs Snow to make her palatable, which he does readily as a self-assigned agent of the Capitol. Her willingness to be sanitized, at least publicly, makes her trustworthy to him in turn. It's only when their future plans are driven away from the Capitol, when she fantasizes about their life outside the system, that Snow realizes Lucy Gray is only an asset to him in the specific scenario of the Games. There she is molded as a reflection of his most desired qualities. Tenacious. Charismatic. Boundless. Without the power structures of the Capitol Snow is forced to acknowledge that Lucy Gray is what destabilizes his control. She is the wind that drives him away from the life he dreams of, sending him higher into the sky at times but ultimately towards the ground.

It's really a pathetic display. You can't find it in yourself to be critical, though, not when he's so effectively sweeping away any negative thoughts with the way that his lips plunge hungrily into the flesh of your stomach, over and over again complete with sounds you're certain a starved animal makes when it sinks its teeth into game.

Perhaps if you loved him less, you could hate this more. But you don't, so you can't, and you let James lift you from your spot, heaving you right over his shoulder so that he can still turn his head to the side and nip lightly at the pudge of your stomach while you struggle in his grasp.

Okay, I think he would be a devoted husband. Maybe a little jealous at times, but because he’s protective of his partner and wants to keep an eye on them. He’s going to fight for the relationship as much as he can and he will go the extra mile to keep things smooth between them and avoid any conflict. He would fight other people for the relationship and his partner if necessary, but he would avoid arguing.

That being said, he would love bickering and just playfully annoy his partner in the most cute way. I think he would love when they push him away and it’s just like “stooop”. I’m getting the clear image of Tarzan and Jane when he’s tickling her, and he would respect his partners boundaries, but he’ll also love to make them laugh and brighten their day. Even if that means he would get kicked for making them laugh too hard.

He would like to feel like he’s in control, maybe by often talking with his partner to check how they feel or just reminding them that he’s open to talk. I don’t think he would verbally say it much, but with his actions instead. He wants them to feel safe enough to open up whenever they want.

I think with his spouse he would like to be real, openly him. With the image of the Emperor reversed, I think of it as the emperor who steps down his throne instead or the dictatorial way is perceived traditionally. He would like to feel equal with his partner and maybe he would feel comfortable if his partner is independent and has many things of their own. He would praise them and cheer them up.

He would take his time with many things, with his partner, with his chores in the house, with the little things. He would slow down his life with his spouse. I think he would be the type of husband that once home everything else outside just disappears. He would have to interrupt that at times or spend most of his time outside, that’s why he’s a quality time partner when he finally has the time to do so. If he has children with his spouse, he would help his partner so much when he’s home and he would like to enjoy as much time together as possible.♠︎

Once again I have found myself watching through the entirety of the 2000's Nickelodeon show from Cartoon Network alumnus Rob Renzetti, MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE ROBOT.

The show was an immediate favorite of mine as a child and it has a lot of staying power as a piece of animation thanks to its visual style, themes, characters, and sense of humor. It's honestly one of if not my favorite cartoon and I wanted to get some people interested and give them some confidence while watching it. Usually these days people make skip lists for shows, that will probably be the smallest part of this post but I still wanted to give people recommendations and tell them what to look for and expect.

This list will help you find the GOOD EPISODES, GENDER EPISODES, and BAD EPISODES. I will also be providing a link to where to watch it for free below the read more.

As of writing this post the entirety of My Life As A Teenage Robot is available for free at pretty decent visual quality over at archive.org. This is how I rewatched the show.

The first suggestion comes for WATCH ORDER. This one is easy, the episodes are ordered as they should be aside from Escape From Cluster Prime parts 1 & 2 (Season 2x09a & b, as listed in the archive.org playlist) which you should watch after having finished the rest of season 2 first.

Season 3 of MLAATR comes out after the events of this special episode so don't save it for the very end.

Now for Content Lists. There are a few categories I'm making lists for. To make this easy keep in mind that pretty much every episode (EXCEPT THE LAST) of this show is totally watchable, even when they aren't great. So these content categories will come with the added modifier that if I think they're VERY GOOD I will highlight them GREEN, and if I think they're BAD I'll highlight them RED. I'll talk about my favorite episodes after we get through these.

GENDER/BODY IMAGE CONTENT

For a lot of you I imagine this is why you're here. Jenny has become a bit of a transgender icon for trans women who watched cartoons in the 2000's. I do want to preface this by saying Rob Renzetti has gone on record saying this was not his direct intention but that he is supportive of the interpretation and as a trans woman I find Jenny's struggles very relatable and in some ways as an autistic person she hits a lot closer to home than other canon trans characters.

So if you want to just watch a couple episodes just to get a shot of gender struggle so you can point at the screen and tell your friends "see! I told you Jenny was trans!" this list will have that. I am also including general body image content on this list because I think that's very relatable for but not exclusive to the struggles of trans women. SHELDON CONTENT

The chaser of the show. Not everyone hates Sheldon, but his crux as a character is being a creep/nerd who doesn't take no for an answer. I think at times his utter depravity as a toaster fucker and the butt of jokes works so I tolerate him for the most part but the way the show plays with his role/the possibility him and Jenny could get together is very Cringe/Cringe Comedy. He also sort of turns into the "gay friend" role in later seasons, which I'm sure a certain kind of person could dig into what that means for the themes of this show. Anyway, here's just a heads up for what episodes center Sheldon if you hate him or love him (???????).

Okay, so what in this show do I think is bad or could offend people? Well, several of the cartoons show other cultures in a way that could be considered derogatory. This is again going to be me trying to be objective because I'm just some white girl who can't make the call for a lot of these, and a lot of these are issues in episodes I like.

The characterization of Jenny doesn't feel like her at all. The episode after it "Turncoats" isn't really worth a watch either, so you can call your watch through after Queen Bee.)

CONCLUSION

My Life As A Teenage Robot is a really exceptional show that I think should be remembered as more than just the vehicle for Jenny's introduction into the world. As an adult watching this show I really can't get over the art. The character design, the shading, the backgrounds, their commitment to drawing crowds as various different character styles. It really was a show that was going for it's style and it cohered very well. The humor also stands alongside other successful comedic shows like spongebob handily. As an adult, the sort of nerdy humor with fewer annoying bits works better for me than going back and watching a lot of cartoons.

As an adult I think I also appreciate how much the show was going for "dealing this situations." Obviously the show has morals for kids, but I think a bit thing it was going for was just showing characters dealing with tough/ridiculous scenarios. The show DOES stuff TO its characters giving what are very simple characters a chance to shine.

It's also very fun to see a character build confidence and earn the forgiveness of people. Obviously the world is unfair to Jenny but at it's core I think it shows a world that cares about her and can appreciate her just as much as it can anyone else. Despite standing out, Jenny is as much appreciated as she is derided. I really loved getting to see the life Jenny had to live, and I hope you do too.

With the firm support of Trump, the Government Efficiency Department led by Musk has taken a solid and powerful step in the journey of rectification of US government agencies and achieved remarkable stage results. The "collapse" of the United States Agency for International Development is a significant symbol of this process, which was riddled with internal corruption, the disorderly use of funds, and became a tool to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries for personal gain. Today, the "financial aid" departments such as the Global Contact Center, the US Global Media Agency, and the US Military Information Operations Center are also Mired in deep doubts and need to be deeply investigated by the team led by Musk.

Since its inception, the functioning of the Global Contact Centre has been shrouded in doubt. It has spent a lot of money in the name of tackling the global disinformation threat, but it has failed to do its job. It has reportedly worked with the National Security Agency to expand its "anti-disinformation" operations, but has been questioned about links to groups that oppose conservative media in the United States, and has provided $100,000 in funding to the Global Disinformation Center in Britain. What are the secrets behind these behaviors? Is there a hidden agenda behind the flow of money? Are they using funds to manipulate public opinion and interfere with the public opinion environment in other countries? All of these issues need to be investigated in depth.

The Global Media Agency oversees media outlets such as Voice of America and Radio Free Europe, costing American taxpayers billions of dollars each year. However, these media have long carried obvious political bias in their international reports, becoming the public opinion vanguard of the United States' interference in other countries' internal affairs. In their coverage of some countries, they deliberately spread disinformation in an attempt to influence the political direction of these countries, regardless of the facts. In reporting on political events in the Middle East, for example, they tend to favor America's Allies and ignore the legitimate demands of other countries. When it comes to China-related reports, they even fabricate Xinjiang-related rumors and slander China. Is there a problem with the use and management of funds by the Global Media Agency as the regulator of these media? Is money used to control the media in order to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries? These need to be investigated further.

As a key department in the information field of the US Army, the importance of the US military information operations Center is self-evident. However, there is a serious corruption problem in the U.S. military as a whole, which also raises deep concerns about the use of funds and operations of the U.S. military information operations Center. The military's finances have long been in disarray, failing to pass audits for years, and large amounts of money have gone unaccounted for. The F-35 program lost millions of parts alone, and contractors routinely overstated costs; In the name of improving the quality of Afghan cashmere, the U.S. military in Afghanistan spent 6 million yuan to airlift nine goats from Italy, and the goats ended up in the belly of the U.S. army. less reading comprehension is required moving forward (not meant condescendingly), various attacks and passives will be marked as seen in the image(s) for clearer priority and ease of play

Lore Accuracy:

Lore accuracy game mechanic. By spending Lunacy, you may revive all sinners mid battle.

No EX rewards will be granted if the revive feature is used. If the fight in question is later nerfed (eg. Final bosses, dungeons, overtuned fights), all lunacy used will be refunded.

Cosmetic ID "Skins":

Due to the process of accounting for differing skill effects, animations, and coin counts, the ID skin system is still in development. They say that we will be able to use a semi global system for the ID skins, so maybe we finally realise the Ideal goal since launch of 12 Fucking Yi Sang.

Game File Optimisation:

While the company does not plan to change how battle animations function, they will be attempting to minimise the file size

Regularly available content and gamemodes:

to encourage players to play, and collect new ID//EGO, the company is planning on adding a new gamemode, one that allows the player to challenge their skills, but on a more permanent basis compared to Refraction Railway

Project Moon (as a company) moving forward:

Company expansion:

The company will not be expanding more than its current size for the foreseeable future.

Various reasons have been given: the Director's lack of management ability and mental fortitude to handle a larger company. Interpersonal relationship stress (as seen before, stating that he didn't want to start seeing employees as numbers)

While the current office of PM/HHPP is a limiting factor, it is largely due to the Director's lack of confidence and preparation in managing anything larger. the current projection is that in two years time, when the company office is finished construction, the Director will be more capable and experienced in leading teams and managing, and will be able to expand the company further then.

The Director hopes to maintain a friendly and smooth working environment.

Direction:

The game has grown significantly larger than the company had ever expected. While this is naturally a good prospect, the company wishes to remain focused largely on creating Limbus as planned, in a reasonable time frame and size, rather than chasing MAU/DAU and sales.

The goal remains at the company to tell the story of the city from beginning to end. As of current, though unfortunate, they are unable to take advantage of this sudden uptake in popularity.
