🌳🌺😍 Impatiens glandulifera flower and seed pods. 🖖😊
Bonus text: Artsy fartsy edit. Itsy bitsy spider. This blossom reminds me of an open mouth, about to devour your soul. Well, that escalated quickly. Don't mind me, just casually causing panic attacks and nightmares. Gotta fix this, I'm on it. Silent night, holy night. All is calm, all is bright. Don't let the bedbugs bite. Oops sorry, went dark again. I can't help it. Okay, positive thoughts. Great. Awesome! Love and peace. Let me make up for that by singing a peaceful lullaby by German composer Johannes Brahms (translated to English):
😇🎶 Good evening, and good night,
With roses adorned,
With carnations covered,
Slip under the covers.
Early tomorrow, SO GOD WILLING,
you will wake once again.
I swear that's not my fault this time. It's really what the lyrics say. Not the most comforting, peaceful or empowering meaning. Rather fear-inducing and threatening. But what did I expect from a 19th-century composer, if today, in the 21st century, we're still not over our religious baggage of the past, that's holding society back. Can't blame Brahms. Nobody to blame but ourselves. Yes, we may not have inherited the best conditions from past civilizations and generations of indoctrination. But it is in our power to change the future. We're improving and progressing, though. Our efforts for a secular society and subsequently, a better world, are not futile. WE ARE BORG. 🤖 RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED. 🖖👽

In a stunning example of plant adaptability, a seed from a rare species of tree has been found hanging from a cliff face in Nepal – more than 600 feet above the ground.
The seed, which is from the Himalayan balsam tree (Impatiens glandulifera), was found by Nepalese climber Dawa Steven Sherpa as he scaled a cliff in the country's Annapurna region.
The Himalayan balsam is a fast-growing annual plant that is native to the Himalayan region. It is considered an invasive species in many parts of the world, including Nepal, where it is known to crowd out native plants.
The tree produces large, flat seeds that are easily dispersed by the wind. It is believed that the seed found by Sherpa was blown onto the cliff face by a gust of wind and then became lodged in a crevice.
While it is not known how long the seed had been hanging from the cliff, it is clear that it had germinated and was beginning to grow. This is an amazing feat, considering the harsh conditions at that altitude, including strong winds and intense sunlight.
The discovery of the hanging seed highlights the adaptability of plants and their ability to thrive in even the most extreme environments.

Himalayan balsam on the banks of the Leven
Policeman’s Helmet — the playboy or scourge of the horticultural world?
The clump of pink flowers on the far bank is Himalayan balsam, a notorious invasive plant, the scourge of conservationists and environmentalists. The plant was particularly rampant on this stretch of the river about six years ago and they did have a blitz to eradicate it but it has returned. There are more clumps further downstream.
Himalayan balsam goes by a variety of names:, Gnome’s Hatstand…
