Sakura fans out there shipping their self insert with Indra and Ashura Otsutsuki LMAO 🤣 Why would the otsutsukis bother about that No Clan girl. I doubt they even know about her existence😂 I bet this all started after Toneri showed interest in Hinata. They think Otsutsukis will go crazy for Sakura too. They literally have no shame in shipping her with dead Ancestors but can't even tolerate Hinata being shipped with her CANON husband.

Exactly. It’s already a stretch to ship her with every Uchiha just because she’s *married* to one. Like can you imagine Hinata being shipped with every Uzumaki like Nagato, Mito and Kushina? Like seriously why do they always set Sakura up like this???? Madara didn’t give af about her in canon but he would be jealous of Sasuke marrying her????

Plus most likely civilians and ninjas didn’t live together back then and the clans were probably very strict about who future clan heads marry so they’d naturally marry women from STRONG clans. If anything it would be beneath them to marry Sakura because it can jeopardize the clans future (which they would be correct since Sarada needs glasses)

Just like with the series, Sakura stans can’t see beyond the shallow surface, yes, Mito and Kushina and many other women have been described as “beautiful” in the series BUT beneath that beauty is STRENGTH whether through hard work or blood which Sakura does neither. Even Toneri didn’t go after Hinata JUST for beauty, she’s a HYUGA and a PRINCESS.

How do you justify that in canon Obito killed the innocent children and women of his own clan? He might have been influenced by Madara but it was still his decision to do that. To me, it’s hard for him to be redeemable because of this.

We can all agree that realistically, there is absolutely no excuse for his actions. Just because he redeemed himself, that didn't erase all the crimes he's done and he knows it too. He said it himself to Naruto just as he was crumbling into ash.

Which is why his death was a perfect way to conclude his tale. Canonically, the only way for him to redeem himself was to just die and no longer exist in the world he once wanted to destroy. Him living doesn't do any good, nor will it bring back all those he killed and caused the deaths of. So yes, him dying was just perfect enough.

However, we can dig a little into what he was thinking when he committed those crimes: He wanted to build a better world where there is nothing but peace. Where there is no killing, no violence, no wars - just pure love and peace and everyone gets whatever they desire. Just a perfect paradise.

And the messed up thing is he won't even be the one to experience that paradise. He would just roam around, floating as the Jinchuuriki of the 10 tails while everyone is locked in their own dreams as they turn into a bunch of white zetsus. Like, how fucking sad is that? He didn't care about himself, he just cared about the Eye of the Moon Plan. A world where he can bring back the dead and establish peace.

In a way...in the deepest depths of his heart, he was heading for the "right intention". but as he told Naruto, "You have to step over your comrades to reach what you want," so in the end his actions just fucked up his life and everyone else's.

So when he slaughtered his clansmen and all the women and children of his clan, he didn't have it in him to care enough because he was already planning to build a better world for everyone.

Yet again, we all know that it was just a massive manipulation from Black Zetsu, who literally manipulated the entire future of the Uchiha clan starting with the most formidable ancestor (Indra at first, then Madara) all the way down to Obito.

Not only did he slaughter his clansmen, he sadistically kidnapped Kushina after she gave birth and placed bombs on her baby! Obito was all about vengeance that night - he just wanted to hurt everyone and see the world burn because in his mind, 'this world didn't matter anymore - he doesn't matter anymore, so whatever he does doesn't matter anymore.'

Which we all know, is ultimately wrong.

To be completely honest I'm with anon on this one, in the manga/anime the whole Indra-Asure thing is indeed referred to as a reincarnation cycle of their chakra and soul together

That's also the reason why there was such a huge gap between Hashirama-Madara and Sasuke-Naruto, their souls are meant to always reincarnate together and Madara threw that off by using the ugly huge statue (I don't remember the name of it lmao) to keep himself alive longer than he should have

And in fact we see Madara let himself die after Obito comes back from Rin's death with the Mangekyō active, and like a couple years later Sasuke and Naruto are finally born as the new Asura-Indra reincarnations

They also stated that only someone from the Uchiha and someone from the Senju clan can be reincarnations, but I guess Naruto is somehow related to the Senju through Kushina from after Mito married Hashirama? May I ask for extreme details on the age swap au? I'm not sure how it works.

Is it just effecting the Konoha 12, their teachers and maybe the sand siblings and a few notable shibobi? So those who were 12-13 are now 26 and the 26-27 year olds are now the students? Did the Uchiha massacre still happen if so, how? The issues that lead up to it were complicated, but I don't think they would have happened if Naruto/his father was alive. Is Minato still alive as the 4th Hokage? Did he die with Kushina again and was Naruto an orphan? Who released the nine tails if Madara was too old and Obito is now itty bitty.

How did Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke react to growing up in a time of war instead of a time of peace, especially in one of the most bloodiest wars in the ninja world. Is Itachi alive? Is he in his 30's and still flicking Sasuke in the face and embarrassing him in punlic,, or did he succumb to his chakra disease early in life?

Sakumo must have been alive and was a peer to Naruto, at most he would be a bit older. Were they friends? Did Naruto try to talk-no-jutsu him out of Suicide? The village's view on teammates vs. Missions seems to have pivoted after the 3rd great shinobi war where, at least in Konoha, friendships and teammates meant more than the mission. Maybe not for everyone, but probably due to the overwhelming loses everyone's POV shifted and they seem to care for each other a lot more. Would he feel the same pressure to commit suicide and leave his baby boy if less people turned their back on him?

Were Dai and Lee friends?! Rivals?! BROTHERS?! On the same team at one point?! Did Lee learn the gates from Dai?! Or was Dai just Lee's father in this and Gai was Lee's secret half brother/ a random village kid with no relation to Dai?

If Madara was still alive that means the reincarnation of indra and asura could not be Naruto and Sasuke. Who are they now? Is it Obito and Kakashi? Are they destined to stop the cycle of hatred and bring peace to the ninja world?!

I'm sorry I have so many questions, but the characters of Naruto are deeply entwined with their world and the time in which they grew up. Their environment ends up shaping who they become. So unlike a lot of stories, I think just switching the character rolls and places it a little harder in a age swap like this where almost every character has a pivotal roll in the time they grew up.

It’s not really hard at all to change things.

Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura grew up in war and are a little rougher around the edges because of it but otherwise the exact same personalities. Naruto is a sunshine personality, Sakura has anger issues but is a top notch medical ninja, and it’s Sasuke who takes Obito’s place.

Kakashi and Obito are the reincarnations, but instead of it just being them who can fix everything in the end Rin actually plays a role in fighting and helping them beat Kaguya instead of just being sent in the end to stop her with a punch.

Madara still dies and the reincarnation cycle starts anew with Kakashi and Obito.

Sakumo and Dai are more Sensei age, just as Minato is Sensei age for Kakashi, Naruto and Rin.

Minato and Kushina are well known shinobi who were skilled and ruthless, but Minato never becomes Hokage here. It’s Sakumo who takes the title of the fourth and through a very skilled Naruto who has grown a lot (and is a few years older) and had a chance to learn uzumaki techniques from his mother is able to seal the Kyubi into Kakashi. (kakashi is the ninetails here)

Dai would have been Lee’s Sensei and someone who picked Lee up as a student before he left the academy and helped him train. He’s not actually Lee’s official Sensei, but he is the one who takes him under his wing and teaches him his style, and then has Gai later when Lee is around 14. So lee is not blood related but a big part of Gai’s life.

Hiruzen is still the third (honestly i don’t see Tsunade, Sakumo or Minato going through with the massacure at all so it has to stay him) with Tsunade, Jiraiya and Orochimaru still being the Sannin (though i do have fic with Danzo being the one Kakashi leaves the village to train under, but that is not for this)

Sakumo was Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura’s Sensei and although Sasuke ‘died’ young Sakumo kept a good connection with Naruto and Sakura and refused to allow Hiruzen to set asude some of their stringest shinobi during the Kyubi attack.

They were good enough to fight in a war when they were 10, they are good enough to help protect the village rather than being force to stand around and watch people die knowing they can’t do shit.

Naruto used the Reaper death seal, and i know ‘he was supposed to die’ but like, f*** that i think that Sakumo shoved him out of the way and the death god actually accepted that for some unexplainable reason and took Sakumo instead (who was dying anyways as he was the previous jinchurriki)

What and how would the Uzumakis be? I find it sad that Kishimoto never gave an insight to the main characters history and clan. Sure naruto is half Uzumaki but it's still important especially when it was such a famous clan. We don't know much about them so we can only assume.

This is what we know about them and their techniques:

They're distant relatives of the Senju and descendants of Ashura.

They possessed a powerful life force (which allowed Kushina to survive the extraction of Kurama, albeit she'd die regardless because of it) and were known as the "Village of Longevity".

They have great chakra levels. Karin's quantity of chakra allows her to heal those who bite her, including herself -it's unknown if such a condition came naturally or not, but it's likely (since she also has to bite herself in order to heal and it's not something she can do unconsciously like Hashirama), that it was the result of Orochimaru's experimentation with her. In the same manner, Nagato's chakra pool allowed him to use Madara's Rinnegan without dying.

They excelled in Fuinjutsu and were targeted because of it. Mito became the first Jinchuuriki (Juinjutsu) and Minato's seals were taught to him by Kushina (albeit his signature technique was Tobirama's).

Some of its members (like Karin and Mito) developed or had an affinity for the "Eye of the Kagura", which is the ultimate sensing technique that allows them to sense different presences through long distances, being capable of sensing even the smallest hints of chakra. Regardless, most, if not all, of its members were sensors.

No. It's not a vortex, it's a whirlpool, and it has to do with their village, which was an island called "Land of Whirlpools".

They were incredibly strong and complicated to defeat, there's a theory that states that it was Mist who destroyed them during the Second War by kidnapping one of its members and rudimentarily sealing a jinchuuriki inside them, when they inevitably lost control of the tailed beast, it killed most of them and destroyed the city (the exact same plan was later on tried with Rin, which failed as she killed herself through Kakashi's chidori).

I think they had a lot going on for them, there's no need to give them a doujutsu -their sealing techniques allowed them to seal human beings, create jinchuurikis, and pretty much anything they wanted.

I would like to read a story based on them if it was written by Kishimoto, but I don't think they needed more techniques than they had.

Thank you for the incredible amount of votes! It was fun seeing how results varied from region to region. I was shocked to see Minato at the top for all regions, and the fact that Sakura is so beloved by many people around the world made me proud as a writer. To tell you the truth, I was actually rooting for Kurama. I was planning on drawing only the top 20 characters, but I really wanted to add Kurama, who was close at 22nd... So I ended up including him and Guy, who was in 21st place! Sorry for completely ignoring the original plan to have the top 20 characters for the 20th anniversary because of my personal attachment. Right now I'm working on the short manga for Minato who placed 1st. I was thinking about the chakra of Indra and Ashura on Sasuke and Naruto. It is just chakra. It is not sentient with own personalities. It is just there. But then I remember Naruto meeting his mom. Minato sealed the chakra of Kushina into Naruto so they could talk one day. Then does this mean a person's chakra is sentient in some way? What is the difference here?

i believe the chakra is actually sentient, but naruto and sasuke have their own chakras plus ashura’s and indra’s clinging onto their bodies??? the same way madara and hashirama also have their own chakras. while kushina’s chakra was sealed inside naruto somehow.

uzumaki having large amount of chakra reserves isn’t exactly surprising though. Just because their main trait happens to be their life force doesn’t mean they can’t have enormous chakra either. From the limited insight we got on the uzumaki most of them had displayed traits of enormous chakra reserves, so they do go hand in hand

I never said they can't have enormous amounts of chakra; Naruto for example does have a naturally huge amount of chakra. However, this was never stated to be an Uzumaki trait. Their traits were repeatedly mentioned in the manga, and not once was having huge amounts of chakra ever among them, so why should I suddenly believe that this was a trait of theirs, when Kishi had opportunity after opportunity to clarify this, and yet chose to never do so?

You say that most of them had displayed traits of enormous chakra reserves? Then let's go through them one by one.

Nagato wasn’t touted as having large chakra reserves - It was the Rinnegan which allowed him to frequently perform many techniques which drain large amounts of chakra and gave his chakra a very powerful overall aura, a Rinnegan which was not his. He himself was never said by anyone in the manga to have a huge amount of chakra, and when someone did mention the amount of chakra he had, they attributed it to the Rinnegan:

Kushina wasn’t touted as having large chakra reserves - She and Mito had a strong/special chakra, even among those from the Uzumaki clan, which was what made them suitable hosts for Kurama as it allowed them to suppress him. However, it was never stated that she had a large quantity of chakra:

The fact that it was this special chakra which made them qualified to be suitable hosts for Kurama not only indicates that this wasn’t a general Uzumaki trait since not all of them possessed this special chakra, but the chakra itself was described as being powerful, not large in amount. This is significant because many people in the series were praised for having powerful chakra, most notably Indra and his descendants, the Uchiha, not the Uzumaki. As for Ashura and his descendants, the Senju/Uzumaki - They were praised for having large stamina and physical energy. In other words, vitality:

The manga itself makes this distinction, so again, I don’t think that I’m in the wrong for thinking this way.

Karin wasn’t touted as having large chakra reserves - The biggest testament to the amount of chakra she had was when she was able to replenish Tsunade’s chakra after she had been bisected by Madara. However, Sakura did the same thing for Naruto during The Last (who has a much larger amount of chakra), and she’s not touted as having huge reserves of chakra.

Boruto wasn’t touted as having large chakra reserves - I always take the stats with a grain of salt, but they’re nonetheless a solid bit of information, and they reveal that Sarada has a higher chakra stat than Boruto because her stat is 150, whereas Boruto’s is 140:

But she’s not touted as having immense amounts of chakra either. Now, this could be referring to having “powerful” chakra, because as I showed above, the manga has made this distinction and has portrayed it as being an Uchiha trait, so I don’t know. However, compare that to someone like Naruto who was known to have large chakra reserves - his chakra stat had a ? instead, probably because his true amount of chakra is too difficult to quantify:

I’m sure that others who were known to have large chakra reserves like Hashirama and Kisame would have had the same thing next to their chakra stat. In any case, the point is that it can indeed be denied that all of the Uzumaki we have seen thus far have large chakra reserves, as demonstrated above.

I’ll reiterate that Kishi could very well have intended for the Uzumaki to be renowned for their large chakra reserves, but if that’s the case, then he did an exceedingly poor job of making this clear, because literally every time the Uzumaki clan's traits were ever brought up, it was always in order to highlight their powerful life force and vitality, and was never with regards to their apparent huge chakra reserves.

Ninja face thingie observations

Jiraiya's change over time, which is a bit of an odd choice for tattoo. Not impossible--note that the marks grow in shape over time and it's feasible for him to just be adding on--but odd

Unlike Jiraiya, Orochimaru's purple eyeshadow stays about the same shape throughout his life

Hiruzen's wings also change over time but seem to get smaller by the time he's old, suggesting makeup

Rin is from a no-name clan. The Nohara are never mentioned again. Why would a no-name clan maintain clan tattoos?

Tobirama doesn't have his as a child

Out of all these, we don't actually see multiple clan members with alleged "clan markings." We see one person from a family with markings. The only time we see the same types of patterns on multiple clan members that I'm aware of are the Inuzuka (there are probably some filler ninja from other villages with face things but I'm sticking with the knowledge I have, which is major characters)

--actually disregard that I suck cock, the Akimichi do consistently have face swirlies. However, it's not clear if these are in-universe markings or a stylization thing, as those face swirlies are not uncommon in manga

Tsunade and Sakura both have seals on their forehead. Mito has the same shape on her forehead, but if it's a seal (which we don't know) at the very least it's implied not to be the same type of seal as Tsunade's because Tsunade worked on her own seal

Naruto has whisker marks on his face because of the Ninetails; somewhat inexplicably his children do as well

Kinkaku and Ginkaku also had whisker marks because of the Ninetails, but not Mito or Kushina

It's implied that Gaara's double black eyes are both because of insomnia and that they're a side effect of Shukaku

I don't think any other Jinchuuriki have face markings as a result of their tenant? Might be wrong since I don't remember what half the other ones look like on account of how irrelevant they are. Three-tails didn't leave a mark on Rin's face, for what it's worth

Kaguya has only noble eyebrows, but several other Otsutsuki have chunky face marks in varying configurations

The whole Kaguya clan mimics those noble eyebrows in addition to having normal eyebrows, unlike Kaguya. Kimimaro has red eyeliner.

Indra has purple eyeliner that's almost certainly makeup

Hypothesis that drawing on your face is a uniquely popular aesthetic in Narutoland even without greater clan meaning thanks to the influence of the Otsutsuki cranial accessories plus the inherent markings of Sage Mode plus seals.
