How did you develop your teams? For example, were you clear about skills needs in your team? Did you implement clear development plans for individuals and the team? What development activities did you encourage, such as training courses, soft skills workshops, on the job mentoring, coaching, etc? 8. What feedback did you receive from your teams about how you supported them? It is often the case that you don't know what your key strengths are, especially if those strengths come very naturally to you - you don't see them as anything special. So it is important to reflect on feedback that you received from your teams. What did people often say they appreciated about you? What positive feedback did you get from your bosses or peers? They’re essential for employers to understand whether or not you will be a good fit in their organization. So, before you go for that interview, make sure you have prepared some talking points for each of these questions, so you can answer confidently.

Try to talk about aspects of your education and work experience that are relevant to the job you are applying for. What you say should help interviewers assess how well you will fit in their organization.

As long as they are not doing this too frequently, this is not a problem. However, if you had to leave a job for poor performance or issues like integrity, that will fall into the ‘unacceptable’ category and make the potential employer wary of hiring you.

Focus on the positive
Even if your qualification is not directly relevant to the job, talk about other experiences that might have helped develop relevant skills for this job. For example, you may have been involved in some extracurricular activities in college. Employers are looking for people who are not shy to interact with others and who have demonstrated they can be successful in various situations socially, at school and college, and at work.

An answer such as, “I’m not really sure how it will help because I’m still exploring different options,” is not a good idea. What your employers really want to know is whether you are thinking of a logical career path or not.
